Hatsan AT44 Safety: from Automatic to Manual
If you find the Hatsan AT44 automatic safety annoying, here is how to modify it into a manual safety.
It is just a matter of cutting the tip of this internal lever:
To remove the safety lever and cut it, you can simply remove the stock, remove the trigger mechanism, take the internal safety level and cut about 5mm from its tip.
A link to a detailed video on how to disassemble the main parts of the AT44 is on the description.
Remember to always start by removing the air reservoir...
Don't hold the lever with your fingers, it will get really hot in seconds...
Be sure everything is aligned...
Align the lever with the cylindrical block and trigger mechanism holes and insert the pin.
A tip: when some pieces need to defy gravity, use a drop of oil to avoid them to fall...
This safety is very noisy, even if you are careful. Maybe it is a good idea to glue something soft to the safety button, if you are a hunter.
Lets test if the safety is working only in manual mode....
Ok.

La mia skill è su un altro livello! [ITA] - Fortnite - Battle Royale - Duration: 16:24.
Hello everyone and welcome to this brand new episode!
As you know, one of my goals for the new year was to give more importance to the other projects...
So, here we are on Fortnite!
Today we'll play a single game...
You won't be able to stop laughing!
As for myself, I'll do my best not to suck!
We'll see... but in this game...
I don't know, let's see!
Well guys, so... the first question is always: Where do we land?
I'm going to the castle!
Yes...
Did I drop too early?
If it wasn't such a good game, I would hate it!
However...
it's a good game, so...
I have to try again!
You know guys, I know what the real problem is!
My aim sucks!
Now, that's normal, since it's a...
third-person shooter...
However...
I don't understand how all the others have such a good aim!
And I'm not just talking about the fight from before...
But also usually,
People who play this game they usually have a good aim!
Oh, a trap... nice!
Ok, we're in the safe zone, so we have time to take...
all our stuff in peace...
Let me change this... here, like this...
Someone is here!
I don't know how I survived
Maybe because he had bad weapons!
Ok, let me heal real fast...
Perfect!
Well guys, at least we managed to get one kill!
Against all odds!
Now, I don't want to throw salt on the wound...
However...
if one gets killed by me in this game...
Then... that's clearly a sign that something is wrong...
See!
Uh, nice!
You know what, let me drink this...
So I have full energy!
The other guy is watching us...
Well, I'd say it's time to leave the castle!
Wait, no... there is still the throne room!
If I'm not mistaken...
Here it is...
ah, no...
This goes here...
Good...
Ok, I don't understand where the guy, who was inside that plane, went...
Ok, while he is up there...
I'll use the opportunity to leave!
There is nothing up there anyways!
Ouch!
I'll get that guy from behind!
Oh no, he's gone!
Ok, I can't figure out where my opponents are!
But I'm in the top 5, which is already good!
So I'm not doing as bad as I thought!
Yeah, sure!
Now I'm done!
I dug my own grave!
Of course... and someone comes from behind, I knew it!
As I told you...
I'm absolutely not the best in this game!
But I'll improve,
You can bet!
I have to!
Top 5 was it, right?!
It's not too bad I'd say...
Well, let's see how it'll go next time, right?!
If you liked this episode, of course subscribe and leave a like...
See you next time, greetings from your Eporion!

Why Doesn't It Get Dark When You Blink? - Duration: 2:58.
[♩INTRO]
Just stop for second, and pay attention to what your body is doing.
Did you notice that?
You've probably blinked at least twice since the beginning of this video,
but there's a good chance you barely noticed.
Your world doesn't disappear in those few hundred milliseconds
when your eyes are closed.
And that's all because of some clever tricks your brain plays on you.
As soon as your peepers close, your brain suppresses
and sends a bunch of signals to fill in that moment of darkness.
First, it suppresses visual input from the retina
the part of the eye that collects light and sends a signal to the brain.
And the way scientists figured this part out is pretty cool.
In a small study published in the journal Science in 1980,
they had two participants wear light-blocking goggles,
and then the researchers shined a light directly onto the participants' retinas.
But instead of shining it through the front of their eyes,
they shined it through the roof of their mouths
specifically, through the palatine bone,
which was thin enough to let light reach the back of their eyes.
During the experiment, the researchers momentarily switched off this light,
either before, during, or after a blink.
And what they found was pretty surprising.
Participants generally noticed when the light was switched off
both when they had their eyes open and held them closed,
since the light was directly hitting the back of their eyes either way.
But they often didn't notice the change when they blinked.
That suggested that the act of blinking causes the brain
to suppress information from the retina.
Then, it fills in that gap with whatever it last saw, in this case, with light.
Using the same methods with eight participants,
a 2005 follow-up experiment got even more specific.
With brain imaging, the experiment showed that the suppression happens
in three main regions: the visual and prefrontal cortexes, and the parietal lobe.
Dampening the visual cortex is what blocks that information from the retina.
And because the parietal and prefrontal areas are
involved in environmental awareness, the researchers think suppression there
means we don't even notice the action of blinking and moving our eyelids.
Finally, to fill in the gaps in visual information,
a 2018 study suggests the brain relies
on an area called the dorsomedial prefrontal cortex.
It stores whatever you were looking at before the blink,
and then uses that image to fill in the blip of darkness.
That creates one continuous moving picture.
When you blink, your brain even recalibrates
where your eyes should be focused afterwards
based on how objects out there in the world are moving.
That's why you can blink while watching sports,
and people won't suddenly have teleported across the field.
Scientists don't have all the mechanisms pinned down
for how that refocusing part happens.
But they are starting to piece together a pretty good picture
of what happens when we shut our eyes, so we won't be left in the dark.

Trump Questions Elizabeth Warren's Mental Health After Presidential Announcement - Duration: 4:23.
On New Year's Eve, Donald Trump wasn't celebrating with his wife and family.
He was calling in to Fox News to question the mental capacity of Democratic senator.
And now presidential nominee Elizabeth Warren, a rewind a day before that, Elizabeth Warren
said, guess what, folks I am running for president of the United States, I have created the exploratory
committee, uh, which is not necessarily an official running for president, but she is
running for president of the United States under the democratic banner.
So Trump, new year's eve calls into Fox News because he has nothing better to do than sit
around and watch cable news on New Year's Eve instead of, you know, running the government.
And he tells them this.
They asked him what his thoughts are, and Elizabeth Warren running.
And he says, well, I'm happy about it.
I think she'll be wonderful.
I hope she maybe gets the nomination.
That would be a wonderful thing for me.
And the reason he says that is because he thinks Elizabeth Warren is very beatable in
a head to head match up.
But then when the host asked him if Elizabeth Warren was really a contender for the job
of president of the United States, and if she was up for it, Trump said this, you'd
have to ask her psychiatrist.
That was it.
That was the end of that little exchange.
They moved on immediately.
But you'd have to ask her psychiatrist if she's up for the job of being president of
the United States.
Now, the president over the last two years has engaged in many tone deaf attacks.
You know, he is attacked people for having affairs.
He is attack people for being horrible parents.
He is attacked people for allegedly having low Iq is even though they don't, but he clearly
does.
But this particular attack, um, there literally at this point been books written by psychiatrists
telling the world, warning the world that you, Mr. Trump are mentally unstable and should
be removed from office yesterday.
And you have the audacity and you're completely immune to the irony of you sitting there saying
that, well, I don't know if she could do it.
Why don't you ask her psychiatrist Wacko.
Really?
Elizabeth Warren's not the one who wakes up at midnight to rage tweet something she saw
in a dream you do that you psycho.
You're the one who goes out there and acts like a four year old instead of the guy in
his mid seventies, which is what you truly are.
You're the one who can't handle even the most mild of criticisms from anyone in the world.
You're the WHO is antagonized world leaders who also have nuclear weapons and who are
very hostile to the United States.
You're the one who needs to consult with a psychiatrist about whether or not your mentally
up for the job of president of the United States, regardless of what anybody thinks
of Elizabeth Warren as a candidate, regardless of what you think about her policies, there
is no doubt in my mind that this woman has the mental wherewithal to serve as the president
of the United States.
I would not worry about her mental capacity once if she were elected president.
It's not even something that would ever cross my mind, but with Donald Trump, that's something
we've had to think about every day.
That's something that the people who know best have been warning us about since day
one, and here he is telling Fox News, you know, in in a bit of a coded language there
that may be Elizabeth Warren is not stable enough to be the president of the United States.
You want to see somebody who's not stable enough to serve as the president.
Somebody who's mental functioning is not up to par.
Then all you have to do, Mr. Trump is go and look in the mirror.

The Real Reason We Didn't See The Monsters In Bird Box - Duration: 4:07.
When Bird Box flew onto Netflix in late December, the post-apocalyptic horror thriller quickly
became something of a phenomenon.
All anyone on the Internet could talk, tweet, and theorize about was Sandra Bullock's character
Malorie, her fight for survival in a world where deadly entities spark global psychosis,
and how the planet tumbled into such terrifying chaos.
But the two biggest mysteries that are still lingering in viewers' minds are what the creatures
look like and why the movie didn't actually show them.
Thanks to Bird Box screenwriter Eric Heisserer, lead actress Bullock, and director Susanne
Bier, we now have answers to both those questions.
Heisserer, Bullock, and Bier recently sat down for an interview with Bloody Disgusting,
and during the conversation, Heisserer revealed that the film very nearly included a scene
in which the monsters are shown in their full form.
Heisserer explained:
"There was a time when one of the producers was like, 'No, you have to see something at
some point' and forced me to write essentially a nightmare sequence where Malorie experiences
one in that house."
Bullock offered a detailed account of what the monster looked like in the scene that
didn't make it into the final cut of Bird Box:
"It was a green man with a horrific baby face.
It was snake-like, and I was like, 'I don't want to see it when it first happens.
Just bring it into the room.
We'll shoot the scene.'
I turn and he's like this [growling at me].
It's making me laugh.
It was just a long fat baby."
After Bullock described the Bird Box monster, director Bier chimed into the chat to explain
that the creature's design was a little more terrifying in theory than they were in practice,
and that unveiling to viewers the monsters' appearance would take away their power.
"It so easily becomes funny.
We actually shot that [scene] and spent a lot of energy on [it], but every time I saw
it, I was like, 'This is not going to be tense.
It's just going to be funny."
Heisserer added that he was "so sorry" Bier and Bullock had to shoot that sequence, but
with hindsight, everyone can laugh about the situation and agree that the choice not to
show the monsters in Bird Box was the right one.
Bier went on to explain that the more the team looked at the monsters, the more powerless
they became.
"Whatever those beings are, they tap into your deepest fear.
Everybody's deepest fear is going to be different from the other person.
I think to suddenly take upon a concrete shape in order to illustrate that becomes weak.
Where the conceit is really strong, then trying to illustrate it is kind of almost meaningless.
So it would have been the wrong decision."
Opting to keep the monsters' appearance ambiguous, only showing black shadows and wind gusts
to signal their impending arrival, was a smart one, as it's often what we don't see that
scares us most.
However, as anyone who has seen Bird Box will know, the film took the complete opposite
approach with its depiction of the violence that the creatures cause, showing the self-killings
in great detail.
Bier explained the thought process behind the all-in directorial choice, noting that
Netflix doesn't "have any inhibitions at all" when it comes to such shocking sights and
that the Bird Box team wanted everything to feel as real as possible without becoming
unnecessarily gory.
"I think we pretty much wanted to do it so it felt real and at the time was harrowing.
But not so that would become the essence of it.
It's pretty much done so it's kind of this is what it would look like if they actually
did what they are doing.
I think if you stick to that, you get it relatively realistic."
Bird Box remains the talk of Twitter and the movie on everyone's mind, and with countless
viewers comparing the film to John Krasinski's breakthrough fright-fest A Quiet Place, it's
certainly aiding the renaissance of sense horror.
That the film has captivated so many people without ever showing its main monsters is
perhaps an even bigger accomplishment.

Super WOLF Blood Moon Will Bring End Of The World? - Duration: 5:35.
This January, the night skiy will be illuminated by a super wolf blood moon.
According to prominent American preacher, Paster Begley, this blood moon signals the
second coming of Christ and the apocalypse.
Honestly, finally.
After the 2018 I've had, lets just get this over with.
What is good apocalypctic potato pals, you're watching inform overload where we tell you
about doomsday prophecies, you know, just in case.
I'm charlotte dobre and if you want the world to end, smash that like and subscribe
for more daily news updates on stories you actually want to hear about.
And make sure you follow us on social media, our links are posted in the description.
Alright whos ready for another IO apocalypse video.
I think we've got a whole playlist of them at this point.
To the people who say, AGAIN IO?
Why are you making another video on this.
To you I say, why are you clicking on it if you don't wanna find out?
Doesn't a little part of you want to know if the world is going to end?
Huh?
The blood moon prophecy is a prophecy that is as old as the bible itself.
In the book of joel it says 'the sun will turn into darkness, and the moon into blood,
before the great and terrible day of the lord comes.
The book of revelation also mentions that the apocalypse coicindes with a blood moon.
But these passages are pretty vague.
If you watch this channel, and if you're a fan of astronomy, you know that there are
quite a lot of blood moons.
A blood moon actually occurs twice every 3 years, the last one happened on July 27th.
A blood moon is where the sun, the earth and the moon are perfectly aligned so that the
moon appears a deep red or burnt orange.
Heres a nifty diagram to help visually explain.
Whats actually happening is, while the earth passes between the moon and the sun, through
earths atmosphere, the moon appears red.
Its also known as a lunar eclipse.
Its definitely a beautiful thing to witness, and if I don't die during it, I'll be
snapping some photos of it.
So usually when there's a big celestial event, there are usually evangelicals that
come out of the woodwork to say that it's a sign that the world is about to end.
This time, Its pastor Paul Begley, a bible expert, believes that this blood moon is an
apocalyptic sign that is pointing to a catastrophic event on the horizon.
Pastor Begley also said that America is going to be playing a huge role in the upcoming
apocalypse.
He thinks that the recent protests in paris are proof that the end of times is upon us.
He further clarified and said, just because you're going to have a super blood moon
on January 20 and 21st that doesn't mean that all hell's going to break loose.
Then again, it doesn't mean it wont, okay?
So there are signs that are starting to begin.
I will also note that pastor Begley has been wrong before.
He also said that the blood moon that happened over the summer was a sign the end of the
world was coming.
In fact, he often uses celestial events as subjects for his youtube channel.
Paul Begley is actually a pretty prominent youtuber.
He's got almost 300 thousand subscribers and he does videos on current events and how
they relate to the bible.
My guess is, he's gained a lot of notoriety from talking about the end of the world.
Most of the videos that do really well on his channel are somehow related to the apocalypse.
So my guess is, he does get something out of doing videos about the end of the world,
just like we get something out of doing videos on the end of the world.
But instead of incorrectly informing you that the blood moon is a sign the end is nigh,
I'm going to tell you that it's probably just a super cool rare celestial event.
The blood moon will take place on sunday January 20th.
Its also a supermoon, meaning that the moon appears bigger in the sky because its actually
closer to the earth.
It'll be visible for around 3 and a half hours, and the total eclipse will only last
an hour.
There wont be another total lunar eclipse until may 2021 so make sure you get your binoculars
and telephoto lenses out.
That's all I have for you on that, I'm going to wrap up this video with some comment
replies.
Malte – io is such an amazing channel, filled with so many amazing potatobeings.
But I don't get why it doesn't get as many views as the subscriber count it has.
IO is a news channel, which are really difficult channels for youtube.
#1 our videos aren't 10 minutes, so they aren't favoured by the algorhythm.
If you check out a channel like Tomo news, they have almost triple the amount of subscribers
as us and they actually get 2k views on their videos initially.
But the thing with news videos is, they might not get many initial views, but later on a
video, or several videos will randomly start to go viral.
Its all about knowing what topics might be juicy enough to go viral later, not necessarily
right away.
Hansel Herrera – why do you guys have like 10 channels.
Io is part of a bigger business.
If you're a business, you have to either grow or fail.
Goth boy – charlotte sometimes makes me want to dropkick my monitor with how cool
she is bro.
I mean don't dropkick your monitor cuz then you cant watch io but I approve of this message.
Alexandra thougaard – potato queen, do you eat potatoes?
If so, cannibalism.
I did.
I actually ate potatoes for lunch.
They were delicious.
No regrets.
Salty chicken – sup guys.
Sup.

Tru-Spec Side Zip and Redhead Boots - The all-season outdoor combo - Duration: 16:33.
Howdy, guys and gals! I'm Kyle Broderick; welcome to the Social Regressive and
Wardrobe Wednesday, which is going to be a rare look at clothing. Anybody that
knows me knows that clothing and I have a bit of antipathy going on. I'd be a
nudist if it wasn't for other nudists... and the fact that there's winter. What
we're gonna take a look at today are boots. These two boots take care of
everything that I need throughout the year. We're going to have a cold weather
pair over here with a little bit of insulation and then over here we have
warm weather boots. I live in Oklahoma, where temperatures are not stable - they
can actually drop 50 degrees in one hour. We call that a blue norther coming down
from Canada, just kind of sweeps over the plain, and yeah, it can drop everything
pretty drastically and very quickly. But for the most part we do have a
very large spread of temperature differences. We have up into the
hundred degrees plus Fahrenheit during summer - and that can hover up there for a
good long while - and then on the cold side we're definitely a little colder
than Texas at least, so you know we can get down definitely below freezing for
certain periods. We all lose our minds when it gets down to about zero or
negative those very rare occasions, but these two boots are going to take care
of everything that I need in that range. So we're going to take a close look at
both of these. Let's start with the summer boot. This is the Tru Spec
side-zip boot; I'll annotate the actual name model and I'll put a link down in
the description below to where you can actually buy these. These have proven to
be excellent over the year that I've been testing them. You can see that they
do have a bit of wear on them. I have taken them out in all kinds of
conditions and I've been very shocked at their performance. I'm used to Tru Spec
working very well, but these actually performed a bit better than advertised.
Right here you can see that they have a very chunky grip to them. You can
see that there are big notches through here for walking on mud, sand, all kinds
of things. You're going to be able to get plenty of traction. One of the things
that I've been very unhappy about with certain boots
that I've gotten is I'll have a maybe a hiking boot that fits really really well
and has great traction so it seems in the dry and then when the going gets wet
for some reason whatever material that these are made out of will slip on wet
rocks and then some of these will perform very well in those conditions
and I just have to kind of find out after the fact which boots are which and
these are definitely ones that grip very well whatever this material is it seems
to grip excellently on all surfaces I've taken these out hunting I've taken them
out hiking and yeah so far I have yet to find a surface that it does not like I
prefer a boot that fits mostly like a sneaker I want it to be able to snow
down around my foot pretty tightly so that I don't get a lot of movement and
pick up a lot of blisters that way and I like it to have just a certain amount of
rigidity in here and a certain amount of flexibility who knows how you can
quantify that but yeah this is definitely hitting that that sweet spot
that I like this has an Eevee a midsole running through here for comfort so you
get some a little bit of squish when you're stepping down it's not like
you're walking directly on rocks or whatever there is a shank running
through here as well I'm not sure what that shank is made of but it provides
just that little extra bit of support so when you're especially dealing with
heavy weight or whatever this boot is not going to be really floppy like a lot
of the sneakers that you have it's going to provide a bit more support and
rigidity throughout the whole structure but then it also has enough flexibility
that again it's not like you're walking around with a big thick piece of rubber
strapped to your foot this is very comfortable and yeah that evie a midsole
does provide that little bit of squish the fast laced system that you see right
here seems to do a pretty good job of holding whatever tension you want on
various parts of your foot a lot of time I like to put a little bit of extra
tension at various points in order to get that best fit for example I like to
usually put a little bit extra right here
that it kind of pulls my foot down and pulls my heel down into the bottom here
so I don't get a lot of play and maybe I'll loosen things up a little bit here
maybe loosen things up a little bit here and these laces do seem to stay put
pretty well and once you do get this lock down the way that you want it then
all you have to do is just use the side zip in the future and this zipper seems
to be very well built I've been testing these boots for about a year now I've
never had this YKK zipper come off the rails or anything even when I'm tugging
on this pretty good it seems to stay put very well I've been extremely pleased
with that and then to protect the zipper when it's in its uppermost position you
do have this little velcro tab you can pull across here it's going to help
support the zipper maybe keep it from bursting under extreme loads or whatever
and it's also going to kind of protect this and keep it from knocking around so
it doesn't make any noise a very very well thought out so that just pops off
with velcro on the inside we have a pretty interesting kind of mesh material
here on the inside it seems to breathe very well it's going to wick away the
moisture that's what we're all looking for and it's going to dry very quickly
if you do get these wet down at the bottom you can see the inner sole right
there and that is it dip provides that just a little bit of extra comfort down
there and these do pop out quite easily if you need to dry them or swap them
over to something else now the boot overall I would say
compared to some of the other ones that I've had in the past some of my hikers
or these Redheads over here these are a little bit vacuous on the inside
especially around the toes right here you can see that I have these pulled in
pretty tightly right now these are just about maxed out not quite but there is
quite a bit of wiggle room if I'm using a thinner sock like this one and that's
going to be good I guess for keeping things dry but this is one where there's
a little bit too much play it I want to be able to backpack or
whatever so I might choose a bit of a thicker sock like these I believe these
are Redheads right here these are wool I think these are a merino wool blend and
these have worked out really well with these it just kind of fills up that
interior a little bit and keeps my toes from moving around too much if you have
kind of a larger foot little puffier foot
I think these boots are gonna do really well for you if you have maybe a slimmer
foot you might want to go for a little bit thicker sock one facet of these
boots that surprised me is their waterproofness this boot is not even
listed as being waterproof at all yet it seems to do a very good job of
deflecting water like say if you have a lot of dew on the grass sometimes boots
even like this one will be very susceptible to that kind of direct
splashing water on the fabric and it'll still make it through these they seem to
do a very good job of deflecting water even like through kind of low puddles I
was expecting water to just rush into these and rush out like you want from a
good summer boot or at least I do in general if it's warm here in Oklahoma I
don't want to be wandering around in a waterproof boot it's going to feel
terrible it's like a little spa inside the shoe it's like a hot tub in there it
just gets hot and moist and it just feels terrible I want one that water can
go in go out but these despite that you know it actually it does get water out
of there really well but it also seems to prevent water from coming in again I
that's not something that they're advertising on this boot but it seems to
work out anyway even here in the zipper area where you get just this little kind
of flap right here this little gusset I'm not exactly sure what you would call
this but yeah it seems like water doesn't really want to get into this
boot all that much and I've been very pleasantly surprised with it as you
might expect from a duty boot these come in tan and black and I opted for the tan
for a couple different reasons first off this is going to be a very nice
camouflage whether I'm in the or out in the sand or out in the woods
these are going to blend in really well and I won't have to worry about black
boots sticking out from under camouflage everything else and then also we're
going to get a lot of light reflected off of these instead of absorbed out
here in Oklahoma we have a lot of direct blistering sunlight and the feet can get
very uncomfortable so yeah Tan was definitely the best choice I've been
very pleased with how these perform when it gets really warm out in summer now
let's move over to the winter boot these are the Redhead Voyager 2 so these are
boots that you're going to be able to find at your local Bass Pro Shop and of
course you can order online I'll put links down below
I believe the Voyager 2 is still being made we'll let the check on that if not
they're going to have a model that's very very similar to this and speaking
of similar models you're going to find a bunch of Bass Pro that look a lot like
the boot that I'm showing you right here they're going to have kind of a full toe
cap they're going to have some kind of waterproof material and these are really
designed for hunting however there are some differences between some of the
different models I originally bought a more expensive pair that had a true
Gore-Tex liner in here and they had kind of a terrible problem with the the
inside right here the material that you see right down in here is a nice kind of
slick material so that the sock is going to slide against this if there's any
play any kind of movement and it's not going to transfer that heat into your
foot and make blisters the gore-tex model on the other hand and I can't
remember the name of it it had a material right here that would grab the
sock almost like velcro and then your sock would basically tear the skin off
your foot it was awful I had them for about a year
I returned them thankfully Bass Pro is pretty good about returns and they they
gave me my money back pretty nice and I got these instead and I have been very
happy with them ever since I've had these for about four or five years now I
think this is actually going on my fifth year and these have performed really
well in all kinds of situations of these are going to be great for your
cold weather these are designed for hunting so they have 600 grams of
Thinsulate inside here that's going to be quite nice when you're sitting out in
the cold this is not the thickest Thinsulate that
you can get for many of their models they have a 1200 gram I believe that's
going to be better if you have to sit still for long periods of time in a tree
stand and these are going to be more of a compromise these will feel better when
you're taking a long hike out to your deer or dragging that deer back and then
maybe not quite so insulated when it comes time to just sit and let the cold
kind of creep in but these are ones that I've actually taken out on some pretty
long hikes even in warmer weather and they have performed very well the
waterproofing material like I said it's not gore-tex this is their kind of house
brand bone-dry and whatever material they found it seems to do a very good
job yes maybe it's not as breathable as gore-tex this is going to hold in some
of that moisture that your own foot develops as you're hiking around so it
can get a little bit kind of steamy on the inside and you have to watch for
blisters that way but the boot itself it does breathe and it wants to just by its
very fit it wants to prevent any kind of foot damage it's just built overall for
extreme comfort they did a great job with this it fits my own foot very well
so let's take a look at some of the other bits here we do have the grip here
at the bottom this seems to be a very durable and very grippy rubber you can
see that we have large channels here that are going to perform really well in
mud I've taken these through mud through deep water cold water warm all kinds of
things I've had these on sand and in every situation this has performed just
flawlessly it's just wonderful back here at the back there used to be more
material it was almost like these these kind of feelers on the back that when
you had stepped down you would get this little bit of extra squish
so that if you're walking through the woods you don't get a big thunk when you
step down on a rock or a log or anything like that this would really kind of roll
the heel very nicely and just press down neatly into the grass to keep your step
both smooth and quiet it's comfortable on the foot comfortable on the ears and
it's not gonna spook your game quite so much you can see that we still have all
kinds of mud in here from some past excursions back here on the back this is
wearing off you can see that it's kind of peeling out but like I say after four
and going on five years now you really can't expect better performance in this
these are doing really really well for comfort you have an Eevee a midsole
running right through here these this does provide quite a lot of comfort and
again this strikes a good balance between the flexibility that you want
just for overall comfort when walking long distances and providing that extra
bit of rigidity there there must be some kind of shank running through here
that's a bit more rigid than the tru-spec and this is one that I've taken
out on some very long hikes backpacking trips and I've been very very pleased
with it with all this proven performance in mind I heartily recommend either of
these boots separately or if you want that whole year system yeah these will
work out really well in concert and maybe as we get to the end of the
lifecycle for these I can provide a little bit more information out there if
you are interested in the Redhead boots the Voyager to go check out the Bass Pro
catalogue go to the website I believe that these are still being sold Bass Pro
is a little bit slower to cycle out older models and bring in the new ones I
know that a lot of the time with like the sneakers you know maybe Nike and
Adidas or whatever you finally find a shoe that you like it has a good fit and
then by the time they've worn out they've gone ahead and just thrown out
everything and you can't find anywhere like that shoe anymore but I think the
Voyager 2 is still for sale if not they're going to have one with a very
similar construction and it's probably going to have a very similar feel make
sure that you subscribe like hit the notification bell we're gonna
new videos coming out in Wardrobe Wednesday to discuss pants we're gonna
talk about shirts we're gonna talk about hats some that I've found to be very

What's Holding You Back from the Life You Really Want? Emotional Baggage and Getting Unstuck - Duration: 10:09.
and this is all really new information to me it really is and I mean you know I
we hang out together we talk all the time and never have I thought to equate
being feeling stuck in certain situations to loss
thank you so much for tuning into our second act with Paige and Silke for your
second act of life hey Silke hi Paige Paige today we have what I consider an
interesting topic in our emotional health series we've done a lot of
programming lately on you know recreating life after 50 moving on etc
etc and a lot of the comments we get are is that people feel stuck they don't
believe that they can move on that you know it's too late of course that our
age is something we hear a lot and when you and I talked about this you brought
up that you know it could be losses that we've experienced in our past that are
keeping us stuck in whatever current situation you know we're stuck in today
and I I've never heard that before yes so typically when people hear about
loss they think death especially when you're at you know midlife so what I'm
here to talk about is yes loss is death however there are so many other losses
that we experience through life and by the time you hit midlife we've got a
junkyard of losses so when you think about all the way back to as far back as
you can think as a child think about all the things that you feel you lost what
were losses for you and these losses builds and builds and builds and build and what
happens is by the time you hit midlife it now becomes a pillar that sits in the
middle of your path and maybe your pillar is this wide this wide or this wide
all depends on how much loss you've experienced what you actually tuned into
if you've grieved any of those losses and found places for them and and
reframe them or if you never did then your junkyard is probably huge heaps of
all different kinds of loss not just death because losses create big barriers
in our path well and you know as you say that that makes a lot of sense but I
this is all really new information to me it really is and I mean you know I we
hang out together we talk all the time and never have I thought to equate being
feeling stuck in certain situations to loss how does one become aware of that
you know how whatever specific losses are affecting a specific situation so
what I would do is I would give a homework assignment so here it is
what you can do is think all the way back to your childhood and think about
what things felt like wow that really felt like a loss to me and what you do
is you just write down bullet points and sometimes the bullet point you want to
write a little bit more pending them on you know what comes to you you start a
timeline what is my timeline of loss from as far back as I can remember
until current day so something like like if you had to move or you lost a
childhood friend or a pet or somebody was mean to you that is that the kind of
stuff you can't about yeah all different kinds of things and you know one of my
losses was I was a chronic stutterer I couldn't even finish a sentence when I
was a little girl and so I was constantly made fun of and you know back
then the teachers would go around and you get called upon and I was always
sweating profusely with anxiety of oh my god am I gonna be able to speak without
stuttering so for me was the loss of my self-esteem
because I didn't think well I was smart enough or I could do this because I was
too worried about what the other children thought so just just a thought
so when you have your list Silke and you have your timeline you'll
be able to start to see wow that's a theme that's a theme that's a connection
and you'll start to see how these themes run through your losses and how that
equates to what's going on in your life right now if you feel stuck in a
relationship stuck you don't have a relationship stuck because you can't
move forward in a career you don't know where to move you don't know what to do
whatever it is stuck stuck stuck take a look at the losses you've accumulated in
your junk yard through the years to see the size of the pillar that's in your
path so and then it's a matter of dealing with the loss which is I'm
assuming a grieving process part of it is a grieving process
so and what I say to people is sometimes people are very quick to think oh it's
the big losses and I'm like okay yeah it might be the big losses but so many
times more than not it's the things they look back on and go wow that was such a
small situation but that theme and the impact in that small situation was
excuse me gigantic and that felt like such a loss
so yeah you do have to grieve what maybe you didn't get or what you feel like wow
I lost that I didn't get a chance to do that whatever so you first have to
create that time line and see what have you carried forward to midlife that's
still blocking you and then you'll get another piece of homework from me is
what do you do next after you have the time line and what do you do with it
well yeah exactly and you know it's funny when we're
talking and you know one thing that came up to me on a couple of these shows that
we've done including now this one is that I've learned I equate expressing
emotions with weakness that was a huge huge awakening to me because here we are
talking you know it's no I you know feel your emotions deal with your emotions
telling people to do that and then I am writing copy and it's like and I put ask
yourself if you think you know you think showing emotion is weakness and I'm
writing this and it was and I think that that came from a sense of loss of never
being able to show my emotions when I was that's huge
and when you think about our population our generation Silke how many times did
we hear from our parents stop crying if crying what's gonna help something
don't you think everybody would be doing it so you know many of us heard that and
it was like okay let me swallow it let me stuff it let me not go there and that
was a loss so that's kind of again I don't want to make this by myself but
you know I just feel like if I'm going through this you know there's there's
tons of other people that may be experiencing the same thing never having
thought of it that way then that is a loss a loss of being able to express
yourself so it's that kind of stuff is what we're talking about that all of a
sudden becomes a theme and an aha moment in in our life after 50 right and I
think you've heard me say this before what when you come to be midlife
anything that you haven't dealt with really builds up and especially with
women who's you go through perimenopause and menopause because the mask is ripped
off and the stuff just comes out you know unfiltered completely so you're
getting an opportunity to look at what have the losses been in my life that
not are all about physical death that are stopping me in my current path well
we're going to be doing a lot more programming on this and you know you've
given us a homework assignment for this segment which is identify the losses and
identify that timeline and then you said you have some homework for what to do
with it afterwards it can give us a quick taste of that no I'll have you
tuned in one thing at a time because I don't want to overwhelm people it's it's
enough for them to go back because when you start to see some of the losses
sometimes you will get emotional but remember this the next piece of homework
that I give on our next show will be how do I take this grieve it and shift and
change it so I can move forward and my pillar doesn't have to be this thick
this wide and this stuck so I can move forward great well then let me ask you
what you'll leave our viewers with for this segment take the time to do the
timeline you don't always have to do it in one sitting and just realize that if
you go no freakin way am I going there you can do that but just know that no
freakin way is your pillar going anywhere either
it's stuck in front of you it's in your path until you want to really look at it

When I'm to meet a person I like and respect a lot, waiting for the meeting
the following filters appear in my head and expectations, 'What would it be like? How will the talk go?
What awesome will happen?'
And my expectations very often turn out disappointingly unmet.
Besides, there's also a risk I' ll impose my expectations instead of just meeting
to read the gift of the present, of the meeting, to open up to the human and what s/he brings.
What makes today's scene wonderful is John whose idea about the Messiah,
is radical as an ax put to a tree root ,
he can recognize the Lamb of God in Jesus and says,'There is the Lamb of God'.
So he knew how to withdraw from his ideas and expectations
and open up mindfully to receive the Jesus which turns out to be totally different from his expectations.

You Can't Lose with Open Doors - Duration: 2:01.

[man] I really like trades-- I'm more of a hands-on worker
so I have a little bit of trouble, like, just sitting in a classroom.
So I moved to welding to hopefully learn a new trade.
[man] I was a little behind on credits and I didn't really know what to do, like I was stuck.
Should I get my G.E.D., you know, should I just drop out?
That wasn't an option.
So I got introduced to Open Doors through my coach.
He explained that there's this program that I can go to
and it'd help me basically get college credits and my high school diploma.
So, yeah ever since then I've been hooked.
I really think Open Doors helped me when I first started enrolling in classes.
They showed me what classes I needed to take.
Like, they just showed me the way.
And I really narrowed my path down on what I wanted to do
and how I was gonna get there.
A student mentor is basically just a guide for new incoming students.
Coming to this college environment can be kinda scary in some sense.
So being in Open Doors, they have us as mentors to help
kinda give em a little backbone, you know?
Like what I like to do as a mentor, is I like to get students involved
because that's what helps me stay in school.
So Open Doors has really helped me be more punctual.
Like, showing up to class on-time, making sure all my forms are turned in--it's nice.
So what Open Doors does is provide transportation for students
that don't live in the radius of two miles of the school.
They don't have the money to live on campus.
The United Way grant gives students all the tools necessary to become successful.
The United Way grant has helped me a lot.
They actually pay for my books, and they paid for my classes.
So I just show up to class and everything's paid for.
I go to the library, I turn in the form, and I get my books
and everything's already set and ready
and I don't have to worry about having to pay anything.
You can't lose. [laughs]
