Previsão Outubro 2017 - Leão - #LEÃO EM CASA - Duration: 2:18.

Leo, you begin the month running after money and what will you find?

Money.

Great!

This is the gift from Venus and Mars to you.

But it is also possible that you realize that a certain somebody makes you, let's say, hot.

My tip:

Be careful not to take sex as love.

Especially if your self-esteem is not ok, something Saturn is trying to show you.

October will also be very communicative, and you will be charming when speaking in the

second half of the month.

But you can't abuse this power, thinking that you can troll everyone only because you speak beautifully

especially if the trolled person is someone who knows more than you.

You should also calm down, avoiding doing a lot of things but not knowing what you want.

Jupiter in Scorpio wants all your attention focused on your family and residence.

If you handled these matters in a sloppy way, now is the time to put everything in order.

Your home can be refurbished, to give it a magical tone or to protect it from water

because Jupiter is working with Neptune

And you will discover a lot of things in your house or in your family.

Oops.

Your card this month is the "Queen of Diamonds", indicating that you could use a certain sensitivity

in love.

Good sex is nice, but be careful not to favor this instead of true love.

I know that who you really love is Augúrio, right?

So like, share and subscribe our channel!

Very soon we'll have our daily and weekly foreacasts in English too.

Tomorrow we'll be back with Pisces and Gemini forecasts.

Bye!

The Wii Shop Channel's Closure is Killing 224 Virtual Console Games - We List Them All! - Duration: 4:34.

Nintendo has announced that the Wii Shop Channel is ending its service in 2019.

The last time you'll be able to add Wii Points is March 26th, 2018 while you can still

purchase content on the Channel until January 30th, 2019.

This means you only have about a year and a half to re-download any purchased WiiWare

and Virtual Console titles or use the Wii System Transfer Tool to put those games on

the Wii U.

This naturally also means that the Wii U won't be able to access the Channel anymore either.

It's weird to think that the original Virtual Console will no longer be there.

But here's the thing, there's a lot of games that came to the Wii's Virtual Console

that never appeared again on the Wii U's.

And with no news, as of this video, on the state of the Switch Virtual Console, this

could be the last chance to download some of the gems you may have missed the first

time around.

But we're here to help as we went through and catalogued all the games on the Wii Shop's

Virtual Console that cannot be downloaded on any other Nintendo Console.

At least as of right now.

So if there's something that you missed out on originally, here's your chance to

grab it before the service is gone.

We begin with the NES where there's a few Japanese imports like Bio Miracle Bokutte

Upa and Ninja JaJaMaru-kun along with classics and hidden gems like A Boy and His Blob, the

Adventures of Lolo 2, BurgerTime, and even the original Final Fantasy.

The SNES section is filled with classics like these though: ActRaiser, Final Fantasy II

& III, Ogre Battle, Super Adventure Island, and even Zombies Ate My Neighbors.

Most of all, you can pick up the original SNES version of Chrono Trigger which wasn't

even included on the SNES Classic.

The N64 has slimmer pickings in general, but Pokémon Puzzle League and Super Smash Bros.

are definitely worth picking up if you haven't had a chance yet.

Next are the TurboGrafx-16 games and while I'm not overly familiar with the system,

there are still plenty of good options here that can't be found anywhere else on a Nintendo

console yet, like Castlevania: Rondo of Blood, Bomberman '93, and Splatterhouse.

But the thing about the Wii U is that it never had any Sega games on it like the Wii.

So you could potentially miss out on Master System titles like Alex Kidd, Fantasy Zone,

Wonder Boy, and the original Phantasy Star.

And then there's the Genesis line-up which is filled with so many great games.

Sonic, Streets of Rage, Golden Axe, the other Phantasy Star RPGs, Shining Force, Ristar.

It's all great stuff.

A more curious situation are the NeoGeo games on the Wii Shop.

While they weren't re-released on the Wii U Virtual Console, they have been seeing a

re-release on the Switch outside of the Virtual Console moniker.

Many of these games could appear on the Switch eventually, but these are the ones that aren't

yet.

Finally, we have the arcade line-up.

Some of these are also on the consoles we've already shown but there are a few exclusives

like 1942, Mappy, Zaxxon, and Shinobi.

And there you have it.

All the Virtual Console games that are on the Wii Shop but can't be found on another

Nintendo console.

There's a shocking amount that never saw a re-release and figuring out which ones to

grab while keeping to a budget could be more than a little tricky.

Still, at least there's still time to grab some of these classics.

Which ones are you planning to pick up?

Let us know in the comments and be sure to subscribe to GameXplain for more on Nintendo

and other things gaming.

BREAKING: This Could Be The END Of Season For NFL After Receiving Devastating Blow Overnight - Duration: 4:52.

You've probably heard the saying "read the room" when making public comments.

This means you should know your audience before you do or say something controversial.

Players in the NFL apparently missed that, because the results of their antics are in,

and these overpaid ball players have some serious explaining to do.

Players and coaches alike who took a knee while the national anthem have stirred up

a huge media frenzy, as many Americans consider their actions offensive.

The NFL's declining viewership has turned into a nightmare for the league, as their

right-leaning fans are refusing to watch anymore games.

The Washington Examiner has the latest round of bad news for the NFL, their sponsors, and

the racist players whose jobs are on the chopping block:

The National Football League is feeling the impact of the 'Trump Effect.'

Ticket sales since he called on team owners to fire players who take a knee to protest

the National Anthem have cratered.

The online ticket reseller TickPick told Secrets that sales have dropped 17.9 percent, far

more than the usual Week Three fall.

From TickPick:

17.9 percent decrease in NFL orders this week compared to the previous week.

Last year the drop was 10.8 percent in orders on Monday & Tuesday following Week Three games.

This means that while the regular season might still be in full swing, the season to protest

is over.

With viewership numbers reaching startling 20-year lows, the league can't afford anymore

setbacks, and they're going to have to do something drastic to win back their irate

fans.

"'We have seen a massive decrease in NFL ticket purchases this past week in comparison

to years past.

Week 3 seems to usually have less ticket orders than week 2, but this year ticket purchases

are down more than 7 percent from this time last year,'" said TickPick's Jack Slingland.

"While we can't specify if this decrease is due to the president's comments, player

and owner protests, play on the field, or simply the continued division of consumer's

media attention, the conversation around the NFL this week has focused on the president's

comments as well as the players' and owners' reaction.

As viewers continue to abandon their NFL Sunday habits, both the number of ticket sales and

the purchase price of tickets will drop."

Oh, you can't tell what's causing these declining numbers?

It could be due to the hundreds of thousands of fans who've decided to stop attending

games after getting slapped in the face with disrespect, or perhaps protesting players

in recent days telling outraged fans to "take a hike."

Business owners are also decreasing their patronage, as they are increasingly reluctant

to be associated with the kind of activity that flies in the face of American values.

Al Waisman of Freedom Daily reported on restaurants who have opted out of showing the games at

their establishments:

"Mom and Pop restaurant owners are actually responding to the rich spoiled oppressed hypocrites

in the NFL that kneeled in protest against the national anthem during Sunday's games

by shutting off TVs in their establishments.

This comes after President Donald Trump denounced the protests and told sports fans to never

condone their actions.

This is not an easy thing for the restaurant owners to do since their profit margins are

known for being very small and they make a lot of money when people come in to watch

sports games, eat chicken wings and drink beer."

A lot of Americans are protesting, and it really doesn't cost a thing.

In fact, it might even save money, since fans aren't shelling out the cash to see a game.

This is just the beginning of the problems the problems that the NFL faces.

As Prissy Holly reported, the league could soon be forced to find their funds from places

other than the American taxpayer after government officials get finished dropping the hammer:

Unfortunately for the anti-American NFL, empty stadiums and plummeting viewership could soon

be the least of their concerns.

If these subsidies suddenly end, all the NFL would have to fork out their own money to

build and maintain these fancy stadiums, meaning they'd have no choice but to listen to their

angry fans and put an end to these protests.

As these cocky players continue to disrespect our country, our police, and every American

soldier who has fought, bled, and died to protect America, the one thing they didn't

consider was the will of the American people.

After refusing to listen to their vast patriotic fanbase, now they'll be incurring the full

wrath of GOP lawmakers who overnight could ruin everything for them with this wonderful

new piece of legislation."

They might be able to keep playing for now, but with a multi-front attack that the American

people are launching on them, the NFL is going to have to make some big decisions soon, otherwise,

football as we know it might be a thing of the past.

what do you think about this?

Scope cam Airsoft Gameplay ENG - WE P90 GBBR CQB / WE PX4 - Duration: 14:59.

Hello everybody, welcome for this new gameplay video, it was too long!

This game has been organized by a new team, the Zebra

I was with some other teams like ASAT13 or ATM

It's a new battlefield, an old shooting area or something like that

It's a small field but with some possibilities to have fun!

I really loved this place, I'm happy to show it to you!

I'm really sorry for the bad quality of my front camera

I don't know why but my camera is blocked on low quality setting

I'm really angry of that

I think it's not so bad, depending of the youtube compression

For this game, I didn't take my sniper or my steyr aug, I succeed to make something really good with the P90 WE GBB

It was perfect for this CQB gameplay

I let you see that ;)

They are just behind the main door on the left and we can't enter

I hit a gun

I was expected more resistance

I tried something but they was already here

I should not be in full auto

Why did he move???

End of this game, we change side

New side, I decided to flank them for the first attack

Until now it's all good

I did it!

Why they always enter when I look elsewhere? :p

This time I was ready!

If I did it once, I can do it twice!

I think I'm not too bad with a pistol, he's not nice...

This time, I was really angry...

The last bb is still the most important

I think he missfeeds

Even if he didn't touch me, he was very fair-play during this day so I got out myself

I hate playing with the left hand

No sound, weird

Who said that GBBR wasn't accurate?

To finish, a little annoying situation you probably already know

How Osamu Dezaki Became Anime's Great Visionary - Duration: 14:55.

One person, whose influence ripples more through the medium of anime than anyone, is Osamu

Dezaki.

With a career almost spanning the length of the industry itself, Dezaki's influence

can be seen in any anime you watch today.

I can almost guarantee you're well aware of his visual quirks that show up in most

of today's series and movies that trace their way back to the earliest works of Osamu

Dezaki.

Unfortunately his more obscure older library and the lack of success in the west compared

to other names means that he's not nearly as well celebrated as his peers, which is

a tremendous shame.

Dezaki was one of the most creative and influential minds the medium has ever seen, and he deserves

a lot more recognition.

I'd like to take you through his career, having a look into his style and influence

to see how Osamu Dezaki became one of anime's great visionaries.

The beginning of Dezaki's career very much coincides with the beginning of the TV anime

industry.

Dezaki joined Mushi Productions in 1963, a lead animation studio at the time, who were

just about to kick start the industry with Tezuka's Astro Boy.

Dezaki quickly made a name for himself here and began directing episodes of various TV

series.

Starting with Astro Boy.

He was 19 at the time and at the forefront of the anime revolution.

Unfortunately we don't know which episodes of Astro Boy dezaki directed but we do for

the later Dororo which he worked as episode director on 3 episodes.

Dororo works as a nice precursor insight into his later style as a director.

A lot of his trademark techniques are birthed in this period.

Remember this is the 60s were TV anime has only been around for a few years and most

creators are still finding their stylistic feet.

A lot of the shows at the time are very flat, almost just animated manga panels.

Creators had no real source of influence inside the medium, they didn't have decades of

prior anime to take from.

Influence would instead come from from popular manga, Disney or in Dezaki's case, Cinema.

Dezaki was heavily influenced by film, movements like the French New Wave were in their prime

and over in japan, directors like Akira Kurosawa had just spent the last 20 years making some

of cinema's greatest films.

It was an enormous source of influence for the young Dezaki.

Les Samurai is a good example of where his style might come from.

This shows immediately in the first episode Dezaki directs for Dororo.

The opening few minutes is packed with cinematic techniques: Strong realistic use of lighting,

a very prominent use of depth of field and camera movements that mimic a physical camera.

There's even this shot which shows a silhouette effect, but one that would be made by a camera,

keeping some of the detail.

It's clear Dezaki was coming from a different angle to the rest of the industry.

At the time, TV anime was, for the most part, either Tezuka or Tezuka rip-offs, all of which

were heavily influenced from the manga they were adapting.

Leaving Dezaki to become a pioneer in a lot of his techniques.

Dezaki's unique use of graphics shines through here too.

Like this shot of the sun in episode 6 or the use of mist in the following fight scene.

As you'll see in further examples of this in future projects, he was a master of using

tricks like this to do more with less.

Dezaki was inexperienced and young but a true talent already and completely unique within

his sphere.

Dezaki was climbing the Mushi Productions ladder and had higher ups impressed with his

work as an episode director.

It wasn't long until Dezaki was given the opportunity to direct his first full project,

Ashita no Joe in 1970.

Joe was Dezaki's opportunity to make a name for himself and really make an impact on the

medium.

But what he did in these early years was more than anyone at the time could've imagined..

He didn't stick closely to the already popular Joe manga as he adapted it, continuing with

his own vision for the series.

Which payed off as the series was also a huge success and at the young age of 27, Dezaki

was becoming one of the biggest names in his industry.

When looking at Joe, it's important to remember how narrow TV anime was stylistically at the

time.

A quick look at some of the shows airing during this period gives you a good idea.

Dezaki continued embracing his cinematic influence with Joe.

Giving characters more realistic body proportions and highly detailed expressions.

The use of lighting here is very impressive.

The opening episode for example takes place at dawn and we have these very long, dynamic

shadows that create a unique sense of tension.

Dezaki treats his animated worlds like real film sets.

I mentioned that a lot of anime at the time were very flat, much like how early cinema

was flat, most practitioners were just animating manga panels, as that's all they knew.

Dezaki revolutionised this in his works by giving everything a 3d perspective.

As if he was really animating a film set with real cameras.

This is extremely effective with his integration of multi-layered background movement.

Dezaki would use multiple layers of background and move them all differently to create a

3 dimensional shot.

This is such a huge step forward in the technicality of anime.

His use of surreal graphics that I touched upon in Dororo starts to really develop in

Joe.

For example, this shot of a painted background during a fight.

In a bid to save money, a lot of shows would use block colours or basic shapes as backgrounds.

It would save staff a lot of time time in having to paint a whole background.

Dezaki twisted this around and used these background to draw focus in certain areas

and to heighten drama.

This later becomes one of Dezaki's most well known contributions to the medium, Postcard

Memories.

Dezaki would end dramatic scenes with a close up of a face, which developed into taking

that close-up and transitioning it into a painted, detailed still.

These saved a lot of time in animation and became iconic in his shows as they actually

work as a fantastic way of representing melodrama.

Postcard memories become a staple of his style, which you'll see developing in his later

works, and still today, most shows use them at the climax of their episodes.

The still enormously influential Tezuka had left Mushi Productions and the studio was

facing huge financial problems.

Just as the company was filing for bankruptcy, Dezaki left and joined the newly birthed Studio

Madhouse.

This is where he would create his next hit, 1973's Aim for the ace.

One of anime's early great sports anime.

Dezaki's fantastic use of melodrama shined here and he injected the series with his ever

improving visual surrealism.

His surreal imagery becomes the stylistic back-bone of Aim for the Ace, making it one

of the most unique works of it's time.

Dezaki takes his technique of coloured background from Joe and develops them into the show's

main aesthetic.

The backgrounds are never grounded in realism, usually playing with colour schemes and mixing

them with non-literal elements.

Even small details are fantasized like having sparkles accompany a character's face during

dramatic scenes.

He uses colour and differing detail to draw our eyes to certain parts of the screen, this

is incredibly smart.

Not only does it work as an efficient storytelling tool but unnecessary detail could be replaced

with elements that were also much easier to animate.

It was a win-win.

This style is continued into Dezaki's later Shojo work and becomes one of his most influential

contributions to the medium.

I'll touch on this in more detail shortly.

One of the biggest developments in Aim for the Ace was Dezaki's smart use of animation.

We discussed his Postcard Memories technique that appeared in Joe, which is further solidified

in Aim for the Ace.

Still are used prominently throughout the episodes at dramatic moments.

Similarly with Dezaki's use of repetition, playing the same few frames over and over

to increase their impact.

These might look pretty basic now but at the time, Dezaki was revolutionary in his resourcefulness.

This made Osamu Dezaki one of the most valuable creators in a time of little stability in

the industry.

After a few quieter years, Dezaki directed Nobody's Boy Remi in 1978, also at Madhouse.

Remi was a hit, especially overseas where Dezaki had found little success in the past.

It was by far his most technically impressive show yet.

He took his multi-layered background technique and took it to a whole new level of complexity.

Remi is arguably the catalyst for how later anime would use dynamic backgrounds, Dezaki

was masterful in how he perfectly moved each layer of his world.

Each movement complementing its counterparts, creating a mesmerizing viewing experience

and combined with the rich colour scheme produces a fairy-tale atmosphere that just couldn't

be achieved by anyone else.

This dynamic movement gave Dezaki a chance to further play with his cinematic influence

as he could replicate real cameras even more than before.

This scene were Remi's father comes home for example creates such unease as the camera

pans in ways more flat animation couldn't achieve.

It creates fantastic perspectives shots and tells you everything you need to know about

the situation.

This technique becomes one of the pillars of later animation in Japan, it allowed creators

to birth vibrant, exciting scenes on a small budget.

All of Dezaki's experience and skill would be fully utilised in his next project.

Rose of Versaille in 1979.

Dezaki didn't begin directing the series, he oversaw production of the first half but

stepped in at around episode 20 to also direct the 2nd half.

The staff listing for the series was a collection of some of the industry's finest talents

and under the direction of Dezaki, they made an unmistakable classic.

The series was a massive hit and still remains one of the best dramas in the medium.

Versaille is credited as a main inspiration for Ikuhara's later work Revolutionary Girl

Utena which went on to influence a whole wave of more anime in the following decades.

It's also credited as one of the main influences on shows favouring a more solidified, serious

storyline, aswell as progressing the Shojo genre tremendously.

Versailles influences is not to be underestimated.

The series can be seen as a perfection of Dezaki's style in the 70s.

All his techniques that he created over the past decade are used here to perfection.

The multi-layer movement for example is done with such skill that it's barely noticeable.

Everything just moves naturally, creating a look that fits more in line with series

a few decades later.

I think his general directing ability reachers a similar level of excellence.

Look at this scene were a number of characters meet on a beach.

What stands out first is the biblical presentation of the sky behind, with streaks of light crashing

down onto the world.

And the masterfully animated sea in the background, wetting the sand to mirror the scene in a

reflection on the floor.

All this becoming a foundation for the presented characters who are framed perfectly.

Dezaki flawlessly frames his characters at different perspectives to show authority and

importance.

This scene is perfect and just the start of Dezaki's expert visual input in the series.

And Versailles is packed with moments like this in every episode, giving a whole new

layer of awe to the story.

It's so easy to just get lost in the visual perfection of the show.

He was one of the few directors from this era that were really using their medium to

tell stories.

Versailles and the following years can be considered Dezaki's most prolific period

in terms of output.

Essentially creating a whole new project every year.

Starting the decade with a second season of Joe, then a follow up movie for Joe and then

for Remi.

But 1982 saw a change in direction for Dezaki stylistically.

This echoed a change in the industry too.

The late 70s had caused a shift in the market and anime was about to go Sci-fi mad.

With shows like Gundam and Macross on the brink of volcanic popularity, Dezaki was right

there waiting and started production of his new series: Space Adventure Cobra.

This is possibly an overlooked period in Dezaki's career because it doesn't line up as much

with the rest of his work, but it's fair to say Dezaki contributed to the boom in sci-fi

anime during the 80s, and what a contribution it was.

Cobra was completely different in tone to Dezaki's previous works, you have a cheeky

James Bond type who fumbles his way through sci-fi punch-ups in pursuit of cyborg women.

It's full of nicely implemented comedy, beautifully designed locations and action

scenes that make it impossible to stop watching.

His creativity still remains but it's more subtle.

Techniques like multi-layered backgrounds are standard now and Dezaki makes them blend

in with his complex futuristic world.

The sci-fi setting also allows Dezaki to play around with new objects like hologram screens

and neon lighting.

This is one of Cobra's most interesting aesthetic values as many of the shots are

pointed through glass or presented as reflections.

Cobra is the story of everyone's science fiction dream and without a doubt one of Dezaki's

most exciting works.

A year later in 1983 Dezaki directed Golgo 13.

An action movie about a silent hit man.

It was scarcely released in the west and it seems only hard-core Dezaki fans have put

the effort into searching out a copy.

Which is a shame because I think a lot of the scenes in the movie are some of Dezaki's

best and the films brilliantly.

There's constant action, violence and sex throughout the film's run time, accompanied

with countless scenes of really impressive animation.

This was also one of the first anime films ever to incorporate CG animation, a whole

decade before the rest of the industry would join in.

It was only used for one scene in Golgo but a quick look at it shows the rest of the industry

were probably right to wait.

From now on, Dezaki became very selective with the projects he would take on.

For example The Might Orbots in 1984 or Bionic Six in 1987, an american cartoon that was

no doubt trying to replicate the success of Mecha anime in Japan.

Although in the early 90s, Dezaki returns to a more traditional style with his show

Oniisama e, that has more similarities to his early works like Aim for the Ace than

it does to any of his recent projects.

After this Dezaki's output slows down.

He's no longer making a whole TV series every year, instead opting for OVAs or movies.

That's not to say his quality drops, movies like Black Jack are fantastic uses of his

developed style.

Giving the Tezuka adaptation an interesting darker tone.

He even takes his skills to a whole new genre and directs two Key adaptations, movies for

Air in 2005 and Clannad in 2007.

Using a new generation of animators to bring his visions to life.

This is a showcase of Dezaki's unlimited scope, from being an episode director on Astro

Boy all the way back in 1963, Dezaki has done everything.

He revolutionised the medium he loved and made it his own.

Every project he worked on was filled with his creativity and innovation.

But tragically, Dezaki passed away in 2011.

But this doesn't mean he won't continue to impact anime, his presence lives on with

his influence in every anime that comes out today.

Many of anime's most prolific directors over the last decade, Akiyuki Shinbo and Kunihiko

Ikuhara all owe their style directly to Dezaki.

We now have whole genres and styles that were birthed from his vision.

Without Dezaki, who knows if anime would be the exciting medium it is today.

I hope this video has done a good enough job at showing how important he was to anime.

Next time you watch a new anime series, keep an eye out for the techniques and visual styles

that Dezaki introduced.

Megan Linsey is a white country singer who loves America. She also took a knee. - Duration: 3:41.

One, two, one, two, three.

[Guitar playing]

I'm a white woman in the country music industry. I can get in my car at midnight and I can

drive down the street and I don't have to worry about getting pulled over and getting

killed by a police officer just because of the color of my skin. And I think time and

time again these videos come out of black men and women who are being murdered and people

are defending the cops. That needs to come to light. People need to start talking about

it. And it needs to be white Americans who stand up and stand in solidarity and say this

isn't right.

[Singing: "And I wanna love you like permanent marker all over your face."]

I got the call on the way to the stadium in the morning that the anthem was going to be

televised. I kinda anticipated with everything that was going on and the comments that the

president made.

Get that son of a b**** off the field right now. Out! He's fired.

And then when I got there, I found out that the players weren't coming out onto the field.

There were a lot of mixed emotions and things, but I knew that with everything going on,

that I had to do the right thing.

[Singing: "And the home of the brave."]

For me and for, I think, all of the NFL players that are kneeling, everybody's kneeling against

racism and police brutality. And I think it's being misconstrued as being anti-American

or you're not respecting the flag or the military. I do love the military. I love our flag and

what it should stand for. I just want it to stand for the same thing for everybody.

I think for the president to come out and speak against the NFL players who are peacefully

protesting and then to not come out against radical white supremacists who are carrying

tiki torches and causing violence and murder, I think that's deplorable.

You know what's funny is when I finished the anthem, there were some people in the crowd

that were yelling at me because they wanted to show their support and say thank you. So

that was nice, but there were a lot of people booing.

I've had people threaten my life, I've had people wish cancer on me, I've had people

say that they should have executed me on the field. I mean, I think that goes against everything

America stands for.

[Guitar playing]

I do find it interesting how people can say in one breath that, "I'm a Christian and a

proud American." And then in another breath, they're telling me to go to hell and they're

threatening my life and saying all these terrible things about me. I just don't think that Jesus

would have spoke that way and I don't think he would have wished death on anyone.

[Singing: "Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound."]

I think for me, being a white woman whose privileged in the country music industry,

to take a knee is really unheard of. I think people are shocked especially in the country

community because people that look like me don't do that. They don't speak out. I'm just

at a point where I think it's too important. It's too important to care about "oh, this

person's not gonna buy my album" or "oh, this could tank my career." It's above that. It's

beyond that at this point. It's bigger than that. So for me, I just think it's time to

speak out.

[Singing: "And now, I see."]

Blade Runner Special Effects: The Future is Now | NowThis Nerd - Duration: 7:52.

Hey guys, I'm Dev and I think Denis Villeneuve is going to knock 'Blade Runner 2049' out of the park.

The director of 'Sicario' and 'Arrival' is fusing his stylish modern vision,

with the props and practical sets from Ridley Scott's 1982 classic.

All those moments will be lost... like tears... in... rain...

The insane detail of 'Blade Runner' set a new bar for science-fiction worldbuilding,

And its cyberpunk visuals inspired the careers of directors like Christopher Nolan and Guillermo Del Toro.

So let's take a look at the people and the process behind the practical effects of 'Blade Runner.'

When Philip K. Dick wrote his extremely weird 1968 novel,

'Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?'

He set it in the distant future of...1992.

For the adaptation, Ridley Scott moved 'Blade Runner' to the unthinkably far-off year of 2019.

As a director, Scott is extremely hands on with the visuals and design of his films.

He wanted 'Blade Runner' to feel like a depressingly realistic version of things to come.

So to design his scientifically plausible world, he hired futurist artist Syd Mead.

You know how Steven Spielberg hired a think tank to design the eerily accurate future in 'Minority Report?'

That's what Mead brought to the table for 'Blade Runner.'

He considers science fiction "reality ahead of schedule." which is the greatest elevator pitch for a genre.

Anyways, his vision for the future has been sought by everyone from electronics giants to Hollywood studios.

He designed the light cycles in 'TRON,'

The Sulaco in 'Aliens'

And even Johnny 5.

No disassemble

Scott originally hired him for just a few days, to create the flying cars called "Spinners."

Eventually the crew built 25 working vehicles based on his iconic design.

Organizing the mechanical detail systems which made it look like it actually flew.

It was an internal lift idea called an aerodyne.

But Mead's sketches were never just a vehicle on a white space.

He always drew intricate backgrounds to provide mood and context for his concepts.

The director took notice, and kept Mead on to design the entire environment of 'Blade Runner.'

And you can bet he kept his original $1,500 day rate too,

which was probably a factor in the movie going way over budget.

You know what else wasn't cheap? The sets.

In Syd Mead's 2019, technology is a trap for people in society.

The rich live in massive skyscrapers that blot out the sky,

And decent people never go below the 60th floor.

The street level particularly had become like the sewers or the underside of the city.

And being trapped on the street was not only just unromantic but a thoroughly nasty way to spend your life.

To film 'Blade Runner,' Ridley Scott used the classic New York Street set on the Warner Brothers backlot.

You can see it in noir films like 'The Maltese Falcon' and 'The Big Sleep.'

It's even in 'Batman Returns.'

But it won't look anything like Rick Deckard's L.A.

Thanks to an actor's strike, the crew had more than nine months to retrofit the old exteriors.

It took 400 workers and way too much money, but the results were absolutely worth it.

Everything from the police badges to parking meters are thought out and built to excruciating detail.

This parking meter is a kind of miniature example of the whole visual concept of accumulation.

The post's mechanical case becomes electrified, so if touch it or try to attack it you get electrocuted.

Scott filmed at night to hide the very non-cyberpunk green hills in the background.

And he used lots of smoke and rain to hide the cheap materials he was forced to use,

Even if it made the set pretty unpleasant.

The conditions we were shooting in were so unbearable.

It was boiling hot, it was wet, it was damp, everybody was sitting in their underwear shooting.

For on-location shoots, they did the same process to other spots around L.A.,

Including the landmark Bradbury Building where the final fight takes place.

'Blade Runner' uses icons from the past as a springboard into the future.

Whether it's classic film noir tropes,

Or vintage buildings from the old Hollywood era that gave birth to them.

But the sets were just half of the equation.

Let's talk about the special effects.

There aren't actually that many effects in 'Blade Runner.'

It's not like the organic Replicants need any fancy makeup or animatronics,

And Roy Batty squishing Tyrell's head is the only real gore.

There are just 90 effects shots in the film,

But they blow the world wide open.

The matte paintings and miniature work turn a cramped city set,

into a sprawling urban hellscape.

They're the work of VFX legend Douglas Trumbull.

He was the special effects supervisor on '2001: A Space Odyssey,'

where he developed the slit-scan technology used in the Stargate sequence.

Most of the tech used in 'Blade Runner' he developed for 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind,'

Which, incidentally, he turned down 'Star Wars' to work on.

He built huge cityscapes out of brass etched with acid,

And stuffed them with miles of fiber-optic cable connecting thousands of tiny lights.

His crew also used kitbashed model parts to flesh out the skyline.

Basically, they took apart hobby-shop models of spaceships and military vehicles,

And cobbled them together into something almost brand new.

If you look close, you can see an extremely well-hidden Millennium Falcon.

The 'Star Wars' crew repaid the favor by sneaking a Spinner into 'Episode I.'

The models were built with forced perspective techniques,

Designed to trick the audience with the illusion of size.

It's the same gimmick Peter Jackson used brilliantly in 'Lord of the Rings.'

Trumbull imposed a matte painting in the distance,

And used motion-controlled cameras to record multiple layers of effect elements.

Every billboard, screen, and spinner in the background required a seperate precision pass with the camera.

And the end result is nearly seamless.

The chance to begin again in a golden land of opportunity and adventure!

From giant picture windows to rainy rooftop chases,

Blade Runner creates a beautifully hideous world of technology gone amok,

All without a single digital effect.--

Let's take a closer look at the famous opening scene,

Which the crew called the "Hades Landscape."

First of all, this miniature is extremely impressive.

It's only 13 feet deep and 18 feet wide, but the perspective makes it look like the city stretches for miles.

Filmed against a black background, the room was filled with smoke to simulate the dense L.A. fog.

The fiber-optic lights interacted with the smoky air to create a sense of depth.

Now, the massive Tyrell Building pyramid was a 9 square foot plexiglass model.

The crew painted it black and scratched out tiny squares for the windows,

Then illuminated it from inside the with one giant light.

Unfortunately, it was so hot that the pyramid actually caught fire and melted after a long day of filming.

RIP Pyramid.

But don't worry, you can see a surviving section up close at the Museum of the Moving Image right here in New York City.

When all was said and done, it took 17 precisely choreographed takes,

to combine all the explosions, aircraft, and lighting effects into 'Blade Runner's' cyberpunk inferno.

And the resulting scene is the perfect visual introduction to the surreal science-fiction world we're about to enter.

When it comes to depth, immersion, and impact,

It's hard to top Ridley Scott's legendary vision.

For a sequel 35 years in the making,

It would have been easy to just stick some big-name actors in front of a green screen and call it a day.

But Denis Villeneuve is going the extra mile to make sure his world measures up to the original iconic dystopia.

Just like the first film brought detective stories into the science fiction future,

'Blade Runner: 2049' is bringing a cinema classic back to life for a new generation,

And paying tribute to the same effects techniques

that changed the game 35 years ago.

13 Celebrity Moms Who Had Babies Young Having kids at an early age certainly didn't

slow these successful ladies down!

Here are 13 celebrity moms who had babies when they were, well, practically babies.

Sofia Vergara Modern Family siren Sofia Vergara had her

son, Manolo Gonzalez-Ripoll Vergara, in September of 1992 when she was just 19 years old.

Vergara was married to her high school sweetheart, Joe Gonzalez, at the time, but the couple

divorced a year after Manolo was born.

Though Vergara has admit that being a single mom was hard at times, she also said that

there were benefits.

"When I had Manolo, I was 19, and I had the energy for everything," she told Redbook.

Reese Witherspoon Before Reese Witherspoon won an Oscar, she

was a young starlet married to Ryan Phillippe.

The two met in 1997 and two years later, when Witherspoon was 22, they married and welcomed

their first daughter, Ava Elizabeth Phillippe.

The Wild actress revealed to Elle that being a mother at such a young age was tough.

"It was so hard ... living [away from my family].

I really didn't have any friends.

And I had a baby," she said.

"No one else who was 22 had a baby."

Niki Taylor Model Niki Taylor didn't just become a mom

to one baby at age 19, she became a mom to twins!

In 1994, Taylor welcomed Jake and Hunter Martinez with then-husband Matt Martinez.

Taylor has said that the small age gap between her and her kids sometimes makes them feel

more like friends.

"We like the same music and movies and we think the same things are cool," she told

Mom magazine.

"We just look at things kind of the same way."

Jamie Lynn Spears Britney Spears' younger sister, Jamie Lynn,

revealed that she was expecting at the tender age of 16, and gave birth to her daughter,

Maddie Briann Aldridge, in June of 2008.

The former star of Nickelodeon's All That told Glamour magazine that she was excited

to see the MTV show Teen Mom when it was announced.

"I remember thinking, Oh my God, I cannot wait to see this show because there's someone

else out there," she said.

"I mean, I feel for those girls.

I've been that girl.

It does show that motherhood is hard."

Kate Hudson In 2004, four years after actress Kate Hudson

married Black Crowes frontman Chris Robinson, the couple welcomed son Ryder Robinson.

The Almost Famous star, who was just 24 at the time, told People that she didn't feel

like a "young mom" until Ryder started growing up.

"As I started getting older, as [Ryder] started getting older and I was 28, 29, I was like,

'Wow.

I'm a young mom.'

It started hitting me."

Hilary Duff In March of 2012, then-24-year-old Hilary

Duff welcomed a baby boy, Luca Cruz Comrie, with husband Mike Comrie.

The couple has since split up, but continue to co-parent their little boy.

Duff told Parents that she's happy being a young mom because it gives her some time to

have more children.

"I want to have more kids and I'm looking forward to doing that, but I'm not in any

rush," the Lizzie McGuire star said.

"I think sometimes maybe if you start a little later you're in a hurry to get all the kids

you want, and I have a little time to spread that out."

Solange Knowles Songstress and sister of Beyoncé, Solange

Knowles, welcomed son Daniel Julez J. Smith, Junior. with then-husband Daniel Smith, in

2004, when she was just 18.

The Losing You singer has been outspoken about the difficulty she had raising a child at

such a young age, but she also has hailed the blessings of motherhood, saying, "I have

been so blessed that my son is the coolest kid ever.

Of course, that first year of not sleeping and just being dedicated to him had tough

parts.

I've heard stories of people who were 14 that had kids and basically snapped into it and

got into the groove of motherhood.

A lot of people have doubts, but when you have a child I think it takes a really non-emotional

person not to have a blast, no matter what age."

Britney Spears Pop star Britney Spears wasn't as young as

her sister when she welcomed her first baby, Sean Preston Federline, into the world in

2005, but at the age of 23, she certainly could be classified as "young."

Before becoming pregnant, Spears wrote on her website, "I've had a career since I was

16, have travelled around the world and back and even kissed Madonna!

The only thing I haven't done so far is experience the closest thing to God and that's having

a baby.

I can't wait!"

Adele Grammy winner Adele had her son, Angelo James

Konecki, when she was 24 years old with boyfriend Simon Konecki.

The Someone Like You singer shocked her fans when she announced on her website that she

was expecting in 2012.

However, shortly before her announcement, she told People magazine that she wanted to

have three sons by the time she was 30, adding, "I better start getting on with it!"

Brandy When singer Brandy Norwood was 23 years old,

she welcomed her daughter, Sy'rai Iman Smith, with then-boyfriend, Robert Smith.

The I Wanna Be Down singer gave birth in 2002 and allowed MTV to film her pregnancy on the

short-lived reality show, Brandy: Special Delivery.

Norwood has since kept her daughter out of the spotlight to respect her privacy, but

told People that she "would love for people to see how I'm doing it, because I think I

could be a good example of a young, single mom."

Ashlee Simpson Jessica Simpson's younger sister (who's currently

expecting her second) welcomed her first child, son Bronx Mowgli Wentz, with ex Pete Wentz

in 2008.

Ashlee was 23 when she had Bronx, and couldn't have been more thrilled to become a mom.

During her first pregnancy, the Pieces of Me singer told Entertainment Tonight Canada,

"We're getting the nursery ready.

I can't wait to be a mom ... This is definitely the happiest moment in my life."

Victoria Beckham Before she was Victoria Beckham, Fashion Designer

Extraordinaire, she was a mom of one at age 24 years old.

The former Spice Girls member and her hubby, David Beckham, welcomed their first son, Brooklyn

Joseph Beckham, in 1999.

Of course, they've since had three more kiddos -- Romeo James, Cruz David, and Harper Seven.

Candace Cameron Bure Full House star Candace Cameron Bure welcomed

her first child, Natasha Bure, in 1998, when she was just 22 years old.

A few years ago, the actress, who went on to compete on Dancing With the Stars, told

Cookie magazine, "I love being a young mom and taking my kids everywhere with me.

I'm blessed to say my kids have traveled all over the world, and we've never brought someone

along to help with them.

It puts my obsession with etiquette books to good use!

I also get to see the world through young eyes and do things I might not otherwise because

of it."

DIY Soft Lights - Duration: 9:28.

Hey guys are you wanting some soft lights? You know you need them for your

videos, but they may be out of your price range or maybe the ones you're finding

are too big, maybe they don't fit in the area where you record. I mean that's very

common, not all of us have a big studio to record in. So in this video I want to

show you how we took a regular clip light and we made our own soft light

with things we pretty much had around the house. So these fit in the area we

needed, they cost a lot less and they worked fine for what we needed. Well at

least at that time they were better than nothing.

So let's take a look at how we made these lights. Hi guys, I'm Sheryl Loch with

Ginger Roots Media and in this do-it-yourself creative video gear

series, I've been showing you things that we kind of had to make on our own,

because we either couldn't find them or maybe we couldn't afford to go out and

buy one, so we had to kind of use things we had around the house or make our own

for a variety of reasons. And today this is a soft light. As you know a lot of

times you have to have lighting for your video, but the thing you may be able to

afford or that you may have is something like this from say Home Depot, Lowe's, any

store has them and lots of us have them sitting around our house. They have

a clip, they're easy to use and they're pretty inexpensive. The only problem with

these lights is how bright it is and it shows the direct light. You're gonna blow

things out. If it happens to shine on you, you could be doomed by having a super

blown out face and look a little ridiculous. So when we started making

videos, I made videos in a three foot by three foot area.

Now that's super small. I didn't have a lot of room the big regular box lights

and soft lights were not gonna work. I had nowhere to put them, so we were

trying to use regular lights. But for some things they didn't work. They were

either too much, not enough, I couldn't get them regulated. So we decided to make

our own soft lights and we started with something like this. Now let me tell you

if you don't have one of these laying around and it's something you're going

to use, when you go to your hardware store if you find one of these and the

metal here is bent, you can usually talk the manager into

giving it to you at a super discount price. So instead of paying like 7 to 10

bucks, you can usually get them for 3 or 4 just because this metal is bent. We

didn't use the metal anyway, we were gonna we cut it off, so that part didn't

have a whole lot to play in it. But we wanted the clip, we wanted the whole

setup and it was cheaper when we could get one of these that was all dinged up.

So let's look at the soft light. Kkay this is not beautimous and it's been

hanging out in our shop for quite a while now, so I kind of wiped it off. But

this is not your typical round nor square. We did have a big square one

we've since taken it down I believe. But because of the area I worked in I needed

light and this shape, that would fit. I could fit 2 of these to get my light even and

so we had to make them triangle. Trust me I doubt you could find one of these and

everybody said triangles won't work, well they will if that's what you have. So

what do we have here? We have cardboard on the outside. This is just real thick

cardboard. Go to the grocery store, go to any big box store they usually have it

out back and if you ask, they'll give you some big boxes and this is the thick

corrugated cardboard. Now we spray painted it black, we cut our

shapes used tape, this is hundred-mile-an-hour tape. Tape

them together and that was how we made our box. Now yes you can make them square,

triangle, whatever rectangle, whatever is going to work that you can make work.

Back here you see we have the back of our clip light. This could have the clip

piece still attached which we did use at times and then we redesigned them again

and we put this piece of metal bent to attach here. Because I had slats that we

put on to basically the ceiling and I could slide these on and move them

around very easily. As for the rest of the light this that is going to soften

the light. It's a white shower curtain that you buy

at any store. It's just a white shower curtain, that's it nothing fancy. Then we

have inside. Let me pull this apart. The heat is not very friendly,

Las Vegas gets a little warm and it doesn't do well for anything glued. Let's

take a look here. As you can see we've lined this piece of shower curtain with

Velcro and have Velcro on the cardboard. Now lining the cardboard is regular

aluminum foil, tin foil, whatever you want to call it, that is what is lining the

inside the light, so it reflects. Then all the way in, is the rest of our light and

as you can see we've cut the metal piece down. And I know this won't show on

camera, but there's just a slight little rim we left here to help hold the light

in place and secure it. It may not be pretty, would I take these out and

hang them up somewhere to do a video shoot for someone or a photo shoot?

Probably not and now I don't have to. At the time they worked for what we

needed. So it's cardboard, a clip light, some

aluminum foil and a white shower curtain. There's more instructions to it, but

these are your basics and I'm sure you can at least get an idea and get started

with these. I know we used to have a how-to on it, but I don't know where that

went. But anyway, I just wanted to show you

that you you don't need to go out and buy things that you can't afford if

that's what's holding you back from starting to make your videos. Or maybe

you have product pictures you want to take and you can't afford the the big

soft lights. I don't blame you. When we started we couldn't. There's nothing to

be ashamed of. I I made hundreds of videos with these lights and guess what?

Nobody even knew. Nobody's gonna know if you're in your own office or your house

or wherever you make your videos, that you're using soft lights made out of

cardboard that cost 15 bucks rather than 50 bucks for the nice fancy

ones. If it solves your problem then use it. It doesn't matter if it's not what

everyone else uses or it's not as fancy or you didn't get it store-bought. The

point is get what you need, so you can start moving forward and as your

business builds or your channel builds, whatever it is you're working on, then

maybe you're making more money and you choose to go buy better looking, a

little more sophisticated soft lights. But that's up to you, because as long as

you have something that works, you can get started right now. We made several of

these different sizes, different shapes, the shapes will will cause the light to

come out different, but you can work with it and you may have to make different

ones. Had square, rectangular, triangle and we

used them in different places for different things. So that's why I wanted

to show you today how we made homemade, super cheap soft lights and they work. So

go ahead tell me, I'd never make that. That's okay, you don't have to, they

worked for me. We'll see you on the next video, thanks for watching and be

sure to subscribe for more entertaining things we've made from home.
