Everything that I did in my leg was to come back and fight
I got my dreams
still have the will to achieve
and I came to Thailand because I didn't want to feel
the anguish of if I had tried
If I had made, if...
then I came back to train again
feel everything again
but day by day in the gym
I had to do everything as southpaw because as orthodox I couldn't
use my right leg properly,
and start to have problems when people start to walk
over my right leg and I wasn't confident to kick 100%
worried about my leg get cut again
when I check the kick and it get on the scar I started to feel it
because the skin that was grafted is like a crashed car
it's not new and never will
and that's one of the reasons
that I called Leo and Yoksutai
to announce that I'm retiring from muaythai as a fighter
I'm retired and not planning to fight again
maybe some other day I could fight something else
I don't know what's gonna happen tomorrow
but now I'm going back home, start to work as a trainer
as a teacher
giving seminars, sharing my knowledge
and everything that I learnt living those 5 years in Thailand
Also I'm planning to study
but this time as fighter is over
I went as far as I could
I did everything to come back
and I'm still very grateful to God for what I lived
and If I get this far is because of Him
I leave Thailand in 2015
because of a cut that I had on my right leg
I went back to Brazil and did 2 surgeries
I did a graft, a skin rotation
because of that infection that I got after this fight
[Leo] What is a skin rotation?
The doctor took the skin from one side of the leg and strech it
to the other side. Also took a piece from my hip skin and grafted here
to give some extra support
also rebuild the irrigation, the blood vassels
The surgery took 5h30
and I was sleeping for almost 8 hours
that was the first part
I had to wait one year for it heal properly
before start the 2nd surgery
and then I did a scar reduction
but during this process my body rejected the graft
for a while I was...
[Leo] What is a scar reduction?
During the graft it's some extra skin
in the reduction, the doctors stretched that skin
and cut the excess out
that's the 2nd surgery process
but after that my body started to reject the graft
I had to take some antibiotics
but after a while it healed
my body accepted it and the cicatrization was fine
After that I came back to train a bit
started to build some fighters
helped others to win some titles in Brazil
I'm also very thankful that Tainara [Lisboa] came to train with me
when she fought...
[Leo] Actually all the good girls went to train at your gym
That's true. Luara [Marciano], Bruna [Ramires]
also Yuli [Yves] that's is improving
she did her 1st fight training with me. Now she got 5 fights and all with us
and Tainara when she stayed with me for one fight
was a good experience and very rewarding work with her
[Leo] You arrived 2 weeks ago and was at Elite Fight Club for a few days
then you have a talk with your trainer Gae
as the gym as not that busy with pro fighters anymore
and you decided to go to Saengmorakot gym
Yes, I was there for almost a week
getting in shape, training, got a fight for the end of the month...
but I can't fight to be the number 2
I always work to be the number 1
I want to be champion wherever I go
but if it's to fight being careful, not being 100%
it's not the same thing
Also for the fans that follow my career, they don't deserve it
I have to do my best doesn't matter what I'm doing
and until now I did my best for recover and get ready
now this chapter is closed and I'm starting another one
as trainer, teacher, giving seminars
or whatever God put on my life
[Leo] You came for stay for a while in Thailand
you got a room, planned to bring your cat, your wife
I came for stay. Not sure for how long
my wife was coming next month
I arrived in the end of march, she was supposed to arrive end of april
but we cancelled her ticket because it's God's plan
I felt the leg, I can't do this anymore
[Leo] Are you going back to São Paulo
or there's another offer?
First I'm going back to São Paulo to MR Trainning Center that always supported me.
we are also thinking to open some rooms for fighters that want to travel
and train muaythai like we have at 013 Muaythai in Santos
And I'm avaliable for seminars everywhere
we organize it and make 3-4h of learning
talking, teaching or whatever you want to improve
and share some techniques too
[Leo] In a very gentle way right?
For sure, I have to explain with affection
[Leo] Do you plan to fight kickboxing or MMA someday?
Now I just want to go back home and stay with my family
and think about what just happened
but I'm not saying that I'm retiring from fighting, I'm retiring from muaythai
For muaythai, high level competition, it's over
but in the future I might fight something
I need to think about it, get my head together
check my house, plan, and then move again
I'm very thankful to my wife that was always on my side
she cheer me up, supported me
I'm here alone but talking to her all the time
she's always supportive and we take all the decisions together
I hope this is going to make us keep walking forward
[Leo] Well, I only can wish you good luck, nothing else to say
I saw how you struggle, how did you pursuit your dreams
worked hard for achieve everything
your case was even harder because you stayed alone most of the time
You got everything training as hard as you could
I only can wish you all the best and good luck
I also talked to Jos [Mendonca]
we had the same kind of injury
and he told me:"Adaylton, is time to move on, new chapter
think about new projects and follow new plans"
as he had the same injury he probably have more experience
[Leo] Me too...
That's true, you also had to stop fighting because of injuries
by the way I want to thank you and Yoksutai for the support
Leo brought me to stay with trainer Gae at Elite
And I want to thank every brazilian that was on my way
I wish you welcome back and we can work together back home
All the best and thank you
[Leo] I know this feeling and I feel bad too
[Adaylton] It's 2 days that I'm only crying...
That's a tribute for your dedication and for be one of the best brazilian fighters
more than wins and titles, show how a champion should behave inside and outside of the ring
Brazilian muaythai thank you for the inspiration and we all wish the same sucess as trainer
Thank you Adaylton Freitas
