I have the pleasure of presenting the PEUGEOT i-Cockpit that comes with your car.

It has some amazing capabilities and guarantees an unprecedented driving experience.

The PEUGEOT i-Cockpit is made up of,

first and foremost, this new compact steering wheel. It has been completely redesigned to have more personality.

The special care taken in choosing quality materials and the attention to detail give the car a truly top-of-the-range feel.

You'll see that there are only two flat surfaces, here, and here.

The top flat section provides a clear view of the entire instrument panel in front of you.

To make the steering wheel stand out, you can see the care we have taken with its finish,

with the wide glossy black adornment above the airbag.

You will also notice the chrome touches that highlight the integrated controls, and the edge of the airbag.

Let's take a closer look at the integrated controls. They have been redesigned and are all backlighted for clear access to their various features.

The left thumbwheel can be used to cycle through the digital instrument panel's various

head-up display modes that will be in front of you.

The first mode, which you see here, is the "Clock face" mode with the traditional automobile display.

The design is nevertheless extremely fresh and modern, produced by PEUGEOT's internal design teams.

A second mode, the driving mode, includes an animation between the different displays, and shows the 5008 SUV

in the middle for a quick and easy view of the various kinds of assistance the car provides.

The speed and rev counter are displayed as scrolls on the side of the screen.

The third display mode is navigation mode. It provides a clear view of navigation instructions in the middle of the instrument panel.

This lets you concentrate on driving without raking your eyes off the road to see where you're going.

There is also a fourth mode, called Custom mode. I'll come back to this later.

Custom mode is used to configure the digital instrument panel as you see fit, by placing the information you want to see

in the slots provided on the right and left of the instrument panel.

The fifth mode is Minimal mode, and is when driving at night to display only the most essential information.

This includes speed, signs, and partial and total mileage counters.

And then we come back to the "Clock face" mode that we described first.

Let's look at the "Custom" mode.

Now I'm cycling from "Clock face" to "Custom" mode, and I'm going to show you how to use the touchscreen to configure it.

It's easy to get started. From the "Settings" icon, access the settings for your car

by pressing on the "Options" button.

You are presented with a choice and by selecting "Customise instrument panel" you will be able to choose which information

you will be able to see on the left and right of the panel.

For example, if you want to place the on-board computer to the left and engine temperature to the right.

You select them like this. And then press "Ok". And the change is made straight away.

It definitely has that "wow" factor.

One last thing about this digital HUD instrument panel.

As you can see, it is elegantly backlighted with this blue backlighting.

This can be turned off by pressing the button on the left of the console.

The last item in the PEUGEOT i-Cockpit is this 8-inch capacitive touchscreen,

perfectly positioned at the same height as the digital HUD console.

This gives you immediate access to the full range of features without having to take your eyes off the road.

The touchscreen's various features are controlled using the toggle switches designed to form a satin-finish chrome keyboard

I'm going give a quick overview of the touchscreen's different features.

The toggle switch layout has been designed according to how often the different features are used.

The features you use more often are found to the left.

The first toggle switches control media devices.

These include the radio or the music files stored on a USB that you can insert into the port found just underneath.

The second toggle switch controls air conditioning.

The third toggle switch controls navigation.

The fourth toggle switch controls the car's various driving features, as well as some settings.

The fifth toggle switch operates the phone.

And the last "App" toggle switch is used to control connected apps like "Apple CarPlay" or "Mirror Link".

As well as, for example, the PEUGEOT 5008 SUV's air freshener.

Right at the end you have the "Warnings", that are controlled with a simple button.

All of these features will be covered in more detail in future videos.

To conclude this introduction to the PEUGEOT i-Cockpit,

I will highlight the uncompromising quality of the interior, in particular the materials used

like these large sections of flecked fabric which also line the dashboard and the door panels,

never-before used in a car.

It's not about if you like it or not - it's about if it works or not (Studio Sessions, Ep. 9 Pt. 1) - Duration: 5:05.

As human beings we focus a lot on visuals. In fact 2/3 of our brain power

is constantly processing visuals, but it's not because we are capable of liking a

good story that we are capable of writing a book or painting a painting.

This video will dig into what makes a good design and how to adopt a rational

approach when we produce communication tools and when we need to evaluate if

they work or not.

I'll talk about corporate videos and try to see what would be the choices we

would make for visuals, for the soundtrack, for different parameters of

producing a corporate video. Just to be sure that we understand the same thing,

a corporate video is a video that talks about the existence of the organisation itself.

So, it does not try to sell a product or service, it explains how the

organisation works. So, let's look at three different styles among many of

corporate videos. The first style you might have seen lately on the

internet, on Facebook particularly, and that one comes from the World Economic Forum.

It's the juxtaposition of video clips and images and a lot of titles and data.

So, let's say I have to create a video, and I have the choice between this

first style, or the second style a coloured background with one speaker

actually what you are looking at on screen right now how I am presenting

myself, or eventually a third style which would be something more emotional more

powerful more human centered still talking about employees of an

organisation in this case but corporate video with with a human touch.

So, we have three completely different

visual styles, three different stories as well, but they all fit in this grander

sector of corporate videos. So, an organisation working in the public

sector or in the private sector actually as well could produce any of these

videos, so how do you choose one style over another?

Let's add an additional parameter and challenge: soundtracks. We have here three different type of

soundtracks, I gave them different names so we understand them, that doesn't mean

it actually called that way, but the first one would be "upbeat millennial"

something you would hear probably on the radio ultimately

The second type's style most probably could fit a corporate video from the European Commission,

talking about a neutral topic in a neutral way with neutral background music

[Ambient Music]

The third soundtrack type is much more indicative of the audience already.

This is more oriented towards certain type of person. Let's listen to it I called it ethno electro

[Electronic Music]

These three soundtracks are actually taken from stock music sites, so you could

pick up any of them for the video, but how do you choose which one is good?

And then an additional parameter, which we always have to deal with, which is the

tone of voice, how do we talk to people? How do we address them? What sort of

words do we use? We could choose to go for the expert high-level route using

worst such as "framework" or "guidelines" so any sort of very complex terminology

I chose the topic of "ageing society" so let's see how a newspaper would cover

all the same story. "Controversial tax scheme encourages wealthy pensioner to

emigrate to Portugal." That's a definitive title for a newspaper article, and that's a

completely different way to address the topic and to talk to people.

And let's hear how a magazine could cover the same story:

"I spent a day living like a grandmother to understand what seniors face every day."

definitely something you would read for

10 or 15 minutes in a magazine if you were encountering it, but you wouldn't

expect that from the European Commission for instance. So, the tone of voice, the

soundtrack, the visuals are depending on two parameters:

brands - who are you talking for

and the second part is who are you talking to?

Cloves.

Lemon juice.

Orange juice.

Ginger.

Thyme.

Dates soaked for 1 hour (or grapes, or persimmons).

You can strain it or drink it as it is.
