Be A Lifetime Learner PLUS Budget Video Lighting - s1e234 - Duration: 17:31.

Welcome to Episode 234… another total darkness episode. They're not even the

keys to the Acura. I don't know what I'm doing. Let's get going!

In this episode I want to explore an idea of lifetime learning, of continuing

to learn throughout your entire life. To… to… consider learning to be something

that ends when you graduate college or graduate high school… That's just wrong.

That that's going to ultimately lead to stagnation. It's going to ultimately lead

to being stuck in in a single place, and and I would argue that the healthiest

happiest people are the people who are lifetime learners, who follow their

curiosity from one learning experience to another throughout their life,

continuing to add to who they are and what they're able to do and things like

that. There's a lot of research that is suggesting that continuing to push

yourself into into old age and it is a way of keeping Alzheimer's from

developing that you are constantly creating new neural paths and new new

connections from old information to new information outpaces the degradation of

the neural pathways that seems to be a contributor to the Alzheimer symptoms so

lifetime learner be someone who learns and tries things and experiments so

let's see if you know these lights off and I got this headlamp thing it's all

these LEDs I know this awesome there there's your and now it's dark I've

already got the keys out of car turning off the lights

let's see if we can get in this would be the day that have extra bags

so I'm gonna shoot the tutorial video today I was gonna shoot it yesterday the

it's a Photoshop plug-in called portrait Pro I'm gonna shoot it this afternoon I

was goodbye I said I was gonna shoot it yesterday except I couldn't get the

license activated through the firewall so I had to go to my laptop home and

activate license and now I'm ready to go ready to shoot this thing alright we've

got to the door see if we can get in alright

Coffee time

I'm sure this is how all the AC and Peter and Maddy that's how they do it

I'm sure that that's how they carry all their alright we'll get this thing

started in just a second so I'm in I'm settled now I'm gonna make

coffee for me you may have noticed why am i like my coffee a certain

temperature and this fits too cold it's like and if it's too hot it's like ah so

this is kind of still in there those aren't really words you may have noticed

the disarray as I was coming in this is where I did I did the I dropped uh be

the BB this morning my eyes what in the Hat always I don't know who is that

talking about oh yeah the mess so that turned out to be B the BB filming that

that that turned out to be far more complicated in reality than in concept

the concept I thought this is easy I'm gonna roll some steel balls down a hot

wheel track first of all the BB is so small you can't really see it on the

camera at 24 frames you know for per second no BB mm couldn't see it so I

just started with the medium you know the little small ball bearing but just

getting them to all the the shotput resists so there's momentum the shotput

weighs four kilograms and the golf ball weighs about 44 grams big big difference

there so i had the chocolate had to be so perfectly balanced almost ready to

roll in order for the do the math if you're a

you know engineer or physicist or something anyway I haven't cleaned up

yet but I have students in this room today and they can move the desks back

like each each student can move one desk and done so that's be the baby I think

that is a cool concept the idea that one small act of kindness one small gesture

one small word of encouragement one small word of endorsement can begin a

domino effect that has a huge huge reaction be that thing in someone's life

say something nice to the manager say something nice to whomever be that be be

well where are we going today we're trying to be lifetime learners today

don't stop learning just just keep at it keep learning keep adding things even if

it's just learning a hobby and on and as you become older pick up a new hobby if

you're in the middle of a hobby if you're if you're making videos try

something different try moving your lights around try moving your microphone

try using a different camera inside your car while you're while you're driving

keep trying different things if you're a painter and you've been painting and in

watercolors for 20 years and you're a master at watercolors jump into a

different medium use acrylics or oils or something do something a little

different I really don't know what I'm talking about I should I should take an

art class at some point but I've seen them use those little metal thingies

like spatulas and there's a hand gesture that we will not know what that ever

we'll never know what that means I'm gonna I'm gonna do a rant now

I was gonna do a rant about something that I just learned about something I

learned about yesterday and it is so stupid but I'm afraid if I just rant

about it that the people who haven't heard about it will go home we'll the

try to it's a stupid thing someone is like stupid and then they go hey guess

what I just did and like what and then everybody else Jake followed lemmings

off the cliff lemmings jumping off the cliff into stupidity I'm not going to

tell you what it is I'm just going to tell you that I was so I was like I was

like facepalm I roll head bang that's how stupid this thing is it's like what

are you thinking and and after the first person did it why would other people do

it I can't even it's so I can't I'm just afraid to even mention what it is

because there's so many stupid people who would be like I've never heard of

that I'm gonna try it too it is just more evidence that the entire fabric of

society is on the brink of anarchy that that's all so there's there was my not

rant I'm sorry that was that was a not rant I don't know what that was but it

was random at least random at least alright be a lifetime learner be a

lifetime learner I'm gonna drink some coffee and kind of get ready get ready

for the day

I've had I've had a question - believe it or not over like how do you do your

lighting how do you do your how do you do your setup so I'm gonna take a real

quick video of my of my setup so we'll start the camera there's all kinds of

light so there's there's the camera on the the very cluttered and desk and then

I have a little desk lamp I'll turn the lights on to show you right back so I

have this desk lamp here and the desk lamp came it came in a this bag thing

that's my diffuser is the the bag that that came with with the desk lamp that

is a LED household LED bulb that is a clamp like like you would clamp on to a

shelf and that is a there's a JCPenney bag that's my diffuser it's also an LED

this one's 100 watt I don't that is I got that a little extra cable and I got

the mic the mic is just right there almost in frame sometimes it is in frame

because I'm not careful enough there there's the mic that's my that's my

setup in my classroom that is that's my photography area of where I do you know

photography club and that's my clutter area and so I put all my clutter that's

all photography junk and then that's junk mail and then boom this there it is

there it is in all its glory and then there's a shelf when I've got jumping

rocks by alright wow that that had to be so

all right I'm gonna follow up on the lighting thing just just kind of an

editorial here then this is also this will be your science lesson for for this

episode people be like I spent all this money on this big light thing I'm just

big and it's the big diffuser thing is a great idea and the really bright bulb

was a great idea that lights up that whole diffuser but in at the end of the

day photons go through the lens and strike the the sensor and where those

photons come from is not very important if they come from a seven dollar Walmart

LED bulb and shine through a piece of plastic wrap as a diffuser they are

still photons the the direction the diffuser changes the direction but it

does not change the frequency of the photon the photon is the photon is the

photon it has a energy level and that energy level is a color we perceive that

energy of the wavelength of the light it doesn't matter where it comes from if it

comes from the farthest star in the galaxy and it's still a photon it still

is traveling at the speed of light it still has a set energy level so the

point is that seven dollar bulb that I bought at Walgreens creates the same

energy as the 700 dollar lighting kit that someone may buy for their studio

now what is the advantage of the 700 are like he has remote controls and being

able to vary the brightness of the ball and having the mechanism of holding the

diffuser in place and the bigger the diffuser and the the more that the

softer the light becomes and the angles of the light all kind of becomes it

becomes like a parallel wave rather than a radial way there's a lot of reasons to

have really expensive lighting gear but at the end of the day photons go through

that lens and if they come from a seven dollar bulb

they're still photons you can't get it back on the desk do you have to spend a

lot of money to have a good light no just need to understand light that's why

we take science classes that's why we take physics this was a lot longer than

I thought it was going to be it's a good lesson one more quick thought on the

photons it doesn't matter where they come from but it does matter what color

temperature they are if you're if you know if you're in the video you know

we've got color temperature and that is basically a measure of the energy of the

photon and what we want is things that are natural daylight and LEDs come in

daylight color the or those sometimes we'll say 5,000 K or 5400 K so something

in that range if you're if you're buying bulbs the ones I bought from Walgreens

that said daylight bulb color temperature you're looking for is like

fifty five fifty four fifty to five thousand something something along there

to give you a nice daylight color there now now it doesn't matter if you get

fifty if you get something if you get a daylight color ball but doesn't matter

how much the bulb it's still a photon the wavelength is the same and in the

lens and on the sensor creates a pixel that's how it works

so $7.00 bulb

that's lamb it's flexible bends I spent way too long on this

I saw an interesting thing happened today this guy some person has acquired

my picture and has created an imposter Facebook account

my my actual facebook address is bill dot Snodgrass one not 756 756 not me I

reported this obvious imposter account to Facebook so not me emails my picture

anyway reminds me of the Instagram the Joe

Rossi incident which occurred while back on Instagram all right

lifetime learner you you've got a you got to keep learning things and let's

let your mind continue to expand let your mind continue to grow don't don't

just settle for what you already know or you'll be stagnant you won't you won't

grow you won't change and and with without change you know that's kind of a

scary prospect you're always doing things the way that you always used to

do things

and I could go into a big long technology and if you tried to still

make you know the old ways and blot all that stuff I will spare you that I hope

you enjoyed my long science lesson on light with photons and photon energy

hopefully if you're into photography or videography that would be something that

would be interesting to you so then once you understand how why it works then you

can use it to your advantage that should probably be enough for this episode be a

lifetime learner keep learning things keep trying things keep doing things

just don't don't give up and don't settle for the way things always have

been thank you for watching hope you enjoy this episode do all that stuff

with the likes and the clicks and all that things they'll love your comments I

love to interact with you down in the comments section that is all I have for

this one lunch time is almost over I got about five minutes and so I'll see you

tomorrow

you

The letter which moves me to shed tears… Sorry I have to enter the military - Duration: 10:45.

[The story in military service] To do something crazy.

Eating Show

Explode ~

[Reading letter] Love you so much.

[Stop recording] We finish reading letter.

[Serious] Really really depressed and scared.

[And tears] I'm sorry.

[If you are curious, fixed the channel! even you aren't]

Hello, Ayomis!

Today, actually

[We'll read a letter to each other at the training camp :D] we prepared the contents of reading the letters at the training camp,

I haven't eaten lunch so I asked to eat pizza,

Right!

But the pizza hasn't been delivered till late, then I said let's have it after shooting,

[As soon as we started, pizza has been delivered ;-;] As soon as we started shooting, the pizza arrived.

So we are excited, so.

Yeah.

[Five minutes ago] Now, let's shoot it. one, two, three!

one, two... [knock, knock, knock]

I'm coming!

Looks delicious!

Wow.. It looks awesome.

[After setting pizza]

So we changed quickly the contents as read letters and eating show.

Originally, it is only for reading letters, The Pizza is came?

Wanna eat shrimp?

Mungyi wants to eat potato!

Then I try to eat potato.

Awesome.

[Heavy topping]

[Let's begin] Let's eat. we will enjoy this food!

[Squish it into the mouth]

Unexpected ASMR

This is it!

Right?

The pizza is really good but we haven't been eating.

Right!

[Talk something guys]

But The large size is quite smaller than what I expect it?

True. It would be disaster if we ordered regular size!

Yeah!

[This is not peeving, I'm worried] This video might be uploaded during the night, our Ayomis would be hungry.

This...Crust Cheese Pizza. I ordered additions with 4000 won.

[Happy] Mmm... yummy!

Yeah!

Shall we talk something after eating one more piece?

Okay!

Because it is going to be cooled down.

Right!

Just give me a moment. We will read letters soon!

[Maniac of Hot sauce] With massive hot sauce~

[Eating show again]

Mmm~! The shrimp is also awesome.

yeah!

[Just eating]

So good! which is better?

[This one]

[We ate them in an instant]

I should read the letters after eating two pieces..?

Oh, right! I stop eating.

At first, I got this much of letters from Yomi,

It is a lot, obviously. This is all letters.

This is letters as well. And this is also.

[We picked some letter after reading in advance] We picked some funny letters

after reading in advance

because it is too much letters even it is only when he was in training camp.

Right. Funny and sympathy !

How much letter I have got from Mungyi,

Immense isn't it?

I've got this much !

100, more than 100 letters!

More than 100!

even 100.. almost 200 letters!

Nah, it is much more if it is including online letters.

Right, almost 300 letters. Sometimes, I wrote online letters more than 2 each day.

So now I summarize this much...

Actually, the contents aren't so different.

Love you, Miss you, Trust each other, I can wait for your mandatory military service,

[Daily routine 20% Expressing emotions 80%] This is 80% really.

Except this, "I did something and something." We just talk our daily life.

Then I will read the letter first.

[Anniversary after entrance in the army] We were 600th anniversary, but we couldn't be together,

we were depressed, at that time.

Right, I was in the training camp at that time.

yeah.

My military colleagues wrote me a rolling paper for the 600th anniversary!

I had congratulations from Don Spike!

Congratulation of your 600th anniversary, I support your love~ Don Spike.

[feeling funny~ gathering celebrities!] Please someone do that let me not hear sounds looking for Woo-Gyeon ~ Sanchez.

And finally, from Yomi

no matter what they say, I celebrate 600th anniversary more than them and thank you.

I will take care of the next anniversary and I'll love my sweet puppy the same forever.

Don't be depressed, Cheer up!

The word of 'Don't be depressed' should have been included.

that word was really essential!

So after getting this letter, Amung's online letter!

The letter for 600th anniversary was delivered (cry) What happened to you guys nick names?

Like this

So happy and showing off in the cafe and really happy.

I really love you. The hormone of happiness was exploded~~~

The hormone of happiness was exploded~~~

Even though we are not together, let's connect with our mind.

We said like this.

Let me read in order of time.

Thanks for your letters, I'm almost cried.

Really love. Never change my mind.

Really love you. Your letter should be precious for me.

Love you really. You might think about me a lot?

I'm so scared and afraid, might keep crying.

Really love you, I'm going crazy.

[Same emotion with Yomi...] But I had same feeling at that time.

I will tell you your feeling at that time.

This one is the first one, so It is going to be erased.

It's tattered.

I have lots of word for you, I don't know what word is better to start,

I erased it and write, repeat it.

[A letter written with careful attention] First, how I have food well, something like that.

I will miss you all the time and live with worries about you.

Hold on for a month, my love.

[Next, the letter which makes her cry] I cried a lot after reading it?

I was crazy because I couldn't sleep well, my tears keep coming out.

Hurt my mind, painful.

[Heartrending with 'I'm sorry to go to the army.'] It was crazy at that time.

I'm not crying.

I'm getting rid of makeup... I'm not crying...

Are you alright...

[Overlapped the memories] Just remind the emotions of that time...

I read this and I know what kind of mind it was.

[Joking to make her laugh] Hahaha! No, I'm not crying...

Not crying. And actually it was...

Today's reading letters will be finished.

We are going to do.. Let's do eating show today~!

Hey guys, you know?

I almost have tears!

[Right? if someone worries about me, tears flow more ;-;] If someone have sympathy, burst into tears.

Please pretend you do not know. I was so worried about reading this letter.

[Feeling sad] He doesn't like unfamiliar environments...

He said he would be cried if I write down more, but I was cried with writing letters.

Ah Gap-bun-tti... I'm sorry.....

Once I feel so emotional, I'll eat up and calm down. Ayomis...

Hot sauce.

Hot sauce.

Thank you.

This is good even it is cooled down!

Absolutely!

Why?

Do you know what I really feel unfair?

Ayomis might misunderstand, I'm easily moved to tears.

[Time of Explanation] I've never been cried in front of my friends.

[Tear Buff - I'm weak at Mom and Yomi!] I'm getting weaker at Mom and boyfriend.

Would you agree?

It's called a tear button!

Am I easily moved to tears?

Yes!

How you cried during our vacation!

[I'm getting there] I'm full...

the 3 pieces are big enough right?

[She eats like a bird] It is enough to eat three pieces of pizza which is same size with my face?

[Talking when he was in the training camp] I wouldn't know when Yomi calls to me as reward,

I was holding my phone every single time.

But, he called me when I was taking a nap of all things.

[Lots of missed calls ;-;] I felt something wrong and I saw my cell phone, I got a missed call.

At that time, I did really crazy things.

[Have strong heart - asked executive directly] I asked the executive then I called you.

I'm going crazy because I really miss my girlfriend.

yeah.

[Replaying] Hello?

Hey Yomi..

What are you doing?

I missed, I was sleeping.

But we realize that we were crying with each other, and at the end we just cried and cried.

After crying over and finish the call, hang up the phone.

I sent a long thank-you letter to the executive

I mean, what did I save his name on my phone? 'The Savior'

I've got online letter but the content is...!

[Let me self-reflection on the past]

[The contents of an uncommon letter] Suddenly, I'm so depressed, scared.

I wanted to identify your love and listen your word. Do you love me?

I had a dream.. blah blah blah...

But one of the reasons why I was so depressed is...

[Mungyi who wrote two letters everyday] I wrote online letters everyday and

I posted letters everyday,

I bought plenty amount of stamp.

I had to post when I go to religious activity,

[A tough week gap] I was so painful for the next term waiting for the letter.

So why I went Won Buddhism for religious activity!

[Military colleague 1] "Yo, you can send picture and text in Won Buddhism!"

Right!

He told me.

[Yomi] "Really?"

"Hey, every week? every week??"

"Yeah, every week, every week."

[He said that] "Let's go to Won Buddhism from next week then!"

Right!

But it was really rough at that time,

It is good memory that we can talk and laugh.

[We were talking by crying]

I hope people think

that "Oh, you've been waiting for the military service and you've got along with all the time.

You might hear some bad things. but you can see us

then throw away the bad thinking,

[I want to be a helps for couples looking at this video] This Ayo couple get along with after military service,

Why I can not?

[Relax in your heart.] I hope you will be comforted.

I really did a lot of phone calls.

Right!

I even called when I went to shit.

Right!

the men should do like this.

Right.

[good letter chosen by Yomi] This is good! This is when the Mungyi sent to me when I was in training camp, What it is

Including stamp

Inside tissue

There was shampoo which she usually use it.

That was great.

I didn't use perfume... but this flavor is still remained.

Really good.

I used various thing? really.

You didn't need to do that..

[great - I wrote it on different stationery every time!] this was my one hobby.

I just bought this extraordinary thing rather than the same stationery

made like this.

attached picture. I was so proud of myself.

really thanksful.

For you.

There is Yomi's farting happen?

Mm. Ah~

I farted, but smell was terrible.

So the same military colleague said, "Ah, fart!" While blaming

I pretend not to know, "Oh, who really is?"

I farted and I didn't expect that

people get really angry...

And I received the watch, unwrapping it and so on

suddenly, one of my bunkmates furtively touches my watch.

Is he thinking that he's some great person? Why is he touching it? I was so mad that I could spit nails

Why do you touch first, I said. I was dumbfounded and so mad that I went almost crazy.

It's so a shame that he touched. He touched here.

Saying, what brand is it?

[Developing bond of sympathy - A bro who was with me also nodded] But it was not only me who was angry, but also there was a brother who was a bit similar to me.

He had a girl friend too.

[Important thing] "Hey, you can't touch it first!" He says.

That bro, hehehe...

Then, today while reading the letter like this, we shot a surprise eating video

Severe Storms Maybe A Tornado and Possible Blizzard Conditions Weather News With J7409 - Duration: 6:22.

and a good day everybody time for weather news with j7409. the name you

know .the news you can use. today of course it's the last day of November the

30th of November 2018. and we can say goodbye to hurricane season for

another year. it's gone but there's a couple of big stories going on we've got

to check out right quick. first of all we've got a chance and a very good risk

of some severe thunderstorms late this afternoon and evening across parts of

southern Oklahoma and northern Texas into northern Louisiana and southwestern

areas through Central Arkansas. now there is a slight risk of severe thunderstorms

late tonight near the north central Gulf Coast. now these severe thunderstorms

appear likely to develop late this afternoon into tonight across parts of

the southern plains through Arkansas Louisiana and the Texas region and there

could be. I didn't say they would be. I said there could be the chance for a few

tornadoes. in addition to large hail and potentially damaging gusty winds. and as

you can see right in here this is where it's at this is 4:00 this afternoon and

then by tomorrow you can see how they're moving on across so please be aware of

this and be safe my friends once again here we go for Saturday early Saturday

and by Saturday I'd say mid morning you can see they start to dissipate but this

is early Saturday say from midnight to around 6:00 a.m. early Saturday morning

and then this evening from around 6:00 p.m. they begin to hatch up as you can

see so please be aware of this and here of course is the GFS map latest run this

morning early courtesy of tropical tidbits thank you

leave I will turn it on and I'll give you the whole spell of what's happening

now across the US this is an active weather pattern and it's going to be

developing across the plains by tonight now as a surface cyclogenesis takes

place over the Texas Panhandle region and Oklahoma in response to an

amplifying upper-level trough after producing widespread snow showers across

the Rockies today precipitation expands in coverage and intensity from the Gulf

Coast to the Upper Midwest and Northern Plains by tonight into tomorrow morning

now in the warm sector of the developing circus law multiple episodes of severe

weather are becoming increasingly likely from southern Louisiana to Arkansas to

the Texas reason now it's looking like there's also going to be the potential

for some heavy rain and perhaps some localized flooding across parts of the

middle Mississippi Valley and also near the Florida Panhandle where two inches

of rain or more will be possible when or whether yes that's another whole thing

coming up we've got a major component of this mid-latitude cyclone to the north

of West of the occluded surface low now winter storm watches and warnings are

currently in effect from central Montana to northern Iowa with the potential for

eight inches or more of snow especially across the southern South Dakota and

northern Nebraska area blizzard conditions will also be possible at

times given the strong pressure grant that is anticipated north of the surface

law making travel if you're traveling out that way very hazardous so far as

the temperatures well they're expected to be quite mild ahead of the cold front

from the southern plains to the Mid Atlantic and points south through early

Sunday as of this morning I'm like 15 degrees

warmer than I was yesterday and like I've been saying and it's not changing

tomorrow I'm going to be 30 degrees warmer and by Sunday

I might even hit 75 degrees so you can just tear on how this warmth these warm

temperatures are coming up and it's going to do just like I've been saying

all along it was really really cold just yesterday and two days ago now it's

warming up after it warms up boom it's going to get cold again now

afternoon highs could be as much as 15 to 20 degrees above normal

south of this warm front with reading as well into the 70s like I've been talking

about it reaching the mid 80s across from much of Florida however much colder

weather will become established over much of the Intermountain West and then

the northern plains by the end of Sunday when sunday comes to an end so I will

have some watches and warnings coming out for you guys about the snow also

about this severe weather that's probably going to hatch up and start

producing storms later this evening into tonight in the early morning hours of

tomorrow so when these things come into effect later this evening I'll do my

best to try to get a watches and warnings forecast out for you thank you

so much for watching please don't forget to subscribe comment and like I'd

appreciate it so very much I love all you guys I thank you for everything you

do for me and by each and every one of you have a

good day of safe day a blessed day peace loving kindness cough thanks so much for

watching

Rossi incident which occurred while back on Instagram all right

lifetime learner you you've got a you got to keep learning things and let's

let your mind continue to expand let your mind continue to grow don't don't

just settle for what you already know or you'll be stagnant you won't you won't

grow you won't change and and with without change you know that's kind of a

scary prospect you're always doing things the way that you always used to

do things

and I could go into a big long technology and if you tried to still

make you know the old ways and blot all that stuff I will spare you that I hope

you enjoyed my long science lesson on light with photons and photon energy

hopefully if you're into photography or videography that would be something that

would be interesting to you so then once you understand how why it works then you

can use it to your advantage that should probably be enough for this episode be a

lifetime learner keep learning things keep trying things keep doing things

just don't don't give up and don't settle for the way things always have

been thank you for watching hope you enjoy this episode do all that stuff

with the likes and the clicks and all that things they'll love your comments I

love to interact with you down in the comments section that is all I have for

this one lunch time is almost over I got about five minutes and so I'll see you

tomorrow

you

Ağlama Anne / Don't Cry Mom - Episode 9 Trailer 2 (Eng & Tur Subs) - Duration: 0:56.

Sometimes mothers tell a white lie in order to prevent their children from worrying.

Could a lie be white or black?

We are going through this because of you anyway!

- You saw how she has been after learning about her father. Now, on top of that.. - Don't talk nonsense!

What could my father have done to her so I had to grow up with these lies?

Looks like it is not a matter of life or death, since my father comes out of the blue after years and they end up becoming lovers.

I cannot believe what I have done because of your affair with my husband.

I humiliated myself for a woman like you.

I am not going to drop this subject.

You may kill or make my life miserable, but I will find it. I will find out who did this.

I am telling her to stay from Adnan to no avail.

She is behaving like a mother to a child which she has not born and playing wife to someone else's husband.

Damla!

Hello, I am Choi!

Thank you so much.

This is my first time to do ASMR.

I think it's funny.

I'd like to tell you one famous saying about this.

Abraham Lincoln said,

Most people are about as happy as they make up their minds to be.'

I think I'm as happy as I've made up.

How was your day?

I wish all~~~~of our fans are happy.

Today and tomorrow.

Hello, I am Kyungjin of L.A.U.

My ASMR that prepared with the book, 'Courage to be Disliked'.

And, I am going to talk about a sentence wherein.

The sentence is that

If there is competition at the center of human relationships, humans cannot free themselves from misery and unhappiness.'

Of course, for living in this society, there's a certain amount of competition needed though.

Too much competition

gives stressing out and hiding for myself.

I have this kinds of mind,

maintaining a smooth and good relationship with everyone.

I always think about my relationship.

But even if I've tried continuously, it's definitely tough.

I hope you won't compete with the people around you.

Oh, and you did a great job today.

What is Acai and Why It's Amazing For Your Health - Duration: 3:18.

If we were to rank every single fruit to see which one is the most nutritious, acai would

be at the top of the list.

This fruit is originally from Brazil and is considered by many to be a superfood due to

its numerous health benefits.

In today's video, we're going to show you some of acai's benefits and give you a list

of reasons to start including it in your diet.

It's rich in antioxidants Do you know what antioxidants are?

They're substances that protect our cells from free radicals.

In excess, free radicals can contribute to the development of chronic diseases such as

atherosclerosis, diabetes, and high blood pressure, as well as degenerative diseases

and even some types of cancer.

On the ORAC index, which measures the anti-oxidation capacity of foods, acai ranks far higher then

any other known fruit, up to four times more then the famous goji berries.

It's good for your skin Apart from the antioxidants, acai is rich

in zinc, which contains healing properties.

Acai oil is largely used in the making of cosmetics since it promotes elasticity, hydrates,

and prevents premature aging.

It improves digestion A recent study has shown that eating acai

changed our intestines' bacterial fermentation, promoting a more protecting effect on our

intestines.

Furthermore, the researchers observed that the levels of good bacteria increased and

the levels of bad bacteria decreased.

This special fruit also contains fiber that can improve bowel movements and contribute

to weight loss.

It's good for your brain As we age, the oxidation and inflammation

of our brain cells can negatively impact our learning capacity and memory.

This happens because our brain loses its ability to "clean up" the toxic cells.

Acai can improve this "cleaning ability" and protect the rest of our brain cells.

It fights cancer Foods like acai prevent cancerous cells from

forming and spreading.

In one study, acai pulp was even able to reduce the appearance of some types of cancer such

as colon and bladder cancer.

It's great for our heart Açaí contains high levels of anthocyanin,

a substance responsible for its strong coloring, which is also very beneficial for our heart's

health.

Furthermore, acai is rich in phytosterols which help lower bad cholesterol levels and

control blood pressure.

Acai is also known as a powerful aphrodisiac.

There are several other benefits that can be obtained by eating acai, due to its a high

nutrient content.

For example, the calcium it contains contributes to our bone and teeth health and the potassium

is great at preventing painful cramps.

Although it may contain all of these benefits, everything should be consumed in moderation,

especially acai, due to how caloric it is.

Since it doesn't taste very good on its own, most of the time it's sold mixed with other

fruits and syrups that can contain lots of sugar.

Toy Master Ruins Maya's Birthday Party - Duration: 16:43.

(pencil scratching on paper)

- [Small Voice] Tic, Tac, Toy

- This video is sponsored by Osmo.

Bye Avery by Sophia, thanks so much

for coming to Maya's birthday party.

See you girls later.

(upbeat music)

- Wow Maya, you got tons of Osomo kits

and games for your birthday.

- I know, that's all I had on my birthday list.

I can't wait to get these babies opened, Addy.

- Detective Agency, Coding with Awbie.

These look so cool!

- Wow birthday girl!

You really scored today.

Tell you what, let me get the Ipad

and you guys can start setting up your Osomo.

- Awesome! - Awesome!

(Uubeat music)

- Which one are you gonna open first?

- Hmm. Osomo Creative Kit.

- Is that this one Maya?

- Yeah that's it!

I heard that Mo is so funny and adorable.

- Who's Mo?

- It's this cute orange fuzzy monster.

(laughing) - He is pretty cute.

Well, I'm gonna go clean up the kitchen

and cut the cake.

Who wants a piece?

- Me! - Me!

- I thought so. You girls have fun

and I'll let you know when it's cut.

- Bye.

- [Lucy] See you in a bit.

- [Toy Master] Assistant, this is the Toy Master speaking.

I have an important mission for you today,

are you up to the challenge?

Report to the top address on this paper.

Enter the residence without being noticed

and take the objects form the dining room table.

Then deliver the objects to the bottom address.

My top secret toy dungeon!

Make sure you are not followed!

Do you understand the directions?

Then go now assistant!

(upbeat music)

- [Maya] Here's a banner board.

- Okay next we need the Ipad base, Maya.

Then the Ipad.

- Next we need the red reflector.

It covers up the camera.

- Yeah, that's when it unlocks the magic.

- Well, I think we have everything setup.

Let's get started, Addy!

(upbeat music)

- Ooh, nothing better than a little bit

of birthday cake.

This looks good!

Have to eat this before the ice cream cake melts.

- [Addy] Oh press play, Maya.

(grunting)

(laughing) That's Mo!

- Hello new friend!

I'm Mo!

What's your name?

- We're Addy and Maya. - We're Addy and Maya.

- Please to meet you!

Welcome to the land of imagination!

(trumpets)

To create something here you need

to draw something down there.

Let's give it a try. Draw a balloon.

- I'll draw a balloon!

(upbeat music)

- I like the blue.

Looks good Maya.

- Now to pull it in. Stand back.

Cross your fingers.

(grunting)

- Whoa, he took the balloon I drew

on the creative board and put it on the Ipad.

- Wow, that's so cool!

- What do you want to do?

We can put on a magic show,

draw a bedroom, or go on an adventure.

- Let's draw the bedroom.

- Oh, I was hoping you'd choose this.

I've always wanted my own bedroom.

Could you clear the board and draw a star?

- I want to draw the star!

(upbeat music)

- Fill it in now Addy.

Looking good Addy.

(mysterious music)

(upbeat music)

- Okay, all done!

- Nice!

(magical music)

(chiming)

- Oh my gosh, he made wallpaper out of your stars!

(mysterious music)

- How about something cool to look at?

Could you clear the board and draw a window?

- I'll draw the window in blue.

(upbeat music)

(mysterious music)

(magical music)

- Hey girls!

The cake is cut.

Want to come in the kitchen?

- Ooh!

- Mo, we'll finish drawing your room in just a minute.

Delicious!

- So, did you girls get the Osomo up and running?

- Sure did and we even played games with Mo!

- I bet you girls would also like the

Pizza Company game and the Detective Agency.

- I want to try to learn the coding games.

You can actually learn to code

and make cool music at the same time.

- Wow. It sounds like you two have

a fun filled day ahead of you.

I think I'll just be here eating cake all day.

- Me too!

(dramatic music)

(rustling)

(zipping)

- That was such a fun party wasn't it, Maya?

- It was the best!

(phone ringing)

- Oh, excuse me, let me see who this is.

(ringing)

Hello?

- [Toy Master] Hello! This is The Toy Master.

I'm just calling to wish Maya

a very happy birthday.

Hopefully, she wasn't too attached

to her Osomo Play System,

or that monster game.

(beeping)

- You okay?

Who was that?

- Oh yeah, uh, it was just a wrong phone number.

Excuse me for just one second.

(dramatic music)

Oh no, the Toy Master strikes again!

It's all gone!

Ugh!

And he's gone too.

Okay, what to do?

What to do?

Okay, think Lucy, think.

What's this?

Now this looks important.

- Dad, can I have another piece of cake,

when I'm finished with this one?

- Hey girls, um, why don't you come here

and help me clean up real quickly.

It is a big mess in the other room.

- Can't they wait a few minutes?

They're still finishing up their cake.

- Um, I think they need to clean it up right now.

It is a giant mess. Come guys, hurry!

- Okay. - Okay.

(bright music)

- Shhhhh.

- Where did all the Osomo's go?

- Shhhh. I didn't call you girls in here

to clean after all. We have a bit of a situation.

- Don't tell me the Toy Master was in here.

- Well, it looks like it.

Either that or the Toy Master Assistant.

- So, what are we gonna do?

I want my Osomos back.

- Well, let's come sit down.

I want to show you girls something.

Right over here.

So he left behind this piece of paper.

I think it's pretty important.

As you can see there are two addresses on it.

The top one is ours. The bottom one,

I don't know.

- Maybe that's the address where he took all

of Maya's birthday presents.

- You know what?

I'm kind of thinking the same thing Addy.

- Well then, we need to find that place.

- As you girls know, being a toy spy

is a very important job.

Full time, and sometimes you even have to

accept important missions on your birthday.

- Wow, I'm up for it.

I want my Osomos back.

- But what do we tell dad?

He still can't know we're toy spies, can he?

- No he cannot. This has to remain a secret.

If you girls are really up for this mission

I'll let you go hunt down the stolen toys.

I'll tell dad that you took the Osomo up to your room

and all the games, you're playing with it.

He'll never know.

Are you sure you girls are up for this?

- I'm up for it. It sounds like a plan!

- All right then!

You girls don't forget this address

and good luck!

- Okay then. - All right, we got this!

(tense violin)

- A magic show!

Great!

To the theater!

Before we perform, we'll need a stage.

Could you clear the board and draw a music stage?

Sturdy lines, great form, a magnificent stage

for a magic act.

(magical music)

All right, on with the show!

- How much further can this be?

It's so long and dark and scary here.

- I don't know, I agree it's spooky though.

- [Addy] It's so scary, I don't feel like being

out here right now.

- I know, I wish we could stop.

But we have to finish this mission

for the Toy Master.

- Uh huh.

- Okay Maya it has to be a little more that way.

(spooky music)

(orchestral music)

(ringing)

(beeping)

- [Toy Master] This is the Toy Master!

Report back to the hide away in the woods

immediately for your next mission.

(beeping)

(spooky music)

- Oh my goodness, what is this place?

- I have no idea but it gives me the Heeby Jeebys.

- Agreed, I have shivers on my arm just being here.

- Check it out Maya, there's your Osomo.

- And it looks like somebody has been playing on it.

Let's pack this thing up and get home quickly.

- Well hang on here just a second,

maybe there's some good intel that

we can share with the CTIA.

We should at least take some pictures

of this place before we go Maya.

- Definitely Addy, the CTIA is gonna

totally want to know about this creepy place.

- I want to get a picture of this skeleton first.

(clicking)

- [Maya] Totally creepy.

What do you think all

these wires and cords are for Addy?

It can't be good.

- I don't know but I'll get a picture of them.

(clicking)

- All this creep stuff on the ceiling.

- Yeah, I bet those are filled with spiders

or bats or something like that.

I'll get a picture.

(clicking)

- And what's this heavy thing?

It's like a giant hammer.

- I'm definitely getting a picture of that.

(clicking)

- This is all way too creepy for my taste.

- Hey, what do you suppose are behind those

big blankets over there?

- Wow, Addy, you won't believe it.

- Wow, tere are bins and bins of toys behind this blanket.

- Remember when we found that hide away in the woods

and it was stuffed with toys?

- Of course I do.

- Well, this must be another place for

the Toy Master to keep his toys that he steals.

- Well, I'm glad we found this place

but now that we've taken pictures

let's get out of it.

- I don't think I've ever heard of a better idea

- Well, if you can hold the door open for me

and I'll put all the Osomo toys in this box

right here, then we can head out.

- Sounds like a plan!

(bright music)

- We may have a bit of a situation.

The door is locked.

- Okay well don't panic yet.

There's another door over this way.

(spooky music)

Okay, now it's time to start panicking, Maya,

this door is locked too!

- This is so creepy!

I don't want to be stuck

in this old dungeony place.

- At least we're not alone.

We got Mo with us here.

- Maybe Mo wouldknow what to do.

- What do you want to do?

We can take a bath,

redraw the room, draw a kitchen

or explore the house.

- I don't know what to do.

Let's just try drawing a kitchen.

- This is a kitchen!

It's making me hungry just thinking about it.

Oh, how about some wallpaper first?

- Hey, you know how Mo take the drawing

we draw on the creative board and puts it on the Ipad?

- Uh huh.

- Maybe with a little magic, we can draw an object

and Mo can help us bring it into real life.

- Okay, but then what will we draw to get out of here?

- A key to open the door.

- I suppose it's worth a shot.

- Then I'm gonna draw a key.

(uplifting music)

- All right, let's see that put in there.

- Oh, wonderful!

(magical music)

- Okay Maya, now that the key's on the Ipad,

we need just a little bit more magic.

Close your eyes and wish really, really hard

that the key would appear in real life.

- [Both] I wish the key would appear.

I wish the key would appear.

(magical music)

I wish the key would appear.

Look, a key!

- That really was magic.

You unlock the door,

I'll finish packing up the Osomo.

- Come on, Addy, it worked!

(upbeat music)

- Oh good!

Here they come.

Perfect, girls I'm so glad you got it.

Listen, Daddy said he's gonna go check on you two

in just a minute.

You guys gotta get upstairs

and start playing with the Osomo, okay?

Quiet, quiet.

- Maya, press play!

- Oh, you're back.

Ready to imagine?

- Yes we are!

- What do you want to do?

We can put on a magic show,

draw a bedroom, or go on an adventure.

- [Both] Let's go on an adventure.

- An adventure!

Marvelous!

Let's get going.

- Where did he go?

- I know there's a door around here somewhere.

(clearing throat)

Maybe you can help us out.

Could you clear the board and draw a fancy door?

- Ooh, I can draw a fancy door.

(upbeat music)

- Oh, don't forget the door knob, Maya.

- There we go.

(magical music)

- Look, it's my door!

- Okay, adventure, here we come!

- He disappeared again.

- Hi girls, how are you guys doing in here?

- Just great Daddy, we've been playing

with Mo for hours now.

- Yeah, you two must be glued to this thing.

I haven't heard a peep from you in hours.

- Yep, We sure are.

Want to see how it works?

- Of course I do.

- We're about to go on an underwater adventure with Mo.

- Ah, sounds like fun.

- Now, to have a proper adventure we're going

to need some scenery.

Could you clear the board and draw a bubble?

- You can draw a bubble Dad.

- Okay. On the board here?

- Yep!

(upbeat music)

- Now watch what Mo will do, Dad.

- Stand back!

This part's tricky.

(magical music)

- Whoa, my bubble is on the screen now.

- Yeah!

- Whoa, looking good!

- Well, it's getting late.

You girls better head to bed.

I'm gonna go ahead and take this downstairs.

You know, for safe keeping.

- Dad! - Dad!

- Well, I just want to make sure you girls

get a good night's sleep.

It's been a busy day today.

- He has no idea, Addy.

- No, he doesn't.

Besides, I think he just wants

to play with our Osomo.

- Well, who could blame him?

(upbeat music)

- Hi parents.

If you want more fun with Osomo

there are more magical experiences.

They have over 13 games and are growing.

You can buy them at playosomo.com,

Amazon, Target and Best Buy.

All right, girls which ones do you want to play with next?

- Pizza Company!

- I want to play with Detective Agency.

- Detective Agency, okay let's see, there's yours.

Pizza Company over here, Maya.

All right, let's go have some fun!

Top 10 Dog Breeds That Will Protect You Guard Dogs - Duration: 10:09.

You're Watching Animal Facts!

Throughout human history, one of the main jobs of domesticated dogs has been to protect

their owners and guard against unwanted people or animals.

Last time, we looked at ten small guard dogs, which were nothing more than furry burglar

alarms really.

Today, let's look at some dog breeds that actually have the heft to do something about

unwanted guests.

Let's get started, but before we start, make sure to hit that subscribe button and

click the bell icon to become part of our notification squad.

10.

Akita Inu

The Akita is one of the most loyal dogs you can find.

The Akita Inu has been described as powerful, dignified and alert.

Bred in Japan for hunting and protection, this distinguished breed will not hesitate

to take down anyone who poses a threat to its territory.

Akitas are not normally aggressive toward people but do have a very well-developed protective

instinct.

Akitas are natural guardians of the home and don't require guard-dog training.

And, they're very quiet dogs and don't bark unless there is a good reason.

When your Akita starts barking, you should pay attention.

9.

Great Pyrenees

The Great Pyrenees was once known as the royal dog of France and, with its stunning white

coat and imposing presence.

The Great Pyrenees began as a flock-guarding dog, not herding flocks, but protecting them

from predators such as wolves and coyotes.

This job called for a large, powerful, brave, and wary dog.

They'll patrol the borders of your yard or house the way they would patrol the edges

of their flock.

It's just their nature.

And, the dog's size alone is enough to discourage any would-be intruders.

Or those with severe phobias of dog hair.

8.

Rhodesian Ridgeback

The Rhodesian Ridgeback was originally bred to hunt lions.

That in itself attests to the prowess of this dog in terms of providing security.

The Ridgeback is strong and highly independent.

It's also loyal and makes a great guard dog.

They're not known to bark a lot, so if a Rhodesian barks, he needs to be taken seriously.

7.

German Shepherd Dog

Of course, the number one police and military dog was going to end up on this list.

Described as approachable, direct and fearless, the German Shepherd has grown in popularity

for its intelligence and family loyalty.

Law enforcement officers prefer this breed for its easy trainability.

Intruders, however, don't like them for their defensive tendencies.

Their confidence is a natural trait, and they will stand next to or in front of their owners

against any foe.

They are very protective of their homes and will be wary of intruders.

They're also sizable and can take down any sized human without much trouble.

6.

Giant Schnauzer

Giant Schnauzers are generally loyal and loving companions who bring joy and laughter to the

home.

But, guarding is in its genes.

Historically it has been used for a variety of functions.

Their ancestors herded cattle, guarded brewers, hauled carts, and also served as police dogs,

which some still do today.

The Schnauzer is intelligent and able to pick up new commands easily.

Giant Schnauzers are proud, territorial dogs, whose size helps make up for their refined

appearance.

They are quite powerful dogs, capable of effectively defending their family.

5.

Tibetan Mastiff

Tibetan Mastiffs are some of the most reliable guard dogs around.

They were developed in Tibet, as their name suggests, centuries ago, primarily as guard

dogs for both property and livestock.

As the breed developed and became larger and more reliable, one dog would often act as

a guard over an entire village.

Modern Tibetan Mastiffs that are bred in the West are still very alert, protective watchdogs

but they are no longer aggressive.

One of the largest dog breeds, growing to a height of 30 inches, these dogs can weigh

as much as 250 pounds.

An intruder would be facing a sizable obstacle.

4.

Komondor

Since about the 9th century, the Komondor has been the king of Hungarian flock dogs,

guarding sheep at pasture.

They're confident and tough enough to run off wolves and other ferocious beasts of prey.

The dreadlocks give the dog a cool, funky look, but they aren't for show.

They provide protection from extreme weather and sharp-toothed predators.

The Komondor is characterized by imposing strength, dignity, and courageous demeanor.

This is a large, muscular dog with plenty of bone and substance.

The Komondor is wary of strangers and fiercely protective.

In households today, the Komondor serves as a dutiful guard dog for its human "flock"

as well as a devoted companion.

3.

Rottweiler

With its strength and protective nature, the Rottweiler was originally bred to herd cows.

Its intimidating size is usually enough to ward off any trespasser, but if they feel

their area or their family is in danger, the Rottie will take an offensive stance towards

an invader.

Rottweilers are on the shorter side by guard dog standards, but their physical power is

both impressive and immediately obvious.

2.

Doberman Pinscher

Dobermans excel in most protection-oriented applications.

They were after all bred to protect "tax-collectors".

Dobermans are very loving, sensitive dogs, who also possess the bravery, size and imposing

appearance to make them one of the best guard dogs available, who are instinctively compelled

to protect their homes and families

Dobermans are in the same size class with Rotties and German Shepherds, but Dobermans

are a bit lighter on their feet than these other breeds.

Dobermans – like shepherds and Rotties – are sensitive, loving, loyal, intelligent and

brave dogs.

Before we get to number one, make sure to come back next week as we check out some cute

small dog breeds that look like teddy bears.

1.

Bullmastiff

Originally bred to deter poachers, bull mastiffs have provided protective services to their

humans since their beginning.

Bullmastiffs exhibit most of the same traits of a great guard dog: They're loving, affectionate

and unquestionably protective.

Bullmastiffs are very large, powerful dogs, who often exceed 110 pounds in weight.

The large size of this breed is intimidating to intruders.

However, the breed is naturally affectionate towards its family, making this an excellent

companion.

The Bullmastiff is a natural protector that simply needs training in order to provide

structure and reinforce its natural guarding instincts.

I know, I know … we didn't include the Belgian Malinois.

Why not?

Well, the Belgian Malinois is an intense dog.

While the breed could have easily made the number one spot on this list, this breed needs

to always have a job to do and really needs specialized training to keep its natural abilities

in check.

Do you rely on a dog to help protect your family?

If so, which breed helps you sleep securely at night?

Let us know in the comments below.

All of the dogs in this list are large, powerful dogs.

Many of which have willful personalities.

If you're considering getting a large dog for protection, we highly encourage you to

do a lot of research on them.

While most of the dogs can be loyal family pets, most breeds of dogs have some must-know

caveats.

Just know what you're getting into before running out to buy a dog of any size.

If you like this video, you can check out some of our other videos here.

Tough Questions: Is Jesus really God? | #FlashbackFriday s2e12 - Duration: 8:08.

OK, so I wear this every single day, but do I believe it?

Should you believe it?

(selah – musical break)

Well, good morning brothers and sisters, and happy Friday!

Welcome to Mission: Zer0!

If this is your first time here: my name is Shawn, and this is Flashback Friday, the show

where we take stories from the past and apply them to the present to create a better future!

Thank you SO much for watching, and since this is the first full week back from a holiday

if you were in America – last week was Thanksgiving week – you're kind of not feeling it,

so go ahead and take a really long lunch and just watch everything we have!

This week we've been tackling really tough questions, and I think the way we should wrap

this up, this week, is with a real doozy of a question, and that is: is Jesus God?

And we're going to do that by exploring a story out of Matthew 16, specifically verse

16, which reads, "And Simon Peter answered, 'You are the Christ.

You are the Son of God.'"

And the room goes silent.

(selah – musical break)

You know that moment where you blurt something out and you instantly feel tiny, and terrified,

and like the entire world is staring at you?

There is an ocean of time between verse 16 when Peter says this and verse 17 when Jesus

answered.

And the Bible doesn't talk about that, but you and I know that it was there.

This was an eternity for Peter to wonder if what he just said was accurate.

And I'm sure that starts with going, "No; this guy – this friend of mine – I've

watched Him heal the sick, I've watched Him raise the dead.

I've watched Him teach in mind-blowing proportion to experts that have spent their entire lives

studying the Law, and He's just snapped out words that destroy their entire philosophies.

So, yeah, what I said just has to be right."

(selah – musical break)

He sure felt justified, right?

Jesus' ways were higher than his ways, His thoughts were higher than, then Peter's

thoughts, and so – surely – this was right…

Right…?

Right?

But then it hits him.

Then it sinks in: Jesus is a Jew like he's a Jew.

This is the highest possible heresy that Peter could have ever said.

And it's so Peter's style to say first and then think about it later.

I can't imagine the regret that must have instantly hit him knowing that Jesus may have

just taken this as an insult, a most grave insult.

To be called the messiah?

To infer that He was trying to pick up that mantle?

The messiah was the savior of Israel; this was a uniter, this was a reigning king.

Jesus was some kid from Bethlehem.

Peter knew – had to know – that he may have just offended this entire room of people

that may now lynch him.

He may have just spoken his own death warrant.

(selah – musical break)

But it was also hope.

What if?

Peter starts to see this on the faces of his fellow disciples.

What if?

What if Jesus is the messiah?

And then the eternity of silence breaks in verse 17 when Jesus says, "You've got

it!

You didn't say that; the Holy Spirit gave that to you!"

But that… that admission?

That's the smaller part of the story.

Because you can't have context for that!

The people in that room barely had a context for that and they watched the miracles.

They knew what Jesus had done.

They were convinced by first-hand experience.

The apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 1:18 says that "For those who don't believe the

gospel of the cross is stupidity, but for those of us who are saved it is the power

of God."

And what that means is: you can't be told that Jesus is God.

You can't be told a revelation of that magnitude, because you have no frame of reference for

it.

You have to experience it for yourself.

(selah – musical break)

Jesus gives Peter and answer, but he doesn't actually answer Peter's assumption.

Peter has to do that; he said these words and now he has to decide if he believes them,

if he's convinced of them.

That's how faith works.

I know that's not a popular opinion, but you have to decide for yourself.

God doesn't decide for you that you believe in this, that you accept Jesus.

I see God every single day.

I feel His heart every moment.

I hear His words to me.

But I can't explain that to you.

It's foolishness if you don't have a context for it; if you haven't had that personal

touch.

(selah – musical break)

The question of "Is Jesus God?"

Cannot be answered or explained by any other person.

You have to make that decision for yourself.

My question for us, to close out this eek of tough questions, the thing to really ask

yourself this weekend and beyond: Are you open to the possibility?

Can you accept that God doesn't fit into the box you may want to put Him in?

Can you accept that the things in your life that stink, that just aren't good, that

have no good purpose are not a punishable offense, but just something to work on?

And can you believe that God is, and that God is Love, and that God is with us and in

us?

Because that set of questions: that's the only set of questions in all of eternity and

all of this life that actually matter.

Why Does the U.S. Have Birthright Citizenship? | United States v. Wong Kim Ark - Duration: 5:22.

Mr. Beat presents

Supreme Court Briefs

1868, or 1871...or perhaps 1873

Wong Kim Ark is born.

His parents are Wong Si Ping and Wee Lee, both immigrants from China and not United States citizens.

According to the Naturalization Law of 1802, the two could never become citizens because they weren't "white."

Whatever the heck that means.

Due to the Chinese Exclusion Act discriminating against them, the Wongs moved back to China, when Kim Ark was 9.

But a few years later, Kim Ark came right back to California because he wanted to make much more money.

This was not a problem for Kim Ark because, since he was born in San Francisco, he was automatically an American citizen thanks to the Citizenship Clause of the 14th Amendment.

In 1890, Wong went to China to visit his parents, and he came back home to the United States with no problem.

However, four years later when he went back to China to visit them, he was denied re-entry upon his return.

He was like "dude, I live here." They were like, "nope, not anymore. You're not a citizen."

During the five months when Wong fought for re-entry into the country, U.S. Customs kept him confined on different ships just off the coast of San Francisco.

Fortunately for Wong, he got support from an organization called the Chinese Six Companies to help him fight for his citizenship.

He went to federal district court.

So let's break out that 14th Amendment, shall we?

So there's the Citizenship Clause of it, and what they focused on the most was different interpretations of this phrase here: "subject to the jurisdiction thereof."

Does that cover when a child is born in the U.S. to parents who both are not citizens?

Wong's lawyers argued yes.

The United States had been waiting to test out the Citizenship Clause for awhile, and here was their chance.

Henry Foote, a former Confederate soldier, represented the United States, calling Wong a "accidental citizen," not the term you usually hear today, which is "anchor baby."

On January 3, 1896, the district judge sided with Wong, declaring him a citizen since he was born in the USA.

The U.S. government appealed the decision directly to the Supreme Court because...well...they could, and the Court heard oral arguments on March 5, 1897.

Soooo, COULD the government deny citizenship to people born in the United States in any circumstance?

The Court said "no."

In a 6-2 decision, they ruled in favor of Wong, declaring that any child born in the country to parents of a foreign country is automatically a citizen.

UNLESS...the parents are foreign diplomats, or the person is born on a public ship, or the parents are nationals of a foreign enemy country that is trying to take over the United States.

But yeah, you're born here? You a citizen, buddy!

The Court relied on English common law tradition just as much as they relied on the 14th Amendment for this one.

Leading the dissent was Chief Justice Melville Fuller, joined by justice John Harlan.

They both argued that the history of American citizenship broke with the tradition of English common law after it declared independence in 1776.

In particular, they wondered about the part of the citizenship clause that said "subject to the jurisdiction thereof."

Wouldn't that also mean not subject to any foreign power?

They argued Wong was still under the control of China due to his parents being under their control.

Of all Supreme Court decisions in history, United States v. Wong Kim Ark is the strongest at protecting that Citizenship Clause of the 14th Amendment, no matter what the situation is with their parents.

Over the years, millions of Americans have owed their citizenship to this case.

So how did the story end for Wong Kim Ark?

Well, back when Wong was fighting for citizenship in the courts, he had started a family back in China.

He had a wife and kids back there.

After the Supreme Court decision, Wong still went back and forth, and for the rest of his life, Wong never got to fully enjoy the benefits of citizenship.

Every time he went home to China and came back he got hounded by Customs, always having to show extra documentation like the signatures of white Americans vouching for him.

Wong's oldest son tried to move to the United States and they wouldn't let him.

However, his youngest three sons were able to move to the United States as citizens, although it was far from easy.

One of those sons later served in World War II.

But Kim Ark? He eventually stopped trying to be an American.

In the 1930s, at the age of 62, he went to China and decided to never come back.

I'll see you for the next Supreme Court case, jury!

President Trump would definitely disagree with this case, but what do YOU think about the Court's decision in this one?

Please let me know in the comments below.

Well the next Supreme Court Briefs episode will feature the most important Supreme Court decision in American history.

Just trying to build up the hype here, let's get that hype train going, eh?

Thanks for watching.

Most AMAZING Facts About Stan Lee!! - Duration: 12:05.

From comic book heroes you haven't even heard of yet to almost quitting Marvel comics altogether...stay

tuned to number 1 to find out the 10 most AMAZING things about Stan Lee!

Number 10: Making Superheroes In His 90's.

If you're not familiar with the name Stan Lee, he is the father of many of today's Marvel

comic book heroes.

He recently passed away on November 12, 2018, which is considered a great loss to his many

fans.

But what's incredible is that this superhero powerhouse was still making characters well

into his 90's.

Stan Lee's life and legacy will very much be defined by the characters he made, and

there are a legion of those characters.

But ironically, even though he had gotten out of the comics writing business in the

1990's, he was still making characters with his daughter in HIS 90's.

According to his daughter, he had been working with her on making one last superhero for

the Marvel Universe: "We have been working on a character called

Dirt Man.

[He's the] last little angel that we've got tucked away."

Apparently, the idea of "Dirt Man" came from his daughter's desire to get "down and dirty"

with a character instead of being somewhat cliche in having all the "steel" and other

parts that make many superheroes what they are.

Just the notion that Stan Lee was still creating characters so late into his life shows the

passion that he had for this industry, and the love that he had for writing.

He didn't have to do it, but he did, and whenever Dirt Man is revealed to the Marvel Universe,

he'll likely be honored for being the last creation of Stan Lee.

Number 9: He Wanted To Be A Novelist.

Surprised?

It's true.

When Stan Lee was young, he actually didn't even want to do comics, he wanted to write

novels, be a playwright, and more.

In fact, he went and did all kinds of unique jobs on his path of writing that would eventually

lead him to being a part of Timely Comics, which was the predecessor of today's Marvel

Comics.

Lee wrote obituaries, press releases, and even training films for the army.

His first big "break" in comics came from him getting the chance to write a 2-page Captain

America comic.

When times got dark for Stan, he actually lamented not writing that "Great American

Novel", but he eventually worked his way out of that funk.

Number 8: The "Stan Lee Rule."

community by subscribing!

To say that Stan Lee wrote a lot of characters is a bit of an understatement, but he did

favor some over some of the others.

But one you might not expect though is the Silver Surfer.

In fact, Lee wasn't the creator of the character, Jack Kirby was.

Stan brought him in for the Galactus arc in Fantastic Four.

But, Lee, really loved the character, and got the approval from the Marvel heads to

write the origin for him.

Then, after it was clear how much he loved Silver Surfer, Marvel made it so that only

Stan Lee could write him in series format, which he did for some time.

If you wanted to use Silver Surfer in your stories, you had to get approval from Lee.

Eventually though, his involvement would be reeled back by Lee himself, and many other

writers have gone on to write Silver Surfer.

Number 7.

Stan Lee and the Teen Titans.

Stan Lee is known in the "modern" era for his numerous cameos in Marvel films.

And yet, in 2018, he did something that he had never done before...cameoed in a DC Comics

film.

Specifically, Teen Titans Go To The Movies.

This was not advertised, and when it hit the screens, fans went nuts.

No one expected this at all.

According to the team though, it almost didn't work, because something happened while they

recorded...

"It was awesome, dude!

We got to go to [Stan's] office, and Aaron voice-directed him.

He was just up for everything," co-director Peter Rida Michail told Entertainment Weekly.

"He was very nice and very welcoming and super patient with us," co-director Aaron Horvath

added.

"Our audio engineer, his equipment broke broke, and I've never seen a person's face turn so

red or get so sweaty so fast.

He was trying to fix the board and he couldn't fix it.

So we ended up having to record Stan on like a laptop.

Our engineer was just so ashamed of himself."

But did Stan Lee mind?

Nah, he just laughed it off and did whatever was needed to finish the cameo audio.

Proving once again that Stan is most definitely the man.

Number 6: The Comics Code Got Excelsior'd.

While it may appear that comics has always been around and never been messed with, that

would be a lie.

For during the 1950's a stigma had been born that comics were influencing young kids and

teenagers to do violent acts.

And so, the Comics Code Authority was born, and set a strict guideline for how comics

should be written in terms of content.

Some of it was fair, others...restrictive.

Sure enough, in 1971, Stan Lee had an idea for a side-story in Amazing Spider-Man, where

Spidey would save a young teen from a drug overdose.

But, the Comics Code wouldn't allow that.

Stan was adamant though, and he got his publishers approval to do the story, so he did.

Not that he was trying to mess with people, he actually understood the system.

In his words: "I could understand them; they were like lawyers,

people who take things literally and technically.

The Code mentioned that you mustn't mention drugs and, according to their rules, they

were right.

So I didn't even get mad at them then.

I said, 'Screw it' and just took the Code seal off for those three issues.

Then we went back to the Code again.

I never thought about the Code when I was writing a story, because basically I never

wanted to do anything that was to my mind too violent or too sexy.

I was aware that young people were reading these books, and had there not been a Code,

I don't think that I would have done the stories any differently""

This story led to the Comics Code being seen as nothing more than a label, and not needed

to actually make comics.

So, slowly but surely, Marvel and DC Comics and other publishers started to make comics

like they used to, without the Comics Code, and now you don't see it in comics today.

Number 5.

Created The First Black Character With A Power.

Easily one of the biggest and most important movies of 2018 is the Black Panther film.

For, though he had appeared in Captain America: Civil War, this was his first solo movie,

and was the first black-led film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Would you like to guess who created him?

Yep, it was Stan Lee, and it was bigger than you might think.

You see, at the time, though there were black characters in comics, none of them were powered.

Think about that.

So Stan Lee and others came together to create the Black Panther, and debuted him in Fantastic

Four.

But more than just being a powered character, he was a king, a powerful one.

One that ruled over an entire nation in Africa.

This set a powerful trend for what characters of all races could be in comics, and that

decision has changed the world for the better.

Number 4: He Created The Marvel Method.

I want you to think about how comics are done nowadays.

Not in terms of characters, but storylines.

Most comic books have long reaching arcs, some of which stretch out for years.

Well, in the early days of comics, this didn't happen, not until Stan Lee and Jack Kirby

came up with the "Marvel Method".

It was a way for the writer to create a story that could last issues, instead of having

to come up with multiple stories for multiple issues.

This was further added upon via the artist having more creative power in how the story

was told.

This led to what are now known as multi-part stories, which would become the basis of how

the modern era of comics would work.

For after that, you could do long storylines that had more depth, more character development,

and more action, and this actually helped create names for many characters.

And it also saved Marvel Comics a few times.

Number 3: HIs Wife Was Very Important To His Career.

One of the coolest things about Stan Lee may not be that he made an army of comic characters,

that he did an infinite amount of cameos in films or what not, it's actually that he was

married to one woman in his life, and she was just as amazing as he was.

And it was because of her that many things happened, including the creation of the Fantastic

Four.

Lee met Joan Boocock in an accidental way, but the moment he laid eyes on her, he knew

that she was the one for him.

And after two weeks of dating, she agreed!

In fact, she went and got annulled from a previous marriage and then an hour later got

married to Stan Lee.

What a woman.

Stan noted many times how much Joan helped inspire things in his comics, including many

times with Fantastic Four.

But it also went beyond that, she would be there for him when things went wrong, or to

encourage him to try something new.

Ironically, she was a voice actress, and got to portray characters in the Fantastic Four

and Spider-Man animated series.

Number 2: Lee Almost Quit Marvel Multiple Times.

You might think that Stan Lee was "destined" to be in Marvel forever, but that's not the

case at all.

For, despite early successes, and helping Marvel Comics truly get off the ground, Lee

actually hated how restrictive the comic industry was.

Remember, back in the early days, comics were seen as little more than "fun stories" to

read and then never think of again, it was Lee that helped make it all happen in a way

that would change the world.

But there were many times that he almost quit Marvel for one reason or another.

Ironically, this dislike almost got him to not make one of his most legendary groups,

the Fantastic Four.

For you see, he wanted to make a team book that didn't just have random heroes together,

he wanted to make one that was a family.

But not just a family, a family that was relatable, believable, and one that would act in a way

that would make other people go, "Yeah, that's my family".

He wanted to make the book, but he knew that Marvel wouldn't go for it, but his wife Joan

pushed him to do it, so Fantastic Four got pitched, got made, and it became Marvel's

best comic in a year.

While Stan Lee did almost quit many more times before his "retirement" in the 1990's, few

times came as close as that one.

Number 1: Spider-Man Was Denied At First.

When you think about the greatest heroes in the Marvel Universe, the name "Spider-Man"

no doubt comes up in the first few selections you say, if not the first.

After all, Spider-Man was, and is, one of the most famous superheroes in the world today.

He's had numerous live-action movies, cartoons, video games, and of course, thousands of comics

made about him, his allies, his enemies, and everything in between.

Heck, the Venom movie just passed $800 million at the box office, and Spider-Man Into the

Spider-Verse is coming out soon.

But what might surprise you is that at first, Stan Lee was denied the right to make Spider-Man

a character.

Oh yeah, his publisher wasn't having it.

Why?

Well, there were two reasons.

One, apparently, the publisher didn't think that people would like the idea of a hero

being modeled off of a spider because people hate spiders and bugs for the most part.

Second, as Stan had him, Peter Parker was a teenager.

Not a rugged and good-looking adult male like Captain America or Tony Stark.

But Lee knew that this could be a character that could be great, and would connect with

teen readers in a way that the other heroes couldn't.

So he insisted that they try it, and when they did (via the Amazing Fantasy comic),

it was a hit.

The comic became a massive best-seller, and Spider-Man soon got his own series.

And the rest, as they say, is history.

What is your favorite Stan Lee moment?

basically a full-time job and that's an to boot as you say here as I've told you

before and it's right here if your article is one of the top ten most

popular for the month you get paid another $100 for that article so think

about that if you get in the top 10 of articles for that month who knows how

many you can get on the top 10 for the month who knows but that's the extra pop
