okay hi everybody welcome to my first tarot deck review I'm sorry if my hands
are a little bit dirty I just finished filming a gardening vlog which will
probably be up on YouTube soon I don't know exactly how long I'm gonna keep
going with that or when it's gonna be released but yeah so my first ever tarot
deck I was gifted by my lovely girlfriend for Christmas this past year
it's called the wild unknown tarot by Kim Krans and it was really really
popular and it came with this guide book and a lot of people will recommend not
getting a really expensive tarot deck for your first tarot deck especially if
you're not sure if you're gonna like it
but I was really really in love with the aesthetic of that deck and I got it as a
gift so it worked out you can see over here I have a mug of tea you can also if
I can do this without spilling it see that it says acio yarn I hate to be that
vlogger TM but I'm gonna be doing a lot of talking and if I don't have something
to drink it's not gonna be pretty so let me just take a sip oh my land
that's hot that is still very hot if you're wondering the tea is the pukka
pukka peppermint and licorice tea it says a sweet and deliciously refreshing
organic thrill so I'm just gonna put this out there if you guys are
interested in licorice or mint it this is a really really good tea it's one of
my favorites it doesn't taste like a twizzler like licorice like the candy
which both of those things I hate it's really sweet and really good and I think
the mint is perfect to go with with the licorice because I've had three licorice
tea before and while I liked it it wasn't quite as good because it was just
straight-up licorice but I would like to put out there it says on the back here
contains licorice people suffering from hypertension should avoid excessive
consumption and there are a few other conditions that drinking excessive
amounts of licorice are consuming it in some way it can be harmful but you'd
have to drink several cups of this a day I believe too
really have any sort of impact but I just thought I'd throw that out there
since I was telling you how great this tea is so just look it up and make sure
it's not going to interact with anything you take or anything that you
have so now that we have the PSA out of the way we can get started this is the
deck that I'm going to be reviewing today as you can see it's quite a bit
smaller than this one this is the Tarot of Pagan Cats and this was actually
the first deck I ever watched a video for and it was a mini one this size and
I feel bad that I'm kind of copying them by doing a review of the deck and
showing you the artwork but I'm really excited and I haven't looked at the deck
like the artwork for this deck since that video I'm going to try and focus it
so you can see since that video and I don't really remember much of it and I
want to share it with you guys especially since I haven't done any
Tarot videos and you can see at the top it says Tarot of pagan cats by Magdalena
Messina artwork by Lola Airaghi sorry it's a lo Scarabeo deck there I'm
sorry my hand was shaking and see the scarab right there which is what Lo
Sacarabeo means I do believe so you open it up these are really small and it's
perfect for pocket size I actually got this at a book store that specializes
mostly in second-hand books where they do sell new books too and I didn't even
know they sold tarot cards either but I makes a lot of sense none I think about
its turning up at that there look at look at this cover art sorry there's
such a glare it's gorgeous I think those are sinks cats and if you know me I love
Sphinx cats and I has the triple moon on it and I love the colors so let me just
there's one card this is their just their like card with the name of the
deck on it and stuff
Tarot of Pagan Cats and it says that in several different languages I only
know the Spanish one down here I'm gonna guess it's Italian Spanish French and
German yeah cuz I know katzen is cat like I was saying I got this from a OOP I'm
sorry I'm trying to focus that and I just jabbed it there we go hmm see this
is why we need tea I got this deck at a bookstore and they're downsizing
thankfully they're not closing their store entirely but they're downsizing so
it was 40% off so instead of being like nine dollars I think it was four or five
which is really really great so I think we're gonna go through these I'm gonna
assume they're all the right way up right now they're not like reversed or
anything actually before we get started here's the guidebook that goes with it
it's really teeny tiny and it tells you a little bit about with deck and the cards
and it gives an idea of a spread actually it doesn't tell you much about the
deck it just it goes right into the major arcana has 27 pages in English
yeah English Italian Spanish French and German there I don't want to so let's
see this should be the fool nope it is

I'm sorry so it's not the same as what's on here which is really
strange but maybe they're different editions or something maybe this is like
a callback to their first edition or something I don't know so this should be
the fool perhaps nope this is the king of swords all right you know what we're
gonna do pick these up and turn them over and I'm gonna put them over here so
you can't see them and we're gonna do them one at a time here's the fool here
I'm gonna hold it closer and fix the camera zoom I do believe there we go the
fool so he's dreaming about being on a pillow
and he's about to run off an edge and you can see it shows up at the top all
the languages down at the bottom okay OOP I keep forgetting they're not turned
over this is number one of the major arcana which is the magician going after
that wand I'm kind of surprised he's not knocking the cup off the table but maybe
the wand is more interesting
pretty kitty pretty pretty pretty key umm the paper is really nice and thick I
like the border on the edge it's not distracting I really like cards with
borders I don't have a whole lot of experience with Tarot at this point but
I really do like the cards with borders more so there's that one number two it
starts with zero by the way if you didn't notice I didn't say I don't
remember it's the high priestess and if you don't know my favorite cats or black
cats so there's that I think the other deck that I have she's the Empress maybe
I don't know here's the Empress some of the wording is changed slightly in
mine like instead of pages and kings and knights and queen you have mothers
daughters fathers sons so here is the Empress with her kittens they're so
fluffy and we have the Emperor very regal he looks like Julia's cat Gary or
as I call him Gare Bear so fluffy look at his ears I love those ear tufts
really like the background color to the red in the sky it just reminds me of
like kind of an 80s here's the hierophant he's a teacher in case you don't
know if that word means because I didn't know at first either he looks like a
grumpy cat what was I saying this reminds me of kind of like 80s or 90s
like fantasy also I apologize I didn't occur to me when I started this but if
the sounds really weird my head is actually really close to the camera I'm
kind of working around my tripod right in this the lovers like almost I
suppose that's supposed to be a yin and yang kind of thing I don't know yeah oh
they're chasing tails oh it's so cute I don't know who this guy is creeping up
there but I like how it has the day and night like dichotomy or I guess that's
life and death more so than anything but the darkness and the light reminded me
of day and night but oh there's a if you look really carefully there's a snake in
the tree is that like a call to the Garden of Eden or something maybe all
right and this is the chariot it's being pulled by peacocks like I said I haven't
seen this before I am in love it's like oh no it's a it's her tail I thought
that was a cockatiel which would have made me really excited I love that it's
being pulled like peacocks I can't wait to get to know this deck
and get to use it we have strength
la fuerza Spanish it love the way that sounds yeah she's playing playing with
the dog I guess or maybe has her foot on it I wonder if that's supposed to be a
full-sized chow chow with the cat or if it's supposed to be a miniature dog with
a regular-sized cat or is the cat ginormous it's number eight we have
number nine this might be a long video there are 70 some cards in a tarot
deck we have the Hermit Oh kitty oh look he's holding this pull the
light pole with his tail oh that's really cool it's almost a different sort
of art style if you look at the rocks but I really like that and we have the
wheel I guess this would be the Wheel of Fortune they just call it the wheel I
don't know what those runes mean on it but you can see the mice and goes around
and around and around it has sword wand cup or chalice and
pentacle which are the four suits of the tarot deck
I like the Kitty's ears all bent over like that ooh
justice la justicia it's a Sphinx it definitely has that Egyptian vibe going
on there the hieroglyphics in the background I don't really want to say
vibe that makes it sound like it's a trend or something instead of a culture
but it has the I know what you would call that um not aesthetic either theme
I guess I don't really know the right word for that but it's a sphinx cat
I love Sphinx cats black cats and Sphinx cats are my favorite I also love really
ugly cats and then we're moving on to the hanged man which i think is just too
perfect it's a cat chasing a mouse climbing the drapes and if you look down
here there's a pack of spilled tarot cards that is just too perfect and
possibly a witch's broom the four suits are in the pictures on the wall and then
we have Death
which isn't like the worst card actually very pretty kitty I like the necklace
and there's the scythe some roses look kind of like skulls but I don't think
they're really suppose do you think that's just the way I'm looking and we
have temperance or perhaps gay pride
letting go of the mouse or not the mouse the fish go love the rainbow
reflections and the rainbow itself in this cart this is gorgeous and we have
the devil and this is honestly quite terrifying in my mind I guess the cat is
I don't know if that's its mouth open or if it's holding a ball I'm try and get
my face closer to it I guess as its mouth I think it's just of like a snakes
tongue there's like a cat with rabbits ears I wonder if this is supposed to be
like unnatural or something and we have the tower which is perfect the cat
falling I don't oh that's its collar I think up here that's really nice I like
that and then we have the star or the stars cat with the candles it's really
pretty and we have the moon a dog howling at the moon there's a cat in the
moon don't know if you can see that some falling stars and then I cat with a
lobster I don't know why specifically lobster very nice mm-hmm and then we
have the Sun cat out hanging out in the sunshine this one almost has like an art
deco feel to it I think and then we have
um judgment you can see there's a cat up here judging this cat sneaking out
down here it's like Mufasa and the stars right
from Lion King and we have the world and this is the cat for that was that what
the fool is now dreaming of what actually happened he's gone from The
Fool to having what he wants has all those different things that cats like to
eat in the corners there's that's interesting you have an animal
associated with air and it will associate with water and a salamander so
fire and a mouse which I suppose you could say as Earth because they live
below the earth lighting is awful that's really cool so then we're on to the
Minor Arcana we have the one- the ace of chalices almost said the one of
chalices I apologize and in my other deck that I mentioned before it's the
cup so if I start saying cup by mistake that's why two of cups
three of cups get on Aesop's fables vibe from that one four of cups
I wonder if this one's about wanting more than when you already have plenty I
don't know the meanings of all the cards off the top of my head yeah it's not
anymore um five of cups chalices sorry I keep saying cups I know six of chalices
is coming right up there we go seven of chalices put all that yarn and pillow
the catnip fish we have the eight of chalices right here and then we have
nine of chalices he looks pretty comfy and then the ten
of chalices that's really really cute I like that I think this was actually the
first card I ever drew not obviously from this deck I haven't done any
readings with this deck yet but ever I think that was the first card I ever
drew for myself I think the first first one I drew was justice I'd had two one
card readings one for myself and one for somebody else we have the knave of
chalices so I guess that'd be the page in other decks so we have a knave of
chalices the knight of chalices he's standing on a turtle isn't he it kind of
reminds me of Avatar then we have the queen of chalices she feels like it
should be challici and we have the king of chalices who doesn't look very
kingly he looks kind of scared and confused the ace of Pentacles
the two of Pentacles I like that one like the hat that's cute
we have the three of Pentacles and these are sometimes coins I think or disks or
something I forget and then we have the four of Pentacles five of Pentacles poor
things he's hurt that one's not a good card I'm
very very empathetic sometimes to a not healthy degree this is a six of
Pentacles they're all hanging out doing stuff I want a good seven of Pentacles
oh he better be careful he's gonna catch himself on fire eight of Pentacles
nine of Pentacles
ten of Pentacles
this is the knave of Pentacles if I can get it to focus there we go we have the
knight of Pentacles riding a goat
we have the queen of Pentacles very queenly she's really pretty she reminds
me of the one cat from that show Sagwa does anybody remember that it was on PBS
like probably fifteen or sixteen years ago it was about cats that did
calligraphy they're all Siamese cats this is the king of Pentacles very very
regal this one looks a lot more kingly move the Ace of Wands interesting tree
he's stuck in the two of Wands the three of wands and those are three of the
elemental symbols but I don't remember which is which off the top of my head
you have the four of Wands they're at a picnic cute and then the five of Wands
which was where I was when the camera shut off the six of Wands looks he had
as as we say when we see cats kill in his eyes her stare eyes killing their
eyes and cats get to playing or hunting or whatever they've got the look the seven
of wands
the eight of wands the nine of wands I like the stripes on this kitty a 10 of Wands and
then we have the knave of Wands just using it as a scratching post I like
that we have the knight of Wands oh he's riding a fox okay that's cool oh I like
this one the queen of wands sometimes I look at them before I pick them up
sometimes I don't I like this one it's so cute we have the king of Wands I'm
thinking I'm just now noticing this maybe I'm a bit dull but they're all
sitting on a box in an area that represents an element this one looks
like it might be fire because it's a desert and hot the first one was water
and I think the other one was like in a mountainous region so Earth and then we
have the ace of swords that one's really pretty I like that one I mean they're
all pretty we have a two of swords but you know
some of these really stand out to me
three of swords
the four of swords snoozin it's actually not a bad idea it's a very dreary day
five swords these six of swords look at the kitty hidin down here there's seven of swords
eight of swords he's blindfolded I guess you'd be
able to tell and the nine of swords
and the ten of swords
and then we have the knave of sorts and then we have the knight of swords and if
they're each riding a different animal I'm not sure the queen of swords like
her area that she's laying on with all the flowers and I like little owl down
there I think that's an owl as opposed to a kitten whatever it is it is definitely
has a beak so it's not just a kitten and then we have the king of swords all
right so that is the lo Scarabeo Tarot of Pagan Cats turn it over so you can
look at the art on the back beautiful beautiful art on the back one more time
would you guys like to see me shuffle this deck for the first time warn you
I'm not very good at shuffling so this could go either really well because
they're smaller and easier to hold or really bags I'm not used to the size
yeah it's about par for the course I usually shuffle them like that I don't
even try to put them together and snap them together I just can't do that with
regular playing cards or with these card okay so if you all would be
interested in me doing any more videos on Tarot maybe in a video of why I do
Tarot or maybe a video of comparing this deck with my other deck or if I get
another one which spoiler alert I pre-ordered one another one so hopefully
that will be coming soon and then there's another one I have an eye on
that it was in a Kickstarter so there will definitely be new ones coming or I
