Youtube daily report w Sep 1 2018

>> Rosemary: ON THIS FRIDAY

NIGHT, NO DEAL FOR NOW.

NAFTA NEGOTIATIONS ON HOLD WITH

NO AGREEMENT REACHED.

THEY'RE TAKING THE LONG WEEKEND

TO REGROUP AND MAYBE EVEN COOL

OFF.

CHRYSTIA FREELAND SAYS A GOOD

DEAL IS STILL VERY MUCH IN

SIGHT, BUT DID DONALD TRUMP'S

OFF-THE-RECORD COMMENTS SOUR THE

TALKS.

>>> THE WAIT FOR THE TRANS

MOUNTAIN PIPELINE GETS LONGER

WHILE PATIENCE WEARS THIN.

PLUS, COULD A NEW PLAYER IN THE

E-CIGARETTE MARKET CHANGE THE

GAME?

NOT JUST FOR ADULTS APPARENTLY.

THIS IS "THE NATIONAL".

[ * ]

>> Rosemary: IF A NAFTA DEAL IS

REACHED AND THAT IS STILL AN IF

AT THIS STAGE, IT MAY BE IN

SPITE OF THE U.S. PRESIDENT AND

NOT BECAUSE OF HIM.

THE TALKS AREN'T OVER, BUT THEY

HAVE BEEN PAUSED NOW UNTIL

WEDNESDAY.

AS KATIE SIMPSON TELLS US,

DONALD TRUMP OFF-THE-RECORD

MUSINGS WEREN'T HELPING THE

MOMENTUM.

>> YOU WILL ONLY AGREE TO A DEAL

THAT IS A GOOD DEAL FOR CANADA.

WE'RE NOT THERE YET.

>> Reporter: DONALD TRUMP HAD

THREATENED TO CUT CANADA OUT OF

NAFTA IF THE CANADIANS DIDN'T

SIGN ON TO A NEW DEAL BY TODAY.

BUT THAT HASN'T HAPPENED.

INSTEAD, THE PRESIDENT SENT A

LETTER TO CONGRESS SAYING WHEN

THE TALKS FINALLY WRAP UP, HE'S

READY TO APPROVE A NEW PACT WITH

MEXICO AND WITH CANADA IF IT IS

WILLING.

* YOU CAN'T ALWAYS GET WHAT YOU

WANT *

>> Reporter: THE PRESIDENT WAS

600 KILOMETRES FROM THE

NEGOTIATING TABLE, BUT HIS

PRESENCE LOOMED.

HE HAD TO DEFEND HIMSELF AFTER

COMMENTS MADE OFF THE RECORD

ENDED UP BEING PUBLISHED.

>> President Donald Trump: ENDED

UP MAKING STATEMENTS ABOUT

CANADA, WHICH IS FINE.

>> Reporter: TRUMP SAID HE WOULD

NOT MAKE ANY NAFTA CONCESSIONS

TO CANADA, ADDING IF HE SAID

THAT PUBLICLY, CANADA WOULD BE

TOO INSULTED TO SIGN A DEAL.

>> President Donald Trump: I

SAID IN THE END, IT'S OK BECAUSE

AT LEAST CANADA KNOWS HOW I

FEEL.

IT'S FINE.

>> Reporter: CANADIAN

NEGOTIATORS CONFRONTED THE U.S.

ABOUT THE COMMENTS, BUT LATER

SAID THAT TRUMP'S VIEWS WERE NOT

BEING MIRRORED AT THE TABLE.

>> AMBASSADOR LIGHTHIZER AND HIS

TEAM HAVE BEEN NEGOTIATING IN

GOOD FAITH AND WITH GOODWILL.

>> Reporter: THAT GOODWILL IS

GOING TO BE TESTED WHEN

NEGOTIATORS SIT DOWN AGAIN NEXT

WEEK.

THE U.S. IS PUSHING FOR CANADA

TO ALLOW FARMERS TO SELL MORE

DAIRY PRODUCTS NORTH OF THE

BORDER, WHILE CANADA IS REFUSING

TO BACK DOWN ON DEMANDS THE U.S.

DROP ITS REQUEST TO KILL THE

DISPUTE RESOLUTION SYSTEM.

>> Prime Minister Justin

Trudeau: WE HAVE BEEN VERY CLEAR

ABOUT WHERE OUR RED LINES ARE.

WE'VE BEEN CLEAR WHERE WE THINK

THERE IS ROOM FOR GIVE-AND-TAKE.

THIS IS SOMETHING WE TAKE

SERIOUSLY AS A RENEGOTIATION.

WE UNDERSTAND HOW THIS WORKS.

>> Reporter: THE ONE THING THAT

EVERYONE AGREES ON, THEY'RE

READY FOR A BREAK.

NEGOTIATORS TRIED TO CRAM WEEKS

OF WORK INTO FOUR DAYS AND THEY

DIDN'T QUITE GET THERE.

>> Rosemary: WHERE IS MEXICO IN

ALL OF THIS, DO THEY NEED TO GET

BACK TO THE TABLE, TOO?

>> Reporter: THE MEXICANS WERE

SPOTTED AT THE CANADIAN EMBASSY

FOR MEETINGS, BUT THEY'RE NOT

EXPECTED TO REENTER THE

NEGOTIATIONS UNTIL CANADA AND

THE U.S. DEALS WITH THEIR

ISSUES.

>> Rosemary: THE U.S. CAPITOL

BUILDING WHERE MUCH WILL BE

DECIDED IN THE COMING WEEKS

AFTER U.S. PRESIDENT DONALD

TRUMP SENT A LETTER TO MEMBERS

STATING HIS INTENTION TO

EVENTUALLY INK A DEAL WITH

CANADA.

THE FIRST BIG DATE TO WATCH.

THIS COMING WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER

5.

THAT'S WHEN CANADIAN AND

AMERICAN NEGOTIATORS GO BACK AT

IT.

THE LETTER THEN SAYS THAT OVER

THE NEXT FEW WEEKS, MEMBERS OF

CONGRESS AND BUSINESS LEADERS

SHOULD BE ABLE TO HAVE A LOOK AT

THE AGREEMENT.

IT OFFERS NO SPECIFIC DATES,

THOUGH.

AND IF ALL GOES WELL, TRUMP

INTENDS TO SIGN A TRADE

AGREEMENT WITH CANADA AND MEXICO

90 DAYS FROM TODAY, WHICH IS

NOVEMBER 29.

OBVIOUSLY, THERE ARE NO

GUARANTEES OF A DEAL AT ALL.

THE AMERICANS SEEM TO BE CONTENT

TO KEEP PLAYING HARDBALL, BUT

CANADA, TOO, HAS ITS STICKING

POINTS.

CHAPTER 19, NAFTA'S DISPUTE

RESOLVING MECHANISM ALLOWS

COUNTRIES TO WORK OUT

DISAGREEMENTS THROUGH A NEUTRAL

PANEL.

THE AMERICANS WANT TO SCRAP IT,

CANADA IS ADAMANT IT STAYS.

AND THERE IS THE $20 BILLION

DAIRY SECTOR.

TRUMP WANTS OTTAWA TO REMOVE

PROTECTIONS AND OPEN IT UP, BUT

WITH OVER 200,000 JOBS ON THE

LINE AND CONCERNS OF CHEAP

AMERICAN DAIRY FLOODING NORTH,

CANADA IS UNLIKELY TO BUDGE.

AND THEN THERE IS CANADA'S

CULTURAL INDUSTRY.

>> THEY TEND TO SEE CULTURAL

MATTERS AS EVERYTHING ELSE AS

SOMETHING WITH A DOLLAR SIGN ON

IT.

>> Rosemary: IT'S NEVER BEEN

EASY TO COMPETE WITH THE GIANT

NEXT DOOR.

>> FULL SUPPORT OF THE FREE

TRADE.

>> Rosemary: THAT'S WHY CANADA

INSISTED ON AND WON KEY CULTURAL

EXEMPTIONS BACK IN 1987, LIKE

CONTENT QUOTA, GOVERNMENT

SUBSIDIES AND STRICT RULES ON

FOREIGN OWNERSHIP.

THEY AUTOMATICALLY CARRIED OVER

INTO NAFTA AND WORKED WELL AND

HELPED LAUNCH SUCCESSFUL

CAREERS.

BUT AS POLITICS AND TECHNOLOGY

CHANGE, ARE THE EXEMPTIONS IN

DANGER.

JEROME PAYETTE IS WITH A GROUP

COMMITTED TO PROTECTING THEM.

>> IF WE GO & THERE IS NOT ANY

WAY TO SUPPORT OUR ACTORS, OUR

CREATORS, OUR PRODUCERS, OUR

PUBLISHERS, THEY WILL BE IN

SERIOUS TROUBLE, BECAUSE THE

U.S.A. IS A POWER HOUSE

REGARDING CULTURE.

SO THEY CREATE A LOT.

VERY GOOD CONTENT THAT WE CANNOT

COMPETE WITHOUT GOVERNMENT

SUPPORT.

>> Rosemary: JUST ANOTHER

STICKING POINT FOR CANADIAN

NEGOTIATORS TO KEEP IN MIND

BEFORE TALKS RESUME NEXT WEEK.

WE'RE AT THE END OF WHAT HAS

SURELY BEEN ONE OF THE MOST

CHALLENGING WEEKS OF TRUDEAU'S

GOVERNMENT BETWEEN NAFTA AND THE

PIPELINE.

THE HOST OF "POWER AND

POLITICS", VASSY KAPELOS JOINS

ME NOW.

I KNOW YOU'VE BEEN REACHING OUT

TO PEOPLE IN GOVERNMENT.

>> Vassy: THERE ARE A LOT OF

CONCERNS ON THE PART OF PEOPLE

I'VE BEEN SPEAKING TO IN

GOVERNMENT.

NOT JUST ABOUT NAFTA, BUT

ESPECIALLY ABOUT THE PIPELINE

FILE.

THAT DECISION WAS A BIG BLOW TO

THE MANTRA THAT THEY REALLY GOT

ELECTED ON, THAT WE'VE HEARD SO

MANY TIMES FROM JUSTIN TRUDEAU,

THE IDEA THAT THE ENVIRONMENT

CAN BE PROTECTED WHILE THE

ECONOMY CAN GROW AT THE SAME

TIME.

AND THIS COURT DECISION PROVIDES

THE BIGGEST TEST OF THAT ALMOST

CAMPAIGN SLOGAN WE'VE HEARD OVER

AND OVER AGAIN.

PEOPLE IN GOVERNMENT ARE

CONCERNED THAT THEY WILL FAIL

THAT TEST.

ON THE NAFTA FILE, I MEAN THERE

IS SOME SORT OF MITIGATED

OPTIMISM I GUESS YOU COULD SAY.

CAUTIOUS OPTIMISM.

IT'S NOT THE WORST-CASE SCENARIO

FOR SURE.

THINGS DIDN'T FALL APART, BUT

IT'S ALSO NOT THE BEST-CASE

SCENARIO AND SOURCES I'VE SPOKEN

TO ARE WORRIED ABOUT HOW FAR

APART THEY ARE ON THE STICKING

POINTS.

>> Rosemary: WHAT IS THE PLAN TO

MOVE FORWARD, IF THERE IS ONE?

>> IT'S A DIFFICULT ONE, ON

NAFTA, IF THEY GET THE BEST-CASE

SCENARIO, THEY HAVE TO TRY TO

SELL THE CONCESSIONS THEY MAKE

DOMESTICALLY.

ON THE PIPELINE FILE, THEY HAVE

TO FIGURE OUT, CAN THEY APPEAL

IT OR START CONSULTATIONS ALL

OVER AGAIN?

THEY FEEL LIKE THEY HAVE HANDED

THE OPPOSITION A GIFT TWO WEEKS

FROM PARLIAMENT AND YEAR OUT

FROM AN ELECTION.

>> Rosemary: THANK YOU FOR THIS

TONIGHT.

NOW THE PRIME MINISTER WAS ASKED

ABOUT THE PIPELINE PROJECT TODAY

AND HE REPEATED THAT CANADA'S

CHANGING RELATIONSHIP WITH THE

UNITED STATES MAKES IT MORE

IMPORTANT THAN EVER.

>> Prime Minister Justin

Trudeau: I THINK WITH EVERYTHING

THAT HAS BEEN GOING ON, PEOPLE

CAN KIND OF UNDERSTAND THAT

HAVING ONLY THE UNITED STATES AS

A MARKET FOR 99% OF OUR OIL

RESOURCES SIMPLY DOESN'T MAKE

SENSE ANYMORE AND THAT'S WHY

WE'VE ALWAYS BELIEVED THAT

THE -- WE BELIEVE THAT THE TRANS

MOUNTAIN PIPELINE EXPANSION IS

IN THE BEST INTERESTS OF ALL

CANADIANS.

>> Rosemary: SO, TRUDEAU IS

OBVIOUSLY IT STICKING TO THE

SAME MESSAGE, THE GOVERNMENT

MESSAGE THERE.

BUT DESPITE THE COURT DECISION,

PUTTING THE PIPELINE IN LEGAL

LIMBO.

HOW IS IT GOING OVER WITH

CANADIANS?

PARTICULARLY THOSE WHO WORK AND

LIVE IN THE OIL PATCH?

CAROLYN DUNN HAS THEIR REACTION.

>> Reporter: CHECK OUT THE

LATEST PURCHASE, CANADIANS.

AS OF TODAY, YOU OWN THIS

TERMINAL AND A LIST OF TRANS

MOUNTAIN PIPELINE ASSETS.

OF COURSE, CONSTRUCTION IS

HALTED NOW AND THE WHOLE

SITUATION HAS MANY ALBERTANS

FEELING BETRAYED.

>> I FELT LIKE PROMISES WERE

KIND OF LET GO.

IT WAS JUST THE BIG BLOW.

>> Reporter: AT THE IRON WORKERS

LOCAL 720, OTTAWA IS THE MAIN

TARGET OF THEIR RESENTMENT.

>> A LOT OF MEMBERS FEELING

ANGER AT THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT,

FEELING THEY COULD DO MORE.

TO ME, IT'S DISAPPOINTMENT.

A LITTLE BIT OF ANGER.

AND I THINK FEAR AS WELL.

>> Reporter: A SIMILAR SENTIMENT

FROM THE SOARING OFFICE TOWERS

IN CALGARY'S OIL AND GAS DRIVEN

DOWNTOWN.

>> I THINK IT'S EMBARRASSING FOR

CANADA THAT OUR FEDERAL

GOVERNMENT HAS SPENT $4.5

BILLION AND NOW WE'RE AN

EMBARRASSMENT TO THE WORLD ON

THIS.

>> Reporter: THE ALBERTA PREMIER

WHO BANKED HER REPUTATION ON

GETTING THE PIPELINE BUILT, SAYS

PULLING OUT OF THE FEDERAL

CLIMATE CHANGE PLAN IS THE MOST

EFFECTIVE AMMUNITION, BUT NOTLEY

IS THE TARGET OF ANGER FROM

PROVINCIAL OPPOSITION LEADER

JASON KENNEY.

HE SAYS SHE SHOULD BE DEMANDING

EVERYTHING FOR THINGS LIKE JOB

TRAINING AND INFRASTRUCTURE.

>> SO IF THE PREMIER WAS REALLY

SERIOUS ABOUT ASSERTING

ALBERTA'S INTERESTS, THERE IS A

LONG LIST OF REAL ACTION THAT

SHE COULD TAKE.

>> Reporter: BRITISH COLUMBIA

DOESN'T ESCAPE THE

FINGER-POINTING EITHER.

>> THIS, TO ME, JUST SMACKS OF

PACIFIC PRIVILEGE.

THIS SMACKS OF BURNABY

ARROGANCE.

AND THAT CONCERNS ME.

THERE IS A BROADER CONTEXT TO

THIS AND THAT IS THAT THE OIL

SUPPLY THAT ALBERTA PROVIDES

REALLY IS IN THE NATIONAL

INTEREST.

>> Reporter: SO WHAT IS NEXT?

THE PREMIER'S OFFICE TELLS US

TRUDEAU LISTENED TO NOTLEY

YESTERDAY, BUT OTTAWA HAS YET TO

MAKE COMMITMENTS ABOUT ITS WAY

FORWARD.

THAT LEAVES MANY ALBERTANS

HEADING INTO THE LABOUR DAY

WEEKEND WORRIED, WONDERING WHAT

IS TO COME.

>> Rosemary: SO AFTER ADDRESSING

HER PROVINCE LAST NIGHT, WHAT

DOES RACHEL NOTLEY, THE PREMIER

OF ALBERTA THINK TODAY?

I SPOKE WITH HER EARLIER.

>> Rosemary: PREMIER, GOOD TO

SEE YOU.

WERE YOU WRONG TO BELIEVE THE

FEDERAL GOVERNMENT WHEN IT SAID

IT COULD GET THIS PIPELINE

BUILT?

>> UM, YOU KNOW, I THINK NONE OF

US EXPECTED THE FEDERAL COURT OF

APPEAL TO MAKE THE FINDINGS THAT

IT DID.

YOU KNOW.

AND I STILL BELIEVE THAT WE CAN

GET THIS PIPELINE BUILT.

BUT WHAT I DO BELIEVE IS THAT

WE'RE AT THE POINT NOW THAT THE

FEDERAL GOVERNMENT IS GOING TO

HAVE TO USE ITS LEGISLATIVE

AUTHORITY TO MAKE SURE IT

HAPPENS IN A TIMELY AND

REASONABLE WAY.

AND SO THAT IS WHAT WE'RE ASKING

FOR.

YOU KNOW, TAKING ACTION TO FIGHT

CLIMATE CHANGE IS FUNDAMENTALLY

IMPORTANT, BUT WE'VE ALWAYS SAID

IT HAS TO GO HAND IN HAND WITH

ENSURING ECONOMIC STRENGTH AND

PROSPERITY AND CREATING JOBS AND

THAT'S WHY WE NEED TO GET THERE

PIPELINE BUILT.

WE NEED TO GET A FAIR RETURN FOR

THE RESOURCES WE HAVE HERE IN

ALBERTA, WHICH MAKE UP SUCH A

SIGNIFICANT PORTION OF OUR

CANADIAN ECONOMY.

AND WITH THAT, WE CAN AFFORD TO

MOVE FORWARD ON CLIMATE CHANGE,

BUT NOT WITHOUT.

>> Rosemary: YOU'VE SAID THAT

YOU ARE GOING TO LEAVE THE

FEDERAL CARBON PRICING PLAN IF

IT'S NOT DONE.

THE PRIME MINISTER SAID AGAIN

TODAY HE'S GOING TO IMPOSE THE

FEDERAL PLAN FOR PROVINCES WHO

DON'T SIGN ON, WHICH MEANS THAT

ALBERTA GETS NO SAY IN HOW THE

REVENUE IS USED, NO CREDIT FOR

DOING IT, HOW IS IS THAT A GOOD

THING FOR YOUR PROVINCE?

>> THE ADDITIONAL ACTIONS THAT

THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT WANTS TO

TAKE, THAT WE AGREE WITH, TO

COMBAT CLIMATE CHANGE, THEY HAVE

TO WORK.

I MEAN, THEORETICALLY YOU COULD

HAVE A 200-TON CHARGE FOR

CARBON, BUT IT WOULDN'T WORK

BECAUSE THE ECONOMY WOULD FAIL.

AND OUR POSITION ALL ALONG HAS

BEEN THAT MOVING TO THE

ADDITIONAL PRICES THAT THE

FEDERAL GOVERNMENT WANTS TO

WON'T WORK IF WE DON'T MAKE

SIGNIFICANT PROGRESS ON

STRENGTHENING OUR ECONOMIC

FRAMEWORK AND OUR ECONOMIC

FOUNDATIONS, PARTICULARLY IN

ALBERTA, WHICH IS OF COURSE THE

BIGGEST EMITTER IN THE COUNTRY.

THAT'S WHAT THE PIPELINE WAS

ABOUT.

AT THE END OF THE DAY, I SUPPOSE

THEY CAN IMPOSE IT, BUT WHAT

WE'RE SAYING STRONGLY, IT WON'T

WORK, UNLESS WE GET THE

PIPELINE.

AND THEY'RE GOING TO HAVE A BIG

FIGHT OVER IT.

QUITE FRANKLY, THAT'S NOT THE

POSITION WE WANT TO BE IN.

>> Rosemary: WOULDN'T BE THE

FASTEST WAY TO GET THE PIPELINE

BUILT IS TO RESPOND TO THE

FEDERAL COURT, TAKE THE

SUGGESTIONS THE COURT HAS MADE,

IMPLEMENT THEM, INSTEAD OF

APPEALING TO THE SUPREME COURT

WHICH WOULD PROBABLY TAKE

LONGER?

>> THE DIFFICULTY WITH THE WAY

THE FEDERAL COURT OF APPEAL

OUTLINED WHAT NEEDS TO HAPPEN,

IT'S EFFECTIVELY APPEARS AS IF

THEY WANT US TO RESTART THE NEB

PROCESS.

WITH THAT COMES JUST SO MANY

POSSIBLE AREAS OF MORE

UNCERTAINTY AND MORE PROBLEMS.

AND THAT IS WHY WE NEED THE

FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO TAKE

LEGISLATIVE ACTION.

>> Rosemary: LET ME JUST END ON

THIS.

DO YOU THINK IT'S GOING TO

HAPPEN, THE PIPELINE?

>> I'M SAYING THAT IT NEEDS TO

HAPPEN, AND THAT IT IS TOO

STUPID FOR IT NOT TO HAPPEN.

SO IT IS NOW TIME FOR THE

FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO MAKE IT

HAPPEN.

>> Rosemary: PREMIER NOTLEY,

THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME TONIGHT.

APPRECIATE IT.

>> THANK YOU.

>> Andrew: AS YOUR KIDS HEAD

BACK TO SCHOOL, THERE IS A

GROWING TREND AND A

CONTROVERSIAL NEW PRODUCT THAT

IS COMING TO CANADA.

>> THIS IS COMING TO EPIDEMIC

PROPORTIONS AND IT'S DANGEROUS.

>> Andrew: DON MEREDITH IS A MOM

OF FOUR.

ONE OF HER TARGETS, THE BIGGEST

PLAYER IN THE GAME, A COMPANY

CALLED JUUL.

AND ITS SLEEK GADGETS THAT

DELIVER BIG HITS OF NICOTINE.

>> I KNOW WHAT THESE TEENS ARE

DOING.

>> Andrew: THE U.S. FOOD AND

DRUG ADMINISTRATION IS

INVESTIGATING WHETHER THE

INDUSTRY DELIBERATELY LURES

TEENS INTO VAPING.

IT'S ASKED JUUL TO HAND OVER

DOCUMENTS ON ITS MARKETING

STRATEGY.

AMID THAT CONTROVERSY, JUUL IS

COMING TO CANADA IN SEPTEMBER.

IT MARKETS ITSELF TO ADULT

SMOKER WHO WANT TO QUIT TOBACCO.

AND INDEED, THE WAY THE COMPANY

PORTRAYS THEIR CLIENTELE,

THEY'RE CLEARLY ADULTS.

BUT SEARCH JUUL ON SOCIAL MEDIA,

YOU'LL SEE THIS.

LOTS OF BRIGHT SHINY IMAGES OF

YOUNGER PEOPLE.

AS KATIE NICHOLSON SHOWS US,

WHILE

>> Reporter: IT MAY LOOK LIKE

THERE GUY IS SUCKING ON USB

KEYS, THIS IS THE JUUL STEM.

>> IT LOOKS LIKE A USB STICK.

THIS IS THE BUSINESS END.

IT LOOKS LIKE A USB STICK AND

CHARGES LIKE ONE, TOO.

SNAP IT INTO YOUR COMPUTER.

>> IF YOU'RE WORRIED ABOUT YOUR

KIDS VAPING, THIS IS YOUR

NIGHTMARE.

THIS GENERALLY HAS TWO OR THREE

TIMES THE NICOTINE CONCENTRATION

OF OTHER E-CIGARETTES.

IT'S SO HIGH THEY COULDN'T SELL

THIS IN ENGLAND WHERE THEY HAVE

LIMITATIONS ON THE NICOTINE

CONTENT.

>> Reporter: HE SAYS THE PRODUCT

SHOULD BE KEPT AWAY FROM MINORS,

BUT THE FLAVORS APPEAL TO THE

YOUNG.

>> YOU CAN SEE WHY IT'S MORE

POPULAR AMONG KIDS.

>> Reporter: THE U.S. DRUG

ADMINISTERS IS INVESTIGATING,

TRYING TO DETERMINE IF IT

TARGETS TEENS.

>> FRIENDS ARE ADDICTED TO THE

JUUL, MEANING THEY'RE USING IT

EVERY HOUR OF THE DAY.

>> Reporter: JACK WAXMAN WAS SO

DISTURBED BY THE EFFECT ON HIS

FELLOW STUDENTS, HE STARTED THIS

AWARENESS CAMPAIGN.

>> I JUULED PRETTY MUCH EVERY

MOMENT I WASN'T IN CLASS.

>> Reporter: WAXMAN SAYS KIDS AS

YOUNG AS GRADE 6 GOT HOOKED ON

JUULING.

>> HE WENT TO THE BATHROOM IN

ANY PART OF SCHOOL, IT WAS JUST

FLOODED WITH GROUPS OF KIDS,

BOTH BOYS AND GIRLS, USING THESE

DEVICES.

>> MY KIDS HAVE TRIED USING

CIGARETTES AND IT'S BECAUSE

THEY'VE BEEN JUULING, THEY THINK

IT'S OK TO USE CIGARETTES.

>> Reporter: THAT'S PRECISELY

WHAT WORRIES THE CANADIAN CANCER

SOCIETY.

ESPECIALLY IN ONTARIO WHERE

E-CIGARETTE LEGISLATION WAS

CANNED.

>> KIDS WILL BE EXPOSED TO

PROMOTIONS AND DISPLAYS IN

CONVENIENCE STORES NEAR SCHOOLS.

>> Reporter: HEALTH CANADA SAYS

IT MAY INTRODUCE MORE

RESTRICTIONS TO KEEP VAPE ADS

AWAY FROM TEENS.

BUT FOR A GENERATION THAT LIVES

AND DIES ON SOCIAL MEDIA, IT MAY

ALREADY BE TOO LATE.

>> Andrew: CANADA'S NEW

REGULATIONS ON VAPING CAME INTO

EFFECT IN MAY.

THE PRODUCTS CAN BE LEGALLY SOLD

TO PEOPLE 19 AND OLDER, BUT THE

GOVERNMENT SAYS THIS ABOUT THEIR

USE.

COMPLETELY REPLACING CIGARETTE

SMOKING WITH A VAPING PRODUCT

WILL REDUCE YOUR EXPOSURE TO

HARMFUL CHEMICALS, HOWEVER, IF

YOU ARE NOT A SMOKER, VAPING CAN

INCREASE YOUR EXPOSURE TO SOME

HARMFUL SUBSTANCES THAT COULD

NEGATIVELY AFFECT YOUR HEALTH.

IT'S STILL AN OPEN QUESTION WHAT

THE LONG-TERM EFFECTS OF VAPING

ARE, BUT A STUDY SUGGESTED THAT

VAPING WITH OR WITHOUT NICOTINE,

CAN INCREASE INFLAMMATION.

THEN THERE IS THE NICOTINE IN

PRODUCTS LIKE JUUL.

TEENS ARE ESPECIALLY VULNERABLE.

SAYS THE FDA COMMISSIONER, AS WE

KNOW THE NICOTINE IN THESE

PRODUCTS CAN REWIRE AN

ADOLESCE

ADOLESCENT'S BRAIN, LEADING TO

YEARS OF ADDICTION.

>>> ANOTHER BLOW TO DONALD

TRUMP'S WHITE HOUSE.

REPUBLICAN LOBBYIST SAM PATTEN

PLEADED GUILTY TO ACTING AS AN

UNREGISTERED FOREIGN LOBBYIST.

PROSECUTORS SAY HE KNEW THE

INAUGURATION COMMITTEE COULD NOT

ACCEPT MONEY FROM FOREIGNERS AND

ACKNOWLEDGES HE LIED ABOUT HIS

TICKETS AND FOREIGN LOBBYING

WORK.

>>> TODAY HE LIES IN A PLACE

WHERE HE SERVED TO THE LAST.

>> Andrew: IT WAS WASHINGTON'S

TURN TO SAY FAREWELL TO SENATOR

JOHN McCAIN TODAY.

HIS WIFE, DAUGHTER AND

106-YEAR-OLD MOTHER WERE THERE

AT THE U.S. CAPITOL ALONG WITH

DOZENS OF LAWMAKERS.

MEANWHILE, OUTSIDE THE CAPITOL,

HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE WAITED IN

LINE FOR THEIR TURN TO SAY

GOODBYE.

>> MR. McCAIN STEPPED ACROSS A

LINE.

HE FOUND THE MOST COMBATIVE

PERSON TO MAKE AN ALLY WITH, TO

GET STUFF PASSED.

>> AND THE REPUBLICAN PARTY, IF

THEY'RE GOING TO HAVE A FUTURE,

THEY NEED PEOPLE LIKE JOHN

McCAIN THAT, YOU KNOW, REPRESENT

CIVIL RIGHTS, HUMAN RIGHTS AND

JUST DECENCY.

>> Andrew: McCAIN'S FUNERAL WILL

BE HELD TOMORROW.

FORMER PRESIDENTS BARACK OBAMA

AND GEORGE W. BUSH ARE EXPECTED

TO SPEAK.

>> Rosemary: STILL AHEAD, THE

P.M. HAS MOVES.

NOT OURS.

IT'S THE BRITISH ONE.

AND SHE DOESN'T REALLY CUT A RUG

WELL.

BUT WE'LL GET YOU CAUGHT UP ON

THAT IN THE "MOMENT OF THE DAY".

>> WHO HAS THE RIGHT TO TELL

INDIGENOUS STORIES?

THE QUESTION IS POSSESSED

AGAIN -- POSED AGAIN OVER TWO

MOVIES AS THE TORONTO

INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

KICKS OFF NEXT WEEK.

>> Rosemary: WE'LL TAKE YOU TO

THE SCENE IN DETROIT AND THE

LAVISH FUNERAL FOR EITHARETHA

FRANKLIN.

A GROUP THAT COULDN'T BE THERE,

BUT STILL SENT RESPECT.

[ * ]

>> Rosemary: GROOVY.

THE HANDS OF THE WELSH GUARDS,

PERFECT MUSIC FOR THE CHANGING

OF THE GUARD AT BUCKINGHAM

PALACE.

WE'RE BACK AFTER THIS.

[ * ]

>> Andrew: WHEN YOU ARE

PERFORMING AT THE FUNERAL FOR

THE QUEEN OF SOUL, BRING ON THE

THUNDER.

THAT IS FANTASIA, KICKING OFF

HER HEELS AND SINGING HER HEART

OUT.

ARETHA FRANKLIN WAS LAID TO REST

TODAY IN A WAY THAT ONLY SHE

COULD COMMAND.

A LAVISH CELEBRATION AT A CHURCH

IN DETROIT THAT LASTED FOR

HOURS.

HER BODY ARRIVED IN A 1940

CADILLAC HEARSE.

INSIDE THAT GOLD CASKET, SHE WAS

DRESSED IN A SHIMMERING GOLD

DRESS, HER FOURTH OUTFIT OF THE

WEEK.

AS GUESTS STREAMED INSIDE, A

LINE OF PINK CADILLACS ROLLED

OUTSIDE.

A REFERENCE TO HER HIT, FREE WAY

OF LOVE.

ORGANIZERS INSISTED WOULD BE A

SERVICE AND NOT A SHOW.

BUT HER FINAL SENDOFF INCLUDED

18 PERFORMERS.

* YOU MAKE ME FEEL LIKE A

NATURAL WOMAN *

* I KNOW THAT MY LOVE FOR YOU

* WILL NEVER END

>> Andrew: THERE WERE MORE THAN

15 SPEAKERS.

>> SECRET OF HER GREATNESS, SHE

TOOK THIS MASSIVE TALENT AND

DECIDED TO COMPOSE HER OF HER

OWN LIFE SONG.

>> AS A KID, I COULDN'T

UNDERSTAND WHAT IT WAS LIKE TO

BE ARETHA FRANKLIN'S

GRANDDAUGHTER.

BUT NOW I KNOW WHAT IT FEELS

LIKE.

IT'S AMAZING TO SEE A WOMAN SO

FIERCE, SO COURAGEOUS, GIFTED,

SO RESPECTED.

AND TO BE ABLE TO CALL THAT MY

GRANDMOTHER, TO KNOW THAT I HAVE

THAT RUNNING THROUGH MY BLOOD.

AND THAT SHE'S A PART OF WHO I

AM --

[APPLAUSE]

-- THERE IS NOTHING LIKE THAT.

[ * ]

* CAN WE BUILD THE MEMORY OF

TOMORROW *

>> Andrew: AND GOES WITHOUT

SAYING, THIS WAS AS MUCH ABOUT

LIFTING SPIRITS AS IT WAS ABOUT

GETTING DOWN.

[ * ]

ARETHA FRANKLIN DIED EARLIER

THIS MONTH AT THE AGE OF 76.

[ * ]

* ALWAYS

* ALWAYS

>> Rosemary: MAN, IF YOU'RE

GOING TO GO, GO IN STYLE.

STILL AHEAD, OUR SPECIAL SHORT

DOC.

MEET A YOUNG WOMAN GRAPPLING

WITH A DIFFICULT QUESTION.

WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN SOMEONE YOU

LOVE COMMITS A SHOCKING CRIME?

>> IT'S HARD TO LOOK SOMEONE WHO

HAS DONE TERRIBLE THINGS, BUT

THE TERRIBLE THINGS DON'T UNDO

THE LOVE.

JUST STILL CRAVE CONNECTION.

YOU STILL WANT THEM TO

PARTICIPATE IN MY LIFE.

I STILL LOVE HIM.

INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

OPENS NEXT WEEK, FOUR CANADIAN

FEATURE FILMS WILL ARRIVE WITH

SOME BAGGAGE.

ALL FOUR SHOWCASE INDIGENOUS

TALE

TALENT, BUT ONLY TWO FEET

FEATURE IT IN THE DIRECTOR

CHAIR.

WHO HAS THE RIGHT TO TELL

INDIGENOUS STORIES?

>> Reporter: INUIT LACROSSE TEAM

FROM THE ARCTIC.

>> NOT LETTING HER GO, OK.

>> Reporter: A YOUNG CREE

WOMAN'S JOURNEY SOUTH TO SEARCH

FOR HER MISSING SISTER.

THESE ARE SOME OF THE CANADIAN

INDIGENOUS FILMS PREMIERING AT

THE TORONTO INTERNATIONAL FILM

FESTIVAL.

BUT OF THE FOUR INDIGENOUS

FEATURES, TWO HAVE WHITE

DIRECTORS.

CREE ACTOR TINA KEEPER OF NORTH

OF 60 FAME, STARRED IN BLACK

SPRUCE AND HELPED PRODUCE IT

WITH NON-INDIGENOUS DIRECTOR.

>> I FELT MY ROLE AS PRODUCER

WAS AS CRITICAL AS WRITER OR

DIRECTOR.

>> Reporter: DEBATE OVER WHO

GETS TO TELL INDIGENOUS STORIES

IS FRONT AND CENTRE.

JOSEPH BOYDEN, WHO INSPIRED THE

FILM, FACED CONTROVERSY OVER HIS

CLAIMS OF INDIGENOUS ROOTS.

IN THE FILM, INDIAN HORSE,

RAISED EYEBROWS FOR HAVING A

WHITE DIRECTOR AND CREW.

SOME FILMMAKERS BELIEVE IT'S

TIME THAT ONLY INDIGENOUS

DIRECTORS TELL INDIGENOUS

STORIES.

>> I THINK IN THIS CLIMATE, HOW

WE'VE GOTTEN HERE AND THE THINGS

WE'VE COME TO REALIZE OVER THE

PAST DECADE, I CAN'T IMAGINE WHY

ANY NON-NATIVE DIRECTOR WOULD

WANT TO DO IT.

I'M BAFFLED.

>> Reporter: SHE'S ALSO IN THE

TIFF LINEUP.

OJIBWAY FILMMAKER PONCE WROTE

AND DIRECTED THE FILM IN HER

FIRST NATIONS COMMUNITY.

>> WHEN AN INDIGENOUS FILMMAKER

MAKES IT, THEY ALREADY HAVE THAT

FULL EXPERIENCE.

>> Reporter: THE DIRECTOR HAD TO

EARN THE TRUST.

>> WHEN MIRANDA CAME NORTH, I

THOUGHT, WHO IS THIS WHITE LADY?

>> I WAS SO INSPIRED.

>> Reporter: MIRANDA WAS THAT

WHITE LADY.

>> I WAS AN OUTSIDER, I'M STILL

AN OUTSIDER, SO I FELT A

RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE SURE WE

WERE TELLING THE STORY

RESPECTFULLY.

>> Reporter: SHE TEAMED UP WITH

TWO INUIT FILM PRODUCERS, BUT IS

NOT SURE SHE'D DIRECT IT TODAY,

GIVEN WHAT SHE'S LEARNED FROM

INDIGENOUS STORY TELLERS.

>> IT'S TIME FOR FILMMAKERS TO

STEP ASIDE.

>> Reporter: SHE NOW MENTORS

INDIGENOUS CREATIVES WITH HOPES

THEY'LL BE THE ONES BEHIND THE

LENS OF THEIR OWN STORIES GOING

FORWARD.

>> Andrew: EARLIER THIS SEASON,

DUNCAN McHUGH SAT DOWN WITH

THREE INDIGENOUS STORY TELLERS.

>> FILMS HAVE BEEN MADE ABOUT

INDIGENOUS PEOPLE FOR A CENTURY

AND WHEN THE GENERAL PUBLIC

KNOWS SO LITTLE ABOUT OUR

GENERAL CULTURE, WE'RE AT A

POINT NOW THAT SO MANY FILMS

HAVE BEEN MADE ABOUT US WITHOUT

US, THEY'RE TELLING THE SAME

STORIES OVER AND OVER AGAIN.

>> THAT MEANS THROUGHOUT

HISTORY, 99% OF ALL MOVIES ABOUT

INDIGENOUS PEOPLE HAVE NOT BEEN

MADE BY US AND WE DESERVE THAT

OPPORTUNITY AS MUCH AS ANYONE

ELSE.

>> Andrew: YOU CAN WATCH

DUNCAN'S FULL CONVERSATION ON

OUR YouTube PAGE.

>>> COMING UP, FIGHTING FOR

EQUAL PAY.

THE SPLIT BETWEEN URBAN AND

RURAL POSTAL WORKERS IS ALSO ONE

THAT IS MOSTLY BETWEEN MEN AND

WOMEN.

>> WE'RE IN SUCH A SEPARATION

WITH A GROUP OF PEOPLE THAT WE

DO THE SAME WORK WITH.

WE DO FEEL VERY SECOND CLASS IN

THE CORPORATION.

>> Rosemary: CANADA POST AND THE

POSTAL UNION SPENT MONTHS TRYING

TO FIGURE OUT WHAT IS NEXT AFTER

THEY FAILED TO REACH A DEAL.

THAT'S AHEAD.

>>> AND REMINDER HERE.

YOU CAN AND YOU SHOULD SUBSCRIBE

TO OUR NEWSLETTER.

IT GOES DEEPER ON THE TOP

JUST LAST WEEK THE POPE WAS MET

WITH ANGER DURING A VISIT TO

IRELAND.

THAT KIND OF TRAUMA CAN RIPPLE

FAR AND WIDE, INCLUDING FAMILY

MEMBERS OF THE ABUSERS

THEMSELVES.

TONIGHT, OUR SHORT DOC

INTRODUCES YOU TO A DAUGHTER OF

A FATHER SERVING 29 YEARS FOR

SEXUAL ABUSE.

HOW DO YOU CONTINUE TO LOVE

SOMEONE WHO HAS DONE SUCH

TERRIBLE THINGS.

HERE'S "BETWEEN YOU AND ME".

>> PEOPLE ASK ME ALL THE TIME IF

I'VE FORGIVEN HIM AND I DON'T

KNOW HOW TO ANSWER THAT.

BUT I CAN SAY THAT I LOVE HIM.

AND THAT IT'S HARD TO LOVE

SOMEONE WHO HAS DONE TERRIBLE

THINGS.

BUT THE TERRIBLE THINGS DON'T

UNDO THE LOVE.

>> IT'S BEEN 13 YEARS AND I'VE

NEVER GOTTEN NERVOUS.

>> WHAT I WAS THINKING ABOUT IN

TERMS OF GOING IN ACTUALLY, IS

THAT THERE IS A POSSIBILITY THAT

SOMETHING ABOUT OUR OUTFITS

MIGHT BE WRONG, OR LIKE --

>> OK.

>> AND SO I'M HOPING THAT MAYBE

YOU TWO STAY IN THE PARKING LOT

--

>> YEAH.

WELL YOU'LL SEE US GO IN.

>> HERE'S HOW THIS WILL GO.

THESE PANTS ARE THE PARKING LOT.

THEN WE'LL DRIVE INTO THE

PARKING LOT AND WALK UP TO THIS

BUILDING HERE.

What is a self charging hybrid is it a REX BEV or a PHEV? ITS NON! 🔌🔋🚗 - Duration: 6:51.

welcome to this week's vlog on this week's vlog we're going to be talking

about an amazing system that's called the self charging hybrid system yes you

heard me right a self charging hybrid system

now if you've seen Toyota and

Lexus is adverts obviously Toyota owns Lexus they have gone for an

amazing self perpetual-motion device called a self charging hybrid yes they

have a hybrid that completely charges itself what an amazing piece of

technology I mean Newton would be proud they have

basically broken all the barriers of physics and invented a device that

completely self charges now if you see Toyota and Lexus advert it clearly says

they've chosen a device it charges itself and does not require a plug yes

that's right Toyota chosen not to put a plug on their hybrid

no no there's self charges itself now if you weren't aware Mercedes yes right

under here is Mercedes self charging hybrid battery yes you heard me right

right under here is a 12-volt standard okay it's time to drop the sarcasm

obviously Mercedes do not make a self-driving hybrid but also neither do

Toyota it's time I get technical for the first time ever in my videos and explain

the full difference between different cars so obviously got a ICE combustion

car which is a pure petrol or diesel car runs on combustion fuel 100% that drives

the wheels we all know what they are they've been around for decades the next

car is what we call a battery car BEV but a battery electric vehicle which

basically means the whole car is powered purely by electric so that includes the

Renault Zoe and obviously the Nissan Leaf and all the Tesla's we then have a

REX which is a range extender this has a electric motor and it also has a small

engine the engine charges the battery and the wheels are

powered by the battery alone so basically the even that has an engine a

combustion engine combustion engine is there to facilitate the energy of

electricity so therefore it's more efficient the engine is tuned to run it

the most efficient rate and therefore that's why REX's are actually not that

bad we next then move on to hybrids now a hybrid car works a bit like a Formula

one kurs system it constantly recharges the battery from the motion of

regenerative braking so same as what your electric car does anyway all our

cars regenerative braking but a hybrid car regenerates just purely from that energy

that loss energy doesn't it runs purely purely mainly on the ice engine the ice

engine is the main form of that movement and it uses the petrol of the ice and

the driving normal driving to repower a battery to that then gets put back into the

wheels it's more efficient than an ICE better for the environment than a

ICE but it's not as good as the other two that I've just previously mentioned

we then move on to a PHEV now this is a PHEV BMW i8 a PHEV is a

vehicle that has a plug the plug powers a battery the battery powers the wheels

now being a PHEV bit also has an internal combustion engine which also

powers the wheels and also charges the battery when the battery runs low the

idea of a plug-in hybrid is you can select purely run off the battery London

taxis are PHEVs Outlanders are PHEV's a PHEV is obviously a lot better than their normal

hybrid because you if you wanted to you could run it purely off the battery and

never use a combustion engine as long as the rangers in the battery range of the

vehicle they obviously have a much smaller battery than full BEV's but

there are a lot more environmentally friendly than some of the other options

that you can get the question is where does Toyota's system fit in would you

say it's a range extender which what it sounds like a self charging hybrid

sounds like a range extender it's not a range extender

it's also not a plug-in hybrid it's also not a full BEV it's also not

self-charging what it basically is just a hybrid it

uses the ice engine and then almost like a Kurs system like Formula one like I

mentioned before it's using the motion of the wheels of slowing down

regenerative braking to charge a little battery which then puts a couple of

miles extra range onto the ice motor yes it's better for the environment than a

full ice but it's certainly not a self charging vehicle and it certainly

shouldn't be advertised as well there was nothing wrong with the term hybrid

hybrid just means exactly what's Toyota have got they're very very first

electric car was a hybrid they called it hybrid and now they've invented a new

term called a self charging hybrid which is just a way to mislead people and

consumers into buying vehicles I find that confusing so someone who doesn't

work and sort of study the electric car industry is going to find the even more

confusing than I do now the reason I've mentioned all this is I want you to go

down to the description below there's a link to the

Advertising Standards Agency and I want you to report Toyota for they're really

basically trying to take advantage of customers poor knowledge of electric

vehicles now I've not got any problems with a hybrid which doesn't have a plug

I've got no problem with it it's better than ICE car so before everyone starts

pulling in the comments no you shouldn't say this yes it is better than than a

ice car but no problem with that my issue is the confusing advertisement

that they're using and they're doing it on purpose and I think it's deliberately

misleading to fool people into thinking that it it's got some sort of fake

collection energy device it's very poor practice of Toyota they know exactly

what they're doing and they need to stop it now you might

want to know why I was making a little joke about the 12-volt battery on the

Mercedes the reason for that is self charging hybrid gives the impression

that a battery that charges itself up now 12-volt battery on any ice car

charges itself up from an alternator so does that mean that all ice cars are

self charging hybrids no it doesn't so really what Toyota should

be doing is just calling it a hybrid like everyone else thanks very much for

watching this week's video don't forget to click here to become a

patreon click here to subscribe and check out my other videos down here

thanks very much and I'll see you again next week goodbye

New Mom Cardi B Wants Liposuction to Get Rid of Her Post-Baby 'Love Handles' - Duration: 3:56.

Adjusting to your new body after having a baby can be challenging, and new mom Cardi B is speaking out about this struggle — and considering taking matters into her own hands

The 25-year-old rapper welcomed her first child, a baby girl named Kulture Kiari, with husband Offset on July 10

And just seven weeks later, she said in an Instagram Live video that she's considering liposuction to remove some of the extra pounds and loose skin around her stomach

"I still feel like I got a lot of love handles right here," she said to the camera on Thursday as she pulled on her tummy

"It's not much but it's like — I'm used to having, like, a real tight stomach."  The Bodak Yellow hitmaker also shared that she doesn't have time to work out — "If I'm not working, I gotta make sure my baby's okay," she said — so she's exploring a surgical option

"I might just get a little lipo, you know what I'm sayin'?" she told fans.  Want all the latest pregnancy and birth announcements, plus celebrity mom blogs? Click here to get those and more in the PEOPLE Parents newsletter

Khloé Kardashian Tried Not to Gain Too Much Weight to Avoid a C-Section — Is That Legit?  But is liposuction a good idea only seven weeks after giving birth?  According to Mary Jane Minkin, MD, a practicing gynecologist and professor at Yale School of Medicine, the answer is no — largely because it just wouldn't be effective

"Of course I would never encourage this!" she tells PEOPLE.  During pregnancy, a woman's body gains weight "diffusely" so it's all over the body, Dr

Minkin says, whereas liposuction targets weight in one specific part and it's impractical to do it everywhere

What's more, the stretched skin lots of moms have after pregnancy will not "disappear" with liposuction

"You can suck out some fat cells, but the skin will still be looser," she explains

"And liposuction won't tighten your muscles. Exercise will."  She adds, "A fabulous way to lose weight after a baby is breastfeeding

You will feed the baby 500 calories or so a day initially. Then, as the baby grows, you will be feeding her up to 1,000 calories a day

"  Cardi B and Offset, 26, seem in awe of their baby girl. Just last week, the Grammy-nominated artist shared a sweet photo of herself and the Migos member looking down sweetly at their little one

Although most of the baby's face was cropped out, the proud mom did show the top of Kulture's head and a tiny white bonnet

"KultureK," she captioned the Instagram post.   Cardi B Says Offset Thought She Actually Had Baby Kulture Onstage During VMAs Opening Bit  Since giving birth in July, Cardi B has managed to keep Kulture out of the spotlight

However, she has shared a few glimpses with her fans.  On Friday, she posted a video of the back of Kulture's head with a hand gently touching her, writing on her Instagram Story, "I love my grandpa

"  Earlier this month, the new mom posted an Instagram Story of her baby girl's cute feet

"I got home at 8:30 a.m. from my flight she been up this whole time! I fed her twice and bath[e] her she ain't with it," Cardi B wrote over the black-and'white photo

The five players who could leave Arsenal before Friday's 5pm transfer deadline | AFC News - Duration: 2:35.

Reiss Nelson

This will be the most high profile departure of the day, should the deal get done.

Arsenal have agreed a deal in principle with Hoffenheim which will see the 18-year-old

attacker spend the season with the Bundesliga club, but it is linked with him signing a

new contract with the Gunners first.

Nelson's current deal expires at the end of the season and Arsenal are looking to get

him to finally put pen to paper on an extension before sanctioning his transfer to Hoffenheim.

Julio Pleguezuelo

The Spanish centre-back had looked certain to head out on loan once again, but he was

promoted to train with the first-team this week at London Colney.

It could be that his performances so far this season have done enough to convince Unai Emery

to keep him around the club and use him in the cup competitions.

Cohen Bramall

The left-back spent last season on loan at Birmingham but endured a miserable spell in

the Midlands.

He has now entered the final year of his deal at Arsenal and didn't feature against West

Ham for the Under-23s last week.

Another loan move is not out of the question before 5pm.

Jordi Osei-Tutu

The young defender travelled with Arsenal for the club's pre-season tour to Singapore

and impressed with some solid performances.

Osei-Tutu can operate on either side of the defence as well as in midfield and could be

an appealing option for clubs looking to add some versatility to the squad.

Arsenal are not actively looking to send the 19-year-old out on loan, but could be tempted

if an attractive offer comes in.

Joe Willock

It feels like this would be a good time for Arsenal to send the midfielder out on loan.

The midfielder got quite a bit of game time last season, including making his full Premier

League debut away at Newcastle.

But given the stage of his career he is it, a loan spell this season would be far better

for his progress than just sticking around and getting the odd cup appearance.

Willock has spent the season training with the first team squad so far but has yet to

feature in any of Unai Emery's Premier League squads.

From the worst hostel to the worst restaurant! - Duration: 16:30.

Ahhh !!!

What a night.

We arrived here a little late.

It's actually the place I booked because there was a bed and Wi-fi.

In fact there were two beds in the room so I decided to share it with Simon.

This morning we take different roads, but at least we could share a room last night.

But! Here we were supposed to have a bed and wi-fi.

And we did not had wi-fi.

It took pretty much...

In fact when we arrived, on the web site they indicated the reception was open 24 hours a day.

But in fact, there is no reception at all.

And when we arrived, there was no english spokers.

Everyone spoke German.

Well, I can not complain, I'm in Germany...

But...

Someone wanted to give me some keys, but she had two and she

asked which one to choose and I did not know.

So finally there is someone who was on the phone with the owner.

She talked to me and explained where to go to find our room, we will go

visit it soon.

You will see quite special.

And...

And what about wi-fi, well during half an hour I looked for a paper that

I did not find it, it's somebody else who finally found it later.

And when I managed to connect, there was no internet on the wi-fi.

So that for me that means I'm not able to load my maps,

I'm not able to build my itinary, so here this morning I'm going I don't know

where, until I find a connection.

I will go up north.

I can orient myself with the sun.

Oh no it's cloudy.

No I have my watch, it will be ok.

But...

We'll go for a walk you'll see it's like a labyrinth in it, and we

We will just go explore a small part of it, the one which leads to my room.

Well, it was not that complicated huh?

There is a bathroom over there.

And it goes on over there.

I think there is something like eight dining rooms and sixteen rooms.

Well, we're finally ready to go.

I looked a little on the map and then I took two highways that go up,

who pass through cities, which are likely to have Mc do so wi-fi.

And I will do it again from a Mc do.

We slept next to this big thing, I wonder what it is.

It looks like a nuclear power station.

I just arrived at the road I wanted to take, but there is a small sign there

who says it's only for cars.

So I will find small roads.

I should eventually finish somewhere.

In Germany they really do not accept a lot the credit card.

From now I think I managed to use it in a room that I found on Booking

the first night and in a restaurant.

This is the third time, because I am in a Shell convenience store.

Otherwise we go everywhere else and it is always refused.

All restaurants, all grocery stores, everything else everything, they do not take the card.

But, it's still affordable.

I expected it to be more expensive than that.

There it just cost me five and a half euros.

I have one...

Meatloaf.

It is good.

With a sandwich and a bag of candy.

I was expecting it to be a lot more expensive, but no, it's still reasonable.

At the restaurant, for sure it costs me still more expensive than home, but

the portions are so huge that it still reasonable.

My burger yesterday with my fries was 13.50 euros.

So we can say twenty dollars in Canadians.

For the size of the hamburger ...

And the fries they were so good too it was ...

Reasonable.

So it rolls really well, it's about five kilometers that I'm on the big

road I wanted to reach.

Which is a good thing because it is heads north, towards Denmark, it's

where I want to go.

And I'm sure at that size of the road I'll find a Mc Donald

somewhere when I'm going to arrive in a city big enough to find wi-fi,

I will be able to make a trip from from there, find me something to sleep tonight.

And that one, well, that's perfect, there is a bike route.

Let's say that Germany is not as much bikable than the Netherlands.

The Netherlands, it must be the most cyclable country in the world.

But Germany, it's still really good.

Well it's not the most fun roads because.

I mean, we roll beside these things, but...

We feel safe by what we are on a way apart.

They do not have shoulder on the roads in Germany, it's ...

They do not have shoulder.

But they have bike lanes.

The decor start changing since for the first time since i'm Germany, it was

fields, just fields, flat.

There it is more and more hilly.

It goes up, it goes down.

The landscape changes.

It's just more exhausting.

Something that is not easy in Germany, it is to orient myself.

With the cities name...

Do we agree that with Rendsburg and Neumünster Nortorf.

With names like that, it's a little hard to remember.

There is no way, when you speak French, to memorize a name like that.

It just does not make sense.

So when I try to move towards a town well I look at the name, I try

to remember it, it does not work then ...

I look at the map again and reorient myself.

If we look at others there.

Lesson of the day ...

When we talk about autobahn in Germany, we think about those

limitless highways.

In fact, autobahn, in German, means highway.

So this is an autobahn and there is a limit which is 120 km / h.

On the other hand, on a certain part of the autobahn, there may be sections that are without

speed limits.

Haha! It's been about twenty minutes that I'm running around in the city trying

to find a wi-fi connection, I just found it.

Okay so I managed to find myself something at sixty kilometers over there.

Now it is 14:46 o'clock, so I have to put myself rinding and I'll get there.

There is wi-fi, a bed.

Well it should have wi-fi.

Yesterday, too, I was supposed to have some.

I am very happy to be crossing a part of Germany on bike.

I am very happy to meet people, to eat what they eat to make discoveries

to go see the historic places.

But it must be said that this section of Germany, I do not know about others,

but that one ...

It's not particularly exciting to ride a bike.

I mean it's...

It still looks like this everywhere.

I mean it varies a bit, but it's coming still to be the same at the same.

It's mind-blowing all the gasoline type they have to put in there

cars in Europe.

You know when the big sign is no longer big enough to put them all, and

have to install another one next to it, it is that there are many.

I have just arrived at the hotel, the owner is super friendly it's really great.

And there is a restaurant not too far.

I'm really hungry so I go, right now.

And tomorrow morning here we are supposed to have a great lunch.

It's like he's really good.

From what I read in the comments, and he told me he was really good too.

I can not wait to see.

I like to eat.

Heyhey.

It's just that I'll have to wait until eight o'clock to have breakfast.

I'll have to leave a little later, but I'm sixty kilometers ahead of

where I was supposed to be then.

We'll take a little more relax tomorrow.

Good, I finished in the only restaurant that there was in the ten kilometers around.

And it's a classy restaurant.

With waiters in tie jackets and a little haughty faces.

And I'm here with my T-shirt.

It annoys me, I do not like these places.

I hope at least that it will be good.

I received a cup of wine to drink my water, with a pitcher to pour water into my glass.

But there is just enough water in the pitcher to fill the entire glass.

Enjoy

It looks good though.

Hum! Cool! It's a fish with the bones, sick!

I do not know if it's me, but ...

It seems to me that I did not never seen that in a restaurant before.

But i've been told that it is normal.

Ah ah ah ah!!!

That one worth being counted.

I ordered a plate at 20 euros.

We can see it right here.

This is the first at the top.

And on my bill they chargerd 21 euros.

I'm not at 1 euro close, but I stubbornly.

And they told me that the mistake is that, the menu they gave me is the menu in English.

And the menus in English have the old prices and they did not think about changing them.

So it's their mistakes, but it's charging me still at 21.

So I told him no, and he told me he could not remove it.

So after an obstinacy he told me no, but really for 1 euro you can not ...

You know it's ok.

So I told him, well, if it's only one euro why don't you remove it if it's

just 1 euro and you tell me it's your mistake.

He still did not want to.

So I had to persevere about seven to eight minutes, and he took it away.

It's stupid.

Stupid.

I'm really not at 1 euro close but it's just a matter of principle.

And that's exactly what I told him.

By question of principle I will not pay it.

And he tells me, you're right, principle level, you're right.

But I can not take it away.

And if we go back outside, that's the same price that is displayed.

20 euros.

And I really did not want to pay more because it's the most expensive plate

I have paid since I am in Europe.

And it's really the most ordinary I have eaten.

I think all the rest of what I have ate it was quite exciting, the burger

Yesterday was something, meats I had eaten while entering it was wow.

What did I eat?

It seems to me that I ate something else and it was wow.

Ah yes the thing ... The pork leg WOW!

It was great.

But this...

Pfff ....

I paid for jackets and tie it was stupid.
