You know when I think about it, I have never driven a Nissan GT-R in Japan before.
In America I've driven a few, including the Liberty Walk Air Force GT-R.
My friend Paul owned that car.
But I've never driven one here in Japan!
Today is your chance.
You're absolutely right! Today's the day I'm driving one!
You can negotiate a drive for sure!
Yeah, they like Steve's POV so it shouldn't be to hard to get a test drive.
I think you will succeed!
Fujimura-san- Thanks in advance for the test drive!!
Hello Fujimura-san! How are you?
Its been quite a while!
I think Tokyo Auto Salon was the last time we met.
I've been excited about seeing this car!
It's awesome!! You guys did a great job!!
I remember meeting you guys the first time... You guys stood out to me.
You guys remind me of my son and I !
A Dad and a son totally into cars!
Cars are what connects me and my son too!
My son's name is Alex and he is 17 years old now...
if you watch my channel regularly you know he drives a Subaru STI...
Ever since he was a little kid, I've always had him drive with me in so many different cars.
We have enjoyed cars together ever since he was born!
Now that he drives too, we have even more fun taking 2 cars out!
That's like me and my Dad!
And that's the way it was with me and my Dad too!
This is something that happens between Dads and sons everywhere!
You guys are exactly that way!
I am totally influenced by my Dad.
That is so awesome!!
The 2 of you together designed the look of this car!
I am sure you butted heads sometimes too!
Yes we did!
But he is working now hard and paying money toward the car.
All my money goes to this car!
I think thats a great thing!
You're money is going toward something positive.
Its not being spent on booze and drugs, etc....
This is a great way to learn how to earn and spend your hard-earned money on something you like.
What do you think Dad?
Exactly like you said!
It's a little embarrassing to ask... especially because we don't really know each other well...
What would you think if we took your car for a little ride?
OMG!! How many keys do you have???
Are those your house keys too???
How many cars do you own??? LOL
Just a quick test drive, what do you say??
Lets do it!
YES!!! Let's go!!
Hi guys!
I love this car...
The orange and blue combo is awesome!
This car has air suspension?
Yes
The exhaust valves are still closed...
and it still sounds this good ??
Lets get that remote going and open them up!
Here we go!
It takes a couple of seconds before opening up...
Now they're open.
Oh wow!
That sounds so good!!!!
I love it!
I've never driven a GT-R in Japan before.
I can't believe you are driving our GT-R first!!
I am so excited for this chance.
More than anything I am glad I met you guys!
I kept wondering when you would get this car completed...
I was hoping you would have it done when I came back to Japan...
This car is so much fun!
Do you guys go on drives together a lot?
Yes we do.
My son and I like the same things so we get along well!
So you both like going cruising on the weekends!
It's so much fun when we see Ferraris and other cars while we're driving together...
The Nissan GT-R is Japan's Ferrari!
I can't get over the fact that Steve is driving my car!?!?!?!
You like Japan Steve?
Yes I do!
I am a true blooded American and love my country very much!
But Japan is very special to me...
Japan is a good country and the people are very kind.
So many people have helped me and were kind to me over the years...
People I never met before have gone out of their way for me so many times here in Japan...
Japanese want foreigners to enjoy Japan and to show them a very nice time here...
I think that is a fantastic thing.
As a foreigner I feel obligated to fit into and respect the culture here.
If I am here I want to do things the way they are expected to be done in Japan...
"When in Rome do as the Romans do".. this is an old saying that applies well today.
I have filmed a lot of cars over the years in Japan.
But I really can't remember a father and son team like you guys!
In America you see more Dad's and sons doing car stuff together, but not here so much...
I wonder why... maybe work is too busy??
The whole concept of family vs work is different in Japan and America too...
None of my friends hang out with their Dads.
Exactly my point...
Isn't the time with your Dad fun?
Yes it is, we get along and like the same stuff!
This drive is a lot of fun guys, thank you so much!
There is a tunnel up ahead... you mind if I open it up a bit?
Its all good Steve!
Wow!!! That is awesome!!!!
OMG!! So much fun!!!
Yeah!!!!
That was great!!!
High five Dad!!
That was so much fun!
I'm so excited I'm shaking!
Wow! Another tunnel!!
Can we do it again??
Yes!
I won't be able to sleep tonight!
I'm gonna hear that engine sound in my dreams!!
This car is awesome and fun too!!
and the fact you guys are enjoying it together make it even better!
I'm happy for you guys!
Thank you!
Thanks for letting me be your friend!
The world needs more Dads like you...
Us Dads need to step up and do more with our kids!!
I agree with you!
Kids need good guidance and leadership!
Yuro- you're a young guy...
I want to give you some advice...
Drive as many different cars as you possibly can...
Especially old cars.
If you drive an old car you will appreciate this car even more!
You will really appreciate the advancements in technology.
This car is light years ahead in technology compared to my Hakosuka.
If young guys just see these new cars, they will never understand or appreciate advancements in technology.
You're Dad and I understand it but you young guys need to also...
You mean like Skyline Japans and Hakosukas, right ?
Yep!
Today was great! Thanks for letting me drive your car.
I hope we can be friends for a long time...
When I bring my son I hope the 4 of us can go for a drive!
Absolutely Yes!!
Please remember to Subscribe to my channel!
Yuro- please tell everyone!
Please Subscribe!!!!
and Thumbs Up!! Be positive and move forward everyday!!!
