His 1 Christmas Wish Will Break Your Heart

As a kid, I wrote many letters to Santa, though I don't recall what I asked for.

I was fortunate enough to have the necessities, but I knew some children weren't as lucky

as me.

During the holiday season, my church has a giving tree.

On its branches are tags with basic information about a child: age; clothing size; shoe, sock,

or glove size.

When it comes to wishing big for Christmas, these children don't ask for things like

dolls, game consoles, or Leggos.

They request items like socks, gloves, pajamas, and clothing – things that seem like basic

necessities to most of us, but are luxuries to them.

Too many kids can't enjoy the holiday season because they don't have all they need to

live a happy, healthy life.

One little boy recently wrote a letter to Santa that showcases this very point.

Louis Williams is 9 years old.

He lives with his mom, Nicola, and sisters, Emilie and Olivia, in a two-room abode.

Nicola works two jobs, but she just can't seem to get on her feet.

The family has been shuffled from unit to unit of temporary government housing and Louis

has already lived in fourteen different housing units.

Aside from being very cramped, their current place is very damp.

One day at school, Louis collapsed.

The stress of his living situation was too great a burden for his young narrow shoulders

to bear.

Louis' grades are also poor.

His living accommodations don't allow him or his family members to have any private

space of their own.

Their current situation prompted the little boy to write a letter to Father Christmas

in the hopes things would change.

He didn't ask for toys or games, but the one thing he did ask for has touched hearts

around the globe.

"This year for Christmas please can I have a forever home," the little boy wrote.

"I don't want any new toys I just want all of my old toys that are in storage, and

I would like my own Lego bedroom with a desk to build my models.

Everyone is sad living here, and I just want us to be happy again.

Thank you and have a lovely Christmas.

Love from Louis Williams."

Louis's letter left his mother crushed.

As a parent, she feels the weight of the responsibility to provide the basics for her children.

"It winds me up because I work two jobs," she said.

"I work hard but just can't afford the rent down here.

"He has never had a somewhere he can call home," she continued.

"I feel like I've let him down.

Seeing what all the other children are asking for, this breaks my heart.

I do my best as a mother, but this was gutting."

There are many children like Louis and his sisters who are just hoping for the most basic

of necessities this holiday season.

We hope that by sharing this story, Louis' family and many others like it will find their

guardian angels.

Young girl is bullied, then bullies do something that puts her in the hospital

Stories of extreme bullying are becoming more and more common.

It seems that every day, there is a new account of a young person that is bullied so badly

that they no longer want to live.

It's horrible and sad situation for everyone involved.

It is incomprehensible that these events happen while parents and teachers just watch — adults

should take bullying seriously.

Each year, more than 20% of students in the United States report being bullied.

This number is just an estimate and may even be more — and bullying happens all over

the world.

Truthfully, even one student is too many.

In addition to the fact that they are being bullied, it is often the bullied child that

is hurt when adults intervene.

It is rare that the bully is punished or forced to leave the school, while the bullied child

may be labeled as a troublemaker by other students and adults.

In September, Leigh Davey shared her family's story on Facebook.

It was with great sorrow and courage that she finally decided to share all the terrible

things her daughter had endured.

Here's what she wrote: "Our beautiful girl has been subjected to

some awful bullying at school.

It's been a very private 7 months for us, dealing with this, immediate family only.

In this age of social media, children (because they are children) think it's ok to send

hateful messages (to me also along with their parents who won't take responsibility) without

consequences.

I've had calls from these children calling me an old hag because I've defended our

daughter, approached parents and pleaded with them to talk with their children and ask them

to stop.

I've even approached the children themselves, but been threatened by parents with harassment."

What about our child's entitlement?

"The WA department of education doesn't expel children from schools for bullying,

as they say: 'Every child is entitled to an education.'…

She's been sent home numerous times after self harming at school.

She's not allowed a pencil sharpener as she takes the blade out and cuts herself.

The WA department of education also told me: 'You should teach your child how to be resilient

against bullies.'

Yes, they said that.

It was posted to snapchat.

I spent 90 mins with the police as they tried to determine if it was photographing and distribution

of pornographic material.

Yes, a 12 year old can be prosecuted if the content breaches certain criteria."

It's ok to verbally attack at school because they can get away with it via a screen; so

think the same will happen in the real world.

Last week, we spent over 5 hours in [the ER] with psychiatrists, doctors, and nurses, because

our girl 'had a plan to commit suicide'.

On Tuesday, I am in court applying for a [restraining order] against a 12-year-old to keep her (the

bully) away from our beautiful girl—all because parents don't accept responsibility

for their children and schools can only do so much."

The school has a safety plan for the bullied child, our daughter.

And the bully?

"She only loses recess and lunch privileges.

This is infant school punishment!

Please, in this awful age of social media (or anti-social media as we call it) check

your children's messages.

Their devices are a privilege, nothing more, nothing less, so please make sure they are

being polite and respectful in their messages.

Teach the children to 'talk' not use text or social media to air their differences.

Bullying affects the whole family, not just the bullied.

It needs to stop and it needs to stop now!

128 countries at UN condemn Trump's Jerusalem decision - Duration: 2:09.

The UN General Assembly has overwhelmingly backed a resolution calling for U.S. President

Donald Trump's recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital to be withdrawn.

Thursday's vote came despite warnings from the U.S. that it could pull its funding from

the world body.

Widespread defiance of President Trump's declaration on Jerusalem was already apparent at Monday's

UN Security Council meeting when all other nations apart from the U.S. backed a resolution

calling on Trump to rescind his move.

That was eventually vetoed by America and therefore didn't get adopted.

That sparked the Palestinians and their Arab and Islamic supporters to seek Thursday's

General Assembly vote.

Results were 128 in favor, nine against and 35 abstentions.

The vote came despite warnings from the U.S. ambassador that Washington was willing to

sever its hefty funding to the world body.

When a nation is singled out for attack in this organization, that nation is disrespected.

The non-binding resolution states that any decisions regarding the status of Jerusalem

There have been unconfirmed reports that North Koreans are lining up for fuel as the price

soars.

And that led to speculation that China may have suspended gas supplies in response to

Pyongyang's continued missile tests.

But that has proven NOT to be true -- according to satellite analysis by 'Beyond Parallel,'

a website on North Korean affairs operated by Washington think tank the Center for Strategic

and International Studies.

Analyzing photos from between April and November this year the think tank found there were

no lines of vehicles queuing for fuel.

Traffic patterns around fuel stations, it said, were essentially unchanged... and that

the facilities appear to be in good state.

The think tank said whether there were long lines at a one time or another can't be said

definitively -- but even if there were, it's not a long-term issue.

EASY CHOCOLATE MOUSSE - For VB Ed 🍻 - Duration: 4:26.

Hi and a festive welcome to Steve's kitchen. Now I've got a big pot of

Branston Pickle bubbling away on the back there, it's going to take about an hour,

so that gives me time to do a request for me old mate VB Ed, who said in a

comment recently "would I make a chocolate mousse". So this one is for you

Ed. I'm going to be using a 70% cocoa, this is a brix cocoa and it's in the box.

I'm just going to give it a good slap and once I've got your attention don't

forget to subscribe and hit the bell, go on tell them Ed, it's a good thing to be

subscribed to Steve's kitchen and while I'm at it I'd like to wish a Merry

Christmas and a Happy New Year to Stuart Pearson, his girlfriend Sammy asked me

if I would. So let's get on and make a delicious chocolate mousse. We're going to

want 140 grams that's 5 ounces of dark strong chocolate, although I'm using a

70% high-end chocolate you can pretty much use any chocolate you enjoy, so just

knock your socks off. I have a cup of thick whipping cream here and I'm just

going to add about 1/4 of it in with my chocolate, in a microwave proof jug or

dish. We want to then take that and just blitz it in the microwave for about 30

seconds. We'll take the rest of that cream, pop it into a bowl and using a

hand whisk I just want to beat this a little bit, not too much, we want to

increase the volume. Now don't be tempted to over whisk the cream at this point, we

want it reasonably thick and aerated. Now I just want to separate out three egg

whites from their yolks, so I'm going to do it the old-fashioned way. We're just

going to break the egg open and then a little bit from side to side and I'll

pop the yolks into another bowl. Now my second yolk I'm going to drop it in with my

cream, just to add some extra richness in there and now what we want to do is just

take the egg whites and we want to whisk these up until they're nice and stiff

and I do want those egg whites nice and stiff. I hope you're paying attention Ed.

Now our chocolate and cream has been in the microwave and the cream has warmed

up and started to melt the chocolate, so I'm just going to stir this together

until I get what effectively is a chocolate ganache. Now it is Christmas

after all and this one is for you Ed, I'm going to add a cap full of an orange

liqueur in with my chocolate. Now we can pour that rich dark chocolate in with

our cream, a gentle mix through of the chocolate with the cream and I'm going to

add in half of my lovely soft egg whites and then we want to gently fold this in

with our chocolate. Now you don't want to over mix, as that starts to come together

I'm going to take the rest of the egg whites and pop them in there like big

fluffy clouds and I want to gently mix these together until I've got a nice

even mousse and I've got this lovely smooth mousse here. Now all that remains

is for me to get a couple of glasses and I'm just going to pour them into the

center of the glass, almost all the way to the top and then we just want to set

these in the fridge for an hour or so to set up nice and firm. Now the mousse has

set up beautifully there in the fridge and I've popped out and got myself a

punnet of raspberries Ed, 4 bucks for a little punnet like this, absolutely

ridiculous but I am dedicated. We're going to decorate this up a tiny little

bit and then I just want to get tucked into it, if it already wasn't rich enough

I just want to put a little bit of dark cocoa over the top, a piece of mint, just

to make it look pretty, I'm going to place a raspberry in the center there.

Now I just want some beautiful curls of white chocolate, so I'm going to dip in

there now and give this a try. Now be careful although a chocolate

mousse looks as light as an Angel's feather, it's going to hit you in the

stomach like the devil's hoof. Here we go yum yum wow that is so rich, so delicious
