Youtube daily report Dec 21 2017

How are you doing guys from Facebook and YouTube!

I hope you all are doing great.

Today I want to announce a special giveaway

which we are doing thanks to IK Multimedia

with very special products.

Some of you are asking me:

Tony, how you manage to make the Facebook live

and Instagram live broadcasts with that high quality audio?

So, today I'm going to show you the secret.

And we are going to giveaway those products to you.

This is the iRig Pro I/O by IK Multimedia.

I'm using this for Instagram

because it records in mono.

We're giving this away on Instagram.

If you are interested,

look for me on Instagram to see it.

But, the one I'll be giving away here in YouTube and Facebook

is the iRig Pro Duo.

which works on stereo.

So I'm going to show you that one too.

Ok, so here I have the iRig Pro Duo.

This is mine.

As you can see, it's quite used.

But don't worry, this is the one I'll be giving away

and IK will be giving me a brand new.

No, I'm just kidding.

iRig, I mean IK Multimedia will send a brand new one for you.

And I'll keep this one for me

because it's still working and it works perfectly.

This will last for a long time

because it was made for war.

And I want to show you how it works.

I need a table.

That's perfect. We have the iRig.

Your smartphone with the cable

and a mic with a cable.

And we are ready to record

or to make a transmisión en vivo, with pro quality audio.

So, the process to record audio

or to make a transmisión en vivo in Facebook or YouTube

with quality

is that you have to open an app called Garage Band

or any other app for audio recording.

So I'm going to do a test now.

And the preamp of IK Multimedia is great.

The audio quality is unbelievable.

For it to read your interface,

you can open Facebook,

then you go to the app

and you choose to make a Facebook Live.

And as it's already open,

it will be reading the audio on your mic

or the audio from your console,

a different mix, whatever it is.

And this is very useful for musicians,

bands, singers.

But also for people doing seminars,

or vloggers,

anyone who wants to make a live stream with quality audio

or simply wants to record audio

with professional quality.

You got to have the iRig Duo or

or the iRig I/O for mono recording.

So this is stereo for Facebook and YouTube

which support stereo, but

on Instagram everything is in mono.

If you are interested in the iRig Pro I/O for Instagram.

log in to Instagram @tonysuccar

so you can enter the giveaway and I hope you win.

Okay, let's clean this up.

We are giving away two iRig Pro Duos

one on Facebook and one on YouTube.

If you are on Facebook, you just have to leave a comment

explaining why do you want the iRig,

you have to share the video and follow me on this page.

If you are on YouTube, you also have to comment

explaining why you want the iRig,

you have to like the video and subscribe to my channel.

These are very special products, so I want someone very special to win.

I wish good luck to all of you,

whether you're a musician, a singer, a vlogger,

a videographer... whatever you are.

Videographer, ¿existe esa palabra?

Don't forget to visit the IK Multimedia Facebook page in English: @ikmultimedia

They have lots of news about what they're doing with their amazing products.

If you are a musician or whatever,

you have to check it out and keep updated about all the stuff they are doing.

Thank you guys! And this is the second giveaway we are doing

and we have many more to come.

Stay tuned!

And you know, ¡si les gusta el sabor, suscríbanse para más!

AG Jeff Sessions Ordered An Investigation Of Hillary's Latest Scandal.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions ordered a probe into the Uranium One deal after months of

speculation that there may have been foul play, according to BizPacReview.

The Department of Justice, per orders by Sessions himself, have begun interviewing FBI agents

who looked into the deal.

The Uranium One deal refers to a Russian company's purchase of U.S. uranium reserves.

The deal has been linked to Hillary and Bill Clinton during her time as secretary of state.

Check it out:

DOJ officials promised Congress the department would look into whether a special counsel

is warranted to investigate the uranium deal, and possibly, bring charges.

On the orders of Attorney General Jeff Sessions, the DOJ has interviewed FBI agents who looked

at the deal, where a Russian-backed company bought a uranium firm with mines in the U.S.,

NBC News reports.

DOJ officials promised Congress the department would look into whether a special counsel

is warranted to investigate the uranium deal, and possibly, bring charges.

The 2010 sale of the Uranium One firm to Russian business was approved by nine departments

in the Obama administration, one of which was the Department of State led by Hillary

Clinton at the time.

President Donald Trump has publicly asked why the DOJ has not investigated the Clintons

for their role in the deal.

While Sessions has recused himself from any investigations related to the 2016 presidential

campaign and Russia's role attempting to influence it, he and Deputy Attorney General

Rod Rosenstein would oversee the appointment of a special counsel to investigate the deal,

the New York Times reported in November.

Congress is investigating multiple angles of the Uranium One deal, and the Senate recently

interviewed a Russian lobbyist turned FBI informant who gave investigators information

about the deal.

President Trump has asked on numerous occasions why there's not been an investigation of

the Clintons' involvement in the deal.

While Sessions has recused himself from any investigations related to the 2016 presidential

campaign and Russia's role attempting to influence it, he and Deputy Attorney General

Rod Rosenstein would oversee the appointment of a special counsel to investigate the deal,

the New York Times reported in November.

Congress, however, is probing the deal themselves, and recently interviewed a Russian lobbyist

who's now acting as an FBI informant.

BREAKING: Obama Going Down TODAY – Trump Has Had ENOUGH. - Duration: 5:00.

BREAKING: Obama Going Down TODAY – Trump Has Had ENOUGH.

Ever since Trump took office, Barack Hussein Obama has been doing everything in his power

to take our new President out.

Trump has constantly been plagued with leaks coming from spies that Obama has implanted

throughout the White House, where our top intelligence keeps winding up in the hands

of the liberal media.

In addition to constant leaks, we learned earlier this week from a rogue United Nations

official that Obama is actively engaging in a coup d'état against President Trump,

which is the first time this has happened to a sitting president in our nation's history.

As Obama continues to break federal law as a civilian by meeting with foreign diplomats

to plot for Trump's removal, Trump has finally had enough.

Now there's a secret plot to take Obama and his crooked FBI and DOJ officials out,

in a plan being actively led by several members of the GOP.

We've learned in recent months that the FBI is riddled with Obama's minions and

has transformed into the rogue criminal arm of Obama's shadow government.

The FBI is now fully operating as essentially Obama's secret police, as these law enforcement

agencies are now doing the bidding of slimy politicians, rather than upholding their oath,

which is to pursue impartial justice on behalf of the public.

But that is all about to change.

According to breaking news, "a new report reveals lawmakers are secretly building a

criminal case against top Justice Department and FBI officials for mishandling the contents

of a dossier that describes alleged ties between President Donald Trump and Russia," according

to the Gateway Pundit.

Politico reports:

A group of House Republicans has gathered secretly for weeks in the Capitol in an effort

to build a case that senior leaders of the Justice Department and FBI improperly — and

perhaps criminally — mishandled the contents of a dossier that describes alleged ties between

President Donald Trump and Russia, according to four people familiar with their plans.

A subset of the Republican members of the House intelligence committee, led by Chairman

Devin Nunes of California, has been quietly working parallel to the committee's high-profile

inquiry into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election.

[…]

The people familiar with Nunes' plans said the goal is to highlight what some committee

Republicans see as corruption and conspiracy in the upper ranks of federal law enforcement.

The group hopes to release a report early next year detailing their concerns about the

DOJ and FBI, and they might seek congressional votes to declassify elements of their evidence.

So far, the Republicans leading the effort are being extremely tight-lipped about their

plans, obviously so these swamp creatures don't have time to build a defense against

what's about to hit them.

When pressed for more details, Rep. Mike Conaway (R-TX) replied to POLITICO, "I don't talk

about what we do behind closed doors."

"I'm not going to talk about that," added Rep. Peter King (R-NY).

The heads of Obama's shadow government are bout to go roll, as House investigators are

now building an active criminal case against these swamp rats, as Attorney Jeff Sessions

makes his move.

The Gateway Pundit went on:

House investigators appear to be building criminal case while advocating for Attorney

General Jeff Sessions to appoint a second special counsel to investigate the FBI and

Justice Department's role in the dossier.

According to Fox News reporter Jake Gibson, Attorney General Jeff Sessions has called

on a senior Justice Department attorney to look into appointing a special counsel to

investigate recently demoted official Bruce Ohr's contacts with Fusion GPS.

Thus far, Sessions has found no cause to appoint a second special counsel.

According to the Washington Post, Comey's FBI agreed to pay the British Spy who compiled

the garbage dossier after the election to continue to dig up dirt on Trump and Russia.

The FBI pulled out of this arrangement once the author of the dossier, Christopher Steele

was publicly identified in media reports.

Disgraced FBI agent Peter Strzok played a key role in analyzing the infamous 'Trump

dossier,' supplied by shady research firm Fusion GPS.

The FBI is absolutely out of control at this point as it clearly considers itself above

the law and is merely working as the arm of Obama's rogue criminal secret police.

These crooked swamp creatures have absolutely no interest in justice, and are simply existing

to do the bidding of Barack Hussein Obama who continues to prove how far he's willing

to go to have Trump removed as President, where he continues to break federal law by

meeting as a civilian with foreign officials behind President Trump's back.

It's awesome to see that Trump's administration is finally going to investigate these crooked

officials, and bring justice back to the FBI and DOJ.

Could F-Zero Find its Place on Nintendo Switch? - Duration: 11:15.

Nintendo, or, more specifically, Miyamoto have been passing the buck on F Zero for some

time now.

The reasons given have been controller interface, which, wut? & the more reasonable question

of what haven't they done with F Zero before that fans want to see in the future.

Ok, fine.

I have a couple things that may work…

Off the bat, I wanna address 2 things.

1st: I can see where Miyamoto is coming from, for him, I'm sure, F-Zero seems a bit redundant.

They already have a high selling racing franchise in Mario Kart.

Something with a very clear direction.

Meanwhile, they aren't sure of where to take F-Zero and in comparison, it doesn't

sell very well.

I disagree, but, I do see where they're coming from, just wanted to touch on that.

2nd: I'm not 1 for treating most things as sacred.

ESPECIALLY things that have not proven to be a high ranking performers in the past.

& to clear up what that means, because this is always a thing in the comments of these

sorts of videos.

Yes, F-Zero doesn't sell well on average when compared to other things they could be

making instead.

I'm not saying I dislike it because of that, I'm not saying it's bad.

All I'm saying is they have a lot of room for improvement and no real things holding

them back from making those improvements.

So, if you expected me to just say: "Well, Nintendo.

It's simple.

Just do what you did last time, make it prettier, put it on Switch."

You're gonna be disappointed.

What I think they should do is 2 fold.

The first part, will play well to the diehards, but, first, I gotta address 1 more thing.

I appreciate F-Zero fans.

In fact, we have a pretty loyal subscriber literally NAMED F-Zero & we like him a lot,

so, don't take this as any sort of attack on the thing you love, but, I don't think

the things diehards want for niche franchises should be taken as gospel.

That goes for any franchise.

There's a reason why the niche things are niche.

What they are currently in their unchanged state isn't working and because of this,

they need changes.

I'm here to some suggest changes, not anything that'll completely strip F-Zero of what

makes it F-Zero.

I want Nintendo to take the things that those things and expand on them.

Feel free to suggest your own.

So, what sets F Zero as we know it apart?

What SHOULDN'T change?

Well, for one, its setting.

F Zero is a futuristic racing franchise mainly set on Earth in the 26th century.

An earth thats trade, technology transfer, and cultural interchange has been completely

changed by close relationships with alien worlds.

A group of super rich interplanetary merchants decided to create the "F Zero Grand Prix"

in a classic roman collosseum style move purely to bring some excitement to their lives.

Rich people apparently get bored sometimes?

These races were initially frowned upon by the general public because of the inherent

danger, but, eventually they get over that because futuristic nascar is too good for

even rights activists to pass up on.

Some games in the franchise follow this timeline, some have alternate timelines, but, ultimately

the core theme of futuristic Nascar league funded by apathetic rich dudes holds true,

so, obviously we should keep that.

BUT I do think a change could be beneficial here.

Double down on this.

Mario Kart has next to no plot, F Zero's plot is there and is pretty well established

and has potential to be interesting provided whatever team takes it over makes it more

of a focus.

Most people are completely unaware of even the plot details that I just told you.

I'm sure many of you watching this video didn't know the game had a plot to begin

with.

It's likely that most of your experience with F Zero is tied to Smash Bros and even

that game isn't given much of an idea of what to do to celebrate the lore of F Zero,

that's saying something for a franchise that fleshed out Kid Icarus's plot, a game

with 2 entries to its name prior to Pitt's introduction to the franchise.

To be fair, F Zero has made an effort in the more recent entries to establish lore, but,

it still felt to me like a fighting game campaign.

Sure, it's there and fans of the series know it front to back, but, it certainly isn't

a major selling point of the game.

I think F Zero on Switch should have a strong enough focus on its story to warrant it being

a major part of its ad campaigns.

The next core tenet of F Zero I want to talk about is tied to the plot and setting, but,

it goes a bit deeper than that.

It ultimately determines how good the rest of that stuff will even pay off.

F Zero is known to have a pretty colorful cast of character, perhaps even more known

than the type of game these characters originate from, again, because of Smash.

The anime that aired on Fox in the early 2000s probably served as an introduction to these

characters for some too.

MOST PEOPLE, though.

Don't even know anyone beyond Captain Falcon.

I think F Zero on Switch should bring all of these personalities even more into the

spotlight.

We don't necessarily even need new characters.

There's plenty to pull from post GX so fleshing those characters out into more interesting

and engaging characters beyond the typical Nintendo character traits in games like F

Zero and Punch Out that are where are you from and what is your job.

How did they learn how to race in the 1st place?

Why do these characters care other than the obvious prize money?

What relationships do they have with one another?

Then comes the question of which character do we play as?

Should it be a game with the incarnation of Captain Falcon that Smash fans know?

Or should it be a personal thing.

A campaign that takes inspiration from the anime's approach to Captain Falcon.

In the anime, Captain Falcon isn't 1 particular person.

It's a title that the best of the best can claim.

Should that be used as a way to bring customization in?

I think so.

Allowing players the opportunity to create their own F Zero contestant that's competing

to win the TITLE of Captain Falcon could be an interesting twist.

We've had the ability to customize our machines, why not take it one step further and allow

racers the same level of customization.

WHICH is a good transition into the actual point of the game, racing.

Obviously, the Switch game should maintain the high octane fast paced racing that F Zero

is known for, that much is a given.

However, I think Nintendo would want to introduce some sort of new mechanics to the game so,

here are a few ideas.

A big focus in F Zero is the variety of machines, later the customizability of those machines

and now I think the functionality and status of those machines should become a major factor

or at least, a bigger factor.

The machines having a stat system that goes beyond the typical speed, acceleration, handling,

etc.

To do that, I think adding special slots for offense and defense would further set F Zero

apart from Mario Kart.

Think of them as standing Mario Kart items with varying amounts of strength and effectiveness

based on the kind of abilities, how many you have equipped (allow a maximum of 3 but each

ability gets weaker the more abilities you choose to equip to your machine.)

In addition to that, the damage inflicted to these machines is a mechanic in the games,

but, that's limited to, you crashed into too many things, you were destroyed, that's

it.

The damage system doesn't play into strategy in any way.

It's just a punishment system.

Your tires being damaged should affect your handling.

Your engine being damaged should affect speed or acceleration.

Things like that, I think, can set F Zero apart.

Make the futuristic racer a bit more technical.

Not racing sim levels of depth, but, deeper than a kart racer like Mario Kart.

The other part of the gameplay, in single player, there should be a currency system.

I think using money in the games world as another mechanic to strategize around would

make it more enjoyable as well.

Will you invest in a better machine?

A higher quality pit crew?

Maybe even bribe investors on the Grand Prix board for a small chance to get an edge on

the competition at the risk of being fined or even disqualified if you're not lucky

or careful enough.

Beyond that, add the typical local play stuff, add online multiplayer races and grand prix.

Throw in a classic mode without the new item and machine mechanics to pacify the diehards

a tiny bit.

The last little tidbit is about the developer.

There's 4 options the way I see it.

1 is for Nintendo EPD to assign a team of in-house developers to create the game.

Ironically I think this option is the LEAST likely.

Nintendo doesn't seem to have a whole lot of passion for the F Zero brand.

That's not to say they wouldn't be open to it, I just don't think it'd be their

1st choice.

Another option would be to figure out a way to sell Criterion, the studio behind the Burnout

games and more importantly for Nintendo fans, the Wii U port of Need for Speed Most Wanted

on the game There were rumblings of this potentially happening in the Wii U era but the studio

ultimately turned it down due to the fact that they'd never truly own the game.

They preferred to use their resources to games they would.

Even IF Nintendo could somehow make this 1 worth their while, this is admittedly the

worst option, because, that'd make F Zero for Switch, at least in part, an EA game.

&, it's very clear in this day and age, NO ONE, wants that.

The 3rd option is similar, being that it's from a 3rd party publisher but, I feel fans

will embrace A LOT more, and that's to allow Shin'en, the developers behind Face Racing

Neo & Fast RMX to take on the project.

They've offered their help for some time now and they've basically been auditioning

for that very role for the last couple years.

Many would say they've made the best F Zero game in years and they are the only devs outside

of Nintendo proper that can put their hardware to the absolute test.

If we got the game from them, one things for sure, it would be true to the franchise, and

it would run great, and it would be gorgeous, just like their previous work.

& finally, my personal favorite possibility, let Retros Studios do it.

No dev since Rare Studios has shown the ability to renew and enhance Nintendo I.P like them

so I think they'd take all of the care in the world to create the game that F Zero needs

most.

If it happens, of course.

F-Zero could very well never see another AAA release in our lifetime let alone on Switch.

I do think it's fun to speculate and talk about though.

Hopefully Nintendo feels the itch to bring F Zero to Switch after all.

But, those are MY thoughts what do YOU think?

Do you have any ideas that'll set F Zero apart?

Does it even need it?

Apple Confesses to Slowing Older iPhones - Duration: 2:38.

Apple Confesses to Slowing Older iPhones

Apple says it slows some of its iPhone models to compensate for the diminishing performance of their batteries. (CCM) — Apple has admitted that its software deliberately slows down older iPhone models, according to a BBC report.

Some Apple users have noticed that their iPhones have slowed, and many suspected that the company makes this happen to encourage them to purchase newer models.

But Apple denies this, saying that it slows the devices because their batteries performance degrade over time.

Lithium-ion batteries become less capable of supplying peak current demands when in cold conditions, [when they] have a low battery charge, or as they age over time, which can result in the device unexpectedly shutting down to protect its electronic components, the company explained.

It said that a software feature added to iPhone 6, 6S, and SE models last year slows the devices to smooth out the instantaneous peaks only when needed to prevent the device from unexpectedly shutting down during these conditions.

The company added that this feature has been extended to the iPhone 7 with iOS 11. 2, and that it intends to slow other products down for the same reason in the future.

Chris Green, from technology consultancy Bright Bee, expressed mixed feelings about Apples actions. Youre taking away performance that somebody has paid for.

But I do see where theyre coming from. By slowing the phone, it does help mitigate the problem of the diminishing battery, he said in the report.

MGTOW labeled content with PUA advice - MGTOW - Duration: 6:10.

Hello gentlemen. So I bumped into this YouTube video that slapped the label of

MGTOW on the title. I then continued to watch a few of the content creators

videos and he seemed very well-spoken...and a decently intelligent man. He seemed to

have a great setup for his videos but I came across a video that totally

turned me off. On this particular video he maintained the label of MGTOW on

the title but he sounded nothing more than a PUA. Everyone in the videos'

comments seemed to be supportive in this as well. Has MGTOW become that

mainstream that even the newest content creators just hopped on board without

conducting any research? Am I wrong for thinking that there's a

difference between PUAs and MGTOW? Are PUAs just taking on the MGTOW name

because it's more popular nowadays? Have the new content creators lost sight

of the philosophy of MGTOW just for the sake of subscribers and donations?

Well let's start off with figuring out what exactly defines a PUA and I think

it can be agreed across the manosphere that POS have induced the red pill and

with doing so they have the red-pill knowledge of female nature, hypergamy and

our gynocentric society here in the West. Although they fully understand the risk

that comes with chasing after vagina they still do so anyway. Now there are

MGTOWs that still do that as well,... but I'll get to that shortly so just stay

with me here. PUAs are against marriage and commitments due to the harsh

repercussions in our Gynocentric society. PUAs are men whose

ultimate goal is to have sex with women by any means necessary. So, now let's take

a look at MCTOW. What defines a MGTOW? They too have induced a red pill and

have knowledge of female nature hypergamy and all that stuff. Most MGTOW

still continue to be with women as well but there are others who just outright

reject women. They also reject marriage in any kind of commitment with women as

well however, what separates MGTOW men from PUAs is that

MGTOW men reject the whole idea of women on a pedestal. If there's a choice

between doing something that improves yourself or another a friend or whatever

in any way shape or form..... for instance you know, I recently rejected a young

lady because she wanted my undivided attention. I'm currently in a university

and I'm studying a stem degree unfortunately for her I devote majority

of my time studying and improving myself rather than entertaining a woman. It just

doesn't make sense to me. I'm expected to spend all this money to court you. Spend

my time entertaining you all for a five-second orgasm. Half of these women

just lay there and expect me to run a marathon. Why not just jack off and get

your five-second orgasm and then go for a run it's the same sh** anyway. ....Anyway,

I'm sorry I got into a tangent that's just a personal example I wanted to use

so as you can see MGTOW men are really not that different from PUAs except

that we choose not to play the game. We choose not to be a slave to vagina but

focus those same efforts and channel that same energy into things that are

productive. PUAs are a slave to the game, for as

long as they are slaves to vagina and I don't have a problem with that at all. As

long as they understand the risks that come along with it. My issue is the use

of both terms in an incorrect fashion. You cannot preach PUA advice on a channel

and slap the name MGTOW on it because they're not interchangeable. Ultimately,

they both at the very core are different. PUAs "still" quote unquote seek

validation of women as long as they do anything and everything for that

validation, they cannot be MGTOW. This is not a bashing session on PUAs. I

don't have a problem with them, in fact one of my closest friends is a PUA but I

want to drive the point that regardless of who is more mainstream

Slit-Scan Disc Camera - Part 2 (3D Printed + Planetary Gear) - Duration: 13:20.

In the last video I set myself the task to make an unusual photographic camera using

a 3D printer.

The camera I began making combines two forms of photography – slit-scan in which photographic

film passes along a slit to produce an image which removed the time distortion created

by a shutter, and a rotary disc camera which was a 80s gimmick.

The first camera I made had a direct drive which meant the turning handle was connected

to the rotary disc, and for the second I added a reduction gear to an anulus gear on the

rear of the rotary disc.

This meant I had to the turn the handle almost 6 time to make one full rotation of the disc

which would hold the photographic paper.

But I ran into trouble because I couldn't rotate the disc slowly enough by hand to expose

the paper and produce a recognisable image.

In this video I attempt to add a planetary gear to the camera, to further reduce the

rotational speed of the disc.

Ok so if I'm already losing you, maybe watch the first video if you haven't done so already

although if you have done so already, I may have already lost you.

So planetary gears are a type of gear assembly normally used to increase or decrees torque

at the expense of speed.

The higher the torque the slower the speed.

The most common application for us woodworkers, would be in our drills and you can see some

examples on screen now.

Now I don't want to reinvent the wheel with this, so I happen to find an example on Thingyverse

by Aubenc in May 2012 - it was quite a while ago.

I was having trouble importing the files into Fusion 360, so I printed them out produced

a little model and aligned that to the camera that I was working on.

I took the measurement from the 3D printed planetary gear set, and than produced the

appropriate fitting on the camera's body.

I found a few videos of people assembling this particular gear set.

I am not sure who or which was the person who designed it - and often the videos are

really badly filmed and it wasn't clear how this thing came together.

So I'll just describe that in this section now.

The outside gear with the teeth facing inwards is the annulus or ring gear, and the one in

the centre is the sun gear.

The three between those are the planet gears and these put together produce a set.

I put the three planet gears onto an arm which holds each in a set position – in this case

at 120 degrees between each one.

(Get it while it's hot) These are then centred between the annulus gear.

The sun gear has a flange which clips onto the shafts for the arm that holds the three

planetary gears.

The sun gear is longer than the other gears and bridges the sets, stepping the gearing

down along each set stepping the gear down along the sets.

The more sets you add the higher the torque and the lower the gearing speed.

I was really struggles to imagine how this work – which is why I printed this out.

I could physically see the parts come together and understanding how I might go about utilising

the design or designing something similar.

So I probably need a few more stages but essentially if I can replace this handle with the gear

on the outside - that bit looks like an ok size as well.

I should be able to get this disc to turn really slowly with one of these.

I am now going to edit the 3D model of the camera.

I'm going to modify this section of the turning disc - so I can get a positive lock from the

planetary gear that I've just printed from Thingiverse.

What I've done already is extended the back plate so that the heads of the screws can

fit inside.

I will lock those down with a nut and build the planetary system onto the plate, so it's

a little more rigid.

So I'm going to create a new sketch on the top section, the mouse is a bit shit at the

moment.

What I'm going to do, is make a circle that is 8.2mm - that's the outside.

And then I'm going to measure between between the lowest point of the tooth that 5.4mm.

I then counted the number of teeth I would need

to make space for.

In this case nine.

I created a sketch for a single tooth spaced between the two circles I drew, and then performed

a circular pattern command to repeat that around the central point.

What I should be able to do is create a circular pattern.

I'll select these four lines.

And the centre will be over there.

And if I make nine.

I extruded the sketch downwards cutting it from the spur-gear, but I was left with a

raised cylinder which was part of an original sketch for a mounting screw.

I deleted that and extruded an additional cylindrical recess for the shape of the marrying

part.

Put a circle in there, and make it a little bit bigger so I know it's going to fit.

2.8mm.

And that is 3mm down.

And that bit should fit this section here.

Ok lets see if this fits.

I used red PLA as I began to run out of black PLA, and I wanted to test the print before

committing what I had left.

It's letting a lot of light through.

You can see my fingers in the background.

3,2,1 I just noticed that... the 3D printer is really loud when the directional mic is

pointed at it.

I also noticed that the disc is press tightly onto the section that is meant to hold the

slit.

And if it remains like this that means when the photographic paper is put in there, plus

the slit and the tape to hold those, it's going to be very difficult to turn the paper.

The camera which needs to be light tight may not also close.

So I am going to drop the surface of the disc back by extruding it 1mm.

So this project is as much about learning how to use a 3D printer as it is about making

a camera.

One of the 3d printed threaded rods broke, but the principle works so what I will do

is replace those with M4 machines screws, and to hold each section with nuts.

Ok I'm printing a new back.

And that's because I've worked out the assembly of the planetary gear.

Obviously I am printing it in black because it needs to be light tight and this isn't.

You can see the silhouette of the disc.

Also as a back up went and bought some Polaroid instax film this is the squa... this says

wide.

So hopefully it works on the disc.

I just printed another disc as well to make it a little bit thinner - I missed calculated

that.

Ok so I'm going to open the packet of the Polaroid paper.

What I'm going to need to do is take a piece of paper out from the container while making

sure I don't expose it so I'm going to do that in this changing bag.

Yeah it looks pretty dark in there.

And then I'm going to place it through the rollers of this pasta maker in the darkroom,

in the changing bag.

I'll probably have to sandwich the paper on some leather or bits of chard.

Ok I just took some pictures using this mechanism here.

And I did these outside to get a bit more like.

And I think there's something there.

You can see a gradient of grey on some of these lines, which I guess is a positive thing.

It means it's been exposed.

That ring is something in the slit which I haven't cleared.

So it has slowed it down enough.

That's something there.

It's really hard to tell.

I also tried to use the same mechanism with some Polaroid film, the pasta maker.

These two I just exposed the paper in the dark room to the red light so I'm guessing

that's kind of the light.

So these ones I didn't develop on the slit scan mainly because these were too small and

I can't actually rotate them.

And the way this stuff works is the developing chemical is in a sachet here, which get squeezed

out like kethcup along the back of the Polaroid.

And erm, it's sealed and I think what happens is the remaining liquid gets deposited sachet

here or this pouch.

The pasta maker isn't great for it because the actually roller in a Polaroid camera has

springs which compensate for this last section here just so that you don't pop that Polaroid.

I'm already bored of this so I'm going to have a break and work on something else...

Like the bloody CNC machine I'm trying to build.

Anyway thanks for sticking with this one even though the final outcome wasn't a complete

success.

I was hoping to use the odd pictures are Christmas decorations but I didn't produce enough

of them to merit putting on a tree.

This has been a good learning experience and I feel a lot more confident design things

for and using the 3D Printer but if I come back to this I'll need to work on some kind

of better mechanism to develop polaroid that isn't a pasta roller.

Why I wouldn't stop screen time for children with autism - Duration: 5:51.

Hi I'm Dr. Mary Barbera, Autism Mom and Board Certified Behavior Analyst. I

recently got a question from a speech pathologist on one of my private

Facebook groups asking how she could support a family in reducing or

eliminating screen time for their two-year-old with autism who was

watching up to four hours of TV a day. Before I get into my stance on screen

time I just want to remind everyone that all of our leisure skills are automatic

reinforcement so shooting basket ball into a net until you get the score

and the baskets, that's a leisure activity and it's a form of

automatic reinforcement. Also playing the violin by yourself until you can get the

right notes and it sounds good and watching reality TV or reading a book

are also leisure skills that are automatically reinforcing. So when we're

thinking about a child with autism who lacks language skills, probably lacks

play skills and lacks leisure activities, it becomes really tricky to reduce

or eliminate screen time. I remember when Lucas was first diagnosed and he was

three years old and we started with ABA therapy and our Lovaas ABA

consultant came in and my husband right away the first thing out of his

mouth basically was "how do we get you know Lucas to stop watching so

much TV, he's just obsessed with watching Barney

and it's hours and hours a day." And our consultant said something that really

caught my attention. She basically said that this was Lucas's form of stimming.

And that if we took away the TV without replacing that behavior and that time

with some other skill we might have more problem behaviors

and different problem behaviors because he was going to need to fill his time

somehow. So it was either watching Barney or if we totally you know turned off

Barney and he didn't have the play skills or the language skills to fill

his time he might start leaving the house, writing on walls with a pen,

climbing on furniture, all of things that he did do when he wasn't engaged with

something. So she really kind of planted the seed that perhaps screen time wasn't

as bad as my husband was thinking it was. And over the years both as a parent and

professional I see families really struggling with this and now not we're

not only dealing with TV but we're dealing with iPads and computers and

iPhones and iPods and kids in general are watching a lot of screen time. I

don't necessarily think it's necessary to reduce or eliminate screen time right

away with children with autism before a full assessment and plan are developed

because, like I said that, time will be filled with other things. I've had

clients who have very poor leisure skills and no play skills who are

rocking or banging their head on hard surfaces, I had one little boy who was

only 2 who banged for 3 hours a day and had an open lesion on the back of his

head when I first went in. I mean that's how understimulated he was and so we can

go from that low level stim to children who are keeping themselves busy but just

repetitively putting straws in a bottle or building blocks repetitively for

hours. So if I had my choice between having a child who's 2 or 3 build

repetitively the same things over and over again

for an hour or watch an episode of a children's TV show I'd actually pick the

screen time because I think there's more language involved, there's potentially

imitation, there's potentially learning the characters names. If you can watch TV

with the child, if you can engage with them with iPad apps that are

developmentally appropriate, that's great too. And I know as a parent there are

times when you have to get things done, you have to get a shower, you have to put

a load of washing, you have to turn your back and and cook or do something like

that. And you need something to engage your child so that they aren't

getting into dangerous situations or doing repetitive behaviors, either motor

behaviors like hitting their head or rocking or repetitive play behaviors

that are just going to get them kind of stuck. So I'm not advocating that

two-year-olds watch four hours of TV but I am realistic to know that screen time

isn't all bad, especially for our kids with autism before we can teach them the

skills they need to replace that screen time. Hope you enjoyed this video blog

and I'll see you next week.

Every Time Pearl Silenced Herself : Steven Universe Theory - Duration: 10:04.

Hey everyone!

This is Hailey from Cartoon Universe, and I am finally bringing you guys another SU

analysis video after quite a while.

Before I begin the video, I would like to mention that at the end of the video I am

going to be talking about this video's sponsor, Fizzpix.

Enjoy the video!

So, as you probably all know, SU finally came back with six new episodes.

And one of the main points of interest that many people have pointed out was how Pearl

reacted to trying to inform Steven about very important details regarding her past in Gemcation.

I've had it up to here with your nonsense Pearl, tell us what's up!

But possibly... it's not entirely up to her...

Watching her hand in this scene, it is literally silencing her.

It's like she has to fight it to say what she wanted to.

It's a very strange thing to watch when you pay attention to her hand, it almost seems

unnatural and it's not under her control.

And if fact, when going back over other episodes, there are quite a few other times where Pearl

has done almost the same thing!

Now of course nobody really noticed this until now because it seemed a lot more forced this

time around.

But I think there could still definitely be something there, and I want to find out what

that is.

So this is what I want to talk about today- every time Pearl has been witnessed silencing

herself.

This will vary from her just putting her hand over her mouth when something bad happens,

to her literally preventing herself from speaking like we saw in Gemcation.

There may be a connection to this action she sometimes does to something more important

in the overall story.

Now I know pretty much every channel that talks about Steven Universe has already made

some sort of video regarding this, but I thought I would try and give it my own spin as well

as my personal thoughts.

So let's start!

The first few might not have any significance but as we go in further in the list, some

patterns do appear.

First off we have Laser Light Cannon.

Honestly almost anything in the beginning of season 1 I feel a bit iffy about calling

it intentional, but the crew is known for planting in things way before they have been

mentioned, so I am not going to put it past them.

Lar's death and resurrection was actually one of the first things planned for the show,

which is pretty crazy.

In this instance, Pearl covers her mouth quite a bit after the cannon is fired.

Even looking at it now it's a bit different looking than the others, but I decided to

leave this one in anyways.

Next is Mirror Gem, which occurs midway through the first season.

We see that Pearl and the rest of the crystal gems are shocked to learn that the mirror

has a mind of its own.

At this point, it appears that Pearl covering her mouth is just a reaction to something

surprising happening.

Quite a bit later into the first season is Rose's Scabbard, which is definitely a big

one on the list.

In one of the most emotional scenes in the series thus far, Steven approaches a distraught

Pearl who is covering a good portion of her face with her hands.

Pearl misses Rose, and is most likely feeling overwhelmed with everything that she just

learned about her former leader.

Rose had secrets not even Pearl knew, potentially causing Pearl to rethink many aspects of her

life.

But when it comes to Pearl covering her mouth, it has to do with a secret regarding her past

that she does know.

So this instance doesn't quite fit with our conclusion, but it showing up at an intense

moment does make sense.

Then there is, It Could've Been Great in season 2.

Peridot shows the Crystal Gems all the plans Homeworld had for earth to take all its resources

and leave it at a husk of its former self, devoid of all life.

This shocks everyone, especially since at this point Peridot does seem a bit excited

still about what the Diamonds had planned to do.

This is the first time Pearl's gesture has a direct correlation to learning information

about the Diamond Authority.

Jumping quite a bit into season 3 is crack the whip, where Pearl forgets she had sword

practice with Connie.

This one definitely has nothing to do with Homeworld or the Diamonds, but didn't want

to leave it out.

Next is towards the very end of season 3, Back to the Moon.

This is the episode where most people believe where Pearl covering her mouth because she

can't say something actually means something.

After Eyeball starts explaining what happened to Pink Diamond and how Rose Quartz had something

to do with it, we get the reveal that Rose Quartz shattered Pink Diamond.

Pearl then turns around in fear and covers her mouth.

When this episode aired I remember a few thinking that Pearl in fact did this, and while it

is still technically possible for that to be the case, Pearl reacting in this way may

have been more of more of a reflex than her indicating she was actually the one to shatter

PD.

And now onto season 4, we have Steven's Dream.

Steven wants the CG's to explain why there is a pallanquin in Buddy's book.

He begins to guess it has to with PD, which immediately gets a reaction from Pearl.

Even Garnet realizes Pearl has become upset.

Pearl is still covering her mouth when Garnet says how Rose never wanted Steven to see where

PD was shattered.

This is when Steven is finally fed up with not getting answers, but it seems when it

comes to PD, Pearl is the last one to start talking.

Now we are going to our final moment in the series, besides the one in season 5 of course,

where Pearl covers her mouth.

And this is when Steven voluntarily leaves for Homeworld since he claims to be Rose Quartz.

Everyone is shocked, and Pearl is speechless.

While that was the final instance besides the one in Gemcation in the actual show, there

are a few other things I'd like to talk about.

There was this poster by Entertainment Weekly for SDCC, showing the crystal Gems and BD

and YD.

We do have representations for the other two diamonds however, with PD's be represented

by a flower on the bottom of the poster.

And this poster, which just so happens to have some form of all the diamonds on it also

happens to have Pearl covering her mouth.

I don't think it's a coincidence.

Finally, which is probably the most obscure instance on this list, is from a Steven Universe

zine given out to fans at a convention.

If you look closely at the artwork on the back you can spot an image of Pearl staring

at her hands.

It appears as if she is beginning to cry while looking at them, almost like they did something

she can't believe.

Which may lead back to the conclusion of her actually shattering PD but im not sure I believe

that yet.

Ok I was lying about going in order, I actually missed one.

The most important one of all.

That is the time Pearl covers her mouth in Say Uncle.

Obviously, this means *record scratch* Haha just kidding!

But with that, all the most notable times that Pearl has covered her mouth have been

noted.

Now we need to ask- what do many of these moments have in common?

Well, Rose Quartz and the Diamonds, more specifically PD and her shattering.

My guess, as with many others, is that Pearl, being a made to order servant, was created

as a gem that is unable to talk about huge secrets regarding the diamonds.

This would be a measure the diamonds put in place to make sure that their servants could

not betray them by leaking out such sensitive information.

I have seen some say that it would be a power of White Diamond that could alter a gem in

this manner, and since we don't know WD's powers yet this is a possibility.

Perhaps her covering her mouth has become a natural reaction over time, as it is what

she does in very emotional situations that have nothing to do with the diamonds.

This would lead to the least climatic conclusion in my opinion, but it is perhaps the most

logical one after considering all that Pearl has been through.

But whatever the case, part of Pearl is fighting back against her telling what really happened.

Now I have to then wonder, is this something unique to our Pearl?

It might not be, although we have only seen two other Pearls, there is some interesting

symbolism between the three of them.

As mentioned many times in this video, Pearl covers her mouth, but what about the other

two?

Well, Blue Pearl's eyes are covered, and while no gems actually have ears, Yellow Pearl doesn't

have much on the side of her head.

This is definitely a stretch but there is a saying that goes, "See no evil, hear no

evil, speak no evil".

This could work for each one of the Pearls.

As our Pearl is not allowed to speak of what happened to Pink Diamond, while Blue Pearl

is oblivious of all that is going on because her vision is skewed, and finally yellow pearl

will not listen to any ridicule of the diamonds and thinks of them as perfect beings.

So, in some ways this could be seen as each Pearl having a fault.

Well we do know our Pearl is different than most in many other ways, this one does stand

out at the moment.

Maybe one day all of the Pearls that were owned by the diamonds will work together and

become more than just servants.

So that wraps up my analysis video for today, but as promised at the beginning of the video,

I am going to talk about the app Fuzzpix!

Can you guess who this is?

I'll give you a few seconds.

Okay, as any Steven Universe fan should know, this is Opal!

This was an example of a game on Fuzzpix, a new app that definitely reminds me of words

with friends, but with pictures.

If you love playing games with your close friends, then Fuzzpix is a great way to challenge

others to test your quick-thinking skills.

Let's go through the quick process of making a game.

Choose your difficulty, the optional prize, the number of rounds, and your filter.

For this one I'm going to choose the advanced filter, the Giraffe one.

These ones are cool since they function a bit differently than the normal filters.

Moving on, we can choose the pictures, and give each one a hint, an answer, and an alternate

answer.

I am going to put in some Steven Universe pictures of course.

The possibilities are truly endless.

Finally, you can add players to the game from your friends list or you can add a new contact

from their phone number!

Then you wait in suspense as all of your friends face each other to see who the best guesser

is.

Fuzzpix gives them 36 hours to play each game, and once the game is finished one person will

emerge as the winner.

You can view how each game went for the winner and where they won.

There's a lot of cool features that can be purchased, like the animal filters or the

hard mode.

Fuzzpix can be downloaded for iPhone and Android devices.

Have fun playing!

And thanks for checking out this video.

If you liked this one, feel free to subscribe and check out our other Steven Universe analysis

videos.

I have another SU video coming out tomorrow, so stay tuned for that.

Thanks for watching!

20 Interesting Facts About Gran Turismo - Duration: 14:58.

Gran Turismo has seen a release on every single PlayStation format barring the PS Vita, with

GT Sport hitting PS4 recently at the time of writing.

Reading.

Speaking.

Whatever time this is.

Almost every PlayStation has a GT in its top two best-selling games of all time, and the

only two that don't are the Vita, which never had a GT, and the PS4, which at the

time of making this has GT Sport with sales figures I do not know.

Still, it's safe to say this is an unpopular and terrible series nah I'm just kidding

it's great.

And now here's 20 things you may not know about Gran Turismo, and if you do maybe you

just want to hear them again who knows.

Number one, those sales figures

Might as well start by filling you in on what I was bleating on about a second ago - the

original Gran Turismo is the highest-selling PSone game of all time with 10.85 million

copies shifted, Gran Turismo 3 is the PS2's second top selling game ever with 14.89 million

copies shunted, and Gran Turismo 5 made it to second place in the PS3's highest sales

for games with 11.94 million copies shun-ifted.

The PSP's Gran Turismo, meanwhile, sold 4.66 million copies and was the underrated

handheld's second place seller.

Not what you would call a bad run for the series.

BONUS FACT

On average, including the Prologue spin-offs, Gran Turismo sells 6.4 million per game.

That's more than the averages - per game - for the Zelda series (4.14 million per game),

the Uncharted series (5.24 million per game), the Halo series (5 million per game), Assassin's

Creed (5.55 million per game), and almost as much as the Need For Speed series, which

averages at 6.81 million sales per game.

All of these figures come from before the last release for each game mentioned, because

getting up to date sales figures is like pulling teeth from a rock.

Still it's no wonder Sony puts so much stock in the bloody thing.

Number two, not a one-game studio

Polyphony Digital is known as the Gran Turismo studio, likely because it has made about 32

thousand different versions of V Rally.

Gran Turismo.

Whatever it's called.

But it is not a one-game studio, with a whopping four other games flooding like a literal flood

from its doors.

Motor Toon Grand Prix and its sequel, Omega Boost and Tourist Trophy.

Yes, three of them are racing games, but hey - a giant robot thing!

That's branching out if ever I've seen it.

BONUS FACT

For all the resolution fans out there, Tourist Trophy shares the distinction of being one

of only four titles for the PS2 capable of 1080i output.

The others are Gran Turismo 4, Valkyrie Profile 2 and… err…

Jackass: The Game.

Number three, the prototype… sort of

The earliest version of Gran Turismo is said to have been in the works for the Nintendo

PlayStation, but I couldn't corroborate anything about that so will just ignore that

and leave it as a statement uttered by a buffoon.

However, those playing Motor Toon Grand Prix 2 were privy to Polyphony's ambitions for

the racing genre - at least if they completed the game on expert.

Those doing so were rewarded with the 'goodie' of Motor Toon Gran Prix R; a mode of the game

that replaced the bouncy Mario Kart-alike racers with realistic vehicles and realistic

physics.

Naturally I wasn't good enough to complete the game on expert, even though I have it,

so this footage isn't mine.

Sorry.

NO BONUS FACT

Number four, boys' club

Kazunori Yamauchi revealed at Gran Turismo 4's launch party back in 2004 that he and

his team were working on a new entry to the series: Gran Turismo For Boys.

Aimed squarely at children - well, male children, apparently, Yamauchi intended the project

to create car lovers from a young age, stating: "If we don't grow to love cars in youth, we

become adults who are uninterested in cars."

And apparently girls and women can't be interested in cars, or something?

Anyway, it never came out and, instead, morphed into Gran Turismo on PSP.

Sort of.

Girls were allowed to play it, as far as I'm aware.

BONUS FACT

Gran Turismo received the Golden Marker Special Award at the Japan Car Design Awards in 2016,

and I quote, "For being an instrument about learning how to drive a car for those who

are below the legal driving age and for learning about cars in general", and "For giving

opportunities to car designers around the world while broadening the vision of the market".

So it seems Yamauchi didn't even need his sexist Gran Turismo spin-off, huzzah!

Number five, dee oh double-gee

For Gran Turismo 3, Snoop Dogg penned the track Dogg's Turismo 3 for the game.

It is, as you would expect, utterly superb in all the wrong ways.

And I quote:

"It's all about winning y'all know whats up

PlayStation 2 taking you to a whole new dimension where the cars look fly and they got good

suspension"

"I take the lead while others crash the wall

Doggy D-O-double G in the motherfucking Gran Turismo 3

the coolest game doin' things, I'm picking up speed while I'm switching

lanes"

"If I lose I'm gon' turn it off and get right back

choose a whole 'nother car a whole new course

with tunnels and trees."

Sure Feeder's Just A Day may have become popular thanks to GT3 - though it also may

not have - but it's all about Dogg's Turismo 3; gaming's greatest song.

NO BONUS FACT

Number six, PRICEMOBILE

The single most expensive real vehicle ever featured in the Gran Turismo series is…

the Honda Accord!

Wait no, the moon buggy.

Yes, Lunar Roving Vehicle LRV-001 from Gran Turismo 6 cost 38 million dollars to build

back in the early 70s.

Adjust that for inflation - because that's what you should do - and you get a fairly

princely sum of 228 million, 750 thousand dollars.

Stick that up your Bugatti.

NO BONUS FACT

Number seven, accu-race-ey ha ha ha ha haaa

The number of polygons in a car in the original gran turismo was 500.

By the time gran turismo 6 released in 2013, that number had increased to one people still

pretended to care about.

For the original Gran Turismo, one car was one day's work for one person.

For GT3, one car was one person's work for 30 days.

When GT5 rolled about, one car was one person's work for 180 days, or six months if you want

to be informal.

Gran Turismo Sport also took the devs six months per car, but while GT6 featured 1,197

cars at launch, GT Sport has 162 - so a lot more work has gone into each vehicle.

That man who done Gran Turismo, Kazunori Yamauchi, said: "We are building for future versions

of the console, not the one we see today."

So, like, we'll be seeing these models re-used in the PlayStation 9 I guess?

BONUS FACT

Gran Turismo 6 featured accurately positioned stars in the night sky, for some reason.

I have no idea if GT Sport keeps up the tradition.

Number eight, Name Recognition

Gran Turismo has model car kits, concept cars - a lot of which can't actually be built

yet because technology isn't good enough - a cafe, and even a street in Australia named

after it.

That's Gran Turismo Drive in Bathurst… at the Mount Panorama Motor Racing Circuit,

so not exactly an unexpected naming there.

Meanwhile, Kazunori Yamauchi doesn't have cars and concepts and cafes named after him

right now, so he just has to settle for a street of his own in the town of Ronda, Spain.

Look out for Paseo de Kazunori Yamauchi if you're ever around there.

BONUS FACT

Speaking of name recognition - you can spot a mention of Konami on the 1990s version of

Fuji Speedway on Gran Turismo 4.

Obviously it has to be in the past, because the only mention of Konami you get these days

is a sentence starting with the company name and ending with 'is a bit of a shitter these

days, innit?'

Number nine, This Game Ain't For You

The GT series often gets a bit of stick, especially from the non-believers and those who pretend

Forza is a better franchise, for being a little bit, shall we say, nerdy.

There's a real air about the games that they're almost embarrassed to be video games

and instead should just be left alone as car porn for those obsessed with gaskets.

Well, there's a bit of truth to that - see, Yamauchi himself has said he never intended

Gran Turismo to enjoy mass appeal, with the first game intended, initially, only for petrolheads,

or dieselarses or whatever they're called.

It wasn't until Taku Imasaki, now long-time producer on the series, then just producer

on the first game as none of the others existed, got his hands on GT that things changed.

Sensing the ever-belittled US audience wouldn't get on with the game as it stood, he was instrumental

in the decisions to up the speed of the game by some 25 per cent and altering the in-game

gravity so you would get cars leaping higher and further than they should.

He also had a big hand in introducing arcade mode to the game, as he figured Americans

wouldn't be into the role-playing ladder climb of Gran Turismo's core mode.

I mean, he was wrong, but it's pretty funny just how patronising that is.

And now?

Well, now we have GT Academy, in which people who are really good at the game have a chance

to become an actual, real racing driver.

People who probably didn't think they were that into cars - at least not as much as Yamauchi

expected players of his game to be - are now professionals.

Fun times.

BONUS FACT

Gran Turismo 2 could only be completed to 98.2% in US release as drag racing was removed.

The European release, meanwhile, could be completed to 100.9% thanks to the addition

of Vauxhall and Opel manufacturer races, which were absent in any other version.

GT4 had a similar issue, meanwhile, with the US and Chinese releases sometimes only allowing

99.8% completion.

Number ten, Word of Mouth

Never underestimate the power of telling people about stuff - on a totally unrelated note

don't forget to share this video and tell all your friends about the healing power of

Bransfield!

Anyway, Gran Turismo has been cited by some Japanese car manufacturers as a reason for

increased popularity in certain models they produce, with the likes of Nissan, Subaru

and Mitsubishi all declaring the game directly responsible for an uptick in interest.

Mitsubishi chap Takashi Kiuchi said, back in 2002, "There's no doubt that Gran Turismo

played a huge role in our decision to launch the Lancer Evolution in the United States

- the car wouldn't have attracted as much attention as it has in the US without the

game."

Outside of Japan there's a similar picture - RUF, the brand known for modifying and releasing

its own versions of Porsche's lineup, wouldn't have been half as well known as it is were

it not for its inclusion in earlier Gran Turismo titles.

Those being the ones where Polyphony couldn't get the actual Porsche license, because EA

was doing its usual thing of just having all the licenses for everything ever.

Even here in Britain things were impacted, with the first GT game seeing TVR's sales

increase six-fold after its release.

I mean, correlation isn't causation and all that, but the Cerbera was a lovely little

car in that game, so...

BONUS FACT You can actually find a model of Porsche in

Gran Turismo 3, as the 911 996 GT3 was intended to be in the game until EA signed its exclusive

Porsche license and the horseless carriage had to be removed.

Its data is still present, though, and you can unlock it with some pokery and an Action

Replay or Gameshark.

Or if you download a save like I may or may not have done.

Number eleven, CONTROVERSY

Gran Turismo isn't a series that courts controversy.

Much as I love it, it's barely a series that courts anything beyond mild surprise.

While microtransactions in GT6 put some people off, complaints were limited - but Gran Turismo

Sport nudged things into outright outrage territory by requiring players to be online

whether they were playing the game in multiplayer or not.

What you might not have picked up on is the why behind all of this - now don't get me

wrong, I don't want to be an apologist for always-online, as I'm not big on multiplayer

anyway and I don't just listen to what's said and automatically go 'oh right that's

a good reason god I love these faceless company decisions!'

But I do pay attention to reasons when they're actually interesting - Gran Turismo Sport

requires you to be always online because of the motor sport governing body the FIA.

GT Sport includes FIA-endorsed online championships, you see, so the game itself has to actually

follow very strict rules and regulations for it to be taken seriously by the governing

body.

And I quote: "In order to ensure fair racing for all, GT Sport will require an internet

connection for the majority of functionality.

This connectivity requirement is to ensure that progress car availability and driver

ratings are properly maintained at all times."

Basically, it's so you can't be a scamming little cheater and cheese your way to victory

offline, before loading your times up into the online mode.

Why this applies to modes that don't link in with the FIA competition, though, I do

not know.

BONUS FACT

I didn't believe this one, so sourced an original copy of Gran Turismo 2 to check it

out and, yep, it's true.

The GT Mode disc has a scratch and sniff effect to it - if you give it a bit of a rub, it

lets off a scent of… well, it's a bit like asphalt and tires, basically.

Fifa 2001 had a similar effect, with a grassy disc smell.

Ah, the past.

Number twelve, Try Before You Buy

The accuracy of Gran Turismo's simulation has always been a big selling point, but it's

quite clearly more than just marketing gumph.

I mean, the real world ties to racing events, racing drivers and car designs just sings

that fact happily.

And I'm sure BMW was overjoyed to discover it could get away with a much cheaper, easier

way of letting potential 1 Series customers have a test drive: handing out a specially-made

Gran Turismo 4 demo disc.

The BMW 1-series Virtual Drive Disc, as it was known, allowed potential buyers to choose

from two cars, the 120Dse and the 120i, and race on three tracks, including the Nurdburg..

Nurenb..

Nerd Burger King.. whatever that famous one is called.

All with a three-minute time limit on each track.

I sincerely doubt anybody actually bought a car based on a Gran Turismo 4 demo - please

do correct me if I'm wrong there - but it was a cool little thing to happen all the

same.

NO BONUS FACT

/

And that, friends, is a big list of facts.

I know there's plenty more - it's a 20-year-old series, I was bound to miss more than I could

ever fit in.

But wasn't that interesting?

I think it was.

You should agree.

If you don't, that's fine, but also I've conned you into watching this for however

long this video lasts.

HAH.

Gran Turismo is cool because it's so nerdy, gotta love that series.

Thanks for watching, do like, share and subscribe if you want to because it's a nice thing

to do and it helps me bring in money on this horrible oversaturated platform so I can slowly

save up for a TVR Speed 12.

I deserve that, don't I?

I mean, I can't even drive so it's a little bit pointless but then you can't expect

me not to-BYE!

I now have a Patreon, which you can find the link to in the description.

If you like my work and you've got a bit of change spare, consider chipping in.

If you can't or don't want to, that's also fine.

I still love you.

I'd like to give a big ol' thanks to the following folks for their five dollar or more

support on Patreon - without you, I'd be dead!

Alright maybe not dead, but you get the point.

Videobrains - or Jake Tucker

Robbie Sabo

Lola Osman - WOOF

You're all good people, except for the one who's a dog.

You're a good dog.

Thank you for your continued support and I hope to never make you cry.
