At Nightfly's we have about 300 different whisk(e)ys from around the globe.
From Scottland, the United States, Japan, New Zealand, Ireland, ...
...all of them are great to drink them pure either on-the-rocks or straight up
Some of them are an excellent ingredient for classic cocktails as well. Today we want to introduce you one of this cocktails ...
...the Old Fashioned, which is usally prepared with a Bourbon.
As an interesting variation you can choose another whisk(e)y type for mixing an Old Fashioned - and that's what we are going to do...
...we will take a Talisker from Isle of Sky.
First we need a precooled glass.
We put a sugar cube into the glass.
Add 2 to 3 drops of Angostura Bitters...
...and some soda to help the sugar dissolve.
Now we crush the sugar cube so that it's going to blend with the Angostura-soda mix.
This can take a little time.
Then we add our whisky...
...7, 8 cl for good friends.
Then we stirr it till its all one homogeneous liquid.
When the sugar completely dissolved we add some ice cubes.
And stirr again to get the mix cooled.
As decoration we add a slice of lemon...
...a slice of orange...
...and a cherry.

Korean gov't to promote software industry and tackle growing gambling industry - Duration: 2:29.
As part of the government's goal of building a creative economy, it plans to improve training
for young people to go into the software industry,... a key sector for the so-called Fourth Industrial
Revolution.
Another issue addressed by Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon today was gambling.
He stressed the importance of the government getting a hold on betting in sports and other
areas... which he thinks is becoming a serious social problem.
Our Ji Myung-kil has more.
Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon on Thursday... said it was necessary to provide the right
job training and education to foster job creation in the software sector.
(Korean) "It is important for the government to create
an environment for the younger generation where they can experiment using their imagination
and creativity, which is key to the success of the software industry."
He also said jobs like industrial software programmers, games programmers, and data analysts
will serve as new career opportunities for younger people.
According to Korea's Software Policy and Research Institute,... the country's software industry
reached nearly 4-billion U.S. dollars this year and is growing by 1-hundred-million dollars
every year.
Therefore, the government also plans to construct models to predict how the Fourth Industrial
Revolution would affect software jobs in the future.
Prime Minister Lee also noted the alarming growth rate of gambling and other adult entertainment
businesses.
(Korean) "Korea's gambling industry is showing signs
of overheating.
The industry is expanding 6-point-3 percent every year."
He said it was important to eradicate corruption, especially in sports gambling,... referring
to match-fixing scandals which have struck professional sports players in recent years,...
and called for greater attention from law enforcement authorities.
(Stand-up) "According to the prime minister's office,...
Korea's gambling and lottery industry has grown by more than 18-billion dollars for
two consecutive years,... with gambling addiction reaching over 5-percent, which is over two
times higher than the OECD average of around 2-percent."
Therefore, the government plans to strengthen monitoring of casinos, horse racing, traditional
bull fighting, and lotteries, and promote socially responsible practices.

the Republican majority in the Senate to 51 to 49, …and putting a potential dent into
Trump's legislative plans.
President Trump told reporters at the White House that although he would have liked Moore
to win, he doesn't think the loss will affect his administration's agenda.

Muslim nations are reacting to President Trump's decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital
of Israel.
Dozens of countries are urging the world to reject that decision and to recognize East
Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine.

The leaders of 57 Muslim nations, otherwise known as the Organization of Islamic Cooperation,
have declared East Jerusalem as the Palestinian capital, calling on the international community
to follow in its footsteps.
Wednesday's summit was hosted by Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan, who has criticized the U.S.
for its stance on Jerusalem.

of the state of Palestine and will remain as such.
I invite other countries to recognize Jerusalem as the occupied capital of the state of Palestine."
The OIC added that Trump's "dangerous declaration" to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas accused the U.S. of being biased in favor of Israel,
saying it no longer had any role to play in the peace process.

Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he was "not impressed" by the OIC's statement.
He added that the Palestinians would do better by recognising reality and acting in favour
of peace and not extremism.
He also went on to say that other countries will follow the U.S. and move their embassies
to Jerusalem.
The city is home to key religious sites sacred to Judaism, Islam and Christianity, especially
in East Jerusalem.
Israel regards the entire city as its capital, a stance not taken by the international community,
until recently.
But Palestine claims East Jerusalem as the capital of a future state, and that its final
status should be discussed in the latter stages of peace talks.

Hey everybody. It's Maria Cristina, one of the contributing editors over at book riot.
And today I wanted to share with you the best tag sale, garage sale, yard sale-type
book purchase I ever made. It was an amazing score for me.
Nothing like a rare book valued at four years of an Ivy League college kind of a
find. It was just something that I was so tickled to find and I got it for nothing.
And that's this Edward Eager box set. It was great. I was just walking around and
came across this tag sale. There were a ton of books out there.
It was winding down so they just said, "hey, five bucks for whatever you can fit
in a bag." And so I got lots of awesome things and one of those things was
this box set. And it was like being reunited with an old friend because I remember
reading these books when I was little, little, little. We moved when I was 10 and I
have really vivid memories of reading half magic in the bedroom I lived in up
until then. So, so I, it just made that big of an impression on me. I know I read
it before I was 10 because I can see myself in in that bedroom just lost in
this book. And even though I know that these books are always going to be
available to me in some way, shape or form -- I can check them out from the
library. It's not as if they're out of print. I'll be able to find them
and reread them whenever I want to. It was not anything I could walk away from,
this boxset. It was, it was something that I just
knew I needed to own because we had encountered each other in this
serendipitous way and brought back lots of really great memories. And even though
my kid is nowhere near old enough to appreciate these herself, and who knows.
It might not even be something that she would want to read. She may be into some
other type of genre, low fantasy might not be her cup of tea. That's cool.
You know, she can still live under my roof. But I, I just, I just thought I needed them.
And price was right. So these books now live with me and I have already reread some
of them. And, and I'm going to continue to because they makes me so happy.
Someday I need to have a discussion about Edward Eagers magic tales because good stuff.
So I'm curious. I want to know what your story of finding a book and knowing you
just have to take it home with you. Whether it's a book completely new to
you or a book that has re-entered your life after an extended absence. How did
you know that that those books were for you? That they were waiting there just
biding their time until you could take them home put them on shelf? What got you
excited to find and know that this was yours?
It just didn't know it yet. Anyway, um I'm all giddy and loopy because, because I've,
I've been spending all day, re-reading some of these too. So I have nothing else
to say except you should should check these out.

Hello, I'm Michelle Park here with the weather update.
We have passed the worst of the cold spell with lots of areas, including the capital,
relieved from the cold wave advisory.
Although some regions, such as northern Gyeonggi-do and Chungcheong-do provinces, are still under
cold weather advisories,... by tomorrow morning they should all be lifted, with temperatures
about five degrees warmer than today.
Tomorrow morning, Seoul will wake up to minus 6 degrees Celsius, while Daegu and Busan begin
at minus 4 degrees and 3 degrees.
During the day, the temperatures are expected to recover, with Seoul rising up to 3 degrees,
while Gwangju and Busan reach 6 and 10 degrees.
However, it will get cloudier as the day goes on, bringing snow in the evening.
There won't be much snow,... with between 1 and 3 centimeters expected.
Tomorrow's snow will continue through Saturday,... and on Sunday, freezing temperatures will
visit us once again.

I'm very happy because basically it is my birthday.
Well not today.

But it is coming up soon.
It two days it is my birthday and you asked me a couple of weeks ago what do you want
for your birthday?
So I realized we were going to be in Zagreb so I was like researching some things.
Hmmm.
Should I go out for a nice dinner?
Should I have something else?
But then I realized they have a hockey team.
Oh my gosh.
Yeah.
And you know how much I like ice hockey.
Like being a Canadian and being away from Canada that is one of the things I miss the
most.
Aside from family and friends is actually going to live hockey games.
So when I found out they had a team here I was like that is my birthday present.
So we are going to watch a Medveščak Zagreb game.
And they used to be in Kontinental Hockey League but now they've switched back to the
Austrian League so they're playing Vienna tonight.
Oh and we're going to go checkout that game and show you the whole experience.
So we're going to grab a bite to eat and then yeah then we're going to probably take some
public transport to get there.
Alright, let's do this.

So yeah within my budget.

And so like that is I think like five US dollars or something total.
So reasonably priced and yeah let's go watch some hockey.

So the first period is over and the action was really good.
Lots of back and forth.
Actually it looked like Vienna was going to score first but then we rallied and we ended
up scoring late in the period.
So guess what we're up one nothing.
That is awesome.

Second break.
People are really angry.
Not second break.
End of the second period.
Alright.
Anyways, it was an awesome second period for us because we scored two goals and now we're
up 3 to 1.

So that wraps up our hockey experience here in Zagreb, Croatia.

It was an awesome birthday present.
That was such great entertainment.
Like I had so much fun.
And it was so cool that the home team won.

We didn't just win by like a goal or two.
We ended up beating them 4-1.
And the crowd really got into it.
At the very end of the game all the players came out and had like salutes and cheers.
And it was just like the entertainment value was insane.
Yeah, that was surprising.
Like normally people are rushing to get out and beat the crowds.
It was like they won the championship or something.
That is cool I mean it really got the fans into it and it was just such a good experience.
So yeah, if you're visiting Zagreb and you can come to one of these games.
I highly highly recommend it.
I'd go to another one for sure.

Seeing the lights of a police car flashing in your rearview mirror can send your stomach
plummeting to your toes.
Getting pulled over and receiving a ticket or even a citation for a traffic violation
can make anyone anxious.
As unpleasant as receiving a ticket is, officers are just doing their jobs to maintain order
and keep the peace.
I'm sure they dislike writing tickets, but doing so is part of the job.
But what if you were pulled over and you knew you made a mistake, but instead of a ticket,
the officer had a gift for you?
Folks who were pulled over in Laredo, Texas, recently experienced this very thing.
In collaboration with Operation Peacemaker, a local nonprofit comprised of police officers,
and an anonymous local business, the Laredo PD came up with the wonderful idea to distribute
turkeys for the holiday season rather than traffic tickets.
Police officers pulled folks over for legitimate traffic stops, but instead of writing tickets,
they gave the drivers a warning and something else unexpected – a holiday turkey.
"Humanity in the performance of one's duty as an officer is first [and] foremost,"
Chief Claudio Treviño explained.
"The officers came up with the idea, and that commitment to the betterment and service
to our community is what makes me proudest to be the head of such a dedicated and compassionate
group of officers."
Officers handed out a total of 25 turkeys in one day.
The responses of the recipients were recorded on the officers' body cameras and, as you
can see, the drivers were both shocked and delighted to be handed this kind gift.
Police officers don't always get recognition for their generous actions or good deeds.
It's great to see officers making the news for handing out these Thanksgiving birds for
families to enjoy.

So our first experiment is going to be in the kitchen
And Noor is here with us to help us
Noor: I'm Noor, how are you?
Noor is going to teach us how to make pita bread
And how to make humous
And how to make ka'ak bread
Of course, I've never made bread before
But Noor is really good at cooking
so hopefully we get it right
Firstly you need oil
Second of all, sesame seeds
What's this?
Molasses
Yeast
Salt
Sugar
Water
a spoon
smaller spoons
a mixing bowl
Flour
Add the flour
How much?
Two cups of flour
a teaspoon and a half of yeast
Let me do it
Noor is going to film me
A table spoon and a half of oil
Is this normal salt?
Is that okay?
Half a teaspoon of salt
What's next?
A teaspoon and a half of sugar
Half a cup of milk
Half of the cup is milk
And then you fill it with water but not to the end
Leave a little gap
We add a bit and then we stir
Like that?
Noor: Yes
You have to slowly add the milk and water
By the way don't forget to wash your hands

My arm is already tired

We have to knead it until it doesn't stick to our hands

But she makes it all the time, it's my first time, okay?
Now, Noor is going to make my sister some Indomie
Because she's hungry
Then we're going to leave the dough for 15 minutes

It really hurts, I swear

Noor: now I'm making the dough
Noor: like a blender
Noor: That's it
Okay, this is our second dough for the pita bread
We're going to leave it for 5 minutes
Okay, how are we going to make the humous?
What do we need?
Firstly...
Okay, we have the chickpeas
Tahini
Olive oil
A small clove of garlic
More sesame seeds
And this is the blender
We're going to put everything in here
And attach it to the blender
Now Noor is going to teach me how to make humous
How do we start?
Noor: add the chickpeas in first
We open the can of chickpeas
Take them out with a spoon
And leave the water in the can
I love the smell of chickpeas
Noor, what's your favourite thing to make?
Noor: baking bread every day
So it's fresh
We've added all the chickpeas to the cup
Add the garlic
All of it?
We're going to add all these sesame seeds
It's going to spill
Yay
Okay, a tablespoon of sugar
A teaspoon of salt
Noor: add some olive oil
A teaspoon?
A spoon full of tahini
Add some of the chickpea water to the top
Okay, now we're going to close it
Then we're going to use this blender
The humous is done
Noor: good?
Noor: delicious
It's awesome
Okay, now we're getting the Ka'ak ready for the oven
As you can see, our dough
Has expanded like we wanted
We've added wax paper
On top of an oven tray
So the bread doesn't stick
Noor is going to show me one then I'm going to try
Noor: dip it in the molasses
Noor: and then in here
Noor: and then put it on here
Now I'm going to try
Put some flour on my hands
And then...
It's stuck to my hands
Noor: put your hand in the flour
Noor: just use your hands
I hold it like this so I can dip it?
Noor: put it in the sesame seeds
Noor: you're supposed it hold it
Noor: just do it like this
Okay we've separated the...
We've seperated the ka'ak dough
And added the sesame seeds
Now we're going to add some cheese
This is how we make Ka'ak
We add cheese to the centre rather than leaving a hole
So it comes out tasty
And we can eat it straight away
By the way, we're using feta cheese
Look at all of our spices
What did we take out?
Okay, we've got two bowls of feta cheese
We added za'atar (thyme) to one
We added some olive oil
Now turn on your oven to 200 degrees celcius

Ohhh..
we're pressing on the ka'ak with a glass to make a hole
This is obviously something my dad came up with
It feels really good to press down on the glass
We put it in the oven for 5 minutes
Then when we take it out, we add these bits
Wow
Okay, we had the ka'ak in the oven for 5 minutes
We've taken it out to add on the cheese
10 minutes in the oven?
While we make the pita bread
We're going to roll the dough with this thing
I don't know what it's called in Arabic
Why is mine small?
Noor: roll it with more strength
Noor: a bit more
It's so small, why?
Noor: stronger, there you go
No!
Put it on?
It's hot
Look how it's expanding

The pita bread is done
Okay, now the ka'ak comes out of the oven

Awesome
Okay, now we're plating the humous
Of course, this is the typical arabic plate
Makes you feel like you're eating proper humous
Okay, you've seen us make ka'ak
And pita bread
And humous
Now all that's left is to taste
Noor: really good
The best thing is that it's fresh, we just made it
So it's impossible for it to be dry
Noor: really yummy
Now I'm going to try the ka'ak with cheese
It's so good
