What's cooking guys welcome back to the channel! My name is Jay and today I'm
going to be showing you how to make some peppermint hot cocoa just in time for
the holidays. If you've been with us before welcome back but if you're new
here and want to add that little extra touch to your hot cocoa instead of just
using a packet think about clicking that subscribe button for more recipe videos
and cooking tips. My name is Jay and this is B(R)OIL LA
So even though it's 90 degrees here in LA I'm sure it's a lot nicer where you
are so to get started on our hot cocoa in a small saucepan over medium-low heat
I have one and a half cups of milk and one cup of heavy cream and to that I'm
going to whisk in a quarter cup of cocoa powder along with a quarter cup of
granulated sugar, a teaspoon of peppermint extract, a quarter teaspoon of
vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt.
All right so once everything is well combined and you can start to see some
steam coming up we're going to add in four ounces of dark chocolate chips- it ends
up being about two-thirds of a cup. We never really want to take this up to
boiling we just want to make sure that it's warm and that the chocolate is
melted.
All right so our chocolate chips have melted and our hot cocoa is nice and
smooth so we're going to turn off the heat and then we're going to ladle this into
some super festive coffee mugs, put a giant marshmallow in, and top with a
little bit of crushed candy cane and
that's it! Nothing better on a 90-degree December
day than hot cocoa.
