MOTIVATIONAL SPEECH #3 / TONY ROBBINS QUOTE / DON'T UNDERESTIMATE WHAT YOU CAN GET DONE IN 10 YEARS - Duration: 7:20.

yo yo yo CPA strength here back with another mother freaking video this is

gonna be are you motivated get motivated for Monday what motivates me you know

the haters the love all the views but I was thinking this is gonna be I wanted

to do I'm gonna name drop my Tony Robbins Tony bobbins up in here yeah I'm

gonna put him in the title so I don't cook baby or not but it is Tony Robbins

I'm acting like heck right now but he says you overestimate what you can get

done in a year and underestimate what you can get done in ten years so I

walked into Community College almost 10 years ago this is a Tony Robbins thing I

I I want to kind of counter my fear going outside so that's my that's my

building I've been here for two two and a half years but you know you got to

keep on going forward just a step take it take a step every day you know one of

my favorite quotes is journey of a thousand miles starts with one step and

then what's kind of been in my head lately is this Tony Robbins quote

alright heard it from him says that you are you underestimate what you can get

done in 10 years but you what you overestimate what you can get done in a

year so I'm about 8 months I started in August 2008 I walked in Community

College for the third well I walked into University

our College for the third time I went to university failed out like right after

high school then about when I was 25 were like seven

years later I went to Community College and dropped out of there so I took my

lessons and it is December of 2017 so it's been nine years four months it's

kind of weird because that's what my lease my lease is up here and then I'm

gonna have been at this office this beautiful this beautiful office for

three years when this when this lease is up I mean I've been here for three years

this August coming up this August August of 2018 and so that's gonna be 10 years

and and I'm gonna have something even better than this spot here you know I'm

gonna have something way better than this but in 10 years so 10 years ago I

walked into Community College that was a broken person I didn't really ever tried

anything you know I had nothing no really legal skills I am you know before

I went to college I always just work to manually when I worked I just worked a

manual labor job for eight bucks I would work my wife like

ten bucks an hour so anyway so where I am where I'm going to be in eight more

months you know I'm gonna I'm gonna have a smashing smashing tax season this year

and so yeah I'm gonna have you know my kind of compound I'm gonna have a house

with with a you know a studio and then I can just all whole house hopefully

hopefully I'll have that that place that I was doing from the garage hopefully

that I'll be mine the whole house come next August it just seems like from

where I was in ten years you know just because I always kept going you know

year year by year so just start you know you'll be amazed

cuz year by year seemed like I wasn't getting anywhere you know one year yes I

graduated community college got my a that was nice but I still did three more

years so I did four years of university you know of college four years so it's

like that second you know what were you over asked me what you can do is it

feels like I felt like I should have been making money but I wasn't you know

it took a while so the thing is you know don't get discouraged if you don't seem

like you're going anywhere you can definitely go you know if you just keep

on putting up one foot in front of the other so year to year I didn't really do

that great of that biggest stuff it's it's you know you want to do more but in

ten years ten years time I'm gonna do a ten years you know August of next year

when I'm in my new place because I'm not renewing this Leif's I feel like three

years it's time to move on so the ten years is gonna be amazing from where I

went you know to where just because I kept

going just like putting a foot one foot in front of the other for ten years it's

amazing where you can go and and you do not have to be perfect in those ten

years like a professional a professional career life college and a professional

career life like accounting and stuff and I guess this YouTube too because I'm

making money at it but I didn't start ten years ago but I did start learning

accounting you know I wasn't perfect I mean for the first five years of my ten

years I was still partying I mean some semesters I would drop a couple classes

but I went all year round so this is way long enough but the point is just keep

on going just keep on putting one foot in for and the other one foot in front

of the other just keep on going forward you know sometimes you're just gonna

you're gonna keep climb forward and you're gonna go one step up three steps

down and you're like paying I'm telling you just keep climbing because then then

then a time you're gonna make three steps forward and two steps down and

then you're gonna do that a couple times and

you know you don't have to be perfect you just have to keep going so I know

it's not it doesn't seem like you're getting anywhere but it will anyways

this is CPA strength I'm out until tomorrow morning

oh please please like if you made it this far please come in please like

please share please subscribe all that good stuff deuces

zoeyzauyah vlog EP 35 | Making Jjangmyun & Curry Puff - Duration: 7:36.

We gonna eat korean food tonight.

We gonna try halal jjajangmyun

it's sold by muslims in instagram

search by halal jjajangmyun hashtag

and you will find this product.

This is a jjajangmyun paste

and this is a noodle for jjajangmyun.

I can't remember how much it costs

but i think it's under RM50 for both of this products.

These are some of the ingredients to make the sauce.

Here we have carrots and holland onions,

capsicum and on the left is garlic and ginger.

This is chicken meat and jjajangmyun paste

that we will cook later.

It's not us actually but only my sister who will cook this.

The noodels are boiled.

It's done.

It taste like taucu(bean paste).

My sister is the one who said it taste like taucu.

I can't remember the taste of taucu

so i'm not sure how to describe the taste.

It tasted a bit spicy

but since my sister was put capsicum in it

so it has a strong flavor of capsicum.

It tastes okay for me

and now i know how jjajangmyun tastes like

because i usually watch this in Running man shows only.

Let's eat!

Hi..

as usual once a week i will wear a face mask

i've already washed and scrub my face

then squeezing out the blackheads and whiteheads.

Now i'm wearing a face mask

and this time i'm wearing mask from this brand.

Actually my skin was dry and peeling off

in here and there

even when i'm wearing a powder

it will be clearly visible and doesn't want to stick to my skin.

and now my skin it's a bit dry.

This mask is for oily skin

and not suitable for dry skin

but since i feel my pores are dirty

and i'm not used this mask for a long time

so now i used it again.

It's getting dry so it's hard to talk.

This is the function of the mask

pore refining solutions

charcoal mask.

There is function information at the back.

I'm using my fingers to apply my masks

but i only applied a thin layer this time

because i was lazy to wait until it was dry.

if the mask is thick, it will take a long time to dry

that's why i just applied a thin layer only.

Now i'll wait for it to dry

then it can be washed.

Now it's dry and i will remove it using wet cotton

because it's easier to wash with water later.

These are two pieces of cotton

that i used to removed the mask.

now i'm going to wash my face with water.

I used this method so it's easy to wash with water later

otherwise it's difficult to remove and need to be rubbed.

I think this way is much easier.

I've already washed my face

and now i apply the moisturizer

and i like to apply a thick moisturizer.

I've already applied the first layer and this is the second layer.

I used a lots of moisturizer just because my skin is dry and peeling.

It's naturally peeling and not because of the products.

That's why i used a lots of moisturizer so my skin becomes more moist.

I don't like dry skin

i like when my skin is slightly oily

but now i'm getting older

and i realize sometimes my skin becomes dry.

rub again

Okay, it's done.

Bye.

I'm helping my sister to make the curry puff.

I'm not helping her actually but i'm just busybodies only.

Today she made her own curry puff.

Put the dough on the mold.

She made the filling using sweet red potatoes.

Now clipping it.

Why there are flies flying here at this time?

I'm not sure if you(my sister) or mom

who made the curry puff when i was a kid.

I think it was you because our mom has retired from cooking.

Is it cute or not?

*My sister was grinding the dough beside me.

The curry puff is ready to be cooked later.

The curry puff is being cooked and i can eat it later.

My sister curry puff is ready.

Let's eat!

*Noise sound at the background as i'm playing running man shows.

It's hot.

It's delicious.

The filling and dough are all made by my sister.

It tastes so good.

BREAKING: Hillary In MORE Trouble After Trump Issues BOMBSHELL Order To State Dept. - Duration: 3:31.

BREAKING: Hillary In MORE Trouble After Trump Issues BOMBSHELL Order To State Dept.

President Trump seems to be fed up with the unrelenting attacks against him by Hillary

Clinton and the Democrats, so hes systematically exposing their corruption.Earlier this week,

we reported that the President personally ordered the non-disclosure agreement against

an FBI informant be lifted so he could testify to Congress about his knowledge of the Uranium

One deal.

The news rocked Democrat circles, and immediately leftists were on television trying to downplay

the significance of President Trumps actions, with good cause they all know the deal

was made under suspicious terms, at best. But the President didnt stop there.

On Friday, he issued another order thats not going to end well for Hillary he wants

the State Department to stop dragging its feet and release all the emails it has from

the former Secretary of State; the very emails its been hiding to conceal her corrupt

ways.From CNN:

President Donald Trump has made it clear to the State Department that he wants to accelerate

the release of any remaining Hillary Clinton emails in its possession as soon as possible,

according to three sources familiar with the Presidents thinking.

The sources described the Presidents interest in the release of the emails and the testimony

of the FBI informant as rooted in a commitment to transparency, with one source adding

that the law requires cooperation with Congress and the courts.

After the initial publication of this story, one White House official confirmed the President

expressed interest in the release of the Clinton emails, and later in a conversation with

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson learned of the vast backlog of more than 13,000 outstanding

FOIA cases.

Those cases involve not just Clintons emails but a multitude of topics some going back

almost a decade.

Trump then asked Tillerson to work to clear the backlog.

In a memo to State Department employees, Tillerson said that the department will commit more

resources and workforce to address the long queue of requests.

Thats going to leave a mark.

As many are aware, Judicial Watch has been doing Gods work in fighting both the Justice

Department and other administration agencies to get them to release emails and other information

related to the Obama era that could prove corruption.

So naturally, upon hearing the bombshell news from President Trump, Judicial Watchs president,

Tom Fitton, praised the move on Twitter. For those unaware, the State Department currently

has some 76,000 documents related to Hillarys tenure as Secretary, and another 2,800 involving

her top aide, Huma Abedin.

The files werent supposed to be released until 2020, for obvious reasons; however,

with President Trumps latest order, well finally get to the truth of what happened

as she screwed over our nation for profit.

Thanks to the election of President Trump, the house of cards built by Hillary, Bill,

Obama, and the rest of the corrupt Democrats appears to be crumbling around them.

Even the media is starting to express outrage after realizing theyve been lied to, so

maybe, just maybe, well finally get to see these cretins held accountable for their

treasonous actions.

The Most Dangerous Bodies Of Water In The World - Duration: 4:44.

We all need water to survive, but sometimes, you're better off getting as far away as possible

from that tricky H2O.

Venture near any of these bodies of water, and you might pay for it with your life.

Or at the very least, you'll get a nasty rash for awhile.

"Hey?

Is it itchy in here or is it just me?"

Don't jump in, because these are the most dangerous bodies of water in the world.

Rio Tinto

Located in Andalusia, Spain, Rio Tinto is less of a river and more a toxic cocktail

of heavy metal mining byproducts and acid drain-off.

The end result is these technicolor waters that run 62 miles to the Gulf of Cadiz.

But even though the waters are too dangerous for humans, they aren't devoid of life.

Extremophile bacteria, which are bacteria that are capable of living in extreme conditions,

live in Rio Tinto, feeding off the sulfide and iron in the riverbed's rocks.

The presence of these microbes has attracted the attention of scientists, who believe the

river's out-of-this-world conditions are similar to other worlds, like Mars, and Jupiter's

moon, Europa.

Citarum River

Despite being the water supply for about 28 million people, the Citarum River in West

Java, Indonesia is one of the world's most polluted rivers, if not the most polluted.

The river is so screwed up because hundreds of different industries have made a habit

of contaminating this water, dumping in waste from textile manufacturing, garbage, and humans.

"Are you sure this water is sanitary?

It looks questionable to me."

The river feeds into rice paddies, and the water gets collected and boiled for cooking

and drinking.

But the river's outlook isn't completely grim.

In 2011, a 15-year, $4 billion dollar rehabilitation project began to save the river and the people

who depend on it.

Here's to hoping that'll be money well spent.

Boiling Lake

Dominica's Boiling Lake is the hottest hot spring in the world.

Located in a pleasant-sounding area known as the Valley of Desolation, Boiling Lake

reaches temperatures ranging from 180 to 197 degrees Fahrenheit.

And that's just around the edges.

No one has ever gotten close enough to measure the temperatures at the center of the lake.

Getting there makes for a beautiful hike, but you definitely don't want to go swimming.

"Sometimes couples sneak up here for a hot dip."

And some hot nookie?"

Blue Lagoon

The bright blue water in Britain's Blue Lagoon may look inviting, but it actually comes from

the toxic chemicals found in the rocks, which raises the pH of the water to a caustic 11.3.

In other words, taking a dip here is like swimming in bleach.

The water has been dyed black a few times to get people to stay away, but like a scheming

alien fluid, the water always returns to blue, beckoning swimmers into its embrace.

Horseshoe Lake

California is the home of sun, surf, and movie stars… and at least a few poisonous lakes,

like Horseshoe Lake, located in the Mammoth Lakes area of Mono County.

The area around the lake teems with highly concentrated carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide

from local volcanoes, a toxic mix that's wiped out 170 acres of trees—and a few people.

Mono Lake

Also located in California, Mono Lake is one the the US's oldest lakes, and one of its

deadliest.

With no outlet, large amounts of salts have been deposited in the lake, making it almost

three times as salty as the ocean.

While all this salt has resulted in some amazing tufa columns, it has also made the lake super

dangerous for swimmers.

Brine shrimp, flies, and a certain type of algae are the only things that live there.

Of course, the lake isn't always toxic—the toxicity varies depending on the water's depth.

Still, is that a chance you really want to take?

Lake Kivu

This lake in Rwanda isn't dangerous just because of its location—it's deadly because of the

huge methane gas and carbon dioxide deposits trapped beneath the lake.

All it would take is some agitation from something like a volcanic eruption to set off those

gasses.

Since there are plenty volcanoes in the area, Kivu is basically a big watery time bomb.

And this isn't purely hypothetical—similar incidents have occurred in the past.

At Lake Nyos, carbon dioxide released from the lake took out an entire village overnight

in 1986.

"A deadly natural gas has left at least 1,200 people dead."

And methane can explode, even when it's coming out of a lake.

Luckily, plans to extract those gasses are currently underway, and the methane will be

used to generate electricity for Rwanda.

It's a win for everybody.

Lake Karachay

Russia is known for great authors, cold winters, Tetris, and, unfortunately, nuclear disasters.

Now, it's on track to becoming known for radioactive water, thanks in part to Lake Karachay.

Located in the Ural Mountains, the lake was a radioactive dumping ground for years, a

radioactive mix made worse by the Kyshtym containment disaster in 1957.

Simply standing by the lake for about an hour exposes anyone to a lethal dose of radiation,

making this probably the deadliest place on the planet.

It's definitely not the best vacation spot, unless you want that vacation to be your last.

Sugar Doesn't Just Feed Cancer Cells, It Produces Them - Duration: 5:42.

Sugar Doesnt Just Feed Cancer Cells, It Produces Them

by Edward Morgan

Halloween and the holiday season are approaching.

That means lots of candy for some, a lot of desserts, chocolate, and sweets for others.

Though most of us are concerned about our waistlines during this time of year, your

weight should be the least of your worries.

High refined sugar intake has always had a strong correlation to tumor development in

cancer patients, but now there is evidence suggests that a high sugar diet can actually

cause cancer.

How Sugar Feeds Cancer Cells

Cancer cells uptake sugar at 10-12 times the rate of healthy cells.

The Positron Emission Tomography is one of the most accurate tools for measuring cancer

growth.

The 1931 Nobel laureate in medicine, German Otto Warburg developed a hypothesis that cancer

cells have a different energy metabolism compared to healthy cells.

Malignant tumors, according to Warburg, exhibit increased glycolysis in contrast to healthy

human cells.

How Sugar Produces Cancer Cells

The 2013-2014 Journal of Clinic Investigation released the results of an in vitro study

that analyzed the results of increased sugar uptake and oncogenesis (cancer creation).

The results demonstrated that increased glucose uptake had a direct and positive correlation

to the early phases of cancer cell production.

Moreover, a 1985 study on sugar and the risk of large bowel cancer found that patients

with high intakes of sugar.

One of the crucial mechanisms through which cancer is promoted through sugar is through

mitochondrial dysfunction.

Sugar burns very differently than fat does, which generates free radicals.

When free radicals damage the mitochondria of the cell, the nuclear DNA, and cell membrane

are also affected, leading to protein impairment.

Cancer is essentially caused by the replication of genetically mutated cells.

Mitosis is the means through which cells divide and promote tissue growth.

When the process of apoptosis (cell death) begins to break down, cancer occurs.

Obesity and chronic overeating have had a positive correlation and causation to the

growth and development of cancer cells.

According to the Canadian Cancer Society, being obese can cause changes in hormone levels,

such as sex hormones or insulin, which increase the risk of developing breast, colon or uterine

cancer.

But dont give fruit the boot!

The study takes into account the difference between refined sugar and naturally occurring

sugars.

Refined sugars include table sugar and high fructose corn syrup that are absorbed by the

body when consuming processed foods, sodas, and baked desserts, namely added sugar.

Naturally occurring sugars in fruits are deemed less harmful, regardless of their glycemic

index.

were more predisposed to the development of cancer than patients with lower intakes of

sugar.

A prospective study published in 2006 found that high consumption of sugar and high-sugar

foods were linked to a greater risk of pancreatic cancer, and a different study showed similar

results for breast cancer patients.

Dr. Tony Jimenez hypothesizes that sugar from organic produce may not contribute to cancer

cell growth in the same way refined sugars do because human cells absorb left-spinning

molecules, which occur in fruits and vegetables, while cancer cells can only absorb right spinning

particles, which come from refined sugar.

What You Should Do

Sugar has been related to a multitude of health problems, including diabetes, heart disease,

stroke, immobility, elevated triglycerides and high blood pressure.

Cutting out refined sugars from soda and processed foods is a good start to decreasing your risk

of cancer cell growth, as well as those other conditions.

Consume your daily recommended amount of fruits and vegetables.

Ensure you are getting enough fiber, iron, and protein in your diet.

Do not drink fruit juices that have added sugar, and use natural sweeteners such as

honey or stevia, and avoid high-fructose corn syrup and genetically modified sugar or sugar

replacement such as aspartame.

Eat the right amount of sugar: for women, have no more than six teaspoons (25 grams)

of sugar each day, for men, have no more than nine teaspoons per day (37 grams); this equals

to 100 calories for women and 150 for men.

The majority of people in America eat over double that amount, averaging at around 22

teaspoons per day.

Hidden sugars: fructose, lactose, sucrose, maltose, glucose, and dextrose are all forms

of sugar you can find on the Nutritional Facts label on the back of your next meal.

Other natural sugars: Molasses, agave nectar, honey and maple syrup are natural sugars and

contain antioxidants that can protect your body from cancer.

But consume these in moderation, as they contain the same amount of calories as any other kind

of sweetener.

Shipping Container Wooden Door part 1/2 Tiny Shipping Container House Ep 005 - Living Tiny Project - Duration: 13:18.

Hello.

Hello.

In this episode we are gonna talk about this entrance door.

Let's do it.

Well, this actually was supposed to be the first task to do as soon as the containers arrived.

Because we thought we need to open up this door to get inside this part of the container.

But, as soon as we start doing it, we realize that we had actually had some other important things to do.

So, this episode is a little bit confusing in a way because we start shooting and then we did something else,

and then we came back to the door and then we did something else and we came back to the door.

So, that means we've been building this door for over a month now, maybe like 6 weeks already.

So, I guess as we have too much video about it we should divide this in two parts.

So, in this part number one we are gonna talk about the door all the way to the point that you can see now.

That is a metal frame on the container welded already.

And painted.

And painted.

But, in order to weld this metal frame we needed to know exactly the dimension of the door.

So, we actually needed to work on the wooden frame before.

So, I think we can get started.

Well, this was funny. As this was the first time we were doing anything like this before,

we didn't even know which tools to use.

It was like really, really confusing.

I didn't even know how to use the tools.

So, basically I started the wooden frame trying to cut with a

But I realized that I didn't know how to do a straight cut with the circular saw.

So, I gave up and I tried to use a small handsaw, but it was a mess.

I thought it would be easier to go old-school. But I could not cut a straight line.

Then, I gave up and we start doing with the, how you call, the router.

The router was fine. We actually did the job of the router.

But, it was really tricky, to be able to hold without like moving too much.

But, with the help of a chisel we ended up doing it.

So, this door, that we are building here is gonna be around this ladder.

And now that we have this wooden frame done, we were able to measure the steel frames.

Show us the result.

I guess it's good.

Yeah.

So?

It was easier than I though.

Yeah. Good.

I mean...

At least one of the machines.

Yeah. It's slow. You just go slowly. And if you go slow it's not dangerous. So, it's fine.

I guess.

Until now.

We did a good job, right?

Yeah. It seems to be.

Not really.

I mean, this seems to be fine. In the end of this episode you realized that actually the dimensions are not fine.

But, we will fix it. The worst part is that the mistake was a mistake of the mistake.

What I mean by that is that we cut all the pieces for the frame

and then we assembled together outside of the wooden frame.

But we thought the top bar was too short and I thought that:

"Oh! If it's too short the wooden frame won't go inside, won't fit."

So, we cut a second one. And then on the second one we thought:

Oh! Now it looks good. I think fits perfectly."

And then we stopped with this task for like about two weeks,

doing the windows and other things that you're gonna see in future episodes,

and on the day we were supposed to weld, I'm... just to make, sure I was like:

"Let's assemble it together again. All together. So, just to make sure we are welding the right thing."

And once I assembled I saw that: "No. Actually it's too short the top bar."

Weel, after measuring a few times, this part is 2 centimeters short. So, we need to cut an extra one.

But, don't worry it's not waste. We have plenty of windows to use,

and we have window that's almost the same size as this.

So, we're going to just gonna cut a small part in use somewhere else.

And... let's cut an extra one now.

Fingers crossed.

Let's measure it.

So?

Yep. Perfect.

We just need to get an angle grinder now and just take off this little scratch.

Let's do it.

I like it.

Yep. Now that we have everything marked, it's time for some cutting.

But today, as the weather is too good and we have Maycon, our friend that you know already,

you have seen him a few times, that he's not working today and he likes to do things.

So, when he is free he always come to help us.

And... So we're gonna divide.

So, Maycon is gonna cut this, I'm gonna weld the window for the next episode,

and she's gonna prepare the door, that we're just sanding the door, that is gonna be here in the future.

So now, each one to each place.

Let's get work.

So.

Like a lot of thing we have been doing the past few weeks, like 2, 3 maybe 4 weeks,

Today something new, that we've never done before.

And we are scared.

Yeah. We're still a bit scared to do that. But we need to try.

So, we're gonna paint this, and all these frames for the windows.

So, I guess we need to start...

After that we decided to put the door in place and ...

That's what we were talking about... The...

You know you know when I cut 3 times the top bar?

Actually the second time was on the perfect size, the size was just perfect.

Yeah.

I thought it was 2 centimeters shorter, and then when we welded on place,

It went like this.

It was too wide. So, we tried to fit the wooden frame inside

and we have, basically, one centimeter in this side and one centimeter in this side.

That means... it was perfect and somehow we saw it wrong. And now we have a problem to solve.

So, somehow we're gonna fix this gap.

I don't know how yet, but we've come up with a way of fixing this one centimeter gap in each side.

Because the problem is on the top is perfect...

Wait, wait, wait, wait. You are talking too much. I guess we can talk about that on the next part of this episode.

So let's talk about that next Monday.

So, next Monday we're gonna talk about how you fix this problem, how you paint the door,

how you put the metal parts in the door and... Something else?

How we assembled the door.

But first, we are only painting the door white for now.

The thing is we are not sure about the color. Inside of the house we want to have a white door, but outside

sometimes we think it should be blue sometimes we think it should be white, yellow...

Sometimes we think should be green or maybe...

In between blue and green.

Bluish green. Something like that.

So, if you have any opinion about that

just don't forget to leave as a comment on the comment section below,

and let us know about the color you prefer.

But, don't forget that the container will be dark gray.

Oh, yeah. It needs to be something that goes well with dark gray. Not this gray this is light gray.

It's gonna be darker gray. So, I guess...

It needs to be... to match with that.

Yeah.

So, I guess I see you guys next Monday.

Yeah. See you guys next Monday. And if you are new here and you don't know that yet,

we have a new episode every Monday, at 10 o'clock at Brazilian time, 9:30, 10 o'clock.

So, as I don't know where you live, just make the math.

But make sure to keep in mind that's Brazilian time 10 o'clock in the morning, Monday, every Monday.

But if you subscribe to our channel you can receive an email, so you don't need to do the math.

Yeah. That's easier. You just... yeah, that's good.

You just subscribe to the channel don't forget to click on a little belt when you subscribe.

Because if you click on the belt, that means...

The bell.

The bell? Oh, no. Belt is... no.

So, you click on the bell, the little bling bling bling...

to make sure you get an email saying that you have a new video.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Good. So, see you guys next Monday.

Online Coding Interviews: How Not To Fail? (And Land Your Programming Job!) - Duration: 5:57.

Hey, what's up?

John Sonmez here from simpleprogrammer.com.

I got a question.

Actually, I'm going to talk about a subject here.

I've gotten a lot of questions on this, but I want to talk about today on coding interviews,

online coding interviews, how not to fail.

If you've ever been in the position, I know a lot of you have, of having to take an online

coding interview and you failed it.

I'm going to tell you how not to, how to prevent that from happening because, like I said,

a lot of people have complained about this.

I've done some videos and you can check out some of the playlists, some of the videos

I've done on whiteboard interviews and coding interviews, and what not.

I've coached and talked to a lot of people that I've worked in.

It's not as difficult of a thing as you might expect.

First of all, the thing to do is to practice.

There's a reason—the biggest reason, I think, that most developers I talked to fail an online

coding interview and get all upset and say it's not fair and complain and whine about

this, is because they don't know what to expect.

I did this before in school, I remember.

I was taking like an AP US history course.

The first time I took the first test, I was like, "What the hell?"

I read the chapters in the book, but I didn't know I was going to be asked these specific

dates and stuff.

Like I'm not going to memorize from reading the chapter.

I totally bombed the test.

Then once I saw the test, I was like, "Oh, this is what happened."

I was like, "Whatever is like a pertinent date or fact like that's what they're going

to ask a question on.

Now when I read the chapters I underline the parts in the book and I basically pulled out

a bunch of facts from it and I memorized the facts.

It was stupid.

It didn't benefit me anything.

This is our dumb, stupid education system in the US that's totally worthless, but I

figured on how to cheat the test.

Not cheat the test.

How to ace the test based on what they're testing me on.

You always have to fit the studying to the test.

Your goal is to pass the test.

A lot of these things, like I said, they don't necessarily test your knowledge.

Not your actual ability to program necessarily, but how to take the test.

The SATs are a game that a lot of people play and you can get a perfect SAT score.

If you're in high school right now and you're watching this and you're going to go to college,

you check out my playlist on college before you make the decision.

If you're going to go to college, get a perfect SAT score like this is so—to me, it's so

common sense and I'll tell you why because there's SAT prep courses that will almost

guarantee you a perfect SAT score.

They'll teach you exactly what you need to know to be able to pass the test.

It's not going to make you any smarter, but it's going to get you that perfect score so

that you can have the best options for scholarships in college.

It's like very, very common sense to me today to do that.

Okay.

Let's talk more about the coding interview.

First of all, go out there.

There are sites like Codility.com.

I think Euler.net or Euler.com.

There's John Bentley's programming pearls, has a bunch of problems in there.

The first thing is to familiarize yourself with them and take some online test, and to

see what they're like, so that you know what kind of questions that you're going to get.

It's the same thing as doing whiteboard interviews in person.

Go and do that because if you're not prepared, if you don't know what the test is going

to be like, you're not going to know how to study for the test.

The next step is to study for the test.

Again, the resources that I've recommended you already, they have a lot of information

about how to prepare for a coding interview or for an online interview.

Like I said, my book as well, The Complete Software Developer's Career Guide.

Actually, if you get that book, there's a digital download tool kit while it's still

available free, it might not always be available free, where I walk you step by step and show

you how to solve an interview like a whiteboard interview or a coding interview online.

You still have to solve a bunch of problems on your own.

You have to get to the point where this is not only comfortable but fun.

The people that do the best on these kind of interviews, they're the ones—also, they

have the mindset of "this is a fun challenge and I enjoy doing this" as opposed to, "Oh,

I have to do this and this is stupid, and it doesn't"—if you have that attitude,

you're probably not going to do well on it.

The key thing, like I said, is to study for the test.

Anytime you're being tested like this, you need to study for the test.

Go and figure it out.

Go and look.

If it's the first time that you've ever seen an online interview, if you get blindsided

because you've never seen one before, that's dumb.

You're not prepared.

You're not going to pass and don't expect too.

It's hard, right?

You got to go out there and figure out what are they going to test you on.

If you have the opportunity, if you do have a job interview and they're going to have

you do an online test, just ask them.

So many times I've been in interview and I said, "Hey, what are you going to test me

on?"

They tell me exactly what they're going to test me on and then I go and I figure that

stuff out, and I study that stuff and I make sure I know that stuff.

You would think that they wouldn't tell you, but you know what?

If someone asks me—I have interviewed people and I've told them.

I said, "This is exactly what we're going to test and see if you know these things,"

because it's a good test in itself, is if you tell someone what's on the test and then

they still fail it and they still come unprepared, you can just can them right there.

You know that you're not going to hurt that person.

If you do tell them and they prepare, that's great because that shows that they have the

ability to figure out what they need to know on demand, which is the most important skill

as a software developer, anyway, or basically one of the most important skills.

All right.

That's all I got for you today.

If you like this video, make sure you click the Subscribe button below.

Click the bell to make sure you don't miss any videos I do on this channel.

I do two to three a day.

I'll talk to you next time.

Take care.
