Youtube daily report w Dec 5 2017

[♪ INTRO]

If you live somewhere that gets below freezing in the winter,

you've probably heard stories of water pipes bursting during cold weather.

It happened to my house one time.

But you almost never hear about the same thing happening to fire hydrants.

Well that is because we use different types of hydrants in different places,

depending on how cold it gets.

And the ones in cold places don't have any water in them to freeze.

Places with mild climates, like the southern US,

tend to use what are called wet barrel fire hydrants.

Water from underground pipes flows all the way up into the tall,

above-ground section of the hydrant, called the barrel,

even when the hydrant's not in use.

When firefighters need water, they just turn a valve near the top,

and it comes rushing out.

But wet barrel fire hydrants would be terrible in places with colder winters,

because freezing temperatures outside the barrel would freeze the water inside, too.

Water gets bigger when it freezes, so expanding ice inside a hydrant would push against the

inside walls and squeeze any liquid water left in the hydrant,

eventually making the hydrant crack or explode.

This is why pipes burst in the winter: They're not strong enough to withstand the

pressure exerted by expanding ice.

And it's why wet barrel hydrants would explode in the winter, too, if we used them everywhere.

So to avoid that mess, dry barrel hydrants are used.

As you might guess from the name, dry barrel hydrants are normally dry,

meaning they don't have any water in the barrel when they're not in use.

Instead, the water stays underground in water mains, which are buried below the frost line,

the depth where temperatures don't drop below freezing, even in the dead of winter.

In most places, that's just a couple meters below your feet.

In the U.K. and a few other countries, they take this to the next level,

and they don't have any part of the hydrant above-ground at all.

All you see is a colorful marker or metal plate.

When firefighters need water from a dry barrel hydrant,

they turn a valve that lets water up into the barrel and out of the hydrant,

just like with wet barrel hydrants.

But then any water in the hydrant after use is drained, so there is no freezing water,

and therefore no rupture.

It might seem like dry barrel hydrants would be useful everywhere,

but they have a couple of downsides.

Since part of the valve is so far underground,

they can be harder to repair than wet barrel hydrants.

And the fact that they're basically empty when not in use can also be a problem,

because things can be shoved inside them.

In cities, hydrants sometimes get clogged by people using them as makeshift trash cans.

Which is why they're not used everywhere.

But in colder places like here in Montana, that's a small price to pay

for hydrants that don't catastrophically explode every winter.

EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT!

Here's the situation.

The SciShow team and I were talking about a problem that we often have.

People will ask us what we want for Christmas, and we don't know what to say because, what

is stuff for anyway?

It's so twentieth century.

But then I was thinking, y'know, there are a few things that I would like to get,

or that I have bought for myself, or that people have given me that I have loved because...

I love the world, and the universe, and the existence of life...that kind of thing.

So we put together a collection of artifacts of this universe.

We got a limited number of each of those things,

and we have put them in a store called SciShow Finds.

These SciShow Finds are curated by me,

things that I know that I would love to get in my stocking.

It's a very small list, just a few things with varying price points.

We're probably going to add new finds...as we find them...throughout the year,

and those new ones will replace these old ones,

so all of these products are only around for a limited time.

You're bound to have friends or family who would love Mars Socks,

or trilobite fossils, or this Space Shuttle lapel pin.

And, if not, you might want to get them for yourself or just slide a link into your Mom's

DMs so she can get you some socks that you'll

actually appreciate this time.

And know that when you buy from SciShowFinds.com, you are also supporting SciShow,

which you are doing right now just by watching.

So, thanks.

The Story of Beach Volleyball Legend Jackie Silva | Legends Live On - Duration: 9:36.

Sometimes in life I'm an attacker but, I confess,

I'd rather not be an attacker all the time.

(LEGENDS LIVE ON JACKIE SILVA)

The Copacabana Beach was my playground.

I used to play with my friends.

We pretended to play like the grown-ups.

There weren't any pretensions of becoming a professional.

I never thought that one day I'd be an Olympic medallist.

(OLYMPIC GAMES MOSCOW 1980)

Moscow 1980 were my first Olympics.

I think I was 18 years old.

And it was real eye-opener because

that was the time of the Iron Curtain.

Things were rather different.

We weren't allowed to take any photos,

that's why I don't have any pictures.

We couldn't do anything,

just what we were told to do - wave and smile.

It was the opposite to what it is today,

everyone holds a camera, takes selfies.

Our team was very young.

We didn't have great expectations to win a medal

or achieve anything at all.

So for us it was all about being at the Olympics

to take part in it, get the feeling.

There were eight countries and we finished in seventh.

(OLYMPIC GAMES LOS ANGELES 1984)

In these Games,

Brazil could contemplate having a better campaign.

China would play this Olympics to win a gold medal

and the US would also play to win a gold medal.

Brazil was the one that would try to spoil someone's plan.

But we lost the match that we couldn't lose, against the US.

When we got back to Brazil, the transition

from an amateur to a professional league

was getting stronger and I was having problems

with the Brazilian Volleyball Confederation.

When the sport began to change, money was flowing,

sponsorships were happening

but the athletes didn't get their share.

And when they finally did, just the men got it.

Our jerseys had the name of the sponsors on it.

It was the same sponsors for the women and men's teams

and they said the women wouldn't get paid.

I decided to wear my jersey inside out.

So we had a meeting

in which they told me I was being dropped.

She fought for our rights, for equality.

She showed that female volleyball could go further

than the Confederation or leaders thought.

She fought a lot for our sport.

After I was dropped,

I stayed put for a while, I didn't do anything.

Because I couldn't do anything in Brazil,

people wouldn't hire me,

so I thought maybe this is a good time to leave

and try something in the US.

When she came to the United States

I'd heard her back story about being on the outs or ostracised

by the Brazilian Federation

and so she came to the United States

to pursue her volleyball career.

Beach volleyball in southern California

was a burgeoning professional sport,

it was garnering a lot of attention.

Jackie came here to become

a professional beach volleyball player.

She felt that this was where the sport was going to grow

and actually she's one of the people

that made the sport grow.

Once beach volleyball began the process of becoming

an Olympic sport, I didn't want it.

For me it was as if Brazil,

as if I had closed all the doors.

I said, "This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,

"you have to go back, it's important, not just for you

"but for beach volleyball and for your country."

So, Jackie came into my life in 1994

when she was already an experienced player,

famous, already queen of the beach in the USA.

Sandra, she was a very young player, very energetic.

She was inexperienced but had great physical potential.

She rang me and said, "Do you want to play some ball?"

I said, "Of course!"

(OLYMPIC GAMES ATLANTA 1996)

I don't remember a thing of Atlanta,

I didn't see Atlanta at all.

Because I just wanted to compete

and achieve the goal I had set for myself.

Match after match, we were improving

and this was incredible, we had absolute control.

This would be the first women's Olympic medal for Brazil.

And the game itself, the final, was a tough one.

Our opponents, Monica and Adriana,

changed their game strategy.

Because Sandra was a very strong player

and she was an excellent attacker

while I was a very good setter.

The opponents avoided making this kind of move.

They served against me, putting Sandra in the setter position,

changing all our functions.

The first set was a very tight one.

But we won it

and, once the first set was over,

they were broken and gave up

so we won the second set easily.

I would have never imagined

that the last point in the match would have been that way

when the referee blows the whistle

because she makes a fault.

I almost asked to serve again.

I didn't want it to finish that way.

You believe that it should have more glamour, right?

But no.

Look, it's like a jewel to me.

I worked hard to get it

but I work even harder to keep it shining.

Brazil has a really big problem with education.

When I retired,

I created a project called Intelligent Athletes.

So the idea is that, through sport,

we can shape these young people

and prepare them for work.

By working with them daily

we try to increase the confidence

of those children and young kids.

So when they get a job,

they know how to present themselves, how to act.

And it was from this project that Evandro came.

Today, I am number two in the world.

I think the results that I've been achieving

speak for themselves.

I owe it all to my past at Smart Athletes.

Talita was another player I trained

that was at the Olympics too.

Jackie, to me, is an inspiration.

When I look back at my career and all I have achieved,

Jackie was there from the beginning.

I have great affection for all those that helped me.

Discipline is something that makes you free,

despite what people think.

They think that disciplined people are restrained.

It's the opposite,

when you have discipline you have more control.

Once you have more control, you're more confident,

and then you do whatever you want.

Advent 2017: Misericordia et misera - part 2, Fr. M. Legan & Fr. M. Olszewski (subtitles EN, IT, RU) - Duration: 9:02.

The letter that we have been talking about,

not only within our exercises,

is really beautiful and worthy of deeply thinking it through.

For sure,

even the title makes a great impact:

Misericordia et misera,

Mercy meets a woman who's at rock bottom.

- You've entered right into the content,

for me however it wasn't so evident,

I couldn't understand that letter at first.

When I called you to ask what it was all about with Misericordia et misera

and why you wrote to me to say that nothing had really ended, initially,

I couldn't understand the title:

Misericordia et misera.

I have to be honest,

I did not remember that Augustine had talked about it,

as Francis has taken these words from St. Augustine.

And I read the letter several times and thought to myself:

"Oh, Francis, until now it has been so simple,

so easy to understand, but this time I just can't get it!"

- Yes, you're right, as the letter about the face of Jesus,

the merciful face of God for the opening of the Year of Mercy

can be really read by people of any age, any education, it's not...

- Oh, thank you very much...

I know you're about to finishing your postdoctoral habilitation,

and I've only graduated from a seminary in the countryside...

- No, no, God forbid, it's not what I meant,

I was talking about the very simple language used by Francis.

Here, however, we're faced with incredible depth...

Pope Francis is revealing something that proves to be for us very demanding...

- And I could not get it! You see, I had a sense...

- Yes, but I am going back to the moment when the letter was published...

I knew, I had a feeling that in the following months

I would be duty bound to proclaim the message of Misericordia et misera,

and yet I was reading it without understanding.

I couldn't comprehend the title

and I remember it was January and I was thinking about leaving it

and moving to preach following the motto launched by the Polish Episcopate

"Go and Proclaim" with reference to The Year of St. Brother Albert

and simply leave alone Misericordia et misera.

I basically made the resolution, when one evening I came back..

- I have the feeling that many of us made the same resolution

"Let's close the Year of Mercy in our hearts and let's move onto something new"

- Exactly.

And one evening I came back from a retreat,

I entered the common room, it was late so I wasn't expecting anyone to be there

but I saw my Provincial and my Superior.

-And the Provincial said

"Oh, fr. Michał, where have you been the whole day! I haven't seen you in the chapel nor, worse still, at meals!

I answered that I'd just came back from a retreat,

- You got into hot water then!

Yes, I said that I'd just came back from a retreat,

to which my Superior, Fr. Leszek, Rector of the Seminary, said

"Olszewski, Olszewski, what will happen when you stand in front of the Lord?"

And it was at that moment that I had a revelation!

I understood the whole letter and

I told them spontaneously

"It will be Misericordia et misera!"

They looked at me puzzled but

I went running back to my room,

got the letter and started to read it again.

I understood that I had to take the place of the woman caught in adultery...

- It is so beautiful what you've said...

...and, as Francis had said, experience mercy for myself.

- What's great in what you're saying is that in order to understand this message

there must be an encounter.

And just as you met your Provincial,

we see exactly the same thing in the Gospel that Pope Francis is talking about.

A woman, caught in adultery,

is brought before the Lord

and Pope Francis in the first paragraph of his letter says that something very special had occurred.

An encounter.

Why is it so interesting? It's because women caught in adultery were stoned.

And it's a very unusual method of killing a person

in so much that in doing so you must avoid touching them,

in order not to meet them, to create a distance,

to kill them from a distance

You throw a stone in their direction but you will still feel clean.

You haven't touched the sin that you had stoned.

You maintain the distance,

there is an abyss between you and the sinner.

And you feel so righteous...

- Because you kill but it is as if you did not.

- You haven't got stained with blood.

And yet Jesus does something completely opposite.

Whilst the Pharisees want to kill her from a distance,

they want to stone her convinced that having contact with her would be undignified for them,

Jesus does completely opposite.

He enters in a very close, intimate relationship,

he enters into that encounter, their eyes meet and Pope Francis writes that

Jesus' gaze, forgiving, not accusing, ploughed deeply through her heart.

And more so, even those who had brought her there,

the Pharisees, the accusers, faced with that gaze, with that encounter between the adulteress and Jesus,

they had to look into their own hearts,

they had to plough through their hearts.

Look, something very beautiful took place in an encounter:

Jesus wants to meet you,

but it will be impossible if first we don't consider ourselves unworthy of such encounter.

- I recall a situation that happened to me right here, on these stairs...

- We've come here for you to tell us about it...

- Yes, six years ago, it was a much quieter place,

without heavily armed soldiers, the view was not as chilling as nowadays.

It's interesting, by the way, that we see in St. Peter's Square heavily armed soldiers,

and Pope Francis announces the time of Mercy.

The world that gets more and more militarized,

and the Pope who announces peace, an incredible clash.

But right here, six years ago,

I experienced an incredible moment of Misericordia et misera.

It was the beginning of my stay in Rome

and I needed a confession, very very much.

I knew that I couldn't go to bed without going to confession,

my heart was so full of anxiety.

And I came running to St. Peter's basilica

but I found out that on that day there were no priests confessing

as there was some event going on.

And I started to desperately look for a confessional,

I couldn't find any, nobody was confessing at Saint Spirit's either,

and finally, right in front of St. Peter's Square

I saw a priest, he was young, and I asked him

"Are you a priest or a seminarian?"

- "Priest"

- "So, come and hear my confession!"

he was from Poland, and we sat here,

Right here I experienced being embraced by mercy...

- Stairway to heaven...

- Stairway to heaven, quite right,

and I experienced an encounter like the one that we want to talk about during our exercises.

That's why I'm hoping that we, first of all,

and all those who will take part, experience that encounter,

that being embraced by mercy.

- If we were to say anything about mercy,

we can do it only on the basis of our own experience.

I would have never dared to comment on the letter,

and even less so the Gospel, if we had not had that experience.

Yours, on these stairs close to St. Peter's, and mine,

maybe my confessions weren't as spectacular as yours, but still intimate and immersed in God's love.

And only such encounters can produce any content or testimony.

So, whatever we are going to say, it's only because we experienced God's mercy ourselves.

- Let's go forward then!

First time stealth camping in our unstealthy camper van - Mark's regatta edition - Tubi Campervan - Duration: 18:39.

Hello everyone, it's a beautiful morning.

Today, we're camping but it's a little different.

But for right now I'm really running late.

The reason for camping up here

is a little different from normal.

I'm starting a little bit late this morning.

I need to find him.

Today, we're camping in Pohang City.

The reason... well take a look in front of me.

Can you see them?

The boats are sailing out there.

There are a bunch of sailboats in front of me.

The reason we're here today

Mark decided to enter this regatta.

So I followed him up here.

He's teamed up with his friend.

So today I'm going to watch the racing.

And do some vlogging.

It's a bit different than normal right?

It's been a really long time

since Mark's been in a regatta.

Their in dinghy sailboats (Laser 2000s).

Before the regatta starts, they're practicing.

They're going to be so far out

I don't know if I can find Mark.

I'm going over there to see if I can spot Mark.

I failed.

I think the second race has started over there.

But I can't find Mark.

Over there where all the boats are

Mark and his friend are sailing.

For now I'm going back to Tubi.

I've got some work to do.

That's where I was just at.

I think it's call Haewol-jung.

A while back I visited once before.

At night it's really pretty.

Today, we were scheduled to upload a video.

But we had some problems during the rendering.

So we couldn't upload the video.

So because of that

I need to update you guys on what happened.

Oh, last night we did a different style of camping.

I think it's called urban camping.

We did urban camping.

We camped in this parking lot.

The regatta venue is directly in front of us.

Mark had to register early this morning for the regatta.

So we came up late last night.

And parked our campervan here.

So here could be close to the venue.

If you take a look right behind me

1.. 2.. 3..

The food trucks are right next to us.

So if I get hungry later...

Where did I put my keys?

I always...

Where are you keys?

I thought I lost them.

Too many bags.

Just now in the new Community Tab...

Oops.. I look bald.

Just now in the new Community Tab

I just posted that I couldn't upload a video today.

The Community Tab is a new YouTube feature.

Right now only a few youtubers have this feature.

So I don't know how well it will work.

I'm curious so I posted it.

I'll have to wait and see how you guys receive it.

I really hope this post gets to you.

I'm getting ready to get back to the regatta.

in the new Community Tab

I posted a message about missing the upload

to our subscribers.

And I think it's working.

It got 28 likes.

And some people commented.

So our subscriber, even those in other countries

seemed to get our message.

It's a new feature

so we're still unsure about how well it will work.

Anyway, it seems to be working.

Oh... update

'Likes' are up to 31 now.

Thank you!

Sorry we missed the upload time.

We try our best to upload on time.

But sometime it doesn't work out.

Okay, now it's time to get back out there.

Pack my camera

This is Pohang's Yeongilman Beach.

There's a water sports academy.

And Haewol-jung over there.

I think it's a nice spot to camp.

Around this area..

there are a lot of convenient stores and restaurants.

Sometime while camping

you might get a craving for fried chicken

then you can come here and park for free.

So you can camp here

walk around and enjoy the sights.

Also, if you look over here...

You can see her right?

Those kind of segways

electric scooters

also... tiny electric cars

can be rented here.

Oh.. cool!

You can see all the dinghy sailboats grouped together.

Now which one is Mark?

Oh, there coming in pretty close now.

I better get over there!

Have to look far out to find them.

Let's find Mark.

Let's see if we can find Mark together.

We need to find a red hat.

In this regatta..

Little kids are also... taking part.

I can see some tiny boats.

Those are the big dinghies (Laser 2000).

And you can see those small ones (Optimists).

Those are for the little kids.

It's so cold my hands are shaking.

It's freezing just standing here

It must be really cold out there on the boats.

I can't even imagine.

Let's continue our search for Mark.

If we're lucky...

They'll wave at us.

Adam!

Hi guys!

[Adam: Hi!]

Hi!

[Mark: We had to take a penalty turn]

Why?

[Mark: Because we got hit by a boat]

What?

I cannot hear you well.

[Mark: Adam said don't talk to me]

Guys! We found Mark and his friend.

Adam is his friend.

Adam and Mark are teamed up together.

But they took a penalty turn.

I didn't hear why they took a penalty turn.

They're about to round a mark, take a look.

That boat in the very back

is Mark and his friend.

There's a mark here and another up there.

So I think their heading from this one to that one.

Oh!

Oooh!

He's covering all the other boats.

He was very last in that pack

and now he's rounding the mark in second place.

It's fun watching the regatta.

It's been a long time.

It's been years since I saw a regatta.

Haven't seen a dinghy regatta

or even the big keelboats

racing for a long time.

Because it's been awhile it's really exciting.

It's cool!

That's Mark and Adam's boat.

Can you see them?

While they were racing...

While racing their boat was damaged.

The back end was damaged.

I should go there

to check on the damage.

But fortunately no one was hurt.

It's really unlucky

Anyway, the boats damaged so I think they retired.

Now I'm on my way to the boats

to make sure Mark and Adam are okay.

Right there

Mark is by himself holding onto the boat.

Adam.. Adam is carrying to dolly to pull up the boat.

Once they're on shore we'll know.

what happened.

Nice work guys.

It was cold right?

[Mark: yeah it was freezing cold, I'm so glad I wore a wetsuit]

Now that I see all the other boats coming in

they didn't come in because of the damage.

They're back because the racing is done for today.

I was really worried.

Oh no it's finished.

Earlier inside Tubi

We could hear the boom boom boom sounds.

So I came out.

There were fireworks.

Not small ones, but a big show.

So I came out so I could show you guys

But as soon as I came out it was done.

Inside the campervan...

we were talking after Mark and Adam finished sailing.

We talked a lot but I didn't film it.

I was worried about privacy.

Now we're walking.

This is Adam.

And that's Mark.

Hi!

We're on our way to have dinner.

To be honest...

Myself and Mark are already on YouTube.

But our friends and other people

we're not sure about how to film them.

Some people might feel uncomfortable

and we're worried about that.

So we didn't film in the campervan.

But Adam said "It's cool".

He said "it's okay."

So now I'm gong to film.

Where are we going Adam?

It's so noisy in here.

A while back...

Hi auntie.

Maybe 4 years ago we came here.

After car camping.

[Auntie: How many years ago?]

I spoke informally to auntie (in Korean we usually speak honorifically to our elders.. but she made me feel comfortable)

Adam was supposed to show us around.

But Adam said he'd never been here before.

And we really like this place.

It's really different from Busan clam bakes.

They have a unique style of cooking.

So we came here.

You can see

the floor is covered with rocks.

Over here is another table of foreigners.

It's packed from here to way back there.

I'm so happy because I love this kind of food.

[Auntie: Where is he from?]

Excuse me?

[Auntie: What country is he from?]

America.

[Adam: What is this?]

[Auntie: Which one?]

[Adam: this on]

[Auntie: Seafood stock]

[Adam: oh.. seafood stock]

[Lucy shows what she picked up in her old corporate life]

[That's a bottle of soju, a popular Korean spirit]

Cheers!

15 Things 99% Of Humans Can't Do - Duration: 6:36.

• If you ever watch one of the hundreds of talent shows on tv, you'll see an amazing

range of tricks and skills that human beings have learnt.

But are there some things that are more than just a matter of hard work and training?

Are there some skills where you need genetics on your side?

Here's fifteen things that most humans can't do.

15 – Separate all shades of colour • You have three types of colour receptor

in your eye, red, green and blue.

However, some women actually have a fourth, between the red and green, that gives them

the ability to see a far more detailed range of colours.

They are called tetrachromats and to them, a simple yellow flower might be a little rainbow

of different hues.

14 – Echo locate • You know that things that bats do, where

they squeak in high frequency and then wait for the echo so they can navigate.

Well, people can do that too, except the only ones who have dedicated enough time to the

skill are blind people.

Daniel Kish makes a clicking noise and is such a brilliant echolocator that he can ride

a bike, despite having his eyes removed at 13 months.

What is amazing is that test have revealed that the echoing sound activates his visual

cortex, meaning he is actually seeing with his ears.

13 – Feel through other people's senses • There is a rare neurological disorder

called synaesthesia, that can give rise to an incredible array of abilities.

These include mirrors sensations, where you can watch someone being tapped on the knee

and feel the tap yourself.

Others process their senses in highly unusual way, like tasting words, seeing music and

having superb memories.

12 – Resist HIV • About 1 million people per year die from

AIDS related illnesses, and over 35 million people are currently living with HIV.

But, there is a very small percentage of the planet, less than 1%, that has a natural immunity

to the virus.

The first person ever discovered with this ability was Stephen Crohn, who by a strange

medical coincidence, is the great-nephew of Burrill Crohn, who discovered Crohn's disease.

Weird, right?

11 – Run without stopping • When you run, or perform any strenuous

exercise, you produce lactate.

At the start, your body can process away the lactate but there is a threshold and once

you pass it, lactate builds in your muscles and forces you to stop -this is what causes

a stitch in your side for example.

• Dean Karnazes doesn't have this threshold; he never needs to stop running.

The only thing he needs to stop for is sleep 10 – Be a super sprinter

• While Dean's condition is extremely rare, there are more people who are known

as super-sprinters.

Many power athletes like sprinters and weightlifters are found to have a much higher ratio of a

functioning gene called ACTN3.

About 18% of the world have two copies of it, but they are both defective.

So it seems you need this gene to function to create powerful muscles

9 – Sleep just 4 hours a night • For most of us, if we just slept four

hours a night, we'd be crying into our 6th coffee before we'd even had lunch.

But a small percentage of the world naturally operate on 4 hours, without any negative impact

so we're hoping to find out exactly how this works.

8 – Take all the drugs and booze • 2016 was famous for being the year where

many music greats died; we lost Prince, Bowie, Leonard Cohen and many others.

But there are some rock stars that seem to survive despite all the odds.

And it's not just luck.

In 2010, it was found that Ozzy Osborne has a genetic mutation that made it far easier

for his body to process drugs and alcohol, which is probably what has kept him alive

7 – Leave no fingerprints • Our next ability is only really useful

if you're up to no good but some people are born without any fingerprints.

One Swiss woman discovered that she had this condition when she was going through immigration

at the US border and they couldn't take a fingerprint sample from her.

6 – Super taste • Let's be honest, a lot of wine experts

sounds like their making it up.

You're not getting hints of cinnamon and bacon, it just tastes like wine, mate.

But there are supertasters, who can sense flavour that most of us wouldn't notice.

It's especially strong around bitterness so this could be why some children really

hate vegetables.

5 – Perfect pitch • Thanks to auto-tune, you don't even

need to be able to sing if you want to make it in the music industry but there are human

beings who've always had a similar skill.

Perfect pitch doesn't just help you sing in tune, it allows you to hear the exact pitch

of any note, even for non-musical sounds like car-horns, alarms and Calvin Harris.

4 – Super calculators • Most of us give up on arithmetic at quite

an early age, and rely on an app or a laptop to work out our taxes and bills.

But this is more that we don't want to try, most people could learn to be a lot better

than they are.

But there are uncanny human calculators out there who can work out huge sums in an instant.

There are about 100 recognised savants in the world, many with the ability to super

calculate.

This can be a genetic mutation or even be caused by a brain injury.

3 – Live at high altitude • Living at high altitude has been shown

to improve people's ability to run long distances, since you benefit from the higher

oxygen at low altitudes.

But most of us could gain this skill by living up high.

But many Tibetans have genetically altered to have a larger chest capacity, allowing

them to survive in higher altitudes and avoid the sickness that these heights would give

most people.

2 – Give blood to any other human • This ability can only help other people.

There are 40 known people who have Rh-null, a blood time that is absolutely universal.

O-negative is quite universal but it doesn't match with some other negative forms so this

Rh-null is kept for extreme circumstances.

We only have 9 donors in the world though.

1 – See perfectly underwater • The Moken people, who spend most of their

lives out at sea around the Mergui Archipelago, have adapted to their lifestyle.

In controlled tests, it was found that Moken children can see twice as far as European

kids underwater, with their vision stretching out to over 20 metres.

BREAKING: Trump Just Made BIG Announcement To Americans 20 Days Before Christmas – Riots About To Er - Duration: 4:47.

BREAKING: Trump Just Made BIG Announcement To Americans 20 Days Before Christmas – Riots

About To Erupt!

An apologetic presidency catering to everything anti-American ended with Barack Obama.

President Donald Trump is in charge now and is doing everything it takes to make America

great again, no matter who offends.

With all the distraction on the petulant players in the NFL throwing National Anthem temper

tantrums, people have missed what else has been brewing which we're about to face right

now, just 20 days before Christmas.

Knowing what's coming, Trump has just issued a massive announcement to all Americans that

is likely to cause outrage among some that could lead to riots.

When you're the leader of the greatest nation in the world, you can do what you want, which

we saw from Barack Obama who used that privilege for wrongdoing and the demise of our nation.

Trump is turning that train around by using his power for good in long-overdue ways, which

he promised to do when Americans voted him into office.

After already warning everyone about what's coming, he just doubled down on that declaration

with what he just openly reminded everyone to do right now.

It's clear that he's not backing down and that we have the right man in the White

House.

The liberal war of words is alive and well in our country.

The left wants to ban sentiments that trigger them and the right is pointing out the obvious

that regardless of political standing, we all as Americans share the same right to the

First Amendment.

Now, Trump has just settled the most controversial argument in our country once and for all by

making a new rule that's infuriating liberals.

Conservative Tribune reports:

President Donald Trump reminded everyone in the nation during the White House tree lighting

that Jesus is the reason for the Christmas season.

As recorded on The White House website, the lighting ceremony took place on Nov. 30.

President Trump carried on White House tradition and spoke at the ceremony.

Without hesitation or embarrassment, he took the stage and immediately began to recall

the Christmas story.

"The Christmas Story begins 2,000 years ago with a mother, a father, their baby son,

and the most extraordinary gift of all—the gift of God's love for all of humanity,"

he began.

"Whatever our beliefs, we know that the birth of Jesus Christ and the story of his

life forever changed the course of human history," he continued.

The president wasn't afraid to keep mentioning the name of Jesus or tell America the truth

about the Christmas season: it's all about the birth of Jesus Christ.

"Each and every year at Christmas time we recognize that the real spirit of Christmas

is not what we have, it's about who we are – each one of us is a child of God," Trump

continued, according to LifeSite News.

"That is the true source of joy this time of the year.

That is what makes every Christmas 'merry,'" he stated.

It's refreshing to have a leader of the nation who also represents the groundwork

that our country was built on, which was Christianity.

This is a stark difference from his Muslim predecessor who only pretended to be a faithful

Christian at his inauguration, but spent two presidential terms proving otherwise.

Trump doesn't hide his faith, in fact, he's proud of it as we saw during his campaign

when he declared that if he becomes president he'll bring "Merry Christmas" back instead

of insisting on everyone saying the non-offending phrase, "Happy Holidays."

At a time when any mention of God has been removed from schools and the calls for it

to be erased from the Pledge of Allegiance, our new president is reaffirming the Christian

values that make up our nation.

Trump wants Christmas back in the agenda.

I'm guessing he's tired of everyone complaining about it.

I am too.

It wasn't ever a problem years ago and it's not a problem now.

Christmas is one of the biggest holidays in America and we're sticking to it.

We're not getting rid of Christmas.

We're not calling it winter holiday.

We're not letting these politically correct crybabies bully everyone into feeling bad

about loving Christmas.

It's our holiday and we'll enjoy it and give attention to what the real reason for

the season is.

Anyone who finds it offensive can celebrate their own holiday, but don't cry about ours.

You don't see conservatives whining about other people's holidays.

Go celebrate!

Enjoy your day and we'll enjoy ours and we can all celebrate New Year's Eve together.

Unless that, of course, is offensive too.

Is the calendar offensive to snowflakes as well?

Are we starting a #NotMyNewYear hashtag trend?

I think not.

Christmas is right around the corner, just 20 days from now, but here's an early MERRY

CHRISTMAS to all of you and yours in hopes that it triggers some snowflakes and anti-Christmas

goons.

10 Winter hazards for dogs. - Duration: 5:02.

In this video I'm going to talk about ten winter hazards and your dog all that and

more coming up

hello dog lover my name is Saro I'm a dog trainer also coach dog owners if

this is your first time here welcome and if you want to become and educated the

dog lover and have a well-behaved balanced healthy dog consider

subscribing to my channel and hit the bell icon as well so you will get

notified as soon as I post my next video so in this video I'm going to talk about

ten winter hazards that you need to be cautious about your dog during the

winter season there are plenty of hazards like antifreeze and ice but I'll

go more in details about all those dangers that I believe are most

important ones so tip number one it's regarding small dogs or dogs who have no

hair or short hair in the winter they tend to get colder more than dogs who have

longer fur so I do suggest to put a sweater or a raincoat or a jacket on

them to protect them against the cold obviously for dogs who have longer coats

I don't recommend putting on coats or jacket on them because an additional

coat will interfere with their body temperature regulation

I recommend booties for dogs if you are going for a walk in the ice or on

the snow but you have to be careful to find the right booties so they can fit

properly booties can keep your dog's paws and feet safe from hidden dangers in

the snow like salt on the road and also booties can give your dog a better grip

on the ice as well I don't recommend allowing your dog to wear the booties

and run and play in the snow they can fill up with the snow and

cause hypothermia in your dog avoid allowing your dog to eat snow or

anything in general dangerous chemicals and objects can be hidden in the snow

and also eating snow can cause your dog to have stomach upset and also

hypothermia beware of antifreeze because it is

highly toxic antifreeze tastes good to pets and even a

small amount of antifreeze can kill your dog although exposure to antifreeze

throughout the year can be a risk but it's very common throughout winter

season also I also suggest thoroughly wipe your dog's paws and legs and stomach when your dog

comes home from sleet snow or ice they tend to leak themselves when they are

wet and they can ingest salt antifreeze and other potential dangers chemicals

while they're licking their paws and legs also suggest to trim your dog's fur paws

leg and the stomach areas to prevent snow from balling up on their coats and also

to keep it a little bit tidy never leave your dog in a cold weather in the car a

car can act as a refrigerator and it can get really cold quickly as well just

like in the summer that it can heat up fast your car can also freeze fast

make sure your holiday decoration is out of reach and safe and also dog proof

tinsel is particularly dangerous to dogs make sure to supervise your dog while

around the tree as you're celebrating this season the holiday season may be

fun for you your dog and your family but it could be very stressful for your dog

try to keep a regular schedule for your dog

keep that regular routine going on with your dog and focus on your dog's 5

essential needs no matter when no matter if it's Monday no matter if it's Sunday

no matter if it's holiday or what keep your dog's routine and schedule and focus on

five essential needs which are exercise training socialization care and

then affection many dogs tend to be less active during the winter season so

they'll burn less calories so what I would suggest is reduce your dog's food

intake to avoid excessive weight gain and number 10 make sure that your dog is

not spending too much too long time in a winter cold weather outdoors I hope

you like these tips by the way did you know that your dog's

normal body temperature is a bit higher than yours so winter is the perfect time

to snuggle up with your dog and keep yourself and your dog warm if you liked

this video give it a thumbs up share and comment let me know how you will be

enjoying your dog in this winter season and I'll see you next time and until

next time have fun with your dog

⛄ Cosa è per te il Natale? What is Christmas for you? - Duration: 8:31.

Dear friends, please keep calm! This year I will not show you reindeer-drawn sleds rancing through snowbanks,

trough wonderful forests...

and Santa Claus bringing lots of presents to well-behaved children

because we shall see plenty of them all the way to the Ephifany

Yes, a little bit of Christmas spirit will need to be created

And, these pictures of Norway and the Aurora borealis, I phink they can represent this spirit optymaly

But I would like to talk to you about Christmas, the real one, not that of Christmas puddings and jewels

Christmas is the feast dedicated to children, but it is also a feast of love ..that most noble of human sentiments

After all, one has to love the neighbor; this commandament however, really is beautiful, it begins whit the word "love".

It is above everyone, whatever they may say. It tells us to love neighbor, but wait! it also tells us how to love him ..it says "Love thy neighbor as thyself",

Therefore, we must love ourselves because we must create a measure by which we can gauge our love for others...what a beautiful thought ...it wants us to love ourselves.

I think that it's the first time in the history of the world, that there is a law that says: "Love yourselves, care for each other" by law ..love yourselves. Incredible , it's an order! ....

But the most surprising thing, one that nobody ever thinks of and at first sight escapes us, is that when he tells us to "love thy neighbor"

he is telling us that not only do each of us have an obligation to love, but that we have the right to be loved too..

The right, because the other person must love you too, so therefore we must be embraced by the embrace, this is a profound thought ... It's immense

It wants everyone to be loved...it wants everybody to experience what it means..it wants each one of us to have the right to encounter this miracle

In short everything is drawn together and summed up with tis phrase

finds its fullness, sums up, sums up in this word:

Love each other

THERE IS AN EXTREMELY POWERFULL FORCE FOR WHICH SCIENCE HAS NO FAR FOUND NO FORMAL EXPLANATION

IT IS A FORCE THAT UNDERSTANDS AND MANAGES ALL THE OTHERS AND IS ALSO BEHIND WHICH EVER PHENOMENON ARE OPERATING IN THE UNIVERSE AND NOT YET IDENTIFIED BY OURSELVES

Moltitudes of philosophers, authors , psychologists, and poets have grappled unsuccessfully whit the definition of love.

The only possible definition is a "non-definition", one conceived by Plato, considering it as a mysterious, esoteric and transcendent feeling of joy and torment, "a delusion inspired by God, a divine madness."

THIS STRENGHT IS LOVE

LOVE IS LIGHT, AS IT ILLUMINATES WHO GIVES IT AND WHO RECEIVES IT

LOVE IS GRAVITY BECAUSE IT ENABLES PEOPLE TO BE ATTRACTED TO OTHERS

Don't believe that you ride on a boat with the weight of years on your arms ...on a boat that is likely to sink is a glory or life

it is only the distant fear that this river can also overwelm our hearts

feeling is never a word

and no pity

but only a thank you

of life

asking if the friend is true

or just a dream.

Way did not you write to me?...

Why?

it was not over for me

I've been waiting for you for 7 years

and now it's too late

I wrote you 365 letters

I wrote to you every day for a year!

You wrote to me?

yes.

it was not over

..and it's not even over now!

THIS IS THE VARIABLE WE IGNORED FOR TOO LONG

MAYBE BECAUSE LOVE FRIGHTENS US

SINCE IT IS THE ONLY ENERGY IN THE UNIVERSE THAT MEN HAS NOT LEARNED TO MANEUVER AT WILL

EINSTEIN LETTER TO HER DAUGHTER

Hello Daddy, it's me

I just wanted to call and let you know

that we can't make it for Christmas this year. We'll tray again next year. It'll work out, I promise. Merry Christmas Daddy.

see you soon . Merry Christmas Granpa!

How else could I have brought you all together?

Mmh!

Come on, Claudio! You know that I can't be missing from your Christmas video!

Why Don't Fire Hydrants Freeze and Explode? - Duration: 3:52.

Why Don't Fire Hydrants Freeze and Explode? - Duration: 3:52.

Cheers!

4 Tips Looking after the areas around Canning Stock Route wells - Duration: 3:35.

G'day and welcome to Rona's Roadshow. We're talking with Eric Gard today

about caring for the Canning Stock Route. Eric's going to give us 4 tips on how

to look after the areas around the Wells.

Eric and his partner, Ronele Gard, not only wrote one of the Bible's of the track

Canning Stock Route: a Traveller's Guide, but they travelled the track 47 times!

Wow! So they're gonna give us 4 tips on how to look after the area around the wells

People for some reason what a camp near a well. There's not much firewood for a campfire

around any well that I know of these days...

1st Tip Please don't camp around the wells

It's denuding the area of firewood.

As we run out of firewood we're pulling down trees and

things and that is taking away habitat

The toileting facilities are few and far between. Now there's a few good

toilets along the way for use.

But in most cases you camp near the well most

most people who don't want to get out in the middle of the night and go

for their 200 meter walk away from the well, in case they get lost,

so they urinate and defecate fairly close to the well.

Tip number 2

don't camp around the wells

because people are polluting the water

with their toileting around there .

The other thing about the wells is I've seen

in the 3 different videos thisyear... they've displayed in a Facebook page

where people have drawn water from the well. The first thing they do is

stand on to one side and start washing themselves. Take your water away from the

wells and wash yourself away from ... behind the nearest scrub bush.

It's tip number 3 don't wash at the well.

Go away from the well. That way we're preserving the clean water.

There's hardly any firewood at all along with Canning itself

and I'suppose in the few years time it'll be such that if

you want a fire you'll be taking the gas bottle with you and that's not nice.

Most people want to still have a campfire.

It's freezing in the desert at night as you know. Yeah.

We found it's easier to camp away from the wells.

Please clear around the wells of spinifex and any vegetation.

It just safeguards them from fire. I've done a whole video on that just a quick one

with Eric where he talks about that just in a bit more detail

Canning Stock Route: a Traveller's Guide

This is a Bible folks. Do not set foot in that desert

those derests...How many deserts out there? Four.

Four deserts out there! Without this book. Yeah.

Ronele Gard - apols for the misspelling :(

Thank you for joining us on Rona's Roadshow.

Please like, comment, share and

subscribe if you like the video.

Thank you. We'll see you next time. Bye bye!

CHRISTMAS to all of you and yours in hopes that it triggers some snowflakes and anti-Christmas

goons.

What do you think about this?

NASA Scientists Baffled By Death Planet Discovery - New Planet X/Nibiru? - Duration: 2:36.

Nasa scientists are baffled by the discovery of a death planet, and they are calling it

Wasp-18b. What is a death planet and why is nasa so confused by it? I'm going to break

it down for you, here on IO. What is good space potatoes, or should I call

you spuds. Welcome back to another spacey science video. My name is charlotte, and if

this is your first time here, hit that subscribe button. If you love space, you should definitely

check out our other channel lifes biggest questions. We tackle hypothetical questions

like What if earth fell into a black hole, so if that sounds exciting to you, definitely

subscribe. Alright, lets talk about Wasp-18b, aka the

death planet. It was found after scientists observed the light reflecting off it with

the hubble space telescope. Its 325 light years away from earth and it has a very unusual

fingerprint. Wasp-18b is surrounded by a thick stratosphere of carbon monoxide. Carbon monoxide

fumes are produced when you burn fuel in automobiles, when you use stoves, grills and fireplaces

or furnaces. If it builds up, it can poison people or animals who breathe it. There is

almost no water vapor that makes up the atmosphere, and it also doesn't have an ozone. On earth,

our ozone layer absorbs UV way up in the stratosphere, and it protects us from radiation. So, I guess

that rules out the possibility of us finding aliens on wasp-18b. Astronomers named it the

death planet because it would be virtually impossible for anything to live there. Firstly,

it's a gas planet that's 10 times the mass of Jupiter, and its so close to its parent

star that its bombarded daily by deadly radiation. According to Kyle Sheppard of nasa, they don't

know of any other extrasolar planets where hot carbon monoxide completely dominates the

upper atmosphere, and cooler carbon monoxide in the layer below, the troposphere. Its also

the biggest gas giant that we know of. scientists believe that wasp-18b formed in a different

way than other gas giants, because it has a lot of metals in its atmosphere. When it

was forming, it is likely that it accumulated more solid ices.

The upcoming launch of the james webb space telescope will open up more doors and allow

us to find more extrasolar planets in the future. It is expected to launch in October

2018. Comments – Nasa sends signal 13 billion

miles into space and gets response Chris S – I don't understand how nasa

can send a signal that far away and yet AT&T can only send me a bar of service in some

parts of Austin. It's a conspiracy, really. Potato man – aliens: send nudes. Tell the

aliens I said not until we are married. Boys anshbacher – thanks so much for this

video! I have been such a fan of the voyager project for so long after a school project

I chose to do on them. thanks so much for the update on them

SEW SHOULDER SEAMS | KNITTING TUTORIAL - Duration: 2:08.

we are going to sew the shoulders.

So, you're going to have a tapestry needle

with some yarn and I did it like almost triple the size and let's go through our

back piece and then leave some out so that we can weave in our ends.

Now, we're going to go through our first bar...this V.

go through the back

pull

Now you're going to find the first V here, which is this one.

Then, you pull.

and this will make an invisible seam. Now our next one..it's right here

and then our next one is right here, go through the back.

all the way to the end.

Now your other side

your first one's right here.

Do you see how you're gonna go through each

one of these bars? Here's our next one and then just right here right next to that V.

here here here. So you just keep on going all the way through those lines.

SEW SLEEVES TO SWEATER | KNITTING TUTORIAL - Duration: 2:49.

We are going to sew the sleeve to the sweater and I cut my yarn three times

the length and I have my tapestry needle. As you can see, I just tied a knot of the

center so I counted these and I just put my yarn through both of these so that

the center stays with this one. Okay so I have 14 stitches here and then going

on my sweater is actually 17 stitches where these line up so I'm going to be going

through each of these fourteen and so I'm going to skip three so let's attach

our yarn on our sleeve. Leave a tail. Okay do you see this bar?

We are going to go through it.

Then we're going to go through our first vertical stitches so

this is our horizontal bar and then we're gonna go through the vertical bar or the V stitches.

Okay now, let's look... let's go through two of them since we

have 17 here and only 14 here right? So that means I only need to go through two

of them again two more times. Okay now our next vertical bars.

and you don't need to pull too tight. So here's our next one.

alright and this is how you

sew your shoulder onto your sweater.

look how pretty

Then, when you're done

you tie a knot

and then you weave your stitches

and then I just kind of go through back there

and then cut

How To | Saddle Pad Transformation - Unique Vibrant African - Duration: 4:15.

Hello y'all, welcome to the teewa tee channel.

Here goes how I transformed my old, tired looking bicycle saddle pad to a vibrant looking

give me some African positive energy Bom Bom pad support

first of all if you are a child watching this you will need an adult present to

assist you

I used a seam ripper to detach the old fabric from the leather this process

actually took most of my time I took the old fabric placed and pinned it on my

new fabric of choice traced around half an inch then afterwards I used a pair of

scissors to cut the fabric into the shape of the saddle

I folded the African fabric in half to get the very middle in order to

place it exactly on the leather and then it was pinned round to the leather at half

an inch

then I used my sewing machine to do the rest of the job for me

and voila thank you for watching this short video if you haven't yet

subscribed please do so already don't forget to thumbs up and share

leave your comments as well and until my next video

Bye; Au revoir; Tchuss; Auf weidersehen
