have narrowed it down to.

If you gave us one and its not on there its not because we didn't like it, its because

we can only have 5 in our poll.

We chose them out of a hat.

And here they are.

Real Life Truman Show | Susunu! Denpa Shōnen - Duration: 6:35.

We all know the Japanese love crazy shit. Weird-ass candies, tentacles and

ridiculous game shows. But there was one game show that took their batshit love

of batshit insane games do a whole new batshit level. It made The Truman Show

who looked like a morally pure experiment where nobody was hurt.

The star; Nasubi. The game Susunu! Denpa Shonen. Let's dig a little deeper,

you and I. Sununu! Denpa Shonen featured a 22 year old comedian

nicknamed Nasubi. His nickname meant eggplant, a reference to his long face,

and he was hoping the show would kick-start his comic career. Well it

didn't fuckin' do that let me tell you. After he'd auditioned producers told

Nasubi that he would appear in a segment but may or may not air but if it did air

it would make him a star. The young man was then blindfolded and taken to a room

that was empty aside from a radio, a cooker, and a coffee table. There was

essential plumbing, a small cushion, a piles of magazines. Other than that the

room was bare. Then the producers told Nasubi to strip. That's when producers

explained he was in a contest called Sweepstakes Life. If you wanted clothes,

food or anything at all he'd have to win his supplies by entering sweepstakes.

That's why there were so many magazines. Once he reached to ten thousand dollars

worth of prizes he'd be free to leave the room and begin his life as a

celebrity. Until then you have to stay in the room, cut off from the world, living

on only what he won. Oh and he had to change the tapes in the video camera.

Tapes that may or may not end up on TV someday. So yeah he was in a tiny room,

pretty much nothing in it, fairly naked and he had to fill out those

shitty postcards you get on the backs of magazines to win prizes. Sounds awesome!

Of course the kicker is he can only get food by winning prizes so Nasubi got to

work, filling in post cards and entering nearly 300 contests a day. Of course it

takes a while to win a sweepstakes and soon Nasubi was losing a lot of weight.

Thankfully the crew gave him bread and water but when he finally won

a few sodas two weeks in the free food stopped. Four weeks later he won a bag

of rice but since he didn't have a pot he had to cook his food in a soda can. He

also won crazy prizes like Spice Girls tickets and a TV. I mean he can't eat a

TV, you just you just can't. And he never won any clothing that fit so he was

naked the entire time. How long did the contest last? Well Nasubi was shut in

the room for about a year it took him ten months to win any toilet paper. As you

might expect the isolation took a toll on Nasubi and soon he stopped grooming

and started taking advice from toys he'd won. He was literally going crazy.

But what Nasubi didn't know is that he was already famous. The producers had

lied. His crazy antics were already all over the TV and 16 million people were

watching him run around naked, barely making it on rice and beating off.

Beating off the boredom by talking to his penis. Of course producers covered up

no Nasubi's groin with an illustrated eggplant and the show was enhanced with

silly sound effects and bizarre graphics. So tasteless. Strangely the show was so

popular that Nasubi was already popping up in commercials and on magazines

Unknowingly, the whole time. People watched him on a

24-hour live feed, read his diaries which producers had published, Nasubi's

entire life was on display. Once Nasubi reached his $10,000 goal the producers

gave him clothes and flew him to South Korea. He spent the day enjoying the

scenery but that night they snuck him in a Korean apartment that looked just like

his old one, they ordered him to strip and said if you wanted plane tickets

back to Japan you'd have to play the game all over

again. Frustrated and tired Nasubi obeyed and spent four months in Korea living

off only what he won in magazines. Again, when that was finally over the producers

took him back to Japan and they let him go. Sike! Of course they didn't, they're

Japanese. They took him back to Japan put him in an entirely new apartment and

told him to play the game again. Assuming he had to play another round, Nasubi took

off his clothes. And that's when the walls fell down.

Suddenly he found himself surrounded by the audience, laughing, clapping and

cheering. That's when the hosts of Sunsunu! Denpa Shonen informed the

bewildered comedian that he was already a star, and that he'd won the game.

Now it's fair to say his life was ruined by the experience, he had trouble talking

and wearing clothes for years. He'd been on public display for quite some time.

The entire thing lasted fifteen months but I mean some good must have come out

of it right? Wrong. His comedian career, the entire reason

why he did it, basically kind of flatlined after he got out of the show

because it's hard to make jokes when you've been held prisoner for fifteen

months. The kicker? Nasubi could have actually left the

apartment any time he wanted, the doors were never locked. When asked why he

stayed, he simply replied "I said I'd do it

and I do what I say". Okay well at least he says it's given him a better outlook

on life and he's not in the room anymore. Not like me I'm in the same room every

fucking day. Thanks for watching, Mike out.

Se Primo Levi avesse avuto un canale YouTube - Saviano a YouTube Pulse 2017 - Duration: 13:44.

Here we go.

I've decided to set up a YouTube channel

I wanted to try something different

Although the written word has always been my one true love

video is like a secret lover for me and I can't help coming back for more.

Recently, I've been obsessed with the idea of starting a YouTube channel

so I can tell my stories

with no filters at all.

"Do you know why in movies, especially American movies, people shoot like this?"

"If you don't read… you don't live. "

Whether we're talking about the mafia, books

religion or music

"Today we're talking about music, then about religion"

or about religion and music together

I want to be talking with you

I can't hide the fact that I'm nervous and I need to get used to doing this

I'm still not quite sure how

but as I said earlier, I want to try something different.

I'm happy to be starting this

but at the same time I'm a little scared

As the old quote goes

"Fear knocked at man's door, but when man is wise

and opens the door, the fear has vanished completely."

See you soon

Thank you

I'm excited to be here to, in a way, launch the Gomorra Channel.

This is the latest in a long string of adventures

that I am very glad to dive into

Why?

Because for me, it also means getting revenge in a way

people want me to be closed up

I have almost no room to move and the horrible situation I find myself

in often leads to isolation

but if there are doors, if there are windows

I can escape from that isolation

This is really what YouTube has represented for me especially

over the years I have been using it

It offers accessibility

information and music

Perfect for me and my nomadic lifestyle

wherever I have an Internet connection is my home

And it's my home because I can get access to information

and so

that is what Gomorra Channel means to me

Being able to have somewhere to share

and by doing so, break free

from my constraints

I am particularly happy to be here

because

over the years I have had the chance to observe

the dynamics of YouTube

The dynamics of the content

Yes, because YouTube is always seen as something in the present

whereas in reality, it has already become a memory

We access YouTube to find out about what has already happened, to catch up on the news

entertain ourselves

and then there's another element: views

The power—you know better than I do

that investors must have some sort of alchemy

the power of knowing how to read the numbers

because just reading the amounts the numbers state is very easy

Anyone could do it

Lots of views, I'll invest in that

But in reality, the true magic that I've learnt from you

is how to read the quality of the numbers over time

Investing in content

that is, building it

building everything that makes up YouTube

YouTube is direct

it's easy

it's accessible

it's complex

What do I mean by complex? It goes to the heart of things

it gives you time

you can go when you have time, you can come back again and again

and when you have a moment, you can be there

And what does this mean?

Developing the complexity

that is, the ability to go deeper. So?

That means that reading the numbers

means being able to see

what kind of talent is behind a video

what kinds of opportunities are behind a video. Huge numbers

as we see coming from music , for example, go in one direction

And then there are smaller numbers

medium-sized numbers

that fill YouTube

and in this wilderness

we need to understand why these numbers are like that

Numbers are not all equal, it would be a mistake to think so

a very serious mistake indeed

Let me give you an example

A little while ago

this sort of comparative metaphor came to me

and it was this

when Primo Levi first published "If This Is A Man"

it was rejected by the major publishers and eventually picked up by a small publisher in Turin

And I started to wonder

if Primo Levi had had a YouTube channel

and decided to tell

tell the story of the hell he had gone through

and was willing to expose it, if he had told his story there

how many clicks would he have got?

So I used a number: 1900

as that was the number of copies that were printed in the first edition

600 copies of the first edition of "If This Is A Man" were left in stock

Now

would what a smart investor have done?

Looked at those numbers

and realized that they were extremely high!

What do you mean extremely high? 1900. That's a huge number!

Because in Italy at that time

nobody wanted to tell those stories

because in Italy at that time

nobody wanted to look that part of history square in the eye

because that voice, Primo Levi's voice, was new

and a new voice needs time

time and space

So those numbers really were huge! And, they were starting to attract attention

Who believed in it? Obviously who believed in books and paper

now, in Italy alone, there are over 3 million hard copies of the book

There are those who believed in it

and saw a trace of something in those initial numbers

And as we carry on

with these examples

we can find a whole lot more, all very interesting

take this professor, this historian, Alessandro Barbero

who made a video that I believe someone else posted online

a video of him at a festival talking about the Battle of Waterloo, for an hour

For an hour!

There are no pictures, just a single fixed camera, and at a certain point the light goes, it even goes into shadow

What are 70,000 views compared to, for example, music or pranks or games?

It may very well blow over

you almost think it's not worth mentioning. 70,000 views

from people listening to an hour-and-a-half-long lecture on Waterloo

That's a revolution!

YouTube brought a lesson on Waterloo into the homes of 70,000 people

That's a bombshell

that's a true transformation

Adrian, who we saw before, the popular science guy, a kid from Romania

just ups and decides to make a video

about astronomy

30,000 views in two hours

And you'll say, yeah, so?

You'll get ripped to shreds in the news for only

getting 6 million views on the first day it's posted

30,000 for a popular science video on astronomy?

That's world-changing stuff!

That's why you always have to look

at the quality of the numbers

Now careful here, I'm not talking about their moral quality

it's not that getting loads of views is depressing, quite the contrary

and that's simply because there are different genres of video

and because whatever speaks to your gut tends to go viral

If I send you a video

a jokey, cute or musical video

you can share it immediately, you like it right away

If I send you something to think about

you have to spend some time on it

some of your very own time. If I recommend a book to you

or I tell you a story

before you can share it

or before you can talk about it, you have to listen to it

you have to feel it, or you have to read that book

and so virality takes on a different timeframe! But an investor

knows that virality built upon awareness

is truly priceless

That's exactly what you have to bring home

The volume? It's as quick and easy to make

as it's quick and easy to lose everything

YouTube spreads talent far and wide

I'm happy to

- I must say - to have stumbled upon a video of a talent

Yes, because

a while ago

I posted a video on my page

a video

of a dancer

a dancer who happens to be on the street

Rima

and there's a violinist, Ivo, and they don't know each other

and Ivo is playing

a piece that became famous as it was part of the soundtrack for the movie Amélie

The Fabulous Destiny of Amélie

and Rima's dad

is saying: "Yallah, yallah", come on, dance!

A little shy, she starts to twirl

then, at a certain point, completely overcome by the music, she starts to dance

and her dad is filming her, other tourists are filming her

they uploaded it

Then an year after they uploaded it, I bring it to Italy, and boom!

Millions of views

Millions of views that don't just represent the pleasure

of seeing a girl dance, but rather the talent

that you just come across, quite by chance

changing the fate of a whole day

And I am happy to show you this wonderful talent that YouTube has allowed us

to share with the world.

Thank you

It pursues your smell, it pursues me and owns me.

This smell is not a perfume overlaid on you,

it is not the aroma you bring as an ornament in addition:

it is your essential smell, your only one.

And when, absent, my void calls you,

a gust of that breath comes from the sweetest point of the night.

I smell with you and your smell soaks after we've been together in bed,

and that subtle aroma feeds me, and that essential breath replaces me.

Mark Hall - Don't be a Lone Ranger | More Than Music - Duration: 2:09.

Big life lesson for me, going through cancer,

was something I didn't see coming.

I've been a youth pastor for half my life,

so I'm always the guy that helps other people;

and I always want to encourage other people

to help other people, and go to them.

A lot of times we're not sure

how to love somebody that's hurting,

we don't know what to say,

so we're scared we're going to say the wrong thing, so we run.

I've always been the guy that pushes my students to go love people

and be there for people that are hurting.

What I didn't see, is that just as important as it is

to go love people that need it,

it's important to be able to receive love.

When I found out I had cancer,

I kind of just didn't want anybody to know.

At the time I couldn't even tell what it was,

but at the time I was like

"I don't want anybody to worry over me".

The more I started to think about it, it was pride,

that I didn't want everybody coming around me going

"It will be ok little soldier!",

you know that kind of stuff.

I told myself, people say the weirdest things when you're hurting,

they all try to give you that perfect Twitter statement.

And that's like, I don't want to be in the middle of all that.

God had to speak to me, through my wife as He often does,

that the church is kind of important,

and you kind of need people around you.

And something I wanted to shut up and just be quiet about,

I had to tell the world;

and then I saw the body of Christ love me,

through prayer, through support, through goofy things at times and awkward moments,

but at the same time love me.

It just reminded me that we need each other,

and to be a lone ranger in a storm,

is a dangerous place to try and do that.

We need each other.

Student Financial Services: Don't Be Late To The Game - Duration: 3:26.

[MUSIC PLAYING]

MAYA: Hey, Andy, what's up?

ANDY: Hi, Maya. How are you?

MAYA: I'm good.

ANDY: It's another great Cougar football Saturday!

MAYA: But, Andy, it's Friday.

Why are we here?

ANDY: Because I love Cougar football.

I can't wait!

MAYA: Go, Cougs!

ANDY: Go, Cougs!

MAYA: Hey, Andy, this is my friend Britney.

She's going to be a Cougar next fall.

ANDY: Nice.

Very nice to meet you.

BRITNEY: Nice to meet you.

ANDY: Welcome to the Cougar family.

Oh, Maya, go deep.

Whoo, haven't warmed up yet.

BRITNEY: Yeah.

ANDY: So are you excited about coming here in the fall?

BRITNEY: Super excited.

ANDY: Oh, you're going love it here.

It's just great.

It'll be the best four years of your life.

Nice toss.

Maya, why does this football say October 1 on it?

That's kind of weird.

What's happening October 1st?

MAYA: Come on, man.

You need to get out more.

October 1st is when we can start filling out

the FAFSA Free Application for Federal Student Aid.

[CRICKETS]

ANDY: Well, that's cool.

MAYA: Yeah, it is cool.

ANDY: And what are of the new deadlines?

MAYA: Well, for returning Cougs like you

and me, our deadline's November 30th.

ANDY: OK.

BRITNEY: Well, what about me?

MAYA: That's a good question, Britney.

For new Cougs, like you, their deadline's

going to be January 31st.

However, we'd still recommend that you

get done as soon as possible.

ANDY: But wait a minute.

The FAFSA's based on me and my family's income, right?

How am I going to file a FAFSA before the year even ends?

I mean, my family hasn't even thought

about doing their taxes yet.

Are we supposed to just guess?

I mean, how much of this is right?

MAYA: Well, actually, let me tell you a story.

Back in the day--

MAYA, ANDY, BRITNEY: Doodley do, doodley do, doodley do, doodley do...

MAYA: Hey, Andy.

ANDY: Yeah, hold on.

What?

I'm trying to play Snake.

MAYA: Did you know FAFSA opens today, January 1, 1998?

You're going to fill yours out?

ANDY: Well, yeah, now that the year's over

and I've got my estimates done.

It'll be piece of cake.

MAYA: Nice!

[HANDS SLAP TOGETHER]

Sweet flashback.

Am I right?

Yeah, now you can fill out the FAFSA with your tax information

from the prior-prior year.

ANDY: Wait, prior-prior year?

Does that mean two years?

MAYA: Add it up, Coug.

Prior-prior means two years ago.

ANDY: Well, nice.

I've already got that information,

so I can just imput it.

That's easy.

Cool.

MAYA: Yeah.

And there's this thing called a data retrieval

tool that automatically imports information from your taxes

right to your FAFSA.

ANDY: Perfect.

BRITNEY: Yeah, so you should be able to get

it done with no problem.

MAYA: It's a new process for schools all across country.

Student Financial Services has a great website

with lots of resources.

I check it regularly.

ANDY: That's a good point.

I should check that stuff more regularly.

MAYA: They also are really good with social media

and post some great tips.

BRITNEY: Yeah, that's pretty cool.

I think I'm going to start following them, too.

MAYA: Yeah, you can always give them a call,

email them, or make an appointment

to speak with an advisor to get help.

ANDY: That's great information.

I feel like I'm prepared now for the new deadlines next year.

MAYA: Awesome.

BRITNEY: Only 28 more hours until the football game.

MAYA: Andy, go long,

[LAUGHS]

ANDY: You didn't throw it.

Rep. Ted Lieu DESTROYS Jeff Sessions In Hearing, "You're Either Lying Now, Or You Lied Then" - Duration: 5:27.

On Tuesday, Attorney General Jeff Sessions was called in front of the House Judiciary

Committee for reasons that, to be quite honest, are a little unclear.

They said the meeting, or the questioning, the hearing, whatever it is going to be, is

going to be more about oversight of the Department of Justice.

However, Republicans only used the opportunity to goad Jeff Sessions into launching an investigation

into Hillary Clinton and Bill Clinton and Uranium One and Barack Obama and, basically,

any Democrat who they've ever seen in their lives.

They were trying to push Jeff Sessions during this hearing to launch investigations into

them.

Jeff Sessions, to his credit, said "looks like" is not grounds for a full-blown investigation,

even though he had hinted the day before that he wanted to launch an investigation.

That's neither here nor there.

The big takeaway from Tuesday's hearing with Jeff Sessions happened when Democratic Representative

Ted Lieu decided to ask Jeff Sessions exactly how he was lying and, to be honest, when he

was lying.

Take a look.

As Attorney General, you have security clearance, correct?

Yes.

To get that security clearance, you submitted a security clearance application, also known

as an SF86 form, correct?

That's correct.

I submitted such a form when I served in active duty in the U.S. Air Force, and the form requires

you to certify under penalty of perjury that information submitted was true, complete and

correct to the best of your knowledge.

You certified your security clearance form, correct?

That is correct.

I'm going to, on the video screen, show you a question from that form, and it says, "Have

you or any of your immediate family in the past seven years had any contact with a foreign

government, its establishment, such as embassy, consulate, agency, military service, intelligence

or security service, etc., or its representatives, whether inside or outside the U.S.?"

The answer that you gave was "No."

What you just told us under oath was exactly the opposite.

I'm going to ask you, Mr. Sessions, were you lying then when you filled out the form, or

are you lying now?

What I was told by my executive assistant when we did this form earlier, and then again

when I was nominated for Attorney General, that the FBI authority says members of Congress

and effectively government officials, meeting people on an official basis, you were not

required to list all these contacts.

Nothing in that question says you get to answer any differently because you are a U.S. Senator

rather than, say, a young police officer.

Isn't that right?

Well, I-

Nothing in that question authorizes you to answer any differently, isn't that right?

I would say that-

I didn't go to law school.

I know a lot about the law, I work with a lot of lawyers.

What I will say is that it kind of seems like Representative Lieu just laid out the case

for perjury charges to be brought against Jeff Sessions.

It's pretty black and white right there on the screen.

He either lied then, or he is lying now.

We know that back when he had to testify in front of the Senate, Jeff Sessions had said,

"I had no contact with the Russians."

As it turns out, he had two contacts at least with Sergey Kislyak that he, oops, didn't

recall at the time.

Then later on, he said, no, nobody in the campaign had any kind of contact with anybody

other than those things, and it turns out that was a lie, because he was in that meeting

with Papadopoulos, where Papadopoulos said, "Hey, I've got Russians that want to meet

with us."

Jeff Sessions said, nah, it's probably a bad idea.

He didn't disclose that, either.

My guess is that, yeah, Jeff Sessions lied in that previous one and, to be honest, he's

probably also lying in the Tuesday hearing.

During the entire year, Jeff Sessions kept repeating the lines, "I do not recall.

I can't recall.

I don't recollect.

I don't remember."

That kind of seems like what somebody who's trying to cover up something would continue

to say, which is exactly the case of Jeff Sessions at this point.

Why some kind of investigation into Jeff Sessions hasn't begun is absolutely beyond me.

It also helps to explain why the Republicans in that hearing were so hell-bent on getting

Jeff Sessions to launch an investigation into Democrats.

They'll try anything at this point to pull away from the fact that, one, their President

is under investigation and, number two, the Department of Justice had, Attorney General

Jeff Sessions, has clearly lied under oath, he's lied on his forms and he's lying to the

American public at every possible chance he can get when he's under oath.

Those sound like crimes worthy

of investigation.

Koreans Can't Stop Crying After Seeing BTOB's Heartwarming Performance With A Deaf Fan

BTOB performed a special live performance and people cried once they realized the meaning behind it.

While November 11 is known by many Koreans as Pepero day, the date also marks South Koreas Physical Disability Day.

To help raise awareness about the day, BTOB performed their latest title track "Miss You" with a deaf fan.

As BTOB performed an acoustic rendition of the song, the fan interpreted their lyrics into sign language.

Some of the members performed their individual parts in sign language.

And the whole group ended the song by singing the chorus together with sign language.

BTOB had incorporated Korean sign language into their choreography, a bold philanthropical move for an idol group.

BTOBs long-time choreographer Doobu revealed that Sungjae actually came up with the idea!.

I used the signs for I miss you, I love you, and One year in the choreography after collecting opinions from the members.

The meaning of the title Miss You was transformed into a more tangible expression. — Doobu.

Fans couldnt get enough of the beautiful performance as their video went viral all over the world.

This is so beautiful @OFFICIALBTOB.

A-Line with GoPro Hero 6! - Whistler Bike Park 4K 60fps - Duration: 6:49.

I'm good to go

First ride with a hero fi.... or no sorry hero six! haha

This was filming one week before the Whistler bike park closed. I just got the hero six about three days earlier

These are the settings that I recorded this video with, I'm not too thrilled with the auto white balance

Here because of the way that the colors kind of shift around as it adjusts. So maybe I manually set white balance or even native

Might still be the best option

All right feeling pretty good

Feeling better than my first run

Yeah

All right

Just riding behind Wesley here. Conditions are so nice today, beautiful.

Let's pin it!

I've always been using the Superview mode in my videos for the last few months

So this video is going to look a little bit different since it's the Wide mode.

Oh, yeah

We're trying out the 4k 60 frames

wide mode

The first time using hero 6 on my gimbal. I did realize that the camera was pointed a little bit too far down than it

Should have been, so it can look a little bit awkward in a few shots.

The audio is coming from the Hero 4

with my Sennheiser mic

Oh frick, ok a bit over shooting there

Okay

All right, yeah, A-Line's running quite nice right now

Oh yeah, these berms suck

That felt good

better than the first run

We were like boosting, roostin'

yeah man, Boost and Roost!

Let's just do it, let's just do the lap

Get all sexy

Yeah

Alright

Really stoked on this hero 5 I have to say, er sorry Hero 6! I don't know why I keep calling it five

Hero 6, it is pretty sweet

At least the colors are way better than the Hero 5

No footer! ooh that was a pretty good no footer!

Right into the drop, Wesley just launches the whole thing! I'd love to do that

Maybe another day... Another day with a bigger bike

Alright, there's lots going good. Yeah, but if

All right

Whoo whoa get inside of me

His birth sucks poking it in there we go

Alright that is the great run down again

Whoo baby all right that was feeling great

That was so fun. Yeah, it was just a way just in case yeah, yeah

Wonder what the real a real chair guys

Yeah, that was better Oh, it's withered whoa yeah

Go

So I hope you like the video

I'm going to be posting another much longer

Video from the same footage from this day as you guys know I did get a new bike a DaVinci Wilson

And so this is actually the last day. I got filming with my narc or true acts that

Was great perfect, so enjoy it while it lasts

but after this on the next video that you'll see I will no longer be riding on mine or true acts but instead on my

DaVinci Wilson

Yeah, it's after that

You know when it goes into the open there. Yeah, I always catch up to you there. That's not even me

That's my place like I'm not breaking or anything well

yeah, I don't break either and I don't really I don't even know if I think I just read his pedal, but I

Always, just catch up to you there

How to Sharpen a Knife with a Whetstone – Sharpening Dull Kitchen Knife to Extremely Sharp - Duration: 2:27.

Sharpening your own knives is easy with a Whetstone sharpening kit.

They're typically two sided and have a course and fine texture like this one with 1000 and

6000 grit.

The beauty of a Whetstone is that you don't need oil to sharpen your blades.

Before each use, the Whetstone needs to be soaked in water.

You can see the air coming out of the stone as it absorbs the water.

Keep it submerged until the bubbles slow down or about 5 minutes.

Now it's ready to use.

Starting with the lowest grit which is 1000 on this stone, hold your knife at about a

15 degree angle and slide it away from you.

It only takes light pressure along the strokes.

You don't need to push too hard.

Gently slide from the tip to the base of the blade.

After about 12 to 15 strokes, flip the blade over and repeat on the other side.

Continue using gentle and even passes across the stone.

Remember to hold the blade at about a 15 degree angle which is about half the height of your

thumb.

I like to feel the blade to see if it's sharp enough.

At this point, I can flip the stone over and use the fine grit.

Most Whetstones come with a nice wooden base that do a good job to hold the stone in place

while sharpening.

Before starting again, you might need to add a bit more water to the surface.

Now with the fine grit, finish the sharpening process like before at the same blade angle

and consistent passes along the stone.

About 10 to 12 passes is good before switching to the other side of the blade.

At this point, the blade should be extremely sharp.

I'll just give a quick paper test here.

I can now slice paper quite easily with my knife.

This Whetstone also comes with plastic guide to help hold the blade at exactly a 15 degree

angle.

Handy for some people!

There are many Whetstones available but choosing one with a 1000 and 6000 grit is a good general

purpose stone for home use.

I hope you found this video helpful and if you did please give me a thumbs up and don't

forget to subscribe to my channel TheRenderQ for more how-to videos and product reviews.

How Suicidal Tendencies Spread Through Families and Classrooms - Duration: 4:33.

So we focus attention on some of the behaviors on the very dark side of the spectrum of hopefulness

and optimism, which is suicidal behaviors.

When we dug into that literature, we saw the importance of suicide as a cause of death

for young people, and for teenagers it's the number two cause of death for, I think,

ages 15 to 19 in the United States.

A lot of the scholarship that's focused on suicide has focused on individual risk

factors—both genetics and the presence of physical and emotional pain—and what we

wanted to do is think a little bit broader about social contagion and social processes

related to suicide.

Processes of social contagion and suicide have also been understudied because social

contagion and social processes for adolescent suicide often come up in the news when a celebrity

commits suicide, and there are public policies for the media not to report celebrity suicides

in order to not have spikes of adolescents committing suicide as copycatting.

More recently the media has being trained that if there is a celebrity suicide to report

the story but also report hotlines and information for adolescents who are feeling the same way.

So there's a lot of public policy interest in the potential for contagion and suicide.

So we focused some attention on that in our study, too.

So what we did was we surveyed data that had information on suicide, and to think about

social processes, we found data that had not just your own suicidal attempts or suicidality

but also whether or not family members had recently committed suicide.

And our thinking was in order to trace a social process we wanted to see, in some sense, patient

zero—which would be a family member having committed suicide—and then trace that through

an adolescent social network.

So we measured family suicides that occurred in a previous year.

We examined the impact on the adolescents in the families that had family suicides,

but then we pivoted and asked the question: do those family processes spill over into

the classroom?

So we examined the impact of having a classmate who had a family member commit suicide in

the last year.

And, again, we found very large effects that seemed to work through having a classmate's

family member commit suicide, affecting the classmate him or herself, it then spills over

into the classroom on the suicidal behaviors of those who are not directly affected.

And the other surprising finding in that study was that these pathways between a family member

committing suicide, an adolescent increasing their suicidality and then spilling over into

the classroom is that that process only follows gender lines, meaning that if I'm a female

student in a classroom it only matters to me whether females in my classroom had family

members who've committed suicide.

Having males in my classroom who had family members commit suicide does not affect my

suicidality.

So it's a very intriguing and surprising finding.

It says something both on the potential for spillovers for contagion in suicide but also

that it's a little bit more complicated because once it moves into the classroom I

think these suicide contagions take advantage of preexisting networks where girls are friends

with girls and boys are friends with boys inside classrooms, and when a bad thing happens

to a classmate's family then that news and those effects seem to travel on gender-specific

lines.

And similar to the child abuse examination where we found that family members or family

processes spilled into the classroom, there's a policy implication here that successful

suicide prevention programs have this potential for spilling over on people who aren't treated

themselves or who aren't intervened on themselves.

If you can successfully prevent a suicide in a family member that actually reduces the

likelihood of a suicide attempt in both the adolescent in the family but also the adolescent's

classmates.

So again this has the possibility of a larger bang for your buck where you spend money to

reduce suicide or spend money to prevent suicide in a single family but you gain the benefits

of both the family and the classmates of the family.

NASA Confirms 15 Days Of DARKNESS On Earth Begins TODAY - Fake News Debunked - Duration: 2:50.

The internet can't seem to stop talking about a collision between Jupiter and venus

that will plunge earth into 15 days of Darkness.

And seeing as this is IO, and we love a good apocalypse story, obviously we're going

to talk about it.

What is good apocalyptic potatoes, this is IO and I'm back at it again with another

doomsday prophecy.

Its not that we want the world to end, I personally like the world.

By the way, I'm charlotte, and on this channel we talk about things that are trending.

And whats trending right now is an upcoming 15 days of darkness.

Alright so, according to NASA, most specifically Charles Boden, theres going to be a very rare

astronomical event, where venus and Jupiter, the two brightest objects in the night sky,

will engage in a close parallelism, only being separated by one degree.

Otherwise saying, its going to look like venus and Jupiter are colliding in the night sky,

and you're going to be able to see it without a telescope.

Pretty cool right?

So conspiracy theorists are taking this astronomical mumbo jumbo, yes I just said mumbo jumbo and

they are confusing people, and saying that nasa 'confirmed' that there will be 15

days of darkness between November 15th and novemver 29th.

There will be darkness, during that 15 day period, but that darkness will come at night

time.

Some of these conspiracy theorists are even publishing false statements, that they claim

was made by NASA.

One statement in particular said the following: Nasa has confirmed that the earth will experience

15 days of total darkness between November 15th and November 29th 2017.

So if you came across this video expecting me to tell you that the world is going to

end, well im sorry but its not.

Wanna know how I know?

So go by the window, look outside.

Is it dark?

No?

Ok.

Theres your proof.

Obviously that proof isn't going to be valid if you're watching this video at night,

but you get what I mean.

Im not really sure why there are so many conspiracy theorist that take rare astronomical events

and trun them into doomsday prophecies.

It probably has something to do with the fact that it drives traffic on their website and

youtube channels.

Because lets face it, you all freak out whenever theres a new doomsday prophecy.

Its like, you know it cant be true, the logical side of your brain tells you its not true,

but you wanna click the video, just to make sure.

Or maybe you just wanna click the video to troll us and say OMG IO NOT AGAIN, HOW MANY

TIMES HAVE YOU SAID THE WORLD IS GOING TO END.

Dat one lit girl tho – No that's wrong because I calculated that a big giant potato

would end the world.

Breaking news, welcome back to IO, according to dat one lit girl though, a big giant potato

is going to crash into the earth.

Taffy powel – Hi charlotte you look amazing in every one of your videos tell us your secret

please.

Beauty sleep is the key.

And potatoes.

Welcome to the end scree, thanks for watching the whole video, if you liked this video,

Gift Ideas For Audiophiles - Duration: 4:05.

Hi guys!

The holiday season is upon us, so I figured now would be a good time to talk about gift

ideas!

So, audio gear can be very expensive, and that can make it tough for those of us that

are audio obsessed to come up with a decent wish list during the holidays.

The challenge is always to find things that you like and want, that aren't so crazy

expensive that no one can or should buy you that as a gift.

So, with that in mind, I've made a list of (mostly) reasonably priced gifts for audio

nerds.

 Here we go!

So, first on my list is the Photive Bluetoooth Speaker.

I actually have this speaker myself, and received it as a gift about two and a half

years ago.

It's great, it's reliable, the batteries are still holding charge for a long time after

two and a half years, and it's waterproof and sturdy.

I use this speaker in the shower everyday, and I've brought it on trips and to the

beach and a few snowboarding trips.

So, I've definitely put it through the wringer, and it's still functioning great,

and it sounds good too!

 So, I recommend it!

Second on my list is a gift card to a music service of some sort.

So, for example, the Spotify gift card.

This one is great for your personal wish list, since the giver can choose exactly how

much to give.

It's also great if you're buying for someone else that loves audio and music, because

if you pick a service they like, even if they already have the service, they can apply the

gift card amount to their account.

So, you just have to make sure they will like the service, you don't have to really

know if they have it already or not.

Third on my list is a nice headphone stand.

This is a good one because it can really spruce up your studio space, it keeps you

organized, and it helps keep your headphones safe.

It also seems to be the type of thing that a lot of audio people might have skipped over

while setting up their home space, so they might not have something like this already.

Anyway, I'll put links in the description to a couple of headphone stands that I think

look good, including one that is designed to hang on the underside of your desk, and

one that's similar to this one that I have in my studio (even though it's not the same

one that I have, I got mine from a guy that makes them at an audio convention).

The fourth thing on my list is any sort of music or audio themed phone case.

Everyone seems to have a smartphone these days, and most people are happy to swap up

their phone case every so often, so a new phone case along a theme that someone loves

is usually a good idea.

I'll put links in the description to a couple of phone cases that I found that look

cool, but you can also search for some on your own for whatever phone type you need

to buy for.

I found some fun cases, like one that looks like a mixtape that you can get custom text

on, and others that look like amps or gear types, like Marshall and Orange amps.

So, check out my links below, and go searching for the right one for you or the person you're

shopping for!

Ok, number five is a list of more practical

ideas, that may be less exciting to the average person.

But, when we have a studio of any sort, there are certain things that we run out of

or break more frequently.

Now, what you might get for this will depend on what instruments people play, and what

type of studio you, or they, have.

But some of my ideas include gaff tape, board tape, XLR cables, guitar picks and strings,

throat coat tea, or even a cool looking music manuscript book if their process includes

writing music the traditional way.

The sixth idea on my list is any sort of art or coffee table books that are music or audio

themed.

So, a couple of these are books that I've mentioned in previous videos, so I won't

dwell too long on these, but some of my favorite ones are, "Musicophilia" which is a great

book about music and neurology, or any of Sylvia Massy's books, which I'll put links

to in the description.

I also have this cool art book called Vox that I recommend, which has a kind of anime/comic

book style, and most of the art has music gear included in it to some extent.

If you, or whoever you're buying for, likes this style of art, it's a great choice!

And a book that will be on my wish list this year is the "1000 Record Covers"

book, which looks awesome.

Ok, and finally, for number seven, I'm going

to the more fun, toy side of things - If you, or whoever you're buying the gift for, seems

interested in dabbling with DJing a little (maybe at your parties with friends, they

always get into picking the music?), then you could get a mini DJ mixer of some sort.

I'll put a link in the description to a kind of fancier one that I've had people

bring to my parties to DJ for me, but I'll also include a couple of smaller, much cheaper

pocket size DJ mixers that are more on the fun toy side of things that you can check

out.

Ok, so that's it for today!

I hope you guys liked this video, and let me know what you guys think in the comments

below!

For today's question, I want to know:  What's on your wish list for the holidays

this year?

Please leave your answers in the comments below!

Also, if you like this video, please hit the little like button, share the video, or subscribe

to my channel I'll be coming out with new videos every other Wednesday, and thanks for

watching!

and I've noticed, that when I do put plugins on my list (since they're sometimes cheaper),

non audio people don't seem comfortable buying them or something, so no one seems

to get me those...…..
