One day I woke up and I was 25 years old

with three kids by myself, a widow[er].

And I needed to decide what else I'm doing in life,

like how I move on.

It was basically a sort of regular day.

I woke up early, I brought the kids to kindergarten,

I dropped them all off and then I went to pray

and then I came and I saw that Merav wasn't home.

Time was passing, 9:00, 10:00

and I didn't know what was going on,

so I called Merav's mother and she said,

"Don't worry, she probably just went..."

She used to go a lot to hike

then about another couple hours,

Merav's family started to get involved

and her brother was looking for her

and I was trying to figure out where she was.

I went to where she was working and she wasn't there

and they got the army involved and they were

doing search teams and I was at home with the kids.

10:00 at night in walked the mayor of the municipality

and they said, "Come sit down," they said.

The army found Merav

and she died.

What happened was that she went for a walk

next to our house, we live on a nature reserve

and she fell from a high point, she hit her head

and that's when they told me that Merav died.

I went into the kids' room

and I lied down with them for a while.

It wasn't just a tough period,

it was like a developing period where in the beginning

it was just like a huge shock.

I figured like I'm in this new situation

and I gotta figure out what we're doing now

and I gotta focus on the kids just so that

they don't get super screwed up from this.

I had a five year old, a three year old,

and a one year old, which was five and a half years ago

so I pretty much raised them and they came out awesome.

Three kids and my kids are amazing.

Each one of then is amazing.

These are the three of them.

This is (speaking in Hebrew)

and my niece, Zoe Merav, she's named after my wife.

When people asked me how I got through tragedy,

in my mind I just don't understand how life works

and that's fine for me

because I don't understand a lot of things

and there's something comforting in that

where you're not in control of everything,

basically recognizing the fact that we're not in control

is something that is strengthening.

What's important is how we live life now

and what you do with life.

I'm raising three kids by myself.

I'm finishing up my MBA,

I work in high tech in Jerusalem and I'm a partner

in a vineyard and winery.

I have an amazing life I think.

I'm blessed and I thank God every day for who I am

and hopefully I'll get even better.

The best therapy for me was driving to work everyday

listening to music in the car,

I would sing along, yell along.

♪ No one ever said it would be this hard ♪

It was better than any other therapy

that I tried to go through other times.

I love this legging so much.

Anyway, after that I'm going to the city with Kristina.

Also got some more work to do. So that's the plan for today!

I'm heading to Dordrecht now, where I'll meet up with Kristina.

We're going for a tiny little shopping spree, mainly for makeup.

Hey, just got home. Didn't film much today, but I do have a little haul for you guys.

Not a very interesting one, but I'll show you anyway.

Toothpaste

Pencils, to use in my new diary. A pencil sharpener and some erasers to go with them.

I got a new hairdryer, which is travel size, really handy.

A Syoss hair mask which I want to try.

I also got some makeup. A mascara by Lóreal.

Eyebrow gel by Max Factor.

And a concealer by NYX

That's it! Going to make some dinner now.

Hey, we're watching Krampus right now, and after that I'm going to sleep.

Good morning everybody! I just worked for an hour, getting up for some breakfast now and do some more work.

After that I'm hitting the gym. Upper body this time.

DIY How to make Christmas tree out of paper doilies (ENG Subtitles) - Speed up #434 - Duration: 3:09.

Hi. Today I will show you how to make Christmas tree out of paper doilies.

Detailed list of all needed items is in the description of this video.

Fold a doily in a half and again in a half.

Cut off 1/4 of it.

Glue the edges.

Cut off an end of the tip of tree.

Do the same with other sizes of doilies.

Take the smallest doily and cut off the borders.

Now do the same as with previous doilies.

Wrap a piece of doily around the end of wooden skewer.

Put the smallest piece on the wooden skewer.

Add a small styrofoam ball...

...and glue it to the doily.

Add another doily and a styrofoam ball.

Add 3 more layers. They should be set from the smallest one to the biggest one.

Put styrofoam inside a jar and wrap the jar by using tissue paper.

Put wooden skewer in styrofoam.

Secure the tissue paper by using ribbon.

Attach a ribbon bow to the tip of tree.

And it's done.

This Christmas tree is a cool decoration which you can put on desktop, table or on a cabinet.

You can use more sizes of doilies or less of them.

It was constructed on an artificial island in order to ease the congestion at Osaka Airport.

There is also an airport hotel for transiting passengers to get some rest and as expected

excellent free wi-fi throughout the two terminals.

8: London Heathrow Airport.

Holding the eight spot is the massive main airport at London Heathrow.

The airport scores particularly well because of the ease of transfer to down town London

and around the huge 5 terminals of the airport.

Heathrow had a reputation for lost luggage and delayed flights in the past but all of

this has now changed and travellers rate it highly for ease of check-in and punctuality

of arrival and departure.

This is no mean feat when the fact that it caters for 75 million passengers a year is

considered.

7: Zurich Airport.

Zurich airport is the largest International airport in Switzerland and is located 13 km

North of Zurich.

The airport is well served by transfer options to Zurich and other Swiss and European cities.

Zurich Airport serves nearly 26 Million travellers annually and is rated at seventh best airport

in the world because of its efficiency and top class facilities.

These include a wide range of restaurant options, superfast wi-fi, children's' play areas

and passenger showers.

Schengen and non-Schengen arriving passengers are handled in separate areas which makes

the migration and security seamless and efficient.

6: Centrair Airport.

Centair Airport in Nagoya serves the third largest metropolitan area in Japan.

Haneda Airport is the main civilian airport which provides for the population of Tokyo.

given that Christmas has practically already arrived,

i wanted to do a 'Christmas Tag'

that way I can answer to some of your questions

on how us Americans celebrate Christmas

and how Christmas is in the States

let's begin!

when do you start to get in the Christmas spirit?

i'm always in the Christmas spirit!

but, the truth is

after about the 3rd Thursday in November

because

that's Thanksgiving Day in the States

and right after Thanksgiving,

we start listening to Christmas music, see Christmas lights, etc

Do you still use an Advent Calendar?

I don't do it here in Italy

but

We have it at my Mom's house back in the States

we have an Advent calendar that we hang on the wall

and every day we put a little piece up on the calendar

they're like pieces of stuffed fabric

and we stick it on the calendar

which are your favorite Christmas films?

I have 2

that I watch every year

it's like tradition

the first is

'The Santa Clause'

I think that's the title also in Italian

with Tim Allen

and Miracle on 34th St

Do you have any fun memories from Christmas?

yes! when I was little,

and I still believed in Santa Clause

I hope none of you still believe in Santa Clause,

because if so, I'm sorry! (I may have just ruined it for you)

On Christmas Eve, I'd always prepare Reindeer Food

I don't really remember what went in the food,

but I do remember there was Glitter!

inside of this food

and every Christmas Eve night,

before going to bed,

I would sprinkle the food on the grass outside

and in the morning, it was gone

so, Santa's Reindeers must've eaten it all

Tell us about your typical Christmas Day

I always wake up pretty early on Christmas morning

we start our morning with a little bit of coffee or tea

on the couch

and then we start with the stockings

it's our tradition

we put small little things in the stockings

small little gifts, like nail polish, creams, markers etc

things you would never buy yourself but they're fun to receive!

so we begin our morning with opening the stockings

and then we continue with normal gifts under the tree

and then we have brunch

so we have a nice big breakfast

and then

nothing, really

usually we go eat Chinese

and then go to the movies

this is a typical Christmas Day, for us!

What do you eat for Christmas lunch?

In the past, we used to eat

a big turkey, with sides like veggies, mashed potatoes etc

we practically ate a very similar meal to that on Thanksgiving Day

My family and I don't eat meat anymore

so now we have a brunch

we make eggs benedict

we also make cinnamon rolls from scratch!

i don't know how to say that in Italian

i'll put a picture so you can see

this is what we eat!

so for us it's more of a breakfast/brunch than lunch

and then we eat Chinese...go figure!

Do you have any special Christmas traditions?

yes! the stockings

we always begin with the stockings

we put little gifts inside

and usually, i'm not sure when we started this, but

we go to the movies in the afternoon

because usually in the States, a lot of the good movies come out ON Christmas Day!

Christmas Tree: Real or Fake?

this one here is fake

because it's much easier with our kitten

our kitten still wants to eat and jump on everything

so this year we got a fake tree

last year

we got a small real tree

and growing up, we always got real trees

Have you ever built a snowman?

YES!

Do you prefer knowing in advance

what you're going to get?

or do you love surprises?

come on, I love surprises!

I actually hate knowing what I'm going to be getting

always

Usually my mom isn't too good at keeping surprises...

and I ALWAYS find out

and say 'Nooo, why!?'

So, I prefer to be surprised! Always

Pan d'Oro or Panettone?

Panettone!

delicious!

What do you do in your home, decorate the Christmas Tree or have the Nativity scene?

Tree!

We don't do the Nativity scene in our house,

so for us, the big thing has always been to decorate the tree

and put all of the ornaments on

Do you use e-mail, e-cards, text messages, or real paper cards to send your Christmas wishes?

When I was little,

I always would handwrite cards

I love writing, and going to the store to pick out the cards,

it's special

to receive something in the mail

but

unfortunately, with technology,

that we have today,

I now send more text messages, WhatsApp

and I also make phone calls especially to my family members

Do you get emotional during Christmas?

yes

For me, Christmas is a wonderful thing because

it's an 'excuse'

to be all together

and today, many have their family dispersed all over the place

for example, I'm here in Rome, my mom is in Vermont, my dad is in California, my grandparents are in Texas

so it's a nice occasion to celebrate something all together

I think people, unfortunately, take this for granted

do you say this?

so when I'm together with my family,

during the holidays,

I have to remember to not take this for granted!

because anything can change in an instant

so for me, Christmas is a wonderful time of the year!
