Love your brother as you love yourself,

unconditionally.

What is the color of your car?

How much money do you have?

You want to know everything.

Korean gov't to promote software industry and tackle growing gambling industry - Duration: 2:22.

The Korean government plans to promote the country's software industry,... which will

play an important role in the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon also outlined the government's plans to tackle Korea's gambling

industry... which is growing at an alarming rate.

Our Ji Myung-kil has more.

Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon on Thursday... said it was necessary to provide the right

job training and education to foster job creation in the software sector.

(Korean) "It is important for the government to create

an environment for the younger generation where they can experiment using their imagination

and creativity, which is key to the success of the software industry."

He also said jobs like industrial software programmers, games programmers, and data analysts

will serve as new career opportunities for younger people.

According to Korea's Software Policy and Research Institute,... the country's software industry

reached nearly 4-billion U.S. dollars this year and is growing by 1-hundred-million dollars

every year.

Therefore, the government also plans to construct models to predict how the Fourth Industrial

Revolution would affect software jobs in the future.

Prime Minister Lee also noted the alarming growth rate of gambling and other adult entertainment

businesses.

(Korean) "Korea's gambling industry is showing signs

of overheating.

The industry is expanding 6-point-3 percent every year."

He said it was important to eradicate corruption, especially in sports gambling,... referring

to match-fixing scandals which have struck professional sports players in recent years,...

and called for greater attention from law enforcement authorities.

According to the prime minister's office,... Korea's gambling and lottery industry has

grown by more than 18-billion dollars for two consecutive years,... with gambling addiction

reaching over 5-percent, which is over two times higher than the OECD average of around

2-percent.

Therefore, the government plans to strengthen monitoring of casinos, horse racing, traditional

bull fighting, and lotteries, and promote socially responsible practices.

USA Today's Epic Takedown Of Donald Trump - Duration: 9:32.

THE EDITORIAL BOARD AT USA TODAY HAS PUT OUT AN

INCREDIBLY AGGRESSIVE PIECE DENOUNCING AND REJECTING

DONALD TRUMP.

IT IS THE MOST AGGRESSIVE EDITORIAL PIECES I HAVE

EVER SEEN IN REGARD TO THE PRESIDENT AND I WANT TO SHARE.

THIS WAS WRITTEN AFTER TRUMP ATTACKED SEN.

IN A TWEET.

HE ESSENTIALLY ARGUE THAT SHE WOULD DO ANYTHING INCLUDING

SEXUAL FAVORS FOR CAMPAIGN MONEY.

THE EDITORIAL BOARD FELT LIKE THIS GUY IS BOTTOM OF THE

BARREL, IT IS TIME TO REALLY SPEAK OUR MINDS ABOUT IT.

I'M GOING TO READ YOU THE RELEVANT PARTS BUT I HIGHLY

RECOMMEND YOU READ THE ENTIRE PIECE.

>>WOW, SHOTS FIRED.

I HAVE NEVER SEEN AN EDITORIAL LIKE THAT.

I HAVE NEVER SEEN AN EDITORIAL THAT STRONG IN A MAINSTREAM

NEWSPAPER IN AMERICA, AND IT IS NOT JUST A RANDOM EDITORIAL

BY ONE PERSON, IT IS THE EDITORIAL BOARD.

KEEP IN MIND THAT IS SEPARATE FROM THE ARTICLES.

THE ARTICLES ARE FACT-BASED AND OBJECTIVE, AT LEAST THEY

ARE SUPPOSED TO BE.

THE EDITORIAL BOARD IS SUPPOSED TO SAY SOMETIMES THE BACK BUSH

OR OBAMA DEPENDING ON THE ELECTIONS, BUT NOW THEY ARE

GOING NO WE HAVE TO SPEAK OUT AND AS FORCEFULLY AS POSSIBLE TO

HAVE YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT AN INTOLERABLE GUY WE HAVE IN

THE OFFICE.

ANA HAS MORE.

>>THE FIRST PART WAS PRETTY EPIC.

187 ON A MOTHER FUCKING FLOP.

LET'S GIVE YOU MORE.

>>DON'T TAKE THIS THE WRONG WAY I'M JUST SAYING POLITICALLY.

NEXT.

>> AND THEN THEY GET INTO THIS LIST, A LIST OF ALL THE

TERRIBLE THINGS TRUMP HAS MANAGED TO DO OR SAY WHILE

HE HAS BEEN PRESIDENT.

SO THIS WAS A CRITICISM OF TRUMP EARLY ON AND THAT CRITICISM IS

SOMETHING YOU ARE HERE TOO MUCH ABOUT THESE DAYS.

HE HAS STILL FAILED TO NOMINATE MANY PEOPLE IN KEY

POSITIONS IN GOVERNMENT BECAUSE HE IS A CLOWN.

>> AS I TOLD YOU HE IS INCOMPETENT AND HE DOESN'T

CARE TO DO THE JOB.

ALL HE WANTS TO DO IS WATCH EIGHT HOURS OF TV A DAY AND THAT

IS WHY THEY PUT IN ALL THE MEMOS HIS NAME ALL OVER THE PLACE

SO HE WILL PAY ATTENTION.

1200 KEY POSITIONS, WHO WAS THAT FOR?

FOR THE AMERICAN PEOPLE?

ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A CONSERVATIVE YOU WANTED TO

FILL THOSE POSITIONS BUT HE IS TOO LAZY TO DO IT BECAUSE

IT IS NOT ABOUT HIM.

>> POLITICO AND MORNING CONSOL DID A POLL WHICH FOUND THAT 50%

OF THE AMERICAN ELECTORATE BELIEVE THE SEXUAL ASSAULT

CLAIMS THAT HAVE BEEN MADE AGAINST DONALD TRUMP.

HALF VOTERS BELIEVE THE WOMEN WHO HAVE COME FORWARD AND

SAID THEY HAVE BEEN SEXUALLY ASSAULTED OR HARASSED BY

DONALD TRUMP.

THEN YOU LOOK AT CURRENT POLL NUMBERS WHICH ARE NOT

LOOKING GOOD FOR HIM.

I'M GIVING YOU THIS INFORMATION TO PUT EVERYTHING INTO CONTEXT.

IT'S NOT LIKE USA TODAY'S EDITORIAL BOARD IS ALONE IN

THEIR FRUSTRATIONS OVER THE PRESIDENT.

THIS ADDS A LITTLE MORE EVIDENCE TO THE ARGUMENTS THAT THE

EDITORIAL BOARD AT USA TODAY IS MAKING.

THE WAY THIS WAS WRITTEN WAS FAR MORE AGGRESSIVE THAN

ANYTHING ELSE I HAVE SEEN AN ESTABLISHMENT MEDIA AND IT

WAS BALLSY.

I APPLAUD THEM FOR IT.

>> DID YOU SAY BALLSY?

>>I DID NOT

>>I REMEMBER THE USA TODAY HAVING A SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT

POSITION WHICH I CHARACTERIZE IN A SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT WAY

BACK IN THE DAY.

LET'S WATCH.

>> SHOW THE GOD DAMN PAPER RIGHT HERE OKAY.

PICTURE HEADLINE, USA, BUSH SUCKS.

USA TODAY YOU SUCK BALLS.

YOU KNOW WHAT HE DID IN THE PRESS CONFERENCE YESTERDAY?

HE LIED OVER AND OVER ABOUT HOW THIS IS A WAR BETWEEN AL

QAEDA AND IRAQ.

IS A WAR BETWEEN SHIITES AND SUNNIS, A CIVIL WAR THAT WE

ARE STUCK IN.

USA SAFER BUSH SAYS ñ THAT IS A

LIE.

>> SOME OF YOU KNOW THAT CLIP.

MY MAIN CHARGE BACK THEN WAS THEY CALLED EVERYTHING EVEN.

THEY ARE STILL MAKING THAT MISTAKE TO SOME DEGREE HERE.

IF BUSH SAID IT IS AL QAEDA VERSUS US AND IRAQ, EVEN THOUGH

IT WAS DEMONSTRABLY FALSE THEY WOULD PUT ON A GIANT HEADLOCK.

70% OF AMERICANS THOUGHT SADDAM HUSSEIN HAD PERSONALLY

ATTACKED US ON 9/11 AND THAT WASN'T TRUE.

NOW THIS EDITORIAL MAKES A SITUATION COME FULL CIRCLE.

AS THEY SAID IN THE EDITORIAL THIS MAN IS UNIQUELY AWFUL.

LET ME GIVE YOU ONE MORE QUOTE FROM TODAY.

I ACTUALLY DON'T AGREE WITH THAT, I THINK THE ACTIONS OF

BUSH LED TO A LOT MORE PEOPLE DYING, HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF

PEOPLE DYING IN IRAQ AND THE WORLD IN TURMOIL LET ALONE THE

ECONOMIC CRASH THAT COST US 8 MILLION JOBS ETC.

I DEFINITELY QUESTION THE DECENCY OF DICK CHENEY AND

GEORGE BUSH.

IN SOME WAYS THE ESTABLISHMENT IS JUST USING TRUMP AS THE

ONE EXCEPTION.

I LIKE THE WAY THEY ARE TREATING THEM BECAUSE THEY ARE DOING

TRUTH TO POWER BUT I WISH THAT IT WOULD BE THE EXCEPTION AND

THAT IT WOULD BE THE RULE.

I ONE OF THEM TO CHALLENGE OBAMA A LOT MORE.

SO HOLD THEM ALL TO ACCOUNT.

THIS IS A WONDERFUL FIRST STEP BUT IF YOU LEAVE IT AT THIS

AND GO BACK TO BUSINESS AS USUAL THEN YOU HAVE LEARNED

NOTHING FROM THIS EXERCISE.

I HOPE IT IS NOT JUST BECAUSE HE IS SUFFERING IN THE POLLS

THAT YOU GATHERED UP THE COURAGE TO DO THIS.

32% IS UNIQUELY MISERABLE FOR A PRESIDENT.

I HOPE IT STICKS AND FROM HERE ON OUT I CAN SAY CONTINUE TO SAY

THAT USA TODAY IS BALLSY, RATHER THAN SUCKING BALLS.

World War 3: Taiwan 'ready for WAR' with China after quick military response to threats - Duration: 5:30.

World War 3: Taiwan 'ready for WAR' with China after quick military response to threats

On Monday, Chinese jets carried out island encirclement patrols around Taiwan, with state media showing pictures of bombers armed with cruise missiles.

Taiwan presidential spokesman Alex Huang said the defence ministry kept a close watch on the patrols and responded immediately and properly. Mr Huang said: "Taiwan can ensure there are no concerns at all about national security, and people can rest assured.

Such a raised military posture that may impact upon and harm regional peace and stability and cross-strait ties does not give a feeling of responsibility, and the international community does not look favourably upon this.".

He added that both sides of the narrow Taiwan Strait, which separates Taiwan from its giant neighbour, have a responsibility to protect peace and stability. Taiwan denounced the rise in Chinas military deployments as irresponsible.

China considers self-ruled and democratic Taiwan to be its sacred territory and has never renounced the use of force to bring what it views as a wayward province under Chinese control.

Relations have soured considerably since Tsai Ing-wen, who leads Taiwans independence-leaning Democratic Progressive Party, won presidential elections last year.

China suspects Tsai wants to declare the islands formal independence, a red line for Beijing. Tsai says she wants to maintain peace with China but will defend Taiwans security.

Taiwan is well equipped with mostly US weapons but has been pressing for more advanced equipment to deal with what it sees as rising threat from China.

Although the United States has no formal ties with Taiwan it is bound by law to help it defend itself and is its main source of arms.

On Tuesday US President Donald Trump signed into law the National Defence Authorisation Act for the 2018 fiscal year, which authorises the possibility of mutual visits by navy vessels between Taiwan and the United States.

Such visits would be the first since the United States ended formal diplomatic relations with Taiwan in 1979 and established ties with Beijing.

It comes after a senior Chinese diplomat threatened to invade Taiwan if the state tries to gain independence or if a US warship visits the island.

Diplomat Li Kexin said at a Chinese embassy event in Washington on Friday that China would activate its Anti-Secession Law if the US sent navy ships to Taiwan.

According to Chinese media, Li said: "The day that a US Navy vessel arrives in Kaohsiung is the day that our People's Liberation Army unifies Taiwan with military force.".

The Anti-Secession law allows it to use force on Taiwan if deemed necessary to prevent the island from gaining independence.

Influential Chinese tabloid the Global Times, published by the ruling Communist Party's official People's Daily, said China would never back down over Taiwan.

In an editorial, the paper said: "The Chinese mainland has never given up the option of Taiwan reunification by force, which is clear to people across the Taiwan Strait.

"Li's words have sent a warning to Taiwan and drew a clear red line.

If Taiwan attempts to hold an independence referendum or other activities in pursuit of de jure 'Taiwan independence', the PLA will undoubtedly take action." Earlier this year, the US issued a stark warning that it would not accept China's militarisation of man-made islands in the South China Sea.

Chinas territorial claims in the South China Sea – through which about £3.9trillion in ship-borne trade passes each year – are contested by Brunei, Malaysia, the Philippines, Taiwan and Vietnam.

Trump downplays Republican loss in Alabama Senate seat race - Duration: 1:35.

U.S. President Donald Trump is looking to save a little face after the Republicans'

shock defeat in a key Senate election in the deep-red state of Alabama.

Trump says he knew Roy Moore would lose... and stressed the loss will not affect his

agenda.

Park Se-young has more.

"I was right " President Trump said in a predawn tweet Wednesday, …a day after Democrat Doug

Jones's victory over the Republican Roy Moore.

Trump defended his decision to initially back Luther Strange against Moore, ...saying he

was right in thinking that Moore would not have been able to win the General Election.

Despite warnings from senior GOP officials, the president endorsed the ultra-conservative

Moore, who has been mired in numerous sexual misconduct allegations, including those against

under-age girls.

Jones became the first Democrat in 25 years to take the Alabama Senate seat, narrowing

the Republican majority in the Senate to 51 to 49, …and putting a potential dent into

Trump's legislative plans.

President Trump told reporters at the White House that although he would have liked Moore

to win, he doesn't think the loss will affect his administration's agenda.

(English) "I don't think it's going to affect it.

I think we're doing a lot.

This is the biggest thing that we've worked on.

This also has to do with other subjects."

Jones will not likely be seated until January, which means the Republican Party still has

time to pass its tax-cut bill and vote on any year-end budget deals.

In the middle of the night

When our hopes and fears collide

In the midst of all goodbyes

Where all human beings lie

Against another lie

Whisper broken promises

There we hide

Try to make it seem alright

What goes around again

We'd be running from the pain

Finding shelter in the rain

Lovers straying seasons changing

Strangers to lovers

What comes around again

You'd fall asleep in my embrace

Steal a kiss on your little face

Would have always been that way

But hey

You're never coming back

Never coming back

I'll be waiting anyway

I'll be waiting anyway

Until the day

In the middle of the night

Lonely souls travel in time

Familiar hearts start to entwine

We imagine what we'll find

In another life

Whisper broken promises

There we hide

Try to make it seem alright

What goes around again

We'd be running from the pain

Finding shelter in the rain

Lovers straying seasons changing

Strangers to lovers

What comes around again

We'd be playing in the sand

Holding hands just one last chance

No more hurts no more goodbyes

White House says now is not right time for talks with North Korea - Duration: 1:57.

The White House says NO dialogue can take place between the United States and North

Korea... until the regime changes its behavior.

This completely contradicts an earlier remark by Secretary of State Rex Tillerson,... who

said Washington was ready to hold talks... at any time... and without preconditions.

Yu Joonhee reports.

A spokesperson for the White House National Security Council told Reuters on Wednesday,...

that "now is not the time" for negotiations with North Korea... given its recent ballistic

missile test.

On the same day,...

State Department spokesperson Heather Nauert also said...

there would have to be a "period of calm"... in which the regime suspends all weapons testing...

before any dialogue can resume.

This is raising questions... over Secretary of State Rex Tillerson's earlier comments...

where he said the U.S. was ready to hold talks with Pyongyang at any time without preconditions.

Tillerson's offer appeared to signal... a shift away from Washington's demand that no

dialogue with North Korea can take place... without including discussions over its denuclearization.

The White House declined to comment... whether President Trump, who's taken a more hardline

stance regarding the issue,... had approved Tillerson's overture.

Tillerson's relationship with the president has been strained recently,... with the pair

sending conflicting messages... regarding the administration's North Korea policy.

Tillerson's influence within the cabinet has diminished as a result,... with reports emerging

last month,... that Trump was considering a plan to remove him from his administration.

There has been constant speculation of a growing rift between the pair... ever since President

Trump tweeted in October... that Tillerson was "wasting his time" pursuing diplomacy

with North Korea.

But regardless of Tillerson's offer of dialogue,... Pyongyang may not be willing to sit down for

talks just yet,... according to a UN envoy to North Korea.

Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs Jeffrey Feltman... who returned from a trip

to the reclusive nation in late-November... said the regime isn't likely to engage in

discussions... before it has a full nuclear deterrent.

Yu Joonhee, Arirang News.

NPF Commissioner Cheri Kempf Joins the Ball Like a Girl Podcast | SML News - Duration: 9:57.

NPF Commissioner Cheri Kempf Joins the Ball Like a Girl Podcast

Cheri Kempf was only nine years old when she realized softball was more than a recreational outlet — she wanted to play on the highest level.

However, Kempf didn't dream of playing in a professional league.

That notion may seem strange for nine-year-old softball players in 2017.

However, a professional softball league didn't exist until 1997.

Kempf never had the opportunity to play professionally, but she has worked countless hours to ensure that the dream of playing professional softball only continues to grow.

Since 2007, she has served as commissioner of the National Pro Fastpitch — the only professional women's softball league in the United States.

Kempf joins us in this week's Ball Like a Girl podcast to discuss her journey to becoming a leading figure in the development of women's softball.

In this interview, Kempf delves into a variety of topics, including the lack of media coverage surrounding women's team sports, how she helped to secure the largest TV deal in the history of professional softball and what it takes to be a woman in sports management.

A new Ball Like a Girl episode will go live every Wednesday, featuring an in-depth conversation with an influential woman in the sports world.

Previous guests include ESPN's Laura Rutledge, and The Athletic's Nicole Auerbach.

Kempf has seen the game of softball from all angles.

As a player, she helped Team USA earn a gold medal in the 1992 World Cup in Beijing.

As an instructor, she founded the largest women's fast pitch training facility.

As atelevision analyst, she's become a prominent voice — appearing on national networks, including ESPN, Fox Sports, and MLB Network.

As NPF commissioner, her goal is sustainable growth for the game.

Over the past three years, the league has expanded, attendance has increased and for the first time in the history of an American professional sports franchise, an affiliate team from outside the contiguous United States, participated in regular season competition.

There's a lot to celebrate, but as Kempf admits, there's still a lot of work to be done.

What follows is an abbreviated version of our conversation with Kempf.

You can listen to the full interview at the bottom of this post, or on iTunes.

If you like what you hear, subscribe on iTunes, leave a review, and tell your friends.

You can also follow Ball Like a Girl on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram.

Ball Like a Girl: Women's sports teams have long been overlooked in media coverage– what kind of pushback did you experience when approaching television networks about putting softball on primetime television?.

Kempf: Well, here's the thing — the frustrating part about it is that softball is wildly successful.

So, I'm not pitching something that doesn't have data to back it up.

The data behind college softball is tremendously impressive — the women's college world series, sometimes, based on whatever year you're looking at, has been as high as the third-highest rated championship, only behind football and men's basketball.

It typically outrates a lot of the regular, day-to-day programming, whether that's MLB, NHL, or NCAA baseball.

Softball has this proven track record, that's the frustrating part, but the other part — you've hit it on the head — there's not a big presence specifically for women's team sports on television.

So, you have to have someone who has vision and who has guts to say, you know, we're going to do this, this is something that's important and this is something that does well and we're going to go both feet in and we're going to carry this on a large-scale and we're going to promote it and going to support it.

And I think anyone who does that — again, you can reference back to college softball — you have a high potential for success.

But it is new and it is different and it is women and it just hasn't been done yet– so it is going to take a unique individual to say, we're in.

BLAG: Do yo think you've been that individual in that conversation?.

Kempf: I'm the individual who 100 percent believes in it and scratches my head to say, why is this so hard to see? You know, I often point back to Major League Baseball — there was just one guy named Branch Rickey — just one guy in all of Major League Baseball that said, I think black men should be in with us and I think they can compete and I think this will work, and he was criticized for that.

He's the guy who signed Jackie Robinson.

He was met with a combative audience that said, what in the world is happening here, what are you doing? So, when you look back at that, history tells us that anything new and different — how absurd does that seem right now? That black men were not among the ranks of Major League Baseball players.

But at that time it hadn't been done and it took a unique individual, and a strong individual to not only make the decision, but to stand behind it.

I think we're at the same place.

I say all the time, every day what I learn, what's rare in business is vision and guts — the combination between those two.

Women need somebody who has that.

BLAG: As you mentioned, it's not just in softball, this is an issue affecting all women's team sports.

Have you had conversations with other leaders in professional leagues about these issues?.

Kempf: Yes, it's a conversation I have all the time and it's amazing that so many people don't realize it until you say it.

And then they're like, "Oh, yes, that's right — there aren't professional team sport options available.".

Last year, A&E took a very aggressive position with women's soccer.

They went out and went to the women's soccer league and they ended up taking an equity position in the league.

They purchased inventory, they're airing the soccer league, they are producing those games, they're using all of their assets in public relations, broadcasting…everything to promote that league and I think that was an aggressive position, a brave position to take and make that move.

BLAG: What advice would you give to a woman who wants be involved in some capacity in the sports industry?.

I would tell anybody, anytime, that has a target to immerse yourself in it one way or another.

I can tell you that when I owned the largest fastpitch training facility in the world, I cleaned the bathrooms and that wasn't a glamorous job and I picked trash up out of the parking lot.

You can take it all the way to broadcasting, you know, I did games for nothing.

I did games that cost me money to do them so that I could get experience on the air.

And in the NPF, a lot of times, I'm the odd man out in the room, I say it as a joke, but it's uphill, backwards in a snowstorm, often.

But you have to be committed, you have to put your head down, you have to believe in what you're doing.

Muslim nations declare East Jerusalem as Palestinian capital - Duration: 2:23.

Turning now to the ongoing controversy surrounding President Trump's recognition of Jerusalem

as Israel's capital.

Dozens of Muslim nations have urged the international community to reject Trump's move and recognize

East Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine.

Ro Aram reports.

The leaders of 57 Muslim nations, otherwise known as the Organization of Islamic Cooperation,

have declared East Jerusalem as the Palestinian capital, calling on the international community

to follow in its footsteps.

Wednesday's summit was hosted by Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan, who has criticized the U.S.

for its stance on Jerusalem.

(Turkish)AP - 4130606 / 1 "… In our view, Jerusalem is the capital

of the state of Palestine and will remain as such.

I invite other countries to recognize Jerusalem as the occupied capital of the state of Palestine."

The OIC added that Trump's "dangerous declaration" to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital

was "null and void and lacks any legitimacy."

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas accused the U.S. of being biased in favor of Israel,

saying it no longer had any role to play in the peace process.

(Arabic) AP - 4130589 / 1 "The United States is not an unbiased mediator.

And we don't accept, as Palestinians, Arabs and Muslims, we are no longer able to accept

the role of America as mediator for which the basic necessary condition is unbiased

integrity.

We will go to the United Nations Security Council to decide this resolution, according

to the United Nations."

Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he was "not impressed" by the OIC's statement.

He added that the Palestinians would do better by recognising reality and acting in favour

of peace and not extremism.

He also went on to say that other countries will follow the U.S. and move their embassies

to Jerusalem.

The city is home to key religious sites sacred to Judaism, Islam and Christianity, especially

in East Jerusalem.

Israel regards the entire city as its capital, a stance not taken by the international community,

until recently.

But Palestine claims East Jerusalem as the capital of a future state, and that its final

status should be discussed in the latter stages of peace talks.
