Freelancing: The Future of Editing - Duration: 5:47.

My name is Madelynne Smart, and I'm a current student at Gaston Community College.

In 2018, I intend to transfer to the University of North Carolina at Asheville to get a Bachelor's

degree in English, and continue on to become an editor, likely on a freelance basis.

This is partially a personal choice, though it also has a lot to do with the current state

of the industry.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, between 2014 and 2024, the job outlook is

projected to decline by 5 percent.

This is equivalent to 6,200 positions.

As hopeless as this may seem, there are possible solutions.

In recent years, it has become as simple as clicking "publish" to get your words out into

the world.

WIth this ease, why hire an editor to look over your self-published book, magazine, website,

or blog at all?

Readability, accuracy, consistency, sentence structure, and format are not things the laymen

are likely to think of when writing their pieces, and people who are higher up at institutions

and companies, who know better, are more likely than you'd think to feign ignorance to save

their bottom line.

More and more often, writers are forced to edit their own work.

Meaning that they're essentially being pushed into a sort of creative echo chamber.

What kind of well-edited, well-written, and well-thought-out content can really come out

of a situation like that?

Other companies won't hire on an editor at all, and those who do, often push the editors

into a position of a sort-of "Jack of all Trades," where they focus more on client acquisition,

rather than the actual editing, which is the main focus of "Whatever Happened To Book Editors?"

an article published by Publishers Weekly.

We see stories like that of Rachel Brown, a freelance editor of ten years, who despite

her many qualifications, her hard-earned experience, and the many applications put in to companies

left and right, has yet to be able to move on to a permanent position.

The biggest obstacle to fixing this problem is the money.

Big companies may believe that by skipping over hiring editors, or overworking the ones

that they do have, they're saving money.

What they fail to realize, is that when they do this, they're likely turning customers

away.

As Fred Vultee said, "Readers are busy, they aren't dumb."

So when you waste their time with silly mistakes and problems that make it hard to get through

a few sentences, you're going to lose ad revenue and possibly even sales when they click away

and maybe even go to a competitor for the same product.

However, it is unknown how long it will take companies to realize that their complacency

is hitting them where it hurts - their wallet.

In the meantime, perhaps the best solution is for editors to stop looking to others for

employment altogether, and look within themselves.

According to Editors Canada, 52 percent of their members are already full-time freelancers,

while only 18 percent work at permanent positions in-house.

This, to me, really marks the current trend of employment for editors, and perhaps even

predicts a continued movement.

Some professional organizations already offer help specifically for freelance editors.

For example, the American Copy Editors Society, or ACES, offers a specific "editors for hire"

section that is a list of freelancers with their contact information, and their full

resume.

For example, I can find James Hyder on the ACES website, and find he is based out of

Las Vegas but is more than willing to work online or over the phone, that he is willing

to work on almost any kind of project, that he has been working in the field for 25 years.

Immediately, that is a direct line of communication between me, the customer, and James, the editor.

No middleman.

No fee for him or for me.

Just directly to a working relationship.

If these organizations are already willing to specifically turn a lot of their focus

toward freelance editors, why not further that approach?

ACES also offers something they call their "editing boot camps."

In person or online workshops where editors learn from an instructor about anything an

editor could possibly need to know.

Why not offer a similar boot camp that is specifically for freelancers?

They could talk about how to have a successful home business, how to run the finances, how

to acquire clients when you don't have an employer to do so for you.

Perhaps these organizations could also get certain deals from larger companies.

For example, Microsoft offers certain deals for bulk purchases for certain business, schools,

why not professional organizations for editors?

Printer companies, fax companies, anything that a person would need to build a home office.

If you could get a certain number of people to sign up and agree that they are willing

to purchase, a discount could possibly be found.

With the aforementioned support, becoming a freelancer fulltime could be a much more

simple endeavor, and it would lead to a lot more creativity, freedom, the ability to really

focus on helping the writer create the book or project in general that they want to, which

is what editors are supposed to be doing.

Large companies would save money hiring freelancers for short periods of time rather than having

an editor on retainer.

Maybe in the long run, it isn't a bad thing that the industry continues to shift away

from permanent positions.

Perhaps freelancers really are the future of editing.

Hi. This is Marty from Blue Lightning TV.

I'm going to show you how to create a powerful, film noir-style portrait.

Open a high-resolution photo of someone that you'd like to use for this project.

The result will look best if your subject's lighting is mostly from one side.

I downloaded this photo from Shutterstock.

Its size is 1080 pixels in width and height and its resolution is 150 pixels per inch.

The first step is to separate our subject from its background by making a selection

around our subject.

For this example, I'll use the Quick Selection Tool.

If you're using this tool, as well, drag the tool over the inside of your subject to select it.

To remove areas outside your subject, press and hold Alt or Option as you drag over those areas.

To finesse the selection of the hair, click the "Select and Mask " button

or go to Select and Select and Mask.

If you're using a version earlier than CC 2015.5, you'll see "Refine Edge", instead of "Select and Mask".

I did in-depth tutorials on both filters, so if you'd like to watch them, I provided

their links in my video's description below.

If you're using CC 2015.5 or later and would like to use Refine Edge instead of Select

and Mask, Shift-click "Select and Mask" to open the Refine Edge" window.

I'll click "Smart Radius and drag the Radius to approximately 42 pixels.

Then, I'll drag my brush over the edge of the hair.

I'll check "Decontaminate Colors" to fill in the edge of the hair and choose "New Layer with Layer Mask".

We'll make this layer into a new document by clicking the icon at the upper right of

the Layers panel and clicking "Duplicate Layer".

Open the Documents list and click "New".

Name it "Displacement".

We're going to make this document into a displacement map, which we'll use to wrap

the shadows of the shutter blinds around the contours of our subject.

We'll make a new layer below the active layer

by Ctrl-clicking or Cmd-clicking the New Layer icon. We'll fill it with white, but first,

check your foreground and background colors.

If they aren't black and white respectively, press "D" on your keyboard.

Since white is your background color, press Ctrl or Cmd + Delete.

We'll convert our visible image into a Smart Object, so we can modify it non-destructively.

To do this, Shift-click your subject to make it active as well, and then, convert them into one Smart Object.

Click the Adjustment Layer icon and click "Black White".

Click the Adjustment Layer icon again and this time, click "Levels".

Drag the Input Highlight slider to the point where the histogram starts to rise

and do the same for the Input Shadows.

This increases our subject's contrast, which will make our displacement map more effective.

Next, we'll blur it, which will also give us a better result.

Make your subject layer active

and go to Filter, Blur and Gaussian Blur.

Blur it 2 pixels.

Go to File and Save As.

Save it to your Desktop, so we can access it quickly.

Save it as Photoshop file

and click "Save".

If you see this message, just click OK.

Open back your subject document.

Ctrl-click or Cmd-click the New Layer icon to make a new layer below the active layer.

Open your Gradient Tool and make sure the Linear gradient icon is active.

Click the gradient bar to open the Gradient Editor.

Click the "Black, White" preset and click the lower, left Stop.

Click the color box to open the Color Picker.

Click the lower, left corner of the color field and for Brightness, type in 20.

Then, click OK.

Click the lower, right Stop , the Color Box and for Brightness, type in 50.

Then click OK on both windows to close them.

If your subject is lit from the right, place your cursor on the left edge of your document

and press and hold the Shift key as you drag the Gradient Tool to the right edge.

Then, release.

If your subject is lit from the left, then, drag the Gradient Tool to the left.

Make your subject active.

Click the Adjustment layer icon and click "Black White".

We want to restrict the adjustment layer to affect just the one layer beneath it.

To do this, either click the Clipping Mask icon or press Ctrl + Alt + G on Windows or

Cmd + Option + G on a Mac.

Open the Preset list.

I'll click the "Red Filter" to brighten the warm colors of my subject's face, however,

you may find that the Default setting is fine for your subject.

Click the lock icon on the bottom layer to unlock it and drag the layer to the top of your Layers panel.

I'm going to make the red lips of my subject the only color we'll see in my portrait.

If you want to do the same for a particular color of your subject, the steps will essentially be the same.

Go to Select and "Color Range".

Open the "Select" list and click "Sampled Colors".

Make the "Fuzziness" 40.

Click the subject's color that you'd like to isolate.

Then, press and hold Shift

as you drag over more of the same color to include subtle variations of that color.

If you over-selected it, press "z" on your keyboard to undo it.

If you want to zoom into the area to see it better, press "z" on your keyboard to

open your Zoom Tool and drag over the selected area.

Make the selection into a Quick Mask by pressing "Q' on your keyboard.

I'm going to change the color of my red quick mask to see the lips better.

If you want to change the color of your quick mask, double-click the quick mask icon.

Click the color box and pick another color.

Then, click OK on both windows.

Press "Q" again to make the selection into a quick mask.

We want to remove unwanted areas of the quick mask and fill in other areas.

Open your Brush Tool and Brush Picker.

I'll make the size: 6 pixels, the Hardness: 0% and Opacity: 100%.

To remove areas of the quick mask, make sure white is your foreground color.

If your colors are inverted, press "x".

Now, brush over the unwanted areas.

To fill in areas, press "Q" and invert the selection by pressing Ctrl or Cmd + Shift + I.

Press "Q" again and then press "x" to make your foreground color black.

Brush over areas you want to fill in.

Press "Q" and invert the selection.

Click the Layer Mask icon to make a layer mask of the selection next to the active layer.

To fit your document back onto the canvas press Ctrl or Cmd + 0.

Next, we'll create the dramatic lighting of shutter blinds.

Click the New Layer icon to make a new layer.

We'll fill it with 50% gray.

To do this, press Shift + the F5 key at the top of your keyboard or go to Edit and Fill

to open the "Fill" window.

Open the "Contents" list and click "50% Gray".

Press "D" on your keyboard to make your foreground and background colors black and white, respectively.

Go to Filter and Filter Gallery.

Open the Sketch folder and click "Halftone Pattern".

The Pattern Type is "Line".

Drag the Size and Contrast all the way to the right.

Open your Channels panel.

If you don't see it, go to Window and Channels.

Ctrl-click or Cmd-click the RGB channel to make a selection of the pattern.

Open back the Layers panel and press the "Delete" key on your keyboard

to delete the white rows of the pattern.

Then, deselect it.

Next, we'll enlarge our pattern.

Open your Transform Tool by pressing Ctrl or Cmd + T.

Click the chain-link icon to link the Width and the Height.

Now, when we type a percentage amount in either the Width or the Height, the other will change

to that amount, as well.

Type in 300% in either field.

Next, we'll change its perspective, but first,

zoom out by pressing Ctrl or Cmd and the minus key on your keyboard a few times.

Go to Edit, Transform and Perspective.

Go to the top, left corner and drag straight up approximately this much.

Then, go inside the bounding box and drag it to the left until the bounding box is close

to the right edge of your document.

Then, press Enter or Return.

Fit it back onto your canvas.

Press "v" to open your Move Tool and position your pattern, so the eyes of your subject,

and in this example, the lips are visible.

Go to Filter, Blur and Gaussian Blur.

Blur it 20 pixels and click OK or press Enter or Return.

Reduce its opacity to 70%.

Let's rename it, "Wall", since this layer will be the pattern on the wall behind our subject.

Ctrl-click or Cmd-click the layer mask of our subject to make a selection of its shape.

Alt-click or Option-click the Layer Mask icon to make an inverted layer mask of the selection,

next to the active layer.

This layer mask is essentially masking out or hiding our subject from the pattern.

Click off the chain-link icon, so we can adjust the pattern independent of the layer mask.

Press Ctrl or Cmd + J to make a copy of it.

Make the top layer mask active and invert it by pressing Ctrl of Cmd + I.

This layer mask is revealing the pattern onto our subject through the layer mask.

Let's name this layer, "Subject", since it shows the pattern only on our subject.

Increase its opacity a bit to 75%.

Before we apply the displacement map to the pattern,

we need to crop off the pattern that extends past our visible canvas.

Remember, we enlarged the pattern 300% and placed it in perspective.

Press Ctrl or Cmd + A to select our canvas and go to Image and Crop.

Then, deselect it.

Go to Filter, Distort and Displace.

Make the Horizontal and Vertical Scales: 20, "Stretch to Fit" and "Repeat Edge Pixels".

Click the "Displacement" file you saved at the beginning and click "Open".

This is Marty from Blue Lightning TV.

Thanks for watching.

JUST IN: NFL Protester Makes Shocking Move, Media Stunned. - Duration: 4:03.

JUST IN: NFL Protester Makes Shocking Move, Media Stunned.

Seattle Seahawks defensive end, Michael Bennett, shows that the issue of NFL players kneeling

for the national anthem isn't as cut-and-dry as one might think.

Before Thursday night's game against the Arizona Cardinals, Bennett decided to stand

for the national anthem.

Previously, the defensive end has sat down during the anthem.

Bennett became one of the faces of the NFL protests.

Previously, he vowed to sit during the national anthem for the entire football season.

He made this vow even before President Trump expressed his opinion that players should

be fired for kneeling during the Star Spangled Banner.

The defensive end is the son of a Navy veteran, so he was raised with respect for the men

and women in uniform.

Thursday was "Salute for Service Night," which is an event intended to honor United

States veterans.

Bennett also stood for the anthem on Veterans Day.

The Los Angeles Times reports that Thursday marked the first time all season that Bennett

stood for the national anthem.

The rest of his team also stood.

The reason NFL players have either kneeled or sat during the Star Spangled Banner is

to protest alleged police brutality against black Americans.

While Bennett believes in the objective of the protests, he also understands the importance

of respecting the military.

"It was to signify that we are all with the military, and that we love them," he

said in an interview with the Tacoma News Tribune.

"There's been this narrative that we don't care about the military.

Today, we were honoring the military, so we wanted to be able to honor the military.

The defensive end also stated that the protests have "never been about the military."

He added, "If there is an opportunity to support them and be grateful for what they

do, and the sacrifices, we want to be able to do that."

While Bennett does plan to sit for the national anthem at other games, he has stated that

this will not be the last time he will stand during the Star Spangled Banner.

On November 20, the Seahawks will host their "Salute to Service" game against the Atlanta

Falcons.

"This is Veterans Day weekend.

And next weekend is Salute to Service," Bennett said.

"I am going to stand up for that game, too, to honor them."

The NFL protests have been the subject of a heated national debate since former San

Francisco 49ers quarterback, Colin Kaepernick, began kneeling for the playing of the anthem.

The argument subsided earlier this year, but was brought back onto the public stage when

President Trump stated that players who kneel for the anthem should be fired.

There are reasonable arguments on both sides of this issue, and good Americans can disagree

on whether the NFL players' method of protest is appropriate.

Nevertheless, it is important that both sides truly understand one another — and mutual

understanding is something that is missing from our current political discourse.

Those who oppose kneeling for the national anthem accuse the players of not respecting

American soldiers.

While this accusation might apply to some who support these protests, the majority of

kneeling players have stated that they do not intend to disrespect the United States

or its troops — they only wish to bring awareness to a perceived injustice.

On the other hand, supporters of the protesting players label those with whom they disagree

as bigots who are uninterested in the plight of American minorities.

Are there some who oppose the protests as a result of bigotry?

Perhaps, but these individuals are few.

The majority of those who oppose the protests take issue with the way the NFL players are

protesting — not the fact that they are protesting in the first place.

Bennett's decision to stand during the national anthem shows that he can express his opinion

while still having respect for US armed forces.

Hopefully, people like him can help other Americans engage in debate without demonizing

one another.

How I Edit My YouTube Videos! - Duration: 36:55.

The drivers here, horrible. omg. They speed like - they don't even look at traffic lights. I don't think they do!

What's up, what's good guys, my name is Aldrin, welcome to another video on my channel!

And I know it's been a while since I have made a video

That's because I've been really busy. 'Cause we moved.

But in this video is a request that has been waiting for a while now and the request is

How I edit my videos. How do I do that? the process is actually quite simple if you have

a creative mind because

For me when I edit my videos

I usually imagine like what I want it to look like

So sometimes it can be inspired by others, other youtubers! When I do edits

I think of like Sam holder or Matt Komo and all those other big editors like Ryan Nang-

I don't know how to pronounc-Ryan Nangle

Yeah, but those are like really

Good editors that I get inspired from to make my edits for my main videos like this one

I usually just

Think of like a TV show sort of and then I edit like a TV show... Without further ado

Let me show you how I edit my videos and let's jump into Premiere Pro, which is where I edit my videos

Okay

So now you can see my desktop so before I start editing I always import my videos which I have already done

And I've placed them in this folder where I keep a lot of my

Music the effects LUTs sound effects software's I've also recorded my voice on a software

adobe audition

which

Records and can edit sound so yeah

I've recorded two because this is what I recorded for what we are gonna be editing today

This is for the video that I am doing right now, but right now the audio is recording with QuickTime Player

So that's why I don't have adobe audition on i've already have the videos in and it's in a folder called edit

This is the video

That's the video that we're gonna be editing today is which is how or I mean?

Which is what I use to make my videos I have

another USB where I

store my files of Premiere Pro where the cache goes to and all those stuff is connected to my

Seagate

One terabyte us be my backup drive. I have a folder called YouTube here and then there

I just placed my intro in there and

When I export my videos I would export them in this folder so now that I have that

inside my

computer

I'm going to open up Premiere Pro now that I've got Premiere Pro

Open select a new project and named it what I use because the video that I'm editing is

What you're seeing?

in

The next video after this video, I'm putting the location of the file into this

Drive here, so all the media and all that goes in here

And it doesn't take space in my computer because you can see right now

I don't have that much space here, and I have a ton of space in here

683 gigabytes free

So let's click OK now. I like to use the tabs at the top here because they'repretty convenient right now. Let's locate the video

That we're gonna edit so this is the video

These two videos are the video right now that you just saw

That is in this video this one was in the beginning

It's gonna be the end and I will double click on this and let's go to the very beginning

And I'd like to scroll through to see where I should start my video

So I just use the keyboard L. K. And J. L is when I

Need to play the video normally K to stop it J's to pull backwards, and if I press L

Twice then it goes faster press J twice, and it goes backwards faster

So if I want to scroll through faster, I just go like this

It's kind of laggy right now

What I didn't realize that the camera blurred out at that time

Because I couldn't see my glasses on but this is where I'm gonna start the video. I'm gonna start to edit so I

Create a mark here the starting mark here, and I scroll through

We don't need to look through all here yet

Till the end so let's go back

Okay, okay, I say that's done go to

Click this video and drag it into the secrets and now it's a cut to that area. Yeah

I don't need to do some extra cuts because I've already cut cut the video

While assembling in the sequence if you guys wondering where the other clips are me showing my products

The beer that I use I haven't recorded that yet because I'm gonna record the beginning

Because I'm gonna edit the beginning first because you need to have a strong beginning and a strong ending

I'm gonna render out this scene so it isn't that leggy

Now that the rendering is finished we can now play back smoothly, and we just cancel the markings

Yeah as you can see like I stumbled a lot with my words, that's why I had to do a lot of editing

Okay, so the video seems pretty good right now

So now let's just zoom in a bit into the timeline and let's see which parts we need to cut out

Okay, I like to leave some space want to edit beginning you see there's a small pause there because

I add my intro I usually add my intro first but

I'd say you should do basic cuts before you do that, but I feel like this might be easier

So I was at my intro in there

Let me show like okay, I'm talking nonsense in some of the music files

Yeah, let's cut this part and put this in the beginning

Okay, so this part is gonna be beginning

alone

Let's move everything back

Let's move this to the front

Let's add the intro up here

This

Now what's great about Premiere Pro

Is that they have a snapping and unsnapping tool so if I unsnap then you can move this freely?

It doesn't snap on to anything if I turn on the snap it will automatically snap on to the next clip

Without you

Precisely trying to get it on to the next clip

so for this go like this and then

Then it cuts the intro

So I heard for my cut my cousin said what I showed my cousin my new intro he said Oh your intro smoother now

Yeah was because I?

Try to make a smooth

outro or the intro

So you see this

This part where the screen comes up this black part is actually where the video is gonna be act

So it's like that this is where the screen comes up, so I'm gonna edit put it there

I'm actually gonna render this part out because getting a little too slow

It's only gonna take a few seconds oh

Yeah, my intro is loud, that's why tune of the game this is it

Yeah

Turn up the gain is six, so it's loud

Cuz this is like a a beast

For me to know how loved my video needs to be

Let me turn the volume down a bit

Yeah, it seems pretty smooth. Oh, I felt like it went from blurry to unglue

Okay, so now that you've got the intro in and fix the audio levels on my video I

Oh, you know what it's actually not supposed to be this audio

I forgot that we recorded separate audio because I always record separate audio when I film

This is the audio

So now let's try and hear this one. That's so low this

Okay now it's fine where

We can

Let's find the matching

this way

Yeah, this is it

So we cut that we delete that we delete this empty space oh, there's more empty spaces

Start here, and I usually unlink

This

So I just have the audio, and then I should click on that right click, and then I would sink

Sometimes it doesn't work

There now that

You know now that I think about it, I should turn this one down a bit negative 6 did that work

See now it sounds crisp you you know you're insane

Um this one yeah

Okay now that I found the audio let's bring it to the front

Here we go you can zoom in a bit on that

Okay now there's like multiple sound so now we unlike this you unlink this audio, and then we delete it

Now

You know what I just realized

This and this before I do that let me just I

Usually make a

Nest

So now it's the same

It's not like that I think we should bring these back

Yeah like that

So now we cut this

And then we nest these two clips together

So now it's one one whole clip

So now that I've got this part down we need to sync up this audio

Okay, I think that's pretty synced so

We do the same unlinked delete. We don't

And then we nest them

Okay

Now that we've nested everything and everything looks great

we now do what I call the basic cuts, which is where we just cut to the

We just skip the parts where I stumble upon my words or I have a pause

Because who wants to see that right unless if you guys want to see it, so now I've rendered the video

So we can have a smooth

Timeline that we can cut easily we don't need to cut the first half because it would just mean like

Yeah, we don't need to cut the first part let's turn off the monkeys

So we have to carps we have to start cutting from

This clip starting from this clip let's do that. So there were lots of mistakes and had to repeat myself

multiple times but

We found the big one

So let's cut it right here

Cut from

here

Cut it here, so we know this is this thing that we want to cut so let's cut that

And we delete this extra space so now it seemed

And I think that's it for the beginning which is pretty dang short

So yeah we need to cut this empties space here and

We're doing the outro

So the outro now if you guys don't know well you you wouldn't

yet, I

Am doing a different type of outro instead of just showing just the clip of me saying. Thank you

I'm actually gonna add a

Overlay and overlay where did I keep that?

the effects

So I keep all my effects

effects folder

Here here's the outro. This is the outro background, and I'll put the video clip right here

So let's let's cut the outro first

Get there

That's where I started talking about my background

Let's

So now that we have cut

Clip this clip to the end of space out

Yeah, that was a little bit messy let me clear that up

Cut there we cut there and

Then we do this

That's done for that comment section, so let's see that that part again

Okay now that's cleaner no more messy

Choppy words

So now that we've got that

Comment section done. I think I'm signing off in this one. Yes, I am I

end off

They were cutting off here, that's couple for my arm moves yeah here

I've actually decided to not show you guys

The products, I mean the gears

Because I want you guys to see that video

When it comes out, so I don't spoil anything for you, so I'm only gonna edit the beginning and the ending

But it's pretty much gonna be the same as how I edit a full video

So this is so let me do the transitions as well

Okay, so this part now. I'm gonna move them up here and

I'm adding that picture that outro picture in there

Where the outro happens how long is this 30

Yeah, that's enough time hmm, so I'm gonna nest

These clips so what I have to apply them to

There so now this this is all

nested I

Am now going to resize the image

visit 53 no

It's more than that

Yeah, yeah 37 I should screenshot that

So usually if I need to remember the settings for something I would screenshot it

So I don't forget and everything looks very consistent

You can't hear me right now. I'm sorry for that my mom's vacuuming the house

So with that

Part. I don't need to add transitions because they're not really

This is the introduction

So you don't put it your introduction you don't put it a transition in the introduction?

if the introduction isn't over some only are so I'm gonna put it in the end and

I will use my use my transition face. I'm use my face

Yeah, why not

It won't be there for that long

so

First of all

We got to resize it to make it to make the head and the chin touch

each touch the edges of the

Top and bottom and

Then we will

position this

the very top oh

Yeah, I forgot okay

I'm gonna reset everything

Because I forgot to do this, I'm so stupid I

Always put the transform

On

Because I want to get that motion blur on that face

so with that

Can uncheck uncheck that

360 that

In the first position that we're going to do all the way up

All the way, and then we do the end

Okay now just giving me all the way down

See now it has that transition

People won't really notice that it cuts off like that

It would just seem like it's following the face

But

People will not pay attention to you to the cut because the face is like a distraction you know I

Also usually I would do this transition with a mask that follows the face

When it goes down, so it's old it seems like it's wiping down

But for this to make it simpler and

Faster I will just do this

Which also seems very smooth

So I don't have a problem with that

So that's one transition done, and it seems pretty smooth for the outro

We're done with that and

You might feel like this video is a little bit too bland. There's no like you don't feel anything when watching Phil you feel bored

Plus because I haven't added the music yet

And I know sometimes my energy and videos aren't really that great

But I'm trying to fix that

I'm trying to improve that so this is a one song that I used a lot in most my videos if you notice I

Should I use that for my intro, and then I would use what was the song that would use in the background

the back yes is the one

That's my background music for my videos

If you pay attention you will hear it to negative 15

See now it feels a little bit like half you you know it doesn't feel like too boring if without it

Yeah, it's a lot better. It's not too loud. It's not too soft. You can still hear it, so you can feel the vibe

And usually with the transition I would in

Add some effects to it to make it sound a lot more

to give it a lot more I

Don't know how to say it effect, I guess

But I have a free woosh sound pack

Yeah, let's use this one there's a little lighter

Yep, so now. It's not right so now

You can really tell that the transitions there, so that's what I mean in the beginning video

You need like to have a creative need to think

On what you want to make on what you want to edit?

how you want it to look like and this is like what I wanted to be like a

Face that goes through you can see them in some like TV shows you will see a transition similar to this

So that that's what I was going for that

And then

That's pretty much it

For the sound I should transition this in that's it Dancy, I'm gonna like that

I'm gonna make it like that and

I will use a

Handy seamless transition transition, so let me replace it with an After Effects composition

The reason why I do I didn't the reason why I didn't do that for the face transition is because

I'm adding Clips after that not just from the intro to the outro

I'm acting I'm adding clips that I haven't recorded yet in between them so that's why I didn't

Do their place After Effects composition?

Let's do

Distortion these are the ones that are cool

It should be added yes it is

It's added on to the timeline

So let me render up this scene okay now when it plays back again. Should be a little bit smoother

So now that's done, you don't need this to be on there anymore it should what?

Why is this offline no okay, so I fixed this transition and now it is

Better. I have also rendered it

Now the transition does not I don't know why but it doesn't sound effects doesn't work, so I'll be adding

Now just I think this little

Yes, this was the something

that they placed inside now the transition looks and

Sounds more like traditional

Okay, so another the video has done rendering the outro let's look at it

This is where I now add the VFX visual effects my VFX section

And then the like or comma

I

Will switch up ultra key and use that

And when it's loaded you select color BAM you got it you got a thing right there

Yeah stead of putting it up here

There you go, you know for the subscribe

Go back to fix I didn't know why I got out of there oh

Yeah, it's at the ultra key effect this really well this

Shameeka

Know I should be his bigger

let's make this one fit II

Know I did not click on that okay

150

Yes, okay, oh yes, you also make this faster

Let's just render everything in this scene

Everything out so now that I've rendered out the scene let's play that back

So now

the ending looks good and

now that I've showed you the VFX and everything I

now add a

Lund

Videos, it's just like a filter for your video

So I

Am what's this?

Okay

All this is to move

Give it some space in here

Project yes, we add an adjustment layer

Perfect put it there

Okay

We don't need this see this part, so we go to look within the creative section gonna look browse

We browse the different let's I

Have a ton of Luntz in here some of them. I don't use because I don't have any log footage. I can't record lock footage

But I do have some that I've made

Like in here, it's one or this one

This one yeah

Okay so with the highlights down, okay, so now that we got that done go back to editing and

Look over the clips alright

There we go I usually at the left at the end because it actually makes everything my year

That's pretty much how I edit my videos so when I export the video I go to file export

Media that will do is open up this

So, that's

That's its let's fix that

We'll just cut it there saves a QuickTime format QuickTime. We leave this

Output premiere no we put here video file. Yes, we save it as like

What I'm just gonna call it what

Just for the sake of it okay because I haven't really finished editing this yet, I'm just showing you the basic stuff

So this is all done

Up here, so we can go to the video section we go to

H dot 264

we match source render at maximum depth and

use maximum render quality

For audio we go to AAC

we look for the highest one, and then we go to the highest one again 320 and

Everything should be good, and then click Q. They will take me to media encoder and it will

Export it for me

So that's how I edit my video. Thank you guys for watching this video

Hopefully you guys like this video if you do give it a thumbs up and subscribe to this channel down below

and comment down and near the request that you want me to make and I will

when I have the time and

Just coming anything done

Little pet or something, but anyways see you guys in the next video bye

'US digging its own GRAVE' North Korea threatens WAR as Trump's warships loom over Kim - DAILY NEWS - Duration: 3:27.

NORTH Korea has threatened war as the US amasses a huge armada of warships right on the doorstep

of Kim Jong-un.

Three supercarriers USS Ronald Reagan, USS Theodore Roosevelt and USS Nimitz are carrying

out war games in the Korean Peninsula.

Each aircraft carrier has its own strike groups of destroyer and submarines alongside – and

are joined by warships from Japan, Australia and South Korea.

North Korea has warned the US and its allies are "digging their own graves" by carrying

out the drills – warning of "nuclear war at any moment".

US Navy forces are carrying out the drill as US President Donald Trump finishes up his

tour of Asia.

Trump last night took aim at Kim – calling him "short and fat" before saying he hoped

one day they could have a "friendship".

North Korean state media published a statement – branded the allies "warmongers" and

claiming the drills were rehearsing for an attack on Kim.

Published in newspaper Rodong Sinmun, it claimed the Korean Peninsula is now in the "worst

phase of tensions" and claiming the allies are trying to "provoke a war".

While in South Korea, Trump took a more statesman-like tone as he said he "hoped to God" the

US would not go to war with North Korea.

In a commentary, Rodong Sinmun said: "The situation of the Korean Peninsula is now on

the worst phase of tension in which a nuclear war may break out any moment due to the US

reckless moves for aggression on the DPRK.

So, it is clear what catastrophic phase such war games will bring.

"The puppet warmongers, keen on the moves to provoke a war, escalating the tension in

collusion with outsiders, are harassers of peace and traitors to the nation who can never

be allowed to go scot-free.

"The military provocation act of the puppet forces going helter-skelter with the backing

of their master is a suicidal act of digging their own graves."

Elsewhere in the tirade, Kim blasted a marine drill around Paekryong and Yonphyong Islands

in West Sea – between North Korea and China.

It said it was " aimed at a preemptive strike at major targets of the DPRK" and claimed

it was a "deliberate" provocation".

The world waits to see if Kim will launch another weapons test – having not fired

a missile since September 15.

North Korea have been building up to the dreaded Juche Bird – live nuclear missile fired

into the Pacific.

North Korea is feared to be on the verge of an imminent test as the US deployed the Cobra

Ball missile detector plane.

Tensions have reached a new high this year as the US claim they won't tolerate a nuclear-armed

Kim.

North Korea believes securing nukes will allow it to put pressure on its neighbours and secure

the regime in Pyongyang.

The Hilarious Way Republicans Define "Middle Class" - Duration: 6:42.

IT'S THE SECOND WEEK OF THE REPUBLICAN ROLLOUT OF A NEW

TAX PLAN.

AS WE TOLD YOU LAST WEEK, BEFORE IT WAS REVEALED IT WAS WILDLY

UNPOPULAR.

I BELIEVE IT WAS ABOUT 32%.

IS EVEN WORSE NOW AND THERE ARE A FEW REASONS FOR THAT.

PEOPLE CAN SEE THROUGH THE PROPAGANDA, THEY KNOW THIS IS

LARGELY A GIVEAWAY.

60% OF AMERICANS SAID THIS

FAVORS THE WEALTHY.

>>THEY DIDN'T READ IT IS THE TRUTH OF IT.

>> REPUBLICANS ARE GOING TO HAVE SOME OTHER PROBLEMS TO BECAUSE

THEY WERE REALLY HAVING TO STRETCH THE MEANING OF WORDS.

A GREAT EXAMPLE OF THAT IS THE TERM MIDDLE-CLASS.

YOU SEE THERE IS A BENEFIT FOR INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES.

THEY SAY WE KEEP THE HIGHEST ONE

THE SAME, WHICH ISN'T TRUE,

THEY CHANGED HOW MANY PEOPLE QUALIFY FOR THAT.

THEY DROP DOWN THAT 35 FROM 39,

AND THEY INCLUDE IN THE LOW AND MIDDLE INCOME CATEGORIES.

THE QUALIFY FOR THAT YOU HAVE TO MAKE MORE THAN $450,000 WHICH

WOULD PUT YOU IN THE TOP .5% OF ALL AMERICANS.

THAT IS MONEY WHERE YOU CAN LOOK DOWN ON THE BOTTOM HALF OF THE

1%, THOSE BROKE BASTARDS.

I AM

DESTITUTE BY THOSE STANDARDS.

I CAN AFFORD TO SIT AT THIS DESK.

>>MOST PEOPLE NEVER SEE $450,000 AS AN ANNUAL INCOME EVER.

YOU HAVE THE STATISTICS.

99.5% WON'T SEE IT.

>> THE DEMOCRATS FINDING THIS, THEY HAVE TO USE THIS STUFF.

IT IS SORT OF IN OUR DNA IS A COUNTRY THAT WE ARE

ASPIRATIONAL.

WE'VE CONVINCED OURSELVES THAT WE HAVE THIS AMERICAN DREAM

AND IF WE WORK HARD AND STUDY AND SAVE, WE TOO CAN BE WEALTHY.

IT HASN'T BEEN TRUE IN 70

YEARS BUT WE STILL BELIEVE IT AND THINK IT IS POSSIBLE.

SO YOU CAN GET A LOT OF VAGUE LANGUAGE WHICH WOULD JUST

SLIDE OVER THE ARMOR OF OUR AMERICAN DREAM.

YOU CAN CONVINCE A GUY THAT HE IS MIDDLE-CLASS BUT YOU

CAN'T CONVINCE HIM THAT HE MAKES $450,000 A YEAR IF HE DOESN'T.

HE KNOWS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HIS SALARY AND THAT.

>> WE ARE DISTRACTED BY A LOT OF THE RUSSIA CONVERSATION AND

THERE IS SOME FRESH MEAT SERVED UP ALL THE TIME ON THAT.

INDICTMENTS AND MORE RUMORS OF INDICTMENTS.

IT TAKES US OFF THE TRAIL BECAUSE THIS SHOULD BE FRONT AND

CENTER.

IT IS A REAL MONEY GRAB.

WE DON'T HEAR ENOUGH ABOUT IT, WE NEED TO DO MORE WITH THIS.

OPPOSITION NEEDS TO PLAY THIS CARD IN A BIGGER WAY.

>> LAST FRIDAY WE BROKE DOWN THE LIKELIHOOD THAT THE ENTIRE THING

COULD CRUMBLE BECAUSE OF HOW AGGRESSIVELY GREEDY THEY ARE

BEING TAUGHT THEIR DESIRE TO NOT JUST CUT CORPORATE TAXES DOWN BY

FIVE OR 8%, WHICH WOULD BE HUGE FOR THOSE CORPORATIONS, BUT THE

NEED TO CUT IT EFFECTIVELY AND HALF MEANS THEY WILL DRIVE

UP THE DEFICIT SO MUCH THAT THEY MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO PASS

THE WHOLE THING BECAUSE OF THE BIRD RULE.

THEY ARE JUST SO BRAZEN.

IS AMAZING WE ARE NOT ONE MONTH INTO THIS NEW POWER

STRUCTURE WE HAVE OF THE COUNTRY.

THE INCOMPETENCE MONTH AFTER MONTH, AND THEY STILL THINK

WE GOT THIS.

IT MIGHT BE THE END FOR THEM.

BUT WE DO STILL HAVE TWO AS YOU SAY KEEP ON IT BECAUSE IF THIS

PASSES IT IS NOT JUST A DISASTER NOW, IT WILL BE A DISASTER FOR

THE NEXT FIVE OR 10 YEARS BECAUSE WHEN YOU START RACKING

ON TRILLIONS MORE DOLLARS IN DEFICITS PER YEAR, THINK OF

ALL THE SOCIAL PROGRAMS THAT WILL HAVE TO BE CUT.

THEY WILL BE JUSTIFIABLY CUT TO BE FISCALLY RESPONSIBLE.

WE CAN FORGET ABOUT THE ASPIRATIONAL STUFF, EVEN

KEEPING WHAT WE HAVE NOW WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE IN MANY CASES

IF THIS TAX CUT GOES THROUGH.

>> THE FACT THAT IT IS GOING TO BE A DEFICIT MAKER MAY BE

OUR ONLY HOPE FOR IT NOT PASSING.

AS JOHN SAYS, THAT AUDLEY MAY BE THE SAVING GRACE OF THIS BECAUSE

APART FROM THAT, IT IS LIKELY THEY WILL PUSH IT THROUGH.

THEY DON'T CARE IF IT HAS POPULAR SUPPORT.

THIS IS A CLEVER CREW.

THIS ADMINISTRATION AND THIS GOP LEADERSHIP WHICH IS NOW IN BED

WITH THE ADMINISTRATION – THEY DON'T NEED TO SELL IT BECAUSE

THEY'VE GOT THEIR CADRE, WHICH IS JUST THE GOP IN CONGRESS

AND THEY WILL PUSH THROUGH WHATEVER.

THE MESSAGING THEY WILL LEAVE TO DONALD TRUMP.

THAT MIDDLE-CLASS MESSAGING, IT WILL JUST BE SPOONFED TO HIS

FOLLOWERS AND THEY WILL REGURGITATE IT.

THAT IS WHY THAT HAS TO GET OUT THERE.

THEY OUT MESSAGE US EVERY STEP OF THE WAY.

>>BETWEEN US AND THAT AT THE MIDDLE-

YOU ARE RIGHT THEY

DON'T CARE THAT IT IS NOT POPULAR, THEY DON'T EVEN

SEEM TO ACCEPT IT IS NOT POPULAR.

ONE SET IS THAT ONE OF THOSE POLLS THAT ONLY TALKS TO 1000 OR

2000 PEOPLE?

BOOKTUBE NEWBIE TAG 2.0 [CC] - Duration: 12:35.

Hello my name is Stephen Alff and welcome back to Alffbooks! And today I'm here to

do the booktube newbie tag 2.0! This tag was created by Catalyst Reads and I was

tagged by Jay from Captured in Words! So I'll be leaving both of their videos

down in the description! And yeah it's time to move on to the questions!

The first question is what genres would you like to see talked about more on

booktube? I'd like to see more historical fiction! Historical fiction is something

I've really gotten into I've started writing historical fiction and I'm

always looking for more historical fiction! So more people talking about it

means I discover more historical fiction, so that would be really cool! So there's

that! I'd also like to see people talk about classics more! I find, and that was

my case for years, that classics are very often thought of as reading material for

school or for college and because of that in some sense they're avoided as

too difficult or too potentially boring and though I don't like all classics

that I've read which is always the case about any type of book that you read! I

find that you need to give any book a good chance if you think that you may be

interested and you're just saying mmhnm because it's a classic, you should pick

it up! So yeah classics! If you talk about classics, let me know as well! The second

question is what ways do you feel are the best to make friends on booktube! And

I find that if you comment on other people's videos you are going to get

their attention. Especially if they've got really small channels! They are most

likely to really want to engage with you! So I find the booktube newbie tag is a

great way of meeting other people who love this community who've decided to

finally make videos and who aren't overloaded with comments, in a sense, that

they will see your comment and they will be more than happy to respond and the

thing is making friends on booktube is just making friends with anyone who

loves reading books and that starts with the people who've just started out and

it also makes them feel really welcomed! So I find that's a really good way of

engaging with people and making friends! Another great way is off the platform on

Twitter for example. You can tweet at other booktubers

and just start conversations there about different topics and I find that's a

great way of getting to know each other better and also just creating real good

friendships! And another way which I find is really interesting is to create

meetups! So if there are no meetups being organized at the moment in your area, you

can look into organizing your own meetups and that can always be really

fun because well you get to meet people in person, talk about books, maybe go to

book stores together and that's that's really cool yes! I find that when you

start looking you're always surprised by how many people close enough to you

actually are interested in and talk about books online they don't

necessarily have to be booktubers but they can be book bloggers. They can be

bookstagrammers. They can just be people who like tweeting about books and

I find that always fascinating to just talk with people who love books! The

third question is what do you enjoy most about making booktube videos! And I find

that I love just coming up with ideas! I love trying to see if they're possible

and I absolutely love working with other people to try and make those ideas

possible! It's just so much more fun when you can actually work with other people!

So I find even if it's just bouncing ideas off of someone... just throwing

them at them! *laughs* I find that is a really good way of just working through

possibilities for videos and that process is really fun! I do that with

booktube friends, I do that with family. I just find it really fun to see how other

people like ideas or what their input can be in a video! question four is what do

you least look forward to when making a booktube video? There are two things!

Firstly, making sure the lighting is right. Not that I look too bleached or

that it's too dark. I've had that problem before it's

just so irritating! And another one is background noise! I always try to reduce

background noise as much as possible and it's gotten to the point that if I hear

someone walking past the door even if I can barely hear them, myself, I'm like oh no

it will corrupt the audio even though the chances are that it

won't! But I try to film when there's as little noise as possible and noise is

something that I can't edit it out because I don't know how to.. audio sound

editing so it's always better to not have it in the first place! But yeah that

is something that I don't look forward to! The fifth question is what videos

other than tags, TBRs wrap-ups and reviews and recommendations would you

like to see more of? And definitely, hands down, discussion videos and sketches! I

love those! Personally I mean I want to do as many sketches as possible over the

next few months and years because I plan on being here for the long run! And

discussion videos because they really open your mind I find! Someone will

bring up a point at some point in their discussion video that you're never going

to have considered before and that is something I find fascinating! Just being

able to compare how you approach an idea or a concept or something you may not

even have thought of in detail and see that there's more to it than you

expected! The same thing applies to when preparing a discussion video! I find that

I will invariably look into the pros and cons of it and try and see both sides of

the discussion! Though I may not always understand or agree with all the points,

I'll try and find points that I can agree with or at least that I can

understand that others gonna agree with it! I find it's

always more interesting to try and give two aspects of a discussion, so both your

point of view and the opposite point of view. And whether you are the person

explaining those other points or whether you bring someone in to do that with you,

I think is really important to keep a discussion balanced and try and you know

try and find out and explain what both sides are. I mean I tried to do one of

those on booktube and why I love booktube and it turned into just the

video these are the reasons why I love booktube and yeah I love booktube! But

then I did one further back about book hauls and that one

was more balanced I mentioned pros for book hauls and also reasons I didn't

really like them that much and in the end turns out that well there's more

cons for me personally, so I don't make them. So yeah it's always good to

weigh pros and cons. The sixth question is what themes would you like to see

less of or more of in books? And for me less of, definitely, love triangles! Now if

a love triangle is well done, well explained, that there's a sense to it? No

problem! But more often than not the love triangle doesn't make sense! It's just a

love triangle between three of the main characters and there's no real sense to

it! it's just there because it can be there! That's not something I like seeing!

It's just a waste of ink! So yeah, that's what I wouldn't like to see as much of

if possible! And what I'd like to see more isn't really a theme but more the

unexpected! I like seeing something that I didn't expect! When I'm reading a book,

if I put the book down I'll be thinking about the book until the next time I

could pick it up and that is coming up with possible scenarios, possible ways

the story could go and I like when a book brings me down a route I didn't

expect! And that is what I like seeing in books! So if I can see more of that and less

books that are "oh yeah I kind of knew that was gonna happen" I'd be really

happy! I'm not saying that they don't already exist I just want to see so so

many more of those! That would be really cool The seventh question is what are some of

your booktube goals! Well, I want to make more friends on booktube that's a clear

one! I would love that! I want to do more collabs and I want to make things that are new! I

want to create something that doesn't exist yet on booktube and whether that

is by working together with other people and creating something sketch wise or

other that is just really different or on my own just coming up with an idea, a

way of filming a video differently? I just want to bring something different and

yeah we'll see how that works! I'm constantly

looking into ways of bringing maybe something that I see in an other type of

video or in another medium into my videos and maybe at some point I'll find

something that I'm like yes that is what I want to do! Whether it's by adapting it

from somewhere else or coming up with something completely new I think that

would be fun! The eighth question is what advice do you have for booktubers who

just started out? Well, read what you like and make the videos you want to make! I...

There's nothing really more to say. If you don't like one of the common video

types that are out there: book hauls, TBRs, wrap-ups, tags. If there's something you

don't want to do, just don't do it! It's up to you to do whatever you want with

your channel! As I was saying earlier, I don't do book hauls. It doesn't stop me

from making videos! I enjoy making videos. I still make videos about books the

whole time and I think it's important that people don't feel pressured into

because everyone else is doing it that they have to do it! And the same thing

applies for books if everyone is talking about a book you don't necessarily have

to go out there and buy it just because everyone else is talking about it! You

don't necessarily have to read it because everyone else is talking about

it! Just read what you want! And if a book does sound interesting and everyone is

talking about it, by all means, go ahead! But don't just read something or do

something because everyone else is doing it!

Question 9 is what qualities or traits do you look for in other booktubers when

deciding what to watch? And well, I just look for people who are passionate about

books! That's pretty much it! I mean that's pretty much everyone on booktube!

But basically I just love watching videos at books no matter who, no matter

what genre the books are in! I like seeing people passionate about things!

And that is all I look for! Question ten is what is a fun fact or a hobby that

you have that other people on booktube wouldn't know that you have? Well, I can

juggle! Juggling is fun! And now I just hope that I don't hit the

microphone! I haven't really practiced, so yeah! This is where I hope this isn't a

bad idea! I think I might actually move the microphone away just for this

because this might be a bad idea otherwise! I don't want to break my

microphone! There! further away! Now I hope I don't hit the computer there!

I haven't done this in a while!

question 11: Who do you tag! What I want to do from now on when I'm

doing tag videos is I want to tag both people

I've been following and I really want to tag and also people I really want to tag

but who've just started out! Partly because I want to make them feel more

welcome in the community in general I want them also to be maybe more

noticed! And yeah, by doing so I'll be leaving links to all

the people I tagged in the description down below, so feel free to go and check

them out! Without further ado, who do I tag? I'm tagging YouFoundMarina, clarareadsbooks,

Spinsters' Library, Jessica breathe and read, bookish land, the Dyslexic Reader,

Teller of Tales, Irish reader, This Story Ain't Over and Emma Lou! I look

forward to seeing all of your videos! I hope you enjoyed this video! I will leave

you with my most recent video on this side and a video I think you're really

going to like! That's all for me, bye!

What Is Thought, Thinking And Memory? | J. Krishnamurti - Duration: 10:01.

Hello everyone, my name is Andrew and welcome to the video.

So today I would like for us to explore into thought, thinking and memory.

And also, I would like us to ask ourselves the question, "Can thinking ever be clear?

Is there such a thing as clear thinking at all?"

Now I know I made a previous video about thought, thinking and memory, but I want to explore

much deeper in this video, because these are very important concepts to get familiar with,

to understand.

We use these mental processes everyday in our lives.

So I feel that it is very important to go into these, especially at a deeper level.

What is the origin of memory?

How does memory come about?

Where does it all start?

So our sensory inputs, like seeing, touching, smelling, tasting, all that is going on in

the active present (right now).

And the brain records this right?

It records it as experiences and the experiences are stored in our brain cells as knowledge.

And now this knowledge is accumulated over time right?

And this bundle of accumulated knowledge as a collection is memory right?

It's like the storehouse of all of the experiences we have gone through.

So memory, knowledge, experience, is always old, it's gone, it's basically dead, material,

stuff, that we are examining and analyzing when we go into it ourselves.

Now thinking is a bit more intricate, especially to my limited understanding of it.

So I'm thinking... now when I ask myself the question, let's take for example, "What

is my name?"

Immediately I can respond, "Andrew" or if I ask myself, "Where do I live?"

Virginia.

And yet, when I ask myself the question, "What is thinking?"

There is this lapse in time right?

What is thinking?

It's like I'm actually thinking right?

And I can't express or explain what the thinking process actually is and why is that?

Why is it with this particular question, such as, "What is my name?"

Why is it that I can respond so readily, so quickly, versus when I ask, "What is thinking?"

It's like this interval, this gap of silence that interferes with the answer that I'm trying

to say or trying to come up with.

Isn't it because we have repeated our names, the answers to our personal lives, like we

repeated those over and over and over again.

So the brain is so used to that, it's so familiar, it's like in a habit of just quickly

responding.

What's your name?

Andrew.

It's like caught in this automatic mode versus we're introduced with a question that we rarely

would answer or talk about, especially in education today.

Education today is the general Mathematics, English, Social Studies, all of that.

We don't really go into our own mental processes or thinking so when presented with this question,

"What is thinking?"

It's like "I" as knowledge, as memory, as a

thought, am probing into memory right?

Memory being the collection of knowledge, the storehouse of thoughts.

So I am probing into this, when this challenge, when this question, is put to me.

I probe into memory and I investigate.

I try to find an answer.

I try to find something that I've already heard or experienced as knowledge in the past,

in order to respond to this challenge, this question.

So isn't thinking the responding of memory to a question or to a challenge?

Question is just an example, but to any challenge?

So memory is always responding, the past is always responding to a challenge when we are

thinking.

So that leads to thought right now.

Thought is like the result, the final product of memory.

When we come to an answer that is a thought right?

So thought is the response of memory to a challenge or to a question and that response,

since it is born from memory, which is old, which has already happened as we have gone

into it.

Memory is only what we've already experienced it is not the active now.

So therefore, our response to any challenge is always old, is already dead, already gone

and is also the response of memory, which is thought.

And thinking is the responding of memory, because we're probing into memory, trying

to investigate and find out.

Could it be this?

Could the answer be that?

Hmm and then memory is that collection, that storehouse of knowledge and information.

Now I want us to dive into the question, because we've gone into this, I want us to dive into

now, "Can thinking ever be clear?"

So what do we mean by clear?

By clear I mean like direct perception.

We see something without any obstruction, without any fog.

So it is like looking through a window without any smoke in the way, clear.

Thinking is abstract right?

Our thoughts are like pieces of life, which is whole, which is total, and we think in

certain particular experiences that have happened, which is in the past, already gone.

So it's not living right now.

Where "Now" the "Present" is active in living and always new right?

So therefore, can thinking ever be clear in this sense?

Now Krishnamurti used an awesome example that I will share with you all.

He said that, "When we are thinking, it is like we are looking back past our shoulder,

looking in the past.

And when we're looking over our shoulder we're not seeing the present "Now" what's

actively going on.

So when we are thinking, when memory is responding to "Now" to life, to any challenge, it

is like smoke and fog that is going on.

Abstract patterns of the past, of traditions, of cultures that have been thoroughly indoctrinated

into us our entire lives for many many years.

So is that clear?

Or is that already old?

Is that just stuff that is in the way of the newness, active present, that is always forming

and changing anew.

We can never capture it so I'll just leave that for ourselves to kind of examine and

find out for ourselves.

But yeah, that's that's all I wanted to share and go into with you all in this video.

Thank you for watching and listening and as always, stay awesome and I'll see you in the

next video.

Bye bye.

The Weekend Wrap Up. C.Handler Is Libtarded, Facebook Wants Your Nudes And I Did Some Dumb Shit. - Duration: 10:17.

thanks for watching I'm B.W. Howe and this is my weekend wrap-up where I go over

some of the videos that I made earlier in the week and add anything you know

maybe some new evidence came up answer some comments or questions from any of

my subscribers and pretty much just go over in case you didn't have a chance to

watch some of the videos during the week this will get you up to speed if you're

new to this channel make sure you hit the subscribe button so that way you get

updates on all my latest videos and with that being said let's get into it one of

the videos that I made earlier in the week was about Chelsea Handler the

talk-show host of Chelsea Lately anyway this dumb bitch essentially

blamed the church shooting that happened in Texas on Republicans I'll throw the

tweet up on the screen so you can see it but in my opinion it was just it was

ridiculous you know I'm sick and tired I don't give a fuck what side you're on ER

okay if you're on the left you're on the right but why why are these fucking

celebrities right especially these liberal leftist celebrities why are they

always just trying to further the divide okay to say to say that was it was it

was an horrible taste for one but it doesn't even make any sense okay

regardless if you believe or agree with our gun control laws as they are the

fact of the matter remains had not a man been there with one of this with an

assault rifle that you probably the person problem would have killed a lot

more people you know a civilian stepped in because you know a simple fact of the

matter is everybody you know the argument is to disarm people you know

here's the thing okay average police response time and

I've read the stats I don't have them on hand so this is going to be an

approximate so don't blame me in the goddamn comments if I'm off by a fucking

percent okay this is an approximation but generally the average police

response time is double that of the average length of a shooting okay so

that means by the time that the police get there it's already done okay so my

argument for gun control has always been very simple all right one of the things

that Adolf Hitler did in Germany right before he rose to power

he enforced serialization of firearms then he took away anything but hunting

rifles and then eventually he said you know what we're just gonna take you

don't need a gun right you have you have the you have the government to protect

you you have the the entire army German army to protect you see the problem with

that is once you're disarmed and something happens like that there's no

way for you to rise up and stop a psychopath who's intent on murdering

lines millions of people okay now some people all that can never happen America

bullshit okay it can happen anywhere and if you don't think so then you're

fucking idiot all right those who those who disregard and ignore history they're

just doomed to repeat it okay so the saying that that could never

happen especially in today's climate you know with everybody divided on anything

you know a lot of people feel we're on the brink of the Civil War

you know so to disarm Americans or to allow yourself to be disarmed by the

government assuming they're gonna protect you well then you're just you're

just not even living in a dreamland so I'm not gonna get too deep into gun

control in this one I just wanna you know Chelsea Handler Chelsea Lately

whatever the fuck your name is you fuckin turkeyneck fucking Buzzard you're

a fucking asshole period end of story to blame Republicans for a church shooting

in a church mask and maybe maybe you should congratulate the Republican that

ended up stopping him and as far as I know the guy who was stopped was a

liberal atheist but anyway since that's neither here nor there your political

affiliation does does not constitute your ability to create a fuck to be a

horrible fucking person or to to enact one of these heinous crimes okay so

let's just agree to disagree whether you're on the left for the right was a

horrible thing and whether you believe in gun control or not you know the fact

of the matter is a civilian was the one who stopped him not the police so let

that sink into your noggin one of the other stories that I had done was I

printed a I filmed a retraction based upon one of my other videos in that

retraction was the auntie fo sign at the mic Serna bitch rally at Columbia

University that said no pedo bashing I made a video you know saying the left

supports pedophile says you know I was being dramatic but anyways the fact of

the matter is it was a troll and as soon as the sign as soon as the protesters

saw what was on the sign they ripped it down

okay so regardless I don't know with aunt Eva they haven't come out to say

that they support nabla North American man-boy love Association it was a troll

some people think it was Mike sterner that you who actually set it up I can

talk about I'm gonna talk about him a whole another time because he's a whole

nother fucking headcase but anyways so I do apologize for any of my viewers or

just anybody I do not now and never will even though my show is really more of a

you know I like to it's like a parody not a parody I bring up real events but

I I try to see the humor in them I will never purposely spread fake news or

falsities and if I find out that something that I said turn out to be

false I'll be the first one to admit that I was wrong and I was wrong on this

one and thank you Alex for bringing that to my to my attention and I also started

a podcast which you know I'm gonna be doing probably I don't know maybe once

or twice a week I didn't film the actual podcast this time around I will next

time it's just a an audio I broke it up into three different sections cuz I was

you know went on for about 30 minutes if you want check that out it's me and

Kathleen who is actually a sex therapist talking about various things in that why

people feel so uncomfortable talking with their partner about it but anyways

check that out if you haven't I'd love to know your thoughts on it

and the other thing the last video that I made which was about Facebook and a

experimental program that they have instituted in Australia to fight revenge

porn now here's the thing facebook wants you to send nude pictures of yourself

and videos of yourself to them so they can create a digital database so in the

event that you flags let's say you flag a photo you know I take

you know these take a dick pic and you send it to your old lady right you can

flag that photo so if she tries to send it to somebody else without your

permission it'll block it okay now that's all well and good but here's the

thing all right Facebook already get gathers all this

information about you they know your date of birth where you live where you

work who your friends are you know it's it's getting kind of crazy like at what

point do we just stops whoa just pump the brakes you know and in my opinion

it's a violation of fucking product to ask somebody to do that it's it's

ridiculous and you know some lawyer from freaking England you know she was like

well you know I respect I'd suspect that you know Facebook has really good

safeguards in place to protect their users well you're a fucking idiot okay

if you think that you think that there's no unhackable uncrackable system you're

foolish okay let's forget about on the iCloud shit got half there you know

Ashley masse and whatever the case is like all it's gonna take is either

somebody to hack it or you know when you're transmitting those images they

can be captured or crack their database and now boom you're gonna end up on

fucking 4chan or reddit with your fucking tits hanging out okay so I don't

think you know I think Facebook is taking more liberties than the goddamn

government which also needs to take a step back you know so be careful or be

cognizant at least to the fact of what you're giving to people but you know

into anytime a company or a government or anything anytime anybody tells me oh

well it's for your own good bullshit has anybody ever as a sentence

ever started with that and fucking ended out to be for your own good no it's

usually some sort of power trip or power struggle you know I'm pretty sure

actually Hitler said the same fucking thing in World War two when he disarmed

the Germans you know it's free your own good will protect you okay listen it's

nice that it's sure it's nice to have protection or somebody who you think

might protect you but the fact of the matter is you need to leave it up to

yourself to protect your okay and too much nowadays what I'm

seeing is people are relying on other people to do that like you can't rely on

anybody but yourself a lot of the time but you know don't don't think for a

second that Facebook or the government are gonna do things that are not in

their best interests and in the case of a company like Facebook their best

interest is making more money okay so think about that whenever they ask you

whenever something somebody's asks you for something think about what the

underlying motivation is because a lot of things in this life are a

manipulation you know and it's it's up to you to figure it out a lot of times

don't be a sucker don't be a sheep thanks for watching I really appreciate

it guys Chris Fragger thank you very much for

sending me the information on those articles you know I used one of my

It's another thing to praise them for ripping America off.

After all,

I give China great credit.

(applause)

Wow. I never thought I would hear an American president

tell his geopolitical adversary,

"Well played, guys. We had it coming.

Yeah, we had it coming."

And Trump's tone on this trip went beyond just politeness.

He praised Xi in person

President Xi, I want to thank you

Saudi Arabia's Political Purge: The Daily Show - Duration: 5:11.

There has been a lot of news this week out of Saudi Arabia,

which is basically America's kooky rich uncle

who occasionally beheads people.

We all have one.

But over the weekend,

the kingdom went through some serious turmoil.

TV REPORTER: Breaking news.

TV REPORTER: Breaking news out of Saudi Arabia.

Palace intrigue to the nth degree.

We're seeing a truly historic upheaval unfold right now.

A royal purge in Saudi Arabia.

Rounding up several high profile people.

Major arrests in Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, a Saudi prince and several colleagues

were killed in a helicopter crash on Sunday.

Saudis also intercepted a ballistic missile,

that missile fired from Yemen.

TV REPORTER: What in the world is going on in Saudi Arabia?

The biggest story by far, is the heir to the throne,

Prince Mohammed bin Salman, right?

Who has been arresting most of the other princes,

a sheik-ton of them,

and Saudi Arabia has-- thank you--

-Saudi Arabia... -(laughter and applause)

Saudi Arabia, Saudi Arabia has more princes

than a Minneapolis Halloween party.

It's so hard to keep track of these people.

And that's what makes this story peculiar, right?

Saudi Arabia is ruled by one big family, the House of Saud.

So right now, we don't really know

if we need to send in the UN, or Andy Cohen.

And the kingdom is calling this a crackdown

on corrupt princes, but I don't know if you buy it,

because they're Saudi princes.

Like, what do you mean "corruption"?

Like, they already have all the money.

Just look at this prince's private airplane.

Look at that. That's his normal ride.

How do you bribe that guy?

As, as it turns out, as it turns out,

there might be more going on here than just corruption.

What's being presented as a crackdown on corruption,

in my opinion, that's a total smoke screen for what this is,

is an abrupt consolidation of power

by the crown prince and the elimination of rivals.

Wait a minute.

Consolidating power and getting rid

of his political rivals.

I wonder how President Trump feels about this whole thing?

President Trump is responding

to the rapidly moving developments in Saudi Arabia.

In two tweets yesterday, Trump endorsed

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's

new corruption crackdown, tweeting, quote,

"I have great confidence in King Salman

"and the crown prince of Saudi Arabia.

They know exactly what they are doing."

Of course, Trump loves this.

Locking up political rivals is Trump's wet dream.

He probably phoned the prince and he was like,

(mimics Trump): "Is it true? It is true

that you're locking up all the enemies?" He's like,

(Egyptian accent): "That's right, Donald. All of them.

(mimics Trump): "Even Hillary?

(Egyptian accent): "No, Donald, this is a different country.

(mimics Trump); Oh, sad."

(laughter and applause)

(normal voice): Now, now, look, I'm not saying

that Trump endorsed these arrests,

but I'm not saying that he didn't.

The crown prince now has ties to Jared Kushner,

Trump's son-in-law and senior advisor,

who actually took an unannounced trip to Saudi Arabia

just days before this mass purge,

and was reportedly up until 4:00 a.m.,

hanging out with the crown prince.

Oh. Goddamn, J. Kush and the prince up till 4:00 a.m.

Yeah. What could they possibly have been doing--

Oh, yeah. Probably like,

♪ Ah... ♪

Now...

now, to be fair, to be fair,

the situation in Saudi Arabia

is a lot more complicated than that, right?

The crown prince isn't just trying to grab power,

he's also trying to modernize Saudi Arabia.

Side-lining the old guard could let him diversify the economy,

and expand women's rights.

So the kingdom might become more autocratic,

but it also might become more free,

which is a paradox, you know?

It's like how not being monogamous

can actually strengthen a relationship, you know?

I mean, I'm, I'm not saying that would be a good idea,

I'm-I'm just saying experts have found this to be true.

Which a couple could test if certain people weren't so rigid,

but I'm just pointing that out.

But no matter what the reasons, long story short,

long story short, these princes are being detained

and Saudi Arabia being Saudi Arabia,

they're being held in Riyadh's harshest accommodations.

11 princes and nearly 40 current or former officials detained,

reportedly being held at the lavish Ritz Carlton

in Saudi Arabia in Riyadh.

Arrested at the Ritz Carlton? Wow.

That's how you know your country's rich,

the world's best hotel is your prison.

It definitely makes it hard to complain about being oppressed.

"I am been caged like an animal!

"My rights are being curtailed!

Alexa, play some mood music!"

And the warden is probably like, "Hey, quiet down,

or you go to the Marriott!"

"No!"
