The University of Music Detmold has an excellent reputation internationally
and also produced many well-known musicians.
At present, a young violinist from Azerbaijan draws attention to herself.
Farida Rustamova has already won several awards
and is also regularly on the stage nationwide in parallel to her studies in Detmold, Germany.
This is Farida Rustamova.
For five years, the 24-year-old studied at the University of Music Detmold.
Early on, the young woman from Azerbaijan started with music.
The first time I played with orchestra, I was six years old
and it was a very nice experience.
But I have to say, I really did not realize this,
in the sense that the excitement was not there.
I just came to the stage as a little girl, took my violin
and then I just started playing.
The unselfconsciousness on stage seems to be in the family
because music has been going on for three generations.
Grandfather said Rustamov was a very well-known composer and musician.
Farida himself knew early on that she wanted to study in Germany.
The fact that she came to Detmold, she finds good today.
I can safely say that Detmold has become my second home.
I love this city very much.
There are many opinions.
Of course, the city is much smaller compared to Berlin or other major cities.
But I find it has its charm and it is very familistic here.
Not only the music keeps her in Detmold,
but also the friends she found here.
She meets them regularly in the city
and of course it is about her favorite subject, the music.
The violin of Farida Rustamova is almost 300 years old.
It is worth a fortune.
Farida Rustamova plays it in solo, duo or with the Young Philharmonic OWL
and for us she also plays her violin exceptionally in the open nature,
according to the music of Sibelius.
I am of course a classical musician, but I also like other music styles.
In my spare time, I listen for example Queen or the singer Sting
which I like very much.
So far, the musical career of Farida Rustamova was very successful.
Completing her Bachelor and Master degree with Grade 1.0 with distinction
and now master's degree in chamber music in Detmold.
Nevertheless, for her future she has completely different plans.
Since I come from a family of teachers and in my family, are generations of teachers,
my father was a teacher, whose father was a teacher, whose father was also a teacher,
I would be very fortunate if I could later pass on my knowledge
to the younger Generations.
It would be a great dream of mine to work as a music professor.
