I'm Michael Long, I'm from Darwin in the Northern Territory, and this is my story.

Family is pretty important to me, I mean it's pretty much who you are. Obviously coming

from a big family we sort of relied on each other.

Seven boys and two girls...my mother died at a very young age so we

all depended on each other. So, a pretty unique position as as a young kid but

you really didn't have a childhood...that was sort of taken away from you,

but that's why I'm pretty close to my family and that's why I've moved back to Darwin.

What did I want to be when I grew up?

I think football has always been a part of our family

my father coached...I had six other brothers who played football and you

always wanted to ultimately be a footballer, or a VFL footballer (back when I

first started), so that's always been a lifelong dream and probably been an

important one because footy has been a big part of our social life and

what my mum saw in us as well, you know? That's probably...

something that's been really important to our family.

I love what I'm doing now obviously, working with kids and around education and using football as a

as a vehicle to do that to get our kids back into school. Now with The

Long Walk and reaching out to people that still need to be part of

what's gonna be the vision for Indigenous people in the future - and that's working

with kids. So that's probably still my passion today - where it started with

The Long Walk in 2004 - in our first ever school we visited,

and that still continues today. How do we discuss that?

It's about people, you know - black and white working together because ultimately

politicians can only do so much but it's about the people who actually can do it,

together, and that's why we try and bring people together.

I'm Michael Long. I'm a proud Tiwi Anmatjerre man. I hope that I'm playing my

part in giving the next generation an opportunity in life, whether it be in the

US President Donald Trump has done away with threats of war and astonishingly claimed he

would be prepared to sit down with Kim Jong-un.

The extraordinary comments come as Trump kicked off his five-nation Asia tour in Japan on

Sunday.

He said: "I don't think it's strength or weakness, I think sitting down with people

is not a bad thing.

"So, I would certainly be open to doing that (sitting down with Kim) but we'll see

The US president did admit, however, that he would not open talks with Kim anytime in

the near future.

Trump added: "I think we're far too early."

His tone differs sharply with the more hotheaded remarks he made over the weekend.

The self-proclaimed deal-maker told troops at Yokota airbase near Tokyo that Kim should

not "underestimate the US".

He said: "No one, no dictator, no regime, no nation should underestimate American resolve.

"Every once in a while, in the past, they underestimated us.

It was not pleasant for them, was it?"

Trump's harsh comments come after Pyongyang put the US and its allies on high alert after

it fired several missiles over Japan, which prompted the US president to step up military

drills in the region.

Recently the US sent two strategic bombers over South Korea, which further raised tensions

with the secretive North.

Daily Star Online revealed the monstrous arsenal at Trump's fingertips as he faces down North

A Day in Hanok - Duration: 5:54.

Eaves create a beautiful scene with the blue sky with a narrow wooden porch running along

the outside of rooms keeping a record of time.

Hanok, Korean traditional house, with hundreds of years of history are taking us back in

time during autumn.

Andong is a small city in Gyeongsangbuk-do Province where traditional culture is embedded

in the whole region.

The Nakdonggang River, the longest river in Korea, flows through the city.

The river offers peaceful, serene scenery, and there is hanok against Yeongnamsan Mountain.

Over the stone wall, a majestic traditional house captures the eye.

It is called Imcheongak.

Imcheongak is open for everyone.

Also, some 40 big and small parts of the house capture the passing of time.

The in-house cultural commentator provides an insight into history.

The house must be a pleasant surprise for these children who are used to modern housing.

next generations to learn about Korean history and enjoy its imposing beauty.

Preservation will be the key."

Imcheongak was built in 1519... about 500 years ago, famous for its size?99 rooms? and

For the same reason, the descendants are currently using 7 rooms as a guesthouse after minimal

maintenance work.

About 10 square meters in size, the room looks cozy and humble.

This place brings the natural world inside, a signature trait of hanok.

Therefore, guests can get a glimpse into the way Korean ancestors enjoyed nature and life.

It's a wonderful place."

The Lee clan of Andong was a noble family where 7 independence patriots came from.

The house was a cradle of Korean independence movement during Japanese occupation.

And Japan built a railroad just 7m away from the house in response to their participation

in the independence movement.

During the construction process, about half of the house was lost.

back and the river in front.

Along the river was a path leading to the upper area.

Also, there were many houses around Imcheonggak, including some thatch-roofed homes, which

were all destroyed for the construction of the railway."

The railway noise and vibrations still damage the cultural heritage.

The good thing is the double tracking of the railway is currently under construction, and

the house will be able to maintain an adequate distance from the railway soon.

More guests visit the house at sunset.

The owner serves chrysanthemum tea and Korean sweets to the guests who had to make a long

journey to the house.

It's their way of expressing their gratitude to people who treasure the cultural value

of Imcheongak.

The guests enjoy a night walk with that dim light.

Everything is very different from the city's night.

Then we hear tranquil music from this old traditional house.

The daegeum , Korean bamboo flute, and the haegeum , Korean string, present beautiful

harmony.

The autumn night is getting deeper, and the 500-year old hanok enjoys another beautiful

night.

Light Yagami - Justice or BOREDOM? (Death Note) | PhulAnalyses - Duration: 5:02.

Light Yagami and L are my two favourite characters of Death Note, and for good reason.

They both represent two sides of my favourite conflict in all of fiction (I dunno if I'm

just saying that because I'm currently in the Death Note mood), they are both such complex

characters, and there is a ton to analyze and theorize about them.

Now today, I'll take a look at this anime's famous protagonist, Light Yagami, with a lot

of spoilers thrown in.

*INTRO*

So a lot of people like to label this guy as a psychopath, and it fits quite well.

He has no problem killing people, whether they're innocent or not, and, despite being

very popular and having lots of friends, he doesn't socialize with them a lot.

This was shown in the first few episodes of the show, and is something very important

concerning his character.

Now, people rather don't label him as a psychopath, but a lot of fans say he's a

sociopath, so he developed these antisocial qualities over time thanks to the murders

of the Death Note, rather than being born with these traits.

Now, we clearly see him not socializing with friends even before he had the Death Note,

and, yet, he's still a sociopath?

Well, as you can see in the Yotsuba arc, the arc where Light and Misa lost their memories

and passed it onto the Yotsuba company to clear their names, Light is shown to be very

innocent, and has a lot of empathy or compassion towards practically everyone.

He even said that he wouldn't dare manipulate someone's feelings, and, as Kira, Light

does this practically all the time like it's a normal thing to do.

He did this with Naomi Misora, with Misa, with Rem, with the Task Force, and with several

other people.

Also, despite having the same ideals as Kira, he still would never actually murder someone.

It seems non-Kira Light is actually a deontologist in his actions, which means that morality

is defined in terms of duty or obligation, very different from Light's Kira persona.

But then, why did he act so differently as seen in the first episode, before he picked

up the notebook?

Why so bored?

Why so antisocial?

Why so, well to be blunt, pissed?

Well, it's just as I had said, he was bored.

To elaborate, look at one of my favourite scenes from one of my favourite episodes,

episode 1, when Ryuk and Light first meet.

After killing a ton of criminals using the Death Note in a short amount of time, Ryuk

then arrives.

Light is ready to give up his soul, but Ryuk assures him that that is not his intention;

Ryuk wants to get rid of his boredom.

Light is surprised, and emphasizes with Ryuk, stating that what he's doing is out of boredom

as well.

Then, he declares that he'll be justice.

This implies that he still has justice as a motivator, but it is mainly out of boredom.

Furthermore, in episode 2, while Light is creating the system to hide his Death Note,

Light explains that he's studying to become a detective, like his dad.

This means that he intended to get rid of crime by being a detective.

This means that his main motive is to be one (that is, until he gets the Death Note, where

he finds a quicker and far more efficient way to get rid of crime), as he is studying

to be one, meaning that this is pretty much his main goal.

Just what am I getting at?

What I'm saying is that in the Yotsuba arc, when Light is not bored, he is working as

he always wanted to, so he is more kind and empathetic.

It was his boredom that made him act antisocial.

But then when he gets the opportunity, when his dream finally comes true, he acts kinder

and more like his father.

It is because of this boredom that he picked up the notebook, he finally saw an opportunity

to not be bored, and so he used his sense of justice, his hatred towards criminals,

as an excuse to kill and get rid of the boredom.

Over time, his boredom would develop into pure sociopathy, killing innocents to get

what he wants, manipulating people's feelings, laughing like a maniac, with his sense of

justice slowly going away, becoming his lust for power and to kill.

You can still see that he has his sense of justice in the second half, when his insanity

is nearing its peak, as he gets pissed when Mikami kills innocents, and it is definitely

not to ruin his reputation as he is already known to kill innocents at times.

But, it is at the very, very final episode when his insanity is at its full peak, when

his true face is unmasked.

He finally cracks, with him not being motivated by justice anymore.

He insults Soichiro for having a strong sense of justice himself, and he uses the good things

he achieved as an excuse for Near to not condemn Light when he is caught, desperately attempting

to do anything regardless of how amoral it is just to save his ass.

Now Light is a very loved character, and I can understand why.

I mean, he's relatable, yet unique, while being a complex character.

The DoF is very messed up here, thats just my personal settings from DSfix, I did not change these yet.

What you're seeing here is that the camera stays where your body would be. It does not account for animations such as this.

Here, I get tricked by the DoF and take a few hits to the face.

Also, look these fucking amazing parry timings.

Here I switch weapons to show something else;

The Dark Sword has that lovely twirling attack, but your character does not actually turn while doing it.

Again, amazing parries being done here.

Halberds and Spears work very nicely with the First Person mode.

But, as you can see here, the shield clips into the camera at times, or rather, clips into my eyeballs.

Okay, hold on here for a moment. The visuals get really rough. Like, really fucking rough.

The R2 on the Halberd however, is hard to see and fucks with my perception.

Look at this King's Field shit though, I love it.

Look at me being so fucking smooth over here.

U-ugh

Also a fun one, Andre is one of the few, if not the only NPC whose mouth moves.

A man opened fire inside a church in a small south Texas community on Sunday, killing more

than 20 people and wounding at least 10 others.

The exact number of victims at the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs isn't confirmed,

but officials do say the gunman fled in a vehicle and was killed either by a self-inflicted

wound or during a confrontation with police.

President Donald Trump is warning Sunday that "no dictator should underestimate" the United

States.

He began his Asia tour that's expected to be dominated by the North Korean nuclear crisis,

first stop Japan, and he spoke to a cheering crowd of military personnel on Sunday at Yokota

Air Base that's just west of Tokyo after he put on a bomber jacket presented to him.

President Trump also set to make his case to Asian allies and also rivals about the

need to counter North Korea's nuclear threat.

It's a 12-day, five-country trip.

All the Trump administration's environmental regulator is set to speak privately to chemical

industry executives next week.

Environmental Protection Agency [Scott] chief Scott Pruitt is listed as the featured speaker

at a meeting of the American Chemistry Council, which has lobbied against stricter regulations

for chemical manufacturers.

The masked militants set off a large car bomb outside a security headquarters in Yemen's

The oral cholera vaccination campaign, which is being led by the World Health Organization,

is targeting nearly 180,000 children between the ages of one and five years.

They will receive an additional dose of the vaccine for added protection.

WHO spokesman Tarik Jasarevic says health workers also will give all children up to

the age of five oral polio vaccines during the campaign to protect them against this

crippling disease.

More than 600,000 Rohingya refugees escaping violence in Myanmar have arrived in Cox's

Bazar since late August.

They are living in congested, squalid, unsanitary makeshift settlements - a perfect breeding

ground for cholera and other diseases.
