Easy and Delicious Low Carb Almond Cookies – Keto Cookies - Duration: 3:15.

Welcome all! Papa G here. Today I present low carbohydrate almond cookies. This is a very

easy recipe to make when that Cookie Monster in all of us comes a-knockin'.

With under one and a half carbohydrates per cookie, you'll be able to stay low carbohydrate

while enjoying family gatherings, holidays, or when you just want a sweet

little afternoon snack - perfect with a cup of coffee or hot tea. Let's get started.

Begin by pouring eight tablespoons of melted,

unsalted butter into a large mixing bowl. Add a granulated sugar substitute equal

to one cup of regular sugar. Mix to combine.

Add a lightly beaten egg and mix thoroughly.

Now we'll add just a bit of salt and a little almond extract. Give another mix

to combine. Our final ingredient is almond flour. We'll be using three cups total -

but only adding at 1 cup at a time. This will help to ensure we don't have any

dry clumps in the finished product and makes it a lot easier to mix. After we've

roughly mixed in the last cup of flour, finish, using our hands to mix and blend.

Work the dough until no more dry flour is visible. Grab about a tablespoon of

the cookie dough and roll it with your hands to form a small ball; about three

quarters of an inch in size. Continue until all the dough is rolled. I finished

with 26 cookies, but depending on the size of the dough balls, you may have a

little more or less. Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment

paper, being careful not to overcrowd. With your hands and fingers, gently press

down on each dough ball and form a round cookie. To give our cookies a nice little

touch, press a thinly sliced almond to the center of each cookie.

Brush the tops with a thin coating of egg white. And for our final touch,

sprinkle a small amount of granulated sugar substitute to the tops. Place the

cookies in the middle of a preheated 325°F oven for 25 minutes or until

nicely golden. When they're done, remove from the oven and place on a rack to

cool. These cookies have the perfect texture and taste - perfect for dunking!

There you have it folks! My low carbohydrate almond cookies. Easy to prepare and

delicious to eat - by themselves or enjoy with a nice hot cup of coffee.

G-Star exhibition to help Korean gaming recover from 'lost decade' - Duration: 2:17.

Hundreds of thousands of video game enthusiasts, along with game makers and vendors have gathered

at the Bexco Convention Center in Busan... for a global gaming exhibition -- G-Star.

The Korean gaming industry is still top-notch, and one of the biggest in the world, but it's

faced some headwinds recently Companies at this year's G-Star will be hoping

to turn things around.

Our Park Hee-jun takes us there.

For the Korean gaming industry, the last ten years have been called a "lost decade."

The past two administrations imposed new regulations on video games, one of them being the so-called

"shutdown law" which restricted player age and playing time to fight computer game addiction.

And this year things were especially tough, with China's de facto sanctions on South Korea

over the THAAD issue... effectively banning Korean games in a market that accounts for

over 40 percent of the local industry's exports.

But the new administration is taking a different approach to gaming, and with the thaw in relations

with China, game makers see business getting better.

(standup) ed: Mark "The gaming industry is aiming to recover

from its recent losses through G-star,...one of the world's biggest game conventions--and

this year's event is expected to be the largest yet."

The annual G-Star convention began Thursday in the southern port city of Busan.

More than 600 game companies from 30 different countries are taking part, and it's expected

to attract hundreds of thousands of gamers and business visitors during its four day

run.

(Korean) "This is the biggest gaming event of the year.

We want our booth to be a place where we can meet our users and interact with each other

through our games."

The highlight of this year's G-Star is E-sports.

Korea is one of the world's biggest markets for professional gaming, and here visitors

can watch live online competitions among teams from several different countries.

China's biggest game distributor, Tencent, has sent an exceptionally large group to G-Star...

to look for new business opportunities with Korean companies.

Plenty of other Chinese game makers have come too, in contrast to Beijing's recent restrictions

on doing business with South Korea.

Although it is uncertain how fast the local gaming industry will get back on its feet,...

G-Star is expected to play a part in the recovery through new promotions, business deals, and

by connecting the game makers with the players.

Doctors Tell Parents Newborn Is Dead, But When They Hand Baby To Mother A Miracle Occurs

It sounds like one of those riddles we told as kids that seemed impossible to answer:

"One baby was born first, but the other has been alive longer.

How is this possible?"

For the Ogg family, though, this is no riddle – it's their life.

In 2010, David and Kate Ogg were excitedly awaiting the birth of their twins.

But when Kate went into labor on March 25 at only 27 weeks, they grew concerned.

Kate gave birth to a boy and a girl.

She and David were ecstatic.

Just a few minutes later, though, doctors came back with some heartbreaking news.

They asked the parents if they had chosen a name for the boy yet.

The Oggs said they had named him Jamie.

Then the doctors told them Jamie hadn't made it.

His lungs were underdeveloped, they said; he hadn't been able to breathe.

Heartbroken, Kate asked if she could hold her son and say goodbye.

"I'd carried him inside me for only six months – not long enough – but I wanted

to meet him, and to hold him, and for him to know us," Kate recalled.

"We'd resigned ourselves to the fact that we were going to lose him, and we were just

trying to make the most of those last, precious moments."

The doctors brought Jamie over to her and laid the tiny baby on her chest.

Kate held her son, soaking in the only precious moments she would ever get with him…and

then something miraculous happened.

"He suddenly gasped.

Then he opened his eyes," Kate recalled.

Doctors said the movements were just reflexive and not a sign of life, but Kate's motherly

intuition told her otherwise.

Researchers have discovered that babies have a special set of nerves that are "exceedingly

sensitive" to pleasant human touch.

Skin-to-skin contact with their mothers releases oxytocin, which affects multiple areas of

their brains and makes their heartbeat and breathing more regular.

This so-called "kangaroo care" can also help minimize pain for babies.

Celeste Johnston, director of research at the McGill University School of Nursing in

Montreal, discovered that even just 15 minutes of skin-to-skin contact can help reduce pain

for babies.

Whenever she has to perform a painful procedure, such as a heel stick, she makes sure the babies

are held by their mothers first.

"I can't do control groups (with no skin-to-skin contact) anymore," she said, "because

I don't think it's ethical."

While medical professionals caution that holding a baby won't necessarily bring them back

from the dead, the evidence for the miraculous and healing powers of skin-to-skin contact

is overwhelming.

S. Korea no longer 'earthquake-safe' zone... two magnitude 5.0+ quakes in two consecutive years - Duration: 2:08.

It's now two years in a row that Korea's had major earthquakes, and that's got people worried

that the country is no longer safe from these kinds of natural disasters.

Japan, of course, has had devastating quakes and tsunamis, but those hadn't been nearly

as much of a concern on this side of the East Sea.

Lee Jeong-yeon explains.

South Korea was once again hit by an earthquake above magnitude five.

The tremors from the magnitude 5-point-4 earthquake were felt as far as Seoul, 300-kilometers

away from the epicenter in Pohang.

(stand-up) The earthquake in Pohang comes around a year

after the magnitude 5-point-8 earthquake that hit Gyeongju last year.

So amid growing concerns among the public that South Korea may not be an "earthquake-safe"

zone, here is what the expert has to say.

(Korean) "When we look at the earthquake patterns recorded

throughout South Korea's history, quakes have occurred everywhere on the peninsula.

They aren't limited to certain areas.

So we need to prepare for the possibility of the whole country being prone to big earthquakes

and take necessary precautions."

The expert explains that Pohang, where Wednesday's earthquake hit, is situated along what is

called an "active fault," a fault that has seen seismic activity during the last 10,000

years.

(Korean) "Through this earthquake, the fact that the

fault is active is now undisputable.

An active fault is always prone to earthquakes so we must keep a close watch on the region."

More than 40 aftershocks have occurred so far since the main tremor.

And although it had a lower magnitude than last year's quake, the Pohang quake has actually

caused more damage.

The main difference is that the depth of the of last year's Gyeongju earthquake was between

11 and 16 kilometers, and its epicenter was in a less populated area near the reservoir,

but Wednesday's quake was just nine kilometers below the city in Pohang.

Experts say that for now, earthquakes are nearly impossible to predict, but scientists

are trying to improve earthquake prediction technology and to come up with more diverse

ways to warn the public... so as to minimize fatalities.

When Tia Withers headed to Walmart to pick up some groceries, she thought it was just

going to be a regular old shopping day.

She had no idea that by the end of the day she would be a hero who had saved two precious

lives.

The Reynoldsburg, Ohio, woman had just finished running her errands and buckled her two kids

into the car when she noticed something that made her stop.

Standing next to a nearby car were a man, woman, and little boy.

At first, it looked like they were just a family out for a shopping trip, but as she

looked closer, Tia realized something wasn't right.

The woman and child looked terrified.

When the man turned his back for a second, the woman looked at Tia and mouthed five words

that left her cold:

"Help me, we've been kidnapped."

Stunned, Tia tried to wrap her mind around what she had just seen and figure out what

to do next.

Before she could get over to them, the man started yelling at the woman and child to

get back in the car, saying he would kill them if they didn't comply.

Knowing she didn't have a second to waste, Tia pulled behind the man's car, blocking

him so he couldn't escape.

Then she called 911.

Realizing he had been found out, the man angrily threw his car into reverse and slammed it

into Tia's car.

Scared for her own children's safety, Tia moved out of the way; but as the man fled

the parking lot, she stayed on his tail, all the while giving police details on his car

and location.

After a harrowing chase, police were finally able to apprehend the man.

Michael McKinney had kidnapped the woman and child after attempting to extort them for

money.

He had driven them all the way from North Carolina.

Police took McKinney to jail and charged him with kidnapping, extortion, and drug possession.

Thankfully, Tia trusted her gut when it told her something wasn't right and her bravery

and determination that day saved the mother and child's lives.

Overall, we think that limits have been a positive influence on the game.

Loch Ness of Scotland is able to accomodate its prehistoric monster

because of the enormous depth of the lake.

Forty-five hundred miles to the south of Loch Ness runs the deepest river in the world,

straddling the equator in the Republic of Congo.

With a depth reaching 750 feet,

the waters of the Congo River also hide a survivor of the age of dinosaurs,

a sauropod which the locals have given a name...

Mokele Mbembe.

As recently as 2012 organized parties have been traveling to Africa

to locate and photograph a living dinosaur resembling a Brontosaurus.

The Newmac Expedition was funded by Kickstarter in the amount of 29 thousand dollars, and

of the contingent of six young men, the oldest member was 28 years old.

According to the Florida Sun-Sentinel, a few days after their arrival in the Congo,

the party of Americans was swallowed by the jungle, never to return.

For hundreds of years tales of the gargantuan Mokele Mbembe

have been passed from one generation to the next, by the local Bantu people.

The name of the creature translates as, "one who stops the flow of the river".

The Bantu describe it as forty feet in length, with a long neck and a large pot-belly.

Although it is a herbivore and eats only foliage,

it is very territorial and

will gladly fight any hippopotamus or rhinocerous caught trespassing on its feeding grounds.

Sightings of the sauropod by Europeans begin in 1776, when

a French missionary to the region, Levi Bonaventure,

stumbled upon the gigantic footprints that are characteristic of Mokele Mbembe

which are three feet in diameter... not including the impression of its claws.

The beast was notorious for killing hippopotami, and it lived in caves along the river Congo.

The German surveyor of Cameroon, Freiherr von Stein, wrote an account in 1913 of

an animal larger than an elephant with smooth gray skin, a protracted flexible neck

and a long, muscular tail, like the tail of an alligator.

If a canoe approached it too nearly,

the Mokele Mbembe would attack the vessel, drowning the crew...

but it would not eat the bodies.

Its diet was entirely vegetable.

In 1932 Cryptozoologist Ivan T. Sanderson and his African guides

found tracks along one bank of the Congo River, consisting of a large footprint with three claws.

They heard a bellowing roar from a nearby swamp, with more volume than the trumpet of an elephant.

This was followed by the sharp report of a firearm in the distance,

[WEAPON FIRES IN THE DISTANCE]

which Sanderson believed to be from another party, hunting big game.

Then they heard a sound like a moving train, crashing through the brush.

The beast erupted from the jungle some distance downriver, and fell into the water.

Its head alone was as big as a hippopotamus.

The water swallowed it whole.

In Sanderson's opinion, the creature had been wounded.

The Nugent expedition of 1985 interviewed local inhabitants,

who were shown pictures of animal life, both modern and prehistoric.

In reponse to the question, what does the Mokele Mbembe look like,

they invariably identified the same image, a picture of a Brontosaurus.

The expedition leader Rory Nugent spotted something moving down the middle of the river.

He ran to launch his boat but was prevented from leaving shore.

The locals ordered him at gunpoint not to go near the behemoth.

The Congolese told him, "You may not approach, but if it so chooses, it may approach you."

There is physical evidence associated with the hunt for Mokele Mbembe.

The Regusters expedition of '81 returned with sound recordings

of a "low windy roar increasing to a deep throated blast".

In '92 members of a Japanese documentary crew were filming B-roll aerial footage from a small plane, when

the camera person captured film of an object, creating a considerable wake in the slowly moving waters below.

She filmed for 15 seconds before the thing submerged.

In 2006 the Milt Marcy Expedition returned from Cameroon with a plaster cast of a Mokèlé-mbèmbé footprint,

and in 2009 a History Channel team found the empty lair of the monster

in one bend of the Congo River, an underground cave with air vents.

The team also recorded sonar readings of a very long, very large serpentine shape, underwater.
