Once Around the Block with Kevin Chambers in Meridian Hill Park, Washington, D.C. - Duration: 11:22.
Hey everybody it's Edmond van der Bijl with another episode of once around the block...
I'm here with the one the only...Kevin Chambers aka Flash Frequency...
-Hello Kevin Chambers... -Yeah, and my son here too as well... -Can I put him on camera yeah go ahead!
-Okay, hey little guy, thanks for coming along...yeah so that's kind of an amazing thing is that
your first child? -Yes my first son, first...
Genesis...something out the bible, first chapter...
family is kind of like somewhat religious and all the other stuff so I thought it was right. -Nice! Hows it been treating
you? -Been treating me well...just now getting my sleep back...
he's doing a good like eight to ten hours sometimes during the night
...wake up once, feed him...
-Some parents will hate you that are watching others this...others will be jealous yeah...
...So what's going on...okay so Mr. Chambers I've been thinking about on the
drive over here... what a great name! -Oh Chambers? -It's a solid name! -Thank you! -Do you feel the same way?
-Yeah, I definitely feel good you know a good family name... -Yeah, strong! -Um, the original
name would you know where everybody derived from is from
Sanders family in Ohio...and I'm originally from Ohio, Akron born...and basically raised
in Texas. -Ok so...what was the path there? Just...
following work or... -Like moving from here to coming up.... -Yeah you started
in Akron you went you went to high school in San Antonio I saw...-Yeah yeah
actually my family is military I'm the only one who haven't went to the military...
thought about it multiple times and had good scores to get in but
you know just far as like what's going on with the presidency in
just like politics and everything ...my life was changed with the
multimedia and stuff. -Okay, was that a big issue in your family or
is a cool? Nah, they was actually cool with it... um they actually back me up 100%
and now I just work from home doing my multimedia stuff and take care of my son...
me and my girlfriend as well...and it's been lovely, still...can't complain. -Yeah you were...
like a really early messenger for me on Once Around the Block... -Right right... -Should we like hold on
a second and let her walk by...um, you wrote me a message really early on that
you thought that this was a pretty cool series. -Yeah because you definitely what
I like about the Once Around the Block is that you know you're grabbing a lot of
people who are known in this city or just have history with the city
that knows a lot about what they're doing yeah and as far as like how I was
raised as far as you know just like lower poverty like getting into like a
little middle class and stuff like that you know you always have people who are
supposed to be like OG's or just like the people who've been on the corner for
a long time and always give a good word and trying to give guidance...at the
same time you know to just be very knowledgeable and that's what I really
like about Once Around the Block is that yeah...I'm getting to know a lot of people who's on their
Street and yeah..I love it. -That's awesome I really appreciate that...I think that's the kind
of point you see I bring people together a little bit and write and show like our
human side you know... -Right right... -Speaking of blocks where are we right
now? -We're currently on 16th and Euclid ...not too far away from the Line
Hotel which is soon to be open and Adams Morgan and Meridian Hill Park is right
behind us. -Okay Meridian Hill Park is pretty famous here in DC...do
you hang out there sometimes? -Yeah, I go to the drum circle as much as I can...
sometimes I'd give him a walk yeah around the corner...(well, around the block) you know down there
but yeah I like it, it's pretty cool...everybody set up and got they...
do their picnics and play games out there and stuff so it's good to see...a lot
of people in the city still come thereand have fun. -Yeah so you're you're comfortable in this
neighborhood...did you kind of end up here or did you choose the this neighborhood ? -Kind of ended up...
a choice as far as um you know coming from
Oh, he's about to cry...no need to cry little man
it was more of um I was coming from Texas or what not...I didn't really like it
...as far as what's going on down there as far as policing and racial
profiling and stuff where I was at... never been a troubled person but I
always got pulled over because of the type of the car and I kind of got tired
of it and decided to move up here and the plus a lot of my music and the
business was going on in New York so I was always crossing Washington DC it
was just that uh it was just time for me to make that move how it was going on in
Texas and I was doing what I love in DC in New York so...ended it up here. -Cool
that sounds pretty intense your experience in San Antonio is it it's
obviously not the same here I don't know is it? No, not at all
down there it's...there's a lot of...I grew up around like Hispanics down there
yeah Latinos, Spanish-speaking folks...and it's more than like a logistical
type state...They care more about like Tejano music, and Rock music, and country music..
the hip-hop scene wasn't really living up down there like in
Austin and Dallas of course but San Antonio was different I...
eventually moved to Dallas... my last like two or three years and started to get
things going down there and then after that I just moved up here but yeah it's
definitely slower down there everything is just now starting to come
up we're supposed to be as far as you know this type of community and
different types of people... gentrification is happening down there
there's a form you know from what it looks like here the city yeah you know
people down there buy big land and basically...start pushing people out...the same way it is here in DC...
-But do you feel you feel more comfortable here than in Texas?
-Yeah, I actually do...I feel a lot more comfortable...
- Cuz you were talking about like the profiling I guess you're saying you're getting
pulled over in the car and stuff...do you feel that notably less here? -I never
got pulled over I never got a ticket I never got messed with by any cops...it's pretty
fair out here... you know but I believe that's because the
ethnicities that's here in the city...
you know it's very diverse you know so you dealing with different types of
personalities and different types of people...you know there on and there so..
you know it's a different mind state as far as the police state...but, i love it!
-That's good to hear...what about so you're a musician you're
a multi-media professional... do you know Gary Vaynerchuk? -Gary
Vaynerchuk? ...-Anyway he's just like this guy listen to all the time and yesterday
he was talking about he's a media outputer and I thought that's kind of a good
one for me too...are we are we kind of creatives today that do everything or do you
consider yourself more like a musician . -I'm a person that actually does
everything like I guess I can say I'm the Hitman for getting a job done
when it comes to multi media...so it ranges from me doing graphic design in a
home then bringing that graphic design out of the house you know to like doing
projection mapping projection mapping comes with creative coding and taking
creative coding to like doing that live yeah then bringing that into a system
where you have to control the lights at the same time...synched up with the
artists and everything. -So are you talking about when you're producing shows for
somebody else? -Yeah producing shows and music as well and you know I do
that all the time it's more like electronic Jazz... -Yeah I was like checking some out of its downtempo it's
kind of ambient it's loungy it's pretty chill and then I noticed that you had
yes such a strong artwork to go with each track so like you're saying...I just noticed that was
kind of a full package deal. -Yeah...
it comes with the background of me dealing with a lot of people on my time with branding.
anything that meets the eye you have to hear it out with your ears as well so
everything has to be 50/50 in balance, so you know...communicational arts ...that has to speak very well...
you don't wan to come out and have people confused about what's going on...
so that's how I like to deliver...it's a good fine job for everybody to see and hear...
-Sounds good yeah...communication through the arts you know...kind of an important thing in this day and age...
so what's next for you man? You've got the newborn but life is starting to get back on track...
-Yeah yeah, um, right now I'm still working with Will Eastman
probably sure a lot of y'all know I did his Hilo album...
branding so I did the website, the graphics, the whole 9...
...still working with him on some new music and art
...been doing a lot of stuff with Paperhaus...um Paperhaus is another great band here...hey man how's it going...good to see you too
...-Are they DC-based or...? -Paperhaus? Yes...they're on tour they actually
'bout to have a show here soon...this coming Friday I'll be doing the lights
right now I'm actually in the house doing a lot of motion graphics...
and stuff for the night
-So for like projections? -Yes. -Cool cool...
What kind of music is Paperhaus? -Um, I mean...more of alternative...i mean it's rock music in a sense...
the album "Told You What to Say"...I'm happy to be a part of that...I did the video for, is more politcal based...
-You said you did the video for them?
-Yeah "Told You What to Say".
yeah so did the visual effects, directed it with some friends... Corianne and had some second
assistant cameras other additional footage capture by
Chris Rosser and my friend Malik. -All DC based? -Uh, Baltimore...and DC yes.
-So do you work a lot with cats in Baltimore New York like you mix
it up a lot or...? -It's been more DC... than anything now...DC and Baltimore yeah
-So Baltimore there's a link there's uh there's something connecting DC and
Baltimore? -Right, off top by being well I can't say that DMV because it
stretches way outside of that... what do you call that...-The Beltway or...? -Uh yeah the
Beltway, the metro or something like that
but um, nah, it's all love...
defiinitely DC and Baltimore that's how I've really been staying as of right now it's been
at the house more creating a lot of...doing a lot of stuff with like corporate
brands and stuff that I can't name a whole bunch of stuff I can't really put
out... -Fair enough... - But it's been DC... -Yup, sounds good...listen we're just about
done the block there's the words of wisdom the WOW moment at the end there's
a shout-out or anything you'd like to say? -Shout out to Texas where I'm from
...Shout out to Akron, Ohio...Buckeyes ...shout out to Lebron
But other than that shout out to everybody in the city who've done musuc with
me, that done art with me...I really thank you, I'd love to continue...and much respect to everybody in the world...
-Can you say bye the folks at home? -Alright see ya'll, have a nice day... -Thanks for watching
everybody see you next time..

BREAKING: Traitor Bergdahl Just Learned His Shocking Fate – Now Look What's Happening - Duration: 5:24.
BREAKING: Traitor Bergdahl Just Learned His Shocking Fate – Now Look What's Happening.
In 2014, former President Barack Obama traded five of the worst terrorists in GITMO for
Bowe Bergdahl, the Army deserter who walked off his base in Afghanistan in 2009.
This prisoner exchange was immediately criticized by conservatives and many others considering
the ramifications of Bergdahl's actions.
In case anyone forgot, when Bergdahl abandoned his post in 2009, six brave men went out in
search of him and ended up dying in their efforts to save Bergdahl who they thought
was forcefully captured.
Now, after three years, Bergdahl is facing the consequences of his actions and agreed
to plead guilty to desertion a couple of weeks ago.
Now, after all these years the Bowe Bergdahl saga has finally come to an end, but the judge's
ruling hardly fits the crime, and has the majority of Americans asking how did this
happen?
The case of Bergdahl has angered Americans for the last three years considering the controversy
that swirled around his capture and his return home.
After Bergdahl walked off his post, his plan was not to return to his Army base, but the
six brave men who went out to search for him were not aware of his treason and were killed
looking for him, which Bergdahl does not seem to be all that upset about in previous interviews.
However, instead of this traitorous individual receiving a lengthy prison sentence, the judge
shocked the court by allowing Bergdahl to walk free.
Here is more from USA Today:
Sgt.
Bowe Bergdahl, the soldier who deserted his Afghanistan outpost and was then held captive
in brutal conditions for five years, received no prison time but was reduced in rank to
private and will be dishonorably discharged from the army, a military judge ruled Friday.
In announcing the punishment the military judge, Col. Jeffery Nance, rejected a prosecutor's
recommendation to sentence Bergdahl to 14 years confinement.
Nance did not elaborate on his decision before dismissing the court.
Defense attorneys had argued against prison time, saying the soldier already suffered
enough while in Taliban hands.
Bergdahl did not react as the sentence was read.
He stood flanked by defense lawyers as the judge read sentence and left the courtroom
with his attorneys.
Bergdahl pled guilty to desertion and misbehavior before the enemy and faced a potential life
sentence.
During a sentencing hearing, prosecutors argued Bergdahl's actions prompted a desperate
manhunt that risked soldiers lives and led to at least three serious injuries.
The ruling brings an end to a polarizing saga that began in 2009 with Bergdahl's decision
to walk off a remote combat outpost in Afghanistan.
He was quickly captured and endured five years of torture and mistreatment at the hands of
the Taliban.
Defense attorneys described Bergdahl, 31, as a troubled young man who suffered from
a personality disorder that made him susceptible to grandiose fantasies and conspiracies and
who was often confused about the consequences of his actions.
"Sgt.
Bergdahl has been punished enough," Capt. Nina Banks, a defense attorney, said in closing
arguments Thursday.
This ruling hardly seems like the outcome this traitor deserves considering that Bergdahl
openly admitted to walking off his base and willingly converted to Islam.
In 2014, Fox News reported about Bergdahl's "captivity" and how he was less than a
hostage and more of a friend to those who have pledged to harm Americans.
U.S. Army Sgt.
Bowe Bergdahl at one point during his captivity converted to Islam, fraternized openly with
his captors and declared himself a "mujahid," or warrior for Islam, according to secret
documents prepared on the basis of a purported eyewitness account and obtained by Fox News.
The reports indicate that Bergdahl's relations with his Haqqani captors morphed over time,
from periods of hostility, where he was treated very much like a hostage, to periods where,
as one source told Fox News, "he became much more of an accepted fellow" than is
popularly understood.
He even reportedly was allowed to carry a gun at times.
The documents show that Bergdahl at one point escaped his captors for five days and was
kept, upon his re-capture, in a metal cage, like an animal.
In addition, the reports detail discussions of prisoner swaps and other attempts at a
negotiated resolution to the case that appear to have commenced as early as the fall of
2009.
The reports are rich in on-the-ground detail — including the names and locations of the
Haqqani commanders who ran the 200-man rotation used to guard the Idaho native — and present
the most detailed view yet of what Bergdahl's life over the past five years has been like.
These real-time dispatches were generated by the Eclipse Group, a shadowy private firm
of former intelligence officers and operatives that has subcontracted with the Defense Department
and prominent corporations to deliver granular intelligence on terrorist activities and other
security-related topics, often from challenging environments in far-flung corners of the globe.
This sentence is absolutely disgusting and a slap in the face to those who died attempting
to find Bowe Bergdahl after he walked off his base.
However, even as deplorable as this ruling is it is not a total surprise considering
that most judges in courts around America have a liberal agenda.
what do you think about this?

The Greek Rack Railway Diakopto - Kalavrita (Odontotos) - Duration: 27:51.
THE GREEK RACK RAILWAY DIAKOPTO - KALAVRITA (ODONTOTOS)
Odontotos starts from the railway station of Diakopto
and follows the Vouraikos gorge.
After a distance of 22,350 metres and within 60 minutes
it ends in the town of Kalavrita
750 metres from the surface of the sea.
The construction of the network started in 1889
and it was inaugurated on 10 March 1896.
Since then Odontotos travels every day, all year round, whatever the weather is.
About 120 years ago Charilaos Trikoupis, prime minister of Greece
wanted to create local railway networks starting
from spots next to the major railway network with lines of 75 cm width
Trikoupis promoted a small gauge because he could see that a small train was more flexible
which was a real advantage for a mountainous country and it was also cheaper to construct.
Therefore, in March 1889 his government decided the construction of the railway
track Diakopto - Kalavrita.
The study was assigned to French scientists.
The French technicians
had from the outset suggested the electro motion
of the line by producing electric power in dams
that could have been constructed between the 3rd and 15th km
exploiting in this way the repeated waterfalls in the river.
Apart from the study and the planning
of the network which is due to the French technicians
Italian labours worked in this project because
of their experience in mountainous railways in the Alps
Because of the inaccessible ground
and the poor technical means of that time
the whole venture proved more difficult than what they had estimated
However, the project is considered a constructive feat even nowadays.
Enjoy the beautiful route through many bridges over the Vouraikos River,
numerous tunnels, and passing loops at Niamata, Triklia, Zachlorou and Kerpini.
Special Thanks to Mr.Alexis Lechouritis for his hospitality.

Lulu's Haul: Sweaters and Dresses for Fall and Winter 2017 - Duration: 4:03.
Hey guys its Riann and today I have a Lulus haul for you the other day I was kind of in
my closet and it was kind of chilly and I was like you know what I feel like I have
nothing to wear so I decided to hop on to Lulus and place an order so this is what I
picked up so I've really been wanting to pair my boots with dresses lately and I kind of
didn't really have any dresses that I felt really went with my brown boots so the first
thing that I picked up was this adorable thermal dress and its this gorgeous sort of cream
color it has a nice sort of cowl neck and its just super cozy looking again its thermal
it has kind of like a dolman sort of silhouette but yeah I thought this would be really great
for just throwing on scarf over and wearing my boots and I decided to go for this neutral
cream color because I thought it would work with a lot of colors of different scarves
and then also brown boots or black boots or whatever color boots that I have this next
item is also a dress and it is just this gorgeous burgundy colored dress as you can see it has
short sleeves and its just mid-thigh length the back has a nice gold zipper and so I kind
of was thinking about when I got this was that I could easily pair it with my Burberry
scarf because it has those traces of reddish burgundy so I thought this might work with
that we'll have to put it together and see but yeah that was kind of what I had thought
of again I could wear this with boots and a scarf and be very happy and very warm so
I thought this would be perfectly autumnal as well so what mostly prompted this shopping
trip is that I just felt like I needed more sweaters so I saw this one on the website
and I was just like oh my gosh millions of outfit ideas kind of started just flooding
into my brain and it looked so cozy and then I got it in the mail and it really is so cozy
and wonderful so it is this gray sweater again its got this amazing cowl neck on it and it
is just this super duper soft material I absolutely am so in love with this it has this really
cute sort of boxy cut and the front is just a little bit shorter than the back but I thought
this would look so cute paired with a faux leather mini skirt or conversely with a pair
of black skinny jeans my mom used to make fun of me because I think from like middle
school to high school I acquired like 14 gray pullovers and they were my favorite things
to wear so I absolutely love this one as well and I'm so excited because it is really soft
and really really cozy this last item I'm so excited about and when I saw it on the
website I had to have it so its this beautiful ivory colored sweater and it is so so soft
I'm going to pretend I am a very huggable yeti in this sweater and the main selling
point for me was the back because it is so cute you can kind of tie these into bows and
there is like little grommets on the side here so I thought that was so so cute also
our fall and winter weather here in southern California is very warm so I wanted to get
a sweater that I could wear but I wouldn't overheat in and so I thought this would be
perfect especially if I paired it with like a cute bralette underneath and then you could
see the bralette in the back and this wouldn't be too warm because there is an open back
to it but it still has all of that same fall feeling to it so yeah I really like that about
this and I'm so excited so I know that was a little bit of a short haul but that brings
me to the end of what I picked up from Lulus this time around everything that I showed
will be linked in the information bar below if you want to go and check it out yourself
I hope you guys are having a really great start to your November and I will talk to
you very soon bye guys

10 Tripod Tips and Tricks plus How to choose the best tripod for your photography - Duration: 12:05.
A tripod is one of the most important pieces of gear that you should own and use as a photographer.
Yet I see so many photographers struggle to choose the right tripod and even worse not
use them properly or even worse yet - not use them when they should be using them.
So in this two part video set I am going to demystify tripods and give you 10 awesome
tips to make your tripod work magic for your photography.
Stay tuned!
Hey gang!
My name is Joe Edelman and my mission is to help photographers like YOU to develop a solid
understanding of the HOWS & WHYS behind great photography so that you can achieve your goals
as a photographer.
This is a tripod - pretty simple right?
I mean how hard is it to set-up and use a tripod?
Back in the mid 1990's, I read a book called The Camera by the great Ansel Adams.
To quote Adams, "Many photographers casually set up the tripod and use the various tilts
and adjustments in a haphazard way.
It is preferable, however, to be more methodical in setting up the tripod, to provide precise
positioning of the camera and the greatest possible stability."
Hopefully you realize that the lesson there goes well beyond using a tripod.
I remember as a teenager that using a tripod was actually kind of cool.
People took me more seriously like I actually knew what I was doing or like I was a working
professional.
The reality is that a tripod is an investment in your ability to take great pictures - just
like a camera - so do your research and don't cheap out
To take pictures at slow shutter speeds without getting camera shake
To take photos in low light with longer shutter speeds
To use much smaller apertures giving you greater depth of field.
The smaller aperture will generally require a slower shutter speed - hence the need for
a tripod.
To shoot a series of frames that will stitch together in a panorama or extremely high resolution
image.
To create High Dynamic Range images where you need to shoot a series of frames at different
exposures without any movement from one frame to the next.
For time lapse photography
For astrophotography
To make better self portraits - especially on vacation
To shoot video
To slow you down and force you to be more deliberate with your decisions.
There are many different kinds of tripods.
For the most part we can divide them into five basic groups.
Pocket tripods are usually less than 6 inches collapsed.
A pocket tripod will easily fit into a bag or waist-pack and they are very handy when
you don't not want carry something bigger and heavier.
Pocket tripods will support the weight of a smartphone or compact digital camera.
Look for one that has some sort of adjustable head, even if it's really basic.
Tabletop tripods are excellent for situations where the camera and tripod can be placed
on a small flat surface.
Their light, small, and easy to pack so they're great for travel.
Put it on a table, set the self-timer, and you can include yourself in the shot.
Or, turn your tabletop tripod sideways and place it against a wall or a pole to give
you more stability when shooting.
And since they hold the camera close to the ground, they're great for low camera angles.
Travel Tripods will usually bring your camera to just shy of eye level, but collapse to
an easy-to-carry size.
Travel tripods will support a digital or film SLR with a kit lens, or even a modest zoom
lens.
Avoid using long zooms or heavy telephoto lenses on a travel tripod - they tend to be
front heavy and can cause the tripod to tip.
Travel tripods that collapse down to 22 inches or shorter will fit in most airline carry-on
luggage.
Medium Duty Tripods fill the gap between lightweight travel tripods and heavier studio tripods.
The big advantage over travel tripods is that most medium duty models reach eye level or
higher, they are heavier and therefore even sturdier - hence much better when image sharpness
is critical.
Some models come without a head and then create a custom configuration by buying the head
separately.
Studio Tripods are very sturdy and usually designed to fit a specific need.
They are big, sometimes immovable and nearly always used with a specialized head.
They are designed to handle medium and large-format cameras.
There are eight features or characteristics that are common to pretty much all tripods.
The more you understand these characteristics - the easier it will be to select the perfect
tripod for your needs.
Collapsed Size is how long the tripod measures with everything folded up.
This is important if you are traveling or need to pack the tripod in a bag, camera case
or suit case.
Maximum Height Extension is how tall the tripod will stand with the center column and every
leg fully extended.
The Maximum Load Capacity is the heaviest camera and lens combination the tripod or
tripod head can handle.
If you put a camera that's heavier than the Maximum Load Capacity on a tripod, you
run the risk of it breaking or collapsing and causing damage.
So, it's important to know how much your camera weighs with its heaviest lens and any
accessories, and then buy a tripod that will handle them.
The weight is simply how much the tripod weighs.
Head Type – There are basically three types of tripod heads.
Pan-Tilt Heads – either with a single handle for horizontal movement or dual handles for
both horizontal and vertical movement.
This is the most common type of head that is typically built into cheaper tripods.
Ball-Heads – compared to pan-tilt heads, most ball-heads only have one control that
loosens or tightens the grip.
They are very flexible and allow very smooth operation while keeping the camera and lens
securely tightened.
Gimbal Heads – are specialized heads for long and heavy lenses.
Compared to pan-tilt heads and ball-heads, gimbal heads perfectly balance the camera
and heavy lens.
They are extremely easy to use in any direction and do not require tightening the head every
time the camera/lens moves.
They are great for sports and wildlife photography.
Regardless of which head type you choose, I strongly recommend choosing one with a quick
release.
There is nothing more irritating than fumbling with a tripod that has a 1/4 20 thread on
the head.
Once you have mounted your camera if you want to grab it to do a quick hand held shot or
even just to move the tripod - you would have to unscrew the threads from the camera and
then repeat the process all over when you are ready to mount the camera back on the
tripod.
Depending on the brand or model, a tripod may or may not come with a head.
Regardless, you will need one.
Feet come in rubber non-slip pads for most indoor and some outdoor shooting or a spike
which is best for outdoor shooting, the spikes hold the tripod firmly in the ground; and
depending on the tripod brand and model you may be able to add wheels or even ball bearing
feet.
Leg Locks are most commonly available as Twist types where you twist the leg to pull it out,
twist it in reverse to lock it in position or Lever locks where you open a lever to pull
a leg out, close it to lock it and there are also some custom options.
The Common Material – is what most of the tripod is made of.
The most common material is aluminum because it's inexpensive, but in the case of a heavy
duty tripod it can also add a lot of weight.
Carbon fiber is extremely durable and lightweight but indeed more expensive.
Some cheap tripods are made from plastic - the operative word being cheap and for the old
school large format shooters you can still find wooden tripods which are valuable if
you want to get your Ansel Adams game on.
I recommend buying a tripod that matches your height or is taller, so that you do not have
to bend to look into the viewfinder.
Once you put your camera on a tripod, the viewfinder should be at your eye level unless
you need to adjust for a creative camera angle.
Explore your camera angles BEFORE you open and set-up your tripod.
Since it takes time and effort to setup a tripod and since we tend to be a little lazier
about moving the tripod once it is set up - take a few moments to explore camera angles
and lens combinations for your shot - before you set-up the tripod.
This way you know you are beginning with an interesting camera angle.
Only extend the tripod legs only when needed.
The less you extend the legs - the sturdier you tripod will be.
Extend the thickest part of the tripod legs first, then the thinnest, for the most stability.
Before spreading the tripod's legs, adjust each leg's length.
This ensures that the legs are the same length and your tripod will be level.
However, if you are shooting on uneven ground, you will need to adjust each leg once the
tripod is in the correct spot.
If you are shooting outside in mud or on a beach - do extend just a little bit of the
bottom leg first so that you keep the locking mechanism out of the mud or sand.
Avoid the center column - it is the weakest and least stable part of your tripod.
There is no point in having your tripod solidly placed on three legs and then raising the
center column as high as it goes so that it can move around like a camera on a monopod.
The center column should only be used as a last resort.
Since you are usually working from the back of the camera, face a single tripod leg toward
the focal point of your composition.
Having two legs on the back side will create more stability and is less of a trip hazard.
Add some weight to the tripod.
Many tripods come with a hook at the bottom of the center column that will allow you to
hang a backpack or weight to add additional stability if you are working in windy conditions
or if your tripod is a bit too lightweight for the gear you have attached to it.
You can also use an accessory like the Stand Daddy that I talked about in this video and
attach small weights to the tripod legs.
Don't move the tripod with your camera attached.
Sure just a quick little move especially in an indoor setting it's no big deal, but
if you're shooting on location and especially working on rough terrain - don't risk having
the camera fall off the tripod or even simply stumbling while carrying the tripod.
Switch-off image stabilization and or vibration reduction while using a tripod.
When you are shooting with image stabilization or vibration reduction turned on, your lens
generates a minor shake that is meant to counter-act your hand movements.
This vibration ultimately reaches the camera and can introduce camera motion in your photos
when shooting at slower shutter speeds.
Use the mirror lock-up feature on your camera.
The shake caused by your cameras mirror may not affect your photos while you are shooting
at a fast shutter speed, but as you slow down the shutter speed the shake can become visible
in your photos.
To eliminate this, just manually lock the movement of the mirror.
This can easily be done by activating the mirror lock-up feature in your DSLR.
Check your camera's menu settings or consult the user manual to find out how.
Use the 2-second timer or a remote shutter release.
If you press the camera's shutter release while shooting at a slow shutter speed you
risk introducing camera movement even with the camera on a heavy tripod.
By using the 2-second timer feature you can do away with the camera shake as you are allowing
2 seconds for the camera to absorb that minor shake before exposing the photo.
If you want to be extra cautious and not take any chances, you can use a remote shutter
release or cable that allows you to shoot without touching the camera at all.
So there you have it.
Spending several hundred dollars on a tripod is definitely not as sexy or satisfying as
buying a new lens or camera body, but it is every bit as important.
While you are shooting, setting up the tripod may take some extra prep time, but the results
are worth the effort.
You'll also have to slow down and really think through how you want to set up a photograph
or what angle would work best with your subjects.
With just a little practice, you may find that using a tripod is easier than you think.
Next up in this two part video series on Tripods.
My favorite tripods and tripod heads and how and why I use them.
I hope you found this useful.
Please hit that thumbs up and subscribe so that you don't miss any videos and until
next time go pick up that camera and shoot something because your BEST shot - it's
your NEXT shot, so keep learning, keep thinking, keep shooting.

Advanced Photoshop Tutorial #25 - 4 Tricks To Speed Up Your Workflow In Photoshop - Duration: 4:04.
Hi Guys, Today I'm going to show you 4 tricks to speed up your workflow.
Speeding up your workflow doesn't only make you work more efficient but it also impresses
clients that are sitting next to you, if that's the case.
The first trick to speed up your workflow is zooming in and out with the scrubby zoom option.
This is much faster then the regular zooming method and in combination with the healing brush or clone stamp it works great!
This is how to enable it.
You can use scrubby zoom by holding ctrl or cmd and spacebar and then moving left or right with your wacom pen or mouse.
The second trick is something I use all the time while I'm masking.
sometimes it's impossible in some angles to make a steady brush stroke.
That's when the rotate tool comes in.
By pressing R you can rotate your canvas.
If you switch back and forth with the brushtool it works very good.
If you press C your canvas will reset to normal view.
The third trick let's you work really fast while transforming anything.
If you press ctrl + T and then right click inside your transform handle area there will appear a quick menu.
This works much faster then going to edit and then transform.
The fourth trick is the most obvious but it will increase your speed dramatically.
Keyboard shortcuts.
The are some basic shortcuts everyone should use like creating new layers by pressing: Ctrl+Alt+Shift+N.
And grouping layers by pressing Ctrl + G and also duplicating groups or layers by pressing Ctrl + J.
The most important shortcuts for me are the adjustment layers.
These are some of them I use daily.
For those who don't know how to make keyboard shortcuts just go to edit and then keyboard shortcuts.
Retouching tools like the healing brush by pressing J or the clone stamp by pressing S.
You see that it works great while using the scrubby zoom method.
Some of these tricks might not be new to you but If you combine these 4 together it's quite powerfull.
Thanks again for watching and see you guys around, take care.
