Hello, lovelies! It's me, Alex, and I am here today to introduce you to Feu Follet,
who is a G3 custom completed by me. And as you can see, she has been repainted all over
and rehaired completely in several different beautiful colors of nylon hair.
And I wanted to give you a closer look at her and also talk about the inspiration of
where that came from.
As you can see she has this beautiful spooky forest thing going on, all the way around,
with the wisps climbing up her leg and across her back and down onto her front hoof. The
effect is also continued in her eyes, which I did not clear coat to make shiny. I thought
they were more ghostly and creepy this way. And I am just generally really pleased with
the effect I got with her.
Her hair like I said is nylon from dollyhair.com, I will drop a link below in the description,
and it is Starlight, which is this beautiful shimmery silver that you see. Also, this is
Forget-Me-Not, this beautiful dark blue, with some lighter Bluebell and even lighter Water
Nixie, which are kind of mixed together in here to give that lovely kind of faded effect.
I am very pleased with her.
And I wanted to talk a little bit about where she came from. The feu follet is the French
or American Cajun version of the will o' the wisp, which is a myth, a legend, folklore
that I'm sure that you are probably at least a little bit familiar with. Those creepy lights
that appear in the dark and lure unwary travelers into unsafe places and unsafe situations.
Just a hint: if you see anything in the dark that's like this randomly bobbing light
and especially if you hear something call your name, just don't, just don't go after
it. Don't do it. No matter how much treasure it promises to show you.
Ah. The feu follet was said to be a soul sent back from purgatory to do penance, but instead
of penance, it chose instead to continue its life of mischief even into death, and will,
again, as we all know, lead travelers to their doom. It is also sometimes said to be the
soul of a child that died before baptism, which is very sad.
Uh. They're in the same class as will o' the wisps, they're seen over bogs and marshes,
also over cemeteries and other creepy abandoned places. We actually know now there is a scientific
basis for these things. They are spontaneously-igniting gas emissions from decaying organic matter.
There's obviously a lot of that in swamps and there's obviously some of that, too,
in cemeteries. So we know that they are a real thing that happens. They are not, however,
mischeivous spirits of the dead. The explanation is rather more mundane but no less fascinating
I think.
So that is where she came from. That is one of my favorite little stories, and I really
wanted to pay homage to that for what was supposed to be a Halloween custom, but I didn't
finish her, didn't finish her quite in time, so now here she is, belated but still spoopy.
Uh. If you enjoyed seeing her -- and her full photo shoot will be out soon -- you can see
more of her and more ponies like her over on the Patreon that my girlfriend Sarah and
I run. It is patreon.com/agannon, a g a n n o n, I will drop a link below, and there,
for as little as one dollar a month, you get access to progress shots, studio talk about
this and that, and also finished shoots, which are between 8 and 12 beautiful photos, either
in .jpg or .pdf format, you can download your choice, finished photo shoots for each pony
we have done. There are over 25 currently and more being added every month.
So if that is something that you are into and you would like to support independent
artists, especially disabled artists, especially queer artists, you can go over there, throw
your money at us, and we wll put it to good use buying pony hair, bait ponies to recycle
into beautiful new ponies, and aso things like food and meds.
We appreciate the support of all of you who are already patrons. I would like to thank
you for being the most wonderful patrons that a person could possibly have.
And thank you to everyone who visits! Please don't forget to click subscribe, don't
forget to click that thumbs up, and I will see you again soon!
Later gators!
