I Started an Anabaptist Magazine - Anabaptist Perspectives Ep. 013 - Duration: 10:05.
Well, hello everybody! Welcome back to another episode of Anabaptist Perspectives.
I'm here with Rachel Schrock which happens to be my sister.
If you've heard of her, you probably know her more as Rae.
She started this magazine called "Daughters of Promise". We're going to talk a little bit about that.
Could you give us the two sentence overview about yourself? Just a short little introduction:
who you are, where you live, what you do.
Sure. I grew up in Tennessee.
For 17 years of my life I lived there.
While I was living there in Tennessee, I got my RN license and
practiced nursing there for a couple of years.
And then felt God leading me on to another community which is Virginia.
I now live in South Boston, Virginia. I have continued to do some nursing over the years.
Currently, I'm taking a little break from that and spend a lot of my time working on "Daughters of Promise".
In my spare time I love to travel and
do freelance graphic design work. I really enjoy that.
So, tell us a little bit about "Daughters of Promise". So, for those of you who don't know,
this is the "Daughters of Promise" magazine. This is basically a book.
That's the part that surprised me the most.
This is one of the current issues. About 100 and a couple pages.
112 pages.
112 pages. So it's really massive. Excellent design work. The aesthetic is great.
Tell us about the vision. How did this get started? How did you get to this? This is a lot of work.
What's the journey?
So, it really starts way back in 2010. It's kind of a long story, but I can give the condensed version.
So, basically starting off 2010 was a really tough time of my life.
I was just going through a lot of personal upheaval, and
had gone to SMBI (Sharon Mennonite Bible Institute) for a term, and was really finding some
help and healing there for some things I was struggling with.
It was a time of tremendous loss in my life.
I experienced the death of a close friend, and some other personal losses in my life.
So it was a time of a lot of
breaking, but also healing in deeper ways with God.
During that time, I spent a lot of time talking to other women, and hearing their stories, and realizing that
we shared common struggles --- that
we have all been touched by pain. A lot of times our pain is focused around
similar things: relationships, identity.
These questions women have about who they are, and where we fit into the world?
I began to really just understand that there are things that women want to talk about,
but don't always maybe know how or have a place to.
Over the spring and summer of 2010, I just began to really pray about how God wanted to use my story,
and the things I was learning to encourage other women.
This idea just slowly began to form to send out an email like a newsletter.
It was a place where I just wanted to share some of my
experience, and just try to encourage other women --- that was really just the heart behind it.
Names have always been a really big deal to me. I choose even my email address
very carefully. Somehow, the name "Daughters of Promise" came to me.
I don't really remember that process of that.
I called this little newsletter "Daughters of Promise" and started emailing it to some of my SMBI girlfriends.
Over the next year especially, the list of subscribers grew tremendously. I was very surprised.
Over a long series of events, we decided to make it more of a magazine-type
format and began publishing that online like a digital magazine.
A couple of women joined the team.
Then we began printing in 2014. It's gone through a lot of changes.
Today, it's now produced quarterly, and each issue is, like you said, more like a book.
It's around 112 pages. So, a lot of changes, but the vision has stayed the same of
wanting to encourage other women in finding freedom and wholeness
through an understanding of who we are in Christ and that
outside of that, we are broken and lost and really destitute.
It's pretty much full-time for you, is that right?
How many regular staff do you have right now?
Including all of the writers and artists and editors, I believe it's 26.
Oh, wow. That's a lot. That's quite the team.
So you've described a little bit of the vision,
and how it started, but go into a little bit more of the need. Why is this magazine actually important?
I hear what you're saying, but tell us what impact it's having.
Yeah, it's a good question.
I think that women of the conservative anabaptist community in particular
have sometimes struggled to know how to find their voice and to share with others.
One think that I think DOP does is it does provide a platform for women to share,
sometimes very personal things from their lives that God has led them through, and through that to
encourage other women who have been through similar things. There's been so many stories
I've heard from readers who just said, "I really connected with that."
You're not alone.
Right.
Yeah, it's almost like you're building a community around this.
Yes, it's a magazine, but it's a lot bigger than that really. It's a community. That's really cool.
Like I said, there are common
struggles that I would say conservative anabaptist women face that would be unique to our
denomination and this culture.
We do try really hard to feature
content that is relevant, and that is relatable to a broad range of women, not just
single women, or married women, or moms. We do want to spark
conversations among women, not just provide
answers necessarily, but really encourage women to think and to process with the goal of
experiencing that freedom, and wholeness, and the abundant life that Jesus came to offer.
A lot of times that comes through really wrestling through
the things we've experienced and gone through,
rather than just being shoveled answers or solutions.
So this kind of segues into the next one.
We already hit some of this,
but what has the response been to this? You've been doing it for eight years now.
It must be pretty good. You keep doing it.
The response has been growing as it catches on more.
Something like this is (even with
internet, social media which expands your reach tremendously)
still finding its way into communities as a reliable resource.
The response, especially since we move to a quarterly
production schedule has been phenomenal. People have really
had very positive reactions to it.
Filling a void.
Yeah, because there's more stories. There's more testimonies.
There's more content in here. We even try to provide some interactive elements like Bible studies
(you can fill in the blanks), or a journaling page.
Yeah, that's cool.
Things that make it a bit more interactive than just picking up a magazine and reading it.
In the last six months especially, it has really been growing exponentially.
We've had the privilege of featuring some
wonderful writers --- men and women. We have
at least one man share an article in each issue.
So we'll just totally throw a free advertising space for you. Where can people find more information about
this if they want to get it?
Where do they go?
"Daughters of Promise" is available online.
Our website is (maybe you can link to it --- put it in with subtitles or something)
www.daughters-of-promise.org. That's our website.
We're on Facebook and Instagram. Just "Daughters of Promise".
Obviously, producing a magazine is expensive. We have
to charge enough to cover our costs.
We do our best to provide free content that can bless women who maybe can't afford a subscription,
or even those who do, just some extra
encouragement for their lives.
If you do subscribe to this (everybody who's watching)
maybe mention it to Rachel that you found it through this video.
That would be interesting to see how many actually come from that.
Most of all, this is a ministry. It is the desire, our desire, to share this message with
women that they can live in freedom through Jesus.
That's really cool.
Thank you for taking the time to share and maybe spread the vision
to some other people that might be watching.
Thanks for having me.
Absolutely! Thank you, everyone, for watching. If you like what you saw here, come back.
We have new videos each week. If you have questions or comments,
make sure you leave those down below in the comment section.
We'll do our best to answer those. Maybe we'll forward them on to you if someone wants to learn more.
That would be great!
Thanks again for watching, and we will see you in the next video.

STVORE - Yasnost' [Clarity] - Russian Industrial-Omni-Metal - Duration: 4:21.
As a thin line in life
The perdition is hidden
Every day you breathe
A moment away from your ending
A shell's weakness
Stuck in your throat
You drown right into the soil
The dark is sickening
This movie ends tomorrow
Clarity has gathered itself
Into a clenched fist
Every breath is sweet to me
The curtains have burned down
Everything has opened up to me
The sleeper has awakened
And the blind one sees
Only one shot
Then the ending titles on a stone
The light will not turn on
The time does not stand still
Life runs on your forehead
As a salty red drop
I want to breathe further
Today and now
Keep your blade sharp
Clarity has gathered itself
Into a clenched fist
Every breath is sweet to me
The curtains have burned down
Everything has opened up to me
The sleeper has awakened
And the blind one sees

CUTTING MUSIC AND CREATING KEYSOUND - HOW TO CREATE UNIPACK #2 - Duration: 15:23.
Say, people, beauty?
This is Siber.
This is the second video in the how-to series create Unipack.
In this video I'll teach you how to cut the music and add in your Unipack project.
For this I will use two applications
the file manager and Lexis Audio Editor, to cut the music.
The download link for these applications will being in the video description.
So I'm going to check in the Audio Editor
I'll accept the permissions.
and I'm going to open the song I want to cut.
Here on the play button I can hear the music
and to cut the music I'm going to zoom in button.
I go move the first needle a little to
forward to release the second needle
and move the second needle to the end of the part I want to cut
and I'll always be listening to the part to I wonder if it's really where I want to cut it.
I'll always cut that beat
The first beat I'll ignore because the space is very small between the beginning and
So this is the first cut.
I go here in the three dots to save
I'll click here to import / mix / export
And I'll click on export selection
Now I'm going to look for the project's Unipack that I did
Internal Memory> Unipad
and the created folder name
I'll join the Sounds folder
and this is where I'm going to save this file
And I'll save the first as 001.wav
I recommend you save it like this to stay organized.
and I will save
and that's it, the cut has already been saved
and now I'm going to the second cut
I'm going to move the second needle.
and place the first needle exactly in the end of the first cut
and I'm going to move the last needle to the size of the new cut
and I will save
and logically this time I will save as 002.wav
and so I'll do until the end of the song.
It should be remembered that these cuts can not exceed six seconds
because UniPad only accepts cuts of up to six seconds.
I recommend saving it to WAV even though it is an audio format with better quality
It is always good for you to cut into a part that to realize that something will change
In the song
It will get better when it comes to playing Unipack.
For example: a high touch, a phrase in music as
I do now.
Good, I
I already made all the cuts
and now I'm going to use the Make Unipack Application to make KeySound
but first I'll show you the cuts.
I'll go into the file manager
go to Unipad folder
in the project that I created
and Sounds
As you can see he gave a total of 69 cuts
and to create the KeySound I'll get into the Make Unipack
get into projects
Select Project
and go to KeySound
Creating KeySound works as follows form
Here on the left side of the screen will have all the sounds of your Unipack
On the right side of the screen will appear the codes what are you creating?
here in the middle will appear the 64 buttons of the UniPad
and every time you touch a button of that will assign one of these sounds here to that button
that you touch
You can go by sequence, start from 001 and will automatically move to 002
then to 003 to 004
For example,
By doing so, you assigned sound 001 to this button
the sound 002 to this button
and the sound 003 to that button
If you do not want this sequence that appears here
or the sequence appeared wrong to you, depending on how your phone organizes files
you can select the sound and play
you can see by the code that sound 006 assigned to this button
Since mine is already organized, I'll just go go and play KeySound
If you want to change the Chain, you Click the ball
and choose one of the eight Chains
You can see here in the code that the Chain is the first number
the two in a row is the coordinate of the button (4, 3)
and the file name
here you can also change the button color What are you pressing?
It's just to organize here at the time of you creating keySound
I'm going to create a very simple KeySound for this Unipack
Well it's a tutorial and I do not want to complicate it very things
Remembering that you can not forget this sequence
because you will have to play later on UniPad.
Turning now to Chain 2
And now that I'm done
I'll save
The Make Unipack already saves in the correct place, within your project
no need to worry, just click on to save
So that's it, you can see that KeySound was created correctly
But that's it, I do not know how to play perfectly I still have to train the music a little more
But this video is staying here, stayed even a little bigger than I expected
I hope you have learned there how do the KeySound of your Unipack.
And in the next video I'll teach you how to do it the keyLED
I hope you're enjoying the series
If you like, do not forget to leave your I like it, subscribe to the channel if you are not registered
And that's it
Until the next video
Goodbye!

20-year-old Brazilian could be ideal backup for Mane & Salah at Liverpool ● News Now transfer ● #LFC - Duration: 2:26.
Watford ace Richarlison has looked terrific for the Hornets this season and would make
great cover for Liverpool's Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.
Watford's Brazilian star Richarlison de Andrade has looked a real player for the Hornets this
season, after arriving at Vicarage Road from Fluminense for £11.2m last summer.
The winger enjoyed a strong start to the campaign, netting five goals in his first 12 league
matches.
However, since November he has not found the back of the net.
Irrespective of this, the Brazilian under-20 international has still been a live wire
and, in a team that creates the number of chances that Liverpool does, there is no doubt
he could go on to achieve bigger and better things at Anfield.
Yesterday, the Mirror reported that Watford could be willing to part ways with either
Abdoulaye Doucoure or Richarlison, as they look to balance their books by earning profit
from player sales.
This has become the business model at the club in recent times,
for example, with the sale of Odion Ighalo to a Chinese Super League side, earning £20m
profit from his sale with the Nigerian having arrived in Watford on a free after his contract
was terminated by Udinese.
With Doucoure only costing the club £6million, and Richarlison £11million, the chance to
sell one of them for considerably more may be too tempting an opportunity to pass up.
At 20, Richarlison has his entire career ahead of him, and the speed at which he adapted
to life in England will be arguably his most attractive trait to potential buyers.
Liverpool's front three will be a difficult one to penetrate.
However, Mohamed Salah's long-term future is by no means certain, with some of Europe's
elite clubs rumoured to be interested,
Richarlison could serve as a more than credible back up for either of Jurgen Klopp's wide
men.

Peter's Jungle: Amatérská Cave - Duration: 4:36.
The Czech nature hides awesome secrets.
The most mystic and maybe even the most valuable, lies in the underground, in the Moravian karst.
Yes, I mean the karst caves.
The biggest one lies directly down here
nd was explored in 1969 for the first time, by amateur speleogists leaded by Milan Šlechta.
It can be accessed during very rare occasions only.
However, Peter's Jungle is very unique event, so let's go!
My today guide will be the most competent man at all!
Kocour!
Accordingly to the fact the cave was discovered by the amateur speleologists,
it was named after all of them. The Amatérská Cave.
It was the biggest discovery, the discovery of the century we did that time!
The system of Amatérská Cave has more than 40 kilometres!
This is exactly the spot you have to follow the path precisely.
Any footprint beside the official trail will be visible for another thousands years…!
Would you expect to find such great underground rivers or even the lakes in the Czech Republic?
Without them, the cave would be probably never discovered,
as the huge springs running directly from the underground interested our first speleologists,
including Jindřich Winkel and his famous grandson, Karel Absolon.
I simply had to this!
The river Punkva flows much further way and I really would like to kayak down it.
However, time is running and we have to continue.
Have a look on these molluscs!
There was a sea bottom everywhere I step on here!
It was in Palaeozoic, when it was settled by some trilobites and you could find some prehistoric amphibians on the land.
Their dead bodies were falling slowly down, together with the bodies of the microscopic organisms and calcareous sediments.
Being pressured they slowly changed to the limestone.
When the limestone got to the ground, it started to be showered with the rain, which is little bit more acid,
so the water started to dissolve the limestone and created various openings and canals.
Some of the canals got bigger, so more water was running in and the became even bigger and bigger,
up to the scale of the recent caves.
Accordingly to the concentration of the CO2 in the air, thatˇs the gas we breathe out,
limestone has not to dissolve only, but can condense as well, even to such beautiful decoration all around!
It is not possible to estimate the stalactite age just by its size.
It can grow some time, but can pause the growing for thousands years.
Moreover, it might corrode, when it is in the contact with the water of very low mineral concentration.
So if you want to estimate its age, you have to use some advanced method.
While all the white places disappeared from the maps already, people are still finding new places underground.
Who knows, what another secrets our amateur speleologists will discover next time!
