Despite an uptick in consumption... output across all industries in Korea dropped zero-point-eight
percent in February compared to the same month last year.
Statistics Korea says most of the gains came from the mining and manufacturing sectors
on increased output from the automobile and semiconductor sectors.
Retail sales increased by around one-percent.
However output in the services sector edged down zero-point-one-percent from the previous
month,... recording a fifth straight month of decline.
The statistics agency projects the construction sector to worsen in the coming weeks as orders
plunged by nearly 40 percent on-year in February.

Business Meeting: I'm so excited! - Duration: 4:25.
Hello everyone it's been a good day so far. It's been an interesting day so far.
I had a meeting with my landlord who helps businesses grow and she helps
market businesses. She was telling me about what she is doing right now with
her own business and how she's helping support her son's business. They just
launched a product, their business is called Joy Tops and they are thumb grips
for your game controls. So they are a tech company that's based in Los Angeles
and they are disrupting the gaming industry, at least I hope that they will!
So it's thumb grips that are going to improve your game play and they
have a patent pending. I'll put the link to their website in the
description below. And it's so cool and just to hear the origin story and just
to hear where they're going and how she's helping them is just, it's just
amazing. So I had a meeting with her and it went
great! She got me so excited and so pumped for what's to come with Make the
Mainstream and how we can help each other. How she can help me and because she is
a female in STEM and has been for 20 years. So just to have someone who is
not my mom and not my boyfriend, who have to love and support me, from someone who
has been in the STEM world and who is still in the STEM world and who is
building businesses and helping businesses grow say "you're onto
something big here. I'm really excited for you, like you're doing the right
steps and you know you're you're really getting out there." And it just made me so
excited and so pumped and I'm just like oh I can't. Like I don't have words I
don't have words to express how excited I am and just this this is what the
excitement is, it's caused me to double chin. I'm so excited and it just it gives
me more inspiration and more drive to keep going and keep creating products
and and keep just fighting for females and STEM
and learning more about it and learning more about business and you know
developing myself as an entrepreneur, as well as a female in STEM and it's just,
it's so exciting so I really wanted to share that with you guys. I neglected to
take a selfie with her because I'm a fool! But yeah, oh my god, it's oh, it was such
an amazing meeting. And the fact that my car died on me on the way to the meeting
didn't even faze me because it went so well. She had to drop me back off
at home because, I mean my car might be dead. There's no money to buy a new car
because I'm starting a business. Not making money yet, but I will be. It's
going to be big and it's going to be exciting. I'm so happy! I'm so happy! Oh
goodness. I just went great and I wanted to share
that with you guys. Today was a win, it was a success. We're going to have another
meeting. We're going to strategize and we're going to plan because that's the kind
of people we are. And you have to have a good plan, you have to have a good
strategy so you can execute it and so you can do something about it. So that is
what we're doing. I'm so excited! I'm so excited! I just wanted to share that with

Confusing English Verbs | LEND & BORROW - Duration: 8:47.
Hello! I'm Emma from mmmEnglish!
Welcome back to another lesson about
confusing English verbs
because some English verbs are quite similar
and sometimes it's hard to know which one
is the right one to use.
Last week, I talked about the verbs, been and gone.
In this lesson, I'll be talking about the verbs
'to lend' and 'to borrow'.
And they're confusing because the meanings
happen to be very similar
but different.
But don't worry, in this lesson,
I'll be sharing some tips
to help you use these verbs correctly
and remember which one is the correct one to use.
Just like the difference between been and gone,
the main difference between 'to lend' and 'to borrow'
is the direction of the action.
Okay, so what do these verbs actually mean?
'To lend' means to give something to someone
for a short period of time
and you expect to get it back again.
I'll lend you some money when I get paid.
He lent his car to a friend for the weekend.
It's important to note that with this verb,
there is a difference
between British and American English.
Lend is used in British English
and instead, loan is used in American English.
Now, lend is an irregular verb
so the past tense form becomes lent.
Loan is a regular verb so it becomes
loaned in the past tense.
Can you lend me some money?
Can you loan me some money?
Both of these sentences are the same.
Okay, so lend means to give something to someone
for a short period of time
and you can expect it back again.
Now, when we use borrow, we simply need to switch
the action to the person who is receiving the item.
'To borrow' means to get something from someone
with the intention of giving it back.
You don't plan to keep it
and the person who gave it to you
expects to receive it back again.
Now, borrow is a regular past tense verb
so we just need to add -ed to make it borrowed
in the past tense.
Right, so let me show you.
Lend is similar to give.
And borrow is similar to take or receive.
But both of these verbs mean
that the action only happens for a short period of time.
Let's take a closer look.
Can you lend me your car for the weekend?
Can I borrow your car for the weekend?
These two sentences are describing
exactly the same situation
but from a different perspective.
The subject, so the person who is doing the action,
is different in each sentence
so the verb must be different too.
You can't say "Can I lend me your car for the weekend?"
Because the car is not mine
so I can't lend the car to me
or to anyone else for that matter.
You can only lend something if it belongs to you.
You also can't say, "Can you borrow me your car?"
And this is a really common mistake.
The person who owns the car cannot borrow it.
Getting the information about who's giving and who's
taking something is really important
when you're using these verbs.
So, let's make sure you're getting that part right.
So we have the subject and lend.
Now remember, the subject is the person
who is doing the action,
so the person who is lending
or who owns the object.
We have subject with lend with our object pronoun
and our object.
So the object pronoun tells us
who is receiving the action.
Can you lend me some money?
Now, lend can also be directly followed by the object
but if you want to say who's receiving the action,
you need to use the preposition, to.
So subject, lend, object,
to someone.
Can you lend some money to me?
Now, when using borrow
you can't use an object pronoun after the verb.
You can't say "Can you borrow me your car?"
But you can use subject with borrow and the object.
Can I borrow a pen?
And then you can add the preposition, from,
and the person.
Can I borrow a pen from you?
Can you lend a pen to Paul?
Okay are you ready to practise with me?
Practise using lend and borrow.
When I .... you my hairdryer, you said you'd give it back!
When I lent you my hair dryer,
you said, you'd give it back!
Now, there's an object pronoun here,
so it can't be borrow, can it?
And also take note of the tense
used in the second clause.
The past simple. So your verb needs to reflect this.
They said we could ... their lawnmower.
Which one is it?
They said we could borrow their lawnmower.
Their lawnmower is not ours so it must be borrow.
He'll ... him the money if he really needs it.
He'll lend him the money if he really needs it.
So there's an object pronoun here so it can't be borrow.
She asked me if she could ... $500.
She asked me if she could borrow $500.
Now the clue here is in the verb asked.
The person who is lending the item is not asking for it
are they?
So it must be borrow.

and borrow is to take.

Trump says could 'hold up' South Korea trade deal for North Korea issue - Duration: 2:18.
U.S. President Donald Trump has raised eyebrows with his latest comments on the amendment
to the South Korea-U.S. free trade deal.
Speaking before a crowd of union builders on Thursday in Ohio, Trump said he may "hold
up" the recently amended FTA... until a deal is made with North Korea.
Lee Seung-jae reports.
Before the ink has even dried on the newly amended South Korea-U.S FTA,...
President Trump said he may 'hold up' the trade deal in order to use the deal as leverage
in any upcoming negotiations with North Korea and their nuclear program.
Calling it a 'strong card',... Trump made it clear how he wants to use the trade deal.
"Just this week we secured a wonderful deal with South Korea.
(cut) And I may hold it up till after a deal is made with North Korea.
Does everybody understand that?
You know why, right?
You know why?
Because it's a very strong card and I want to make sure everyone is treated fairly and
we're moving along very nicely with North Korea we'll see what happens."
Observers say it's unclear how holding up the trade deal with South Korea, one of America's
closest allies, could help the U.S. in dealing with North Korea.
This comes as U.S. diplomats have emphasized that any meeting between Trump and Kim Jong-un
would simply be a meeting,... and not a formal negotiation on the North's nuclear weapons
program.
Meanwhile... the South Korean government on Thursday demanded the U.S. correct a recent
statement on the U.S. Trade Representative website, stating that the U.S. Treasury Department
is leading discussions on currency with South Korea's finance ministry.
Adding to the dispute was a fact sheet issued by the U.S. Trade Representative on Wednesday,...
stating that 'a memorandum of understanding is being finalized on robust provisions to
prohibit competitive devaluation and exchange rate manipulation.'
According to Seoul's Ministry of Strategy and Finance,... the exchange rate issue is
entirely unrelated to the FTA, as such an agreement would likely deal a heavy blow to
South Korea as it's such an export-dependent economy.

Vanessa Trump Discovered 'Sexy Texts' from Aubrey O'Day - "Don't forget taking your cellphone when shower, D. Trump Jr."
Donald Trump Jr. 's alleged affair with former Celebrity Apprentice contestant Aubrey O'Day came to an abrupt end in 2012 when his wife, Vanessa, discovered "sexy" text messages between the pair.
A source who worked with Celebrity Apprentice — where Trump Jr. and O'Day first connected when she was a contestant and he was an adviser on the show — tells PEOPLE that President Trump's eldest son was in the shower and his phone was on the bedside table when "sexy texts" came through from O'Day.
"This is how Vanessa found out and the affair ended," says the source familiar with the situation.
"To Don Jr. [the affair] was very exciting," the insider adds. "Aubrey was very, very into Don. He liked her but she was definitely more keen on him.".
Last Thursday, Page Six broke the news that Vanessa had filed for divorce from Trump Jr. after more than 12 years of marriage. The outlet was also the first to report on Trump Jr.'s alleged fling with O'Day, a former singer in the girl group Danity Kane.
Although the couple went through a rocky time after Vanessa uncovered the alleged affair, the source tells PEOPLE that "everything seemed to be patched after that as Vanessa had more kids afterwards." (Trump Jr. and Vanessa share five childrentogether: Kai Madison, 10, Donald III, 9, Tristan, 6, Spencer, 5, and Chloe, 3.).
"They were a very sweet couple and Vanessa was lovely," the source says. "Aubrey always seemed really stuck-up.".
A spokesperson for Trump Jr. did not respond to PEOPLE's request for comment, and O'Day's manager, Steven Grossman, told PEOPLE that she is not commenting at this time.
But on election night in November 2016, O'Day tweeted that "my story I didn't tell is worth millions now.
Of all the stresses that reportedly pulled at Vanessa and Trump Jr. 's marriage — from his racy tweets to a former model, to the alleged affair with O'Day, to his cheapskate approach to Vanessa's spending — friends tell us in this week's new issue thatthe strain between husband and wife was nothing new.
The couple had been living "separate lives" for a while, says a source who socializes with them. "Even before all this Trump presidency stuff started, they weren't good and their marriage was strained.".
