So far we thoroughly enjoyed it and we're able to use the Access Pass to get half off

of our camping so that works well.

Yesterday, I think I was the only person out walking on the beach, which is unheard of...it's

just enchanting.

I think it is one of the best kept secrets, and I've been all over the world.

The ability to go to the fort, or to walk to the bay or just, there are plenty of things

to do to keep us busy and yet relaxed at the same time.

What You Don't Really Know About Ed Sheeran's Life - Duration: 3:32.

When Ed Sheeran emerged on the music scene, he blessed us with catchy tunes that swiftly

rose to the top of the charts.

The English singer, songwriter, and guitarist charmed the world with his humble, down to

earth personality, his boyish charisma, and of course, his soulful ballads.

You may know all of his tunes by heart, but how much do you really know about the "Shape

of You" singer?

Here's the untold truth of Ed Sheeran.

Royal bed

Once he completed his college courses in London, Sheeran found himself unable to pay rent.

With nowhere to go, he took up shelter with the Royal Family.

Okay, not really.

He was technically squatting outside of the palace.

In his memoir Ed Sheeran: A Visual Journey, he revealed,

"There was an arch outside Buckingham Palace that has a heating duct and I spent a couple

of nights there."

Thankfully, his days of not having a place to call home are long gone.

He made headlines in January 2018 when he purchased, well, four houses right next door

to each other in a Suffolk village.

Sheeran was honored by the American Institute of Stuttering's Freeing Voices, Changing Lives

One day, they forgot to put the anesthetic on, and ever since then, I had a stutter."

Beer weight

During an interview with The Breakfast Club radio show, the crooner explained his reason

for dropping a ton of weight.

"Sweatpants were the only things that fit and I just thought everything had shrunk in

the wash, but it hadn't."

He blamed beer for the weight gain, and claims that once he put the booze down he lost around

50 pounds.

He hasn't sworn it off entirely, though.

He admitted that he has since been able to reintroduce beer back into his diet, as long

as he maintains his exercise regimen.

Hit list

At the start of his career, Sheeran wasn't one of those celebs who was able to practice

restraint after receiving bad press or a negative online review.

During a candid interview with the BBC, he admitted that he kept a, quote, "hit list"

of the people and publications that didn't support him early on.

He explained,

"I remembered the people who didn't help, and then if they asked: 'Do you want to go

on the cover of our magazine?'

I'd be like: 'Hell, no.'"

Though we'd love to hear who's on that list, Sheeran has since taken on a more mature approach

to handling such tough criticism, and claims, quote, "the list doesn't really exist anymore."

Substance abuse

Sheeran's life was once on the verge of snowballing out of control, but thankfully, he was pulled

back from the brink of hitting rock bottom.

During an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show, Sheeran recalled that dark period of

his life when he was adjusting to the spotlight, saying,

"All the pitfalls that people read about, I just found myself slipping into all of them

[...] mostly substance abuse.

It's all fun to begin with, it all starts off as a party and then you're doing it on

your own and it's not, so that was a wake-up call."

Phoneless

Don't even bother trying to call him.

In an interview with the BBC, Sheeran explained:

"I was at a house party the other day and 50 percent of the people were either Snapchatting

or watching Snapchat.

Someone said: 'Why don't you have a phone any more?' and I was like: 'Look around you.

This is exactly why I don't have a phone.'"

So how's he able to constantly update his Instagram account and stay connected to the

online world?

His new ipad.

"I bought an iPad, and then I just work off of email, and it's so much less stress.

I don't wake up in the morning and have to answer 50 messages of people asking for stuff."

that took the lives of 17 of their classmates and injured numerous others.

They have continued this activism since the March for Our Lives that took place all across

the country.

And they are not holding back, they are going for the jugular and this time they have chosen

someone who can't defend themselves as much.

17 year old David Hogg has used his social media accounts to attack and target politicians

and this time he is going after Senator John McCain.

When Senator McCain went to Twitter to post about a Rio Valley project in Arizona Hogg

attacked him, and tried to hijack the post by asking him how much he accepts from the

National Rifle Association.

However, Senator McCain has taken the high road and not responded yet and there is no

indication that he will.

In all likelihood, Hogg targeted Senator McCain because according to the Center for Responsive

Politics Senator McCain is the top recipient of donations from the National Rifle Association.

In total, they have noted he has received approximately $7.7 million from the National

Rifle Association.

The Center for Responsive Politics posted a graph of all the members and politicians

who accept the most National Rifle Association donations.

Making these politicians the likely next target of these children.

Hogg tweeted later Thursday that an apology to save advertisers wasn't enough, and that

he'd only accept Ingraham's apology if she denounced the way Fox News has treated

his friends.

'It's time to love thy neighbor, not mudsling at children,' wrote Hogg."

The Blaze reported,

"A number of students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida have

been part of a media blitz asking for tougher gun control laws.

Hogg has been one of the most outspoken leaders of the campaign.

Hogg filled the headlines for the past few days after feuding with Fox News host Laura

Ingraham, resulting in some advertisers pulling their ads from her show.

Ingraham had mocked the student for complaining about not yet being accepted into his preferred

colleges; the host later apologized for her comments.

The student has also gained recent attention from conducting profanity-laced interviews,

making a noteworthy gesture at the DC March For Our Lives rally, and bragging about hanging

up during a call with the White House."

While Senator McCain is the current target of the gun activists there is nobody who is

immune.

These students are targeting every politician and Member of Congress who has any type of

pro-gun position, or has taken even $1 from the National Rifle Association.

It is clear they are preparing for the midterm elections in an attempt to try and get Democrats

elected to Congress to sway the majority more towards the middle.

All in an attempt to try and push anti-gun policy.

However, many of these students and children will not be able to vote until the next presidential

election.

It remains to be seen how these marches, activism, and cyberbullying they are partaking in will

have much if any effect on the midterm elections and the longevity of their party.

The True Story Behind Polybius, Gaming's Most Bizarre Urban Legend - Duration: 7:05.

- [Instructor] Welcome to Part 6 of your training.

Let's meet the device you'll be working with.

This is Polybius.

On the outside, it may look like an ordinary arcade cabinet.

But on the inside,

Polybius holds advanced surveillance systems,

perfect for tracking user behavior.

Careful! Users may experience some slight side effects.

The Polybius machine, the future of covert surveillance.

- [Narrator] Between the 1950s and 1970s,

the CIA was experimenting with alternative ways

to weaken the enemy.

The program was called Project MKUltra.

The CIA tested on unaware subjects,

using hypnosis and psychoactive drugs

in order to find the perfect interrogation method.

In 1976, the secret program was exposed to the public.

The revelation spurred countless conspiracy theories

that film producers were quick to pull from.

Movies like WarGames and The Last Starfighter

combined paranoia thrills and video game sensibilities.

But movies weren't the only things inspired by MKUltra.

Beyond the theater marquees,

one of the biggest video game urban legends was brewing.

And it all started with a mysterious arcade cabinet

that suddenly appeared in the quiet town of Portland.

(upbeat pop music)

This is Logan Bowden.

- I am Director of Operations here

at QuarterWorld Arcade in Portland Oregon.

- [Narrator] Logan loves urban legends.

- Oh, yeah, I love 'em.

- [Narrator] And he's kind of become a connoisseur

of the weird and wonderful myths from Portland's past.

- I've been gathering the local lore.

As Portland goes, you quickly learn a lot

about what Portland was and the folklore that surrounds it.

- [Narrator] Folklore like Polybius,

Portland's most infamous legend,

which he learned about while watching TV with a friend.

- We were watching "The Simpsons" episode

that has the Polybius in the background.

And he started laughing.

And I had no idea what he was talking about,

so he filled me in.

(suspenseful music)

The legend of Polybius, the short and skinny of it is,

around 1981, this arcade cabinet appeared in a few arcades

in the outskirts of Portland.

Now if you played this game,

it was said that you would have seizures,

fits of amnesia,

night terrors,

and also just a complete desire

to continue playing this game.

- [Narrator] So why would someone inadvertently

create a video game that had all these effects?

Perhaps, it was on purpose.

- Supposedly, every couple of weeks,

these strange men in black suits would show up.

And they wouldn't take any money out of the machines,

they would just open up the back,

supposedly, maybe, taking some readings of data,

perhaps a continuation of MKUltra.

And then, after about two months,

just as mysteriously as they appeared,

poof, disappeared, and they've never been seen since.

- [Narrator] And so a myth was born,

and with it came a legion of believers and skeptics

trying to decipher fact from fiction.

(rhythmic electronic music)

This is Brian Dunning.

He makes a living debunking outlandish stories

and has heard many tall tales.

So Brian, tell us why the story of Polybius

was a little different?

- It turned out, kind of much to my surprise,

that just about every piece of evidence supporting the story

was true.

First, two kids actually did get knocked out

playing video games in Portland, Oregon in 1981.

Second, 10 days after that,

the government actually was raiding arcades

and taking games out.

Third, we know the games were used by the government

for training.

And finally, there was a game called Poly-Play.

It was a case where this game was physically removed

from every arcade in which it existed.

- [Narrator] So it seems like

all the pieces of the puzzle exist,

leading to a confirmation of the legend, right Brian?

- Arcade culture is extensively documented.

They had trade magazines.

They had consumer magazines.

And in all of those issues, throughout the entire 1980s,

there is not a single mention anywhere

of a game called Polybius.

We know for a fact that it did not exist.

- [Narrator] But proprietors of the legend

weren't quite willing to let the myth die.

(dramatic organ music)

So they began to design

different elements of the game themselves.

School teacher and dedicated arcade builder,

Paul Santa Cruz, is working hard

on bringing the legend to life.

(dramatic organ music)

- [Paul] One day, it kinda popped in my head,

"You know what, I'm gonna make a Polybius."

- [Narrator] But how, exactly, do you make a Polybius?

Well in 2007, an underground community of gamers

actually developed a hypnotic video game

and marquee graphics inspired by the myth.

It's what they thought the game could actually look like.

Paul decided to take the work one step further

and build a fully-custom arcade cabinet.

- Everything was there that I needed.

The graphics were there.

The game was there.

So maybe the cabinet wanted to exist in real space and time.

I wanted people to see it

and stop and turn to their friends

and say, "Wait a minute, is that really it?"

I wanted it to be part of that mythos.

(rhythmic electronic music)

- [Narrator] So there you have it,

the story of how a video game legend

became an arcade reality.

- I don't think it matters at all

that the legend is true or false.

It's just a fun thing to follow.

- I had a lot of people tell me

the cabinet was cool

and didn't have any interest in playing it

because they weren't gamers.

But they loved the fact that this thing existed.

- If Polybius didn't exist, it does now,

minus the seizures and amnesia.

You're not gonna, like, be a sleeper cell, or are you?

Hello, welcome to counselling & words and to my world of today which is the

Japanese word Sakura.

Well, Sakura is Japanese and it means cherry

blossom. I'm here right now in Tokyo in my very little hotel room, and actually

this is everything you see, the whole room! This is tiny, but very comfortable!

Tokyo is a beautiful city; it has a lot of variety in everything: people,

buildings, stories, culture. It's just amazing! And today I want to talk about

Sakura or cherry blossom which is a symbolic flower of the spring; and here

in Tokyo it's spring! Well I come from New Zealand and in New Zealand we have

autumn, but here is spring. Well and spring is a time for renewal and the

fleeting of life. The life of blossoms is very short; after their beauty peeks

around for about two weeks the blossoms start to fall. During this season in

Japan people like to have cherry blossom parties with colleagues, friends and

family. Sakura or cherry blossom makes people happy; they enjoy eating, drinking,

barbecuing underneath the cherry blossoms, and this custom is called

hanami. Hanami literally means watching blossoms and the tradition can be traced

back at least a thousand years. Sakura became a symbol of Japanese culture and

is now used around the world to represent Japan. In the spiritual sense

Sakura reminds viewers that life is short and beautiful like the cherry

blossom that falls from the trees after a few days. Tied to the Buddhist themes

of mortality, mindfulness and living in the present Japanese cherry blossoms are

a metaphor for renewal and optimism! And now I invite you to come with me and I

Now Ahmed was an immigrant but that's not the reason like what the

story is about I know a lot of immigrants and they wouldn't do what he

does or did so basically Ahmed was like a messed-up person where he would just

do anything to gain attention like he was essentially somewhat of a bully too

because people would convince him to like fight other people are to attack

other people for their entertainment so like and a thousand the case and he

would he would basically say that he was gonna do something but out not always

the case he actually say he's gonna do stuff a lot but not do it but sometimes

he would like this one time he with me my friends were going into these

apartments close to earth school just like you know knock on the door bell

like knock on the door not a door bell knock on the door and run away so Ahmed

offers to come along and stuff and I we let him come along and like when we get

to the apartment he says he's gonna piss on somebody's at the door

he's going to piss on the door that we knocked on and we're all shocked like no

you're not you're lying but no doubt he actually does that and the guy gets so

pissed off he starts chasing us all we end up getting away

but I would like the type of person who we who he was I think he would sometimes

say he was gonna do stuff you never really knew fully this one day like goes

up to everybody in the school of you saying I keep on a slap the principal of

the ass now everybody thinks that he's lying because nobody thinks that anyone

can be that dumb but he actually I like what kind of school like ending like the

time I would like almost have to go home he literally he literally goes up the

runs up behind her slap ass Oh heart he's like starts running out of the

school and then like everybody's looking at if seeing listen there I'm just

shocked cuz like he could see it you can hear it did not hold back whatsoever

and he just like runs away and thinking like what they calm guessing he's

freaking bad it wouldn't matter he comes to school the next day he's looking at

everybody smiling and and yeah the principal like and they totally get to

the office right now yeah stop getting suspended but he didn't he

doesn't get expelled at all just got suspended and that was a story you know
