this week about it being Christmas and what I've got is I have three or four
people that are actually getting their veneers for Christmas time you guys
should have them this lady right here is out of Alabama we spoke yesterday and
I've been trying for a long time to get you a set of veneers
she sent me a video and I think a lot of her for doing it and she said if I had
this I think this will help me get started in my career my name is Kerry
and she's out of Madison Alabama Kerry you should have these for Christmas
Merry Christmas and I hope that these do everything that you wanted them to do
for you this lady right here her name is Jade Jade I'm sorry we
didn't make your graduation but I hope we make your Christmas I didn't have

Hello and welcome back to my minecraft we've got our farm here, I hope you're not tired of working on the farm yet
Cuz we are gonna keep working on that. I found I had a whole lot a whole lot of dirt in my inventory
So we are absolutely gonna on my inventory in my chest. Excuse me
I would have known if I had in my inventory. I had a lot of dirt just store it in my
chests
So that I because when we were taming, I guess we dug up a lot of dirt I think is what happens
And we were like climbing on mountains like a week ago or two
and I got a lot of dirt from that I guess and so we're gonna use that dirt to
Fill up our farmland. So we get everything nice and level. We're also gonna spend a lot of time cutting down trees today
I definitely still have my flu. So that is gonna be a
Unfortunate reality for us
and it is gonna
mean the commentary and gameplay are gonna be
not
100% as better as good as when I was well
when I'm fully healthy, you know, but we're just gonna have to
Work with what we have here and and enjoy the experience for what it is. We've got a lot of floating trees over here
I just do not care for this nonsense
I need to try and cut it down
but I'm not sure how I don't want to use flint and steel because I don't want to like destroy everything but
More than I need the wood. I just want it to go away
We got a lot of trees to clear out we absolutely want this farm line to be significantly bigger and
I am absolutely talking myself out of air with this flue. This is a
a
little bit unpleasant
our dogs we are down a dog because an angry nasty creeper decided that they were
they they didn't like the dogs and the dogs decided not to defend themselves against the creeper and then
And now we're down a dog. I probably need to build an iron golem. I
I want to do that, but I don't know the recipe off the top of my head and we've got other stuff to do so
Why am I doing this this doesn't need to come down
I don't need the dirt right this second, but we do need to get rid of this
Our dogs are not very good companion animals because they do not attack the monsters by themselves
Which is just crazy. I don't understand why that is you think after all the updates minecraft has had the dogs would
Figure out that the bad guys are bad and we don't like them
But the docile dogs just do not know how to defend themselves
Against angry monsters and one of our canines paid the price for their stupidity
They were
Consumed by a creeper explosion, could you just have things go some days I guess
we really need to get this farm line leveled out and I refuse to make it Hollow because I think that would give us a
lot of problems down the line
Like we would just dig one down and then we'd fall for blocks and then we'd be stuck in the dark and would be awful
We got some more dirt I am burning through this dirt faster than I thought I would
We don't need that torch there because we're just gonna fill it in and
then with all this new land we have we're gonna have to UM you
know
Make sure that's all lit up and stuff although with all the crops
I don't know if the monsters can't even spawn properly and we really get an iron golem. This dog is absolutely in the way
The poor dogs are just too dumb. Sometimes I
Really? Wish they would stop
Being a pain, but I do enjoy the dogs company
Which is why I keep them around evidently. They're not very good
at fighting

The dog was the thing with the creeper and the dog that was on camera, by the way, so if you missed it
You know, it's just because you didn't watch it, but it's it's on YouTube in a video on the channel
Not that you have to watch every single video. I'm just saying

At some point in the future. We are a little bit busy with our farm though and three dogs is still plenty of dogs
And maybe well, okay so my concern with the iron golems is I don't know if they

You know, I'm not sure if we got this more caving or mounting or what but I do appreciate having all this dirt

Maybe got it some other way this dog is in the way
But I do love these dogs they are
Friends to me in my virtual world of Minecraft I
Think that having a big farm is the best way forward in the future. I think that
Having a big farm and a solid home base will help us on our adventures
I do want to get back to adventuring, but we do need to
Make sure our farm and our home base has everything that we need to
Supply our adventures so that we are our best selves. I don't think this is working. I think that
I'm gonna finish this wall and then we're gonna stop doing it this way

We should start building

The melons seem to grow significantly slower than the pumpkins

Since the carrots you don't need a recipe or anything for I think it'll be easier for me
We do need to cut down these trees most of these are trees that I planted I

While I do not regret planting the trees, I do regret planting them. So close to my base. I didn't I
Didn't think we would need this much farmland, and now I realize we absolutely do
And then even once our farm is pretty much done
We will need to land for any kind of
Contractions and like, you know item farms and stuff as opposed to plant forms or farming plants here
But we also will need land or
you know the other types of farming the more video-gaming kinds where you're harvesting enemies and items I
Felt off there that was a mistake. We need to get back on the street

I imagine that breaking branches with the axe is horrible for the durability, but I cannot be bothered to switch back to
Off and then back on
Hopefully these will all break
We might need to help them out a little bit make sure there's no connections sit down

These pumpkins, we will find a use for them. We may build structures out of pumpkin
Obviously coming out of the holiday season, you know Halloween is

and not gonna be in the future for quite a long time, but pumpkins are
And my opinion pumpkins are lovely at any time of year, even though they're not grown
All year round
They are
specifically planted and grown for Halloween they are
Lovely lovely plants that we will absolutely harvest to our little arts content in Minecraft. I

What do you call it what the pie recipe is for pumpkin pie because we have a lot of it I think you need wheat
And maybe an oven I mean we have an oven it's just
My opinion the easier the food the better
but I'm still attached these fun things we could also make
Snow golems with these but the problem of the snow bulbs is that they do need a roof over their heads
Do we want to harvest these melons we absolutely do and then
There even turn looking we still got space we do need to deposit all this stuff right back in our home base
You know because our inventory is really full um
So we got a mess what the chests did some of my melons despawn that was weird
alright and
You know, we're just plotting along at the farm

That melon to destroy my dog
That was crazy
The dogs. Oh my goodness

We can rest after a hard day's work on the farm
Like I said this farming stuff isn't gonna be forever. We just do need to do it for a while

Apple that's good shears. I should probably put away. I haven't used them in a while
Bucket we want the bucket and I can't remember how to make another shield. I need to look that up
So we definitely need to work on cutting down those trees

Distractions are the worst like its hard to avoid it whenever you got something going on
I remember when I was in elementary school
My teacher gave us homework to take home to do
Class your tonight assignment are math english science and history make sure that all your subjects are completed without making any excuses

Hmm I supposed to do my homework

But I'll get through it right after I am done beating this game
The next day
I arrived to school went to class and the teacher had asked me

Then it hit me that I was supposed to do my homework yesterday, but the game had gotten into my head
I wind up losing track of time
I just stood there looking all sweaty and scared while my teacher gave me
That ferocious glare into her eyes
I went and told the truth. I forgot to do it
I'm calling your parents you failed
Right after that tragic moment happen
I arrive home open the door and there goes both of my parents with their angry looks on your faces
Your teacher had called us and said you had failed all your assignments. How did this happen?
I failed because I got distracted playing my games
Right after I told them the truth, they ended up taking my games until I had improved my grades better
But man, it was a tragic that let things get into my head
I just couldn't help myself because I was too distracted
A few days had passed right after my punishment was over
The teacher went and gave us homework to study for a test
Class I want y'all to head home and study for a test that's coming up tomorrow
right after she gave me that heads up

I went into my room and played my games again
Man its so hard to avoid being distracted the whole time

I head straight to class for the big test. The teacher gave us our test so we can take

But best thing I could do is guess the answers right away
After the test was over the teacher went and hand over our test scores
I looked at it and made a zero
Oh god, I am in so much trouble when I get home
Right after school was over
I arrive home
And my mom want to know how I did on the test

Right after she told me I felt scared
Didn't want to tell her that I failed the test
Due to the fact I forgot to study because of all the distractions
I had so I went and told her a lie

Right after my parents seen the grades that I have been made they were so mad at me
My games have been taken away for a whole month
Lesson learned don't get so distracted

2018: What a Long, Strange Trip It's Been [CC] - Duration: 12:00.
Hello, old friend. Long time no see! Hey everybody, it's Anna,
and welcome back to my booktube channel. You might notice that I am in a
different location than I usually am. That is because it is a 100 percent
chance of rain right now in Seattle, and the clouds are totally blocking out the
natural light that I usually use to film, so I'm filming in the
office/bookshelf/game room. You can see the brand new bookshelves that my
husband and I just built. But yeah, I just wanted to check in with you guys before
the end of the year- say hello, welcome myself back to my own channel. I've been
a little bit absent between planning my wedding and having Hanukkah, Christmas,
Thanksgiving, husband's birthday... a bunch of major holiday celebration event-type
things going on. But yeah, I am back I am back to making
videos, and I just wanted to check in with you guys a little bit before the
end of the year. Wow, I am really out of practice! I feel so uncomfortable and
weird right now, sitting in front of a camera and just
talking. It'll take me some time to get used to this again, I think, but anyway, I
wanted to share a couple books that I got for various holidays.
I think all of these were actually Christmas gifts; we celebrate a lot of winter
holidays in my family, but I think all of these were gifted to me for
Christmas. Before we get into that, I wanted to give a little bit
of explanation, I guess, since some of you might be following me to this
channel from Twitter, where I am a lot more active and vocal in my love
for Dungeons and Dragons, RPGs, tabletop games, and stuff like that. I wanted
to incorporate a little bit more of my love for games into this channel as we
go forward, partially because it is related to books, since a lot of RPGs and
stuff like that are based off of science fiction and fantasy tropes or existing
structures from sci-fi and fantasy novels-- there are a lot of
RPGs that are actually based off of worlds like the Lord of the Rings, Game
of Thrones, etc-- but also just because that's an
interest and a passion that is really taking up a pretty significant
chunk of my time now, whether it's playing games,
RPGs, whether it's cosplay, whether it's going to conventions, different things
like that. So I just wanted to say hello if you followed me here because of all
of my Dungeons & Dragons tweets! I hope that you'll stick around and don't
find this to be too off-putting. Beginning with that then, I have a couple
of books that I was gifted for Christmas. One of those was "Waterdeep: Dungeon of
the Mad Mage," which is a D&D adventure for high level characters. This one I got
from Buddha, a Secret Santa that I matched up with online, so thank you so
much for that if by some slim chance you're watching this! And then from my
husband, I was also gifted "Pugmire" core rulebook,
which is an open gaming license D&D 5th edition book.
That allows you to play as a canine adventurer, and it's super fantastic.
I actually read through the entirety of this yesterday while I was just sitting
in a coffee shop. It lets you create a dog that's an adventurer character, and
you can go through all of these different types of classes similar to
Dungeons & Dragons, but adapted a little bit to fit the particular skill
sets and personalities of different dogs. I'm really impressed with what they
managed to do in such a relatively short book in terms of building the
mythology and the politics of the world of Pugmire, and I really cannot wait to
DM the game because I think it's going to be absolutely great.
Then from my extended family Secret Santa, one of my aunts got me "Becoming" by
Michelle Obama, which was one of the three books that I had specifically
requested to receive for Christmas. I have already started reading
this. I think it's really great. I'm enjoying it a lot so far, and I'm sure I
will have more fully formulated opinions after I've gotten further than this
amount into the book.
And then from two of our friends, I was gifted this book "Designs for the
Pluribus: Radical Interdependence Autonomy in the Making of Worlds" by
Arturo Escobar. This is the kind of book that, while I don't miss being in
graduate school and being in a ph.d program, I really do miss getting to sit
down and read this type of book. I'm just really happy that now I get to do it on
my own time, and I don't have to write any really long papers about it.
That would be a little bit more tedious than enjoyable. So those are all of the books
that I got for Christmas, winter holidays, etc. I usually don't receive too many
books as gifts either for Christmas or birthday or any other gift-giving
opportunity, mostly because people know how much I read, and they are like, well I
don't want to get you a book that you already have or that you've already read!
I can't blame them. I mean, I'm gonna post my end of year/best books of
2018 a little bit later, probably after we pass New Year's, but I read
186 books this year so far. I'm still probably going to finish a few
more before 2018 is fully over, so I totally understand why people don't want
to get me books as gifts. That's fine-- I am more than happy with these ones that
I have! And then I wanted to talk a little bit about some plans that I have
for the booktube channel in 2019. First of all, I wanted to thank all of you that
have stuck with me this far, that have been watching my consistent and then
somewhat inconsistent uploads with this channel throughout the year. There's now
138 of you subscribed to the channel at the time that I'm making this video-- wow!
That's really incredible! I did not ever think that this many people would care
what I had to say about books, especially because I don't really feel like I stand
out that differently from people that are already doing this on the internet.
I'm still trying to figure out what it is that really makes me *me*
online, if that makes sense. I'm really trying to figure out my my voice and
my position when it comes to making these type of videos, so thank you to all
of the people that have joined this little community, whether you've been
here since I first started uploading, or whether you just joined, or whether you
found this channel by accident and now you want to stay for some reason-- thanks a lot!
So I guess without any further ado I'll
go ahead and talk about some of my goals for the channel for 2019. I would like to
keep my uploads very consistent. I set myself a goal when I started the channel
that I wanted to make four videos a month, and I just checked: I made 50
videos--It'll be 51 after I make this one-- this entire year. However, a bunch of
those were actually spread out. I think there's a few videos where there's
a month gap or a two month gap between videos, and while some of that is
unavoidable just because life happens, and I have multiple jobs outside of this,
and other things going on, I would like to set myself a challenge to be more
consistent with uploading. Second thing that I would like to do with this
channel is more readathons. I really enjoyed the readathons that I did this
past year. I love the Tome Topple read-a-thon so much. It is my favorite
read-a-thon. I wasn't able to do it this year because it was happening right when
I was getting married, so I did not have time, but I would like to do that.
I know I'd like to do the Read Yo' Shelves read-a-thon that Kathy Trithardt and...
I'm forgetting [the co-host's] name, but I'll post it in the description, are hosting at the
beginning of 2019. I know I'd like to do the Queer Lit read-a-thon when it
comes back in the new year. That's hosted by Kathy and Rogan; I will link them as
well down in the description. I think I'd like to just participate in
other readathons as I'm able to and as I find out about them. Another thing that
is a little bit more experimental for the channel is that I
might like to start making some videos about storytelling via games, especially
with a lot of the conventions that I attended this year, a lot of the panels
I went to discussed storytelling via games as being a really important
component of playing games. I think that there's more to be explored on this
topic that I would like to dive into, so I was thinking about making some
more chat videos that are specific to that topic, just so I can keep
them separate and more focused from the stuff that is more book related.
Is that anything that you guys would even be interested in watching? I'll probably
still make them because I want to, but I'm curious just to see how much
interest is out there for something like that. The next goal is
something that's pretty much entirely on my end: I'd like to make some technical
improvements to the channe. l I'd like to get better editing software. Right now
I'm just using what comes with YouTube. I'd like to invest in some quality
lighting so that I'm a little bit less dependent on the great outdoors, fickle
as it is six months out of the year here, and that way I don't have this weird
ghostly light in the ceiling casting strange shadows on me when I
have to film not in natural light. That's a little bit more on my end, but
I'm giving myself a year to figure out what I'm gonna do about those things.
The last goal that I have for the channel is that I would like to post a
few vlogs this year. I think I posted I posted one vlog in 2018. I had a second
one filmed, and then some disaster happened to the files and it wasn't
actually able to be recovered in order to be uploaded, so that was kind of sad.
But I would like to make a few vlogs of different fun things that I do
throughout the year. I'd like to make some readathon vlogs, maybe vlog a couple
conventions that I have coming up. That way you guys would get to see a little
bit more of that storytelling via games, cosplay, RPGs,
stuff like that that I'm interested in related to books
and geekiness, but outside of. I don't have any specific bookish events
that I can vlog coming up right now. I might see about getting permission to do
that from the event organizers, so we will see if I am able to do that.
Is that something you guys would be interested in watching? I'm pretty
interested in filming vlogs just because the last time I did that I had a super
fun time with it. I had fun playing around with music. I had fun filming
outdoors, trying different things out with different cameras:
the one that I use here or the camera on my phone.
It was just interesting to do something different. I enjoyed that aspect of it.

The Zozo Demon - What You Should Know Before Using a Ouija Board - Duration: 8:17.
Imagine that your friend comes over one day and brings a Ouija board with him.
You both sit and start to try to contact evil spirits, your skeptical eye watching every
move the planchette makes and trying to figure out if your friend's pulling your leg.
Suddenly the planchette starts moving from the letter Z to the letter O, over and over
again rapidly, and after making its presence known, this 'spirit' starts answering questions
about relatives of yours with incredible accuracy.
Creeped out, the next day you get curious and google the name Zozo, only to discover
thousands of similar accounts written across various message boards online.
Hello and welcome to another special episode of The Infographics Show's Greatest Mysteries:
The Zozo Demon.
You don't have to imagine the preceding scenario, because it has in fact happened to thousands
of people around the world.
Whether using ouija boards, automatic writing, or various other spiritual contact techniques,
people all around the world have reported contacting an entity calling itself "Zozo".
With the advent of the internet, people began to share their stories online, each person
shocked to discover that hundreds, if not thousands of others had had the same experiences
as they did.
Possibly more terrifying though is the fact that stories about Zozo have been around for
hundreds of years, with one of the oldest accounts coming from Collin de Plancy's demonic
encyclopedia, the Dictionnaire Infernal.
According to de Plancy, a young girl claimed to be constantly harassed by three evil spirits:
Mimi, Crapoulet, and Zozo.
The demons would torment the girl and force her to walk on her hands, or act indecent
in the company of others.
Eventually she was exorcised successfully, although the priest performing the rite was
warned not to attempt another exorcism by the police.
It's easy to discount old tales as mere superstition, or even to discount modern testimony as simply
flights of fancy that appropriate old legends or scary stories.
It's not so easy however to explain the massive amount of collaborative testimony available
online, specially from people surprised to discover so many others allegedly having contact
with the same entity.
Encounters with Zozo tend to go the same way- contactees will be using a Ouija board or
other spirit contact technique, and Zozo will make its presence known by spelling out its
name.
Typically it will then answer questions that would be difficult for other people around
you to know the answers to in an effort to gain your trust.
Other times it will simply start to spell out expletives.
Contact with Zozo typically results in something tragic happening shortly after- one man claims
that his wife left his daughter in the bath tub and stepped out for a moment, which was
long enough for his daughter to begin drowning.
After rescuing her she was struck ill by a mysterious infection days later.
Another woman claims that on the same day as her contact with Zozo she was hit by a
drunk driver.
People differ on what exactly Zozo is, but whatever it is it's clearly got a bad temper.
Some say that Zozo is a demon, possibly even the ancient Mesopotamian king of wind demons,
Pazuzu.
Others believe Zozo is simply a malevolent entity that appropriated the name because
of growing fear around it.
Yet others believe that Zozo is not a single entity, but rather a name that various evil
or mischievous spirits use to scare us, knowing how scared we have become of contacting the
ill-tempered Zozo.
These people think that spirits may simply be having a bit of fun with us by using the
name, while more evil spirits appropriate it in order to scare us- and fear, they believe,
gives the spirits power.
Whatever its origin, some of Zozo's characteristics involve an attraction to the female sex, preferring
contact with women over men.
Zozo also seems to be attracted to people with suicidal tendencies, depression, or other
psychological disorders.
Researchers claim that these people are more vulnerable to demonic influence, giving a
demon more power over them and making it easier to push them to do extreme things such as
suicide or hurting or scaring others.
Those who claim to have come in contact with Zozo describe sudden and intense feelings
of anger, fear, depression, or generally black thoughts as they talk with Zozo.
Their encounters are typically followed by seemingly bad luck.
Others though are more severely affected, with some claiming to have suffered physical
symptoms such as headaches, sleepwalking, and the appearance of marks and bruises on
their bodies.
This is all quite terrifying- if true.
Along with the host of believers, there are just as many skeptics however, and the preferred
tool of contact with Zozo, the Ouija board, is itself fraught with doubts.
For starters, it's a game manufactured by a major toy company, and many skeptics have
a hard time swallowing the fact that spirits and demons are immediately accessible with
a simple board game.
There may be some merit to that point, but then again, if the world of spirits and demons
is real then who says they need some special, archaic and mysterious method to contact us?
But that's hardly the only criticism leveled at the Ouija board.
In 1972 psychologists ran an experiment to see if people could have paranormal spirit
contact experiences through nothing more than human will- basically they wanted to see if
it was all just in our heads.
For the study, they made up a fictional person named Philip Aylesford and then invited a
group of people to run a séance in order to summon his ghost.
The group eventually made contact with the entity, becoming convinced that they could
feel Philip's presence, hearing knocking sounds coming from the table, felt the table physically
vibrate, and at one point saw the table tilt up onto two legs.
All the while, they had no idea that Philip had been completely made up.
The study proved just how susceptible we can be to believing in the paranormal with just
the smallest amount of prodding.
Yet, if the world of spirits and demons is real, what's to say that a mischievous spirit
or evil demon didn't simply respond to the séance, knowing full well what was taking
place, and reveling in the frustration the entire affair would cause when the participants
were told there was no such person as the one they claimed to be speaking to?
Why would spirits and demons be any different than we are- basically, why wouldn't a spirit
troll a scientific study way back in 1972?
Other skeptics point at the ideomotor effect as an explanation for 'contact' with Zozo
and other paranormal entities.
The ideomotor effect is the subconscious and involuntary movement of muscles, typically
to a very small and likely imperceptible degree.
This effect has been well documented, most famously by the famed Michael Faraday who
built a device to show how the ideomotor effect was responsible for the 'table-turning' fad
that swept supernatural-believing London.
Today, skeptics claim that ouija board communications are nothing more than the subconscious mind
using the ideomotor effect to push the planchette around and give us the answers we are seeking.
Zozo may well be simply a product of our own subconscious pushing a planchette on a ouija
board with movements so imperceptible that even we ourselves are fooled into believing
a supernatural explanation.
Yet that doesn't explain the global internet phenomenon which has seen thousands of people
all claiming contact with the exact same entity.
Skeptics point out the possibility of a mass psychological trend amongst all these believers,
or that potentially every single one of them is simply making up a tall tale.
Both answers could be true, but with just as much hard evidence for either those two
answers as there is for Zozo- that being zero- it's a special kind of irony that the belief
Zozo is not real requires just as much fact-less faith as the belief that it is.

lot of things that put them in a position to where traditionally they
couldn't go about purchasing these things these are people have a smile
that have a right to smile and and I don't think that it's something that
it's something I'm incredibly passionate about so with that we're going to stop
