Hey guys, welcome back
This is actually the second part to like my cleaning getting your life together type videos
I had initially intended to do kind of like a four video series for that
But I actually decided that I kind of wanted to hold off on that
Because my life has been some like hectic and crazy with all the holidays as I'm sure yours have been as well
so I'm gonna wait for that until the springtime because I am gonna be moving in like two months anyway, so as
Important it is to organize before you move. I don't really see a point in getting so
Organized and like rearranging rooms and stuff because am I gonna be here for that much longer?
But in that first video that I showed you guys might clean with me. I did it like a huge
clean of of my house and
part of that
Which I think is super important is also kind of like the upkeep of the cleaning because in the past for me at least
when I
Used to clean I used to do like one
Huge clean like every week every other week because I would just I would clean it on like a Friday or Saturday
And then I would ignore everything throughout the entire week
It would get super messy super gross and then I would do the whole thing over again next week
Which is just a big waste of time
But I think I kind of got almost addicted to that because it made me feel accomplished
So instead of doing other things that I should be doing
I would just clean and say like, oh, it's no I clean this week and I did something productive I decided that
once I clean it once I want to do like one big clean and then
Create a system so that I don't have to
Be like doing big huge cleanings like every week so
That is exactly what I did. I created a system
I haven't been completely following it and I'll discuss that more later on
But I created the system so that you can do one bit clean and then just keep it consistently clean as you go
Without it being so overwhelming or so crazy without you having to spend like hours
every day
I like trying to keep your house clean like feeling like you're constantly like just
Cleaning things picking up after things and just it gets to a point where you're like, oh my gosh
I just feel like I'm cleaning all of the time
Hey guys. Okay, so I know that this is super weird
but I was editing this video and realized that when my camera cut out I
didn't
Go back far enough because I cut out in the middle and I thought I was good
So I just kept going but it had cut out for like a whole minute. I have Daisy here with me
She's really upset because as you can tell in the beginning of the video
And then you'll be able to tell the end of this video. She was
Chewing a toy
During that whole video and you can hear it very faintly in the background and of course
I don't know why she always wants to chew this like really crunchy
like toy right underneath the camera every single time I film
So I have it in my hand and she is hunting for right now. We're trying to get it back
So I'm gonna do this really quick what I was getting to before my camera cut off was
that if you were interested in figuring out how to make a cleaning schedule, that's not
Overwhelming for you then make sure that you keep watching and my lovely camera also cut out for the very first tip
Step the very first step of this video which was to write out every single room in your house
It just kind of helps keep things organized if it's like category if it's categorized upfront
Just write out every single room in your house for me. This even included like laundry rooms, but laundry rooms
I only have one laundry room the laundry room and included the bathrooms all the bedrooms
so basically every room in your house make sure you list that out and then we'll go in that two at the next step which
We'll get back to normal me. So once you have all of your brooms listed the next step is to
Go through every single room and list out
Every single thing that needs to be it cleaned doesn't matter if it's something that you only do in a few months
It doesn't matter if it's something that you do you feel like you daily. Just make sure you list out everything
so this could even be things like
Taking out the trash washing windows washing mirrors doing the dishes vacuuming sweeping mopping
you know the typical things that you do when you clean just list out every single saying
Which I know in the beginning my seemed super
Overwhelming like there are so many things that you have to clean how we ever get it accomplished
but from this step, we will go through and will minimize it and break things with tiny little pieces so that it's not
super overwhelming
So what the next step is to go through those things?
that you've listed the various cleaning items that you have and just kind of do a
Slight like guesstimate of how much time it will take you to complete those tasks
So I know things like might just kind of depend on the the week or the day or whatever like you might have way more
Dishes one day than you will next but you can take you know
Like on average it takes me like ten minutes to load and unload the dishwasher everyday or it
Takes me like half an hour to vacuum the entire house. It takes me five minutes sweep the kitchen
You just just do like small guests two minutes. It doesn't have to be super accurate
You just kind of want to get an idea of how much time it takes
You to clean certain things and with doing this I want you to also ask yourself
How much time do I actually want to spend doing this?
How much time do I want to have to spend every day cleaning? How much time do I actually have to clean every day?
So for me I try to keep it to like half an hour or less because I don't want to be spending my entire
Evening after work cleaning it
So just ask yourself realistically how much time you have each day each week each month to really put towards cleaning your place
Next is the fun part
So you're going to go through each one of your tasks and figure out if it's something that you feel like you should be doing
Daily weekly or monthly
So for me most of my daily class daily tasks are pretty basic
so it's basically just loading and loading the dishwasher doing my dishes kind of a thing and
Basically, just picking up them after myself
And then cleaning off the countertops and like the kitchen and the bathroom because they get really messy easily
But most of it on daily tasks is just cleaning up after yourself
Clean up and if you do this throughout the day
It won't really be a big deal if you take out a notebook put it back when you're done with it
You bring your laptop out put it back in your room when you're done with it, you know basic simple things, but you know
I think we all kind of
Get a little bit lazy sometimes and we don't do that, but that will definitely make you're cleaning time
less every single day
So just go through and think about truly what you would need to do daily for you to feel comfortable and ok with that
one of the things I really contemplated when I was doing this was actually vacuuming part of me really wanted to
Vacuum and sweep and mop daily, but when I was thinking about it, you know
Honestly if I wanted to vacuum my entire place daily
It would probably take at least half an hour to an hour harder to do that
And I just you don't want to be spending that amount of time on it. So I kind of had to ask myself
Well, if I only you do this once a week
Can I live with that go through your task set figure out what you want to do daily what you want to do?
Weekly what you want to do monthly
So like I said vacuuming is l/o weekly tasks for me sweeping and mopping is a weekly task for me laundry is a weekly task
Month monthly tasks for me are like washing my car
Cleaning out the refrigerator
Small things like that that don't necessarily need to be done every single week but should still be done fairly
Frequently because if you don't it might just kind of get really gross and disgusting. So now that you have
lifted out what you're going to
Be doing daily weekly and monthly. I want you to then go through your week
literally right up Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday Thursday
Friday Saturday Sunday and write out the different tasks that you're gonna have to do every single day. So
Like for me, um, I have my daily tasks written out first. It was a daily task
These are the exact groups that I want to complete. These tasks are where the tests need to be done. And then
After that, I've scheduled my weekly tasks. So I split it into seven
Weekly tasks some different rooms that I have to finish I then separate that two into each day
So, um like Fridays for me on my weekly kitchen cleaning days
Thursdays are my weekly living room cleaning days
Sundays are my weekly
Bedroom cleaning days so plan those accordingly as well. And then for your monthly tasks
I split my monthly tasks into four days
so that I could have four weekend days like you
Roughly four weeks in a month, so it's basically like one day
Each week to be a monthly task
so like the first
Saturday of every month is my car cleaning day the
second Saturday of every month is whatever else I need to clean next for that month plan your tasks according to the days and make
Sure, you spread them out. So you're not doing all your cleaning on Saturday all of your cleaning on Sunday?
You have it spread out throughout the week. So it's not overwhelming. You're not spending a significant amount of time on any given day on
Those cleaning tasks and the last thing which is probably the most important thing is that once you have your schedule
Created is to post it somewhere where you can see it every single day. That's the biggest mistake that you've made
That's why I haven't been sticking to it. It's because I have it like
Somewhat memorized but I definitely don't have it completely memorized
So if you if I don't know what tasks I have to do every day
How can I complete them? If I don't know which days are my living room days are my laundry room days
How can I complete those tasks?
So I'm actually going to be printing it out putting up on my refrigerator
So that I can see every single day know exactly what I need to clean so that I don't miss any important committee tasks. Oh
I think we got through it all ok, guys. So this is how you can to create a cleaning schedule
That won't be overwhelming to you
Remember that the most important thing is just breaking up all your cleaning into the different days of the week and into small tasks
So that you're not spending a ton of time on any given day working on that cleaning task
All right, guys. I hope that this helped you out if you end up trying it out and it really works for you
