We are gonna learn as much as we can about the Flyboys of Denmark

This is the royal danish air force its history its community and its valour what's going on guys

We are looking at the danish air force and for me i'm pretty excited for this because we've done a lot of videos looking at

Military units within denmark i've looked at how powerful this country is

And I've just talked a lot about some good things about the country itself

So learning more about Denmark is always a thing that I like to do and me being Canadian, you know

I like to learn about a lot of different countries in Europe and see how they're doing things differently from my own

With that in mind before I get started into this video

I'm just gonna let you guys know that down in the description box below if you guys are here from military

I'm gonna talk about that more a little bit later cuz let's just get started talking about the facts

Alright, let's get on to the facts of Denmark

so I'm gonna look at history and I'm gonna look at how it is today because I like history and I know you guys probably

Do too so, who are these guys and what do they do?

Well, according to the main website the Royal Danish Air Force website the mission

Is that the Air Force controls all military flights in Danish airspace with the Danish aviation soldiers being deployed in?

international operations and within this motto

They also stand for the participation in international operations search and rescue tasks airspace

monitoring and rejection readiness maritime

environmental tasks support for police and special forces and of course Air Transport and VIP

flights now the Air Force itself is considered quite a new department in terms of all the

Branches that are within the Danish Armed Forces because for this unit it started on October 1st 1950

But in mind that doesn't mean that Denmark didn't have any form of military Air Force

Beforehand as a matter of fact it did it had two separate units

But this new Air Force the Royal Danish Air Force was pretty much created out of a merger of two

units now

these units were the Danish Army Air Corp or better known as the herons flavor trooper which began on July 2nd of

1912 as well

There is the Marines flyby vessel

Which was formed a year prior to that on December 14th 1911 now for these units because I love learning about history

I don't know about you guys

But hey, you can't understand how the new Royal Air Force works if you don't understand the past, so let's take a look at these

Individual groups and learn what we can from them

Now the herons flavor trooper initially started off with only one plane and that was the bergen storm

monoplane with his first unit flight

operating out of clover Markin

of course during the Second World War this unit operated quite a handful of aircraft with approximately about

70 of them and for them they used a lot of breeder class planes from the Netherlands

Also de Havilland's and of course glacier gauntlets as for the Marines flyer vaison

They had about 27 forms of aircraft during the Second World War for this unit

They used jour nears Hawker Nimrod hikin he8 and Hawker. Dam troughs

Now when it comes to the Second World War, we've talked a lot about this

Especially when it comes to me learning about the Danish army, which actually guys by the way

if you guys are really interested in learning more about

Military units within denmark. Well, you guys want to hit this card right here

I'm also gonna put it at the end of the video in the description box below

But if you guys just want to learn more about military units just an FYI

I've put everything in a nice little playlist

So you can just learn all of our military facts

Especially a lot of people from denmark like learning about their own country that also being said I've also done videos about Denmark itself

So I'll put those at the end and throughout this video as well

So feel free to click on that at any time

But getting back to the Second World War one downside we know is that Denmark was pretty much occupied by Germany and during that time

Germany didn't allow the country and

Individuals to operate planes now also during that time

I should mention the fact it's widely known that four pilots from Denmark volunteered for the German Luftwaffe

Which is the air force of Germany now, I know that's not really a positive good fact

But it is history now also in the same breath

I should mention the fact that a lot of pilots and individuals have fled from the country and

Joined other units around the world and of all these units I should mention one of the more popular ones and that is the Danish

Brigade that was operated in Sweden beginning on November 15 1943

now one thing that I was reading about that made me go hmmm here a little bit was the fact that although

Germany lost the war after the war because they had occupied the whole region of Denmark

They left behind a lot of planes and for that I was thinking of myself

I'm like

Yo wait

So did Denmark get a lot of like?

Messerschmitts and a lot of other unused craft or used craft that the Germans had that they just you know didn't end up

destroying

Unfortunately, though that wasn't really the case because truth be told after the war Britain came in and the other allied countries and said now

We're destroying all these aircrafts even Denmark

I'm sorry, but you guys can't have them but of course after destroying all these aircrafts that made a major question

How does Denmark defend itself and that was a big one?

Especially with like Russia coming in and you know that whole tension that was going on in Europe that eventually led to the cold war

So to prevent the Russians from taking air space in Denmark

The British had decided to give Denmark their older leftover planes of Spitfires and Oxford planes

and as a matter of fact they received about forty one of these Spitfires in total after the war and they were in use until

About 1956 until they pretty much decided to scrap them for newer aircraft

Also interesting fact when it comes to the Spitfires and I gotta talk about this because I love Spitfires

I think they're just the coolest plane ever. I'm sorry. P-51 Mustang. You just don't look as cool as a Spitfire. Sorry

I know a lot of people can be like, how dare you say that?

Against the Mustang but back to my fact about the Spitfire they say there's about one while there's one for sure

Maybe a second one that is still floating around

That didn't get scrapped and the weird part is one of these was found in a children's playground

Now I'm saying there might be two because they also stated that they refurbished another one

I don't know if this is the one from the children playground

I do know that they have one that's refurbished and

Basically on display for people to see now as I stated earlier after the Second World War the remaining Danish Air Force units formed what?

Is known now as the Royal Danish Air Force and four Jets

One of the first ones they received was in 1952

These were the FG 84 Thunder Jets and they were given to them as military aid from the United States

You may also wonder why did the United States give this country Jets?

well

like I said

the Cold War was coming in and

Because Denmark was a part of NATO and it was an allied country with the United States and a lot of other European countries

They decided that this is a place that needs to be defended

and of course of these new FG 84s, they say that there was approximately

246 of them given to Denmark anywhere between the years of

1952 to 1954 now, of course

it might seem like a really good idea to give Denmark all these planes then major downside was was

Unfortunately, there were a lot of accidents with these planes

and the reason for this was probably due to the fact of little training within this certain type of craft and

Because of that it resulted in them losing 40 pilots and having over 89 crashes

Also, I should mention that it was shortly after this in about

1957 that Denmark received one of its first helicopters and this was known as the silk or ski s55 chopper

Of course as time went on the Cold War got more and more of a scare and because of that the United States

Decided to beef up Denmark even more in which by the 1960s new missile programs had come into the country

courtesy of the United States and

Ended up being transferred into the Air Force as a matter of fact during this time

The US had installed nike missile systems used to defense against Russia by the 1970s

Denmark had not only received new planes in partnerships with the United States, but it also brought in the Royal Danish Air Service

Which was the newest service that was operating outside of the Air Force itself

fast-forwarding a little bit more by January of 1980 the f16 had been introduced and

Became Denmark's main fighter. And as a matter of fact it is still in use today. It's been around for quite a long time

however

also by the 1990s the Air Force was doing operations in the Yugoslavian Wars by supporting military units with they're

C-130 Hercules as well for the new f-16 they use them in many combat operations such as Kosovo in 1999

And as well in 2002

They also supplied f-16s to Afghanistan for the Allied joint operation known as Enduring Freedom

Which pretty much went from about 2002 to?

2014 should also be mentioned by

2002 they also had interest in replacing the old f-16s and introducing a new fighter and that is the

F-35 and although it took years as of June 9

2016 they've officially chosen the f-35 to eventually replace the f-16

Purchasing approximately 27 of them which in total cost entire budget of 3 billion u.s

dollars now with the mention of the f-16 and the f-35

Let's take a look at equipment how much they got what they do have keep in mind

They do say they operate about 93 pieces of aircraft. That might be right on the nose

It might be inaccurate but it's a good ballpark figure

So for the f-35 s as stated they do have

27 of these on order and they are planned to replace the 30 already in use

F-16s that the country currently has for their super hercules

C-130s. They have approximately four of them. They also use the euro copper fennec which they have 11 of them

And of course, they use the Seahawk, which they have about nine, of course on top of this they also use fourteen

AgustaWestland, which by the way this classifies as a multi-role helicopter

Meaning it's good for utility and combat as well

By the way for these I guess to Westland

I guess the UK and Denmark still have a good partnership

Because the UK bought six of these for Denmark also on a side note now

I didn't know that they just recently did this

But I guess when it comes to Greenland, they don't do very many training operations up there

I guess it's due to the Arctic and cold weather. However for the f-16s in

2014 this was the first time they ever flew these fighters over Greenland to see how these planes operate in Arctic zones

overall on top of that Denmark they say there's approximately

Five known air bases with the Air Force command being located at the corrupt air base

There's also bases in albergue Bornholm

Skagen and screed strap which by the way screech drop is the base that operates and houses the famous

F-16s as well for these soldiers within these bases

The entire Air Force is estimated to have a total personnel of three thousand four hundred and seventy six plus ten

Conscripts also when it comes to the ranking system and there I guess insignias Believe It or Not it follows the RAF

Which is the Royal Air Force from Britain, of course, they do have some changes

But it mostly follows that as well in today's world

The chief of Defense is General Bjorn Bishop. And the Chief of Air Staff is Major General Anders Rex. That is the coolest name ever

Rex I like it

Tyrannosaurus Rex it's gonna bite the wings off of any Russian aircraft coming in

Alright, and of course to close it all off

Although I did mention some of the operations has been a part of such as Enduring Freedom

Kosovo and the Yugoslavian war in between 1960 to 1964

They also flew their s55 helicopters in the Congo as well during Operation Enduring Freedom

between the years of 2002 to 2003 the royal danish air force took part of

743 sorties or attacks and from 2005 to 2007 the helicopters of the royal danish air force

Took part in

354 missions in iraq either way guys. That is me just looking at the Air Force the Royal Danish Air Force of Denmark

I planned a little while ago to go to a buffet

But if I go to buffet, I cannot do a diet only with working out

I bought these pills from GLAM. D " Slim coat one shot care"

4 tablets per day for one week

So I will start eating them from today as I went to buffet

It's said that it works for hangovers too

I will take them

Today's weight

60.6kg

(if we check inside the box)

(there are 7 separate packages, one for each day)

(It should be taken 30 minutes before eating)

(I took them without water as I was in the bus and I had no water so my throat kind of hurt)

(arrived to the buffet)

(Drinking more water so the pills would go down the throat smoothly)

(I know I should eat for one week)

(but it looks even with the pills it won't cover the gain)

My weight on the day I started to eat the pills and went to buffet was 60.6 kg

Today my weight is 61.6 kg

I am considering to use another scale

Because my weight went up

And after I went to buffet

I ate only once per day even though is not good for health

so it means these kind of pills have no results

I am not sure about other people but for me it has no effect

So it means there can be some people who will see no effect if they use these pills

It's Jana!

And as promised we're gonna do a Christmas present haul from hubby's side

so on Christmas morning we had our family Christmas at our house

and then after we're done with our little family Christmas we hang out for

just a little bit and play with a few of our games and then

we pack up and go down to great grandma's house

there's aunts uncles cousins their kids everybody's there

so it's really awesome that everybody comes together on the holidays

and that we live so close that we can all join them so

I just want to show you all the cool stuff that pretty much the kids got while we were over at

great grandma's house

this guy is pretty cute this is from Mema this is I guess

some artists down in the area that they really like and it's just for a quinny's

room he's pretty cute

Pokemon mega connects we got a few of these well

Quin got a few of these and another one

And another one I believe these are all from great-grandma

there's so much going on with all the presents and stuff that

it's kind of hard to keep track where everything comes from

this guy is adorable so you know Emma loves dragons

he's a dragon right

but if you flip up his butt

it's also a unicorn and she loves unicorns

oh my gosh isn't that the cutest thing ever

this is from one of our aunts and it is the most

adorable thing I think she said she found it at Target

oh my gosh so cute

it's like the best of both things that Emma loves

kitties so this was like perfect I think she found it at Costco

dessert cars and stuff with mini shopkins that drive them

so she couldn't wait to get into that

and it dries itself out and then you'll have little friends so that's very

creative of course Emma loves that so that was from great grandma

but it's also a little friend so great grandma got these for the girls

and they're super cute I've never seen that anywhere but very cute

Quinny got this from great-grandma this is something that he really wanted

Pac-man flashback so it has like eight different loaded games on this controller

and you just plug in the controller into you TV right Quinn?

that's pretty cool

Emma got a coloring book we all know how much she loves to color so this was

from one of our aunts

this is for Quinn's room Oh Mema I even wrote on the back buddy

oh that's sweet so this is from meemaw

so he can hang it up in his

Focus, please focus

Auto focus doesn't work when you drop your camera on its lens

so Mema bought this for Quin to hang up in his room

so every time he sees it he can just remember that Mema loves him to the moon and back

very sweet

and actually Emma got one too this you just put on

the shelf the key is the little leg for it to hang out on the shelf

so Emma's gonna put this into her room and think of Mema

just like they wanted so that's perfect

this set is really cool and he loves Legos so that's always a good choice for him

so unicorn yeah

this is super cool the Lego ideas collection

is just a whole bunch of books and stuff of different ways to build things in

Lego which is perfect for Quinn so this was from Mema for Quin

that's perfect right he could build whatever he wants now

Well he already can build whatever he wants

yeah but then he could be like hey I really want to make this how would I do that and he

can just look it up and learn right

this is from great-grandma this is so cute

Emma has made one of these before it was like a cupcake or whatever but they're

just little pillows and it's just a little craft it's so cute but she got unicorn

beanie boo charm bracelets we love

beanie boos they are the most adorable but look how cute so cute

this is so cool little easel and a few canvases all the paints and brushes so this is from

their uncle husband's brother so super cool so we got one for Emma

And one for Quin super cool

all right so of course great-grandma is always good for some clothes

so Quin got a new sweatshirt

a couple of t-shirts

yeah I like the bear huh

oh gosh Emma this one is too cool

so look at that and of course it changes

it's so awesome isn't it I love it

you just want to play with it

this is super cute just a little silver heart

but it's a nice sweatshirt all nice and soft inside

and then we got another switcheroo sweatshirt with cherries

ha it's so crazy that everything has that on it now

all right and then there was just a few things for us adults

I got a Rudolf nightlight guys so cute

this was from Mema my mother-in-law so cute we'll have to get that plugged

in maybe one of the bathrooms

and I got this amazing blanket

from my mother-in-law uh she always gets the best softest blanket and I love blankets

ooh how exciting but it is so soft I don't know where she got it but I'm keeping it

she also found me these little Christmas elf figurines

did you even see these? no They are funny looking

look at these guys

aunt got us this Alaskan knife this is actually the

same kind of knife that I use to you know cut up my bar cookies or my fudge

and all that stuff you saw me use it you know throughout the Christmas season so

these knives are awesome they're from Alaska and I really appreciate that she

got us another one because man these are awesome knives yeah and yeah it's

actually kind of cool it's cooler than the one that I have because it has

Alaska is actually printed on the thing there and it's actually on the handle

also so that's pretty cool

she got my husband this bottle opener look at this

it's actually pretty cool so big I know it's huge

but it's you know the draft handle

Hubby got a nice flannel shirt from his mommy so cute

then of course she always has an awesome stocking filled with lots of treats so

we got all these treats here

and then of course we got gift cards galore I am so excited I got a Sephora

gift card oh my gosh I am in dire need

I'm like on my you know the makeup that

you just hold on to just in case you run out of makeup that you actually like

yeah I'm on to that so I am very excited to go on a Sephora shopping spree

I got Kohl's cards and a little bit of cash so I'm very excited to do a shopping haul

eventually maybe maybe a little later in spring when winter clothes go away

because I'm pretty set for winter but that'll happen and then husband got some

Lowe's gift cards and stuff so that is always good in an Amazon gift card

that's super good we use Amazon for just about everything and then the kids got a

little Target gift card from the cousins and it's just it was just awesome

so I hope you guys had a very Merry Christmas we sure did

it was awesome and filled with love and family

and gifts and everything and it was a very long day

Quin literally just woke up like a half-hour ago

it's noon now so he was pretty worn out

but the day after Christmas I don't know about your house

but it's the best because we just get to hang out and play with everything right?
