The people who need the most help are the people who came from poor families, in bad
neighbourhoods, who went to shitty schools.
It's just something that is a part of you and once you come to terms with that and you
get the resources that you need to deal with that and learn about it and you can continue
on your psychological development, you can surpass every single "normal" person.
Every human being has to go through some degree of psychological development and nobody pops
out into the world with perfect mental health.
When you have been trying to please everybody else for so long and you've been taking these
massive blows to your self-esteem it fucks up everything inside and the things that you
would have been good at, like the things that you would've enjoyed doing and like.. the
things that you..
your gifts!
And like your talents and stuff, they get fucked up too.
What I've realized is every time you overcome a challenge then there's another challenge
and then you overcome that challenge and then there's another challenge but eventually when
you look back over all of your challenges they don't look like challenges anymore.
It's actually weaker if you try and tell everybody how to do everything once you've already made
it to the end of the journey and you've figured it all out because you can't actually remember
what all the obstacles and challenges look like.
It'd be great if you could just remember all of the best knowledge that you've ever discovered,
all at once and live your life by it 24/7 but your brain only has so much capacity for
that.
Putting your mental health struggles into words makes it like more...
Clear to you what you're actually dealing with.
I want to encourage everybody to actually discuss things as you're going through them
because that's actually one of the most helpful ways to grow.
The best way to help other people is to help yourself.
Lead by example and the less you have to begin with and the more fucked up your circumstances
and the more disadvantaged you are, the more impressed everybody's gonna be when you overcome
that shit and the more of your friends and family and people that you care about, who
you want to influence are gonna ask you "How did you do that?
Why is your life amazing now?"
And that's when you'll start helping people.
You don't know what's gonna happen tomorrow or next week.
You don't know how soon something amazing is gonna happen in your life.
One of the things that I thought that I wouldn't come across so quickly was ways that you can
actually overcome a lot of the simple problems that come with mental illnesses.
The thing about mental illness is every single struggle is completely unique so you need
to treat them in a way that is as unique as they are.
I've discovered that there's people out there doing that.
They're just like..
There's just like a group of people over here who are really good for this particular group
of people over there and stuff like that.
When I started the channel it was about pointing out all the flaws and like finding all the
problems and lobbying for support to go and change the system but now it's more just discovering
awesome things that awesome people are doing and trying to share it with as many people
as possible so that more people can live a better life.
Meditation is the fastest way to sort through all of your problems in life.
When you think like this is the way that life's supposed to be and I'm not matching up with
it, you can learn to live in the world that is your world.
You don't need to change it.
People go to extraordinary lengths just to get their life looking like it's on track
and it's not important.
What's important is like how you feel about how you're contributing to the world and how
you feel that you're living your life.
My life's all coming together in a way that it never could have if I didn't take the first
step and decide that drugs and alcohol were detrimental to my life.
When you start to talk publicly about the problems that you have on social media, everybody
else who wants to take that shit seriously will gravitate towards you.
I'm really encouraging like.. really like deliberate connection with other people and
bringing them in and like.. just one by one like making these connections that actually
change the world around you and perhaps eventually the entire world like, that would be cool
