Good morning youtube and welcome back to my channel for this full day of eating.
I haven't done one of these in a while so I thought I would show you guys kind of what
I'm eating for the day and I"m also going out for dinner tonight so I'm gonna show you
how I'm managing that with my current diet.
So, it's about 7 in the morning and it's breakfast time.
So, here's a look at what I'm eating.
Okay, so for breakfast I have 2 over-easy eggs, um full eggs, no egg whites and then
over here, I have two packets of what is now called better oats oatmeal and it used to
be called Oat Fit.
Each packet is 100 calories and um, if you guys watched my grocery haul, that was the
first time I picked these up and tried them and honestly, they taste like regular oats
so I highly, highly recommend um, because they are lower in calories and fat.
Then, of course, it's the morning so I have my coffee, fuel to start the day, and then,
over here, I have my full water bottle which I always try to drink a full one of these
in the morning as soon as I wake up just to make sure that I'm staying hydrated.
So yeah, this is a pretty good looking breakfast if I do say so myself and I'm excited to dig
in.
Alright guys so it is about 10:15 in the morning and I've just been doing some work since breakfast,
but since it is the Friday of Memorial Day weekend, we had no class today, um, which
means I'm going to take advantage of being free and off right now and go to the gym when
it is much less crowded.
So, we're gonna be doing um, chest and tricep exercises today and yes, I'm excited to be
there and have the equipment more to myself.
Check in with you guys after the workout.
What's going on youtube?
I am back from the gym and had a pretty good workout.
Like I said, I did triceps and chest, and a little bit of abs.
And if you're interested in that workout, I'm going to post the full video with the
whole workout um, as my next video on my channel.
So, if you wanna see it, make sure you hit that subscribe button, so that you know when
my next video comes out.
Um, so post workout I usually make a protein shake and today I'm actually going to be trying
this um, PEScience chocolate peanut butter cup protein for the first time.
So, as you guys know if you've watched my other videos, I absolutely love the PEScience
snickerdoodle protein.
It's like my go-to protein, um favorite of all time.
So I thought I would try this one out.
I've heard good things about chocolate peanut butter proteins in general and I really like
the PEScience snickerdoodle one so, I'm hoping this is good.
So, I always mix my protein shakes with um, milk and as you guys know, I'm lactose intolerant
so I use lactose-free milk.
This one happens to be 1%.
I'll either use 1% or skim but I just think that protein shakes taste a lot better when
mixed with milk or almond milk that they do with water.
They're just not good with water.
I definitely wouldn't recommend um, using plain water, unless, of course, you have to.
So, I usually do about 10 ounces of my liquid.
So, I'm going to measure that now in my blender bottle.
Okay, and then I'm just going to do one scoop of the protein powder.
Alright, now, close our lid and shake it up.
So, I'm sitting here with the lid open and I can smell the chocolate.
It smells good it smells like real chocolate, not um, kind of like that artificial sweetener
taste of chocolate so that's a good sign.
Alright, that should be pretty good.
Okay, so moment of truth.
Let's try it out.
It's pretty good.
Um, it's definitely more chocolatey with like a peanut butter aftertaste.
Um, but it's pretty good.
It tastes kind of like um, a milkshake.
This is definitely more of a good one to satisfy a sweet craving.
As far as over all taste, I think I probably like the snickerdoodle a little bit better
but it's still really, really good.
Um and this is more of specific taste so it probably won't mix as well like in recipes
and stuff.
Like sometimes I like to add protein powder to, the snickerdoodle's a little bit more
neutral so it might be better for that, but this is good to kind of satisfy a sweet tooth
cause this could almost be like a dessert.
So yeah, pretty good.
I'm liking it.
Um, the macros for this are 120 calories, 1 gram of fat, 4 grams of carbs and 23 grams
of protein.
Now, I think that's pretty similar to the snickerdoodle flavor.
Except the snickerdoodle flavor I believe only has 1 gram of carbs, whereas this one
has 4 so this is a tiny bit higher carbs, but still 4 grams of carbs for the whole thing
is pretty dang good.
Um, so yeah, I would--over all I would recommend this yeah, but I still think that the snickerdoodle
is more my favorite.
So, while I site here and drink the rest of my protein shake, um I just wanted to talk
to you guys about working out when you're sick.
Um, i don't know if you can tell from my voice, but I definitely have a little something going
on.
I'm not sure if it's allergies or if I'm getting a cold.
At first I thought it was allergies, but now I'm thinking that it might be a cold because
I'm feeling kind of achey and and tired and just not... okay good timing.
So, I know a lot of times when we're feeling sick we're not sure if we should go to the
gym or if we should you know, rest and kind of just listen to our bodies and maybe skip
the gym.
So, I wanted to offer my opinion on that and I think that it really depends on you and
how you're feeling and how bad your sickness is.
I think if you're feeling any kind of GI, stomach sickness like nauseous or if you're
having diarrhea, um, then I would say skip the gym just because it's really important
to not get dehydrated when you are having those types of illnesses and doing you know,
working out dehydrates you.
So I think um, I would probably recommend not going to the gym if you're having like
the stomach bug or the flu or anything like that.
Um, also if you have a fever I would say avoid the gym, but if you're like me where you kind
of just have a little bit of a runny nose, um you might be a little stuffed up or have
a slightly sore throat or something like that, that's when the decision is kind of up to
you.
Um, sometimes I find that when I work out and I'm feeling stuffy, It kind of almost
helps to clear my sinuses um, and it makes me feel better because the endorphin rush
that you get from working out kind of makes you feel better and boosts your mood and your
energy levels for a little bit.
Um, that being said, if you're really not feeling great or if you're feeling like achey,
maybe I would skip the gym and just kind of give yourself a day to recover.
That's kind of just my personal take on it, but I think if you're having anything serious,
you know, like fever, vomiting, nausea, diarrhea, chills, or aches, then I would say skip the
gym and don't feel bad about it, You need to listen to your body and you need to give
yourself time to recover.
Or if you're in the middle of a workout and you're like "you know what, I'm just really
not feeling this, I don't feel good," or you start to feel dizzy, then you know, don't
be afraid to leave the gym.
I've done that before.
Left after like 20 minutes because i was just like you know what, this isn't working.
So you really just need to listen to you body and um, at first it can be difficult.
You know, you have to kind of experience it because everybody's a little bit different
and see how your body reacts to certain things.
Um, but if you're feeling sick, just don't push yourself too hard.
Maybe workout but use lighter weights or instead of doing like sprints you know, maybe just
do some steady state cardio or something like that to get moving or sometimes I'll do yoga
instead of one of my you know, bodybuilding style workouts.
Um, just so I can get moving and still be active, but do something at a much lower intensity.
If you can go, definitely make an effort to, but don't you know, push yourself too hard
and don't beat yourself up about it if you don't go.
Alright well I'm going to finish the rest of this protein shake and I'll check in with
you guys later.
Alright guys so it's now about 1:00 and I am sitting down to lunch.
So, since I am home today and I have a little bit more time I decided to try something new.
So I actually made myself a little um, low carb homemade pizza.
So here's how it came out, um pretty solid.
I'm pretty happy with it um so what I used for the base was these um, proteinUP flatout
uh, wraps and so these have 12 grams of protein and only 18 grams of carbs which is pretty
good for a wrap.
So I used that as my base and then here uh let me show you guys the pizza.
So this was my final product.
So I have the wrap as my base, then I put uh just some tomato sauce on there.
I have 2 ounces of chicken that was already cooked and then I took a reduced fat mozzarella
cheese stick and I just kind of split it up and um put it all over.
And then I just put some lettuce on there.
Um I think that might be arugula--I'm not totally sure if I'm being honest.
Just for some greenery and some color.
If I had to do this again I would probably not put the lettuce on until after I took
it out of the oven.
Um, just because as you can see, they got a little wilted and I think it would maybe
taste better if they were fresh.
So, I just set my oven to 375 and I ended up keeping it in there for about 7 minutes.
Um, just until the cheese melted and it was warm because I didn't want my wrap to burn.
So, it got a little crispy but um, not burnt.
So also I just wanted to clear things up for people who might be new to my channel or people
who might be confused.
Um, in the last clip I said I was lactose intolerant, but then here I'm eating cheese
and I had whey protein with my lactose free milk.
So I just kinda wanted to explain that.
Um, yes I'm lactose intolerant and um, that means that I can't digest dairy on my own.
However, there are pills you can take that contain the lactase enzyme.
So as long as you take those pills when you eat lactose, you can eat pretty much whatever
you want.
So I try to cut down on the amount of pills I have to take by using lactose free milk
or my lactose free cottage cheese, but um, there are some things that just don't come
um, in lactose free and I know a lot of people give up dairy, but personally it's just not
something that I am willing to do.
I love my cheese and my dairy way too much and I've found that I really don't have any
digestive symptoms as long as I take my pills.
So, for me personally, the best thing to do is just continue to eat dairy and make sure
that I take my pills.
So I just wanted to clear that up for anybody who may be confused.
I still eat dairy I just have to take the pill when I eat it so that I can digest it
properly.
Alright so I finished my pizza which was really really good by the way um, highly recommend.
I'm going to play around with the recipes a little bit more and try out some more combinations
and then I will do a how-to video on making that pizza um, some different combinations
that you can try.
So now I'm just going to have one of these sugar free dark chocolate jello puddings.
And this is the package.
Each one is 60 calories and it is 1.5 grams of fat, 11 grams of carbs and 2 grams of protein.
So this is a great way to kind of just like calm that sweet tooth that you have at the
end of a meal and you know, keep your calories low.
So, I have been loving these things in my 12 week diet so far.
So, I'm just going to enjoy this and then I am going out to dinner later as I mentioned.
So I'll show you guys what I end up getting there.
Alright check in with you guys later.
Okay guys so it was really loud in the restaurant so I wasn't able to film but this is what
I ended up getting.
We went to a Mexican restaurant and I got this steak taco salad.
It came in this fried tortilla shell, but I didn't eat that part just because um, it's
a lot of extra fat and carbs that I didn't want.
So I had basically just some lettuce and it was steak and some vegetables.
There was also a large amount of sour cream and guacamole on top.
Um I would probably recommend asking for these on the side just because this is definitely
more than what I would have eaten if I put it on myself, but you know, I'm not trying
to be perfect and going out and being social, spending time with my friends is definitely
still important to me so, I just kind of moved it to the side and continued to eat.
So it's important to make sure that dieting doesn't consume your life and that you can
still go out and have fun with friends.
So I hope you guys enjoyed this video and if you did, please give it a big thumbs up
and as always, if you want to see more videos from me in the future, don't forget to hit
that subscribe button.
Alright, bye guys!
