I Have a Friend: Who is Caught in Addiction - Duration: 28:30.[ANNOUNCER]
The following
program is brought to you
by the friends and
partners of Time of Grace.
[MUSIC]
Welcome to Time of
Grace; I'm Pastor Mike
Novotny.
He seemed too young to be
an alcoholic.
During my first year as a
pastor, I met a young man
who was in jail because of
the drinking problem that
he couldn't stop.
I talked to him about
Jesus, I explained to him
about forgiveness, and he
started to get better.
When he got out of jail, I
baptized him, we
celebrated, and I watched
him grow until he slid
back.
His struggle got worse and
worse and worse; the
police were called, his
relationships fell apart.
And then one day, weeks
later, I sat with him in
his empty garage and I
told him I run marathons
and not sprints.
I'm going to be with you
for the long haul; I'm not
going to give up just
because you stumbled.
But in my heart, I still
search for the right words
to say.
What do you say when
someone you know and love
is addicted to alcohol?
What if that's your
struggle or your son or
your daughter's or your
best friend's?
Today Pastor Mark Jeske is
going to open God's word
and remind us what to do
and what not to do when
someone we love struggles
with an addiction.
[MUSIC]
[PASTOR MARK JESKE]
There's a little
quiz; a one question quiz:
How many amendments are
there to the United States
constitution?
Who knows?
[Audience: Laughter]
Alright, I heard 25;
that's warm.
You want to take a shot?
[Audience: Too many.] Too
many, ha!
[Audience: Laughter]
That's the comment from
the peanut gallery here in
the front; too many.
There are 27, which is
what I thought.
I had to look it up though
just to make sure because
if I'm going to lay it out
there to you, then I
better be sure.
Twenty-seven.
Alright, you didn't do so
well on that one.
How about I give you an
easier one: How many of
the amendments to our
constitution have been
repealed?
[Audience: One] Correct;
that's the correct answer.
Which one was repealed?
I can't hear you.
[Audience: Prohibition]
Prohibition; the
eighteenth.
It was passed in 1917, it
took two years to work its
way through ratification
and the Volstead Act under
the leadership of a kind
of - one of our Minnesotan
neighbors who apparently
wanted to do whatever he
could to destroy the
economy of the state of
Wisconsin...
[Audience: Laughter]
...was a
teetotaler and a
tremendous advocate of
prohibition.
The Volstead Act was
passed in 1919.
It was repealed in 1933.
The 21st amendment
repealed the eighteenth.
People in the 1800s hated
what alcohol was doing to
their families - at least
there was enough of a
movement to cause the
powers that be in
Washington to actually go
through all the energy to
pass legislation and amend
the constitution, which
not only you have to do in
Washington, but then it
has to be ratified by a
minimum number of states.
That's a lot of work!
And the Christians were
really behind this
movement, at least a lot
of them were.
One of the most vocal
advocates of what was
called temperance back
then, was the WCTU, the
Women's Christian
Temperance Union.
There was a Christian
evangelist by the name of
Reverend Billy Sunday who
was very famous for his
crusades in those years
and here is what he said
in 1919: "The reign of
tears is over.
The slums will soon be a
memory.
We will turn our prisons
into factories and our
jails into storehouses and
corn cribs.
Men will walk upright now.
Women will smile.
Children will laugh.
Hell will be forever for
rent."
Hmm, not so much.
What actually happened was
by criminalizing something
that the majority of
Americans wanted to do,
all it did was jack up
bootlegging as a criminal
enterprise and modern
organized crime as we know
it really rose out of the
1920s.
Like every other of God's
gifts, the gift of alcohol
can be horribly abused.
It is a gift.
When Jesus and his Father
decided the time had come
to reveal his almighty
power and glory, what did
he do?
Did he heal a leper?
Did he raise up a cripple
from off the ground?
No, he did that plenty of
times later.
What did he do?
He [Audience: Made wine]
He manufactured wine and
not just a little teeny
little sipper glass for
the groom and one for the
bride.
How much wine did Jesus
create in his first
miracle?
One hundred twenty
gallons!
He made a lot of wine
because he liked it and he
wanted these people to
have a sufficient quantity
so that they could have a
great party.
And yet, the Scripture
also tells us repeatedly
that when you no longer
are controlling it and it
starts to control you and
you lose control and you
become addicted that you
forfeit - and you live in
that world - you can
forfeit your eternal
salvation.
There will be no
drunkards; you just heard
me read it a bit ago.
This is the work of our
sinful nature.
Drunkenness is a
punishable sin.
God hates it.
And here we are in the
middle of the human mess
where we've got God's
blessings on the one hand,
a blessing so great - of
all the substances in the
world, what did Jesus pick
to give you his body and
his blood?
Ordinary, world-widely
available substances - he
said a piece of bread and
a sip of wine found in
every country in the
world.
There was no electric
refrigeration back then.
When they had grape juice,
it wouldn't last because
it would immediately, in
that warm climate, start
to ferment.
They didn't have fridges
where they could keep
their Welch's in a nice
little jar or can or
something like that.
Every juice immediately
began to ferment so they
either drank it
immediately or let it go
to wine.
Wine would stabilize and
became an accepted table
beverage and Jesus picked
alcohol to be the vehicle
to give you his blood.
Isn't that amazing?
That shows that this isn't
intrinsically essentially
evil.
It's only what we do with
it.
And now here we are.
There's only two kinds of
people here today - either
you yourself have an
addiction problem,
possibly with - and
there's many things you
can be addicted to; I'm
going to center my remarks
today mostly on alcohol
and addiction to alcohol
but there are many other
things people get addicted
to.
You can be addicted to
street drugs.
You can be addicted to
pills, to prescription
drugs.
You can be addicted to
food.
You can be addicted to
sex.
You can be addicted to all
kinds of stuff.
Some people have
addictions to running;
they run too much and
pound their knees, the
cartilage in their knees,
into slush.
You can do anything too
much and when you're
driven by things you can't
control, you become an
addict.
The other half of you are
people who are friends
with or close to or
related to or married to
someone with an addiction
problem and addiction
always brings shame, it
brings fear, and it brings
an effort to conceal.
The addict, the first
casualty of every
addiction, is lying.
People lie.
They first start lying to
themselves and then they
lie at work and then they
lie to the people in their
home.
And the people who are
married to them or are
children of them or
parents of them often join
in a conspiracy of lying
to protect and shelter
because they don't want it
to come out.
It's the dirty family
secret and so they try to
conceal it and they
pretend.
And it's the pretending
that makes it get worse
and worse until the person
is truly in a pit so deep
he or she cannot climb
out.
I've got some good news
today.
Our Lord Jesus has an
answer!
And if you have a Bible
near you, let me invite
you to look it up.
I'd like you to hear some
thrilling and
inspirational words.
They come from the gospel
of St. John; it's in
chapter eight.
Jesus is talking chiefly
to Pharisees and they
don't like what they're
hearing.
In other words, this is
conflict and yet, here's
the insane thing - Jesus
didn't just say, "Well, to
hell with you all.
If that's what you want,
then go to hell.
I don't care."
He stayed there with them
talking with them.
Why?
Because he liked arguing?
Wrong.
He didn't like arguing any
more than you like
arguing.
He stayed engaged with
them because he gave them
worth and value in spite
of the fact that they
resisted what he was
saying, fought back,
argued against him, and
even joined in a plot.
That gang of Pharisees was
instrumental in organizing
his shameful fake trial
and his basically
executive government,
executive assassination,
through crucifixion.
They bullied Pilate into
having him crucified and
still, Jesus is here,
opening up the gates of
heaven to them to see if
any of them would listen.
And I hasten also to add
not every Pharisee
rejected Jesus and went to
hell.
Some of them did at first
but they changed their
mind later.
One of those Pharisees
that most hated the
teachings of Christ, a man
named Saul, led the
persecutions after Christ
had died and was buried,
rose, and ascended.
And he himself came to
faith.
Paul was a Pharisee and
ended up being the author
of 13 of the books of your
New Testament.
Jesus stayed engaged and I
guess that's sort of clue
number one - I'm going to
talk now to the people
whose lives are touched by
those with addictions.
Shunning is not the right
answer, at least at first.
Though you may be repelled
by the person's behaviors,
shunning never works.
Saying, "Oh, they're so
icky," and just running
away is not good.
Stay engaged.
It's what you do with
somebody with a friend
who's got an addiction is
start with unconditional
love.
That means your love for
that person is not based
on that person's
performance.
Same as Christ's love for
you is not based on your
performance for him; it's
based on his decision to
like you.
It's a big deal.
It's called grace and your
"What to do with somebody
in my family who is caught
up in an addiction?"
starts with grace also.
You have worth.
You have behaviors right
now that are not right but
you have worth.
You matter to me.
You have value.
I'm not going to hate you.
I'm not going to let my
fear and scorn make me
beat you down even farther
because what do you think
- what's behind the
attitudes of people who
are addicted to something?
Whether it's binge eating
or binge throwing up or
whether it's taking pills,
stealing pills or buy
pills and popping them,
what's behind that?
People - alcoholics don't
do it for the sheer pure
pleasure of throwing up
twice a day in the toilet.
They don't drink because
for the pure pleasure of
vomiting.
Why do they drink?
Maybe first to feel good,
then they drink to stop
feeling bad.
They drink because they
don't like their life.
They drink a lot because
they hate their life.
They overload because it's
a variation of a type of
suicide.
They wish it were over.
They wish it would stop.
They want to make the pain
stop somehow and they have
not figured out
constructive ways of doing
that.
And so they take cheap
shortcuts and not only do
they have addictive
instincts, the very
chemical nature of the
drugs or the alcohol that
they're taking interacts
with their body and
creates then a physical
dependency.
But I hasten to add that
the dependency of an
addict is only partially
physical; a lot of it is
mental and emotional, as
well.
You and I are part of
God's rescue team.
We're not here just to run
away from evil stuff but
God also enlisted us as
his agents to care about
the ones slipping away and
doing what Jesus did and
stay engaged and give them
a shot.
Jesus said, "If you hold
to my teaching, you are
really my disciples."
So that's the key to
everything is being a
believer in who Jesus is
and being a believer in
what Jesus did.
And he came to bring
unconditional love and
unconditional forgiveness.
That means our first
message for Pharisees and
for addicts is God loves
you and forgives you not
because of who you are,
but in spite of who you
are.
And his mercy is bigger
than your failures.
His forgiveness is bigger
than your sins.
His love is bigger than
your fear and self-hatred.
But it requires that you
first empty yourself and
stop pretending, stop
lying, stop the games and
that's why when somebody
shows up at an AA meeting,
what's the first thing
they make that person do?
They'll gang up on them if
they have to but step one
of the 12 steps is: "I am
an alcoholic and I'm
helpless to change
myself."
That's humbling, isn't it?
Some people can't get
there.
That's why one of the
strategies of AODA
counselors is some people,
though you want to change
them and their life is
going crazy, they're
risking losing their jobs,
they won't start changing
until they have hit
bottom.
As long as they're still
clinging to some fantasy
about their power, they're
not ready yet to change.
And it's sad to see what
is bottom for people?
Sometimes it's literally
bottom; they get literally
to death's door.
They're that close to
dying before they're
finally ready to say,
"Nothing in my hands I
bring.
Lord Jesus, what have you
got for me?"
Jesus said, "You will know
the truth and I have
truth.
Without me, you don't have
truth."
You have lots of pieces of
truth, you have details
and ideas scattered
around, but I'm the only
one that pulls it all
together to give a
coherent world view that
makes any sense and that
aligns with reality.
And that truth will set
you free.
In other words, you are
slaves but until you
realize your slaves, I
can't help you.
That's your problem,
Pharisees.
They said, "We are
Abraham's descendants.
We've never been slaves of
anyone."
Really?
Remind me what you were
doing in Egypt for several
hundred years.
What was that exodus
about?
Tell me again, exodus from
what?
Who was Moses?
Or what exactly did Moses
do?
Remind me.
What is this "we've never
been slaves?"
They were so into their
race, they were so into
their performance, which
gave them the illusion of
control over their
relationship with God,
they were blind to the
fact that Satan was making
monkeys out of them and
Jesus had to straighten
them out.
"How can you say we shall
be set free?
Jesus said, 'I tell you
the truth, everyone who
sins is a slave to sin.'"
And the problem with
substance addictions is
it's not only a sin
slavery, it now becomes a
chemical slavery, as well.
"A slave has no permanent
place in the family but a
son belongs to it forever.
So if the Son," with a
capital "S", what did
Jesus mean with a Son with
a capital "S?"
Himself.
"If I set you free, you
will be free indeed."
Here is hope to give to
people who are hopeless.
Here's encouragement to
give to people whose only
encouragement, whose only
coping strategy, is to get
another bottle, to crawl
inside that bottle and
then do the jump and jive
and dance and whatever you
have to do to pretend that
you're normal and can
handle your life even as
your life, is obvious to
everybody you, is spinning
out of control.
Tell them the truth.
Cut through the bologna
and lies and the
pretending.
Tell them you've got
nothing.
Tell them that
uncontrolled drunkenness
and surrendering to this
will endanger your
everlasting salvation.
If your life is bad now,
as bad as it is now,
you're not in hell yet.
You may think you're in
hell but you are not; it's
going to get worse.
But give them, as you give
them unconditional love,
give them unconditional
gospel, as well.
That there is mercy even
for someone in your
situation and your Savior
Jesus does not despise
you.
In fact, he came all the
way down to our mud to
show mercy and kindness to
the people who are victims
of Satan's temptations.
But that's your chance.
You need to believe that.
People also need the
experience of expert
guides to get out of an
addictive hole.
And I'm not necessarily
giving a blanket
endorsement to this
organization because I
don't know enough about it
but from all of my
experience over the years,
one of the organizations
that most successfully
caught up in addictions is
AA, Alcoholics Anonymous.
And one of the reasons is
because it's run by former
alcoholics or we call
them, not former, people
who are alcoholics who are
no longer drinking.
And what that does is it
gives them a radar that
they catch people in their
lying, pretending
behaviors.
You can't fool those women
and those dudes sitting in
the circle because they
know all the scams, they
know all the dodges, and
they will call you out and
not let you get away with
making your excuses.
And they'll be brutal.
They don't tippy toe
around because they know,
they've faced death,
they've faced the pit, and
they know we're not going
to dink around.
They will tell you if
you're acting and talking
like an idiot.
You're also hooked up with
a sponsor who's an older
and wiser and more mature
person who's ahead of you
in the recovery scale.
And that's somebody you
can call at two in the
morning when your hand is
already on the vodka
bottle and they are there
for you.
They don't mind being
woken up because they
would rather you call at
two in the morning than
that you smash yourself to
oblivion again drinking
again.
And also, when you fall -
if you fall - they don't
get all judgmental on you
and they will encourage
you, rally around you, and
help you get back on your
feet because hardly
anybody crawls out of the
pit on the first try.
There often are many
relapses and they will
help you reorganize and
reload and start over
again and encourage you
and they will help you
mark your progress and
help you realize that
alcohol has now instead of
a blessing of God, Satan
has turned it into your
worst nightmare.
It's your enemy.
No longer look at it like
as a solution to the
problems of your life.
View it as the cause of
the problems in your life.
The biggest of them all
that you and I have going
for us is the
encouragement from Christ.
In a way, we're all slaves
and it helps us keep a
humble tongue in our
mouths.
The last thing someone
trapped in an addiction
needs is a scolding coming
down hill if you think
you're better than they
are.
That would just make them
run away.
For you to shun them and
ignore them - as you're
like the untouchables,
you're unclean, ick - that
may be a last ditch
desperate tough love
measure.
But until you've gotten to
that point, stay engaged.
Pray for them.
Pray with them.
Go with them to AA or take
them to a meeting.
Get some counseling.
If somebody's really deep
into it, there are detox
places here that you can
just show up at and just
ask for help to shock
somebody out of it.
If you need to organize an
intervention where you
gang up on people who are
still in the fog of
pretending, do it because
sometimes it works.
But the power behind it
all is the power of the
Son of God to set them
free.
He promises, right here,
that he will do that as he
does it for you with your
different stupidities and
addictions that you might
have.
The different ways in
which Satan is trying to
enslave you, you may
extend that same
liberating power to people
you know who have become
addicts to some substance.
And Jesus gives people the
ability to have hope,
maybe to see value in
themselves again.
People drink because it's
a form of suicide.
They hate their life and
even hate themselves.
You can just show people
you're worth something.
You can show them
unconditional love and
forgiveness, brokered from
Christ, and let it flow
through you.
And then you will know the
truth and that truth has
the power to set people
free.
Help people on their knees
in humility to look at
Christ as their greatest
asset in their life.
Lord Jesus, nothing in my
hands I bring, simply to
your cross I cling.
Amen.
[MUSIC]
[PASTOR MICHAEL
NOVOTNY] I can still
remember the color of the
paint on my bedroom
ceiling.
Back in high school, I
struggled with a sin.
It wasn't alcohol and I'm
not sure if you'd call it
an addiction, but it was a
struggle.
And night after night, I'd
stare up at that ceiling
until one day I started to
wonder, "Am I still a
Christian?
Would a Christian struggle
this much and so often?
Would a Christian say
sorry to God one day and
then the next, and then
the next, and really be
sorry?"
It was the first time in
my life that I had really
doubted my salvation; I
really doubted that grace
was grace.
But there's a passage
during those days that
sustained me.
In Romans 7, the Apostle
Paul talked about his
struggle with sin.
He cried out, "The good
things I want to do, I
don't do it.
And the stuff that I hate,
I keep on doing it.
What a wretched person I
am!
Who's ever going to save
or rescue me?"
But do you know what he
said next?
"But thanks be to God who
gives us the victory
through Jesus Christ."
He said there is no
condemnation, no anger or
disappointment from God,
for those who are in
Christ Jesus.
Maybe you struggle with
sin like that, too?
Maybe it's alcohol or
pornography or anger or
shopping or food.
Or maybe it's someone that
you know and love.
What I needed most - and
what you need most - what
we all need most is grace.
Is that reminder from God
that there is still hope
and there is still love
and people like us can be
saved.
Remember that.
It's grace that teaches us
to say no to addictions
and worldly passions.
Let's remember that after
all the sin and all the
struggle, even today is a
time of grace.
I'll be back to pray with
you in a second.

[PASTOR MICHAEL NOVOTNY]
No one escapes an
addiction without a lot of
help, help from God and
help from God's people.
So for all of you as God's
people who pray and
support this ministry so
that we can help those who
are addicted with a
message of grace, thank
you.
Would you join me in
prayer?
Dear God, It is so easy
for us to give up on those
who struggle with the same
sin day after day and even
decade after decade.
In those moments when
we're frustrated and we
feel like giving in and
giving up, would you
remind us of your grace?
Would you remind us that
even when we struggle with
the same things day after
day, you still love and
delight in us and you walk
by our side?
Heavenly Father, I pray
especially for those
friends, those parents,
those spouses who love
someone who's caught in an
addiction.
Give them supernatural
perseverance and
endurance, God, that they
can do things with your
help that they could not
do on their own.
Would you help us to be
your people who bear one
another's burdens, even
the heavy burden of
addiction?
We ask for your strength
and your power today
because we desperately
need it and we ask it all
in Jesus' name.
Amen.
For Time of Grace, I'm
Pastor Mike Novotny and it
all starts now.

Ewangeliarz OP - 3 września 2017 - (Mt 16, 21-27) - Duration: 2:34.[music]
Cut yourself loose!
Cut yourself loose from a person
who is trying to dissuade you from
difficult good you want to do.
For example, you are talking to your friend
"I will not give up,
I love
my husband too much
to back off now,
to leave him
in all his misery, all the trouble he is in,
and her reply is: 'Stop it, think about yourself, let it go.' And so on.
You know very well
you are not desperately holding on to him.
You know yourself well enough,
you are aware of your intentions,
you believe the choice you made
is a good and wise choice. It will cost a lot but you really want it.
And this is no neurosis, it is not a compulsion.
You want to do it, you want to undertake something difficult,
even if it costs you an awful lot.
And when you meet someone who wants to dissuade you, just cut yourself loose from them!
Cut it as you wish.
Cut it with words, saying: 'You know what,
get lost with your comments,
with all your wise tips,
I just do not want to listen to you anymore!'
'All these words are coming out of your mouth too lightly,
you are not helping me at all.'
If this person cannot respect what you say,
just cut this relationship.
God has given us a capable heart
so that we can commit
to even the most difficult good.
But if we meet
people who are our enemies on this difficult path,
the enemies of difficult choices, uneasy decisions,
let's not get stuck with them, just cut all such relationships loose.

10 Tips to make Seamless Paper Backgrounds last longer & 2 DIY fixes for your photo studio backdrops - Duration: 16:04.Seamless paper backgrounds are a staple item for both amateur and professional photographers.
They are versatile, reusable and affordable and yet I find it surprising how many photographers
don't take care of them and dispose of them much sooner than needed.
In this video, I am going to give you 10 tips for making your backgrounds last and I am
going to show you two awesome DIY projects.
One will help you weigh down the bottom of your background so it doesn't curl when
you unroll it and the other is a super affordable way to protect and store your backgrounds
to keep them from buckling and to extend their life.
Stay tuned!
Hey gang!
My name is Joe Edelman and my mission is to help photographers like YOU to develop a solid
understanding of the HOWS & WHYS behind great photography so that you can achieve your goals
as a photographer.
Seamless paper backgrounds - I purchased my first one in 1976.
And let me tell you for a young 16 year old photographer - it was the coolest background
ever!
In case you're wondering - it was a 107" #20 Black Savage backdrop.
To this day more than 40 years later - I still use Savage Paper Backdrops as my go to brand
and choice for studio backgrounds.
Paper backdrops are a popular background solution because they are available in a huge assortment
of colors and with gels and lighting there is an almost infinite number of possibilities.
Another bonus to seamless paper backgrounds is the price.
They are more affordable than equivalent sized cloth or painted backgrounds.
That doesn't mean you should think of them as cheap or disposable, in fact just the opposite.
Seamless paper backdrops are made to be used over and over and with proper care and maintenance
they can last for years.
In case you haven't already seen them - I have shared videos in the past about some
great DIY Background options for portraits as well as an awesome DIY Background Holder.
I also have a video explaining why GRAY is my favorite background color - and that's
not as boring as it sounds.
You can find links to these videos in the description below.
While the DIY solutions are great for simple portraits, nothing beats a seamless paper
backdrop for versatility.
Also, full disclosure - I mention Savage Brand Backgrounds because I really have used them
for over 40 years.
I have tried the cheaper brands and the paper is thinner and wears much faster not to mention
that the colors are not consistent and they do fade.
And to be clear - I am not being paid to say that.
This first thing to consider is what is the best size for your needs.
This is going to depend on the type of photography you are doing and the amount of space that
you have to work in.
You wouldn't just randomly pick a light modifier before you shoot - you select the
modifier that is going to give you the kind of light you are looking for and hence the
best outcome.
Selecting a background should be no different.
On the smaller side of things you can get very thin rolls that are great for tabletop
and product photography.
These rolls are 26" wide by 36 ft long.
36 feet is a lot of background so if you are only doing occasional product or tabletop
shots, you may want to consider foam board or poster board or even cloth background options.
A great size for shooting portraits is the 53" by 36 ft roll.
This is just under 4.5 ft wide and it's great for shooting kids, headshots and 3/4 length
shots.
You do have to pay attention when you shoot three quarter length shots.
If you have your subject extend their arms too far - they will be off the background.
Also remember - the farther away from your subject that you place the background - the
smaller it becomes in relationship to your subject.
So for my money - the 53" width is for headshots or portraits only.
The most common size found in studios is the 107in by 36 ft roll.
This gives you a background that is just under 9 feet wide and long enough to roll out and
have your subjects stand on it, lay down on it or even jump on it.
It works great for full-body shots and even small groups.
Savage also sells rolls that are 107" x 150 ft.
Yes – 150 ft which is a monster roll and wickedly heavy - but if you do a lot of work
with seamless and find yourself replacing your backgrounds often - this is a viable
solution.
Some Savage colors are also available in 86" x 36 ft and 140" x 105 ft.
I prefer to hang my backdrops from the ceiling in my studio.
Remember - my home studio that I showed you in this video - only has 8 ft ceilings - so
it is important to me to get the backdrops as tight to the ceiling as possible If you
have higher ceilings, you can easily mount the backgrounds on a wall.
I've included a link in the description below the video to my blog article that lists my
preferred mounting systems.
If you need your set-up to be portable, you can mount your background on stands and a
crossbar.
Unless you want to simply destroy you paper backgrounds and always be fighting with the
stands… don't buy a cheap background stand set.
A 107" x 36ft seamless roll weighs 15 lbs. the 150 ft roll weighs 49 lbs If you are going
to use these big rolls on a portable setup you need to spend a few extra dollars and
buy a heavy duty set-up.
Don't think that using two light stands and a homemade crossbar is a good idea for
the big rolls.
The 53" rolls only weigh 6 lbs, so you can work with a much lighter setup and not run
into problems.
The DIY PVC stand that I mentioned earlier works great for the short rolls.
These are tips that I have learned the hard way by damaging backgrounds and I assure you
- they are worth the little bit of effort they require.
The ability to roll out a seamless background and have your subject stand on it is a big
part of what makes these backdrops so useful.
This works great on hard, even flooring.
If your shooting space is carpeted, you need to place a hard surface like a piece of plywood
or plexiglass between the paper and the carpet otherwise the paper will pucker and crease
- not to mention that the heels of your models shoes will poke right through the paper if
its not on a hard surface.
Even if you have a roller system that prevents the backgrounds from unrolling - A-Clamps
are the most important accessory for your backgrounds.
Don't buy them from a photo supplier - these are not real photography gear.
Get the 6" A-Clamps at Home Depot or Amazon and if you're smart - make it a habit to attach
them to your crossbar - BEFORE you unravel the seamless.
I can't tell you how many times I have pulled a seamless down only to realize that I forgot
to grab the a-clamps and of course the weight of the seamless just keeps pulling the roll
off the bar.
Then you have to roll it back up - go and get your A-Clamps and start all over again
and by this time you have probably creased part of the background.
Avoid walking on the seamless.
Your model can, but you and your assistants should not!
If you want your seamless to last, you can't cut corners on this one.
When I am setting up my seamless rolls and need to place light stands or props on the
seamless, I always remove my shoes and only walk on the paper in my socks.
If you don't want to remove you shoes, you can get removable shoe covers.
These covers are disposable, but in most cases you could use them many times over.
You can purchase 50 pairs of them for less than ten dollars on Amazon.
When it comes to my models walking on my paper backgrounds - I always take a minute and wipe
down the soles of their shoes while they are in the makeup chair and a place a small bathroom
throw rug right at the edge of the paper and ask them to wipe their feet before they step
onto the background.
Do be sure to throw the rug in the washer every so often so that it doesn't collect
dirt and transfer it back to the shoes.
This is something you should already have in your studio but whatever you do - when
you roll that seamless out for your model to stand on it - tape down the edges.
When a paper seamless background is rolled out onto a smooth surface - it slides really
easy.
If you don't tape it - you better have some really good liability insurance because you
are placing your model at risk for a fall, not to mention that Murphy's law pretty much
guarantees that your models high heel shoe will find the edge of the paper and tear it
as she walks onto the set.
BTW - don't use duct tape!
Gaffers tape has a blended resin and natural rubber compound that allows you to remove
it without leaving all the adhesive on the paper.
Duct tape is cheaper but it will destroy your background and leave adhesive residue on your
floor.
A 4 ft by 8 ft piece of plexiglass or clear acrylic is a great way to give your floor
a reflective quality.
The 4x8 sheet is a bit tough to store in smaller studio spaces - but if you have the space
- I highly recommend it.
I can't tell you how many times I have dropped or damaged a roll because I was in a hurry
and trying to handle it by myself.
If you have to work solo - take your time and don't rush.
Ideally - get some help with hanging, changing and rolling up your backdrops.
They'll last longer and you'll curse much less.
I already told you how to prevent smudges and dirt on your backdrops but the reality
is that it will still happen from time-to-time.
White latex free plastic erasers are great for removing a lot of smudges.
These erasers are used for removing graphite on paper and drafting film and they are very
soft and won't damage the seamless paper.
Just don't rub real hard.
Also helpful are simple Swiffer Duster cloths.
I always wipe down the part of the seamless that my model was standing on before I roll
it up and store it.
When you are ready to cut off some of the roll because the end is worn beyond use, don't
use scissors, use a straight edge like a box cutter knife or a heavy-duty arts and crafts
knife.
Since the seamless paper is thick and has a curl – cutting it with scissors will always
give you an uneven and random edge.
I use two pieces of 1" by 4" by 10 ft lumber that you can purchase at a hardware
store for less than ten dollars each.
I place one under the seamless while I use the second one on top as a straightedge to
guide my knife.
This method also insures that you won't scratch or cut the surface of your studio
floor.
This tip applies to pretty much everything photography – cameras, lenses and backgrounds….
if you are a studio photographer it is important to monitor and control the humidity in your
studio space.
Humidity is not your friend, it can cause fungus on your lenses and sensors and it can
cause your seamless backgrounds to buckle.
You can purchase a simple humidity monitor for less than ten dollars.
The ideal relative humidity is between 40 and 50 percent to prevent fungus.
Don't go too low with your humidity because you will run the risk of drying out the rubber
and lubricants in your lenses.
If you have a hard time with humidity in your shooting or storage space, be sure to stay
tuned for my DIY storage tip.
Seamless paper backgrounds will always last longer if you store them standing up – vertically.
If you store them hanging or even laying down, the cardboard cores will eventually begin
to sag in the middle and then the paper buckles and becomes uneven.
When you try to use them they will unroll like this…
Whatever you do - don't just lean them against the wall either.
There are several inexpensive storage solutions available including a super easy and very
effective seamless paper storage clip by Savage.
BTW… storing them in the cardboard box that they were shipped in is not a great plan unless
you are in a very low humidity environment.
That corrugated cardboard that the box is made from will absorb moisture and cause more
humidity inside the box.
I promised you two DIY tips.
The first one is a counterweight solution to stop the bottom of your seamless paper
from curling when you hang it.
Savage sells a Background Leader Bar which retails for $75.00 and comes with a 107"
x 36 ft roll of white paper or they also sell a shorter version that is 4' 8" and comes
with a 53" roll of white seamless.
Manfrotto also sells a Background Paper Counterweight that is two pieces and works on 4 ft or 9
ft rolls - it retails for $32.95
My solution costs only $6.50 at your local Home Depot.
Just purchase a 10 ft by 1 1/4" pvc pipe and two 1 1/4" end caps.
Then cut off 8 inches so that you have a pipe that is 112" long.
This will create a little overhang on each side of the seamless.
Then using a table saw with the blade set very low - cut a line 109" long.
When I made my cuts I wiggled the pipe slightly so that the opening would be a bit wider that
the blade - this makes it easier to insert the paper.
Then all you need to do is place the end caps on and your build is complete.
You don't even need to glue the end caps and if you want to paint it - go for it.
To attach the counterweight - you first need to make sure that you have a clean edge at
the end of your seamless.
It is important to have the edge straight and square with the sides otherwise your counterweight
will hang crooked and cause the background to buckle.
If you are working with a brand new background - it already is square.
If you are cutting a worn or dirty end off of an existing seamless, I have a very simple
way to do it.
Hang the background and make sure you have it hanging level.
If you have ceiling mounts - that is easy.
If you are using stand mounts - use a bubble level to be sure the roll is level.
Then unravel the background just past the point where you wish to add the counterweight.
Take a Sharpie Marker and just run it along the underside of the roll all the way across.
Then go ahead and roll the background out far enough that your line is on the floor
or if you want, you can remove the background and place it on the floor.
Using a sharp blade - cut along the line that was just drawn with the Sharpie.
Fold back about one inch of seamless and press the fold down tight to make a clean stiff
edge.
Then simply slide that edge into the groove that you cut on the PVC pipe.
I use a few small pieces of gaffers tape to keep it in place as I go and then run a strip
of gaffers tape the entire length over the groove where the paper has been inserted.
Once you have done that - you are good to go.
Re-hang your background or roll it up and you have a counterweight that is level and
much less expensive than the machined metal options that are available online.
I also promised you an easy DIY Storage tip for your seamless backgrounds.
If you are going to keep your rolls out in the open - standing vertically of course - you
should have a room with low humidity as I already mentioned.
If you can't control the humidity and if you can't store your rolls vertically you
can purchase 4" pipes to store them in.
The common recommendation is 4" PVC pipes.
I personally think this is a horrible solution.
A 10ft length of 4" PVC pipe will cost you over $20.00 and that doesn't include the
end caps - not to mention that it weighs just over 20lbs.
A better alternative is to purchase a 10 ft by 4" length of corrugated drain pipe for
$7.21.
Purchase two 4" solid snap end caps for $2.52 each.
Then use a simple box cutter knife - cut off the bell end - it's the bigger end.
I measure my pipe to 109" and cut.
Slide your seamless roll into the plastic bag that it came with and then slide everything
into the pipe.
Add the snap caps on both ends and you have a durable airtight storage tube that only
cost you $12.25 Now you can stack the rolls or stand them up and you have a protected
and humidity free environment for your seamless.
Btw. - this solution weighs just 3lbs.
So there you have it gang - 10 important and helpful tips to make your seamless paper backgrounds
last and two DIY projects to save you money in the process.
I hope you found this useful.
Please hit that thumbs up and subscribe so that you don't miss any videos and until
next time go pick up that camera and shoot something because your BEST shot - it's
your NEXT shot, so keep learning, keep thinking, keep shooting.
Adios!

Wilfried Bony sings his own song as he re-joins Swansea from Manchester City - Duration: 3:22.Wilfried Bony sings his own song as he re-joins Swansea from Manchester City
WILFRIED BONY celebrated his Swansea return by singing a song dedicated to him by the clubs fans. The Ivory Coast hitman is heading back to South Wales in a £12million deal – two years after his £28m Manchester City switch.
Wilfried Bony is heading back to Swansea two years after leaving South Wales. Wilfred Bony sings his own Swansea chant as he heads back to Liberty Stadium from Manchester City.
And in an announcement video on the Swans Twitter account, Bony attempted to belt out the lyrics. His song - to the tune of Cum On Feel the Noize - goes: So come on Wilfried Bony, Score some goals for Swansea.
Well go wild wild wild, well go wild wild wild. So come on Wilfried Bony, Score some goals for Swansea.
Swansea netted £15m by selling Fernando Llorente to Tottenham and immediately swooped for their former sensation. Bony signed a two-year deal with the option of a third after completing his medical last night.
Wilfried Bony will hope to find top form again after a successful first spell.
Swansea have re-signed Wilfried Bony for £12m - this seems like a pleasing note to end on. Take it away, Wilf https://t.co/FSk3YFTbxR — Dream Team (@dreamteamfc) August 31, 2017 .
His return ends a miserable spell at City, which included a season-long loan at Stoke. On his former hunting ground, the powerhouse netted 34 goals in 70 appearances to earn his shot at the big time.
Bony ended a miserable two-year spell at Manchester City. Wilfried Bony grabs two goals for Stoke at home to Swansea.
City have been eager to offload Bony, and his £130,000-a-week wage packet, on a permanent basis for the majority of the summer. Bony refused to take a pay-cut with the Citizens, which resulted in the club slashing £1m off their valuation.

August 2017 Reading Wrap Up! - Duration: 18:29.Hey everybody! Welcome back to my channel. Today I'm going to be doing my August
reading wrap-up for you guys and I had another seventeen book month. So we're
just gonna hop right in and start talking about the books that I read this
past month. I'm gonna start with the books that I'm currently in the middle
of. I have two that I'm working on at the moment. The first of which is Winter by
Marissa Meyer. This is the fourth and final book in the Lunar Chronicles
series and I'm really enjoying it so far. I'm about 300 pages in out of 823 pages
and really enjoying it and hope to finish this in the month of September.
I'm also in the middle of a buddy read of It by Stephen King with Becky and
Michael. I am currently on chapter four. It's a really large book again. It's
about 1,100 pages. This copy's about 1,100 pages. It's long, but it's really
great. This is my first Stephen King and I'm really enjoying myself while reading it
and I'm happy that I'm reading it with two of my favorite bookish people. I will
leave a link to their channels down below so you guys can go and check them
out. I'm trying to figure out how I'd like to do this wrap up because I have
17 books that I want to get through. So I'm just gonna kind of wing it. Some of
these books I've already reviewed in my Reading Quest vlogs and I will reference
which reading quest vlog you can find the review in, but every other book in
this wrap-up I'm gonna try to get through fairly quickly. So I'm sorry if
these reviews aren't in-depth but I don't want this video to be a thousand
hours long. So I'm just gonna jump right in. The first books I want to talk about
are the Barefoot Gen graphic novel series. This is volume 1 and volume 2.
These are autobiographical graphic novels about the atomic bomb dropping on
Hiroshima. These are by Keiji Nakazawa who actually is a survivor of the atomic
bomb hitting Hiroshima and this is based on his life and his family's experience.
Vol 1 covers the kind of days leading up and months leading up to the atomic bomb
hitting and what it was like to live in wartime Japan and at the very end of
this book the atomic bomb is dropped and then in volume 2 you see kind of the
direct aftermath. Of course these are very hard to read.
They're very graphic. They are very sad but they are fantastic. They are so
informative. I feel like I learned so much while reading these and I gave them
both five stars. I talked a little bit more about this one cuz I read this
during The Reading Quest - the first week of The Reading Quest - so if you want to
go and check out that vlog you'll be able to see a little bit more of my
thoughts, but I thought these were fantastic. This is a ten part graphic
novel series so I still have eight volumes to go if I want to continue
reading all of them but I would definitely recommend if you're looking
to see kind of more of the citizen side of the atomic bombs being dropped on
Hiroshima. I guess I'll get into my buddy reads now. I had four planned buddy reads
that I completed in the month of August and I'll get into those now. The first
one I completed was Into the Water by Paula Hawkins. This was a buddy read with
Andie from It's a Reading Thing who I will link down below and this is about
women in a small English town who keep getting found dead in what they call the
drowning pool which is where they would back in like, the 1600s drown women who
are accused to be witches and so this follows the investigation of one, or two
really, women who are being found dead in this drowning pool. I feel like I have an
unpopular opinion about this book. I like this one less than The Girl on the Train.
I feel like Paula Hawkins - like, a lot of things in here were really convenient. There
were some twists that I was surprised by but not too many and most of the book
was pretty predictable for me. The strategy of a thriller to throw in like,
a thousand perspectives in order to confuse the reader I think is really
cheap and I don't - I don't like it. I feel like there are better ways to approach a
thriller and I feel like just throwing a bunch of perspectives in there kind of
is a cop-out in a way. So you do get a lot of perspectives in here so I was
frustrated by that, but I feel like overall, this is a pretty entertaining
read. Andie and I had a lot of fun reading it together which was fun, but overall I
gave this three stars and I would say The Girl in the Train is better, but I
think my opinion is unpopular in that department. Next up I had a buddy
read with Becky and we read Geekerella by Ashley Poston and I absolutely adored
this book. This is a geeky kind of loose modern-day retelling of Cinderella. So we
have two characters, it's told from two perspectives. It's told from Elle's
perspective and it's told from Darien's perspective. Elle is kind of our
"Cinderella" character. She lives with her stepmother and two stepsisters after her
father passes away. She's a big fan of this fictional kind of like Star Trek-y
show called Starfield and she's a blogger about Starfield and
she has quite a big following and she is kind of tracking the remake of Starfield.
And then our second perspective is Darien, who actually is the star of the
remake of Starfield. So eventually they find their way into each other's lives
and I just thought it was just the cutest, cutest romance and I really loved
it. There's actually a lot of like really great diversity in here and it's done in
a way that it integrates really well into the story.
I feel like Ashley Poston really integrated different sexualities and
different races really well as well as talking about issues like whitewashing
in Hollywood and like other diversity issues, but she does it in a way that it
just seems really natural and fits really well into the story and I think
she did a really great job with that and it seems like Ashley Poston like,
actually cares about diversity whereas when when an YA authors takes the
approach of more of like tokenism. Like kind of checking off like, "oh I have a
gay character and I have a character of color, and blah, blah, blah." She does it really
well and I really appreciated that. I love this book and this is totally a
book that I can reread and just revisit when I feel like I need a pick me up
and so I gave this five stars and I would highly recommend it.
I feel like a lot of people are reading it but it's not getting a ton of hype
which i think is a shame. I feel like this is a really wonderful YA
contemporary and I totally recommend people to check this out. The next buddy
read I had planned was The Way We Bared Our Souls by Willa Strayhorn. I buddy
read this with my friend Shannon and unfortunately we didn't really like
this one. I ended up giving this two stars and I believe Shannon did as well.
This is a book about five teenagers who are all living with some sort of burden.
We have a teenager that's living with MS. We have a teenager that is living with
grief because they lost their partner in a tragic car accident and just we have
like a couple of different characters who are suffering from different things
and they enter in this, I think it's supposed to be like a "Native American"
ceremony where they trade their burdens and then they have to live one week with
the burdens and I think it was a really interesting premise but I feel like it
was executed very poorly. This is a very short book. It's under 300 pages and that
does not give you enough time to get to know the characters, actually care about
the characters, and then kind of pack in the emotional impact of what something
like this would have on a person. It's really, really rushed. Like, the
introduction of every character takes about a hundred pages which makes sense
to me because you get to know them a little bit more but then the rest of the
plot is like, it's under 200 pages and I feel like there's so much that this
author could have done in order to make this a great book and it was really,
really unfortunate and I think if this book was a lot longer, Willa Strayhorn
could've done a lot more with this. So unfortunately I only gave it two stars.
It's a good idea in theory but just executed very poorly. And then my last
planned buddy read I actually read during The Reading Quest and you can find more
of my thoughts in the first week vlog of The Reading Quest, but we have Six of
Crows here by Leigh Bardugo. I buddy read this with Michael and I really, really
actually enjoyed this. This is the first book in the Six of Crows duology and I gave
it four stars and will definitely be continuing on with the duology. Again if
you'd like to hear more of my thoughts go check out my vlog for the first week
of The Reading Quest and you can see more of my thoughts there. Next up I
have a book that I have been working on since May and I finally finished it
early on this month and that is The DoG Stars by Peter Heller. I didn't really
like this book and I was pretty disappointed by it. It's about a man and
his dog and they are surviving after a big disease kind of
wipes out a bunch of the population. It's about his survival it's about his
relationship with his dog and like this one other guy who lives in a airplane
hangar with him and I thought I would like it. I like to read about
post-apocalyptic societies but this one... The writing style is really odd.
There's no quotation marks, there's no breaks that make sense, it's very kind of
confusing and hard to wrap your brain around and I just like, had a really
hard time getting through this book and I just - it wasn't an enjoyable reading
experience for me. And maybe I just didn't get it. Maybe I'm
just not smart enough to read a Peter Heller but I didn't really enjoy it and
so I gave this two stars. I read another graphic novel earlier this month and
that is Mooncop by Tom Gauld. It's already returned to the library but it
was really, really lovely and I just had such a great time reading it. Basically,
it's about this cop who lives on the moon and everybody who has populated the
moon has been making their way back to earth, so he's having less and less to
police and he's trying to get off the moon at some point because he's just
very lonely but then he makes a friend and it's actually really, really cute.
It's a really enjoyable read. I got through it in the matter of I think like
20 minutes. I kind of flipped through it in bed one morning and it was just like
a really enjoyable reading experience. So give it a shot if that sounds like
something that you're interested in. I thought it was really cute. There are two
audio books that I read on Audible this month. The first is The Unseen World by
Liz Moore and I really enjoyed this book. It's actually free for streaming on
Audible so if you don't feel like using a credit or buying the audiobook, you can
find it on audible under their collections and this book is about Ada.
She grows up with her father David and David eventually kind of succumbs to
Alzheimer's which is very unfortunate. As David falls deeper and deeper into
his Alzheimer's, Ada kind of figures out that he isn't necessarily who he says he
is and she goes on an investigation to try to find out who her father actually
is. I thought this book was extremely well-written. The narrator of this
audiobook was wonderful and she like, had me completely enthralled in the story
and I just really, really loved it. Liz Moore wrote
this book in a way that makes you care about Ada and David and it makes you
feel very protective of their father-daughter bond. When a writer can
make you feel that way about a character, I feel like that is just a sign of a
very successful writer and a very good book. So I gave this book four out of
five stars. It wasn't exactly what I was looking for in a book, but I still really
enjoyed it and would definitely recommend that you go and pick it up or
listen to it on audible. The next audiobook that I listened to on
audible this month was The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue. I kept hearing
that it was a wonderful audiobook and I would agree that it's a great audiobook.
I feel like if I didn't read this on audiobook I don't think I would have
enjoyed it at all. So this book is about Monty who goes on a tour of Europe with
his friend Percy and his sister Felicity and they are just kind of trying to tour
Europe and kind of have one last year of fun together before Monty has to
go over on his father's estate and Percy has to go to law school. However
something happens about a quarter of the way into this book that sends them on
this really giant adventure and it's not what they were expecting at all. I would
say that this book is pretty entertaining. However the way people are
talking about it makes it seem like it's the most entertaining YA novel of the
year and I disagree with that. There were parts of this book that definitely
dragged. There are parts of this book that I was just like "why is this
happening right now?" and I didn't totally love the main character Monty and it's
told from his perspective and if I don't like the main character and it's told in
the first person from that character it's really hard for me to connect with
the book when that happens. I did really love Felicity. I thought she was a really
great character and I loved Percy. He was the sweetest thing. But other than that I
didn't really care for this book that much and ultimately I gave it three
stars. It was pretty entertaining but it was it's kind of forgettable to be
honest. Next up I'm going to talk about my monthly goal reads. The first one of
my monthly goal reads that I finished was Colson Whitehead's The
Underground Railroad. This was my diverse pick for the month
of August. I loved this book and I gave it five stars. I talked about it a little
bit more on my 24 hour read-a-thon vlog which you can see down below. Go and
check that out if you want to hear more of my thoughts but just know I loved
this book I gave it 5 stars and would definitely recommend you pick it up.
Fair warning it is very graphic and very upsetting at times, but it's about
slavery so I feel like that's to be expected but I would totally recommend
this. This is a fantastic and very beautiful book. My next book was my TBR
jar pick and that was Little Women by Louisa May Alcott. I listened to the
majority of this on audiobook and I have to say I didn't really care for it that
much. I thought it was really boring. However I could totally see why children
would enjoy this book, especially children of this time period. It's just a
really interesting look into the lives of these four little girls who turn into
women and just kind of find their own definition of what it means to be a
woman. For the most part I found this really boring and I didn't really care
what happened which sounds really terrible but it's true and I ended up
giving this two stars. Sorry if I offended you and that's your favorite
book of all time but I didn't care about it that much. The next one I finished was
The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame. This was my classic pick for the
month of August and this was a book that I think I really liked as a child. I
think I remember like really, really enjoying it and it's kind of like your
typical like, "moral of the story" kind of thing for kids. It's just kind of a
collection of adventures that these animals go on. They all live in this like,
little community and our friends with one another but they all like, criticize
one another and each of the characters like, learns a lesson at the end of their
story. So it's just kind of like cute, really typical children's book and I can
see why I liked it so much as a child, Rereading it now I would give it 3 out
of 5 stars but definitely read this to your kids because it's something that I
feel like a kid would really, really like. And then the last goal pick that I had
for the month of August was my nonfiction and that was Mad Women by
Jane Maas and this is all about the women of the advertising industry in the
60s. Jane Maas worked in advertising at a
very typical "Mad Men"-esque agency. A few different agencies actually and she
talks about how the reality of working in advertising in the 60s, how it
compares to how it's depicted as in Mad Men. Being somebody who studied
advertising and being somebody who actually really enjoyed the show Mad Men
I really enjoyed this as well. There were parts that kind of dragged and that I
didn't really care about but for the most part I was really entertained by
this book and I feel like I learned a lot of what it was actually like to work
in the ad industry in the 60s. Overall I gave this three and a half out of five
stars and if you're interested in advertising I think you'd find this
really interesting as well. Also if you're interested in feminism and what
it was like to be a woman in the 60s and what like a typical woman would kind of
react to like the different kind of what we would see as injustice is now in 2017.
It's really, really interesting. Alright, three more books guys. Let's do this.
The last three books I all read during The Reading Quest so I'm going to whip
right through these and you can find more of my thoughts in the vlogs that I
completed these books in. The first of which is Fairest by Marissa Meyer. I read
this during my 24 hour read-a-thon. This is the novella between Cress and
Winter and this is Queen Levana's backstory and I really actually liked
this. I feel like a lot of people give it a lot of criticism but I enjoyed this
and I gave this four stars. I then read Throne of Glass by Sarah J
Maas. I unfortunately didn't really like this book at all. I was like kind of
entertained by it so I ended up giving it a 2 out of 5 stars but for the most
part I wouldn't recommend it. I know that isn't a very popular opinion on booktube
but I didn't really enjoy it. I read this during week two of The Reading Quest so
if you go and check out that vlog you'll see
my thoughts. And then I also read Release by Patrick Ness and I read this during
week three of The Reading Quest. The vlog for that will be coming out this
following week so stay tuned for my thoughts but I ended up actually really
enjoying this book. I really needed a contemporary and this was wonderful. This
is Patrick Ness's newest book and this is going to be coming out in the States
on the 17th of September I think. This is the UK edition so that's why I have it.
But I really enjoyed it and I gave it four and a half out of five stars. And
that is it! Those are all the books that I read in the month of August.
That's all 17. Aaaahh!
I hope you guys enjoyed this video. If you did, please leave a big
thumbs up. Subscribe if you haven't already. I do try to make a new video
each and every week and I will see you guys again very soon. Bye!

【東方花映塚】 Twice「発熱巫女〜ず」【Vietsub/Engsub】 - Duration: 5:32.Twice English translated by SHION
The warmth left in a single hand of mine
Over the footsteps silently getting farther and farther
It's like a new world reflected in a Earl Grey teardrop
And if I had to end up losing something
In exchange of all this time I've piled up
I'll let such eternity melt away in the night sky
Like thousands of radiant flowers
Tonight I'll let my small shoulders sway to this throbbing beat
As we trace up the crimson painted Moon with our joined fingertips
Just don't let this petal painted as the night sky wither away
Let me hear you voice until the stars will fall asleep
I unwillingly felt your distance from me
Over this world spilling out from my window –
Eternity itself doesn't have a shape or such
It's just like an invisible, astir gust
Tonight I'll let my small heart sway to this throbbing beat
It's just like an ephemeral glittering – a momentary bliss
Just don't wither away, stay as you are right now
Let me hear your voice until a light reflecting the night sky will bright up your eyes…
Spacetime gets passed over, time stops
The world never seems to stay still
But there's no meaning in it if you're not here
So I don't need anything, I need no stars, no sky, no Moon, no clouds: I need you smiling beside me
Tonight I'll let my small heart sway to this throbbing beat
It's just like this ephemeral glittering is being in full bloom
Tonight I'll let my small shoulders sway to this throbbing beat
As we trace up the crimson painted Moon with our joined fingertips
Just don't let this petal painted as the night sky wither away
Let me hear you voice until the stars will fall asleep…
Let me hear your voice…

Mike Starr explains why he left Alice in Chains - 1993 Interview with MTV Brazil - Duration: 0:46.1993 was the year that Alice in Chains came to Brazil.
And it was also the year that Mike Starr's star stopped shining.
At least as the bassist for Alice in Chains.
Yeah, I'm gonna take a break for a little while.
Why is that for?
I haven't had time to spend...
I haven't had enough time to spend with my family lately.
So, I feel like I need to spend some time with my family.
Layne took a break last year for a little while.
And I just feel like it's necessary for me to spend some time with my family.
I haven't been able to do that, and my dad's a little sick right now.
So I feel like I should do it right away.
