Dean Takahashi and the "Git Gud" Heard Round The World - Duration: 10:47.

So yeah, that one VentureBeat video with Dean Takahashi playing Cuphead.

Everyone is talking about it, so I guess I may as well too.

For those that don't know, a guy who isn't a game critic - but actually is if you decide

to do some research - decided to play Cuphead for 30 minutes and… well, I was gonna say

it was shit, but that can at least be used as fertilizer.

Now, some have pointed out that despite this guy being a games journalist for 18 years,

he's more into the tech behind games and not the actual playing of them.

Well, maybe he shouldn't have been given the controller then.

Maybe he shouldn't have made objective mistakes like saying it was made by the Super Meat

Boy boys.

Maybe he shouldn't have passed judgment on games like Mass Effect and Warhammer 40k

with his clearly flawed understanding and limited experience.If he's not a reviewer,

maybe he shouldn't title his articles "Reviews."

Also, if that really is the case, and he was only put on the spot because VentureBeat needed

someone to play the game and just anyone at all would do - then I guess VentureBeat is

just as much at fault as Dean is.

If he's really all about tech, then I guess all I can say is - it's a good thing Nintendo

didn't listen to his advice when he advised them to buy the Ouya.

But ya know, credit where credit is due, Dean did call out Microsoft in the past for trying

to pay off reviewers with free Xbox 360 consoles.

Anyway, I wanted to just voice some responses to … responses that I've seen on the net.

"you don't need to be mechanically proficient to provide review on whatever, otherwise only

pro-gamers should be the ones reviewing games."

I'm sorry, you don't need to be mechanically proficient?

You don't need to be able to understand the mechanics of a game to review it?

So do you not have to have ANY qualifications then?

I would think understanding a game on a mechanical level is THE MOST BASIC REQUIREMENT.

Mechanically proficient is not savant-level mastery, it's just having an understanding

of the skeleton, so to speak, of the game.

Would you trust a film review from someone who didn't know what cinematography means?

You don't have to be a star athlete to be a sports journalist, but you do need to understand

the rules of the game.

Being able to write a review is only part of the equation.

You wouldn't let a guy write a report on theoretical physics just because you liked

his work in Penthouse.

Also, semantics, but pro-gamers are the ones reviewing games.

Professional means you are getting paid.

Thus, anyone who reviews games for a living is by definition a pro gamer.

"This was not a review, so there's really no reason it should spark that debate again."

You're right, it's not a review.

It was a preview.

It was meant to give us a taste of what the full game was like.

This is going to leave a very sour taste in most folks' mouths.

If it was purely just a joke, then they should have had another video to complement this.

Like I said, suppose this guy is just a tech reviewer and it was like giving your mother

the controller and recording it.

Well, maybe the organization that's doling out the checks should have … given a shit?

Also - HE IS A REVIEWER.

He has plenty of reviews on VentureBeat.

Skill doesn't just deactivate when you aren't on the clock.

"Considering the sheer volume of games a reviewer has to crawl through, expertise at

any specific form of gaming isn't reasonable to expect of them."

Expertise?

Is basic reading and problem solving skills an expertise now?

It tells you how to jump, then it immediately tells you how to dash.

It shouldn't take nearly 2 minutes to figure out that the game wants you to combine these

skills.

Again, keep in mind, this guy is getting paid to do this - and has been getting paid to

do this for 18 years.

If he's supposed to be talking purely about the business or science behind gaming, then

don't put a controller in his hand and expect us to be satisfied with his output.

Don't have him tell us that Warhammer 40K is a Gears of War rip off or that Mass Effect

is too hard and expect us to let him continue spouting misinformation.

"I'm bad at shmups and 2D fighters.

I got Jamestown and Skullgirls because reviews said they were accessible to people who aren't

good at the genre yet.

That perspective is valid and valuable, even if it isn't to you."

You'd have to be well versed at 2D Fighters to know that Skullgirls is more accessible

than the likes of Street Fighter or King of Fighters.

You'd have to have played shmups like DoDonPachi and Mushihimesama to be able to understand

that Jamestown is much more lenient than them.

How can you definitively say that Game A is more accessible than Game B if you do not

understand both games on a mechanical level?

You can't.

Without that understanding, it's just an opinion with a basis on little more than a feeling.

Anyone can do a review.

God knows YouTube has plenty of yahoos who do them, and plenty of let's plays with a

shit ton of likes that aren't that good.

This is the stupidest response I've heard.

I really, really don't understand this line of thinking.

YouTube didn't hire those people.

They aren't being paid for the professional opinion.

This guy is.

There is not a bit of equivalence in this.

"Hey, it's okay that the doctor performed the surgery wrong, back alley doctors make

mistakes all the time!"

You are a professional.

You damn well better know what you are talking about.

When I can instantly think of a dozen amateurs who have more credentials than you, that's

not a good look.

The debate is ostensibly, "Should video game journalists be good at video games?"

but it's more like, "Is it OK to unleash all the firepower of an angry mob against

a video games journalist who is bad at a video game?"

The answer to both of these questions is: Yes.

What power do we as the general public - the ones you are supposed to be in service of

- have other than this?

Oh, but wait, let's look at Dean's response to the response.

I've watched the comments on this thread just to see how mean they would be.

I think it's useful to show my gameplay experience.

I did not intentionally play poorly to "troll" anyone.

But it serves as an interesting social experiment.

I walk into a game cold, and this is the play that results.

The video shows it's a notch more difficult than your typical Mario game.

That's a pretty poor excuse for your terrible gameplay.

I don't think anyone could glee anything from your video other than it was played by

a near-sighted drunk with an inner ear infection.

Demon's Souls was a lot of me dying my first time playing it, but I at least guarded, attacked,

dodge rolled, could move in a reasonable manner.

And that game had no tutorials.

We're not expecting you to speedrun the game, but we are expecting you to show basic

competency that any gamer of a year or two would have - how you managed to be in this

industry for two decades with this level of understanding of gaming is beyond me.

There are THOUSANDS of people who are dying to take your job.

He also points to Mario a lot in his response, saying that they should have done more to

differentiate it from Mario.

You do realize there's a lot more than just Mario when it comes to platformers, right?

In just the past five years, we've seen more new and returning big name platformers

since any time after the 90s.

How many games actually come with a tutorial these days?

A LOT.

They're not popular.

THEY ARE.

Games like Eat Lead, Saints Row and Far Cry have made fun of the ridiculousness of the

extremely commonplace forced tutorial in games, and Eat Lead came out in 2009.

It's been almost a decade.

Jesus, I'm old.

Making this statement makes it clear that you haven't actually played many games.

But if it's necessary, that is a signal this is going to require some skill.

It wouldn't require nearly as much skill if you'd actually READ.

The instructions are right there on the screen.

Now granted, some of the times that you failed were clearly cases where you knew the solution

(probably because someone straight up told you) but had execution errors, but those were

about 4 times.

You failed the jump more than 20 times.

I'm sorry, I can't feel sorry for you.

So when people tell me that I shouldn't be playing this game because, on my first

play, I was pretty lousy — that's an attitude that argues that games should be shut off

in their own little corner, only played publicly by the masters and the experts.

I disagree with that view entirely, and I believe it leads to elitist attitudes that

allow gamers to look down on other people, and that only leads to a more fragmented world

of haters.

And in a later article: That industry will grow bigger, and gamers

will get better games, if we embrace the new gamers.

We don't need to dumb games down.

We can have adjustable difficulty, so that the unskilled and skilled alike can play.

We can make tutorials even easier than the one that I failed at so miserably.

Some games have their entire identity built around their non-adjustable difficulty, from

games like Dark Souls to games like Super Mario Bros.

Would you really wish to strip away that identity, just to make yourself more comfortable?

Are games art, and as art should repel some who would experience it?

Or are games merely a product meant for mass consumption, that should be pleasant for everyone?

Games are not movies.

Games are not books.

They aren't music or TV.

They are games.

Think about some games.

Football.

Basketball.

Chess.

Why is it that no one bats an eye at these games requiring skill, but when it comes to

video games - oh, those have to have all the edges sanded down until it's nice and round

and anyone can win?

Have we really gotten to that point where everyone wants a participation trophy?

Everyone wants to win even if that victory is completely and utterly hollow?

As bad as you feel the "elitist attitudes" are, do you realize how entitled you are when

you call a game too difficult for failing to read instructions in a tutorial?

And you've seen the response, you are CLEARLY in the minority.

Even other members of the gaming press are calling you out for your incompetence.

Yet it's the elite gamers that are the problem, and the devs should break their back pleasing

you, NOT THEM.

It's the equivalent of complaining about Birdman being too difficult to understand

because you were expecting The Amazing Spider-Man.

I know a lot of people are trying to give Dean a pass for various reasons on this, but

look at this previous work.

Look at his review of Mass Effect, his review of Warhammer 40K Space Marine, his review

of Deus Ex Mankind Divided, his review of X-Com 2, heck even his coverage where he made

incorrect statements on objective facts like who developed Cuphead.

How can I trust anything he may have to say about his supposed field of expertise when

some much of the bullcrap that has could out of his mouth can be easily corrected with

a quick web search?

Dean has still shown himself to be WOEFULLY uninformed about gaming both here and in his

previous output.

Even with the gameplay completely thrown aside, he's gotten it wrong so many times in the

past, it truly is an inspiration.

He shows that all of us are able to get a job in the industry, as long as we know the

right people.

There's more important things than sinking Dean, though.

A lot of folks, especially within gaming journalism, are defending him despite his incompetence.

At best, this is them failing to do research on Dean and showing their own incompetence

when it comes to research.

At worst, this is them covering for Dean knowing fully the damage he does to this industry,

and likely a signal that they know they are just as incompetent and don't want the same

light shone on them.

Remember the names of those who would defend this fraud well.

If the only reason you are into gaming is for the cinematic experience that's about

on the level of a fanfic acted out by your local high school, then maybe gaming isn't

for you.

Maybe instead you should download Cody or Zack or whatever XBMC is calling itself today

and just download a movie.

I'd recommend The Room or The Last Vampire on Earth, as that's about on the same level

as what you are familiar with.

"But Mumkey!

It's expanding gaming for everybody!

Now everybody can be a gamer!"

Bullshit!

Just because you can cook spaghetti doesn't mean you are welcome to Flavor Town!

A game without gameplay is like a movie without a picture.

Possible?

Yes, technically, but you aren't taking advantage of the fullest extent of the medium.

I hate that so many people prefer to think that there's no such thing as artistry and

creativity within game mechanics themselves.

That's how we'll truly make games into art - by making art from the game, not the

story or the graphics or the music or any other aspect that can be replicated with more

control in any other medium.

I placed the housing on the Deus stem because it is more ergonomic.

I will turn it ON for the very first time (outside).

I assume, this is iron - I will crank up the DISC then.

This setting should be OK (DISC is still in the iron range).

what is going on my arrived rose welcome to a new let's play on the channel I

know I'm already doing a another let's play with Wade on the channel already

but I wanted to do a solo LP because I've been getting a lot of comments

saying that you guys really enjoyed the style of Let's Plays that I did

beforehand with the Pokemon blaze black randomizer nuzlocke so I decided hey why

not bring back a solo LP and do it in that type of style where I bring guests

on we start commentary we'd say whatever the hell is on our minds and we just

have a jolly ol good time and stuff I don't know how to do this stuff but

anyways here played Pokemon is it is a romhack developed by I think Japanese

developers or something they like packed into Pokemon firered and you made an

entire new game from scratch well not really from scratch but you know what it

and I think recently I'm not sure how recent but it was translated to English

and you know what I figured a I want to play a new game I wanna a Windows no

don't do that either way um and if you guys are wondering this isn't gonna be

affecting the blaze black or not the place I could start the so link at all

I'm still gonna be uploading that too it's not cancelled or anything it's just

that I wanted to do a solo LP to go alongside that because Wade and I are

only free at certain type certain times of the day and I for man I wish I

PC for potions so I guess we'll just do that first off the bat and we're gonna

withdraw some some potions because you know what we're experienced Pokemon

players I guess and know that there's some potions some nice potions in there

and the whole button thing I had problems with early I just fixed so

everything should be fine now we're gonna also adjust the text speed to fast

because we only live in the fast lane and yeah right so the running shoes you

use does pointless because the snow and stuff bro here take these running shoes

that'll help you run in the snow and then take this town map of the TOEIC

region which I guess is the name of the new region where wait I have a dad I'm a

dad he didn't leave me like all my other dads oh yeah we can also run inside door

or inside the houses up that's pretty much poor ciliate town is the name of

this place and honestly you can already tell by the music that was playing

earlier it was just sounds amazing can't wait to hear like some more of

this cuz I just love music I love game music I

love all kinds of music it really helps I guess improve the atmosphere of the

game but yeah either way we're gonna go ahead and skip through this part because

you know this is kind of boring but actually I'm gonna read this part

because it's important to the plot I guess I don't know in that case I like

see which one we were going to choose but first off we have NIM lief the it's

a very fast boat one so res if you want to go with the sprout Pokemon NIM Lee

I don't know man it looks pretty cool but let's take a look at the one in the

middle here quick will put is your choice it's a highly balanced Pokemon so

raizo have you decided to you choose that liquid dude I don't know man let's

take a look the last one fit gyro is your choice it's a firmly

defensive broken one so rise oh you're claiming the Gunpowder Pokemon pay arrow

well I don't know I honestly wanted to do a choose my starter video for this

but there was one Pokemon that really stuck out for me that I just had to pick

and I just wanted to use on this let's play and that is the liquid pokemon

liquor puts because this form right here the first form reminds me a lot of chaos

from Sonic Adventure you guys never want Sonic Adventure I'll put a picture up on

the screen and you guys have to play that cuz it's a really fun game it's a

good game I liked it I played it a lot as a kid on the Sega but you know what

if if you don't want to play then I don't you know what I don't really care

but I'm gonna do I'm gonna pick this guy

he also has a really sick final evolution so I'm gonna go ahead and pick

him and I'm gonna need him chaos because it's a cool name and it's a shout out to

something so you know what it's a double the power two birds one stone

because you know what we're just gonna do it and I'm excited to completely

found out what I had to do but in order to do that I have to actually battle

some people so I guess what we're gonna do now is capture our first Pokemon now

that we're fully healed and stuff which is nice so we're gonna go ahead and yeah

capture our first Pokemon so let's see what we get in here what's it up oh it's

that weird thing we saw in the movie blade gray child what go child

you know what I don't care get on my team

you scrub well you're not scrub you're gonna be it you're gonna be a nice and

powerful Pokemon after I'm done with you no you you frickin Frick frickin Frick

well you know what I'm gonna start training up I guess we're gonna battle

you sir and you have a lot of Pokemon but you know what it doesn't matter

so cannot do not do that uh I really wanna achieve these growls keep on

okay I'm gonna go ahead and heal up now I really hope that that doesn't come to

I don't like pine cones or pine cones hi cows and nuzlockes because they're so

there's like you don't know whether or not they're gonna explode even if

they're like level three or something it's scary okay I don't like either way

chaos is up to level nine we're just nice cuz you know what he's pretty he's

pretty nice guy he deserves to be up some levels even though he killed my

encounter you're frickin Frick well you know what it's okay because we still

have route 501 cuz I remember that you know what actually I wanna sleep we're

at a high enough level to just battle as if people were supposed to but you know

what I heard this is a pretty tough game so I'm going I'm gonna actually say

these people for when I actually but quick question question of the day

for you guys I want to know because in order to edit in the style that I really

want to I want to be able to cut off some of the battles and it'll be a lot

different from how normal Pokemon Let's Plays go I'm gonna try it out for one

episode but if you guys are if you guys are interested in seeing these the new

style of editing I'm trying to do which is just to cut out some of the

unnecessary crap like running into a wild Pokemon or well maybe not that but

like doing battles like non important battles and just like cutting them out

or just showing some funny parts of it I don't know let me know in the comment

section I because you know that's just something I'm trying to do but either

way we're out with 5:01 I'm pretty sure let me check 5:01 yeah yeah it's a new

nickname I'm this the first word that comes to my head is Furby so I'm gonna

call you a Furby Furby I don't even know how to spell it but you know what we're

just gonna spell like that you're now Furby get on my team and I'm too lazy to

run to the Pokemon Center so we're just gonna keel up right here but actually

honestly I think we might be a little short on time right now so I don't know

I might just level up my Pokemon off screen to a level that it satisfies me

and then I'll meet back with you guys in the next episode so hope you guys

DIY Rustic Mirror - Rust-Oleum Mirror Effect Review - Bathroom Makeover - Duration: 4:11.

So this DIY could go super wrong, or it could work really good. Either way,

wish me luck! So I initially meant to make a much bigger mirror, but I couldn't

find glass in the size that I wanted. So I ended up having to scale it down from

a 40X47 inches to a 30X36 inch mirror. Once everything was sized

properly I just put the glass right on top, just to make sure that it was gonna

fit and allow enough room around the frame. Then I grabbed a can of Rust-Oleum

Mirror Effect spray paint. I ended up applying about 10 coats of this which is

about a can and a half of spray paint. I also lined the inner edges of the

glass with painters tape, to make sure that none of it got on the other side of

the glass. While the glass was drying I started working on the frame. So I

started off with sanding down the wood and staining it. Then I also got

these corner braces from Home Depot. There was four braces in a pack with a

couple of screws, and I primed them first and then I spray painted them copper.

Once the braces were nice and dry all I had to do was screw them into the

corners of the frames to attach the planks of wood together. I kind of wish I

got bigger braces, but that's alright these work just fine.

Once the glass was nice and dry, all I had to do was attach it to the frame and

I did that using these plastic mirror clips. Now for the moment of truth dun

da da dun! I was actually kind of surprised that this kind of worked. I

really didn't think it was gonna come out this good. Finally I use this mirror

and picture hanger to hang the mirror onto the wall. So this is what it looks

like. It didn't come up as good as I thought it would. It looks like, I

don't know if you can pick it up, but it looks like it's dirty. It looks like the

mirror is dirty almost, but that's the spray paint. Like you see this little

thing right here. The camera makes it look better than it actually is,

but it looks like some kind of dirty antique mirror, so I don't think I'm

gonna leave it like that.

I just couldn't get past how dirty and old the spray-paint made the mirror look,

so I ended up taking it out. The only reason that I even tried the spray-paint

is because I couldn't find a mirror in the initial measurements that I wanted.

So I wouldn't recommend the spray-paint for big projects, but maybe for something

smaller. So I ended up going back to Home Depot, and luckily this time they had a

mirror in this size that I needed so, I just grabbed that and attached it to the

frame.

Oh and by the way, don't screw in those clips too tight or this will happen. So

finally after free-balling this entire DIY, this is the final look. I'm super

happy with how it came out! It makes the room feel so much bigger and it makes the

room so much brighter. I'm totally in love with it!

Hi guys welcome back to my channel. I feel like I haven't sat down to make

a video in such a long time.

The past week it's been so hot and just the

thought of putting on makeup and having to sit in front of a camera in front of

my window it doesn't sound like a good idea.

Today I'm gonna be doing the get to know me tag.

know me tag. I've been on YouTube for around three weeks or so now and I

thought that this would be a good way for you to get to know me

Let's get

started so my first question is what is your name? My name is Claudia and my

middle name is Lizet hence my YouTube name Claudia Lizet

the American Way is Claudia Lizet. I don't know I mean whichever is easier

for you to say. My second question if you were another person would you be friends

with yourself? Definitely yes, I think I'm a very fun person I can make people

laugh, I'm very caring. I think I would

definitely be friends with myself if I were someone else.

I do think, and I have gotten this, that I look a little unapproachable

and I think the reason for that is that I'm not always smiling or laughing or

goofing off. It kind of takes a lot for me to feel comfortable enough to be

myself around that person so all in all I would definitely be friends with myself.

Number three what is the first thing you notice about other people? A lot of

people make fun of me for this but I think the first thing I noticed on

someone else is always their teeth and I guess with that their smile. If they

have nice teeth and like a nice smile I just I don't know I really like that. I

feel like it's kind of weird but I think it really tells you a lot of whether or

not someone is approachable. Number four where were you born? I was born in

California. What is your age? I am 22 years old.

Do you use sarcasm a lot? Yes I do use sarcasm

a lot. I don't really use it in like a malicious way I think I mostly use it

around my friends because they know me and they know my sense of humor but

yeah a short answer yes I used sarcasm a lot. What was your

favorite or worst subject in high school? I think math was both my favorite

and my worst. I'm not gonna say that math is my strength but I think I did enjoy

it because I enjoyed having the teacher who was teaching me the subject. It was

kind of a love-hate relationship with math I started off kind of weak in math

and I was placed in the highest track I struggled understanding the concept

because of the teacher but once I had you know the right teacher giving me the

right amount of attention that I needed I loved it so I don't know.

Oh gosh

I have you guys propped up on a table now instead of on the floor because my whole

setup is different if you didn't notice. Are you in or have you gone to college?

Yes, I just graduated from college in June and I am actually starting grad

school in two weeks yeah so yeah I went to college. I majored in Liberal Studies

Pre-Teaching. Do you speak any different languages and how well? I have native

fluency in Spanish. What is your favorite color? My favorite color is

definitely pink within the pink category baby pink is my favorite. What

is your favorite perfume? Michael Kors Radiant Rose Gold or something like that.

That's been my favorite for about a year or so. What is your star sign? My star

sign is Aquarius. Do you have any tattoos? my parents are gonna be mad ..

happy that I

don't have any tattoos. No tattoos are a no for me, they are a very permanent

thing I feel like I have a little bit of commitment

issues when it comes to that I just wouldn't want to get anything on my body

that I know will be there forever. So no tattoos for me, not right now,

probably not anytime soon. Probably no time in the future so yeah no tattoos. Do

I have any piercings? Yes, I have quite a few piercings actually. Apart from one

all of them are on my earlobes. I have three on this ear three to match the

other three I have my cartilage my tragus and apart from that I have my

septum. My most recent piercing was my cartilage and I actually got it done

with a gun which was a really bad idea because it hurt so much and I don't

think it's 100% healed and probably in the future I might get it taken out and

pierced with a needle like I did with my tragus. My septum I didn't wear it in

my first few videos but I started wearing it again and I've had this

one for about two years so it is not new if you were wondering. Do you wear any

type of jewelry 24/7? Apart from my tragus cartilage and my septum i wear

this necklace pretty much every day my parents got it for me as a graduation

gift. My favorite food? I really enjoy In-N-Out: Animal fries

and a Grilled Cheese. My favorite drink? My favorite drink I think would have to

be an iced chai with light ice if I'm at Starbucks. Favorite snack? Anything junk

food as in like chips and stuff I love. What are some of your favorite TV shows?

oh okay I am a TV show person so I've watched a

lot of TV shows I have a lot of favorite TV shows I just finished both Black

Mirror and Stranger Things in like the last week or so. They're really good

they're both on Netflix they're Netflix originals so definitely check those out

and if you speak any other language like Spanish and French and stuff they do

have audio and subtitles for that so I think that's

amazing. I am a big fan of Jane the Virgin, oh I

just watched the first episode of American Horror Story I'm definitely an

American Horror Story fan. My favorite sport? um I don't do sports. What is my

favorite movie? I think my favorite movie would have to be Pretty In Pink I'm very

into you know the 80s, Hocus-Pocus also one of my favorite movies. What's your

favorite song right now

I think that one of my favorite songs at the moment I

do have a lot of favorite songs and I have a story behind that but my channel

is very PG and I'm not sure if I want to incorporate you know my stories yet

next question who are some of your favorite YouTubers ooh okay so my

favorite YouTubers is Nikki Glamour for sure I love her I love her story times

her personality is just very relatable really like HeyParis her story times

are really great as well I really like OKBaby in terms of vloggers do you

have siblings yes I have two younger brothers one is 4 years old and the

other is 13 are you competitive umyes I think so but I'm not like obnoxious

competitive you know I think that a little competition in life is good

because it keeps you motivated in terms of competitive for me is can I do better

than I've already done you know can I beat myself so I think I hope that

answers it describe yourself in a single sentence I'll describe myself in one

word ICONIC how would you describe your fashion sense I have a very diverse

wardrobe and I think overall if somebody were to say something about my style

that probably would pop up is bohemian what are some of your bad habits junk

food oh I love junk food I can't live without it another bad habit I trust

people way too quickly um and that's not good because it's gotten me into some

pretty bad situations like I said I probably I don't want to start doing

story times I just need to be very careful of what I say and how I say it

you know what are your favorite things about yourself um everything

I'm iconic what is your biggest accomplishment I think that my biggest

accomplishment is definitely graduating from college not because I didn't think

that I would be able to do it it's just something that has always been highly

emphasized for me I am a first-generation student so that means that

I was the first one in my family to go to college and that's something that's

really important to me and that's something that that is part of my

identity so I think that's definitely been one of my biggest accomplishments

along with that even having the opportunity to go to graduate school and

fulfill my masters in education yeah I think that's a huge accomplishment what

is an ideal first date for you I think an ideal first date

well what I don't like is like going to the movies you don't even get to talk to

the person unless you're doing like dinner after or something you don't get

to talk to the person because you go in and you watch the movie you leave like

that's kind of it for me my ideal date is going just to get ice cream or boba

or stuff like that and then getting to talk to them and get to know them

figuring out if they're really somebody that you want to invest time into what

is something you look for in a partner okay these questions are very random I'm

not gonna answer that just because why what is the last book you read I read

Everything Everything it was amazing the movie was so relaxing just the

soundtrack was amazing it it felt like you were in a dream it was great you

guys should definitely watch the movie definitely read the book first though

what is your favorite fairy tale but when I was younger my favorite

definitely used to be Sleeping Beauty a favorite quote is definitely "how lucky I

am to have something that makes things that buy so hard" and this quote I feel

like I'm gonna cry it just means so much to me it was a quote that actually the

same math teacher that I was talking about who was very understanding and

very supportive um she actually first ever introduced me to that quote when I

was graduating high school it was a very emotional time you know in high school I

went to a small little private school and my hand was being held throughout

the whole time they helped me apply to colleges they

helped me with my FAFSA they helped me would so many things and just thinking

of leaving that and going into college where my hand wasn't gonna be held

every single day it was a very emotional emotional thing for me and I had grown

so attached to this particular teacher because she was very understanding and

very supportive of my education and it was just very hard for me to accept the

fact that I needed to move on so one day she printed it out for me she gave it to

me and told me to carry it around with me and you know until this day I really

value it and I do think you know I am very very lucky to have met such

wonderful people throughout my life that make the next step in my life so hard to

continue with but I know that I will continue to encounter amazing people

throughout the way so yeah that's my little spiel on that do you have a best

friend if so who I don't really think I have

one I think for me the friends that I do

have they're family to me you know and that includes my sorority sisters and a

few other people within you know my very close circle I don't think I have one

best friend I have a family and I know that they're always gonna be there

for me so yeah you know I've had best friends in the past who just are not

even in my life anymore so I don't really like to consider people my best

friends because they're family so um definitely for sure you guys have

seen her and two of my videos at least Diana she is probably one of the people

that I am the closest to but she's not my best friend she's my sister you know

so yeah that's my other emotional little spiel who has left the most impact

on your life what is up with these emotional questions I think a lot of

people have left a big impact in my life whether it's positive or negative I've

grown from all of the experiences that I've had in my 22 years of life I think

for sure my grandparents have made some of the

biggest impact in particular my maternal grandfather he always believed in me and

he always believed that I would reach my goal and my dreams of being a teacher

and you know here I am about to enter grad school in two weeks

to fulfill my masters in education and get my credential and you know he's

definitely made an impact in me definitely my parents my sorority

sisters who really have made an impact in my life what app do you use the most

my favorite app or the app that I use the most is definitely Instagram um I'm

nosy and I like to see what people are doing I really like snapchat before I

started my youtube channel um I did like little story times on my snapchat and

rants and stuff what piece of technology can you not live without my phone and my

laptop internet best memory you have I have so

many good memories maybe I'll insert some photos around

here you guys can see so my best memories

let me sip on this tea while you guys look at those

last question if you could give your younger self any advice what would it be if I could give

any advice to my younger self I think it would be to just keep doing what you're

doing and everything happens for a reason

and you're gonna make it it may seem like it's not possible in the moment but

you will get through it and everything works out for a reason do you see how

emotional I'm getting you know it's okay to be scared and it's okay to be

vulnerable and it's okay to feel all of those emotions because at the end

everything works out for a reason and you just have to believe in yourself I

think that's definitely the biggest advice I can give to myself okay guys so

Hi guys!! And there's a plane outside...because there has to always be noise when i'm recording

If you dont know what a Emergency kit is, because i didn't knew either

but is mostly a little bag that you put all the stuff you think may come on handy

stuff day you may need for your everyday routine

i've always had that when i was in school, on my job,

i just didn't knew that was called a emergency kit

Its hot here, it's hot here, its very hot, but yea lets do this

i'm wearing no pants, i'm always wearing no pants when i am recording,

and here's the reason since some people already asked why, i have here a LOT of lights on

and the windows closed so that

to avoid the noise outside,

so yea, i have the windows closed to avoid the noise from outside,

i have a lot of lights on, it gets really hot in here, so i'm only wearing a top

H5P Tutorials: Embedded H5P content doesn't show - Duration: 4:40.

Hey everybody! This is Oliver and you are watching another video about H5P. Today

I want to help you if you try to embed H5P content in your website but it

simply won't show. And there actually may be multiple reasons for that, but I'm

going to address the most common one, I guess. And it's called mixed content. So

first let's have a look at how it is supposed to work.

Okay, so let us assume that you want to use this content over here and of course

you could download it and upload it to your system, but let's say that's not

possible. So the other option that we have is:

We can click on embed and we see a snippet of code and we can copy it. And if we've

done that we can head over to our website. This is mine and you may notice

that this is a WordPress system. But it really doesn't matter, you can use

whatever you like as long as you can embed some HTML code. And in WordPress

you would click on "Text" and then you simply paste the snippet that we copied

before and then we can have a look ... and it works, which is great. And now we head

over to a different website. Let's jump over there and as you can see it also

contains some H5P content that we might want to use. So let's also grab this code

snippet and then head back over to the other website. There we are, and now let's

also try this one here just below ... and it doesn't show. Just the white area. So

what's the reason? The reason is called mixed content as I said before and, well,

what is mixed content? And to answer that question let's go back to the code. There

it is. And now you can see there's a little

difference over here. Here we have HTTPS and down here we have HTTP and that's

actually the problem. The "s" indicates that the connection over here

is secured so all the data that's transferred can't be read or modified by

someone else, and down here it could. That's not the mixed part, the mixed part comes

in here. So, if we look at the URL of my website, it also has HTTPS in front, so

what are we're trying to do? We have the secure content and down here we try to

include some insecure content and browsers don't like that, because, what's

the problem? So, maybe someone typed in HTTPS and thinks he's on a secure

website and maybe he wants to type in his credit card number, which I'd say is

sensitive information, and, um, if there's insecure content, then this

credit card number might go who knows where. So, that's problem. That's why

browsers don't like that. And well, what can you actually do? We could try to add

an "s" manually over here, but let me tell you in most cases this won't work

because the server would have forwarded you anyway

to a secure line. And yeah. Looks a little different, but it doesn't work as well.

And okay, there is some stuff called "proxy" that you could create, but that's

really tricky and I don't, well yeah overburden you if that's not really necessary. And

the other thing you could and should do if it's your server you're trying to embed

something from, um, just update it to SSL. So, teach the server, your Apache or nginx

or whatever you're using, to speak SSL, um, so that it can handle the

HTTPS protocol, well basically that's double ... It's the, it's Secure Hypertext Transfer Protocol. That's the

correct one. And it's not that difficult. I'll put some links in the description.

There's a service called "Let's Encrypt" which is pretty simple and free, and

maybe you want to use it, so it's not a problem of H5P but a general internet
