Youtube daily report w Sep 15 2017

Hey there.

Last time I talked about the humanitarian disaster going on in Yemen, and how shameful

it is that the United States is supporting it.

I pointed out that in some ways what's happening in Yemen is worse than what has been happening

in Syria.

But in one way it's better, at least from the US perspective.

I think The United States bears the primary responsibility for the Syrian Civil War.

Yemen's Disaster is not entirely our fault.

Yemen was screwed long before the United States got to the region.

Afghanistan has a reputation as the Graveyard of Empires, but I think Yemen has just as

good a claim to the title.

Yemen's super strategic location at the center of world trade routes has sucked in

empire after empire, from the Ottomans to the British to about 1000 years worth of Egyptians.

Yemen managed to give the Ottoman Empire some of its worst defeats in two very different

historical eras.

From 1538 to 1634 Yemen ate up tens of thousands of Ottoman soldiers.

I've heard Yemen characterized as the Ottoman Vietnam.

The Ottomans were kicked out the first time by Zaydi Shias that ended up ruling parts

of the country from the late 1500s up until 1962.

Sometimes the Zaydi Shia ruling class was up, We're Selling A Ton Of Coffee!

Should we invade Mecca Again?

Sometimes they were down, Dammit the Ottomans are Back!

But they remain a dominant factor in Yemen today.

It was British adventuring in Yemen in the 19th century that convinced the Ottomans they

had to come back.

And that's where we can find the root of a lot of Yemen's problems.

Or maybe 25% of their problems.

Yemen has a lot of problems.

In 1839 the British took the Southern port of Aden, which convinced the Ottomans to come

back in the North in 1849 to block the British.

For the next 150 years or so, up until the 1990s Northern and Southern Yemen developed

along very different paths.

The Ottomans spent another 70 years fighting to hold the North, allying with and battling

different tribes along the way.

They finally gave up entirely in 1918 after losing World War One.

The Zaydi Imams were there to pick up the pieces.

They fought a good game of thrones against the Hashemites and Sauds in those amorphous

years between the World Wars, but they ended up losing pretty badly.

And that is Yemen's principle misfortune,Since World War II, and the launch of the Saudi

oil industry, the forces playing with Yemen have no longer been a sea or a continent away,

they've been right next door.

Having international empires fight over your country sucks.

Having more local powers fight can be worse.

South Yemen spent over a century as a british colony.

When the British finally gave up in 1967, the folks who kicked them out set up South

Yemen, a Communist country that lasted For almost a quarter century.

North Yemen functioned as an independent Kingdom from 1918 to 1962, when it fell victim to

the clash of two of those local powers, Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

The last Zaydi Shia king was kicked out in a coup, starting an eight year civil war in

North Yemen that killed somewhere between 100 and 200 thousand people.

In the 1950's and 1960's the main clash in the Middle East was between Arab nationalists

with the support of the Soviet Union, and more old fashioned powers supported by the

United States.

Egypt's charismatic leader, Gamal Abdel Nasser was the face of Arab Nationalism.

Yemen was where the dream of Arab Nationalism died.

Nasser's Egypt sent 70,000 soldiers to support the Yemen's Military Coup.

Saudi Arabia, ironically, armed and supported the forces loyal to the last Zaydi Shia Imam.

This conflict has eerie parallels to today.

Egypt exerted itself to an extraordinary extent, spending money and soldiers that it really

couldn't spare.

Saudi Arabia mostly just sent money and arms to support the Zaydi Shias and other tribes

who were much stronger on the ground.

Today Saudi Arabia is spending an extraordinary amount of money and diminishing political

capital to fight Zaydi Shias rather than support them.

The extent to which Iran is supporting those Zaydi Shias isn't fully known, but most

agree that the war costs Iran a tiny fraction of what it costs Saudi Arabia.

In the end the Egyptian side kind of won, but it killed Egypt as a regional player.

The distraction of the war in Yemen guaranteed that Nasser lost the Six Day War with Israel

in 1967 destroying Egypt's credibility.

The last Yemeni king did leave the country, but the New Yemeni Arab Republic in the North

quickly became a Saudi Client.

The competition between empires and more local powers has been terrible for Yemen.

It's meant a lot of war, but even in times of peace, all this competition has kept the

country from functioning.

Different tribes and factions within the country are armed and supported by different outside

powers.

No Modern Yemeni government has really been able to set up a state.

The country has always been more of a negotiation between armed power blocs than a nation.

For the past half century, Saudi Arabia has made sure that no government emerges that

can truly challenge it.

Yemen's disaster hasn't been entirely the United States Fault.

But we're not blameless either.

Saudi Arabia is a US colony after all.

Next Time we'll look at the the sad story of North and South Yemen, and the Supremely

Machiavellian guy who made it look like the country was governable, at least for a while.

Today's disaster makes it clear that Ali Abdullah Saleh's Yemen was always an illusion.

Butterflies and Ladybugs Cake Pops (ENG SUBS) - Duration: 10:59.

White compound chocolate or candy melts

Cake Pop Sticks / Lollipop sticks

Prepare some little cake pop balls and take them to the fridge for 15 minutes.

For the cake pops recipe I left the link at the top right and in the description below.

Once the sticks are stuck in the balls of dough, take them to the fridge for another 10 minutes.

Non-stick baking paper

Press down a bit to create a base.

Nonpareils / tiny sugar pearls or beads

Before the chocolate sets dip the cake pop into the nonpareils / beads.

I found more easy to first putting the nonpareils on top and then dipping the cake pop.

The plain cake pops need 2 layers of chocolate. Apply the second coat after the first one is set.

You can leave it like this to set or you can take them into the fridge again. For 10 minutes.

Pink fondant

White fondant

2 little balls of red fondant and 2 black.

If you have black nonpareils you can put them instead of making them.

White nonpareils

With a toothpick make holes for the black dots.

Edible color marker

Use the compound chocolate to stick the decorations into place. I already had yellow but that's okay, because you won't see it.

Baking cups

Fabric ribbon

Thank you for watching.

Getting to Know President Elect James E. Ryan - Duration: 4:51.

I'm enormously grateful to have the opportunity to give back and to serve

this institution. This is a place that has given me and my family an awful lot

I was a law student, I had my first teaching job at UVA and was on the

faculty for 15 years. It's where my wife Katie and I met in

law school and it's where we raised our four kids and I have a lot to learn and

I look forward to talking with and meeting people from all across the

University. I think in order to lead and not just manage an institution of this

complexity people need to understand why it is they're doing something. They need

to understand and need to believe in the goals that the institution is

trying to achieve. I was a first-generation college student I know

from personal experience that higher education transforms lives. It opened up

doors for me that I never even knew existed and one of the most important

things it did for me was expose me to ideas and people I had never come across

growing up in a small town in New Jersey. These really should be places of

opportunity. I think it's one of the highest responsibilities of a university

to ensure that it has a diverse and vibrant group of students and faculty.

I think there are a few things that make UVA special, obviously the history of UVA

is unmatched I think it continues to have a distinctive if not unique culture

and that's not only what makes UVA special in the world of higher education

but it's what makes it special to me. It's a place where students and

faculty are engaged, where they explore ideas and take ideas seriously, but it's

also a place where disagreements are handled civilly. It's a place where

people are kind to one another it's a place where people care about one

another. That sense of shared enterprise that everyone is there to learn, to

progress, and to give back. I loved raising our family there. Our kids were and remain

enormous UVA sports fans. If you ask me what I'm looking forward to most about

returning I would probably say Bodo's first, UVA sports second, depending on the

day and depending on the game. I think that universities have always been

propelled by students. Students at universities today I think are

remarkable they are engaged they're inquisitive they're creative they're

active and I think they are actually a force for positive change at

universities. They are less bound by traditional disciplines and more and

more are pushing universities to become better and I think that's as true today

as it ever has been.

I watched the events of August eleventh and twelfth unfold online and like many

I was heartbroken and horrified by the invasion of white supremacists, neo-Nazis,

the Klan, and sickened by the violent display of hatred that turned deadly.

Watching these horrific events unfold I thought of a speech that Harvard's

president Drew Faust gave after the Marathon bombing in Boston and the theme

of the speech was "run toward" and she talked about how first responders and

spectators ran to help those who were in need and while I was watching this event

and thinking about this job I kept thinking, run toward.

I spent a fair bit of time thinking about the topic of grace and I gave a

graduation speech about it. That single word encompasses a remarkable and unique

constellation of concepts so it encompasses humility it encompasses

courage it encompasses gratitude and it encompasses forgiveness and the message

I tried to deliver to the students was the idea of leading with grace that is

leading with those qualities in the forefront of your mind.

I was adopted as a kid and my father used to always tell me, "I don't know what

to expect from you, but what I will expect is that you always try your best."

And I know that sounds really simple but that lesson has lived with me ever since.

I've passed it on to my own kids and whenever I approach something new that's

the only thing I'm trying to do. I can't control the results always, but I can

control my own effort. And I'll be motivated every day by a single goal of

making the University the best place it can be.

A September Sunday Vlog - Vlog di una domenica di Settembre - Duration: 18:26.

>> Goodmorning giugizers and welcome back, long time no see

it's been a few weeks since the last vlog

today I decided to

film my day, it's sunday and this goodlooking man and I

are heading to ...how is it called?

Festa del Pelaverga, I love how I'm always prepared

anyway to the Festa del Pelaverga in Verduno

in the Langhe, a lovely place with an amazing view over the hills

and so there will be wine and food

and so it's probably a day worth documenting.

In the meantime, as we're leaving, I'm looking for my sunglasses

here they are

it's always a mess in our house

and today I'll wear my fancy sunglasses, but now let's go!

We're here!

Can we talk about this view? Can we? Because I think we should!

Anyway as you just saw we met some friends and now we'll chill with them

That's it and in the meantime...

We're leaving Verduno, filled with wine

by the way in case you were wondering Pelaverga is the name of the wine made here in Verduno

now let's see if I can fit in this tiny car

it's like trying to fit a whale into an anchovies tin

I did it!

We're back at home, you probably guessed it by the background

we're filled with wine, we didn't eat much, but it has been

a lovely day so far

and we had this weird idea

we love weird ideas

to make a milkshake/smoothie using some icrecream that we bought on the way home

and some melon that we had in the fridge

that's the plan, am I right? Yes, we'll have a try

we have no idea how it will turn out, it could be yummy

or it could be a disaster,

we'll find out, Dani is already cutting the melon!

Step one of this improvised tutorial

is cutting the melon and chopping a finger off at the same time

step two is to smell the melon

melon that comes from Dani's father vegetable garden

in the meantime we've got blankets on the stove

with inside??? The pizza dough

Yep, the pizza dough that Dani prepared yesterday and that we'll eat tonight

Ok, the melon is done

I'll cut into tiny pieces now

then I think we will mix the melon and the icecream

into the blender and we'll mix them together and that should be it

maybe we'll add some ice...let's see

here we have the vanilla icecream

are you the queen official taster?

and down it goes!

we are ready, it's the moment of truth, go!

I think this is not the right tool

second try

after trying to push the mix down with a spoon nothing changed

now Dani is using the spoon with the blender on, this is a recipe for disaster

I don't think this is a good idea

and now we need to taste it

cheers!

let me see you reaction first

it's good, it's good!

let me taste it...

it's really good!

yep, it's good

without too many words, it's simply good

it's actually really good

Goodevening my friends

you join me while I'm happily riding my bike

as we decided to go on a ride at sunset

that's so romantic..great now I have my panties all out

Fall is upon us

the leaves are falling

and we almost got runned over by a car

we're back

after the bike ride and we are making pizza

now I'll let the cook talk, so he'll explain what the heck he is doing

what are you doing?

I'm grilling some vegetables

you're on grill duty!

then I'll grill an eggplant too

let me see...it's there, still to be cut

I sliced some tomatoes

let me see them

what are they for?

I have some anchovies there

and this will be the pizza topping

The work is still in progress, we have a pizza in the oven

it looks delicious

and here we have another one

what else?

then we have the grilled vegetables

the veggies are ready and the tomatoes too, what are you doing now?

some seasoning for the pizza

anchovies and a seasoning ...

it's time to add the toppings

while the first pizza is baking

I realized I never introduced you to my new friend

Babette the cyclette

as I told you in my late summer/early fall haul that I uploaded last week

I started to excercize, thus Babette

next to her we have Van the fan, we're full of new friends

so many that we'll have to move somewhere bigger very soon

but Babette is changing my life because I'm more active and I feel healthier so

thank you Babette, you're aesthetically awfull, but you blend in with our mess

and over there you may recognize my filming back ground

what are you doing there? Hiding in the shadow?

Now we'll wait for the pizza to cook

and while we eat the first one we bake the second one, am I right?

and then we'll die because we ate 2 huge pizza pans

we better save some for tomorrow

Anyway I hope you are enjoying this random vlog, full of nonsense

I felt like doing something different

let me know in the comments if you like the idea of me filming some random vlogs like this one from time to time

where nothing exceptional happens

as until today I always filmed vlogs

while I was travelling so that I had interesting things to show

while today's vlog is a bit unusual

so let me know if you may like to see more of my everyday life, it's not that interesting but

for example we are now going to have dinner on the couch while watching TV

is there anything better? Pizza, beer, couch and TV, a perfect sunday evening

we ate a ton of pizza

our sunday is basically over

because after eating so much pizza the only thing I can do

is putting on comfy clothes on, removing my make up and laying on the couch and call it a day

so...

have you got something to add?

do you want some ice cream?

Oh gosh we have ice cream...

I'm going to die filled with pizza and ice cream

thankfully I have Babette the cyclette, I'll spend the rest of the night cycling

anyway my lovely and dear friends

I would end this unsual, weird vlog here

a vlog of its own kind

a silly vlog indeed

if you liked this silly weird vlog don't forget to give it a thumbs up so that I will know it

Let me know if you may enjoy some random vlogs like this from time to time as I may film some more

also if you haven't yet subscribe to this channel in order not to miss any new video

That's it for today, Daniele and I...where are you?

there you are!

ciao!!

we are signing off,I send you tons of kisses and I'll see you in my next one, ciao!

World of Tanks Weekly #29 - Updates Updates Updates! - Duration: 3:38.

Hey folks.

We have some Let's Battle Tour information for you.

The Lexington event, which was supposed to happen at the end of this month,

has been pushed.

Hopefully, by the time you see this video, a new date has been released to you.

Also, in an effort to help the victims of Hurricane Harvey and Irma,

Wargaming is going to be working with Team Rubicon with the relief efforts.

They're a group that is made up of 80% veterans

who are doing search and rescue efforts at those locations.

And there is a donation link in the description below.

So, if you feel so inclined, please click that.

Now, onto our regular news.

Shout out to player TrafficCone,

who has recently provided me with a document

that would increase the U.S. tech tree to 241 tanks.

241 tanks.

Alright? That is a lot of tanks.

I began looking through this documentation.

There's some tanks that I'm really excited for, if we were to put them in.

But I look forward to checking the rest of it out.

Thank you very much, TrafficCone, for that.

In the comments section below, folks, what tank lines do you want more tanks in?

Traffic Cone has got you covered.

At least he does now, because I just put him on blast.

We have the On-Track to the IS-4 going on.

If you decide to do this On-Track, I hate you

because this thing is like the iron fortress of bouncy bounce town.

I just can't seem to penetrate it.

So, good luck with that.

See you on the battlefield.

We have a times 3 XP weekend going on.

Who doesn't like XP? I know I do.

Take out your favorite tanks. Get all that XP.

Hopefully sometime in the next millennia we get a XP conversion again.

I know we just had one, but, y'know...

XP builds up. Jeez.

Semi-decent transition, Steven.

Currently, the NA influencers have their hands on the WZ Chinese TD.

Go to their blogs, streams, videos, whatever.

Ask them what they think of it. Constructive feedback is always the best.

Yemen's Disaster: Not Entirely Our Fault | Yemen 2 | ELAI 19 - Duration: 6:53.

Angry Trump Fans Burn Their MAGA Hats After Immigration Talks - Duration: 4:17.

Following a recent announcement that Donald Trump and the Democrats had come to some sort

of deal on DACA and immigration reform, even though Donald Trump said there was no deal

made, the appearance that he's going to work with Democrats and somehow give these people

path to citizenship has enraged his far-right base so much so that videos are now floating

around on Twitter and Facebook of hardcore Donald Trump supporters burning their make

America great again hat.

In fact, there were so many of these that the burn my MAGA hat hashtag began to trend

on Twitter, and you can still look that up and see videos of these people who are so

furious with the President that they're burning his merchandise that they probably overpaid

for to begin with.

But don't worry about Trump, obviously he already got their vote.

He got their money for the hats, so he's gonna be just fine.

But let's get to the real heart of this issue, and this little backlash, protest, MAGA hat

burning proves that Trump supporters supported the President, at least the hardcore folk,

the alt-right folk, because he promised to get rid of the people in this country who

didn't look like them.

That is their only issue, that is their only concern, and that is their only motivation.

Even Ann Coulter came out again, even after she said that, "Who doesn't want Trump impeached

now," she's now come out and admitted, "I bet on a loser with Donald Trump."

Keep in mind, this is a woman who wrote a book titled In Trump, We Trust.

It was always about immigration.

It was always about preserving the white race here in the United States.

It had nothing to do with keeping people safe from the very few dangerous people that come

across the border.

It was all about making making America white again.

That is what these people wanted and now that it appears that Donald Trump might not deport

800,000 people who came into this country as children, suddenly they lose their minds.

They've decided that Trump isn't good enough for them.

Even though they supported him wholeheartedly throughout the campaign because of his racial

overtones that were pretty much the common theme throughout his campaigning and his speeches

and his rallies, they now believe that they have been betrayed, that Donald Trump somehow

isn't a true conservative.

Listen, Donald Trump's not gonna disappoint you people.

He wants your vote and that's why he's still out there pushing for this wall.

So he's gonna do whatever he has to to make you happy because it appears that he believes

the same things that you do and that is that America should be nothing but white people,

close off the borders, don't let anyone that looks different from us come into this country.

Unfortunately, that is grossly at-odds with American history, as that is literally how

this country was founded to begin with.

A lot of ancestors, for most of the people in this country, are not Native Americans.

We came over, either across a border or on a ship, some of even on planes 'cause we've

been here that recently.

So stop acting like you have some kind of claim to American heritage because American

heritage is everything.

But more importantly, American heritage is Native Americans, the people that this country's

treated like crap since we first came over on those boats.

We owe the white people in this country nothing.

But we owe the people who wanna come over here and make a better life for themselves,

those are the people who aren't gonna go out there and run over protesters with their car.

They're not gonna go out there, buy tiki torches, and march in their khaki shorts because they

want a homogenous race here in the United States.

They wanna come over here and work and contribute and live a better life.

That's more than we can say about these people burning their MAGA hats.

Forget Price Gouging: Businesses React Altruistically To Disasters - Duration: 2:51.

They're calling this an almost unfathomable amount of rain

hitting this part of Texas, guys.

With natural disasters in the news,

the country is being treated to a real-time debate over the sins of so-called price gouging,

If you're price gouging in our state, I'm going to go after you.

And I will shame you on national TV.

Defenders of gouging, including many libertarians,

stress that price hikes force customers to prioritize their purchases

while incentivizing suppliers to bring necessities to market.

Marking the price up, selling it high as hell.

So if jugs of water are selling at $10 a gallon,

businesses have a motivation to truck them in.

One of the advantages of letting prices rise is it forces people to make the tough decisions.

And at that price, no one's going to use that water to wash their cars.

Critics, however, say that it's immoral to use the price mechanism

to meter out essentials in a crisis.

You know we're gonna now see people coming in from other states,

trying to sell generators for a thousand dollars to take care of-

you know to hurt people in need.

It's disgusting, if anybody price gouges

this is not the time to take advantage of our neighbors.

Yet both sides ignore a more-important reality:

Local and national businesses routinely give away goods and services

much more efficiently than public-sector responders or charities can manage.

We saw what was happening in Florida

we thought what could we do to help our neighbors in Florida as well.

In the wake of Hurricane Harvey slamming Texas,

businesses pledged over $72 million in aid,

with over three dozen giving more than $1 million a piece.

Airbnb used its home-sharing network to set up places for people to stay,

and the crowd-sourced mapping app Waze helped the displaced find shelters.

Walmart, the left's favorite corporate bogeyman,

pledged more $20 million and brought water and food to the needy.

During Hurricane Katrina, the world's largest retailer trucked in relief

long after FEMA convoys stopped running.

We will also match those donations two to one up to ten million dollars

bringing the whole total to thirty million.

Private sector aid gets less press than empty shelves and gouging accusations,

but it also makes good business sense.

In some cases, price hikes during a crisis are appropriate,

but most retailers know they're better off showing that they care about their customers

and aren't out to take advantage of a bad situation.

Successful businesses safeguard their reputations.

In The Wealth of Nations, Adam Smith wrote that he had

"never known much good done by" people motivated by charitable aims,"

but providing aid in disasters is every bit as much a part of the free market

as more obvious forms of profit seeking.

If critics and defenders of gouging are really interested in creating a better society,

they'd do well to help make this part of the Invisible Hand visible to all.

THE AMERICAN ACADEMY OF PEDIATRICS IS CALLING FOR HEPATI - Duration: 13:33.

THE AMERICAN ACADEMY OF PEDIATRICS IS CALLING FOR HEPATITIS B VACCINATION OF ALL NEWBORNS

WITHIN 24 HOURS

On August 28, 2017, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) called for the administration

of the hepatitis B vaccine to all American newborns within 24 hours of birth. This decision

shows that the AAP is completely incapable of performing a risk-analysis, that they dont

know the basics of germ-theory, and that they dont even give lip-service to individualized

medicine.

Diseases, including vaccine-preventable diseases like hepatitis B, are caused by exposure to

pathogens. Simply put, you cannot get a disease if you are not exposed to its pathogen its

germ-theory 101. Hepatitis B is caused by the hepatitis B virus, so if you are not exposed

to the hepatitis B virus, you cannot get that disease. Hepatitis B is NOT caused by a lack

of hepatitis B vaccination. A hepatitis B vaccine can train your immune system to attack

and resist hepatitis B virus if it is exposed to it, but you still cant contract it unless

you are exposed.

According to the US Centers for Disease Control (CDC):

HBV is transmitted through activities that involve percutaneous (i.e., puncture through

the skin) or mucosal contact with infectious blood or body fluids (e.g., semen, saliva),

including

Sex with an infected partner Injection drug use that involves sharing needles,

syringes, or drug-preparation equipment Birth to an infected mother

Contact with blood or open sores of an infected person

Needle sticks or sharp instrument exposures Sharing items such as razors or toothbrushes

with an infected person The ONLY one of the risk-factors listed above

that should apply to an infant is being born to a mother who is infected with the hepatitis

B virus. All infants that are born to mothers with the hepatitis B virus should get the

hepatitis B vaccine. However, according to the CDC, only 1,000 of the 4,000,000 infants

born in the U.S. each year are born to mothers with hepatitis B. That means that only 0.025%

of American newborns are at risk of acquiring hepatitis B from their mother.

So, why is the AAP calling for ALL infants to be vaccinated against hepatitis B regardless

of the viral status of their mother? Why is the AAP calling for an invasive medical procedure

to be performed on ALL infants when far fewer than 1% of American-born infants are at risk

of exposure to the virus?

I think its an absurd recommendation, but in an attempt at empathy, Ill give you

a couple potential reasons why an organization of presumably smart people might make a recommendation

along these lines:

They think that the hepatitis B vaccine is harmless, and that we may as well give

it to all infants just in case theyre exposed to the disease.

Greed, greed, and more greed. Pediatricians are paid to fully vaccinate the children

in their practice. Pediatrics is not the highest paying medical specialty, and recommending

over-vaccination is a way that the AAP can financially support its members.

They dont have the time or resources to ask about every mothers hepatitis B status,

so they assume that everyone is hepatitis B positive (even though very few people are).

The AAP justifies the ridiculous extremity of vaccinating everyones children, regardless

of hepatitis B status, on the day of their birth, with the fact that approximately 90%

of infants who contract perinatal hepatitis B (there were 37 infants who contracted perinatal

hepatitis B in the U.S. in 2015) would go on to develop chronic hepatitis B infections

in the absence of treatment. That chronic hepatitis B in combination with cirrhosis

(much more likely with high levels of alcohol consumption) could put those children at significant

risk of liver cancer someday. In other words, the AAP is telling us that we all need to

vaccinate our newborns immediately to keep them from being among the 33 infants per year

who could drink themselves into liver cancer someday. (source)

Possibility #1 is likely the one that resonates most with parents of newborns, while possibilities

#2 and 3 are self-explanatory, and possibility #4 is just ludicrous. When most parents agree

to have their newborn vaccinated against the hepatitis B virus on the day of their birth,

they are attempting to protect their child. They think that the possibility of being exposed

to the hepatitis B virus is high, and the possibility of suffering from an adverse-reaction

to the hepatitis B vaccine is low to non-existent. Is that true though?

Again, per the CDC, the activities that put a person at-risk for exposure to the hepatitis

B virus are:

Sex with an infected partner Injection drug use that involves sharing needles,

syringes, or drug-preparation equipment Birth to an infected mother

Contact with blood or open sores of an infected person

Needle sticks or sharp instrument exposures Sharing items such as razors or toothbrushes

with an infected person Dont let your infants have sex with anyone

much less an infected partner, dont let them inject drugs, dont let them have

contact with blood or open sores of an infected person (typically IV drug users and sex workers),

and tell them not to share toothbrushes or razors with anyone. Thats parenting 101.

Yes, there are horrible situations that can happen a child could get raped by a hepatitis

B infected person, or a dentist could fail to clean her tools properly and infect your

child with hepatitis B (or HIV). These things could happen. But they are incredibly unlikely,

and they are even less likely when a child has parents who are desirous of keeping him

or her safe.

But the vaccine is completely, 100%, unassailably, infallibly, safe, right? No, of course not.

No pharmaceutical, medical device, or vaccine is perfectly safe for everyone. Every single

medical intervention has side-effects including vaccines. They may be rare

but they are not impossible. Your child may have an immune-system disorder, kidney disorder,

liver disorder, or genetic predisposition that makes him or her unable to properly process

the hepatitis B vaccine, and he or she may suffer from an adverse reaction to it. Additionally,

vaccinating on the day of a childs birth makes it impossible for parents and physicians

alike to know whether or not an infant is healthy, or whether his or her immune system,

kidneys, liver, etc. are operating as they should.

How likely are adverse reactions to the hepatitis B vaccine given to infants on the day of their

birth? Thats a tough question to answer. Its difficult to tell when an infant is

having an adverse reaction to a vaccine given to him or her at birth. Neither parents nor

pediatricians have any notion of what is normal for that particular baby. If the baby is crying

incessantly, it may be having a bad reaction to the vaccine, or it may just be a fussy

baby. Vaccinating on the day of birth means that there is no baseline of health for the

baby.

Since one cant do a before/after test of an infant that receives a hepatitis B vaccine

on the day that infant is born, we must look toward epidemiological studies to give us

an idea of the risks of the hepatitis B vaccine. Epidemiological studies point toward increased

incidents of neurological problems for children who receive the hepatitis B vaccine at birth.

A 2007 study found that odds of requiring early intervention services for developmental

disabilities were nine times greater in boys who had received three doses of hepatitis

B vaccine than in boys who had received zero. A 2010 study found that boys who received

the birth dose of hepatitis B had a threefold risk of autism when compared with boys who

didnt.

Neurological problems in children are far more common than perinatal hepatitis B transmission.

Approximately 11% of children ages 4-17 have been diagnosed with ADHD (also according to

the CDC), and 1:68 children are on the autism spectrum. The chance of hepatitis B transmission

at birth is less than 1%.

Which do you think is more likely, that your child is going to be exposed to hepatitis

B (whether from a rapist IV drug-user, or from a negligent dentist, or from you) or

that he or she is going to have a neurological disorder? Basic math and commonsense tell

you that a neurological disorder is more likely. Certainly, there are other causes of neurological

disorders, but vaccination for hepatitis B at birth is linked to neurological disorders,

and even if it being a causal agent is truly rare, its still more likely than encountering

a negligent dentists, or a drug-addicted, hepatitis B infected, rapist attacking your

infant at least for most people.

Even if you dismiss all evidence linking administration of the hepatitis B vaccine at birth to later

neurological problems, the chances of hepatitis B infection of an infant born to a mother

who is not infected with hepatitis B are so slim that its not even worth the pain caused

by the jab itself, much less the aluminum adjuvants, intentional immune system activation

(that is what vaccines are intended to do), and other side-effects of the vaccine.

The AAP recommendation that all infants be vaccinated against hepatitis B on the day

of their birth is absurd. A risk-analysis using data and information directly from the

CDC shows that children born to uninfected parents are unlikely to be exposed to the

hepatitis B virus, and though the risk of experiencing an adverse reaction to the vaccine

is difficult to establish, there are certainly reasons to think that adverse reactions are

more likely than hepatitis B virus exposure.

One of the more offensive and obnoxious things about the AAP recommendation is that it doesnt

take into account any individual differences in disease-status or lifestyle. Neither I,

nor the AAP, know the risk factors in your life, and I encourage everyone who has children,

or even who is thinking of having children, to do their own risk analysis before taking

any medication, or accepting any vaccination.

We dont routinely vaccinate against yellow fever in the U.S. because yellow fever is

a tropical disease that doesnt exist in the U.S., and therefore it is not necessary

for us to vaccinate against it unless were travelling to a place where it does exist.

Hepatitis B exists in the U.S., but it is rare, and vaccinating every infant against

it, on the day of their birth, is crazy. Its disappointing that an organization like the

AAP, that is presumably full of intelligent people, is advocating for it as a routine

practice.

Im sure that there will be many disparaging comments and accusations of being an anti-vaxxer

thrown in my direction, but just to make sure that I make everyone on both sides of the

vaccination fence mad, I want to close by saying that Im not opposed to the hepatitis

B vaccine. If you are engaged in high-risk activities, such as IV drug use or unprotected

sex with various partners, getting vaccinated against the hepatitis B virus is smart and

responsible. Infants who are born to mothers who are infected with the hepatitis B virus

should receive the hepatitis B vaccine. However, it is absurd to vaccinate every infant, regardless

of risk, against a sexually transmitted disease that he or she has close to zero risk of exposure,

on the day of his or her birth. Every pharmaceutical, including every vaccine, has risks, warnings,

and contraindications. Exposure of every infant born in the U.S. to those risks, is ridiculous,

thoughtless, and wrong. The AAP has made a recommendation that is somewhere between thoughtless

and negligent, and they should rescind and change course.

Block Plane Restoration - Duration: 5:25.

First of all sorry about the cricket I tried getting rid of him second of all I'm Andrew

welcome to my workshop and today we are going to making this block plane usable let's get

started this episode is brought to you by my patreon supporters head over to patreon.com/andrewsworkshop

to donate $1 or more a video to get access to bonus content and early access to videos

so first off here is the block plane and i'm just going to start by taking it apart and

putting it all into this dish which it's actually missing a part which you will soon find out

at the end of this video what part that is now right now i'm just taking brass wire brush

to knock most the rust off I don't want to get to aggressive with it yet i've had problems

with it before and then i'm trying to find a bin im going to pour vinegar in here just

normal white vinegar so it's not diluted or anything and this will help break up the rust

on it and kind of eat away at it and makes it easier to come off now its been sitting

in here for about 2 and a half hours i'm going to rinse it off with just some water and you

are going to want to make sure you get it real good i'm brushing it off with a steel

brush steel wire brush now and you want to make sure that you get all of the vinegar

off otherwise it will continue to eat the metal and actually corrode it so here I am

rinsing them good in a separate tub just move it out of the way there and you want to dry

it off so the rust doesn't come right back here i'm taking my hand drill with a metal

wire brush on it really grind away the rust you can see how it cleaned it up there on

the side i'm going to be removing the paint on the sides as well now i was going to paint

the inside of this but i didn't have any paint because I wanted it to match my other one

which was red so the whole thing is just going to be metal and i am going to leave the majority

of the black paint inside that was there then right after this we are going to fatten the

bottom of the shoe i'm going to polish it up a little more with the wheel in my drill

press i took the paint off the handle you can see that i'm leaving it inside the handle

and inside the actual shoe of the block plane here i'm taking a piece of tempered glass

this is from like an old printer that i pulled out of the garbage putting some glue stick

on the back of the sandpaper and then taping it down i'm using the glass as the back because

the glass is nearly perfectly flat i'm not going to say perfectly flat because somebody

will get at me then i'm just going to take some glass cleaner on here and sand both sides

of the chisel for the hand plane then i'm going to sand down the bottom of the shoe

this is really fine sandpaper too so this will just help me flatten the bottom but the

glass helps keeps it perfectly flat or pretty close to the bottom of the shoe now im just

dry sanding it without the glass cleaner next the blade was really really messed up so i'm

just going to to take it to about 120 grit paper well it's actually really worn down

120 grit paper on the belt sander just to kind of bring it back into shape okay guys

so this project turned out really well I got this hand plane usable i was going to paint

the inside of it red just like my other one just like my Worthington 400 I can't use it

it would work but while restoring it I didn't notice that it was missing the frog for those

of you who don't know the frog is the art that goes right underneath the blade you can

see it on the Worthington a bit better its this black ice right here with the knob that

actually holds the that actually holds the chisel plate so yeah this one is missing it

I didn't notice it until I was about to go use it when I put it back together another

thing that is very disappointing is that this does not have any branding on it so I can't

tell who manufactures this i'm just going to have to figure it out myself and see if

I can find a frog for it or I might even make one out of wood or 3D Print one here in the

future so stay tuned for a video like that because im sure ill do it because this is

a really nice block plane it's actually the only one I own and it doesn't even work so

anyways guys I hope you liked this video I hope you learned something from it I hope

that you enjoyed it restoring a tool is actually not that hard it's a lot of work it's a lot

of work it's a lot of sanding and stuff I did spare you the tie of me sharpening the

blade because no one wants to watch that but anyways guys I hope you liked this video if

you did give it a thumbs up that way I know you are enjoying this content if you disliked

it give it a thumbs down also if you didn't like it leave me a comment below on how much

you didn't like it because I want to know why you don't like it just kidding don't comment

why you don't like it or do I could care less so anyways guys again I hope you enjoyed the

video learned something from it so anyways guys i'm Andrew and i'll see you guys later

oh my goodness that's so disappointing

I don't think this is a good idea

and now we need to taste it

cheers!

let me see you reaction first

it's good, it's good!

let me taste it...

it's really good!

yep, it's good

without too many words, it's simply good

it's actually really good

Goodevening my friends

you join me while I'm happily riding my bike

as we decided to go on a ride at sunset

that's so romantic..great now I have my panties all out

Fall is upon us

the leaves are falling

and we almost got runned over by a car

we're back

after the bike ride and we are making pizza

now I'll let the cook talk, so he'll explain what the heck he is doing

what are you doing?

I'm grilling some vegetables

you're on grill duty!

then I'll grill an eggplant too

let me see...it's there, still to be cut

I sliced some tomatoes

let me see them

what are they for?

NYC's WEIRDEST Store ! 😱 (Find Out Why) - Duration: 4:54.

What is going on members of the Barrio

It's Jon coming to you from the East Village of New York City

And today i'm going to be showing you guys around a store

That you're probably not going to find in many guide books

It's called Obscura Antiques and Oddities

This place is weird, this place is different

And I think you're going to like it a lot

Alright guys I've had a chance to walk around the store and this place is so unique

You're going to find out why

I've got one of the owners Evan sitting here

And she's going to be kind enough to show us around the store

Evan tell us a bit about this store for somebody who's never been here before

We specialize in the rare or things that are often overlooked.

Or things that are somehow difficult to understand

And probably pretty archaic

Alright great let's go for a tour

This is our miscellenaous area

Our entire shop is really a miscellaneous area

Umm so we often have some antique deer hooves

We have glass globes

We have natural history diaromas.

We always have some kind of mask

These are actually german painted masks

The details really beautiful on them

Can I try it on?

Yeah it kind of looks like you

Guys is he better looking or worse looking tell me in the comments.

Okay

It did kind of look like me a little bit

Yeah

We specialize in carved puppets

This one is an old wood specimen

It's terribly handsome I think

How much does this guy retail for?

This guys about 500 dollars

A very old one, original paint

Very nicely done

This is Goliath the dead

As you can see he has quite a pallete

Does it actually work

Should I move it?

Uhh if you can move it

They don't actually work in the sense that the spirits are probably not reaching out from the other side

And guiding your hand

You can believe that if you want

You always have the one friend who's doing it

Yeah... well they're kind of wasting their time

But if it makes you happy

And floats your boat and helps you sleep at night

Then that's whats happening

All the answers are

here

I actually found something that I'm going to be buying today

And these are Mexican comics

As postcards

I'm going to buy this just for Adriana

So this is our big case

In the back of the shop

It's my favorite place

This is where we keep some of the more unusual things

And the more fragile things

The older things

And the lock is very hard to get off

Don't get any ideas

I'll try not to

Yeah so we have things like the medical models

This is a wax tongue

We have some of my favorite stuff. This is all hair jewelery

This is a watch chain

Made out of human hair

We have this is a world war 1

Prosthetic arm

Featuring a hook oh wow.

It's really beautifully made

This one is German

And the person I acquired it from

Got it from the gentleman's family

And they said that his injury

Came on armistice day

So maybe one of the last people to have lost limbs during world war 1

Can I hold that?

Yeah please do

A prosthetic arm from World War 1

This is incredible

This whole store is just living history

What's inside here

That is actually another stereo viewer

This is one of my favorite areas of the shop

It's one of our specialities

History of Medicine

These are early pharmeceutical bottles

We have here a lot of poisons

A lot of glandular substances

And things that were typically used medicinally

A lot of 19th and very early 20th century

We also have instruments

And other things that sort of make people

Nervous

Those make me nervous just looking at them

What sort of person do you think would enjoy coming to this store?

Doesn't matter where you come from, how much money you have, doesn't matter what sex you are.

What color, nationality.

Religion. The only thing everyone has in common who loves this place

Is that they have a healthy sense of curiousity

Alright members of the Barrio

What a cool place to go shopping

I mean they have gifts from 1 dollar to thousands of dollars

Go check them out

Tell Evan that I sent you

I'm leaving a link in the description

If you want to visit this place

Make sure to subscribe

Leave me a comment, tell me what you thought about the store.

What was your favorite item?

Guys, I appreciate it so much

I've got a lot more coming out from New York City

Thanks for watching.

Top 10 Most Popular Dog Breeds in America 2017 ❤ Dogs 101 - Duration: 10:23.

Dogs are better than human beings because they know but do not tell.

Emily Dickinson

Man's best friend is a faithful, loyal companion offering fluffy, and sometimes slobbery, love.

However, some dogs hold particularly special places in the hearts of Americans.

While Dachshunds and Yorkies will certainly be present on this list, can you guess what

the top dog breed will be?

Hi, I'm Leroy and I'm Rosie and this is Animal Facts.

Let's get started.

But, before we start, take a moment to like and subscribe for more fun, fauna facts.

Let us know about your doggy in the comments below.

10.

Dachshunds

Starting off our list is the curious, lively, charming, and brave Dachshund.

The Dachshund attracts devoted followers who would never consider having any other dog.

Indeed, the Dachshund is often kept in pairs, which is OK with him, since he seems to recognize

and prefer being with other "wiener dogs".

The breed's population dwindled during World War l, but soon after they were imported from

Germany to the USA and the gene pool once again increased.

The Dachshund was recognized by the AKC in 1885.

9.

Rottweilers

The AKC Standard describes the Rottweiler as "a calm, confident, and courageous dog

with a self-assured aloofness that does not lend itself to immediate and indiscriminate

friendships."

Typically steadfast, sensible, and serious (though some are happy-go-lucky clowns!),

the Rottweiler tends to respond quietly and with a wait-and-see attitude.

Overall, the Rottweiler is a splendid, capable companion in the right hands, but without

ongoing companionship, socialization, obedience training, and supervision, he is "too much

dog" for many households.

8.

Poodles

Many people have misconceptions about the Poodle -- that he looks and acts like a "froofroo"

dog.

This is one of the biggest myths in dogdom.

The Poodle is an elegant, energetic athlete who moves with a light, springy gait.

He excels in advanced obedience competition, where retrieving and jumping skills are required,

and in agility competitions, where he flies over and under and through the obstacles with

a strength and grace of a champion.

The Poodle has been consistently ranked as one of the most intelligent of all dog breeds,

landing him firmly on the most popular dog breeds list.

7.

Boxers

He might have a worried look on his wrinkled face, but the Boxer isn't worried about being

loved: he's seventh most popular dog in America.

And that's no surprise since this is a joyful, loyal companion who truly bonds with his human

family.

A well-bred, well-socialized Boxer is friendly with children and people he knows, suspicious

and alert but not aggressive with strangers.

He's always ready for a walk, a game or just some quality time on the sofa with his favorite

person.

6.

Yorkshire Terriers

The Yorkie has long been labeled as the preferred companion of well-heeled, older women who

wouldn't dream to live in a building without a doorman, and who can't bear to be late for

the local arts fundraiser.

Yet there aren't enough society dames out there to account for the Yorkie's popularity.

Truth is, he appeals to a wide range of dog-lovers, thanks to his shoe-button eyes and soft-to-the-touch,

silky coat.

The Yorkie is alert, trainable, and insatiably curious, making him a quintessential 'big

dog in a little dog's body.'

5.

Bulldogs

Laughter, love and a face everyone adores ensure the enduring popularity of the Bulldog.

He's a gentle family companion today, but he was originally bred to fight for sport

' a past that, combined with his stalwart devotion, has made the breed the mascot of

a number of colleges as well as the United States Marine Corps.

No breed is more admired for the qualities of loyalty and determination that the Bulldog

represents.

Few breeds are as easily recognized as the Bulldog, with his wrinkled mug, distinctive

underbite, and Churchillian jowls.

Sometimes referred to as the English or British Bulldog, he's a short, sturdy dog with a bow-legged

gait, weighing between 40 and 60 pounds.

4.

Beagles

With a compact size, easy-care coat and happy nature, the Beagle has long had a place as

one of the most popular breeds for families.

Beagles are also used as scent detection dogs at U.S. airports, where their friendliness

and indiscriminate food drive allows them to search for weapons, drugs, and illegal

food items without making passengers nervous.

The breed was developed in England to hunt rabbits, and Beagles are still happiest when

following their noses.

For that reason, he belongs to a category of dogs known as scent hounds.

Don't let the small size or undeniable charm of the Beagle fool you: this dog is still

born to hunt.

He's been described as "a nose with four legs," and he loves following a scent trail.

The minute he smells something interesting he's likely to follow his nose rather than

his owner's requests.

3.

Golden Retrievers

Cheerful, easy to train and eager to please, the Golden Retriever is what you see in the

dictionary when you look up 'Perfect Family Dog.'

The Golden loves everyone, especially children, and gets along well with new people and strange

dogs.

He draws admiring looks and usually loving pats from almost everyone he meets.

The Golden is an active dog who will retrieve a tennis ball until your arm falls off.

His loyalty, intelligence, and stable temperament have made him the darling of the service dog

world, performing tasks from Guiding the Blind to helping PTSD suffers deal with everyday

life.

His smiling face and sun-kissed coat have brought more than a few to movie fame, including

a starring role in two 'Homeward Bound' movies.

2.

German Shepherd Dog

Rin Tin Tin, a pup found in a World War I battle zone, became the world's first canine

movie star, forever marking the German Shepherd Dog as one of the most easily recognized breeds.

From his imposing size to his erect ears and dark, intelligent eyes, he has achieved legendary

status as the ideal canine.

A versatile, athletic and fearless working dog, the Shepherd has done just about every

job a dog can do, from leading the blind and detecting illicit drugs to bringing down fleeing

criminals and serving in the armed forces.

An energetic, loyal and devoted companion, the German Shepherd isn't a breed but a lifestyle.

The abilities of this breed go far beyond his origin as a herding dog.

The German Shepherd has made a name for himself as a police and military dog, guide and assistance

dog, search and rescue dog, and detector dog.

He has excelled in every canine sport, including agility, obedience, rally, tracking and, of

course, herding.

German Shepherds still work livestock on farms and ranches around the world, today, including

in the United States.

1.

Labrador Retriever

The Labrador Retriever has consistently ranked as the most popular purebred dog in the United

States for more than 10 years, according to the American Kennel Club.

The AKC registers more than a hundred thousand new Labrador Retrievers each year, but when

you take into account all the Labs never registered at all, or registered with another organization

such as the United Kennel Club, the popularity of this stable, family-friendly dog is truly

staggering.

A Labrador Retriever has the kind of versatility that other dogs only dream of.

He can be a companion, show dog, hunting dog, canine athlete, guide dog, service dog, sniffer

dog, search and rescue dog, and therapy dog.

He enjoys jogging, boating, swimming, hiking and more.

If it's active, outdoors and with his people, the Lab is ready and willing to participate

in any activity.

Stacey Solomon says she'd never lend her ex-EastEnders boyfriend Joe Swash money - Duration: 2:12.

Stacey Solomon says she'd never lend her ex-EastEnders boyfriend Joe Swash money

Stacey Solomon wouldnt lend her boyfriend Joe Swash money under any circumstances. Stacey, who was co-hosting Loose Women when she made the revelation, explained that shed rather shower friends or partners in love and affection than offer them cash.

Shed also rather let friends stay with her than lend cash, because she fears lending friends money means not being able to see them in the same way anymore.

I dont care what their financial situation is, Stacey said of meeting a new guy.

I look at their personality, who they are, what they bring to me as a human being, how much I can get from them in that respect, Stacey explained.   I dont really have to look at money.

If theyre having money difficulties Ill offer advice, but I dont really want to get involved. Co-host Denise Van Outen asked: If your partner comes to you and says: Ive hit rock bottom and I really need your help, would you do it, financially?   And Stacey firmly responded: I would say come and live me.

Ill offer you emotional love and support, but I wont help you with money. All Ive ever known when it comes to money and relationships is resentment, the former X-Factor star confessed.

If they dont give it back theres that bit inside you that says they took that from me and they dont care.      .
