Metamaterials Explained Simply and Visually - Duration: 5:38.So we're all familiar with the tools that we use to control light waves. A
great example of one is a magnifying glass - a lens like this. We also see those
lenses in eyeglasses like I'm wearing right here. And how those lenses work -
I'll sketch a shape of a lens here - many of us may remember from
high school physics how this lens works. When we think in terms of ray paths the
direction the light travels, and it's bent by the shape of the glass so that
on the other side, the light converges and creates a focus, or an
image, at this spot. From the perspective of how waves travel, there's an alternate
view of how lenses work. And what I'm sketching here are the individual peaks
and valleys. The wave fronts of the light waves that are traveling in this
direction and hitting the lens, and what happens is in the middle of the lens the
light is slowed down, while on the edges of the lens where the lens is thinner,
the light is slowed down less. And so what happens is the shape of the
wavefront as it emerges from the lens is now
curved - slowed down here or delayed, and least delayed here, and it creates a
converging wavefront that also creates a focus at this spot here. It's kind of the
opposite of what happens when you throw a rock in a pond, creating an expanding
wave. This is a converging wave to this image right here.
Conventional lenses work because of their specific shape. Remember that they
are curved in order that the incident light waves are slowed down in the
middle where the lens is thickest and slowed down the least at the edges where
the lens is thinnest. And that's what creates this converging wavefront and an
image. And the reason lenses are expensive and complicated is because
we're stuck with the material properties of glass, and the only way we can create
this spatially varying light propagation is with the shape of the lens.
And that lens shape has to be controlled very very precisely in
optical devices. But we could ask ourselves, what if we were no longer
stuck with material properties like glass that are fixed? If we had more
flexibility in the material properties, then we could imagine creating a lens
that has a much simpler shape, and we simply need different material
properties in the middle of the lens in order to slow down the light waves there
and allow the light waves to travel faster at the edges. And if we had the
ability to do that, we could create a lens that does exactly the same thing -
creates a converging wavefront and an image over here and yet has a much
simpler shape and actually could be much easier to manufacture. And the basic idea
of how can we control those light wave controlling material properties, that's
the basic idea of metamaterials. So what are the essential features of a wave? How
do we describe it? Well there are a couple of fundamental properties of waves.
One is the amplitude of the wave - how high it is from peak to valley, and
that's linked to how bright light is in a light wave or how loud sound is in a
sound wave. The more important feature for metamaterials is the wavelength,
which is the distance between one peak and the next peak. And that's tied to the
color of the light or the pitch of the sound wave. So how do we design
metamaterials? We start by looking at the wavelength we hope to control, and if the
wavelength is this size sketched here, then we need metamaterial structure that
is significantly smaller, or about the size I'm showing with my fingers. So we
then need to create an array or grid of metamaterial structures whose size is
that size or smaller. Now if we were creating something
with conventional materials like glass, we would be stuck with the same material
properties in each one of these squares. With metamaterials, we can put different
material properties in each one of those squares. That enables us to do things
like I sketched before - creating a flat lens where the wave travels slowly
through the middle of the structure and more quickly through the edges. But
what's really interesting with metamaterials is we can put anything at all
arbitrarily inside each one of these material building blocks. And when we do
something like that, we then have the ability to create wave
control that can take an input wave and not just create a converging wave on the
other side, but a completely arbitrarily complex wavefront. And that enables us to
do much more powerful wave processing with metamaterials.

KAMIL STOCH I JEGO PLANY PO ZAKOŃCZENIU SEZONU. POWRÓT DO DOMU, WAKACJE I NIE TYLKO! - Duration: 6:32.KAMIL STOCH I JEGO PLANY PO ZAKOŃCZENIU SEZONU.
I zrealizować kolejny ważny życiowy plan.
- Pozdrawiam (.
Teraz, gdy sezon dobiega końca, gdy małżonkowie mogą odpocząć, chcieliby też zawalczyć o to szczęście.

I Rant About My Previous Job Environment for 4 Minutes - Duration: 4:11.So a year ago
I worked in a startup advertising agency as a Junior Graphic Designer
In the beginning, I thought it was a cool place.
We didn't have a proper office...
It was a bar, apparently.
Yes...
It was... a bar...
Here's the thing tho
I didn't have to come to the office to work every day.
I worked from home
Or, remotely in this case.
That was what hooked me.
I work from ten o'clock to seven.
Standard working times.
My employers were pretty chill people.
They joke around a looot, and
they were pretty friendly...
So there's my boss.
The CEO
"Agressive"
My manager.
"Passive"
(and together they become PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE)
The 'supposedly' Creative Director
UNFRIENDLY SENPAI
I say 'supposedly' because
We've... never worked on a project together...
Never.
Aaand a senior graphic designer!
Cat Senpai (because she owns a lot of 🐱s)
I thought I struck gold.
y'know. My first job and
I have such chill employers
What could go wrong? 🤔🤔🤔
what could go wrong indeed...
First of all!
Job Briefs
we don't have them...
We don't have job briefs
The term 'job brief' does not exist in my company's dictionary.
They... just don't do job briefs 🤷
You wanna know how the project manager passes down work to you?
They do it via text.
They text you.
Your job brief.
Or... an email with a single sentence.
That's it.
That was my job brief for the entire year I was working there.
I did ask them. Like how they were getting their shit together.
without job briefs.
And they were like:
We think that it's unnecessary :) You know~
The last company I worked in
had sooo many stupid job briefs :)
We think that texting is faster and it gets straight to the point :)
Don't you agree? :)
No??
Omg NO?"???
Why would you ever think that they were unnecessary in the first place??
The inconsistencies with your instructions...
What the client wants
What YOU want
and what was given to me
has that... not occurred to you that...
the lot of you are a huge horrible mess?
No Job Briefs? Fine.
If this is the company's culture
then... I just have to adjust to it. Right?
fml
Secondly!
Project Timelines and Gantt Chart
We don't have those either.
My project manager
is a Magical Time Wizard (apparently)
She remembers ALL the dates and the time estimated to complete a project before it's dued (because she's uses magic)
that's why.
90% of the time
I'm working on last minute work.
Yeah.
and I don't get overtime pay... by the way.
even if I'm like, working from seven to ten
In the night
I don't get paid.
Which led to an argument I got with her.
About the Gantt Charts.
But uhm
We'll save that story for another day, shall we?
Untitled Emails!
Y'know it's cool that you guys don't even bother to write your job briefs
You'd think they bothered with titling their emails properly.
Nope.
You know shit's wrong with your boss if she asks you to send the same email
Literally FIVE minutes after you sent it
Because she couldn't find it
That's how messy her inbox was.
NEVER. Have I EVER.
Worked with people THIS disorganised.
And I thought group projects back in university was horrible enough.
Guess I thought wrong ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Surround Yourself With People BETTER Than You! - Motivational Video - Duration: 10:50.at 18 I was really fortunate when I met a monk and this monk was invited to
speak and I kind of just went because one of my friends forced me to at that
time I was listening to CEOs and entrepreneurs and business people and
marketers who who I thought that's what I was aspiring to be like and then I
hear this monk and he captivated me like no one had ever captivated me before it
was like staring at the most beautiful woman on the planet you know I was
completely fixated on him and his message see we live in echo chambers
we're just surrounded by the same thinking how often do you bump into a
monk you know it just doesn't happen you don't have no one has a dinner party and
goes oh yeah we just invited the monk you know from town like the local monk
like no one ever does that and so you meet people who are just like us most of
the time and we talked about this in business volatile if you wanna be a
billionaire spend time with billionaires if you want to be a millionaire spend
time with millionaires if you want to be a tech startup spend time with you know
that's that's the common rhetoric that we hear all the time but what if you
want to find purpose and master the mind there's no one better than a monk who's
mastered the mind so for me the first step is just opening yourself up to new
experiences and new role models because most of us can't see ourselves in people
so then we try and fit ourselves into the boxes that we do see and and I mean
there's this beautiful quote that I've been saying it everywhere and I wish I
wrote it but I didn't so it's by a philosopher and writer named Cooley and
he said that today I'm not what I think I am I'm not what you think I am
I am what I think you think I am let me just let that blow your mind for me
it's so powerful I know what I think I am I'm not what you think I am I am what
I think you think I am so we live in this perception of a perception of
ourselves hence my identity is made by what my
parents think I should be my identity is made up by what my college or university
thinks I should achieve while you're living in that bubble and that echo
chamber getting to what you really want to do is impossible because maybe that
just doesn't fit and I think so many people
feel that way today but they don't fit into the current education system they
don't fit with the three or four or five careers that you're taught exist so that
process of self excavation and actualization first requires being
exposed you can't be what you can't see if I never saw a monk I would never have
wanted to be a monk if I never meet a billionaire I wouldn't
want to be one because I wouldn't know what that feels like I don't know what
it looks like I don't know what it takes and I think that's the biggest challenge
of our society that we're not exposed so that's the first step being exposed to
unique experiences and role models second step is finding that experience
or role model that you're passionate about exactly like you said taking it
seriously shatter their network with them spend time with them observe them
even from afar it takes that observation being addicted to observing that
person's lifestyle and then the third step is going yes or no does that work
for me not everyone who's gonna go off from become a monk is gonna feel like
the way I did and that's cool but not everyone is gonna go and follow and
shadow a billionaire and that's exactly the lifestyle I want they may want the
result but do they want the hard work that goes with it and so for me that's
the third step it's observing focusing shadowing getting as close to the
process of that individual and then going yes or no do I want that process
not do I want the result everyone wants to be that monk who is fully enlightened
you know can walk through who has an incredible ora that people just gravitate
towards but when you realize he has to wake up at 2:00 a.m. every day and
sleeps about four to six hours you're like ah you know I don't want to do it every single
morning Monday through Fridays at 9:00 a.m. I host a live call-in radio show on
Sirius satellite radio it's called make it happen with Mel Robbins and the thing
that's been so crazy about that show is every single person that calls me on
that show they call in because they're feeling stuck in their lives and they're
resigned about their ability to change their lives and I'm not talking about
people that are nuts I'm talking about successful people like you and me that
just somehow got stuck in their life and I'm not talking about people that are
looking for cheesy self-help I'm talking about people that really want to figure
out how to move themselves forward and you know I find that so many of us think
that our dreams are unreachable or unrealistic and it's just so sad I mean
people think that their dreams disappear and if that's what you think
congratulations you're officially stuck and the truth is that our dreams are
always there and they don't ever give up on us we give up on them but here's the
secret if you just force yourself and I mean force because I know damn well none
of you want to do anything about this and I also know you're sitting there
like yeah the self-help crap this isn't for me but if you just force yourself to
take a couple small steps there's always a surprise there's always a surprise
waiting when you're young and you're a kid you have so many I grew up in the hood man
Oh Flint Michigan where I'm from and they say Cruise you can do
anything you want to do you can do anything you want to do and then as soon
as you go to class you tell them what you want to do and then I met what makes
you think you're gonna do something like that man crazy yeah and I say okay wait
which one is it now can I do it or can't I do it right so I started to call
people on that I started to call people and I said you know what I'm gonna go
for it I'm gonna just try something that I've never done before I want to design
furniture I want to be a part of this thing that's all I'm going and you know
what happened the stuff worked people started doing it started happening
we took the furniture to Milan we went in front of all the best people
in the whole world and it got accepted and people were saying how great it was
and how beautiful it was and I said man don't never let anybody talk you out of
something like that it never man is for somebody who is taking steps to make a
positive change but he is getting all kinds of negative consequences for bad
decisions he took in the past at some point in fact I'll just quote loud sue
the guy that wrote the Dao de Jing he said if you worry about whether the
other people think about you you will always be their prisoner so unless
you're prepared to be other people's prisoners at some point if they are
hurling dirt on you if they're constantly trying to rebury you under
the earth that you're trying to claw your way out from then you're never
gonna get out you've got to just stop worrying about what they think so they
can't actually affect you they can only try to influence your mindset so and
even even now if people hate you slings and arrows you could get a job digitally
you could go be a freelancer on up work or whatever people don't even have to
know who you are so truly in today's world they are not gonna be able to stop
you from getting a job but they can really mess with your head but only if
you let them so I will say to that do not let them you've got to understand
who you're trying to become believe in your ability to get there to become that
person to understand that to continue to beat yourself up for something in the
past is not going to serve you and so for that very reason let it go growing up you know
I grew up I wasn't the richest but I had a rich family in spirit and in
support and you know standing here with 19 Championships is something I never
thought would happen you know just I went on the courts with just a ball and
a racket and a hope and and that's all I had and I it's inspiring for all you
guys out there that want to do something and want to be the
best that you can be and want to do the best that you can do you just never give
up because you never know what can happen you never know who you can
inspire and who you can influence communicate communicate communicate talk
about who you are cuz your changing day by day moment by moment talk about how
you are changing talk about what you want and what you need talk about your
strengths your weaknesses your fears talk about what you see and what you
know and always always be as honest as you can and as much as you talk listen
listen with your ears listen with your heart listen with your soul and always
be willing to hear something new about the other person and never ever ever use
what you hear as a weapon or tool for dishonorable intentions stay present in
your relationship if you want your relationship to be healthy and stay
healthy then you have to be in it mentally emotionally physically and
spiritually be mindful not to allow outside responsibilities demands and
interests to take your mind and heart and your soul out of the heart of the
relationship if your time and energy and attention is being drawn away
communicate that communicate what you're up to so that the other person knows and
is aware even if they don't like it or don't understand at least they will know
that you're still present the bottom or you went initially to be a an
anchorwoman and then it didn't quite work out yeah I got fired while you
demoted I was demoted they didn't they had a contract so they didn't say goodbye
and then how did you work out to be on a afternoon show where you actually got to
be an interviewer how did that happen well what happened was they this is how
this is what I now know what with age and perspective that many times getting
demoted is an opportunity for something else to show up or getting fired you
know lots of people in over the years of these stories about
the best thing that ever happened to you it puts you in the next best place I was
not a good television reporter I was too emotional I would go out on the stories
and you know then try to take blankets back to the people he was very young you
were you were 21 and I was very also empathetic and and I was always getting
written up for getting myself involved in other people's business and so I was
making $22,000 a year and my best friend Gayle who I met there at the time she
was also working there and she said oh my god you're 22 they're making twenty
two thousand imagine when you're 25

Raising Bilingual Children | 4 Questions ANSWERED #BILINGUALISM - Duration: 11:45.How do you raise bilingual children? And what are some of the do's and don'ts?
In this video, I answer four of the most commonly asked questions. Let's start!
So as I said in the introduction, in this video I will be talking about how to
make your children bilingual. I don't have children myself but I was raised
bilingually by my parents and I grew up speaking French and Portuguese from day
one and I also have experiences of doing research in child language acquisition
and bilingualism as part of my BA and my general university studies.
The reason why I did this video is because there's a lot of misconception around how to
make children bilingual. Frankly, all the points I will be making the video are
kind of common sense but they're still ignored by a lot of people though.
Before we start have a look at the description because I will define the main keywords
that are used in the video just for the sake of clarity.
So the first question I will answer is probably the one that most people will be interested in is
what is the best strategy to raise your children bilingually?
When answering this question a lot of people refer to the one parent one language kind of strategy
which basically means that each parent will speak one language to the children
so for example if in a couple there is an English and French parent then the dad
might want to only speak English to the child and the mum might only want to
speak French to the child even though both parents might have some knowledge
of the two languages or be actually bilingual in both.
The issue with this strategy, and it will make sense when I explain the second strategy, is that the
children might not get enough exposure to the two languages and this is why I
suggest a better strategy which is called the home versus community
language strategy. This strategy has actually been discussed a lot in the
literature of bilingualism but it doesn't seem to be that popular even
though I think to me it makes sense. And in this strategy there is basically one
language that will be spoken in the home and one other language that will be
spoken in the community usually that's the official language.
In my opinion the assumption is that the child doesn't need to speak the community language or
the official language of the country in the home because when he or
she goes out or even later when he or she goes to school they will have enough
exposure of the language so they don't need to have it at home basically
Another thing that is important with this strategy is to make sure that the
weaker language or the language that the child is the least exposed to is also
available to him or her in other aspects of their lives.
What you might want to consider is to make sure that the child has opportunities to use that language
so not just at home but also outside of the home for example some parents decide
to put the children in international schools or bilingual schools or for
example they have a community of friends that speak that language that weaker
language so they can try to maybe have their children spend more time with
these people you know their children or something like that so that can be a
good way for your child to be exposed to the language.
Another way of course can be to actually go on holiday with the child to the country where the weaker
language is spoken to ensure that the child gets as much exposure as possible
don't worry too much about the stronger language because even if you might feel
the child doesn't have enough exposure as long as the child gets some exposure
later in life when they go to school or you know later in life in general they
will definitely get a lot of input from the language so it will find its place in the end.
The second question what if one of the parents are non-native speakers?
A lot of parents or people in general seem to think that if a child is
exposed to non-native input then the child might get a weird accent or they
might not speak the language properly and actually that's a big myth.
For example in my case both my parents speak to me in two languages and for example
my dad French is no his native language Portuguese is and he speaks to me in
French and always has for my mom is a bit similar
she's Portuguese and French but her Portuguese is quite heavily accented and
she still speaks to me in Portuguese and my accent in Portuguese is not weird or anything
because I still had native input from my broader family back in
Portugal and my parents also had Portuguese friends so I still had that
native input with non-native input. I hope that makes sense
I would say though that if both parents try to speak to the child in a
language that is non-native to them or maybe not comfortable to them then I
would question whether it's a good idea to do that because I think as a parent
maybe you might disagree I feel like you want to speak to your child in a
language that is natural to you and that is you know the language of your
heart so I would kind of consider whether it's a good idea to do that
because I feel like in the end you might just end up speaking your native
language to the child I mean it's not a black and white answer to that question
but it's something that you definitely need to consider
And I think it's important for children to really have a need for that language so I would
question whether if you're speaking to your child in your non-native language
then they might just figure it out and then they will feel like oh I don't need
to learn that language because mommy or daddy they already speak another
language and there might be even more comfortable with it so in that case
if you're kind of forcing yourself to speak a language that's not natural to you,
your child will pick it up and maybe this language will just stop being spoken at home I think.
that's why "need" is very important. The only reason why I learned
Portuguese wasn't because my parents forced themselves to speak Portuguese
all the time. The reason is that I had to learn it because otherwise I wouldn't be
able to communicate with my dad who didn't speak French when he arrived in
France so I had to speak Portuguese to him in order to communicate I also had
to speak with my broader family so all this stuff kind of triggered this need
because if I couldn't speak Portuguese then I couldn't communicate with people
around me or some people around me. So if you don't feel like you can give that
native input to your child then I would definitely advise as I said earlier to
put that child that poor child in situations where they will absolutely
need to use that language in order to achieve whatever they're doing their activity or their task.
The third question are there any big don'ts to raise children
bilingually? And the short answer is yes and the longer answer is the following.
Contrary to popular belief children don't just pick up language like that
think of it children get exposed to a language for
many many years until they actually are able
to communicate freely and comfortably in that language and until they reach
linguistic maturity. In fact, they require a lot of input repetition and they make
a lot of mistakes. They also start with very basic vocabulary they might use the
grammar wrong but it's normal they are only children. As humans, we only reach
adult like fluency when we're about probably 15 or 16 or even later for some
other people. So what you need to take from this is that input and repetition
and exposure is super super important. So don't just think that children they just
learn it you know it's not magic.
Another big don't is don't put your child infront of the TV and the radio and just expect them to pick up the language.
That will not work. Babies or children in general or human beings you know we're
social beings need to communicate in order to function in society in general
so if there is no actual interaction or communication with the child then there
won't be any bilingualism. However having some exposure to movies a bit later on
so they still get some regular exposure is good but it can't be the only thing.
Another thing not to do is to force that language on the child. If you feel like
your child is not picking up the language or is not speaking it or
refuses to speak it don't make it a frustrating experience because it won't
help anyone the child will feel it if it's forced on them and that will just
lead you nowhere. Instead think of other ways you could kind of implement
bilingualism or the other language in the everyday life again the activities I
mentioned earlier in the video.
Last don't that I want to talk about is do not freak out if you notice that your child starts to mix up the two languages
so for example the sentence will be in English but one or two words will be in
French for example. Do not freak out about this all bilinguals ever have
always done it. It's a perfectly normal thing and it's part of the language
development. Eventually, the child will be able to differentiate between the two
languages and they will certainly not end up mixing them up when they are
older or when they are adults. For example when I was younger (I use myself
as an example because I've been there) but you can ask any other bilinguals or
notice other bilinguals when they actually
speak to monolinguals or people that speak only one of their languages they
will not mix up they will notice that the person will not understand the other
language so they will stop using it eventually and the reason is that
children are very smart you know they're not stupid and they will eventually know
that if they use the wrong language with certain people they will not get their
message across or their needs won't be met they will
pick up on that eventually so do not worry about this it's perfectly normal
and it should not be discouraged it's not a bad thing at all.
A fourth question that I often see on the Internet is how many languages can
children speak or learn when they are younger and the answer is there isn't
really a limit well in a way. Obviously it will be more difficult for a child to
learn ten languages when they're young because learning and understanding ten
languages is a lot of work for a child so the issue there would be that if the
child is exposed to too many languages it will be near impossible for them to
master all of them because they won't have enough input to actually learn the
language and as i said earlier a child needs a lot of input to actually know
and learn the languages because language learning starts with a lot of repetition
and patience and you know just a lot of work.
so I would not encourage trying to teach your child too many languages because it might be that in the end the
child will not be able to learn any of them because they won't have enough exposure.
Instead, actually focus on the languages that you and your partner
speak or the language that is spoken in the community. In some countries for
example some children will learn four languages when they're young and that's
fine because the language is naturally present in their environment.
If the languages are not very present the environment then I wonder what is the
point of having so many languages and also as I said you need to make sure there
is enough exposure so unless you can manage that don't do too much try to do less and well
So to conclude this video the three things you need to remember is
that exposure need and input are extremely important. Without exposure the
child cannot learn the language because the child is not exposed to the language
without the need the child will eventually not want to speak the
language or they won't see the need to learn it
because they can use another language that is more common or more natural in
their environment. And input is, like exposure, making sure that the child is
spoken to because otherwise they will not develop their other language.
So that's it for the video if you have any questions or comments feel free to leave
a comment below and I will see you later bye

Bubble and Squeak- An old fashioned comfort food and how to make it. - Duration: 8:26.I'm chef Mike Moses and welcome to my kitchen today we are going to make a
meal that actually makes noise mostly vegetables but it's got a lot of bubble
and squeak and I've got that coming up
if you like this video please don't forget to give me a thumbs up and
subscribe if you'd like to see more of these I post new videos every week right
here and if there's something you would like to see in particular don't forget
to leave me a comment in the section below bubble and squeak it's an English
dish but I'm gonna put my twist on it instead of using cabbage I'm going to
use Brussels sprouts and also some mashed potatoes and adds more flavor I'm
going to cook the potatoes in the stock and my Brussels sprouts in the stock as
well before we combine it all up and fry it and make it delicious all right as
you know we have to get our mise en place ready so let's go to the potatoes
we'll peel those we'll peel the sprouts and we'll boil everything up
okay the potatoes are all peeled we'll slice them up get them ready for the pot
to boil sliced potato will boil faster will cook faster because there's more
surface area to cook and I didn't have time to make vegetable stock this week
so I'm just going to cover them in vegetable stock
seize them up for the little salt and pepper and put those on a boil until
they are fork tender all those are boiling away let's get our Brussels
sprouts ready and for this dish I've got about 20 Brussels sprouts peel off the
bottom take off the outer leaves because they'll tend to be discolored and
hardened and one little trick to make a Brussels sprout cook quicker is to put
an X right on the bottom right by the root and that X will help it absorb the
liquid and boil a little faster I need these to prepare and get on the burner
so we take our Brussels sprouts put them in the pot and we are going to cook
these in chicken stock remember flavor lots of layers of flavor you just want
enough chicken stock so that they're floating and we'll put those on a high
heat over the salt I'm also gonna chop up one onion which will be rendered down
with bacon to give it a little more flavor our potatoes are now boiled so
I'll I'll drain these Brussels sprouts are probably about five or six minutes
away so what I'm going to do now is take my bacon and to help it render down I
just have a 1/2 pound of bacon here it's gonna cut it into small pieces I got
lucky with this bacon there's a lot of meat in it it's gonna render up nice and
crispy all right boiled and drain and it's very important
that the potatoes sort of remain dry so that they they fry up in the pan and a
lot of the squeaking comes from the Brussels sprouts now just give these a
rough mash I'm not gonna add any fat to them I'm not gonna add any seasoning cuz
we did that when we were boiling them and while those potatoes are getting
mashed we shall get the bacon on to render turn your heat up to high clean
your cutting board and continue to mash your potatoes I know I know I should
have used a bigger bowl but I just want to get the mashed with some texture
because in my bigger bowl I'm gonna had the Brussels sprouts all right I'd say
they're mashed up pretty good now set these aside let them cool down a little
I would say the Brussels sprouts are done I'll drain those in the colander
while the bacon is starting to render the bacon fat helps the potatoes hold
together a little better it also gives the entire dish more flavor you can make
this completely vegan if you like and not include any bacon well what's life
without bacon really this will take anywhere from five to ten five to ten
minutes always keep an eye on your bacon because once the fat starts to render
out it almost it's almost like deep-frying and you never ever turn your
back on a deep fryer no seasoning yet because the bacon has salt in it once I
add the onion I might add a little bit of salt a little bit of pepper that's
just to start building on the flavors now we're in down to one pan this is the
pan we're gonna make the bubble of squeakin as well okay my bacon is
rendering down very nicely so it's time to add the onions
you just want to stir these around until the onions are all cooked shouldn't take
very long you can see nice golden flavors my Brussels sprouts are done
what we wanted to do is give them a nice chop nice and tender
okay the sprouts have been chopped my onions are almost caramelized I think
it's time to put stuff together don't you alright
so for the bubble and squeak I'll take all our sprouts and once the sprouts are
in the bowl you want to see something just a little bit of salt a little bit
of pepper and now we shall introduce our bacon and our bacon fat take your frying
pan handy and mix that all up and then start adding potatoes the secret to this
bubble and squeak is that your potatoes are dry that way they form a very nice
crust the moisture from the sprouts and the fat from the bacon makes a really
nice flavorful dish as you can see it's got lots of color our pan that has
already had the bacon fat in it and rendered down the bacon is going to be
the pan that we cook our bubble and squeak in start taking a bubble squeak
and scoops add it to the pan level everything out
a little seasoning on the top
fresh-ground pepper and once you start to see the steam come up reduce your
heat down to medium high it's going to sit like this unpunched unstirred then
let it go probably for about 20 to 25 minutes so that really nice crust gets
built up on the bottom now from the top it doesn't look any different let me
take it put it on our plate and that's my tank bubble and squeak just for you
if you liked this video please don't forget to give me a thumbs up and that

Savannah Real Estate Market Report | Q1 2018 - Duration: 4:47.Are you wondering what the Savannah real-estate market is doing? Well that's
what we're talking about today and we are starting right now.
(snores) Oh my gosh, I'm sorry. I fell asleep because market statistics are boring. But
how can we talk about what the market is doing without going over statistics? I
know! I'll show you instead. Am I too late for
the open house? Am I too late for the open house? Am I too late for the
open house? My agent said I better get over here pronto. (muffled) But seriously
folks, it's a seller's market here in Savannah almost everywhere. A balanced
market is six months worth of inventory, meaning that if we did not put any new
houses on the market starting today it would take six months to sell every
single house that's currently on the market for sale. That's a balanced market
where we'd have an equal number of sellers and buyers that are out looking
for homes. Well in our market, overall we've got about one month worth of
inventory. The only place that has more than that as Tybee Island which has
about three months worth of inventory, which is still a seller's market. But get
a load of these statistics. In Savannah alone we have one month worth of
inventory. In Pooler it's 0.89 months meaning if we didn't put any houses on
the market starting today in three and a half weeks we would sell every single
house for sale in Pooler! In Rincon we have .81 month's worth of
inventory. Even Richmond Hill, which is super desirable, has 1.4
months worth of inventory. So now you know why when you go to look at a house
for sale that's listed at $200,000 there are 15 buyers they're doing the same
thing. So let's go over some really quick statistics just to satisfy your
curiosity. (stats on 2x normal speed) In all five of the areas that we're comparing - Savannah, Pooler, Rincon,
Richmond Hill, and Tybee, 23% of all of the homes sold in Q1 2018
was new construction. That means almost a quarter of all the homes being sold are
brand spankin new. But I do have good news!
Paula Deen's house is still available. It's only eight point seven five million
dollars but it's a little on the small side at 28,000 square
feet. So what does this mean? It's clearly a seller's market, but interest rates
have been rising steadily. A year ago the average interest rate was... 3.75 percent.
Now they're hovering in the mid 4's. People still have to buy houses but not
with the urgency that we've seen for the past few years. So if you're thinking of
selling your house this is a good time to do it because I don't expect this
crazy demand to continue for too much longer. Nobody can predict the future but
this can't continue indefinitely. We're going to see it shift from a very heavily
slanted seller's market back to something a little more reasonable where
we have more equal demand between buyers and sellers. I hope you enjoyed your Q1

Tokyo DisneySea: 3 Hours in DisneySea for FREE | Toy Story Mania, Fantasmic and MORE - Duration: 6:02.Hey guys, it's Linh Today let's go to Tokyo Disneysea!
I was given 2 tickets for a kashikiri event in Disneysea
Kashikiri means that the whole park was rented out so the park was closed earlier for normal
customer on that day After that we could go inside the park and
play for 3 hours from 7:30PM to 10:30PM.
To get to Disneysea, I went to Maihama station then changed to Resort gateway station for
the Disney Resort Line This is a special monorail with Disney designs
goes around Tokyo Disney Resort With this train you can easily go to Disneyland,
Disneysea and other hotels in this area Here is our ticket and we got free original
keychains as well Now we are going to go inside and we'll
try to do as much as we can in 3 hours Instead of a castle like in Disneyland, the
big mountain is the center of Disney Sea From here we turned to the left side to go
to our first destination which is the Tower of Terror
Because the organizer of this event rented out the whole park, there were not that many
people so we could move really fast in the line
However, because we could move so fast, I didn't really have time to film properly
or even adjust my camera's brightness Anyway, this attraction is designed to look
like hotel but it's actually a drop tower I didn't really know what to expect so I
screamed a lot during the sudden drops Still I must admit that the view during the
drop was amazing
Our second destination is Toy Story Mania I think it's the most popular ride in Tokyo
DisneySea so even though I've been here several times, I had never had the chance
to try this attraction That's why it was really awesome that we
could go inside in just 30 minutes If you go to Disneysea, you should rush to
get the fastpass for this attraction first because it runs out very fast
This attraction is 3D experience and you will board a vehicle that spins around throughout
the ride and what you have to do is to shoot at the targets appearing on the screen and
try to score as high as you can It was really fun and I can totally understand
why it was so popular
After getting out of Toy Story Mania, I ran as fast as I could to see the parade
I'm glad I did that because the parade was much better than I thought
It was actually beyond my imagination and if you get to watch it, you will understand
what I mean Anyway, I was only able to record a part of
the parade so I hope you will enjoy it
The next destination is Mermaid Lagoon and it's also my most favorite attraction in
Disneysea The musical show in the theater there is something
you should not miss if you visit this park It's actually prohibited to film inside
but I found some videos of the show on Youtube so I will put that in the description box
You will be able to see Ariel sing and swim around in the air with her beautiful dance
moves
Our last destination was the Journey to the Center of the Earth
This ride is a high-speed adventure that includes sharp turns and sudden drops inside the mountain
and the view during the ride was also incredible We were running out of time so I couldn't
film much It was almost 10:30 by the time we got out
of this attraction so we had to leave the park
So in 3 hours, we were able to ride 3 different attractions, watched the parade and watched
1 musical show We couldn't have done this if it wasn't
a private event I had a great evening but I also was too hungry
because I didn't eat anything and just focused on playing as much as I could
Let's say goodbye to DisneySea for now and if you enjoyed this video, don't forget
to leave a thumbs-up Subscribe and turn on the bell for more videos

Denise O'Neil Green, VP Equity and Community Inclusion, on the employee survey - Duration: 1:38.[ music ]
well at ryerson part of my mandate as Vice-President Equity and Community
Inclusion is to help to ensure that everyone can bring their full selves to
work and it will be important for everyone to complete this survey to
share information about their experiences
so surveys are very exciting although I'm sure most people don't think they are
but what's exciting about this kind of survey is that we begin to learn more about our employees
experiences and as a leader I'll be able to use that along with different
partners across campus to develop different initiatives that can be very
useful in engaging our employees and making their experiences such that they
can bring their whole selves to work
so as an executive leader I think it's very important that we use this
information otherwise what is the point of doing the survey to begin with it's
important that we use this information to benchmark where we are and to be able
to see where we need to go so I think it's very important that everyone takes
advantage of this because it'll help us shape our workplace and please make sure
you do it complete the survey

It's Raining It's Pouring | Learn About Seasons | Educational - Duration: 2:43.It's Raining It's Pouring The old man is Snoring
He went to bed to rest his head and he didn't get up till the morning.
The rain clouds are shouting The flowers are sprouting
Their leaves are green it's time for spring No more time for pouting.
It's Spring!
It's summer it's sunny The whole world seems funny
We run and play no work today We lay out on our tummy
It's Summer
It's windy it's chilly My costume is silly
It's autumn time and all seems fine It's windy and it's chilly
It's Fall
It's snowing It's Snowing!
The cold wind is blowing!
It's quite a site, my breath is white!
Winter time is showing!
It's Winter!
