Bright Moonlight Path Watercolor Painting Tutorial | Step By Step Commentary - Duration: 9:12.
Hey everyone,
today I'll be showing how I created
this bright moonlight path
watercolor painting.
First I marked off a horizontal line, in pencil.
I masked off the top section of the page with masking tape.
But you could probably do it after the next step.
Which is marking off the center point,
of the top and the bottom section of the page.
I marked the bottom points, one inch from each side.
Then connected to the top, slightly from the center point.
At an angle.
I outlined three total lines, on each side from the center point.
I taped another piece of watercolor paper over the bottom section of the page.
Then I used a compass to outline the moon in the center of the horizon.
I used masking fluid and an old small paintbrush to fill in the moon.
But then I noticed there was still a little bit of blue paint on the paintbrush.
So I had to clean that off and finish the job.
Then I added tiny stars all around the sky.
And then I let the masking fluid dry.
I used a large mop brush to wet the top of the paper in clean water.
Then I used a smaller, yet still large brush to add white paint around the moon.
Then I diluted that brush in some clean water.
And continued in the same motion around the moon.
Diluting it and spreading the paint out.
I painted in the top corners of the sky.
Using the same brush that had been cleaned.
Yet I started to use purple, blue and black.
Using the darker colors for the outer edge and then blending that together.
I had a little bit of trouble figuring out how to blend a circle around the moon.
As well as the colors.
But I always thought to try painting in general, because I thought it would be challenging for me.
Using the colors, because I'm used to a gray-scale with sketch drawing.
As well as I hoped that it would help strengthen some patience.
Haha...
I continue to build up the sky colors.
Blending the darkest to lightest.
Then using grey to white around the moon.
Let fully dry.
And using a gum eraser, (not actual chewing gum by the way) remove all of the dried masking fluid.
I used diluted white acrylic paint and a small paint brush to add splatter stars across the sky.
By tapping that paint brush against another paint brush.
Then I repeated that process with Daniel Smith, luminescent watercolor paint.
"iridescent moon stone"
Using a clean round brush, I wet the entire area of the moon.
Then I used white, grey and black paint and mixed together in different ratios.
Dropping in it all throughout the moon.
I began building up the moon layers.
Then using a tiny brush, I outlined the moon in grey.
Then dropping various colors from the same shade throughout the moon.
I used the tiny brush to slightly blend the colors together.
I removed the masking tape a little bit too early.
I was a little eager to connect the lines that I didn't finish earlier.
And I place the ruler on wet paint.
Haha, oops.
Connect all the path lines, at an angle.
Using a large flat brush, I wet both the left and the right land areas.
Then using a large round brush, I blended together dark green and browns.
I painted in the bright paths with lines of pink, blue, purple and the right-center yellow.
Using a tiny round brush, and black paint.
And paper towel to keep the paint a little bit dry on the brush.
Use tiny strokes as well.
I began painting in the trees along the sides of the path.
Moving closer to the bottom of the page, I began to make the trees a little bit larger.
I also used dark green throughout the closer trees.
I painted in the moon's reflection.
Using a similar technique in the center areas of the trees.
Using the moon stone, luminescent paint.
Let fully dry and then remove the masking tape.

Don't Look Back In Anger --- But Look How Far You've Come! - Duration: 6:42.
Don't forget to look back.
No anger like Oasis but see how far you've come.
I'm sorry for making you think of Oasis, why are you thinking about business.
You can get it out of your head. Don't look back in anger.
I heard you say that. You're running your business, you likely have been for a while. If you're anything like me,
you spent quite a lot of time thinking about the business you're trying to build and grow
looking forward to necessary part.
But building your business, that's how you think about what you need to do next
and that's how you keep yourself focused on making sure you do to those things that you're doing mixed.
How can you head towards your goal if you haven't got your goal in mind?
You won't mind and the science is clear. A lot of my teaching about strategy and having a vision
of where you want to go is very clear. You need to know where you want to go you need to think about it some
so you can head there and so you can think about what needs to happen on the way.
And of course, you probably know I'm a business coach for tradies
and you probably know that one of the first things we do is think about where we want to go.
We draw a picture of what business you want to build in the future
and we make a plan of how we're going to get from where we are today to that beautiful thing that you want.
So we're very forward-looking all the time. We spend a lot of time looking forward
thinking about what to do next. I said, we then, we don't think about what we need to do next.
We think about what you need to do next
and I leave you alone to do it while I help you do it or I help you find resources
to help you do it. I'm the coach, I can do anything.
But apart from that, we make a plan for how we're going to get you there and I spend a lot of my time with you
thinking about what you need to be doing and helping you do it.
And this future focus, like I've said is great and it's necessary
if you want to be the person who gets things done and if you want to move towards your goal.
So that's great.
But it can have a negative pernicious effect as well.
When the going gets a bit tough
and your goal that's so motivating at first seems impossibly distant,
it doesn't motivate you like it needs to and it can make the going even tougher.
When you're doing something difficult
or something didn't really go to plan properly or something came out of the blue
and gave you a smack in the face,
then that distant goal isn't helping you much.
A much of the psychology in the literature and some of those smug f*ckers on Facebook
who are already successful, much of what they talked about is breaking goals down so that you've got a goal
three years ago away, that's you're 5 million but this year you goes a million which means that this month
he goals 80,000 all that stuff breaking your goals and that's all valid
and it has effect on your brain of giving you immediate reward when you have some small success
but it really only helps when you are making a bit of progress and sometimes in business,
you don't make any progress for a little while. You get stuck or you get smashed by something
or something happens and then you feel like you stuck and no goals and looking forward
will help you feel better and it helped me get motivated again.
And sometimes what we find ourselves doing in business coaching is having a pause
and looking back and reflecting on how far we've come.
We usually have come a distance. We usually have made progress. We usually have improved the situation
and we look at the strategy and we tick off things that we've achieved and things that we've made better
and we look at the revenue and see if that's increased and we look at the gross margins and see if they're better
and we look at the net profits every month
and see if they're better. I have my clients, if I can plot a graph monthly of revenue,
gross profit and net profit and see if the lines go up and if they're going up,
we can see that we're making that progress.
I ask people to think about how much money there is around and if cash flow feels a bit better.
I get people to think about how many hours a week they're working, whether they feel a bit less
under pressure to work. I ask people to think about how stressed they feel and whether they feel any better.
I'm looking at halfback and thinking about how far you've come.
It's really helpful.
I'm particularly helpful when it's a bit hard.
So let's be honest. If you have ambitious goal like I do, there'll be times when it feels like it's not really working
and you wonder if you should give it up.
Usually you shouldn't
and it's just because you feel bad so a tool like looking back and seeing how far you've come
and realizing that you're on a journey although there's a long way still to go.
You've actually come quite a long way already. It's really helpful in terms of your motivation,
really helpful in terms of renewing your determination to keep pushing on through that difficult bit.
It's worse isn't it if you look around on social media and you see how much better than you everyone else
seems to be doing, "I certainly get that". There seem to be millions
of business coaches out there making loads, more money than me. Driving Ferraris,
traveling around the world, having lovely holidays.
It's important that I do this to myself and look back and see 'how I was a couple of years ago
and where I am now, realised I've made progress and things are better. I'm not worrying too much
about what those other guys are doing'.
So in my experience,
it helps an awful lot
to do that progress check and that really would look.
You don't have to be working with me to do this even though if I'm your coach.
That's precisely what we'll do from time to time.
If you're not working with me, do what I've suggested. Make a plan, write it down, tip things off,
pause and look at the your books and look at how much money you were making a year ago or two years ago.
Think about how hard you're working.
Of course, if you'd like to do it faster or if you'd like to put some structure into how are you growing your business,
then get in touch with me and I'll see if I can help you.
You can book a 10-minute chat and if we like each other from there, or book a full hour before you have to decide
whether you buy any coaching.
I'm going now. See you later and don't look back in anger.

This Is the Secret Behind Meghan Markle's Super Straight Hair Today - Duration: 2:49.
When Meghan Markle isn't rocking her signature low bun, she usually opts for a bouncy blowout
But on Monday, she rocked a silky smooth look for her latest royal outing. Meghan and Prince Harry visited Loughborough University on Monday — some 100 miles north of London — where they met with honorees from Coach Core, a program that trains young people to become coaches and encourages the next generation of athletes
The Duchess of Sussex, 37, opted to wear her hair down and straight (even as she took part in a passing drill!), resulting in one of her sleekest hairstyles to date
Meghan's former hairstylist in London previously revealed to PEOPLE that although the royal naturally has "beautiful curls," she undergoes intensive salon treatments to manage her mane
"Meghan came to see me at least twice for keratin treatments," Theonie Kakoulli at Nicky Clarke said, adding: "It's great for people with naturally curly hair like Meghan, it takes the frizz out and makes it more manageable — she said it made a real difference
" The treatment, which costs $350 and takes between two to four hours, involves the stylist applying keratin (a protein that occurs naturally in your hair) and then using heat to seal it in
It may not agree with London's rainy season, but Meghan has worn her hair straight on several occasions before, including when the royal couple honored fallen Australian and New Zealand veterans during a dawn service to mark Anzac Day in the U
K. in April. It also appears to be her go-to sporty look – Meghan also went with straight hair when she visited Bath, England, with Harry in April for the U
K. Team Trials for the 2018 Invictus Games, to be held in Sydney in October. "She has really beautiful hair," explained Kakoulli, who saw Meghan at Clarke's Mayfair salon in the summer of 2016, just before it was revealed that she was dating Prince Harry
"Her hair was in such lovely condition, and you could tell that she really looks after it and that she was proud of it – it's really stunning

Why Having Haters in Business is a Good Thing - Duration: 4:09.
Are you afraid of getting your first hater?
If you're an entrepreneur
and you're putting content out there
and getting more visible,
the fear of haters might be palpable.
In today's video I wanna talk to you about
how you can approach this fear of haters
a little bit differently.
As you get more visible in your business,
the possibility of pissing somebody off is, well, real.
And the fear of pissing somebody off
or ruffling someone's feathers can hold a lot of us back.
See, Hilda, that voice in your head who tells you you suck,
that inner critic with all of her nasty messages,
one of the versions of Hilda I call, "I Shouldn't Hilda."
You see, "I Shouldn't Hilda" is obsessed
with what everybody thinks about you
and she wants you to be obsessed with how you're perceived.
And when you do that you start behaving kind of robotically.
See, it flies in the face of what we're being told to do.
Be visible, be out there, be opinionated, be authentic,
be vulnerable but at the same time
be polished and professional.
How do you do all those things all at once?
I find it very difficult.
The truth is most of all of that be this, be that, be this,
be that is about worrying about
what other people are gonna think.
Yes, we're in business
and we don't want to turn off everybody.
And I am not inviting you to be hateful.
But what I am saying is that haters are gonna hate.
Taylor was right.
If we're obsessing about the possibility of a hater,
not enjoying our content,
then we're never really gonna push the envelope.
I want to flip the script
and really look at this from a different way.
The way that we do it in my coaching practice
is we actually celebrate our haters.
We look forward to the opportunity to have what we call,
the Hater Dance.
Oh yes, there's a Hater Dance.
So let me explain what the heck this is.
Look, when you have a hater, it kinda sucks.
It doesn't feel good to get that piece of feedback
or that book review or their comments
on your YouTube channel.
Yeah, I got one of those this week
on the kiss my typos video.
It's pretty exciting.
But most people are not excited by that.
Most people are freaked out by the fact that they've got
a negative review.
And they feel that they've gotta figure out the perfect way
to respond to that piece of negativity
and give it all of their time and attention
and they obsess about anybody
not finding everything they do really great.
If you do that I Shouldn't Hilda wins.
Because now obsessing about that one person
who didn't dig your content means
you're not spending all of your time and energy
on all of the other people
who might dig your next piece of content.
So the Hater Dance is this, it's very simple and ridiculous.
A lot of what I do is ridiculous on purpose.
The Hater Dance is whenever one of my coaching clients
gets a hater I invite them to call me,
to let me know immediately.
We're gonna hop on camera and dance it out
like we're Meredith Grey and Cristina Yang
from Grey's Anatomy.
Because getting a hater is worthy of celebration.
I'm gonna say that again.
Getting a hater is worthy of celebration.
You see when you have your haters,
it's a sign that you're visible.
It's a sign that you're not just visible
but your word is getting out about you.
It means that your content is getting in front of eyes
that maybe it's not really meant for and that's okay
because you're shaking the world by its shoulders.
You're saying something, you're showing up,
you're making an impact.
Isn't that why we got into business in the first place?
So I invite you whenever you experience a hater,
to instead of obsessing about
how you're supposed to respond to it,
don't freakin' respond.
Let it go and go and dance it out with a best friend.
Like truly,
just celebrate the fact that you are so visible
and so out there that somebody felt the need to tell you
how much they didn't care for what you did.
It actually isn't fatal and you'll be perfectly fine.
Once you shift your focus to the fact that that means
you're doing something that matters.
Thank you so much for tuning into this video.
My name is Coach Jennie and if you haven't yet,
please subscribe to this channel and click that little bell
so that you get a notification the next time I drop a video.
And be sure to watch them all the way to the end

you're never going to do something important
that I was meaning to say there.
Hi!
How's it going?
- [Man] Not bad (mutters).
- Oh yeah absolutely, do your thing.
And if you ever need some more help,
let me know I am here for, what?
The possibility of pissing somebody off grows infinitely.

The Reason Why Asians and Indians are So Good at Math - Duration: 6:54.
math
that thing that Indian Asian kids seem to be really good at
now contrary
to what you may think
Indians aren't born with mathematical proficiency
because
that's just not how genetics works
okay
fortunately for you
as a former Indian kid
I can provide you with in-depth
insight
into why
Indian and Asian kids
are so good at math
enjoy
now for the
rest of the video I'm gonna be referring to Indian Asian people
as just Asian
people
because India is in Asia
and I know
Russia is also in Asia
but we just
don't count them okay
now that we've got geography on the way
let's get to the
math
now since Asian kids aren't born with math skills
this means that there
are some Asians
who are not good at math
lies
but for the majority who are good at math
it's because they were bred that way
Asian parents
especially immigrants
want their kids to do well
and become high paid engineers
doctors
and business people
so as an Asian kid
even if you get the
straight A's
this happens
school is too easy
it was at this moment he knew he
and because Asian parents feel this way
they send their kids to kumon
which is basically a math school where Asian kids go after regular school
to learn and practice more math
it's a nightmare
kumon even gives you
homework on top of the homework that you already got from regular school
monsters
and if you think that the madness ends when summer vacation starts
boy are you
mistaken this is because
while the non Asian kids are off playing sports
going
art camp for doing whatever the heck else kids do for fun
the Asian kids
are still going to Kumon
or being forced to do some other productive activity
like
mastering the violin the piano
in my case
my dad made me do
four pages from a math book everyday
before I could do anything else for fun
now four pages doesn't seem that bad
well that is
until you realize
that each
page had 25 algebra problems
for a grand total of
100 problems
and also the I was
in the fifth grade
meaning
that I wouldn't be learning algebra in school
for another two years
ridiculous
now on top of the explicitly
math related stuff like kumon and math
books when you have Asian parents
they have the tendency to take any random thing
no matter how innocent it
may be
and make it on math problem
take the scene from fresh off the boat for
example
if this jukebox uses 50 kilowatts of power at 11 cents per
kilowatt and a 3-minute song cost 25 cents
how much money do we lose per song
two and a half cents
oh man
and this is why I never plug in the jukebox
now if you think
this is a joke or some overdramatized stereotype
meant to entertain
you are mistaken
this is not a game
this was my life
every day
millions of Asian kids
are subjugated to these tests
Oh maaaaaaan
Asian kids can't even escape the math madness
by playing video games
that's right
my first video game when I was six
was a
math video game
basically there was this astronaut outside a space station
and in order to keep him from drifting way
into the black abyss of space
I had to solve
addition problems
can you imagine the stress that caused me
this little astronaut survival
was
dependent on my ability
to solve math problems
just imagine
um houston we have we have a problem over
oh crap what is it

Asian parents make their kids do extra math
and you may be thinking
why dont the kids
just refuse to do the math
Oh silly white person
that's not an
option okay
let me show you what happens if an Asian kid refuses to do math
or does math incorrectly
roll the clip
now that clip can be hard to watch
which is
why it went viral in 2017
all the white people were up in arms saying things
like
this is terrible
I can't imagine a parent doing this
meanwhile
all the Asian people were like
what are you talking about

the slap at the end isn't a common thing

I'm
kind of thankful that my parents raised me like this
even though it was kind of
a pain in the

where I am today

Why dApps need a decentralised database instead of using existing DB? - Duration: 0:29.
DApp stands for decentralized application.
For an application to be a dApp,
it must be decentralized from the software to the database.
If it's not decentralized in any of these components, it's not truly decentralized.
Therefore, all dApps need a decentralized database to truly be decentralized.

Galápagos: Plants & Animals | JEOPARDY! - Duration: 2:45.
- [Alex Trebek] The Galapagos: Plants and Animals.
- Galapagos: Plants and Animals, for 200.
- [Alex Trebek] Alright.
- A 2013 study on diving mammals,
like these Galapagos sea lions.
Found that they contain a positively charged myoglobin.
It's a protein that allows them to store this gas.
Which permits them to stay under water longer.
As they hunt for their fish prey.
- [Alex Trebek] William.
- What is oxygen?
- [Alex Trebek] Right.
- Four.
- With eyes that are adapted for it's hunting time
when small fish rise to the surface to feed on plankton.
The swallow tailed gull is the only gull
that can be described by this nine letter adjective.
- [Alex Trebek] Rob.
- What is nocturnal?
- [Alex Trebek] That's the word.
- 600, please.
- Over 60,000 acres of the Galapagos islands have been
set aside for beneficial crops like
this grass of the genus Saccharum.
This primitive, but very effective press,
is helping to extract the juices.
Go Jimmy, go Jimmy...
(audience laughs)
- [Alex Trebek] Nancy.
- What is sugarcane?
- [Alex Trebek] Yup.
- Galapagos: Plants and Animals for 800.
(electronic sound)
- [Alex Trebek] Answer there the Daily Double.
(audience applause)
And you're in the lead.
- 1,200.
- [Alex Trebek] 12 for an even 6,000.
Here am I, with the clue.
- "Darwin's finches writ large", is how Carl Safina
describes this soaring bird.
The wave type here in the Galapagos is
the only truly tropical type and it has evolved
distinct markings that help provide its name.
- What's a gull?
- [Alex Trebek] No, what is the albatross?
You're close.
Alright, let's take a look at the last clue, shall we?
- Portulaca, which is this type of plant,
named for it's water storing tissues.
Will turn a bright yellow in the rainy season.
The land iguanas that feast on this plant
will eagerly approach visitors.
If they happen to be wearing yellow.
- [Alex Trebek] Rob.
- What is moss?
- [Alex Trebek] No, William or Nancy?
(signal beeps)
- Those are succulents. Succulents. Alright.
- Galapagos sea lions are thigmotactic.
Which means they thrive on bodily contact.
So if they become solitary, they tend to deteriorate.
The ideal social group then, is this one.
With an exotic name, it could be as many
as 30 females headed by one single bull.
