Hello is Ricardo and welcome to x4 foundations
now I did do a small video a live video her first play yesterday which was quite
eventful should we say but now I thought I'd get in there and have a good look at
how what you do to get started so here I am on the station here's my lovely ship
the elite Vanguard and look at that fighter class lovely big engine on the
back so of swept-back wings you know it looks it's meant for speed it looks like
a fighter craft it also looks exceptionally basic and it is you know
you're gonna have a seat you're gonna have an engine you're gonna have a gun
and a minimal amount of cargo capacity now I'm new to the X Games okay so I'm
not like a lot of people out there who have played them all the way through its
inception and apparently through the really bad x3 whatever I'm not here to
judge that I'm looking at it now and I think yeah it's really good
so the rig I'm playing this on I got my X 50 to say tech joystick controller
that's great
gtx 1070 i7 processor third you go back around and there we are having a look
around inside this ship what we got we got a transporter looking out the window
you've got what looks to be like a very quiet type of spaceport nothing much
happening all the ships go to the landing pads and then go down underneath
them and didn't either so they opens up and goes into the the receptacle below
them here we've got the pilot seat by looking at it and then clicking on use
we get into the piloting on my map here for some reason is rotating now if you
have that problem it might be because you've got that little Noddy on the side
of the Saitek controller twisted down to the middle or bottom I never use this my
plainly dangerous but that's what's caused the map to
Tate so if you've got that problem move the settings right the way to the top
and it should stop now have a quick little look around in the carrion
facility we got this little fella here saying hello you ever look across the
edge see the scale of it I mean the lighting is great the graphics are great
I'm not playing this on Ella I'm playing all this on high I've recently got a 4k
monitor Black Friday from Amazon this a sous one so I'm still getting to grips
with the resolutions that this can do of course I've been playing in 1080p prior
to this and I gotta say it's night and day
but obviously the strain on the computer and the graphics card and that much more
all the plants making it look like a saw there that Airport spaceport sort of a
fetch I think it's great you've got these travel acres these red travel is
that when you step on them allow you to move quicker in whatever direction
they're moving in so over here we've got a panel that we can issue commands from
and amend our ship so you click on that take a good look several options there
so again so the maps not rotating now this is the map of the space station you
can zoom in zoom out rotate it everything looks fantastic we'll come
back to that a little bit later but the map seems to be an integral part of this
game and ego-self the spent an awful lot of time on it and quite rightly so I
mean it looks nice the game looks swish it looks refined now I'm not saying it's
not without its bugs I mean on my live stream yesterday it did crash twice that
might be more to do with the fact of the resolution I had it set to and me
messing about so I'm going to reserve all comments on that I mean hey all
games are allowed to out there teething troubles aren't they we're not back in
the days of the old 48k spectrum when the game was the game and it went
through rigorous testing so my quick nose to the options on the left-hand
side of this screen different views
again the ability feature zoom in and zoom out on certain areas of your
location and explore the map from this view so I saw blue hue around it I do
like that okay so here we go we we've got a different view now
selecting through different types of ships and weapons and guns and all the
rest of it so I've got an elite Vanguard but the other ships and you get a little
bit of blurb about them here you can purchase them from here should you have
money no I haven't got any money I'm just starting out having taken off yet
well not on this game anyway so you displayed the stats and it's quite easy
I suppose then to look through and compare the stats speed shield strength
and the like from the different types of Fighters and of course you get that nice
graphical representation of it that's what its gonna look like so that's my
ship I out there the only two Vanguard
you know it is one of the basic models so what you expect you're starting out
right everyone's got to start somewhere as you do more missions and they'll like
do some trading you're gonna be able to trade up I mean that just looks like a
flying brick I don't know what you think so far what are your comments what you
think of the game graphically inside the station I think it looks fantastic
flight dynamics of what it's going to be all about I think as well here we got
some freighter ships like freighters again not built for combat but with
weapons and then we've got a mining ship well no surprise what that's gonna be
for that's gonna be from mining now as you know from people who watch my
streams and my videos I'm not a great big fan of mining and I'm being dragged
into that and the leaked dangerous kicking and screaming with the big
mining updates but now we'll see if we can change that with this game as well
as there's probably going to be many to meet as there's such a focus on mining
in this game as well so it's going to be a huge game dynamic so we can also
transport ourselves directly to the ship with the ships in board transporter and
now we're gonna head on over to the pilot seat and we're gonna use it so
here we are we're using it so pressing H on the keyboard brings up the help mode
and all the tutorials that you can have inside it now you've got a joystick
mapping tutorial fair enough I went through and did this I loaded up a
profile for the X 50 to know the X 50 to stick is what I've been using for years
I really really like it I'm not saying it's the be-all and
end-all but there was a preset profile for this if you look at the settings and
go to controls you've got the option at the bottom which is load profile and you
can load up a profile there to which the base a lot of the controls on which is
what I'd advise you do what I did do is I inverted the joystick axis up and down
so I reversed those because I just unused to that you know down is app up
is down no drivers don't get confused though by doing that on the mouse
configuration else you'll be all over the place and then wonder what's going
on and that's something you can't really get your head around this sort of time
in the morning or late at night so the abyssion took to load those profiles is
there and the X 52 is there as well so ok we're back that was the control
section and a brief overview of that flight let's get flying you know what I
mean let's get flying so here we go we're off pressing f2 gives you external
views okay no dramas there press f1 you go back inside this shit now it's
responsive I've got to say this you know you move the joystick this ship moves
it's about 6 degrees sort of like give or take or play with the flight dynamic
and I'm going to follow this ship out here it's given me tutorial messages as
well on the screen which is fine and I'm happy to follow
them so shift in space enables to disables the cursor which means press
shift in space you can move your cursor around the internal side of the cockpit
look at the messages things like that or you can guide your ship with the cursor
as well performing the action on the screen
going through the tutorial then move the tutorial on to the next section as you
can see I press Shift + D I've clicked on messages and I got a display of all
the on-screen messages that I've just had and you can clear those if you so
wish so let's get back get back to flying so what they're saying is write
the location reject is displayed as yellow in the hood so if you look at the
map that's sort of like moving around as I move the ship the holographic map
there are yellow lines that indicate the location of my objective now it'll take
a little bit of a while to get orientated for this but once you move at
this section to those yellow selected targets it'll move on to the next
tutorial of which there was three of those now the next thing will be
boosting alright so it tells you you've got the Bluebird is shield energy and
then the white bar is your health your health strength and above that you've
got speed and you can use the controls on the joystick or the second paddle on
the joystick to accelerate and D accelerate or you can use the keys Evan
X in addition to that you've also got the tab key now if you press the tab key
right you're gonna boost now if you boost that drains your shield energy
which will recharge over time
so if you want to get somewhere quick hit the old boost that drains your
shield energy like I say it will recharge
do not panic right so you've done that then some boosting now this changed the
weapon configuration initially I was quite I was a little bit confused by
this but it refers to those boxes at the bottom of the screen
just by their where's one dot in the primary weapon you can then select how
many dots you want and how many
selections you want to make for that I'm not entirely sure I understand it to be
honest with you I need I spend a little bit more time in this but it was a
little bit confusing to me so ok I've now got some targets that wants me to
shoot right and you know mission targets again you can select them find them on
the map move off towards them and shoot them with your big honking laser gun
also you can assign stickers to your ship now there was sort of the Vincey
man that has been assigned to mine by product that bear with a guitar I don't
know why I mean you know I never played the games too seriously anything that
makes it look a little bit of comedy and humorous for me i pre-ordered the game
as well so I've got some initial ship skins which just changed I think the
lines on the ship two different colors red blue green that sort of thing and
you see a representation of that in the right-hand panel
okay oh that's very good let's get back to what we were doing so we're going to
shoot what looked like little satellites all right and these little satellites
will be moving they're not going to be static so you're gonna have to try and
throttle and adjust the location of your ship so you get in the right vicinity so
you can shoot them and with any new game it takes a little bit of getting used to
to be perfectly honest those are the items the your RC it's got a white
rectal around it now we've got the yellow ones that's my target thank you
very much right I got try and shoot it now without
it getting too far away from me so there's one nice little explosion bit a
lens flare a little bit of JJ Abraham's there going on so you can go a bit
closer that one's gone that one's toast a little it's the next one now
now given how easy it was to shoot the other two why this one's give me any
grief I don't know yeah there you go and he's toast totally gone baby and that
really marks the end of flight training or the first step in the tutorial of
flight training and I've quite enjoyed it the graphics are nice the dynamics of
flying the ship are good you know it's it's pretty good now when you shoot
these things right it does drop items which when you fly to a close proximity
to the items press the O key and that will suck them into your cargo hold so I
don't dump fire missiles and God knows whatever else has gone from that
particular I've collected from that particular item so you do have the
ability just like cheap things and then pick those particular items up so you
can collect things a little bit like a fuel scoop from a game that we all know
and love anyway there you go you haven't got deploy anything you just
press the O key so that was quite straightforward I think really a little
bit of ambiguity around setting of the weapons but I'll look into that a bit
more how you actually make money will come in other tutorials no doubt and the
mission system but like I say so far I've really enjoyed it
graphics are great you know just look at that planet there in the background that
looks fantastic you've got a nice looking station and like I say you know
you can shoot things you can collect things you can scan things from initial
point of a game I'm very impressed and it hasn't crashed today which is a
good thing as well I was getting a bit frustrated with it yesterday and you
know I thought well what's going on I've looked forward to this game for so long
and I think an awful lot of people who play an eater look forward to this for
so long you know it's a bit the second coming straight off the bat you can walk
around your ships you can walk around the space stations you can fly you can
trade you can shoot I mean okay perhaps the comparisons aren't going to stop
there but so far I think you know it shaping up to be really good but it is
only single-player it's not multiplayer whether that's gonna have an aspect of
things or not I don't know anyway I've been Ricardo and this has been explore
fans and the first getting started video that I'm doing this has been about basic
flight having a look around the ship little look around the the Space Station
and going through the first part of that help tutorial thanks very much for
watching and check back for more videos in this series of X for only dangerous
they are billions Frost punk my god I'm playing loads of games subnautica that's
coming out on the Xbox as well soon will do a bit of subnautica play I say thanks
for your support thanks for watching and I'll see you soon
