the action camera "Sony FDR-X3000R".
More than a year ago, I began to consider acquiring such a camera for filming a vogue, in order to bring
something new and possibly interesting.
And, having read the reviews of various action cameras,
I threw away all the Chinese meal,
what i call these chinese video-toys
nd choose between Sony and GoPro.
Due to its modest dimensions
and wide functioning, such a camera can be used in a variety of situations, not only for
shooting sports and action-scenes.
Well, let's talk about this further, and now I will acquaint you with the complete set.
In the Minsk online store "ram.by" this camera was the most attractive in price.
With pre-order, it was offered for 1,100 Bn,
which is about $ 550.
I waited for delivery 10 days, the camera was brought on time.
And from the store the most pleasant experience. Even, as you saw at the beginning, I visited their office when I made out a pre-order
for $ 45. But still they surprised me.
The site presented a standard "Live-view remote kit" with a remote control,
but for the total, for this money I was brought a travel kit
"Action cam travel kit".
The camera is packed in such a dense cardboard box.
As you can see, there is still a sticker - the camera has not opened.
Included is such a mount.
And now the camera itself. So, another box.
This additional accessory "Finger Grip", as it is called, I in a hurry ordered on eBay for $ 20.41.
Now I will sell, if of course delivered.
But the rest of the set is standard: this is a camera, an aqua box for diving with a camera
at a 60-meter depth, a remote with a screen,
a docking station for charging the remote,
a wrist strap for the remote,
a proprietary platform for a camera with fasteks,
a data cable and it same charging cable.
The power adapter itself is not included.
Here is a mount for the remote on a tripod
and a huge library of instructions in many European languages.
Both the camera and the remote are equipped with branded batteries.
Only for the camera was separately attached here is such a battery "NP-BX1" at 1240 mAh.
It is installed here in the battery compartment.
The cover is rubberized, protected from dust and moisture.
Inserted in this way. Here, there is an additional latch
and blocking such a lever.
As for the remote, by unscrewing the 4 screws, the back cover rises,
and a similar battery is installed in it, which is slightly smaller in size, but this is an
"NP-BY1" battery. If here "BX1", then it is "BY1".
And its capacity is 640 mAh total.
To protect the lens glass, complete with "Finger Grip"
were 2 covers of different sizes for models: X3000, AS300 and AS50,
and here is a cord to them that can be attached to the back of the finger mount, behind the camera body.
The camera is securely fixed with the help of the latch in this finger mount,
and you can change the angle of the remote control with the screen as you see it.
But in this case, the mount for the tripod, which is available on the bottom wall of the camera itself, is not available.
Aqua-box allows you to dive with a camera to a depth of 60 m, as indicated
here on the front side.
It is made of fairly thick such plastic. Even, in principle,
it sounds like a bottle glass.
It has the corresponding seals on the back side and on the side wall,
these are rubber, and here it is. By the way, because of this rubber seal,
it covers the microphones. And in this case, sound recording is not available.
As for the aqua-box latch, it seemed to me somewhat unreliable.
Too simple and small latch, and it seems that she is about to open, that is,
I press a little bit, and now it opens.
The control buttons are accessible from above, but they are blocked by such a lever.
That is, in this case, the buttons are not pressed.
And there is a transparent window to highlight the recording mode LED.
It will also be visible on the back wall.
Well, the LED from the front wall is no longer available.
Conveniently, the camera in the aqua box can also be mounted on a tripod.
The universal fastex mount allows
you to fasten a specific camera with a standard 1/4 inch thread,
and with a fastex, for example, to the original Sony mount on a backpack strap, or on a clothespin.
Perhaps the camera mount is all.
As for the remote, there is one such universal mount
that allows you to mount it on a tripod or on the handlebars. The appropriate adapter should be.
I just have such a tape. You can thread it here like a watch strap
and fasten the remote control to anything.
And I also have such a string from an old mobile phone.
Here is a loop. You can hang the remote on the chest.
Here is a universal cool mount.
Well, for the remote there is also such a silicone strap, which will allow you to fasten on your wrist.
The remote itself is charging from such a complete docking station.
Installed in this way. And there is a microUSB connector.
For charging, we use a complete microUSB cable
and a standard adapter from a smartphone. When charging,
a yellow LED lights up here. Then it goes out.
To all this kit, I also ordered a proprietary protective glass for a lens
on AliExpress for $ 30.64.
The accessories for this camera are not cheap. But the one who can buy such a camera, can afford and accessories to it.
As for the camera, it has very modest dimensions and very low weight.

The camera is equipped with Zeiss wide-angle optics, as evidenced by the inscription on its side face,
a proprietary B.O.S.S. optical and digital stabilization system,
an Exmor R proprietary matrix with a resolution of 8.2 MP and a size of 1 / 2.5 ".
It has a backlight matrix,
which improves the quality of shooting in low light levels.
Well, as I have already shown, it's convenient that
the camera uses a standard mount with 1/4 "thread, and you can install it on any tripod and monopod.
If you look into the battery compartment, you can see that all the camera stuffing is concentrated in only
one the right half of the case.
All covers that hide the battery, external interface
and memory card have rubber seals.
This of course also protects the camera from splashes and dust.
The battery compartment hides information for direct connection to the camera, for example, a smartphone.
The battery comes through a microUSB connector, for example, from a powerbank.
And while shooting, you can simultaneously take pictures.
And here the LED also lights up during charging,
which goes off as the battery charges.
There is a brand under the lens,
there is a small speaker-squeaker here, 2 microphones
and here such LED - the record mode indicator. There are only 3 of them:
one in front, one on the top face and one in the back.
You can turn them off, leave only one behind, or turn off all the LEDs.
The camera is equipped with a radio module.
For communication and transmission of video on the screen of the remote
and on-line broadcast, it uses WiFi.
To connect your smartphone as a remote control there is an NFC module.
There is also a special mobile application "PlayMemoriesMobile".
There is also an IR receiver window to control the proprietary infrared remote.
And in order for the camera to be turned on and off
from the radio control, it is necessary to activate the Bluetooth connection.
The camera is even equipped with a GPS module, which, when installed
in the proprietary video editor "PlayMemoriesHome"
superimposes the movement of your camera track, taking into account speed, time and distance.
The same editor allows you to glue together individual frames in slow motion.
The camera uses 2 types of memory cards:
a proprietary Memory stick, it is also called M2, and microSD,
and different types are installed differently in this slot, there are no restrictions,
and you can insert them incorrectly, that is, you can insert it upwards.
But at the same time there is an icon that there is no memory card.
Not all types of microSD cards the camera accepts.
If you get an error, try to go to the desired menu item
and format the memory card.
When using a microSD memory card with a capacity of 128 GB
when recording at FullHD resolution, 50 fps,
the available recording time on it is more than 10 hours.
Also in this compartment is an LED that lights up when accessing the memory card.
The camera menu is called here by this "Menu" button, very simple, intuitive,
divided into 4 sections: to select the video or still image mode,
shooting settings,
settings for viewing the footage
and general camera settings.
It is possible in the camera settings to activate it when you click on the start button,
which will speed up the transfer of the camera to the recording mode, and you will not miss the right moments for shooting.
The external path with the screen model "RM-LVR3"
has a body that is rubberized together with the control buttons.
By the way, the buttons are very tight. I press them almost with my fingernail.
I read on the forums that with it you can dive to a depth of 3 m,
but I would not dare, since there are open contacts
for the docking station to which the battery is connected from the inside.
On the front panel it has such a color screen
on which a live image from the camera lens is broadcast.
Sometimes at the moment of connection, the screen "freezes" a little, but this is literally at the first moment.
The buttons are located on both sides,
and they duplicate the buttons on the camera. The only thing is that the menu of the remote control, in contrast to the menu of the camera,
is expanded by the section for the settings of the remote control itself,
and the battery charge level of the remote control itself and the camera is displayed on it.
Agree conveniently.
From the remote control, as well as from a smartphone connected via WiFi, you can control
the camera, view the captured videos,
but viewing is possible only without sound.
By the way, here you are from me such life hacking.
If you hold down the "Menu" button on the remote for a long time,
the "Hold" mode will turn on.
Here it is flashing, and therefore the control buttons become unavailable.
To unlock this lock, you must either press the "Menu" button again
and hold it for a long time, or simply turn off the remote with the "Power" button.
Simultaneously connect to control the camera and the remote, and the smartphone will not succeed.
Probably there is still no universal camera. Each camera
is purchased and used for a specific plot.
Probably the "Sony FDR-X3000R" is not so convenient to use under water,
because there is no built-in viewfinder or monitor,
and we can not see that we shoot specifically that falls into our frame.
But on the other hand, "Sony FDR" wins by fixing it, for example,
somewhere on board a car outside or on a bicycle, a motorcycle helmet,
but due to the fact that there is a remote control, we can fix
it on the handlebars of the bike, motorcycle and control the shooting mode itself, what we shoot and, for example,
whether the batteries are charged. Maybe the camera is discharged, but we do not see this?
At this point, "Sony" is more convenient than action cameras like "GoPro" with a built-in screen.
Wow !!! - I didn't get the effect,
as they brought it to me very late, and I took the first shots in room lighting.
In case of insufficient illumination, noises on the video are present,
and in this case, the camera shoots the same way as a regular camera
built into a smartphone of a famous manufacturer.
But with bright daylight, the picture is excellent.
And it gives the quality proprietary system of optical and digital stabilization.
To view videos from the camera on my 4K TV, I use the microHDMI connector.
And translate into video mode.
At the same time, I did not notice any "uploads" of the video in any of the permissions.
In short, there are enough "buns" in the camera. It is quite possible to acquire
and use it for filming vlohov, unpacking, etc.,
that is, to use as the main camera. 3x digital zoom available.
You can choose the angle of the lens 23, 32 and 75 degrees.
I do not like the widest angle at which the lens shoots as a "fish eye",
since this distorts the object and rarely uses it.
In addition, the camera allows you to shoot videos in 4K resolution,
25 or 30 fps, the maximum bitrate is 100 mb / s,
respectively, in the PAL or NTSC color system.
I immediately transferred the camera to the PAL system, which is more convenient for me.
For most surveys, I choose mpeg4 codec and FullHD resolution, 50 fps.
