Religious "charity" NIGHTMARE! - Duration: 8:14.

Religion also, has provided food and water and medicine and supplies and housing, and

there has been, in the name of religion, much good that has been done both in this country

and around the world.

Whenever a creationist realizes that they don't have any evidence to support their

religious claims, it's amazing how quickly they'll grasp at this straw.

We need religion to have charities?

So do I need to lie to every cold person before I give them a blanket?

Do I have to deceive every starving child before I give them food?

Or can I just lend a helping hand that isn't covered in bull crap?

Ignoring for a moment all of the secular charities that don't waste donation dollars on building

churches and buying religious material.

Secular organizations like USAID, UNHCR, Doctors without Borders, UNICEF, the Red Cross, or

the fact that many of the top philanthropists in the world don't believe in God, including

Bill Gates and Warren Buffet, who have convinced a plethora of the world's wealthiest people

to pledge the majority of their money to philanthropic causes - garnering the signatures of 170 billionaires,

including notable atheists like Richard Branson and Elon Musk.

But ignoring all of that for a moment.

A charitable act here and there doesn't justify the teaching of things that aren't

true.

Hamas, Hezbollah, hell even Isis all engage in charitable giving.

Does that justify the existence of these organizations or the horrific things that they condone and

conduct?

Would it not be better to promote human kindness and philanthropy for its own sake without

the religious baggage?

After Hurricane Harvey slammed into Texas dealing billions of dollars-worth of damage

and claiming the lives of dozens of victims, thousands of people stepped up to help out.

Sure, there were pastors, churches, mosques, and temples that donated time and money.

But so did hundreds of companies, individuals, government organizations, and celebrities

- Duracell, AirBnB, Verizon, and even Walmart.

Hell, even Fergie helped with the fund-raising effort, she's even donated some of her "Milf

Money" to various charities.

Meanwhile Joel Osteen, pastor of the largest church in Texas shuttered the doors to his

church,

The church is higher than the God damn freeway.

Do you see the freeway?

That's the freeway.

You see that car driving on it?

It's not closed.

Oh!

Look at the flooding!

We're at Joel Osteen's church where he can't take anyone in, because he's under

so much water distress right now.

Look at that!

Joel, are you here?

You know what's happening across the freeway?

People are dying.

- Only opening them after he received massive social media backlash.

Now, while I'm not a fan of Osteen, I want to be fair.

According to him, water did come within a foot of breaching their retaining wall and

flooding the auditorium.

But even if safety was his main concern and all of that was true.

I still think he could have provided the higher-level rooms as shelter, but even putting all that

aside.

The largest church in Texas admitted that it was in no position to help.

(song playing): "You don't have to go home, but you can't stay here."

Why would you donate money to a church when you could give it straight to an organization

that COULD help and help immediately – that's trained specifically for this exact type of

situation?

On top of that, with religious institutions, you don't even know where your money is

going.

Churches are notorious for being completely opaque with their books, because in addition

to not having to pay taxes, churches don't have to disclose their finances or budget,

and they usually don't.

Honestly, I think it's pretty disgraceful how many cities in the US have hundreds of

churches with multi-million dollar budgets, gorgeous facilities, and top of the line equipment,

while thousands of homeless people roam the streets searching for food and shelter.

Now, I fully support charity and even began raising funds on my channel and through social

media for the disaster relief effort of Hurricane Harvey.

And I was hardly the only atheist to do so either.

Seth Andrews, Matt Dilahunty, Aron Ra, Callie Wright, Thomas Smith, Jaclynn Glenn, and many

other atheist activists helped in the fund-raising efforts.

Yeah, they're small compared to gigantic religious institutions, and atheists are still

a minority, but while we don't have anywhere near the same fund-raising capabilities as

religious organizations yet, it's secular organizations like All Hands Volunteers that

spend 90% or more of their budget on actual charity.

In a recent survey of mega churches over half of the respondents admitted to spending less

than 15% of their budget on ministry beyond their congregation.

Since that includes money spent spreading the gospel and on missions spending, only

a fraction of that was actual charity.

And this only includes the churches willing to respond to the survey - a survey of super

rich, huge churches.

Oh, and according to the results, the smaller the church, the smaller the percent of the

budget went to charity.

Tell me again why we need religious institutions for humanitarian aid.

And as FEMA's budget was nearing depletion from Hurricane Harvey, and Hurricane Irma

was bearing down on Florida, 3 churches had the gall to sue FEMA for government aid.

Churches don't even pay taxes!

It's so transparent that they choose to sue a disasters relief agency for funds rather

than pray for god to provide the money to fix their church.

Tell me why my tax dollars should be used to repair houses of worship.

Because worship works so well.

I hate to break it to you, but standing in a circle singing happy ditties to a hurricane

cloud won't make it go away.

I'm sure it feels extremely empowering, but so does telling you that my farts cure cancer.

Empowering, but delusional.

It doesn't make it true!

I know that some churches were extremely generous and giving of their resources.

And that's wonderful.

But churches get their money from donations.

Wouldn't it be better if the churches were transparent about what they do with those

donations?

Or better yet, if we just donated our money directly to the groups doing the most good?

Sure, there will always be some administrative costs, but at least you'll know where your

money is going, which charity is the most efficient, and that your money isn't being

used to propagate lies.

Charity Watch, Charity Navigator, and GiveWell all rate and recommend charities to help you

find where your dollars will be most effective.

Foundation Beyond Belief finds charities where your money won't be spent on religious materials.

Secular and government organizations like the Red Cross, FEMA, The L.G.B.T.Q.

Disaster Relief Fund, The Humane Society (pets), All Hands Volunteers, and many others began

raising funds, collecting blood donations, providing shelter, etc.

I would give to a responsible secular charity any day over an institution with closed books

that blames the weather on gay people and abortion and uses donations to propagate dogma.

Saying that we need religion because of religious charity is like saying that we need Internet

Service Provider monopolies because Comcast donates to charity.

This is the weakest argument for religion I have ever heard!

In the United States, in 2011, almost 100 billion dollars were donated to religious

organizations – a third of all charitable donations.

Imagine what we could do with all of that money if it was donated instead to medical

research, education, or the promotion of science.

Meanwhile the Vatican has rooms made entirely of gold.

…There has been, in the name of religion, much good that has been done both in this

country and around the world.

People send money.

They buy the product or they support the ministry.

Yeah, you know, just an unbelievable amount that keeps it all going.

I can't be a big blessing to people if I'm poor and broke and depress and I don't feel

good about myself.

Check yourself before you wreck yourself!

Give generously, but don't give to dogma dispensaries.

Give where it counts.

Oh, and if religious people believe that god targets places due to iniquity, then why did

he flood hundreds of churches in the Bible Belt, but left Amsterdam, Rio, and Vegas untouched?

this is the place where all the tourists come

and to chill and snorkel some more

It was a wonderful trip, we enjoyed it so much

So we went to Rawa islands for a snorkeling trip

It consists of

Three stops at three

different islands

We went to the

most south western island first

which is also the most beautiful island

and I almost lost my drone there, so I

took off just before we got there

from the boat

and as we went

around the island

I started

filming on the other side

of us and I didn't see that

he went into a small little

bay which cut me off from

the drone

and the drone decided to fly home

and home is where we're not anymore

are anymore so it

flew back

to the middle of the ocean and I had

to get the

captain to drive very quickly

so that I can get signal again

stop the drone, and fly it back again

so that was nail biting

for the drone and then

even

as I came back

another eagle. The eagles

and the birds don't like these drones

That eagle had a go at it

twice and I had to come in quickly and

just land it. The snorkeling was

amazing. The first island

is probably the best for

the corals and the views

The second island

has the sharks and the third island has a nice

little beach but by

the time we got there it was so busy

and you can't

can't get any more beach for yourself

almost but

but amazing experience and then the last

thing. You see now there's the islands

Rawa is that one there

in the far side, far right

then that small little island that's

where your reef sharks are

and then the one on the left is the

first island and probably the most beautiful

in terms of scenery

and landscape and then obviously

the lighthouse. I went to the top

which is difficult by

itself. It's probably the most challenging part

just to get to the top. It's about

eight meters high. So it's

high. And I jumped off!

And what a nice experience, I really

enjoyed that. That's an adrenaline

rush and that is fun

They got a lot of attention and earned (still earning) more money than IOI

I have the notes that I took here :D Because there are 11, yeap ELEVEN members in this group

Their Debut song placed frst in all major and minor music charts

and they won 12 tropies with that song

Lets start with the first member, Park Ji Hoon

I think you will recognize him as wink boy

and also from his aegyo, "NAe maeum soge jeojang"

I can't do it but he is really cute making it.

This aegyo has been slected as the hottest catch phrase of the year by Korea Content Agency

He is both Vocal and Rapper in the group

He can rap, and he can sing; he is full of talents

He is also talented at popping dance

Cute and handsome, he is like honey, yum! :D

by the way His rank was 2nd place in produce 101

I am gonna introduce the second member,

Lai Kuan Lin

I apologize if I miss pronounced his name

He is the maknea of the group

along with Lee Dae-hwi, there are two maknea's in the group

He is also the only member who is not Korean

He is from Taiwan, and guess what?! He was born in 2001

2001...

He has a fun personality, once he said, in weekly idol, that his most charming point is his gaze

Not bad :) but too young, well for me D:

He is from cube Entertainment. There was also another trainee who joined Produce 101 with him. Because they havent been a trainee

for a long time they only showed the most basic dance moves that the have learned. This brought them a lot of attention

In Wanna One, his position is rap.

He placed 7th in produce 101

Next member is the 1st of hearts, charts, show in short first of everything, Kang Daniel.

He is so cute! And thank goodness he was born in 96'

my notes about him are so long. I guess you can tell that I am a big fan.

He is from Busan

He wasn't that popular in the begining of the show, I liked him even before when he was "the Kang Daniel"

His smile is so cute

During the show there was this stage where they were assigned to songs by people's votes.

Trainees were not allowed to say which song they wanted but he kind of mentioned it on IG that is how he

become the hot topic. People started to notice him and loved him. That is how he placed first in the show :)

He can also do B-boying and modern dance, I saw this, also, in Weekly Idol

He is quite good

All the Nuest members joined to Produce 101

but only he got placed in first eleven

They said they joined because, some of you might know they are quite talented but they werent recognized as they deserved,

they wanted recognition. I started listening to them when RapMon talked about one of theşr songs.

I am glad that they joined to this programme. They got what they wanted, people finally started to recognize them.

They are active as Nuest-W now. From what I red, They had a fan meeting with 10.000 fans

It was like a concert

He cant really dance when you tell him to dance :D he dances like this>>>

When he was on Happy Together he said he only had one relationship

Because I think that more people are actually being biracial with the amount of influx of immigrants to different countries

I feel like some people don't know how to react to that also

So I think that definitely affects the environment around us growing up. growing up

I was never one race or the other I was

I spent most of my life in Singapore, and I was never seen as a person

From there even though my mother was from Singapore. I was seen as an outsider

I was seen as someone who was completely different. I was not treated the

same I think that we need to bring awareness to

accepting different races and accepting different people and sorry my dog

Especially just educate the younger generation

I mean and even the current generations about how diversity is okay and to be respectful of each other and

educating kids will probably prevent bullying from happening because

I don't think I mean like if you see someone you don't see often in one place

You're obviously gonna start freaking out or you're gonna start treating them differently

Cuz you don't know so I think educating people would be really important raising awareness

To current generations, I mean all kids do is want to be accepted right they want people to like them

They want people to allow them to be part of their social circle

And it's not fair and maybe you'll argue that life isn't fair

But there's a chance to make people feel like the can fit in and prevent any bullying from happening

I mean I was bullied. I was - no matter what I did

I never fit in. I could speaks Singlish because I grew up in Singapore

but me speaking Singlish just

Either made me feel like I was trying -made them feel like I was trying too hard or me speaking American English maybe with them

Feel like I was showing off so no matter what I did

I could not fit in and I'm pretty sure there are people out there who are feeling the exact same way

So I think raising awareness about this is extremely important to

Our society and to just the future you know

Fried Rice 2 Ways - Regular Fried Rice & Golden Fried Rice | Cooking Basic - Duration: 3:14.

Make sure to dry off your pan before cooking fried rice

Use paper towel or a brush if you have one, dip some cooking oil and brush some oil onto the cooking pan

With this method, if you are not a regular home cook, you can prevent oil wastage

Heat it up to smoking point

Then add cool cooking oil

The regular fried rice is where the eggs goes in first

Scramble it

Then add chilled rice

Season with some salt and pepper

Keep stirring at high heat until the rice begin to dry

You can see the rice are jumping, that shows they are good to be serve

The Golden Fried Rice will begin with the rice first

Thoroughly stir-fry it

Then add eggyolks

Season with salt and pepper

Always bear in mind, jumping rice means good to serve!

Island witn Lighthouse. Les Eclaireurs. (Usuhaia. Argentina)

Mixing brown with yellow I get a earth color to paint the base of the island.

Black on the bottom edge of the island.

Now with the palette knife I give more realism to the island.

We already have our island.

Now we must integrate it in its environment, in this case at sea.

For this we paint with white the water that is in contact with the base of the island.

With blows of palette knife I paint the water that breaks in the rocks.

I detail the sea with the palette knife.

I start with the lighthouse.

I use red and white.

To give volume to the lighthouse I shade one side of it.

I paint the shade of the lighthouse on the island.

As Ernest Hemingway said, "happiness in intelligent people is the rarest thing I know."

Here are six possible reasons why happiness in highly intelligent people is such a rare phenomenon:

Intelligent people overanalyze everything

Many people with a high IQ tend to be overthinkers who constantly analyze everything happening in their life and beyond.

This can be draining at times, especially when your thinking processes take you to undesirable, frustrating conclusions.

Have you heard the saying, 'Ignorance is bliss'?

It surely is – the less you understand, the more carefree and, therefore, happy you are.

Being able to read people's true selves and hidden motives is enough to make you feel disappointed with the whole world

sometimes.

Not even mentioning the feelings that come along with the reflection on philosophical matters,

global issues and life's timeless dilemmas that have no solutions.

Intelligent people have high standards

Smart people know what they want and don't settle for less than that, no matter what area of life we are talking about.

This means that it's more difficult for them to be satisfied with their achievements,

relationships and literally everything that has a place in their life.

Moreover, many people with brilliant theoretical minds happen to have poor practical intelligence and somehow

idealistic views of the world.

So when their expectations face the raw reality of life and other people, it inevitably leads to disappointment.

Intelligent people are too hard on themselves

Another reason why smart people fail to be happy is that they tend to be too strict with themselves.

And here, I'm not talking only about one's achievements and failures.

Intelligent, deep thinking individuals often analyze themselves and their own behavior in such a rigorous manner like

if they are intentionally seeking out things to blame themselves for.

Sometimes, you just lie there in your bed trying to fall asleep and suddenly recall a situation (which probably

happened years or, at least, months ago) when you didn't act the way you should have.

This is enough to mess with your sleep and spoil your mood.

Intelligent people often experience such kind of flashbacks into their past mistakes.

All this cultivates guilt, discontent and other negative emotions that can poison one's happiness.

Reality is not enough

People with high IQs never cease to seek something bigger – a pattern, a meaning, a purpose.

The deepest and the dreamiest of them don't stop there – their restless mind and imagination don't let them just relax

and enjoy "the good things in life." I guess the reality with its trivialities is just too boring for them.

Such people crave for something fantastic, idealistic, eternal… and, of course, never find it in the real world.

Have you ever felt like you don't belong here and should have lived in a different era or maybe on another planet?

Deep thinking, highly intelligent people constantly feel this way.

How can you be happy when you feel like a stranger to the world you live in?

Lack of deep communication and understanding

Being truly understood by someone is one of the greatest experiences a human being can have.

How comforting it is to sit with a like-minded person somewhere quiet and have a meaningful conversation,

realizing that this person understands your ideas and shares your views of the world…

Sadly, intelligent people rarely have this pleasure.

Many of them feel alone and misunderstood, like if no one is able to see and appreciate the depth of their minds.

It's now scientifically confirmed that in order to be happy, individuals with high IQs need less socialization than

those with average levels of intelligence.

However, it doesn't mean that smart people don't crave for human interaction and a good conversation.

They simply prefer to talk about fascinating and meaningful things rather than discuss food,

weather and one's plans for the weekend.

No need to say that nowadays, it's particularly difficult to find a person to have a deep conversation with.

Thank today's consumerist and materialist society for that.

Many people with a high IQ suffer from psychological problems

There have been many studies that link psychiatric disorders, such as social anxiety and bipolar, with high IQs.

Could it be that these conditions are a kind of a side effect of a creative genius and a brilliant mind?

Who knows, science is yet to unravel the mysteries of the human mind.

At the same time, the intelligent people who don't suffer from any mental disorders are still prone to so-called

existential depression, which often is a result of excessive thinking.

If you are thinking all the time and analyze everything in depth, at some point, you start reflecting on life,

death and the meaning of existence.

Sometimes, it's enough to make you want to re-evaluate your own life and, as a result, get sad for no obvious reason.
