age, that is why we must take care of this area so as not to have complications in the future,

even so today in everything in health we will present a plant that is very good for treating and

preventing problems in the prostate and even will be useful for other medical conditions.

The plant we are talking about today is known as nettle, this is rich in vitamins

A, B, C, E, and group b, contains minerals such as iron, calcium, magnesium and zinc.

The benefits that this plant can do for you are:

Nettle for prostate: One study found that nettle contains compounds that can

help in reducing the size of the prostate, eliminate symptoms associated

with an enlarged and inflamed prostate and prevent prostate growth.

Nettle for the skin: This plant because of its antibacterial qualities can be useful

to combat acne, as it purifies and cleanses the skin.

Nettle as an antioxidant: due to the antioxidant qualities of this plant can be useful

to combat free radicals that cause damage to cells and produce aging

and degenerative diseases.

Nettle for muscle pain: Its analgesic properties are very useful for

treating muscle and joint pain, for this the nettle must be used externally

through its essential oil or poultice.

Nettle for urinary problems: by its diuretic properties this plant will serve to

remove toxins and bacteria from the body, it is equally good for

kidney stones.

Nettle for diabetes: regulates glucose and blood sugar by consuming this plant

on a regular basis.

Nettle for the flu: For its expectorant properties this plant helps in the

expulsion of mucus in the airways.

Nettle for hair health: Hair loss can be remedied with this plant because it

prevents hair loss and stimulates it from its root.

Those were some benefits that nettle can give you to benefit from this you

should prepare an infusion with this plant and take it daily.

DW | STAGE PRESENCE - EMOTIONAL VISION (Trailer) | Online dance school by Illan Rivière - Duration: 1:05.

I feel that sometimes I go unnoticed, and sometimes feel I'm the centre of attention.

On stage I've felt something similar, and I wonder:

why does it happen? What's different about me?

It's when I look at what I've done during the day that I realize that I only remember small pieces of what I lived…

I sometimes felt the same on stage; a sense of disconnection,

that take away from my dance expressiveness and fluidity.

I feel the need to be alive, to create an alive person on stage,

capable of making visible what is invisible: the intention.

So every day I ask myself: Am I present?

Do I feel my essence? Do I live with presence?

Madonna FINALLY Leaves America After Threatening Trump, Look Where She's Going - Duration: 13:56.

Madonna FINALLY Leaves America After Threatening Trump, Look Where She's Going

Madonna thrives on being weird.

This Saturday, Madonna showed all her fans a major announcement on her two posts on Instagram.

The 59-year-old trump hating maniac is officially moving to Portugal.

She is apparently working on a movie and making some new music.

Here is the image she posted of her standing over two tree stumps with her legs spread

open over a boat sailing through it.

Legs open is a posture that Madonna most likely assumes often.

She then revealed the following three announcements:

"THE ENERGY OF PORTUGAL IS SO INSPIRING.

I FEEL VERY CREATIVE AND ALIVE HERE AND I LOOK FORWARD TO WORKING ON MY FILM LOVED AND

MAKING NEW MUSIC!!!," BEGAN MADONNA.

"THIS WILL BE THE NEXT CHAPTER IN MY BOOK!

IT'S TIME TO CONQUER THE WORLD FROM A DIFFERENT VANTAGE POINT,"SHE WROTE.

Madonna said that she made the move to Europe because of her mental health.

That sound accurate.

"I used to be a basket case but now I Live in Lisbon!," she said.

According to the AP, her spokesperson said that "the singer said she fell in love with

the country after ending a tour there in 2004."

Madonna is currently directing a movie called Loved.

This is a perfect title… because nobody in America loves Madonna.

"I've always felt oppressed.

I know a lot of people would go, "Oh, that's ridiculous for you to say that.

You're a successful white, wealthy pop star,'" but I've had the s*** kicked out of me for

my entire career, and a large part of that is because I'm female and also because I

refuse to live a conventional life.

I've created a very unconventional family.

I have lovers who are three decades younger than me.

This makes people very uncomfortable."

Remember what Madonna said about blowing up the White House?

Watch that below.

Let's hope that Madonna stays in Portugal.

Share this everywhere if you hope she doesn't ever

come back.

Gemma Eats...Disneyland Food | Dole Whip, Beignets, Grey Stuff Gateau & More! - Duration: 12:26.

You just have to have confidence and you can down one of those bad boys in minutes.

Food is my true passion.

I'm Gemma Stafford, a professional chef and host of Bigger Bolder Baking.

So that means great food is a huge part of my every day life.

You've seen me boldly bake over the top recipes.

Now travel with me on my culinary adventures around the world.

In this Episode of Gemma Eats…I'm at the original Disneyland in California.

Enjoying Disneyland's take on some traditional treats.

Cooling down with a famous frozen dessert…

And going to town with this savory beast.

While even trying a delightful sweet with a strange name…

All right now on Gemma Eats.

Welcome to Disneyland California!

I'm really excited to be here with Olivia Crouppen.

Hi Everybody!

Olivia is my culinary assistant.

She is my eating buddy.

And she was also on Masterchef.

So here's what we did.

We asked everybody on social media where should we eat at Disneyland and we got a huge amount

of requests.

Lots of different things.

Ice creams, all sorts of different stuff.

So we have our phone.

Olivia is going to check social media.

I have a map and we're going to hunt down some really great things to eat.

So let's go.

Let's go.

They don't call it the happiest place on earth for nothing.

Whether it's your first time or one hundredth, the sights and sounds of this park are always

magical.

And of course this is one big and bold place for Eats of all shapes and sizes.

The colorful candy and confections alone could keep someone busy and full for quite some

time.

But we had our first stop in mind.

Just a little further into the park to New Orleans Square and the Cafe Orleans for their

Monte Cristo Sandwich.

I've never had one before.

Have you had one before?

You've never had one before?

No Never.

I love a monte cristo but I haven't had one in years.

And I've never had one at Disneyland.

I'm just a little dubious about the sugar on top.

I like my sweets sweet.

And my savory savory.

So I'm wondering is that a little too much.

That's fair.

But we'll find out.

And if I don't like it, I'll just eat a whole bowl of fries.

True.

I haven't been to Disneyland in over 15 years.

So you have a few times on me.

It's exactly how I remembered.

But I can't remember any of the food so I'm really excited to be eating.

That's all I remember is the food.

So when I was a kid, we used to go as a family to DisneyWorld in Florida.

There were seven of us.

Sometimes 8 or 9 of us.

And it was such a blast.

We rented out a house.

And there was a pool there.

The weather was like nothing we had experienced before being Irish.

And the amusement parks are like nothing I've ever seen.

If I came here from Ireland.

It's hot.

It's sunny.

People are out eating all kinds of street food.

And it's the epitome of American food.

And that's awesome to us because it's something we just don't know.

There are so many things.

Corn Dogs?

What is a Corn Dog?

I find out later it's something delicious.

That I probably shouldn't be eating but it's delicious.

Gorgeous!

Thank you.

Oh my gosh.

Kevin, Check that out!

That is a deep fried sandwich.

That's not a sandwich, that's a monster.

That is a sandwich that has been breaded and deep fried.

Did you know it was deep fried?

I didn't know it was deep fried.

Oh, wait look.

Olivia.

We're not all that bad.

Check out our vegetable.

Oh, just some healthy garlic fries.

Oh my gosh, the smell is insanity.

Ok, let's dig into this sandwich.

Are you ready for this?

Cheers.

I am.

I was born ready.

Your first Monte Cristo.

Oh my gosh

Do you know what this is?

Ridiculous?

This is a donut with ham and cheese in the middle.

That's what this is.

Hence the powdered sugar.

Honestly, it's like the cheese melts into the donut and they become one.

They also give you a little bit of jelly here.

Black Currant?

Black Currant Jam?

That works for me.

Do you know what it's like now?

A Jelly Donut with Ham and Cheese in the middle.

I legit like this.

I just can't imagine now.

How do you go back to a regular sandwich?

Once you have a deep fried sandwich.

How do you go back?

It's all downhill from here.

Or up?

Fries.

Don't forget your vegetables.

One of your 5 a day.

Oh, we need to be doing some of this.

Look at this.

Can we just talk about all the garlic and parmesan.

Oh my.

Good call, Liv.

So, Gem.

It looks like everyone is talking about these Beignets.

And we're in New Orleans so I'm thinking they're pretty close.

Yep, right around the corner.

I think we should go because I can't stop eating those fries.

I'm saving room.

Let's go.

Just around the corner is the Mint Julep Bar famous for their Mickey-Shaped Beignets.

In this bag you'll find doughy, sugary sweet bits of goodness featuring everyone's favorite

mouse.

Go on, Liv.

Dig in while they're still warm.

It's time for my very first beignet.

I can't believe you've never had one.

Oh my gosh.

Aren't they sweet.

Look at it.

It's like you got a baby one.

Mine's like a big mommy one.

They're adorable.

So beignets are pretty much very similar to donuts.

And they're definitely something you find in New Orleans a lot that's why they're

here in the New Orleans Square.

Aren't they yummy?

So good.

Do you think they taste better because they're shaped like Mickey Mouse?

I think they taste better because it's covered in powdered sugar.

I'm starting to think a beignet could be very closely related to a Monte Cristo sandwich.

I have to say though.

I've never been to New Orleans but I'm liking your guys' style.

I would do well in that town.

I think we might need to visit.

I'm thinking next…we're getting a lot about Dole Whip.

Have you had Dole Whip before?

Another first.

You're in for a treat.

Dole Whip is awesome.

It was killing me not to ride any rides yet but I had more Eats in mind…

Near the entrance of Adventureland, is the Dole Whip stand and the line is usually really

long but I have a secret for you.

Ok, so come here.

I'm going to tell you a secret.

When you come to the Dole Whip stand.

You see these arches here.

Go through there and you can actually get served on the other side.

So don't stand in that big queue like a chump.

Let's go get ours really fast.

Skip the line!

There was no one in line on the other side so we were that much closer to this amazing

frozen treat!

Look at that!

I'm excited for you Olivia because you haven't this before so let me know what you think.

Ok, here it goes.

I'd just like everyone to know that is 100 degrees here in Disneyland today so something

like this you have to have it's a necessity.

It tastes just like a pineapple but with the consistency of the creamiest froyo you've

ever had.

Yeah, you're right.

It's delicious.

It's like pineapple ice cream.

And it is cooling me down.

And actually I don't know if you know this Olivia but I've made this before on Bigger

Bolder Baking because I came down here on a trip one time with Kevin and I had it for

the first time ever.

And I said to myself I have to make this.

Because you can only get it at Disneyland, right.

Yeah, I've never seen it anywhere else.

Everyone should experience Dole Whip.

So it's only a few ingredients.

Blend up some pineapple.

It's really easy.

It's absolutely delicious.

I have to say though there's definitely something about being here today in Disneyland.

100 degrees.

I definitely appreciate it right now.

What more could you ask for?

It's creamy.

It's delicious.

It's awesome.

I love this.

This is clearly finished.

Should we move on to our next spot.

Let's do it.

Let's go.

So it was time for a little break from eating…Even though it was ridiculously hot, we had to

go on some rides.

No matter how old you are, Disneyland makes you feel like a kid again.

And of course we found a few good Eats along the way.

This is the next thing we're going to stop at.

Now this is one of the reasons why I love Disneyland.

See right behind me?

Oh, no.

There are these carts everywhere and they sell Churros, hot dogs, corn dogs.

And my absolute most favorite thing ever and I think yours too.

Turkey Legs.

Turkey Legs!

Big as your head turkey legs.

We've got to go get one.

Let's do it.

It's like a bouquet of turkey.

Honestly.

Oh, I'm getting this.

I'm taking this.

Oh.

Sorry, Liv.

I don't know.

Forget the beignets.

The Monte Cristo.

This is where it's at.

Eat that bit there.

When I used to come to DisneyWorld as a kid with my family.

Every single one of us used to order a turkey leg.

And we would demolish it.

The whole thing and we were only like 6, 7, 8 years old.

Every single one of us.

And still to this day, if you say to my Dad Disneyland or DisneyWorld, the first thing

he talks about is the turkey legs.

You don't forget that type of thing in a hurry.

To me what this is all about is fall off the bone like shreddy, smoky.

Get a big chunk.

Oh, look at.

See.

Kev, get in here let me show you why I love this so much.

See this.

It just falls apart and it's smoked as well for extra flavor.

My favorite bit is the part that that's really caramelized almost to the point of

burnt.

Sometimes they call that the bark.

The crispy bark.

If that's good, you shouldn't need anything else.

And that's like this.

It doesn't need any seasoning.

No sauce.

No special extra.

Gourmet turkey leg.

So since we filled up on something savory, we decided to go for something quite sweet.

The Red Rose Taverne is inspired by Beauty and the Beast.

This place feels like a story book come to life.

And we were told this was where we could find The Grey Stuff.

We got a lot of requests to come here.

I think it's kind of crazy.

It's white chocolate mousse, red velvet cake and a raspberry center.

But what it looks like from the pictures online it is a grey kind of coal-ly, charcoal-ly

looking thing so I'm actually really excited to try because it looks interesting and awesome.

I love red velvet.

I love raspberry.

And I love white chocolate.

And I love desserts.

And I love desserts.

Ok, Grey Stuff Gateau.

Let's see what's inside.

Are you ready for this?

I'm so ready.

What's in there, Liv?

Look at that.

It's a cake.

It's like a red velvet cake.

Ok so it's red velvet, raspberry and clearly this is a grey white chocolate mousse.

How does it taste?

Yum.

Yum?

Mmm.

Oh, it's yummy.

Mmm.

The mousse is delicious.

It's funny.

We kept on getting messages on Facebook and on Instagram to go eat Grey Stuff.

And I had to say to somebody, what are you talking about and where is it?

What is grey stuff?

She told me.

I feel like the name does not really do it justice.

I know I sound surprised but this is really yummy.

Good call.

All the bites are getting different.

Now I'm getting bits of raspberry.

Candies.

These little guys whatever they are awesome.

Crunchy crispy.

We had our vegetables today.

We had the potatoes (fries).

We had our fruit which was the Dole Whip.

And there were some grapes with the Monte Cristo.

If Grey Stuff was one of your 5 a day, we'd have them all ticked off.

Certainly worth it.

I don't know about you but I am so full.

Stop laughing at me.

I'm stuffed.

I know, me too.

I'm stuffed.

And to be fair, we had a huge list of things coming here.

We didn't even get to half of them.

So, you're an awesome eating buddy.

I like that you love to eat everything.

But we're just going to have to come back and do it all over again.

Thank you so much.

Thank you guys so much for having me.

You're welcome!

Disneyland's Eats aren't stuffy or pretentious.

They're simply about fun.

They're about transporting you to another place…time…or even age.

At the end of the day, it's about remembering that magical feeling and bringing it with

you wherever you go.

And wherever you eat…

New You Tuber Tag! - Duration: 12:44.

hey guys it's Danielle with Danielle Minnesota vlogs and I am so excited that

Erin Williams tagged me in the new youtuber tag so there are 15 questions

that I am going to go through and I'm gonna talk about Erin Williams a little

bit later but I will link her channel in her tag down below she's amazing I think

she's actually like literally in labor as I'm filming this or has her third

baby in her arm so check her out for sure she's great these are 15 questions

I feel like some of my answers overlap so if that's the case I'm gonna try to

breathe through them so as to not be as repetitive as possible so without

further ado let's get right in it question number one what is my name

Danielle number two where am i from Minnesota you can ascertain both those

things for my chimney channel named Danielle Minnesota vlogs and maybe the

ladder by my accent let me know below if you think I have a Minnesota accent I'm

actually surprised I haven't gotten that yet I went to school in California and

lost most of it but I've been back for 15 years and I think it's back how tall

am I five four I'm changing this next question - do you have children and how

many we have one child James Walter is 4 he'll be 5 this fall is this my first

channel it is what is my channel about to be perfectly transparent I'm still

figuring out where I land in this YouTube space I am a businesswoman I

think being a working mom with the YouTube channel kind of sets me apart so

I hope to be a voice for the working mom I hope to not that I have all the

answers but to be a source of camaraderie for other working moms

trying to figure out the right balance and as a viewer I love stay-at-home mom

channels of my channels they follow our

homeschooling moms and I just love looking through a window of a different

lifestyle than my own so I hope to be that window to stay-at-home moms - I

think it's really cool to see you know how different we are and how different

people live I really like green products I try to not waste a lot so I touch on

that in my channel minimalism means different things to different people but

I I consider myself to dabble in minimalism I like to keep things clutter

free as much as possible I have struggled on and off with anxiety and

depression and I like to talk about that on my channel to normalize it when I was

in the thick of it I thought I was defective and not normal and alone and

weird and I now know that's not the case it's so normal and so common and not

everyone likes to speak about it and all power to you what you want to do but I I

like to talk about it to normalize it and hopefully I can help even one person

feel not alone

let's see I like to organize so you know who doesn't love a good organization

video I love to cook and I did some cooking videos when I started my channel

and no one watched but I'm gonna start doing them again because I passionate

about cooking and I'm not gonna worry as much anymore about the analytics so

again I'm trying to find my niche in this space but what I just spoke on her

I would say the main themes of my channel thus far why should anyone

subscribe to my channel again I think the working mom thing kind of sets me

apart I guess I think I am a real person and I have interesting point of views

and yeah if you like this I'd hope you subscribe and if you don't I don't think

my channel is for everyone and that's totally fine I don't think I did a good

job on selling myself but okay I love this question because it's

really hard for me where do I see myself in five years and where do I see my

channel in five years I am such a planner I should have mentioned that in

what my channel is about I have a paper planner I play in my days by the hour

I played my weeks I played my mom's if I don't have a plan I'm so stressed I'm

very type A but I don't really make long-term plans and goals which is so

foolish it should be that should be really important so this is hard for me

in five years let's see we have one child and we might be done having

children and we might be a one-child household but I do think in five years

we'd probably have another if that's what we decide and God willing I've had

a chemical pregnancy before I know it's not everyone can have children if they

want them biologically so I think we'll have another kid though and I'm excited

about that I hope our house is done being renovated

or maybe we'll have even moved on to something else I'm gonna get judged for

this but it came to my head so I'm gonna say it I hope I'm skinnier in five years

that might make me an awful person but I do it's been five years since I gave

birth and I'm still trying to lose the baby weight I know that's terrible but

in all seriousness I hope that we're happy I hope that we're healthy I hope

that were living life moment by moment and enjoying it and can't ask for much

more than that for a family right I was just talking for a good five minutes and

realized it was not recording so I think where it left off is where do I see my

youtube channel in five years and I have no idea I don't have long or short term

goals for this channel I started it because it was scary I think we should

do things that are scary every so often and I've been overdue for that I've

always wanted to make a channel but I let my

cuties get the best of me so I just did it and just to stretch myself I'm very

shy and introverted I am reserved and so it's kind of like a an exercise to you

know I just I'm not explaining this well I think we should do things that make us

uncomfortable every once in a while in order to grow it's a self growth

exercise and then a side note that I didn't really expect is all the great

friends that I've made and connected with yeah that's been amazing it's such

a nice community so I hope that doesn't make me sound I'm committed to my

channel I've been pumping out three videos a week since I started in the

spring I think two or the weeks I did two videos but I'm committed I just

don't have like these grand goals of making money or quitting my job if that

were to happen organically that would be amazing

but I'm just focused on stretching myself connecting with others and maybe

in a few months all sit down and and redraft some goals what inspired me to

start my channel I just answered that who are some of my favorite youtubers

I'm gonna copy aaron and talk about smaller channels and then larger

channels so first i'll tell you about my youtube friends to me that means smaller

channels i'm subscribed to them they're subscribed to me

aaron williams of course she is a fellow working mom so I feel like that really

distinguishes her Vanessa and family happily ever minimal Jillian Starling

Johanna L Newman I think I was her third subscriber and she has about 800 now so

I saw something and I knew it my mom a wife life I owe you an email or a text

Antoinette I'm sorry we're trying to meet in person when I'm in California

next month which is so cool but I don't think it's gonna work with my timeline

Jessica tall the kitchen wife simple and delicious I hope I didn't

miss anyone if I mentioned you as your viewer I would love to hear your answers

to these questions so consider yourself tagged bigger channels so if there was

one channel that inspired me it would be hands down how Jen does it she's my

favorite youtuber I've learned so much from her about like cleaning routines

and organization and I've become such a cleaner person since I found her I think

that's the awesome thing about YouTube that's where beauty

what's up moms do it on a dime and then to mid-size channels about 50k

subscribers who've really influenced me are the mommy archives and naturally

thrifty mama they're both lifestyle mom channels and

they kind of focus on minimalism and green products which I'm pretty

passionate about I hope I'm still recording okay that's

what I'm looking at if I keep looking what does my username mean it's my name

my state vlogs I like I said I'm not really sure what my niche is yet so I

wanted something generic I wasn't comfortable using my last name I'm very

proud to be a Minnesotan so I don't know if it was the best choice but I think

it's pretty generic the best thing about YouTube by far has been connecting with

others and stretching myself as a viewer like I said with how Jen does it I've

just learned so much there's such a plethora of information on YouTube I

think it's an amazing platform I started to really get into it when I was

pregnant I wanted a cloth diaper and that takes a lot of research I learned

how to swaddle a baby breastfeeding tips there's just so many things to learn I

think not my day with recording I keep it

keeps stopping but anyways there's just so many things to learn on YouTube I

think it's amazing okay I think I'm on the worst thing as a new channel you

know I've had weeks where people have seem to like my videos I've connected

with others getting subscribers and then I'm like well if they like this video

they're gonna like this video for next week and I work really hard and then

nobody watches and then people unsubscribe so it's just kind of up and

down I'm too small to get the hate stuff but I will say I've gotten some thumbs

down you know you can like a video or dislike it and it honestly doesn't bug

me like not everyone's gonna like my video and if they want to poke you let

me know that's that's fine but I got when I first talked about my struggles

with anxiety and depression like that was like hard and a big deal for me to

share and someone gave me a thumbs down it wasn't hurt I guess I was just

annoyed like what are you doing who are you so that's the only bad things so far

which in the scheme of things is fine

okay my goals on YouTube I already mentioned and then we're at the last

question which is good because I'm having such trouble with technology

today any advice for youtubers for new

youtubers my answer would be no because I do not have the answers I'm new myself

if you have advice for me please comment below so that's everything I hope you

check out the channels that I mentioned especially the smaller ones and I hope

that some of you do this tag as well if you enjoy this please give it a thumbs

up thumbs down if you want please subscribe and I hope to see you next

time bye guys

All this is no coincidence

Just- just- I could feel that

The whole world is different than yesterday

Just- just- with your joy

When you called me

I become your flower

As if we were waiting

We bloom until we ache

Maybe it's the providence of the universe

It just had to be that

U know I know

You are I, I am you

As much as my heart flutters, I'm worried

The destiny is jealous of us

Just like you I'm so scared

When you see me

When you touch me

The universe has moved for us

There wasn't even a little miss

Our happiness was meant to be

Cuz you love me

And I love you

You're my penicillium (blue mold)

Saving me

My angel my world

I'm your calico cat

Here to see you

Love me now touch me now

Just let me love you

Just let me love you

Since the creation of the universe

Everything was destined

Just let me love you

Weekly Entertainment Wrap Up #35 [CC] - Duration: 4:47.

Hi, YouTube, it's Kathy, and this is my Weekly Entertainment Wrap Up for August 27th to September 2nd.

This week I read 2 books, I watched 3 shows, I listened to 1 podcast, and I listened to 1 book.

This week, I finished Not Your Sidekick by C.B. Lee.

This is a book takes place about a hundred years in the future that follows Jess, the

middle child in a family where everyone else is pretty special - meaning her parents and

older sister are superheroes with metahuman powers, and her little brother is a genius.

Jess, however, has tested herself for every super power she can think of, and she doesn't

have any of them.

Disappointed, she now tries to figure out what else to do with her life now that her

dreams have been crushed.

I had fun reading this one, but a lot of it was incredibly predictable.

That being said, I had a lot of fun watching Jess flail over the girl she was crushing

on, and could related to her critiques of her schools' LGBT club.

As someone who is also bi, I wouldn't really fit in with a group of gay men who are basically

just treating the group like their friend hang out, either.

Jess is also caught in a strange place culturally; both of her parents immigrated from different

countries in Asia, and she finds fitting in with Chinese or Vietnam communities an issue

because both of her parents only spoke English to her because they didn't want her to get an accent.

She took language classes growing up, but it doesn't quite bridge the gap.

Although not on a racial basis, I can relate to being in the middle and feeling like I

don't really fit in with either side.

This week, I also read Wires and Nerve by Marissa Meyer with art by Douglas Holgate.

This graphic novel takes place after the Lunar Chronicle books, and follows Iko as she hunts super soldiers.

Need I say more?

Iko is such a sass machine, and I loved getting to see the characters in this new format.

I am looking forward to the next installment.

I really enjoyed the art style in this book - it's all done in blues and blacks and whites,

and I felt it was really easy to immerse myself in it.

So, here's the thing about Game of Thrones - I thought it was ending, so this was a great

time to watch it all in a month.

Now I find out the last season isn't coming out for 2 years?!

Who does this show think it is, Sherlock?

Also, no spoilers, but the identity reveal at the end - I had a theory about this since

the first season and if anybody wants to know about it, DM me on Twitter.

I was almost right.

Moving onto another show that I knew couldn't get through a season finale without tragedy,

Downton Abbey.

I'm watching it with a friend of mine who has seen it before, and about 5 minutes before

a big spoiler happened, I was like, "well, this is ending too happily.

I'm gonna be pissed in about 5 minutes when they kill off this character".

My friend was slightly amazed that I called it, and had to look away so she didn't preemptively

tell me I was right.

We're into the 4th season now, and I'm still enjoying these characters, especially

when the show humanizes the characters that are usually just the worst.

It doesn't make them less of the worst, but it does make them less of caricatures.

The same friend tends to feed me and other people on Tuesday night, and had the first

season of Gilmore Girls playing in the background when we arrived, so we just kept watching it.

I haven't watched it since high school, and it was fun to revisit and marvel at how

young everyone is.

One of the attendees hasn't watched it extensively, so it was fun to point out that Dean in Gilmore

Girls is Sam in Supernatural, but his brother is called Dean, because that makes things

super easy to remember.

This week I listened to a new podcast called Puck Face,

where hockey culture and counterculture collide.

I don't care about sportsball, but I do care about the people who make this podcast; they

basically recorded it where I'm sitting.

This was the first episode, and it explains the reason for its existence really nicely,

but to give a quick rundown, my roommate used to follow politics really closely, but then

November broke him, so he started following hockey instead, to care about something that

didn't matter so much.

He is disabled, and has many things to say about the culture around hockey and disability,

so give the first episode a listen if you care about

hockey and/or disability representation in media.

I was the first subscriber on YouTube, and the first episode is linked down below, with captions.

This week I listened to The End by Lemony Snicket.

That means I have finished A Series of Unfortunate Events, and I feel kind of ambivalent.

Some things went down, some secrets were revealed, but you walk away with more questions than answers.

Now that I'm finished the books, I'm even more impatient to see how the show will adapt

the books into episodes.

Will they stick to the 2 episodes per book pattern?

Will the next season be another 4 books, and then the third season be another 5 books so

you have all 13 books?

Are they going to have to recast Sunny because the actress playing her will grow up faster

than the production schedule?

Have they already filmed everything and they're already on post-production for the special effects?

These are all questions I have but don't want to look up, because I want to find out

in context of watching the show, and not looking up articles online.

Does anyone else feel this way?

You want to know, but you'd rather find out by watching

instead of spoiling something for yourself?

That's it for this week.

If you've read, watched, or listened to any of these, let me know your thoughts down

in the comments below.

On the way down to the comments section, if you could hit that Subscribe button, that

would be very nice of you.

You can also like and share this as you see fit, and I will see you next time. Bye!

[outro music]

On the way down to the comments, if you hit that sh-sh-bla-bla-blahp!

The banana plants bought from ebay have new growths - Duration: 4:00.

Hi I'm George :) today I will show two banana which I bought on eBay

remember? then I bought Musa Basjoo and

and Musa Nagensium from Germany

and survived, they have started to grow for some time

and in this video I will show you how they grew up, they grew really great

and I'm happy, let me show you

this is the first one I bought, it is musa basjoo

and look how it looks now

and as shown before

so now, as you can see, here

would have had to grow new leaves from here

but did not grow, the plant decided to grow a new baby

and that all is well, I enjoy it

looks super with three leaves and I'm happy

I believe that in the future there will grow babys... so

but this if it dries I will cut it from here

and done... so

I'm very glad I got Musa Basjoo

this variety grows very high outside

and can bloom if you care for it

but the fruit will not be able to ripen

and Musa Nagensium

is the second, I bought it from ebay in germany

and these look how it looks now

and as shown before

grew more leaves

and looks cool, it rained outside, so they're out

and leaves are moist, bananas appreciate that so much

and looks great, I like how it looks

very super, I'm glad

Look how they grow the leaves next to each other

and hope to grow nicely

in the future possible to grow babys, so well see and

it's really great variety of banana

I already have 6 varieties of bananas

and so I ordered some banana seeds on eBay

Musa Velutina, I have ordered from Poland

the second time I order Musa Velutina, I will try to germinate them

but I do not know if I will succeed

among others very super so banana

on this one I paid 15 eur, it's musa basjoo

but this one, I paid 16-17 Euros

it's more expensive, and looks prettier

but this one it does not resist freezing in the winter

but this one it could resist if you put protection on it

so it can be wrapped with straw, but I will experience this next year

we will see how these bananas will grow further, soon the cold will come and

they will stop growing, but anyway I'm happy, look how much it grew up

If You Give Up It Means You Never Wanted It - Duration: 24:44.

Welcome everyone to today's podcast and today, I'm going to be talking to Sacha Liddiard so Sacha are you on the line

Yes, I am. I'm here ready to chat away. Thank you so much

I know you're giving up your Sunday morning to do this because I don't think our listeners would know that so she's actually in the

in the UK and I'm in Australia so at the moment there is something like a 9-hour time difference

So, thank you very much for giving up your Sunday morning for us

Little bit of background about how you became to be involved in your business

But firstly if you just let us know what it is that your business is called

Okay, well the business really haven't got a name because it basically

My business is

An e-commerce business, and it's what I do and operate from home

But I've got some other things that are starting to happen as well. Let me just take it back a step

and it'll become a little bit clearer really just a little bit about my background

And how I've now got to this stage where I feel that it's now time for me to get back to

to working for myself and

and being back to being that entrepreneur that I have dipped inand out of over the years really I

Come from a very entrepreneurial background. I don't know whether you you remember fuzzy felt

Do you fuzzy felt when you were younger vaguely

Yeah its about putting fuzzy pictures on a board that was my grandmother's business yes

She was a very successful lady, and I lived next door to her

she was a bit of a rock throughout my life and

And what I could see from her is by having her own business

What that gave her and it gave her an amazing rounded life, she travelled a heck of a lot

but she had a lot of time freedom and therefore she had time freedom for us as grandchildren and children so

always wanted to get back to that I

started out originally in the finance industry and I

did sales and it was very very successful did really well over there

but then I decided to start a family and

we made a decision myself and my husband that he would be at home looking after the kids and

for the future family

and I would go back out continue as my job because mine was really themain income coming in and

That worked what fine for a while I thought I was the the lady that could do it all have a family have a successful career

and

Do it all really

But it started become a bit of a struggle. I came home one night. I was so looking forward to

seeing my daughter

And it was the only thing I could think about all day long when I was working and I walked through the door and my husband was walking

came down the stairs, and he just said I am so sorry

I couldn't keep her awake any longer and my my heart sank

And you didn't know that feeling it's just

Horrible horrible, I thought what am I doing? This isn't important what I'm doing

out and about in the big wide world, what was I trying to create

And make the decision there and then that I would find some way that I could be at home

with my daughter

and then I with future son as well and

So I started an a started a business from home and I've done it before

my husband had a successful business as well and eventually

went on board with him and we workedtogether and

then

unfortunately

We got divorced and I had to get back out into the big wide crazy frightening world yet again and

It was a whole new ball game after being out of it for 15 years and getting back into the corporate world

It was quite scary

But I did alright I became a

coach and trainer

In the health and fitness industry

and I absolutely loved it and

I Remember someone saying to me that if you won the lottery what would you do?

Do you know what I don't think I'd give up my job it was actually a good job

Again it was giving me

It was giving me freedom to do what I want when I wanted to do it

But it was just the reward of seeing how I could make a difference to other people in

their in their in their busy world, so that's that's what I did for quite a long time, and then I

Got that dreaded call

and

Both myself and the sales director of the company and a large proportion of the sales team were made redundant

And it was overnight. It was really that awful

One minute you think everything's going swimmingly well, and you never need to think about anything else, and then it was some

redundancy

And I think when you get made redundant you panic

You think I and I did panic? I went and got offered a job straight away, which I thought great fantastic

No worries there, but the job I took

was the biggest mistake I think I have made within my career, it was good money

but it was a

Very long commute. It was hard work. It was dictatorship. It was being on conference calls about five or six times a day

No control over your own destiny whatsoever everything was controlled for you

and

I realized then that I never want ti ve put in this position again. I need to have a plan B and

That's when I started the business from home

There I'm working full-time or was working while I'm still working full-time. I'll explain that in a minute

But at the same time running a business from home, and that was the ecommerce business

Now that this is something I can do from home from my laptop

And it fittedin brilliantly and that I've been doing that for about the last

Two years and in the meantime changed jobs. I've got out of the fitness industry

I've gotten up out of the nightmare one and I'm back into

coaching and training

And

Then what I've discovered is that I can

Do a lot more coaching and training

online with people and that has started to develop massively and really teaching other people how to

Tstart their own businesses in exactly the same way that I've been able to do

Alongside a full-time job

And it's now come to a stage where I can't do both anymore

I'm working all the hours god sends

But I'm getting now enough income that's coming in on my home from the work that I'm doing from home

That's allowing me to now

But I handed my notice in about a month ago

You know what I did is to get me through the

Months where I was in this awful job. I

discovered podcasts. That's the time I discovered podcast and

And I started listening to other women

That were making a success of working from home, and that's what inspired me. That's what motivates me

So that's really what I did and I listen to podcasts because that was a long commute

So I listened on the way, and I listened on the way back and I highly recommend them to it

And I don't stop now. I continue to listen to podcasts every day

Ok it's amazing like technology hasn't made such a difference to our lives that you have actually a business online

but also the

podcasts

You know in a way when you think about it the commute that you have to do for your nightmare job in some way

it was

The silver lining wasn't it because it allowed you time to listen to a podcast so then you were able to create another life for yourself

yourself to move out of that situation you didnt want to be in yeah, yeah, and you've got to keep doing it, and you've got to keep

Because it gives you that hope and that inspiration of motivation other people can do it

Why can't you yeah, and I also think it's the knowledge because sometimes as you know we don't know what we don't know

Yeah, and and if you don't know something exists you think you're stuck

But when you listen to other people listen to the podcast and start looking around you find

There are other things out that you have no idea that you can actually get into and start doing

I meawho knew 30 years ago. We could be doing coaching online

Yeah, yeah 30 years ago you and I could talk for nothing?

The international telephone calls

And I think when you're in your bubble outside of this world you know the internet world you don't realize what's there

You have no idea people do have no idea and then you

Get yourself that you get yourself engrossed in it

And it just opens up a whole new world a whole new world of opportunity, and it's exciting it gives you

Hope it gives you something to work for so

Yeah

Can you pinpoint a time when you really started to take off or was it just a gradual process for you

Yeah, I think it's been a gradual process, and it's had some it's had some rocky stages along the way

You know where you feel? Oh this is?

Never gonna get this to where I need it to be to give me that comfort

giving up my work, but

So yes definitely a gradual process and an retractions as well. You know you've gone backwards, and you and you've gone forwards and

It's something we were going to chat about later

top tips of along the ways just never give up never ever give up because

If you have that belief and that right mindset from the beginning that this is gonna work. You've got it

The only way you're gonna be able to fail is by giving up so you just got to keep going

New ways of

Doing things as well so if youare really determined and passionate about doing something you'll find another way of doing it won't you?

absolutely

So for you it has been gradual, but when was it that you decided then okay?

I'm going to give up my job

Did you actually have something in mind?

But you know there's a certain point you're going to get to and then you could say this is it

I'm going to leave my job

Well Ihad a goal I'm gonna be 52 in October

And I wanted to make sure that I didn't reach my 52nd birthday and that I was still

trudging through

the mine field of work

So that was that was a bit of a mental goal

It's just other things that I can't yeah. You know I I have a husband a new husband now and and

I have a dog as well I

get home from work and its pitch black can't take the dog for a walk and

I thought I can't go through another winter

Of this I need to be at home. I need to be spending time outdoors. Enjoying my life

Enjoy my life with my husband. Enjoy my life with my dog family

I can't do another winter

So this October time of having a birthday

winter coming it's just but that's what I've got to do it so gradually gradually work towards it and

Yeah, and I feel

The business is at a stage where I feel quite comfortable

So you decided to go back Anything

that you were fearful about going back into your own business well, but working from home now, yeah

Yeah natural fears I think anybody

Would have is that fear of failure?

the fear of loneliness as well because I think in

the job that I've been in it's it's a massive people people based business and

You're talking to people all the time real people face to face and I think

My new business this is going to be a lot more is far more involved around

the telephone the internet, so yeah

That do you know what the fear of not having the life that I

Have always wanted for myself that what I dreamed for myself

That fear is far greater

I think if that fear is far greater

Everything else is quite insignificant. You'll do it

Yeah, you need that

Actually, I do have a Facebook

Both profile and page and on my banner is feel the fear and do it anyway

I've had that some

drummed into me for years and years and years and

It's a mantra that I would like also hurts something once. It's it carriage

Can't show up unless there's fear, so you can't prove that you can register as soon as the fear

Yeah, it can't be brave unless there is a fear

No absolutely, and I think you know you get to the stage in your life that you've actually overcome

So many fears along the way I've had so many times where I've had to make massive decisions and they are

Frightening decisions to make but I got there, and I've got to see the other side, and I think the more times you do that

The easier it becomes I was

Asked to do a webinar

Recently and I knew this webinar was going out to thousands and thousands of people

worldwide

that was terrifying absolutely terrifying and

I

Had everything prepared everything was organized and

About I just thought you know what I think I'm gonna close my computer down

so that I've got nothing there running in the background so everything's running smoothly, but I did this about 20 minutes or so before the

webinar was about to start and my computer decided to then do thousands and thousands of

The panic I was experiencing because I couldn't shut the computer downuntil it had done all the updates and

It kept going and it kept going it kept going and it got to the time that I was actually meant to be going live

And it was still going

It was horrendous

and

Anyway, I got through that I think I started about 15 minutes late

and I thought everybody would have disappeared and gone, and they were all still sitting in the room ready and waiting and I did it and

I loved it

No way what I found was it's so different from when you're working for a large organization

Because if anything technical happens you can just pick up the phone and ring IT Help Desk

everything's done for you, and I think

When you run your own business it makes you a lot more resilient, and you actually have to start thinking more laterally as well

yeah, yeah and surround yourself by other with other people I mean I

Think as entrepreneurs

We by nature are very independent people. I think the fact that I'm a you know I coach I train

People who have those skills

One of the things they probably lack is and I and I know and I can be guilty of myself is not

taking advice from other people

you think you can do this alone and

I think my biggest

My biggest learning is is is surrounding yourself by with people that

you trust and that you know you can go to for advice and mentorship, so you need a mentor yourself I

and I found that I found that the firm that helps

Have you found those people online, offline or a mixture of both

I have to say a mixture of both because one of those is my husband

Yeah do you know what the best of them are online

They are and I have formed some fantastic relationships

with people online

That but you take it offline 've met met them so consequently

Offline and

And our listeners don't know this but Sacha I actually met on this online mentorship groups we are in

We belong to the same group. It's in the UK so everybody I've had contact with in the UK. I've never met

I've met on zoom' meetings and things like that and it had some Skype sessions that some people

but

It was all online and I found that the online support

Was really good for me because sometimes when you're living in a small geographic area

Where there's not much people many people around or much support you do have to go online. That's so you can find it

Yeah, yeah we are not all lucky enough to have people living in the same neighborhood or in the same suburb in the same city are we know

that group that we're part of I have

actually dipped in and out I'm back in and I came out for a little while for no reason

It's just that other things have been going on in my life, but it's a great support network

And that's what you need and you need that support network. That's so true

So what are some of the best things about what you're doing now?

Well the excitement the

Possibilities of what I'm going to be able to achieve I

My biggest passion is travel by having this business now that I will have online

it means I can travel at the same time you have laptop have iPad will travel and

That's one of the biggest excitements I've got that hope and excitement of what's going to be around the corner and to me

Time freedom is most important

Yeah, okay

you get to a stage where you you just want more quality of life spending time doing what you want to do and

That excites me

immensely and

so yeah I

Think you're right there once you've been through the mill

Of having a job where you've had to go to a place a physical place and work

Commute and not having family time after and realising there is is so much more to life

Well, and it is about spending time with with people and I know in my case my sister said too much

She said what you've given up your job now. You're at home. What are you doing? I'm just so busy

How can I explain what I'm doing?

Yeah

And I'm sort of person that will get stuck in with absolutely. I want to learn as much as I can

It's an unreal lifestyle, and I'm sure it is a lot of fear for people that fear of technology

Fear of giving up the security and safe for the alleged security and safety of a job whereas you know from your experience

That one day it could be just absolute heaven and the next day you go in and you don't have it, okay?

You know they say see you later

Yeah, it's such a false

Misconception that

Your job in the corporate world is is safe. It's no safer

Yeah, is that realization, then absolutely hit me, and I do think you have to have that Plan B

You have some control yeah, I also think taking that that keeping that and that going with the plan B is I

With now working from that. I will be working from home

I have a plan B within that as well so that you're not putting all your eggs in one basket

So I have things that have got projects on the go. I've got a new company that I'm launching

So

It's not all

You haven't got everything

If one thing goes for you, you've got something else

thats going to be a backup as long as you've got the basics coivered You know that you're going to survive

It gives you that that feeling of comfort yeah, and that's yeah

Yeah, so it's going to ask you if you had one secret to tell me this is about starting their own business

What would it be?

Well, I think I touched on it earlier. It was you know just never give up, but the and also talking about being

surrounding yourself with positive people

You've heard the saying of you know you're the average of the of the five people that you spend the most time with

That is so true

When you're building your own business

From home or wherever you're doing it. You need to be surrounded by positive people and

Choose the people you choose

The people that you spend that time with very very carefully

Certain people and seek out more people that were going to be helpful to me

But also to be an inspiration and and the other thing about that quote

is you are also the average of the income is the average of the five people you spend the most ttime with

surround your self with those people who are motivated inspired beyond belief

It makes such a difference and and you need that because you're gonna have days where you feel

What on earth have I done?

Yeah, and you need somebody that you can go to that's that's been there done that and can help you so yeah

That's what that's it's a secret

I dont think its a secret I think people realise

I know that you're very

You're very involved in social media, and you've got a few places where people can find you

So would you just like to let us know you know what's your Facebook page and your Twitter and?

Yes find you online

well the

Facebook page is

www.facebook.com/sachaloisliddiard

Lois That's my middle name and the name of my grandma who started fuzzy felt

Liddiard double .com and that's best place to go because you'll see my Twitter there you'll see

My Pinterest I'm on Pinterest as well those are my two

other

Social media platforms that I dabble in Facebook is where I stick I guess so

Facebook is the best place that's about point of contacting everyone just find you from find your other social media platforms from there

How to Get Ready for a Date - Duration: 8:00.

Welcome back to the Gentleman's Gazette!

In today's video, we discuss how to get ready for a date.

So before you even make it to a date, make sure it's actually a date.

With all the internet vagueries, the differences between a date, or a hookup, or whatever else,

can be quite vague and so it just helps if you just clarify it.

Once that's settled, make plans together.

Traditionally, dinner is what you do, especially in the beginning, however, if you know that

the person a pretty spot or she has a very peculiar hobby, or she always dreamed of doing

something, it may be a great idea to suggest just that.

It could be something like a hot air balloon ride, or maybe she loves the amusement park,

maybe a movie or just a drink.

Alternatively, you could go to an art gallery or a concert.

SImply find out how your date ticks, what they like, and try to find something that

works for both of you.

If your date makes a suggestion to have coffee or get a drink, just follow along unless of

course, it makes you hugely uncomfortable which is probably rarely the case.

As you know, outward appearances have a huge impact on how you are perceived so it's time

to put your best foot forward.

That means, get a haircut.

If you just recently got a haircut, simply go for a trim because it provides you with

a polished look that says "I respect myself and others"

The day before the date, just reach out to confirm that the date is on and do not offer

to pick her or him up in case it's your first date.

Keep that for the second date.

Just like with the haircut, you want to make sure that your outfit stands out but that

it's you at the same time because you want to be confident and you want to be able to

focus on your date and not on your clothes and how it fits.

Overall, it should represent you but I think it always pays to go one step above.

If you are the kind of guy who usually wears flipflops with t-shirt, step up your game,

get a polo shirt, maybe a pair of chinos, and maybe a nice pair of casual shoes like

the boat shoes.

Dress that way, you will still be yourself but it just shows you put some effort into

the date, that you are interested in the other person.

Of course, you should always adapt to your outfit to the date itself and the outward

surroundings.

If it's hot, wear something more summery.

If it's cold, wear something that's appropriate.

Personally, I think it's a very bad first impression to look stiff so if you don't wear

suits very often, skip the suit as it will feel very odd because you are just not yourself

and it's unnatural which is unpleasant and your date will notice that.

If you usually wear polo shirts, maybe get a step up with a dress shirt, or if you usually

wear dress shirts, get a step up and get a jacket or a blazer.

I suggest you skip the bow tie or the necktie because again, some people may consider that

to be very stiff, however, if you are an absolute clothes horse, and you always wear suits and

ties, and that's who you are, then of course for a date, you should do the same thing otherwise,

it looks kind of fake.

Definitely pay attention to your shoes because it is something most dates will take a look

at so I suggest a nice pair of leather shoes with a matching leather belt is perfect.

If you are a little more casual, maybe go with driving mocs or boat shoes and you can

learn more about those options in our video guides here.

If you wear a blazer or a jacket, go with a pocket square.

It adds a really polished look, otherwise, just go with a nice wristwatch.

Definitely, skip the gold neck chains and maybe the wristbands because that may just

give the wrong impression.

Unless you are on a beach or it's a very casual outing, I suggest not to wear shorts, flip

flops, and sloppy t-shirts or wife beater shirts because they just show that you don't

care about your appearance, chances are, the other person does and it can be really odd

if they are all dress up and you are all dressed down.

Unless you're going to a sporting event and you are both huge sport fans, and you know

it, don't wear jerseys because it looks sloppy.

The same is true for stained clothing.

Nothing says I'm messy more than wearing stained clothes on your date.

I know you may not always do that but in those situations, make sure to iron your shirts

and to polish your shoes.

Again, you want to put your best foot forward.

At the morning of your date, it's time to trim your beard if you have one or to get

a nice proper shave.

You can either do a double edge razor shave or you can go with a straight razor shave

at your barbershop, it's up to you.

Just make sure you have a great look.

Also, make sure to take a shower, brush your teeth, go over your nails, remove any nail

dirt, clip and file them, and you can check out how to do that at home in less than 10

minutes in this guide here.

Under no circumstances should you forget deodorant.

You can also add a little bit of cologne.

Make sure you don't overdo it because that has a negative effect.

Before you leave the house, it's time to check your wallet.

Make sure you have enough cash to maybe tip, pay for the valet, or other things that may

occur where you need cash.

Definitely bring your ID in case you get carded and otherwise, make sure that credit cards

are all valid.

Let's say you go to dinner and the cheque arrives, don't let it linger, take the lead,

and offer to pay and just wait for the reaction of the other person.

I always do that even if you know that the date did not go well and that you don't want

to have a second date, it is the least you can do and it's just part of playing the game.

Last but not the least, I suggest you always review what you know about the person, maybe

go through the messages again, maybe through their profile so you understand what they

are and you don't get confused or get things mixed up because that could be quite embarrassing.

I also suggest to check out our guide on 53 great questions to get to know someone because

it will really have a positive effect on how you are perceived by the other person.

Of course, make sure to listen to what they have to say especially if you ask the questions.

Put your phone on silent and don't be late because if you are late on a date, it reflects

very poorly on you and it shows them that you don't respect them and their time and

it's just a very bad start to any date.

In this video, I was wearing a made to measure cotton shirt, button down with casual interlining,

it's very soft and it's checked blue and white, very simple.

I paired it with a stone colored pair of chinos, a chocolate dark brown belt that matched my

double monk strap shoes to add a dash of color and to tie the shoes and the pants together.

I opted for a burgundy and stone colored pair of shadow striped socks which really add a

little dash of color and personality without being overly flashy.

If I wanted to take it a notch up, I'd probably wear a navy blazer or any other jacket maybe

with a collar, probably a solid because my shirt would be patterned and then a simple

pocket square.

I would not wear a boutonniere because that would make it over the top and you don't want

to make it all about your outfit, you just want them to see you and have a positive impression

of you without knowing what's the case.

My dark brown shoes are double monk straps from shoe passion and we have a review about

them here.

As you can see, they have silver buckles and Iwear both of them buckled and I matched the

silver buckle of my belt and my ring is also silver and the carnelian goes well with the

red of my socks that way my outfit is consistent and all tied together.

Game of Thrones, Or The Pain Of Falling Out Of Love With A Story - Duration: 8:31.

I fell in love with Game of Thrones at first sight. You know the reasons. Like

you, I was seduced by the breadth and detail of its world, enamored by the

nuanced characters and their moral complexity. Its commitment to bucking

fantasy tropes enthralled me, and as a writer, it was like opening up a new door

into a whole range of storytelling possibilities that I had never seen

before. But the seams started to tear the moment the show ran out of books to

adapt, and they burst wide open during the seventh season. Now the production

design, the CGI, the music, etc. are all impeccable. And the editing has never

been more fun, but since the season finale I've probably read more than 20

articles about the declining quality of the show's writing, and the problems

listed were almost all the same. The rampant plot holes, the ridiculously

accelerated pacing, the whiplash created by characters teleporting from one place

on the map to another, and the obviously nonsensical plans that the characters

come up with, or rather that the writers forced them to come up with, just so we

can squeeze a little more dragon-fuelled spectacle into the mix. But those

problems just scratch the surface. The two biggest issues as I see it are

one: character consistency; and two a lack of consequence.

It's that characters like Littlefinger and Varys have become shells of their

former selves, their roles in the story diminished slaves, to a plot that they

are not in control of. How characters like Tyrion, Sansa, and others are forced

to act in ways that contradict who they are in order to manufacture temporary

conflict. It's a characters like Jamie, Tormund, and

especially Jon Snow, were written into impossible situations, but managed to

escape scot-free, without growing or changing, and how much of a betrayal that

is to the spirit of the story, where mistakes always had a cost. Game of

Thrones felt like a different show this year, but...you know...I don't want to beat

up on the show too much. My first videos on this channel were a series outlining

my disappointments with the Hobbit trilogy. And while I cringe to look back

at the tone of those videos, I can't deny that there was a cathartic joy in

articulating that feeling of outrage. But there's no anger here to feel

cathartic about, no passion for me to vent. Only the pain of falling out of

love with a story, and that's different from hating it. I think we've all felt

that way before when it comes to TV shows. In fact, I can probably name the

number of shows that got stronger all the way to the series finale on one

finger, because the pressures of creating a serialized story on a schedule almost

invariably lead to compromise. The extended time that a TV series provides

means many shows are great at creating compelling worlds and characters, but

those same conditions make it difficult to deliver a satisfying conclusion. Logic

is usually the first victim, and convenience becomes commonplace. In my

previous video on Game of Thrones, I praised both the show and the books for

being amazing at cultivating empathy for these characters, and making us

emotionally invested in what happens to them. And in watching a show go awry, it

makes me appreciate just how powerful a force empathy is. That we are willing to

overlook narrative missteps so long as we get to spend a little more time with

the characters that we love. Game of Thrones has made writing mistakes before

but they always felt isolated. If the Dorne plot, for instance, was bad

that was okay. There were 50 others to enjoy. It was like one chamber of the

Titanic had filled up with water. It wasn't enough to sink the ship. But then...

Tyrion: so bring the dead to her. Davos: you can't lead a raid beyond the wall.

Brienne why is he still here?

Jon: get a raven to Daenerys Sansa: how do you answer these charges, Lord Baelish?

Off camera: Well, well, if it isn't our old friend, Lord Baelish.

The problems are widespread now, and they're eroding the empathy we had for

these characters. It's that for so long we've been watching and analyzing the

show, because it promised to be something truly different, that at the end of the

road there would be some sort of transcendent experience that would give

us the only thing we ever look for in stories: Meaning.

Game of Thrones promised to be meaningful, and for many seasons and

books, it was. It showed us a side of humanity, a side of ourselves that was

scary. It called into question our inclinations to do good, and how they

might be tied up with our own ego. It showed us at our most sinister, and the

shocking reality that sinister might be a synonym of wise. But all of that has

been rolled back to the comfortable conventions of fantasy, of good

triumphing, and evil being vanquished. Of invincible heroes doing this.

And something has been lost along the way. It all feels routine now. Too

familiar to be meaningful. And it makes me realize that the pain of falling out

of love with a show isn't that you start to hate it. It's that you become

ambivalent about it. It's the awareness that you're just not feeling as excited

or scared or joyful as the story wants you to be. The knowledge that scenes like

this would have you cheering under different circumstances. And yet we go on

watching out of some sense of obligation. Bonded to it by the empathy it hooked us

with in the beginning, blinding ourselves to the faults along the way, because

we're going somewhere right. There has to be some more meaning left, right? It's

like opening up the Ark of the Covenant and finding nothing but sand.

But, well, perhaps this is all too much to ask of a story. Stories, after all, are a

strange alchemy. And they are almost impossible to maintain. For one to go on

this long this well is a minor miracle. So maybe we shouldn't look to the show,

or the books, for answers. The show is quite literally fan fiction, but it never

felt so much like fan fiction than it did this season. So why not look to our

own imaginations for the meaning we crave, to our own fictions. We treat

television, film and literature, like passive mediums, but they don't have to

be. When we play video games we play an active role in creating our own

narratives. That can be true of other mediums as well. Storytelling was

interactive long before our modern notion that the author has some sort of

final say. That there is a definitive text. When you pick up a copy of the

Iliad or the Odyssey, it may say "by Homer" but those stories had generations of

authors. They were part of an oral tradition for hundreds of years before

being set down on paper, each one revising and updating the story. So if

you feel, like I have felt, let down by Game of Thrones, or The Hobbit, or The

Last Airbender, or anything else. Then write your own way out of that feeling.

Replace your anger and disappointment with self-reflection. Part of becoming a

better writer, or indeed a better person, is becoming a more contemplative reader.

Because when I think for a moment about how I wish those stories had gone, all of

my disagreements evaporate. I can return to them like a childhood home, like a

dream, and reaffirmed that the joy of loving stories, and the most constant

source of meaning, isn't just in experiencing them, but thinking about them

A cancer diagnosis sets off a catastrophic tidal wave. The fear, anxiety,

and confusion...

In one moment,

your life story is divided into two chapters - before cancer and after cancer.

And you would give anything to go back to chapter one.

I was diagnosed with cancer in December 2003...two days before Christmas.

I was 26, and it felt like a death sentence.

From there was a whirlwind. I was rushed into surgery and afterwards the doctors told me I was worse than they thought.

Stage 3C colon cancer.

They said I only had a 60% chance of being alive in five years,

and that I needed nine to 12 months of chemotherapy.

I realized that the way I was living was killing me.

I remember thinking if my body created this, maybe my body can heal it.

And then I made the hardest decision of my life...

and that was the decision not to do chemotherapy

The oncologist told me I was insane,

most of my family didn't understand...I was very much alone.

But I was determined to live.

So I started reading and researching like crazy.

I removed everything that may have contributed to my cancer,

I overdosed on nutrition, and did every therapy I could find and afford.

I'm alive and well and cancer-free today

because of the radical changes I made.

I didn't get lucky. I took massive

life-changing action.

Six years after my diagnosis, I started ChrisBeatCancer.com, and immediately people begin asking for help.

So I started coaching cancer patients one-on-one. But after a few years,

the demand got to be way more than I could handle.

I decided to take everything I've learned in the last 12 years from my own experience and from all the other survivors

I know who've healed naturally and distill it down to a simple,

straightforward,

Today, is a very important day.

Because we inaugurate the Faro Airport extension.

It's investments we are doing

to support the growth of the service sector

particularly the tourism sector.

This investment is an answer

to the substantial increase

of the number of passengers, and it's expected growth.

We estimate that it will increase in one to one and a half million.

I'm here with a profound sense of pride

for the work that was done in Faro Airport.

I'm also aware that...

Today we can handle 30 movements per hour

from the previous 24.

With an estimated growth of a minimum of 18%.

Mănăstirea BOGDĂNEȘTI Monastery (Suceava County, Moldova, Romania) - Duration: 5:03.

Bogdanesti Monastery is situated on the outskirts of the Bogdanesti commune (Suceava County), 15 km south of Falticeni

The Bogdanesti Monastery was built beginning with 1994 and was sanctified in 2006

The monastery was founded from the beginning only for the philanthropic purpose, to helping elders and the needy

The founder is the priest Gheorghe Loghinoaia who, helped by the locals, actually reconstructed an old monastery

The present monastery consists of the church, the holy water basin, the bell tower, the monument of Bogdan Voda (the first founder)

In the courtyard of the monastery there is also the philanthropic Christian settlement "The Covering of the Lord's Mother"

The closed porch is separated from the narthex by a carved wood wall with windows

From the entrance to the narthex draw attention the pictures of the parents Arsenie Boca and Iustin Parvu

The church was built from stone in the period 1994-2004 and painted in fresco technique

The furniture is made of oak from the forests of Bucovina

The church is a sanctuary dedicated to Bogdan Voda, the founder of the country and the first founder of the settlement (about 1363)

The main patron of the church is St. Prophet Ilie Tesviteanul, celebrated on the first Sunday after July 20

The second patron of the church, day of pilgrimage, is the feast of the Nativity of Our Lady (September 8)

The first monastery was built here around 1363 by Bogdan I (1359-1365), the founder of the state of Moldova

This settlement was called Bogdanesti Hermitage (or Bogoslov Hermitage)

It was also a reigning church, being located a few kilometers southeast of Baia, the old capital of Moldova

The wooden church was completely destroyed by the Tatars in 1510

Parents Arsenie Boca (from Prislop Monastery) and Iustin Pârvu (from Petru Voda Monastery)

They are very loved by the people, but not yet canonized

With the support of Bogdan III (son of Stephen the Great), the monastery was restored

Nevertheless, in 1542, the ruler Petru Rareş moves the settlement nearby, setting up the Rasca Monastery

The Bogdanesti Monastery continued its existence for short periods as a monks or nuns' hermitages

In front of the church there is the statue (sanctified in 2001) of the first founder, voivode Bogdan I (1359-1365)

Sidewise there are crosses that remind the parents Arsenie Boca and Iustin Pârvu

The Holy Water Basin - a gazebo - the bell tower - the church

The inscription reminds of Priest Gheorghe Loghinoaia, the founder of the present settlement

The philanthropic purpose of the settlement is also stated on Inscription

The philanthropic and christian support center "The Covering of the Lord's Mother", founded in 1995

In addition to this, at the entrance to the monastery there is a new and beautiful home for elders, sanctified in 2010

Everything we see here is built from scratch

Before the priest Gheorghe Loghinoaia began his work, the place was empty, a huge field

All this spiritual and philanthropic settlement was made from one day to the next, "without money"

In the courtyard of the monastery there is an ethnographic corner

In the home of the monastery are catered for 130 elderly or poor people, who was on the verge of despair

Many of them are special cases or have severe infirmities

It should be emphasized that the philanthropic establishment works without help from the state authorities

The main support is the charity and people coming from all corners of the country loaded with those needed for the elderly

For all the homeless who have found relief here, Father Gheorghe Loghinoaia is a saint
