This time on Rad Rat Video, we talk about whether Rodney Mullen deserves

credit for the nollie flip, even if he didn't land it first. Let's get into it.

Welcome back to Rad Rat Video! Here on the channel, you can learn something new

stuff like that. Today, we're doing something a little bit different. I just

wanted to address an article that came out on Transworld a little while ago. So

they have this really cool series where talk about the origins of a certain

trick - origins of the noseblunt, of.. this or that. Stalefish. Recently they did one on

the origins of the nollie flip, and you should definitely go read that. I'm not

going to go in the extreme detail and all that, because it's a really good

article. You should check that out on your own, but to summarize it real quick:

the first nollie flip known to be done on video was in 1990 by Ali Mills, and

so he is skating in this video part. He does a lot of really interesting stuff,

like possibly the first frontside flip on flat. They had been done in mini ramps

before that, but he does this dark stall transfer. There's a lot of really

interesting stuff in that video part. Well he does the first nollie flip, and

for a lot of people that was a huge deal, because back around 1990, the nollie was

a standalone trick. It wasn't a stance. So they talked about that a little bit more,

but you could nollie into a manual, you can nollie into a bank, you can nollie

over a gap, but you wouldn't really do tricks in nollie. You're not thinking

nollie kickflip, nollie 360 flip, it was just one trick: a nollie. And so ,for a lot

of people, seeing that video part really opened up this idea of doing nollies in

their head as a stance. So one thing I'm really jealous of with Transworld is:

when they have a question, they just fire off an email to Rodney Mullen, and they

get it all cleared up. But this time, his answer was actually kind of

controversial. It was causing a lot of discussion around Facebook and in comments

sections and all that kind of stuff, so I thought I would throw my two cents in

there. This is what he said. I'll just quote him

right here: "Heelflips were done with hardly a nod,

merely as putting a minus sign on a kickflip, on one axis. I don't remember

when, but it was clearly shortly after kick flips were first done (circa 1983).

Fakie kickflips were not even considered a variation then -- same with fakie heel

flips. Minus signs directionally. Could make the same argument for double flips. Point

being, I'm not sure if it's worth bothering-- certainly it isn't for me." So I

found that to be very interesting. I think about the way that he learned the

kickflip is essentially, like, he invented a whole category of tricks. Back

then, you had a lot of different types of tricks, you could do finger flips you

could do bonelesses, no complies were starting to come out. I have a video about

that right here. There were a lot of different types of

tricks you could do, and he just invented the idea of bouncing the tail off the

ground and kicking the board, making it flip and landing on it. So whether it

flipped this way or that way, those were all minor variations of this one idea.

The kickflip was the idea of a pop and a flick, whether it's rolling fakie,

forward, switch, and which direction of flips. Didn't really matter. To him anyway.

And I think what he's thinking about is kind of like the 900. So the idea of the

900 isn't that remarkable. Anyone who had seen someone do a McTwist could probably

get the idea: "what if he did another 360?" Right? So they invented that idea, but it

was a race to see who could actually physically do it first. So that's kind of

what he's talking about, where he invented all the different parts of this

trick. Does it really matter who put them together first? So I had a video

about the nollie, and it seems like he probably invented that too. So if he

invented nollies, he invented kickflips, he invented fakie flips, he invented

double kickflips, heelflips, double heelflips. Does it really matter if someone

else squeezed in one variation before he did? And to be fair, he might not have. So

Mullen actually learned nollie backside heels in either '87 or '88. He's

not sure he just remembers what board it was.

And I would imagine he probably did a nollie flip around that time too, maybe as

a stepping stool to get up to that. But the point is: does it really count as an

invention when it's just a variation on something? Does this count as, like, you

know, Mullen does a 360 flip. Well this guy did a 540 flip. Did he invent the 540

flip, or was it just an obvious extension of something that's already there? So I

want to hear your comments about this topic because it's kind of confusing

whether it matters or not. The fact that it has such a big impact shows me that

it does matter, because even if he wasn't the first to do it, even if more advanced

variations had been done -- I know Dan Gallagher was trying nollie hard flips

around that time -- even if other people had done stuff first, he inspired a lot

of people to go out there and do it, and he learned it on his own.

In that article he says he'd never seen anyone else do it.

But I want to read the next part of Mullen's quote. Here what he says, "By

all means, give Ali credit for nollie flips as a street trick if it's in your

heart to do, but also realize by that time, clearly other forms were done, and

could be as hard to designate as a backside shove..." So I have a video about

shove its right here, and the inventor of the frontside shove is pretty obvious.

Backside shove, but not so much. So you get a little context for that right there.

"Concomitantly.." I had to look up the definition of that word. It means

'concurrent, but in a lesser way.' "potentially taking credit from other

street dudes and stirring up strife, as these things sometimes do." So what he's

saying is that a lot of other variations were done. A lot of other people were

doing things too. To point out this one thing as being so important, so big, might

make other people upset. So like I said, he'd been doing nollie backside heels for

a couple years already. Who knows who else were doing other things out there?

So did Ali Mills invent the nollie flip? It's kind of up to you to decide. I

highly doubt he was the first to do it in general. but even if he did.

is it an invention or is it just the first to land it? I know in a lot of my

trick history videos, and my a playlist, I've got a million of them, I

try to phrase things in that way. Where "who landed it first" not necessarily "who

invented it"? Because that can have a different meaning. I want to hear your

thoughts on this topic below, I just wanted to cover this because I thought

it's kind of an interesting topic. Let me know what you think about this, and until

Sheriff David Clarke has just now resigned, says the Chicago Tribune.

Milwaukee County Clerk George Christenson said on Thursday that he got a resignation

letter from Sheriff David Clarke.

Here is what Sheriff David Clarke about Charlottesville.

He supported his response and was one of the very few people to do it.

There is no explicitly named reason for David Clarke's resignation.

His spokeswoman has not immediately responded to telephone messages and emails.

Clarke rose to national prominence in May after announcing that he'd taken a job at

Homeland Security.

It was never confirmed.

He withdrew his name later.

Share this if you hope that Sheriff Clarke got a job at the Trump administration.

He would do a wonderful job helping to bring law and order to this country.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE CASEY NEISTAT TO RECORD A SCENE IN HIS OFFICE?

If there's one thing I like as much as watching Casey's videos

is reading what people on reddit have to comment about him and some specific videos.

A few weeks ago someone wrote that it was possible to figure out how long it takes him

to shoot one of his monologues in the office

by tracking where he is in the Godfather on his monitor.

And that's what I did with the video posted last Saturday.

(Sometimes I'm surprised by my own free time)

(without counting Steve Jobs' segment)

Time needed to record the monologue: 141 seconds

Well, this video is not a big deal, it's just a "fun fact", something I imagined done...

I searched on YouTube and I didn't find anyone who had done it, so I said: "I think I'll make this as a pastime".

Continue to Fast - Spiritual War Zone September 4, 2017

I pray for all of us, dear Heartdwellers, that each day we will choose to conquer our

flesh and serve the Lord more faithfully.

Amen

Well, I blew it today.

I broke a fast, not taking the time to discern if it was permissible for me to do so.

The Lord was silent after communion so I came here and sat down, asking Him, "Lord, is

there something You want to say?"

He answered me, "You broke your fast."

Lord, I thought you brought up the Sunday provision—a day of rest?

And that's true.

I was here in soaking prayer, dwelling prayer, and I really felt the Lord...possibly the

Lord, urging me to go and get some coffee and get ready for a night of work.

And that it was okay to have a biscotti.

Because it's Sunday.

A day of rest.

But...apparently not.

He answered me, "Not for this fast."

He didn't give me permission to break the fast on Sunday, because it's a day of rest.

He said, "Not for this fast.

It is too critical."

I opened the Bible Promises to get a confirmation - and I turned to Lust.

Sigh...

What do I do now except put the Biscotti away, Lord?

"Find a way to make it up to Me."

Okay.

No butter?

"Well, that's a start.That works."

Please, forgive me Lord.

"I forgive you, but next time ask your covering before you vaulting off.

"You are in a war zone, Clare.

You have many enemies and they are doing their best to bring you down.

I will not allow it if you follow My directives, even as I have taught you before.

Brotherly Love.

They will try to create enmity and infighting.

Stay in brotherly love at all times and no matter what it looks like, be loving and lenient.

You cannot win this battle alone; that is why you saw the warrior angel at the sign

of peace.

He told you, you are in a battle."

And that's exactly how it happened.

At the sign of peace, a very large warrior angel came up to me and said, "Whoof!

You're in a BIG spiritual battle!"

I was oblivious to it.

And today Ezekiel got a Rhema message from the Heartdwellers web site and it was all

about brotherly love and the Lord's promise to protect us if we continue to be loving,

forgiving, patient and kind with everyone.

Well, I have to admit, I have been struggling for two days now with the heat, and little

things here and there.

Things that should have been handled more responsibly—but were ignored and caused

a waste of time as well as a near accident.

I got angry about these things, although I didn't tell the parties responsible.

I have calmed down, but now I see there is a war going on to injure the core group.

And Jesus has been warning me for days that there is a also a Judas, a betrayer among

us.

I'm just praying for the strength to forgive and keep being faithful to you, my dear Heartdwellers.

Jesus continued, "Vigilance is of the utmost importance right now.

Do nothing hastily and do not rebuke in anger.

Wait until you have cooled down, mention it with gentleness and then let it go.

They are little things, Clare.

Yes, I know they cause you extra work because certain ones can be sloppy.

I understand.

But just as a penance for Me, try to take it better and offer the inconvenience to Me

for the world condition."

Well, today I was praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet and I saw Jesus with the crown of

thorns suffering terribly on the Cross.

It was not easy to see.

I also got off track a couple of times today and wasted time.

Now, at the end of the night, I am so tired.

I don't know if I can stay away to do what is really important.

Jesus broke in and said, "Beloved, be more self-controlled and vigilant.

For the most part, you are doing way better, but improvement can be made.

You are doing well, My Love.

Cooperate with Me to do better?"

Yes, Lord.

"You see, so much hinges on how well you do now.

Your faithfulness to music.

I have opportunities planned for you but you must be ready.

You need to be more strict with yourself—you are too passive.

You allow circumstances to dictate to you what will get done and what will not get done.

This is not good.

You need more discipline and prioritizing.

And that needs to start tomorrow.

"It doesn't look like much to you now.

When you don't quite make all the time you should for practice you say, 'Oh, I'll catch

up tomorrow.'

And look at your tomorrow—which was today—and still you are not practiced.

And you are tired at this point, ready to go to bed.

You are wasting time, My love, still too bound up in trivia.

I know some of the things you did were important, but others were unnecessary.

Please, Clare, be more self-aware and correct yourself.

Heed My voice when I prompt you, 'You're wasting time…'

"I am giving you more time, but you are wasting it.

It feels good to be able to sit down and relax and read a few things, or listen to a Youtube,

because they catch your attention, your curiosity."

That happens every time I put a film up, every time I put a Youtube up.

There's something that really grabs your attention.

Like the hurricane thing that's going on.

And...I just shouldn't have looked at it.

And the Lord continued, and He said, " And these were arranged by the enemy to do just

that.

To pull you off track and waste your time.

Like that huge urge for chocolate.

Where do you suppose that came from?"

A masquerading spirit?

"That's correct.

And you fell for it.

You wanted that cookie, so you didn't discern properly.

There are many such traps set up for you during the day and you've been lagging behind and

falling for some of them.

Others you've seen - and you've sidestepped them.

And for that I am very grateful.

"You need to be more detached in looking at your own behavior.

I need you to spot your weak points, be aware of them and anticipate a trap from the enemy.

They will always play on your desire for something—that's the easiest way to distract you.

Whether it be for a neater house, or something to eat, or something to read...

They will play on your desires.

"What Ezekiel told you was very relevant."

Well, tonight Ezekiel and I were talking about a saint of the eastern church - because as

I was having a communion service, I saw him at the sign of peace.

And this happens frequently with saints that I've already been in Heaven with, and I've

already met.

This was

St. Charbel, who lived in a monastery and they used to say, "When tempted to do something,

consider Heaven."

St. Francis used to say, "Ask Sister Death."

In other words when you stand before the Father in Heaven, will you be ashamed if you give

in to this temptation?

If you will—then don't do it.

Envision yourself standing before God and having to give an accounting for this sin,

or indulgence.

This will help you not to do it.

Lord, help us.

"Yes, I will, if you are listening very carefully.

But one tends to get deaf around the aroma of warm chocolate cookies.

You can do better, My Love, you really can—and you almost did.

But you were tired and you reasoned, 'This is Sunday and I always have the freedom from

fasting on Sunday.'

"But you didn't ask, or I would have told you, 'No.

This is too critical.

Continue to fast.'

"You see, the enemy knows that, and he sent in a temptation to make you fall.

But I have reinstated you on your word to give up another indulgence.

And this time, you won't be so foolish.

I will tell you when the fast can end."

Jesus continued, "Well, for all of you who consider yourselves a part of this ministry,

I have asked you to give up things.

For the older ones among you, sacrifice things you enjoy.

For the younger, bread and water or rice and water and tea or coffee is permitted.

Some of you cannot pray without it.

If you cannot fast on bread and water, use peanut butter & honey on bread and eat it

one meal a day, during the day with two snacks.

This is a good, healthy fast.

The meal should not be your favorite or something you really enjoy—make it very simple.

"These are powerful offerings, My people, truly they are.

That is why Satan has sown so much confusion about them—to keep you from making any sacrifices.

But I have told you, your fasts and prayers are powerful.

So, do not let the enemy talk you out of it.

"If you are at an occasion where there is a celebration meal, do not tell others about

your fast.

Rather, discretely eat very little of the food and most will not even notice you are

not eating.

In fact, on every offering that you make, keep it hidden, lest you receive your reward

down here like the Pharisees who loved to be noticed when they fasted and prayed.

Parading your penances and gifts to Me before men also leads to Pride.

So keep them secret between us."

As an aside on that, St. Francis used to drop the food into a napkin on his lap and later

feed it to the beggars that came to the door.

And I just remembered, a Daniel fast, rice and vegetables, is also a good offering that

the Lord has accepted in the past.

Jesus continued, "My People, your prayers are working.

DO NOT STOP NOW.

We are still at a critical juncture.

Why do you suppose these hurricanes are so devastating?

All the loss that others suffer cries out to Heaven and they, too, are joining Us with

these things.

Though they are not aware of it in their intellect, in their spirit it is understood.

This IS a sacrifice to prevent the beginning of the War and the Tribulation.

"How blessed you will be if you do these things.

I am with you.

Call on Me frequently for My help.

I am here for you."

What is the gospel?

It is faith in Jesus Christ.

In His finished work,

but not just in His finished work.

But in the person of the resurrected Son of God.

Christianity is not just a world religion.

But listen to me closely.

Genuine experience with God is faith, resting,

in who Jesus Christ is;

and what Jesus Christ has done.

It's not just a matter of believing something he did for me 2,000 years ago.

But it's believing that he is alive at this moment

and that He will become real in my heart and life,

as I trust Him and as I walk with Him.

You know what Paul said about this in Romans Chapter 10?

He said if we confess with our mouth the Lord Jesus

and believe in our heart -- what?

That God crucified Him?

No, that's not what He said?

That He died on the cross?

That is not what He said.

That we could invite Him into our heart?

That is not what He said.

If we believe that God RAISED Him from the dead we shall be saved.

In other words Paul is saying you're dealing with a living Christ.

You're not dealing with a dead idea.

You're not dealing with just a historical fact,

though it is rooted in historical fact.

You are dealing with a living Christ.

Faith in Christ.

Good news is - the gospel is: salvation comes by faith in Jesus Christ.

Now hear this, hear this.

There's two sides to this,

I mentioned it a moment ago.

There's conviction which brings repentance,

genuine repentance.

Repentance brings you to the place where you're sick of yourself,

you're sick of your efforts.

You might not even understand or have any thought of the gospel, hardly in your mind,

but you're sick of yourself.

You're sick of your self-efforts.

You're crying out for something different.

You want to change.

"Oh I hate my sin!"

"I hate who I am!"

"I want to quit this stuff!"

"I want to quit living a double life."

"I don't want to live one way down at the church house;

and another way over at the school house;

and another way out yonder in my life somewhere."

"I want to be real!"

"Oh God help me!"

And repentance begins to work in that life

and as repentance works the Spirit of God,

at just the right moment points us to a saving Lord.

The resurrected Christ,

who did die for our sins, praise God;

and whom God did raised from the dead,

hallelujah,

and who is Lord of lords and will be Lord of lords forever.

That's good news.

And when when a person comes to the place where he sees himself as lost

and he needs a Savior,

that's the place where he can be saved.

You can read all the tracts and sign them all you want to.

Invite Jesus into your heart a thousand times a day,

and pray the sinner's prayer till you are blue in the face.

But that doesn't work, until God works.

But boy I tell you what, if the Holy Spirit ever points you to Christ.

"There's something wrong with you."

It wasn't that kind of thing.

It was something...

there's something right at the root of who you are,

there's something really wrong with you.

You see I had made up my mind I was going to stop doing some things,

and I couldn't.

And I made up my mind that I was going to start doing some things,

and I couldn't,

I couldn't stay with it.

That gospel preacher just kept on preaching.

His favorite verse,

in fact I don't know that he didn't know but this one verse, half the time,

"If any man be in Christ he is a new creature

old things are passed away all things become new." (2 Cor. 5:17)

And he'd look straight at me and point at me, I think, and say,

"If you've really been saved you can't live like you used to live."

And eventually the Spirit of God continued to pound that message in my heart.

Until I realized,

though I had made a profession of faith when I was eight years old;

though I've been baptized;

though I was legally a church member;

I realized I was lost before a holy God,

and and I needed to be saved.

I didn't know how to be saved.

I didn't know what to do.

I didn't know, I didn't know about faith in Christ.

So I went to that pastor and he pointed me straight to Jesus.

And I want to tell you...

the night I believed from my heart.,

just exactly like what Paul said,

that Jesus Christ had been raised from the dead,

and was then alive in glory.

God changed my heart and saved me that morning.

"If any man be in Christ he is a new creation

old things have passed away and all things have become you you."

Tom's Burger Food Review & Tower Burger Challenge!! - Duration: 9:54.

Hello everyone, here is a Steel Rod Radim and another eating video.

Today I'm at the restaurant Tom's Burger in Prague, Czech Republic. I'm going to a special challenge to use the voucher in value of 1000 CZK,

that I won here half a year ago in the eating contest. As first I'll eat this Tower Burger, which is a new challenge here, and then I'll eat the rest.

Time to start. 3, 2, 1, start!

I finished the Tower Burger Challenge in 4:15. Super burger, great meat and sauces, really delicious.

Now it's time to eat the rest of the food.

8 minutes gone, I just finished Blue Cheese Burger.

Excellent combination of blue cheese and onion marmalade, so delicate.

Now it's time for the Boston Burger.

12 minutes and 40 seconds gone, I just finished the Boston Burger.

The best thing about this burger was the caramelized onions and herb mayonnaise.

A great combination.

Now it's time for Tom's Burger.

19 minutes gone, I finished the Tom's Burger.

In this burger was the fried egg and Coleslaw. Also a great combination.

Now it's time to Beef Burrito.

27 minutes gone, I just finished Burrito, a great combination of beef, cheese and jalapeno peppers.

Also a good choice.

Now it's time for Jack Daniel's Burger.

35 minutes and 18 seconds, I just finished this special 1000 CZK challenge.

Super burgers, really great choice to visit Tom's Burger. The meat was perfectly cooked and juicy.

Each burger had a unique taste, so great burgers, also the burrito was good.

Overall it's a great restaurant, you should definitely come.

Paludarium (HMF/TLH) | Tropisches Terrarium und Garnelen Aquarium - Duration: 10:17.

A fat hello to all Aquaterraner, Today I build a hamburg matten filter, a Czech airlift and a under gravel filter in my Tropical Terrarium with waterfall

The Tropical Terrarium I have built by hand around an aquarium, check my videos there you can find an exact construction video.

Currently, 4 frogs live in this terrarium and it was near to build a fully functional aquarium with HMF and TLH in the water section. How I did that you can see here:

First of all, I resettled the frogs and cleaned the whole waterpart with boiling water. All structures in the water section are sealed with epoxy resin, just like the waterfall

The centerpiece in this paludarium is a PVC pipe which ends through the waterfall in the ceiling, here I pass through my cables and hoses

For the waterfall I use a frugal corner filter with 1 Watt, I experimented a lot of and this variant is by far the most reliable. Like all other cables, I also connect the plug through the PVC tube, from the bottom to the top, with a hose

The corner filter itself stands on a filter sponge to dampen the vibrations in my later clear water chamber. The hose comes into the waterfall and is connected to the corner filter

Next you will see my Czech airlift, the smallest I have ever built, 16 mm in diameter and about 15 cm high.

Both air lifts are operated exclusively with air via an air compressor

What looks like a flute is the intake pipe of the under gravel filter

Finally, I need a fine mat filter, cut and with punched-out holes for the air lifts, the principle of the Hamburg mat filter is based on the largest possible surface for various bacterial cultures. This is guaranteed with this mat in miniature form and I am now building everything together

The air lifts are inserted through the pre-punched holes and at the lower part of the mat a recess for the under gravel filter

The gray cable is by the way a heating cable which I use not very often, the mat is pressed with the airlifts to the desired position, the mat can be cut somewhat larger, then it fits exactly

A generous pile of coarse-grained zeolite is now being added around the suction tube of the under gravel filter, which is supposed to bind the pollutants and prevent the ground from being sucked

I use an active granulate as a soil base, only recommended when using osmotic water, as the acidic and alkaline substances in the soil will otherwise lose their effectiveness

The ground is poured unwashed about four to five centimeters high

Wasser marsch for the distilled water, 15 liters fits in here

For the water drainage I use this standard corner filter outlet. Even if it is not very realistic or natural looking, it fulfills its purpose and at the same time increases the moisture in the terrarium, the frogs at any rate love it.

What is still to be observed; Caution Frogs do not hunt exclusively dwarf shrimp, but these are also on the menu, but are rarely caught.
