Lakha was a boy from a poor family
His father had only a little bit of land where he would do labourious work
but they would barely make ends meet
They had to take out a load for the elder sister's wedding which made it hard financially
there were still 2 younger sisters that needed to be married
The cost of school for the sisters was not being met either
Lakha had heard that by going to Canada your poverty gets washed away and you become rich
So he now wanted to go to Canada very badly
He would dream every day of going to Canada
But seeing the condition of his family he couldn't figure out how to go to Canada
He needed many Lakhs of Rupees to go to Canada which they did not have
One way was to sell the land or take a loan against it
and to go to Canada and raise enough money to pay back the debt
He finally spoke to his Bebe and Bapu
He told them that if he goes to Canada he will raise enough money to pay their debt and to marry off the sisters in a grandeur way
His parents were innocent and wanted to get out of poverty some how
but they were also afraid to take a loan against the land
because this little bit of land was their only means of income
With a lot of faith Lakha said
"Bapu, don't worry if I just go to Canada once I will wash away the poverty of our family"
Bebe and Bapu finally agreed
and Lakha took a loan against the land and went to Canada
When Lakha go to Canada he was totally flabbergasted
he started working right away but whatever money he would earn he wasted in profligacy
He got into bad company, all of the boys he met were involved with girls and drank liqour
Quickly Lakha got into a relationship with a girl and all of the money he would earn would be spent on her
Engaging in profligacy with his friends and in the false love of his girlfriend
He forgot what he came to Canada to do
He forgot that his Bebe and Bapu and sisters were dependent on him
Bapu tried calling him but he was totally engrossed in profligacy
The land had a loan against it
So Bapu started to work labour and the sister's stopped going to school due to lack of money
The family was very miserable but Lakha was busy enjoying himself and forgot everything
After some time another boy from Lakha's pind came to Canada as well but he was Gursikh
He came and told Lakha the reality of his family and how they are in total ruin
His father is now working as a labourer
Sisters are now at home and very worried about their future
Bebe is in a very bad state
because on one hand she is worried about her daughters and on the other she is worried about her son who is gone abroad
The Gursikh told off Lakha and told him to man-up
Lakha understood and then regretted what he had done
Lakha's work permit was about to expire but he hadn't done any savings
He pleaded to the Gursikh brother to show him the the right path
and tell him how he should get out of his bad situation
The Gursikh after hearing his whole story said
for him to first stop seeing that girlfriend of his
and to give up bad company and live with him
Lakha agreed and started to work hard again
He took out some money from the bank and sent it to India
and got an extension on his work permit
By the time his work permit ended he had made enough money to free the land from the bank
made enough to get his sisters married and he had enough money for himself as well
When he went back to his pind his Bebe Bapu hugged him and the whole pind respected him
thankfully Lakha got the Sangat of a Gursikh
due to which his life was changed
But we ask you to look into your heart and tell us
that whatever Lakha was doing before meeting the Gursikh was it right or wrong?
If it was wrong then contemplate what you are doing is it right or wrong?
You must be thinking what wrong have you done, then listen
Guru Sahib is saying that we have obtained this human body so that
we can meet Vaheguru jee this time
So nothing else will come of use to you so meet with SadhSangat and Jap Naam
Oh mortal you have come here to accumulate spiritual profit what have you engrossed yourself in
Your whole life is passing by
You have come to this world to listen to and read Gurbani
But you are greedy for worldly things and wasting your life like this
Who is Lakha in this story
This is the Soul which comes to this world to accumulate wealth of Naam
So he can get a good and permanent place in Dargah
The girlfriend who is was wasting all his money on is actually Maya
and the friends who were making him do bad things are actually Kaam Krodh Lobh Laziness, Jealousy ect,
which don't let the Jeev do any good deeds
The Pindu who came and made Lakha see the light is actually SadhSangat
By going to SadhSangat the Jeev learns what he is here to do
The Jeev should go to Sangat and listen to Guru Sahib and obey
otherwise he will remain engrossed in Maya and this world
He will leave this world emptyhanded and get beat by Jamdhoot
There are many more such Gurbani Panktis which tell us that our purpose for coming here
is by Jaaping Naam, doing Keertan, doing Gurbani Vichaar and Paath
to fulfill our life
Jeev is not here to make mansions and palaces
not to accumulate wealth enough for 7 generations
not to obtain high positions
not to become ministers
not to become Birla Tata and Ambani
Not officers or heroes or actors
not hooligans
and not to violate girls with salacious actions
and not to do more such worldly works
We have gotten this life to meet Vaheguru by becoming Gursikhs
WE have done preparations to do everything else
but we are not making any real efforts to become Gursikhs
If we do become Gursikhs we treat it like some extra thing
If we have time we do Paath otherwise we left it
If we have time we go to Gurdwara otherwise left it
If we can wake up for Amritvela we wakeup otherwise left it
If we are able to keep hair we keep it otherwise left it
If you can avoid Kaam then avoid it otherwise left it and find a girlfriend
Sikhi and Gurmat are not a priority for us
It's some extra work that if we are able to do it after doing everything else then we do it otherwise left it
Sikhi should be above all else in our life
Sikhi should be given priority if after that other stuff gets done then its good otherwise left it
Amritvela should be given priority
if some worldly work gets left then its fine but Amritvela should not be missed
Hair should be kept no matter what
If some worldly obtainment is made by cutting hair
then send admonishments to that obtainment and keep your hair intact
Paath and Nitnem should be done strongly
and if by doing so some worldly work gets left then left it
Keep this kind of mindset and attitude in life
in which Siri Guru Nanak Dev jee and Siri Guru Gobind Singh jee are above all else
If we keep Akal Purakh above all else in our lives
then Akal Purakh will also keep us above all else
On whose side Akal Purakh Vaheguru jee is
can he ever be left on the bottom?
can he be left behind?
never
by keeping Akal Purakh first we will not only attain high spiritual heights
but we will be Chardikala in the worldly sense as well
We hope that our Sikh brothers and sisters will keep Gursikhi above all else
and will then only do worldly works
and they will not forget that we are here to be Gursikhs
and not to fulfil Maya works
Yes to live in this world we have to do worldly works as well
but these should all be secondary to Bhagti

Sikhs shouldn't by lazy towards their worldly duties
but our message is that Sikhs should be focused on their life's purpose
attaining Vaheguru jee should be put above all
