And i know the world around is always changing

And there's a perfectly imperfect way to be

But every time i'm with you my bodies aching

you are what I need

you are what I need

But you go on and you dance with the devil

and you come home to put your arms around me

to put your arms around me

See you being sorry

it don't do me no good though I wish it did

though I wish it did

And you saying sorry

it just don't change what it should

though I wish it could

though I wish it could you being sorry just don't do me no good

And I've always followed lights and inspiration

and all my different loves have been lost along the way

and I get caught up in these lofty expectations

But it's just not the same no more

it's just not the same

and you go on and you dance with the devil

and you come home to put your arms around me

Saskatchewanderer Live Posts from the 2017 Queen City Marathon - Duration: 3:11.

I think they're starting.

There is about 6500 people here, don't quote me on that.

We are about to take off.

Wish us luck!

I'll be checking in with you guys every kilometre or so if I can.

We're coming up on our first water station here.

One kilometre down. 20.1 to go.

We've reached 5 kilometres!

And we are going to touch this sign for power.

Water station again... thanks boys.

We're still doing alright.

Just a quick update for you, I was getting a little tired back there, then I ran past

a guys balcony and he was blasting Eye of the Tiger. Now I could run another 10k for sure.

So we've just reached 9k, which is officially the longest I've ever ran in my entire life.

The sweat is flowing, the blood is pumpin', we're almost halfway there.

I just ran past a guy who was playing the base guitar.

An air base.

That's all the motivation I need.

We just passed the 14k mark, I would really like to dive headfirst into the lake and float

to the bottom right now.. sink to the bottom.

Sorry, my brain is not super clear.

Give me a break.

You're only tired if you think you're tired.

Beat it mentally.

Beat it mentally!

I've lost track of which water station we're on.

I'm not exactally sure what the wheel mile is.

Turns out I am really good at getting leg cramps.

I'm on Albert street.

Send bananas!

So I think we only got about 2.5k left.

I'm doing surprisingly better than I thought.

It's a blood bath out here, I definitely should have stretched.

I want to tell you something super quick, before the home stretch here alright...

So we shape our lives through our thoughts.

We can literally go as far as our mind lets us.

The reason you think you can't do something, is the exact reason why you should.

Push yourself. Get outside your comfort zone. Do something awesome

and explore Saskatchewan.

Now I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I haven't stopped running yet and I'm not going to!

I'm going to turn on some pump up music and I will see you guys at the finish line.

I forgot to eat my Gu...

Oh, no

What's Your favorite scene from The Color Purple?

There are a lot to pick from in the flick starring Whoopi Goldberg.

She plays a black Southern woman who struggles to find her true identity

after suffering abuse from family members over four decades.

I really like the scene where Shug Avery came to herself.

(Gospel music playing in the background: Yes! My souls says yes!)

Singing: Yes!

Singing: If I were you, I would say yes! Speak Lord!

Speak Lord!

Speak to me!

Shug really was living any ole way, living her life of sin.

But still, God did not give up on her.

How is God going to be trying to tell her something and she's living foul?

Now the bible does say that the perverse of heart shall be far from him

and he'll have nothing to do with an evil and wicked heart.

But God, in his great mercy can send us a word even when we're in our darkest place.

And no matter what's going on in the heavens, it's in our best interest to chase after God.

The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood

before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord.

And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

But what if I'm already saved and have issues?

God's got you covered there too.

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face

and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin

and will heal their land.

‭‭So you have to humble yourself under the mighty hand of God and submit.

Submit?

Yes, submit.

Some people try to put God in a box and think they have gone too far down for Him to pick them up.

But the Bible says in Romans that whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved

and David told us that God can meet us anywhere.

You don't have a place dark enough where God can't find you.

I could ask the darkness to hide me and the light around me to become night—

but even in darkness I cannot hide from you.

To you the night shines as bright as day.

Darkness and light are the same to you.

Now just because God shows us grace and speaks to us in the midst of our sin,

does that mean we should stay there?

Nope!

That's right.

God's mercy is to draw us into repentance.

But some folks refuse to change, and you have to know there are consequences when we insist

on staying and living in sin.

Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature.

But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit.

‭We need the Spirit of God in our lives in order to change and become a reflection of God's glory.

That's all for today.

Is God trying to tell you something?

Yes He is!

Take time to listen and allow the Holy Spirit to lead and guide you into all truths.

And take the limits off that your mind tries to place on God!

Remember He is able to do exceeding abundantly above and beyond all we can think or imagine

according to the power that works in us.

We get our power from Him!

We sure do!

Fireproofing Fabric - Duration: 7:17.

The untreated

This is the rinsed

Fully treated

For performing future experiments I would like to have a way to make my clothes or other material I'm

wearing or have around fireproof. To do that I found

information in the Dangerous Book for Boys that

claims to be able to make cloth fireproof and I

believe that that what they are saying is correct but i want to test it on a

variety of different cloths. In the Dangerous Book for Boys they said that any porous cloth could be made fireproof

by mixing

500 grams of aluminum potassium sulfate

with a pint of water, which is two cups. When I tried to mix 250 grams of aluminum potassium sulfate

in one cup of water not much of it dissolved. I have about three and a half cups of water

here and

there still undissolved aluminum potassium sulfate

in the mixture.

So that

doesn't seem to be very correct.

They were probably measuring it as

hydrated, which It can take 12 water molecules for every molecule of

aluminum potassium sulfate or alum and

the stuff I have may or may not have been

hydrated. I assumed it was because that's how it's most commonly found and this was not like a scientific supply,

but who knows?

I going to continue by putting this cloth in water and seeing what it does.

For one set of cloth I'm going to be wringing it out afterwards.

I think how it works is to get the aluminum potassium sulfate in is

the water evaporates and the aluminum potassium sulfate is left behind.

Another set I'm going to not wring out but just let drip dry and

then give It a little rinse in water because they thought that getting it a little bit wet wouldn't ruin it

The third I'm

going to just let drip dry and test as is. And I will have a fourth set of control which I'll test without the treatment.

I have a variety of cloths, some synthetic,

some wool, and some cotton and I want. to see one which ones burn

untreated better or worse and then which ones how they react to treatment.

For the ones where I'm giving them a little bit of a water treatment I'm just going to

plunk them in and shake them around a little bit,

let them drip dry and then put them on this.

Basically to see how well

the alum

reacts a little bit of water and I know it's not much

and this is just cold tap water so it's not even that good

for dissolving stuff,

but it's a test

I've also

put three different

paper products, some just kinda white paper,

some cardboard, and some newspaper to see how those react to this

fireproofing treatment, or fire resistant treatment

And I should note that the

untreated stuff is really soft,

the fully treated stuff is really hard, the rinsed is really hard and so is the squeezed out stuff so

there's an obvious difference between the untreated and the rest of them but between the other ones it isn't so big.

Before we get to lighting things on fire

I also notice the cloth dried out very slowly after it had been treated.

I then proceeded to test each of the 14 fabrics for flammability

I applied a

propane blowtorch to each of the fabrics. The amount of time that this was applied was not the same or even well controlled

but I think I have an idea about

wow each of the samples reacted. In general the untreated fabric burned much easier than the treated material

with the air dried unrinsed fabric, what I call fully treated being the most fireproof.

however the other two types of treatment, the squeezed out and rinsed performed almost as well.

Each different sample performed differently but in general, the wool did not burn whether treated or untreated.

The untreated cotton burned while though the treated cotton would have flames for a second or two after a heavy

application of the blowtorch It would quickly go out.

The synthetic would melt, the treatment also seemed to reduce this melting, and both treated and untreated wood burn

but it was harder to get the treated burning.

The paper all burned though there was an increase in the amount of time It took to light the treated paper.

I now realized that using a blowtorch was a stress test as I am

unlikely to have such intense heat and wish I had also tested a sample or two of each type with a smaller flame,

particularly the synthetic fabric. I also wish I had given the rinsed fabric more of a rinsing, maybe a night out in the rain.

These clips are just a sample of what I filmed while testing. If you would like to see the full length video

there will be a link in the description and on screen.

I feel this experiment shows that aluminum potassium sulfate can greatly reduce the flammability of fabric.

When picking clothes to wear around a fire my first choice would be wool, which does not need to be treated.

My second choice would be cotton whose flammability can be greatly reduced by treating it.

Ten Tips to Prevent and Treat Iris Prolapse - Duration: 5:23.

Hey everybody, this is Steve Christiansen, and in this video I will share ten tips to prevent and treat iris prolapse. First, let's begin with prevention.

Tip #1 is to create a longer wound.

One of the factors driving the pressure-driven movement of the iris to the wound is the distance from the iris to the internal opening of the corneal wound.

If you are concerned about the potential for iris prolapse, consider making a slightly longer clear corneal wound.

Tip #2 is to avoid overfilling the anterior chamber with viscoelastic.

Beginning cataract surgeons, myself included, often overfill with viscoelastic as it is easier to make the main wound in a firm eye,

however this creates a larger pressure differential between the anterior and posterior chambers, and increases the risk of iris prolapse

particularly during hydrodissection.

A rule of thumb that I try to follow, is that if I am getting a lot of viscoelastic spilling out of the paracentesis,

I have probably overfilled the AC and should be weary of possible prolapse.

Tip #3 is to remove excessive viscoelastic before hydrodissection.

This video shows a resident surgeon treating iris prolapse by removing viscoelastic from the AC,

but the same principle applies to preventing iris prolapse.

Hydrodissection poses the greatest risk of prolapse, and taking measures to prophylactically lower the anterior chamber pressure by removing viscoelastic is critical in this prevention.

Tip #4 is to create a fluid tract before hydrodissection.

Here you can see the surgeon injecting BSS and manually creating a path for BSS to exit the eye in hydrodissection.

This helps avoid the situation where the BSS cannot leave the eye without taking with it viscoelastic,

which could result in a rapid decrease in the anterior chamber pressure, which is a main risk factor for prolapse.

Tip #5 is to support the iris mechanically with iris hooks or with a ring stabilizer.

This can be done by either placing a single iris hook posterior to the main wound,

or by placing the hooks in a diamond configuration

with one of the hooks posteriorly in a similar fashion.

Alternatively, a Malyugin ring stabilizer can be used as seen here.

Mechanically supporting the iris is particularly helpful if you are concerned about possible intraoperative floppy iris syndrome.

Now let's talk about intraoperative treatment of iris prolapse.

As soon as iris prolapse occurs, the knee-jerk reaction is to want to immediately push the iris back into the eye.

It can be tough to overcome this urge,

but realize that it is usually in stuffing the iris back in that pigment is permanently lost from the posterior iris.

Also, rarely is this actually effective.

Instead, you should immediately go to the paracentesis and release trapped fluid or viscoelastic to decompress the AC.

In this case, you can see that burping viscoelastic helps create a potential space to reposit the iris, but this is actually not enough,

and only by removing excess viscoelastic using a cannula followed by additional burping from the main wound,

was the iris able to be reposited easily.

Tip #7 is to once again to decompress the anterior chamber and then reposit the iris.

Here we show a case of iris and lens prolapse during hydodissection.

The surgeon does a nice job to resist the urge to reposit the iris immediately,

and recognizes the fluid trapped behind the lens,

going in with a Drysdale to gently rock the lens, releasing the trapped fluid.

The iris can then be reposited.

Here you can see a case of prolapse during irrigation aspiration.

The first move is to decompress the anterior chamber from the paracentesis, as we've mentioned multiple times before.

Tip #8, which you can see here, is to gently stroke the main wound with a cannula,

this helps the iris be released back into the eye.

Once you have successfully put the iris back into the eye,

you should be thinking about how to keep the iris from prolapsing again during the remainder of the case.

One option, as you can see here, is to lower the intraocular pressure or bottle height,

and decrease the aspiration flow rate,

which helps avoid large fluctuations in anterior chamber pressure

and decreases the risk of repeat prolapse.

The final tip is to avoid making a bad situation worse.

After prolapse, the iris architecture has been disrupted,

and even a seemingly simple step like inserting the IOL

could catch the peripheral iris and cause an iridodialysis.

Notice here the subtle pause after inflating the capsular bag

to place viscoelastic right below the main wound

to then create more space for IOL insertion.

Managing iris prolapse seems simple, yet it can nonetheless be challenging to deal with,

as you've seen from these excerpts of my own surgical videos, as well as segments of videos published by Dr. Tom Oetting at the University of Iowa.

I hope you have found these tips to be helpful.

Once again, this is Steve Christiansen, thanks for watching.

Caregiver Coffeebreak Intro - Duration: 2:46.

Hi, thanks for stopping by

Welcome to the caregiver coffee break. My name is Breeda Miller, and I am the Caregiver Champion.

Don't worry there was no competition. You didn't miss a deadline.

Because caregiving is not a competition in spite of what your sister might think.

No, my role as a caregiver champion is I feel that my mission in life is to inspire, honor,

And support caregivers of all types. So whether you are a professional caregiver working for an organization,

Maybe you travel to people's homes and take care of them.

Maybe you work in a facility and just take care of a lot of people.

Maybe you are a family caregiver and now you're taking care of your mom or your dad or both,

Or your spouse or some other relative.

Maybe you're a mom with small children.

Maybe you have special needs kids. I know a little bit about that world.

Regardless of how you identify yourself as a caregiver

So many of us, our experiences are the same, That sense of frustration,

Exhaustion and

isolation.

The Caregiver Coffee break was an idea I had when I

do an awful lot of speaking to groups about

Caring for the caregiver, and

People would come up to me afterwards and say Breeda., I loved your talk.

It was really good, but I wish my mom could have been here.

But she couldn't come because she had to stay home with grandma. I thought about that and I thought

how can I reach out. How can I reach the caregivers who can't leave the person easily that they're caring for and

help them.? So the idea of the Caregiver Coffee-break is that it's a soft spot that you can land every day.

To just refresh yourself, to charge your batteries. Maybe you'll get a little inspiration.

Maybe you will learn something new. Maybe you'll get a good laugh.

The caregiver coffee break is designed for a wide variety of caregivers.

So I hope that you'll be able to schedule it during your day.

Because there'll be a different one every day. Pour yourself a cup of coffee, a cup of tea

Maybe a glass of water.

Maybe an adult beverage. You know I don't know no judging no judging here and that we can be there to support you.
