10 Amazing Facts About Planet Earth - Duration: 18:47.

Planet Earth is an amazing place, to say the least.

And even though we've been living on its surface our entire life, there are still a

lot of things we don't know about it.

Many things that we do know are awe-inspiring.

What's even more interesting about some of these is the fact that they have wide-scale

implications on everything around them.

But why try to be so mysterious, if we can give you 10 such examples, right?

10.

Planet Earth and a Cue Ball

We all know the Earth is big, there's no denying it.

But when it really comes down to it, we have a hard time coming to grips with its actual

dimensions.

So, in order to make things more relatable, let's take a look at mountains.

Those of us who have been fortunate enough to see or even climb Mount Everest can attest

to the fact that it's incredibly huge and incredibly humbling.

But most people don't even need to see any of the tallest mountains in the world to know

that mountains are big.

Now, let's take our mental image of mountains as points of reference when we talk about

the dimensions of the Earth.

We know that the average diameter of the planet is of about 7,900 miles.

It's important to note here that Earth is not a perfect sphere, but rather an oblate

spheroid.

This means that, because it's spinning on its axis, the diameter at the equator is bigger

than the distance between the poles by about 27 miles.

And beside these differences, the planet also has some bumps and dents, but they're much

smaller than 27 miles.

With this information in mind, if we were to scale the planet down to the size of an

average cue ball, we would come to an incredible realization.

According to the World Pool-Billiard Association (WPA) Tournament Table and Equipment Specifications,

every new ball should measure 2.25 inches in diameter and only have imperfections that

cannot exceed 0.005 inches.

By making the proper calculations here, it turns out that the biggest "imperfection"

on Earth can be 17 miles and fall within WPA standards.

While Mount Everest is almost 5.5 miles tall, and the Mariana trench is 6.8 miles deep,

if they were taken together, side by side, the sum is still below the 17 mile margin.

The same thing applies to the difference in diameter between the poles and the equator.

Each half of the planet is responsible for its 13.5 mile share out of the total 27, which

again is below 17 miles.

So, anyone who has ever held a brand new cue ball in their hand and is not amazed by the

fact that the Earth is even smoother than that?

Well, he or she seriously needs to revise their sense of wonder about the world.

9.

The Earth's Crust

If you liked the previous example, you'll like this one too.

The planet's crust is the only place in the whole seemingly infinite universe that

we call home; at least for the time being.

And it's not even the whole crust, per se, just the surface.

The deepest humans have ever managed to go was to a depth of 7.5 miles with the Kola

Superdeep Borehole in Russia.

Temperatures reached well above 356 °F, so it was only the drilling equipment and measuring

apparatus that made it down there, while the scientists stayed safely on the surface.

The actual thickness of the crust, like its temperature, varies from one place to the

other.

While the average thickness is of about 9.3 miles, it can reach a maximum of 55 miles

under the Himalayas and just about 3.7 miles under the oceans.

Now, by knowing the planet's diameter to be 7,900 miles, if we were to scale it down

again, but this time to the size of a basketball, the Earth's crust would be the thickness

of a postage stamp; a postage stamp floating on a ball of molten rock and metal.

Yes, this is true.

So, the next time you hear someone comparing the planet's crust to that of a chicken

egg shell, know that information to be false.

The planet's crust is far thinner than that.

If Earth was the size of an actual egg, the crust would probably be even thinner than

the thickness of human skin that peels off after a sunburn.

Yuck!

And since the crust is also broken up into pieces that we call tectonic plates, it's

now easier to understand how and why continents move around so much.

So, now that you know these two pieces of information about the crust and the actual

size of the Earth, how do you think we fare in size here on Earth by comparison to bacteria

on an actual billiard ball?

8.

Earth's "Heartbeat"

With the previous two entries on this list, would it really come as a surprise to anyone

that Earth might just have an actual heartbeat?

Well, yeah, it would, and this isn't actually true, but the planet does have something closely

resembling one.

Every moment of every day, Earth is going through roughly 2,000 thunderstorms everywhere

on its surface.

And these thunderstorms produce roughly 50 lightning strikes every second.

And in turn, each of these lightning strikes produces a series of electromagnetic waves

that are captured and then bounce between the planet's surface and the lower ionosphere,

some 60 miles up.

If the wavelength is just right, then some of these waves combine and increase in strength,

creating a repeating atmospheric " heartbeat", a phenomenon known in science

as the Schumann resonance.

This phenomenon has been known for a while now, but in 2011 researchers came to realize

that this resonance isn't just confined to the planet's atmosphere, since some of

the waves actually extend more than 500 miles into space.

On a somewhat similar note, a Dutch artist by the name of Lotte Geeven, in collaboration

with geoscientists from the German Research Centre for Geosciences, have recorded the

sounds made by the planet, deep inside its crust.

The recording was done in Germany, in a hole similar to the one in Russia mentioned before.

The German Continental Deep Drilling Program, or more commonly known as the KTB borehole,

goes to a depth of six miles inside the Earth's crust and here, scientists were able to capture

the sounds made by the planet.

Some have described these sounds as a "melancholic howl" or "a bell-like alarm denoting histories

in the making."

7.

The Amazing Story about Oxygen

It's no real mystery that Earth hasn't always looked like it does today.

In fact, our planet is in constant change even at the current moment, and for the better

part of its existence, the conditions on the surface have almost always been different

than they are now.

So, with this in mind, let's talk about oxygen and how it got here.

Oxygen only became predominant in the atmosphere roughly 2.3 billion years ago, during an incident

called the Great Oxygenation Event.

Before this time, oxygen levels were marginal at best, making up just around 0.02% of all

the gases in the air.

But during the GOE, it reached levels of above 21%.

This big rise is thanks to a tiny organism that is still alive today – the Cyanobacteria,

or more commonly known as the blue-green algae.

These organisms are not algae, as their common name might suggest, but unicellular bacteria

that can manufacture their own food.

They live in water, form huge colonies, and use photosynthesis to turn the sun's rays

directly into energy.

A byproduct of photosynthesis, as some of us know, is oxygen.

Over billions of years, these tiny creatures inhabited the world's oceans, releasing

more and more oxygen as they multiplied and spread.

It's safe to say that we owe thanks to these Cyanobacteria for our very existence and the

world we live in today.

It is, however, important to note that this new change in the planet's chemistry did

not go as smoothly as some might think.

For starters, oxygen was toxic for all other living creatures on the planet at that time

and nearly drove all previous anaerobic life into extinction.

Secondly, the growing amount of oxygen in the air reacted with the already existing

methane, which was in abundance at the time, creating CO2.

And since methane is 25 to 30 times more potent as a greenhouse gas than CO2, Earth went through

a severe cold spell that lasted for 300 million years and almost drove even the "mighty"

Cyanobacteria into extinction.

Lastly, the higher levels of oxygen triggered an explosion, so to speak, in the number of

minerals on the surface of the planet – minerals that otherwise would not have existed if it

weren't for the blue-green algae.

More than 2,500 of the total 4,500 minerals now common on Earth appeared during the Great

Oxygenation Event.

So, the next time you think of humans as being the only species capable of changing the planet

beyond recognition and having the capacity to drive life, including itself, into extinction…

think again.

6.

The Origins of Life

For all the credit we can give our men and women of science when it comes to all the

discoveries they've made over the years, we still have to take into account the fact

that we know surprisingly little when it comes to life and how it came into being in the

first place.

Up until fairly recently, we believed we knew with a relatively high degree of certainty

when life first appeared on Earth, and we had our presumptions on how it happened.

But it seems that this theory has now changed.

According to a recent study, we can now move the appearance of life back by another 300

million years, bringing it quite close to the moment when the planet actually formed

some 4.5 billion years ago.

If the research is confirmed, then it would seem that life formed 4.1 billion years ago,

from a primordial disk of dust and gas surrounding the Sun just before the Earth started forming.

The researchers came to this conclusion after observing tiny specks of graphite trapped

inside zircon crystals.

This graphite is usually associated with signs of life.

Another theory that can account for its existence in the crystals is a massive meteor impact.

But given the amount needed to explain these findings, it makes the meteor theory highly

unlikely, though not entirely dismissible.

If proven true, however, and life is as old as this new evidence suggests, then it would

seem it's even older than the Moon itself.

"With the right ingredients, life seems to form very quickly," said Mark Harrison,

a professor of geochemistry at UCLA and member in this study.

5.

Two Planets Become One

Ever thought about how the Moon was formed?

Probably because it's visible up in the sky almost every other night, people have

grown accustomed to seeing it and don't give it a second thought.

But the Moon's history, and especially its birth, are amazing and terrifying, to say

the least.

Back in the early days of the solar system, and soon after our planet began to take shape,

fate would place young Earth on a direct collision course with another planet we now call Theia.

Now, even though it's hard to know for certain if this actually happened, there are strong

indications that it did.

According to the calculations, this sister planet of ours was roughly the size of Mars

(or slightly smaller), and because of the still unpredictable and chaotic nature of

the solar system at the time, it was flung in the direction of Earth.

In the aftermath of the collision, two things happened.

The two planets merged to form this one we are all standing on right now.

And secondly, much of the debris that was flung into space came together and formed

the Moon.

Now, as we said before, this collision theory is not certain.

But the relatively large size of the Moon as compared to the Earth points to this hypostasis.

So do the rocks brought back during the Apollo missions, which are virtually indistinguishable

from those here on Earth when it comes to their oxygen isotopes.

This theory can also explain our planet's unusually large core as compared to all the

other rocky worlds in the solar system.

4.

Shifting Poles

No, this has nothing to do with any voting or elections – it's about the Earth's

magnetic field.

Thanks in part to our planet's larger-than-usual molten core and its relatively fast spin on

its axis, both of which may be the result of the previously mentioned collision between

Earth and Theia, our planet has a very strong magnetic field relative to its size.

In fact, only Mercury, of all the other rocky planets, has a magnetic field, but it's

far weaker than our own.

Venus doesn't have one, even though we're fairly certain it has a molten metal core.

Scientists believe the reason behind this is because Venus has a slow rotation around

its axis and the temperatures inside are more evenly distributed.

Mars, on the other hand, did have a magnetic field once, but its metallic core has since

cooled and solidified.

In any case, our strong magnetic field protects us from the sun's deadly solar radiation,

it keeps our atmosphere from being blown away into space, and it gives us the beautiful

aurora borealis around the poles.

But over the past century and a half, scientists have come to realize that this magnetic field

is weakening.

As it turns out, the magnetic poles of our planet are shifting.

This means that someday in the future, north will be south and vice-versa, and the process

has already begun.

While in the early 20th century the poles were moving at a rate of about 10 miles per

year, today that speed has increased to 40.

There's no real need to panic, though, since this phenomenon has happened hundreds of times

before.

In fact, over the past 20 million years, the poles have shifted every 200 to 300 thousand

years or so.

The last time it happened, however, was more than 780,000 years ago, so, we're due for

another one.

And according to the fossil record from previous pole reversals, it seems that there were no

major changes in plant or animal life.

What we would expect to see in this several-century-process would be an increased vulnerability to solar

flares that could knock out entire power grids.

Holes could be made in the ozone layer, exposing us and the environment to higher degrees of

radiation.

There would be more than two magnetic poles at a time, scattered all across the face of

the planet, leading compasses to spin uncontrollably.

Some animals could become disoriented, and we would see the northern lights in unusual

places.

The actual timeframe here is nowhere near to being exact.

Scientists are still having a hard time understanding all the inner workings of our planet, but

estimates say that this shouldn't take more than 1,000 years or so.

Probably even less.

And before you say anything, it is important to note that from our planet's perspective,

a millennium is a literal geological instant.

3.

Mother Nature is an Expert at Recycling

Over the many millions of years, Earth has become an expert at recycling.

If given enough time, our planet has and will continue to reshape itself in a continuous

cycle of renewal and rebirth.

Every natural system on Earth is involved in this process in one degree or another,

and the whole thing could take hours to explain properly.

But because we know your time is valuable, we'll keep it short.

Let's start with life.

As time marches on, organisms grow, develop, and multiply, and then they eventually die.

Their remains fall to the ground and become the very soil they once drew their nourishment

from.

Layer upon layer of this soil is produced, one on top of the other, slowly but surely

turning into stone.

This bottom layer of stone moves along with the tectonic plates they're sitting on,

eventually sliding underneath one another, or becoming a mountain if it ends up on top.

If this rock layer turns into a mountain, as two plate tectonics bump into each other,

over time, rain, wind, the many rivers, as well as other natural phenomena, grind away

at that rock, eroding it and washing it out to sea where it sinks at the bottom and turns

into sedimentary rock on the ocean floor.

Once here, it again transforms into metamorphic rock due to very high heat and pressure, and

eventually ends up in the upper mantle of the Earth in a process known as subduction.

Here, this rock is turned into magma which eventually finds its way back to the surface

via an oceanic ridge system, or through the many volcanoes that dot the Earth – and

the cycle repeats itself.

Now, this whole process has been overly simplified here, but this cycle the crustal rock goes

through, not only recycles carbon across the globe, but it also provides the nutrients

necessary for life to thrive in abundance.

If it weren't for this process, life's chances on the planet would be severely compromised.

2.

The Earth is Growing

There is a theory circulating out there that states the planet has been in a continuous

process of expansion and contraction throughout its entire lifetime.

Known as the Expanding Earth theory, it says that at some point in the past, Earth was

80% smaller than it is today, at which point the continents formed its entire surface.

Then it began expanding, forming the ocean floor.

While the theory does seem to have some intriguing concepts, it does have a lot of scientific

inconsistencies and is extremely unlikely.

What we are really talking about here, when we say the Earth is growing, is the fact that

our planet takes in roughly 60 to 100 tons of cosmic dust every single day.

This can't really come as a surprise to anyone since this is the exact same process

through which all other heavenly bodies in the universe have been created since the dawn

of time, including Earth itself.

But we don't really think about it still happening, right?

Well, even though it has toned down a bit since the early days of the solar system,

the process is still pretty much alive.

Even if space seems to be empty, it's really littered with fine particles of dust, and

these particles get swept up by our planet and, in a sense, become part of Earth.

Only a small fraction of this material actually leaves a visible trail in the sky, since most

of it is too tiny for that to happen.

Now, even though scientists have been aware of this phenomenon happening for a while,

only with the advent of more sophisticated technology did they come to comprehend its

actual scale.

Researchers are now looking at what effects these particles have on our environment.

For starters, it was observed that these particles are incremental in the formation of the highest

clouds in our atmosphere.

It also acts as fertilizer for phytoplankton, and can even affect the ozone layer's chemistry.

But these effects can be just the tip of the iceberg, and scientists are trying to figure

out cosmic dust's many other implications.

1.

But it's Actually Getting Lighter

How can this be?

We've just concluded that Earth takes in around 30,000 tons of space dust every year,

so… how is this possible?

It's not like we're throwing stuff into outer space – not that much, at least – and

it's not like we're using any of the weight to build stuff, since that mass still adds

to the overall load of the planet.

Well, as it turns out, Earth is losing mass via two major ways.

One is through its core, as it consumes energy in the form of heat.

But this loss accounts for just 16 tons a year.

The real mass loss comes in the form of hydrogen and helium.

These two gases are the lightest in the universe and oftentimes they just simply float away

from Earth.

They do so at a rate of 95,000 tons of hydrogen and 1,600 tons of helium each year.

So, even though we get roughly 30,000 tons of dust, we lose almost 97,000 tons of gas.

Now, when it comes to hydrogen, there's nothing to really be afraid of.

Even at this current rate, it would take it trillions of years before all of it could

be depleted from the atmosphere and by that time, the sun will have died out, and there

will be no Earth to speak of.

(Um, yay?)

But helium is another matter.

Even though it's the second most abundant element in the universe, it's disappearing

here on Earth.

We're now using it for a great deal of things, on an unprecedented scale, and there's only

so much to go around.

What Makes One Online Scheduler Better Than Another? - Presented on Light Board - Duration: 2:18.

If you've seen a few examples of online scheduling software, then you may be experiencing the

common misconception that 'Online schedulers are all the same.'

Just like any software, schedulers can look very similar on the surface.

The fact is, under the surface, online schedulers can be vastly different.

That's why it's important that when shopping for online scheduling, you pick the one that

is right for you.

What really sets one scheduler apart from another is the amount of control it gives

you into the scheduling process.

Choosing the wrong scheduler could mean you have less control over your schedule than

you do today, and nobody wants that.

We've put together a list of important questions to ask when comparing scheduling software.

Getting the answers to these questions can help you maintain control over your schedule,

and be more productive than ever when it comes to time management.

Live support;

Does the solution your looking at offer live customer and technical support?

Customization;

Are you able to configure your account to meet the specific needs of your business?

Training;

Do they offer free personal training for your unique setup?

Trumpcare Is Back And It Is Worse Than Ever - Duration: 4:06.

Late Friday afternoon it was announced that Republicans in the Senate had actually been

working on a new version of their healthcare reform bill.

This one knows as the Graham-Cassidy Bill.

It was brought to most people's attention by Democratic Senate leader Chuck Schumer

Tweeting out that we have got to stop this thing and Republicans are very close to having

enough votes to be able to actually pass it.

As of Monday morning it looks like, according to Republicans they're only about one vote

shy of having enough of a majority to get this thing passed.

So, here's what this horrible piece of legislation would actually do to people in the United

States.

First and foremast, analysis are showing us that as many thirty-two million people could

lose their health insurance under this particular Republican version of the healthcare bill,

effectively making it the most cruel version of healthcare reform that Republicans have

proposed to date.

Cause keep in mind their first version was going to kick twenty-four million people off,

the second version was going to kick twenty-two million off, but apparently they've said,

"Screw it, let's go big or go home."

Thirty-two million people right off the bat could lose their healthcare insurance.

The reason for that is because they want to repeal all of the subsidies from the federal

government to low income Americans that helped to pay for their health insurance.

They're going to reduce the Medicaid expansion, effectively taking that away from millions

of people and even more grants and subsidies are going to some off the top that are going

to make people not be able to afford health insurance.

But, one of the worst aspects of this particular bill is the fact that it will allow insurance

companies to raise your rates if you get sick.

And I'm not talking about when you go to renew your health insurance policy.

This particular piece of legislation would give health insurance companies clearance

to, if you went to the doctor and got a diagnosis of cancer, your rates would immediately go

through the roof and there is nothing you could do about it.

Which is ironic considering the fact that the whole reason Republicans say they want

to get rid of Obamacare is because premiums are increasing ans their legislation literally

allows health insurance companies to raise your rates whenever the hell they feel like

it, which doesn't solve any of the problems that we're having with healthcare in this

country.

Think about it this way.

Right now we have Democrats and an independent in the U.S. Senate that are working to pass

a Medicare for all piece of legislation that would give healthcare insurance, healthcare

coverage or at least healthcare coverage access to everybody in this country.

Republicans have proposed a piece of legislation that's going to kick thirty-two million people

off their health insurance plans and allow insurance companies to raise your rates whenever

they feel like it.

If you get a cold, your insurance rates could increase if you go to the doctor.

Now which one of those parties sounds like one that has the best interest of the American

public at heart?

Because it sure as hell isn't the Republicans.

If there are any people out there who voted Republican because they want Obamacare repealed,

I suggest you start paying attention because clearly you haven't been.

Republican legislation, specifically this Republican legislation will result in the

deaths of American citizens because Republicans are so damn greedy that all they care about

are making sure we repeal those subsidies, give tax cuts to the wealthy and let their

donors from the healthcare industry continue to reap massive profits while screwing over

American consumers.

That is the only thing that this legislation will do for the United States.

We're now using it for a great deal of things, on an unprecedented scale, and there's only

so much to go around.

here after you're done watching this video.

So, you may or may not know that Beats will be releasing their new Beats Studio 3 wireless

head phones in mid October.

Cosmetically, they look identical to the Studio 2 but they are supposed to have brand new

internals which will supposedly improve the over all sound, active noise cancelation,

Apple's new W2 chip, a longer battery life and fast fuel.

But Sony will also be dropping their WH-1000XM2 wireless headphones.

The Sony WH-1000XM2 are the updated version of their already amazing premium consumer

active noise cancelation headphones.

They're going to retail for $350 and have improved active noise cancelation and longer

battery life of 30 hours over the previous version's 20 hours.

Sadly, they did not improve on the overall design.

Sony will also be dropping a ton of other products in the back half of September.

To start they've got their WI-1000X neck band which will are noise canceling in ear

ear buds with a battery life of 10 hours.

And if you want truly wireless ear buds they will also be dropping their WF-1000X which

are wire free in ear ear buds that also have active noise canceling with a total battery

life of 9 hours.

But between charges the ear buds are only good for 3 hours.

These ear buds will be going for $299.99 and $199.99 respectively.

And Sony isn't done there, they're also going to be releasing their GTK-XB60 and GTK-XB90

which are Sony's larger portable bluetooth speakers with their signature light features

from the XB series.

and those will be selling for $350 and $450.

And JBL Will also be shipping their hotly anticipated JBL Boombox at the beginning of

October for $450 as well.

Look out for a JBL Boombox vs Sony GTK-XB90 video in mid October.

And JBL Also has a few products they are set to drop in the coming weeks.

First theres the JBL Reflect Fit, a neck band with a built in heart rate monitor and in

ear ear buds.

Im assuming the heart rate monitor is built into the back portion of the neck band because

the ear buds look fairly standard.

And JBL is also going to jump into the wireless ear buds game with their JBL Free in ear ear

phones.

They look more rugged and are set to have a longer battery life than the Sony WF-1000X

but no active noise cancelation.

Both of these products should be released this coming October in the states.

And then theres the JBL Link series without a set release date.

The JBL Link series are JBL's first voice activated speakers with integrated Google

assistant.

And they will come in 3 different sizes.

Not bad to have options if you're interested in picking up a smart speaker.

And everyone is jumping on the Smart speaker craze.

We've know about the Apple Homepod since June, and Sony will also be releasing their

own smart speaker that looks very similar to the Homepod.

Except theres more functionality like LED lights on the front and gesture controls on

the top.

But honestly, I feel the gesture controls are a bit of a gimmick.

But Sony's smart speaker, dubbed the LF-S50G should be released in Mid October.

And then theres the Panasonic SC-GA10, also a smart speaker with audio quality first just

like Sony's and Apple's smart speaker.

Panasonic's smart speaker is slated to be released around the time the Apple Homepod

is but there is still no set price.

And honestly, I like the design of the Panasonic smart speaker better than Apple's and Sony's.

But we'll have to see how that smart speaker does once its released.

And then theres Samsung who also has few products in the pipe line.

First up is their updated Gear Fit 2 Pro.

The biggest noticeable updated of the Gear Fit 2 pro is that its now water proof and

you can swim with it and you can also stream music with it offline and it has built in

GPS.

The gear fit 2 pro is supposed to be released on September 15th.

Samsung is also set to release their updated Gear IconX wireless ear buds with bixby integration.

Since the original Gear IconX wasn't so good hopefully their second try is better.

And then you've got Samsung's Gear Sport which is yet another smart watch from Samsung.

And theres also Fitbit with its highly anticipated Ionic smart watch and Flyer headphones.

Although the Fitbit Flyer headphones don't look like anything revolutionary, the Ionic

smart watch does look interesting.

For starters the Fitbit Ionic is supposed to work nicely with both Apple and Android

Devices, which isn't the case for Samsung's warbles.

And since the Ionic is in the Fitbit Ecosystem it could possibly be the best smart watch

for fitness focused people.

But since Apple announced their Apple Watch Series 3 and watch OS 4 over all improving

the Apple Watch, is Fitbit too late?

And there a few things you can expect from google this October.

First theres the Pixel 2 which is a given.

Its supposed to have 64 gigs of storage as entry level just like the new iphones, and

you can say good bye to the head phone jack, but hopefully they will reduce those bezels.

And its rumored that google isn't just working on one pair of wireless ear buds, but two.

Rumors are swirling around saying that google will be releasing a pair of wireless ear buds

like Apple's and a pair of wireless headphones which will also have Google assistant integration.

And heres my own prediction, Since the Google Home is about to be 1 year old and since theres

so much competition growing in that space, I wouldn't be surprised if google announced

an updated Google home with better audio capabilities so it can go toe to toe with the Home Pod

and Amazon's Alexa Show which surprisingly sounds very good.

And if you're still looking into drones then you should know DJI just announced the DJI

Mavic pro platinum and the Phantom 4 Pro.

These aren't brand new models, just slightly updated.

The DJI Mavic Pro Platinum will be selling for $1100 and has a slightly longer battery

life of 30 minutes and redesigned props so it can fly a little quieter, but if you already

have a DJI Mavic Pro you can buy the new props separately and enjoy some quieter flight.

And then theres the Phantom 4 pro which will be selling for $1500, although it still comes

with the same camera and gimbal set up as the Phantom 4 advanced, the Pro variant has

a whole bunch more of obstacle avoidance sensors so hopefully this drone will never crash either

when autonomously flying or if you're piloting it.

Top 10 Embarrassing Video Game Achievement - Part 2 - Duration: 6:11.

TOP 10 EMBARRASSING VIDEO GAME ACHIEVEMENTS PART 2

Welcome back to top 10 gaming!

And look what's back, too!

The top 10 embarrassing video game achievements, here for a part two.

So in case you didn't catch our part one of this list, or you're just new to the

world of gaming, let me catch you up to speed.

Video games have achievements.

Those achievements vary wildly.

But sometimes, those achievements can be granted because of something embarrassing you, the

player, did.

Or failed to do.

And we here at top 10 gaming are devoted to making fun of that, amongst other things.

Like I guess being informative, or whatever.

So now that we know what's what, let's jump in!

10 Welcome to 2047 Command and Conquer 3 Alright, from the initial sounds of it, doesn't

seem like too bad of an achievement?

Except then you realize what that 2047 means - you've pressed the A button 2047 times.

Not cumulatively, but all in a row.

If you're one of those people who have nabbed this achievement, well hey, that's a thing

you did.

9 Afraid - F.E.A.R First Encounter Assault Recon

Finish a multiplayer game with a negative score. And how does one accomplish that?

By sucking so hard that you've killed yourself more times that killing others.

Now if you're hunting for this achievement, it's pretty easy to get - just kill yourself.

Be creative.

Stand still.

Run into your opponents.

You'll come up with something, I'm sure.

8 Press Start to Play - The Simpsons Game Literally that.

Press start to play.

So how is this embarrassing?

Well, similar to a number we mentioned on the last part of our list concerning Dark

Souls 2, this achievement isn't innately embarrassing, but if you never score any other

achievements, well, yep, little shameful there.

At least with Dark Souls 2 theres that whole 'its a hard game argument.'

This is The Simpsons Game, you guys.

7 Horse Puncher - Darkest of Days I actually think this is pretty funny.

Remember friends, violence towards animals is wrong.

Virtual violence towards anything is way more acceptable though.

Or at least according to social norms.

ANYWAY!

Horse Puncher is from Darkest of Days, and happens when, you guessed it, PUNCH A HORSE

IN THE FACE!

This just means that you felt the need to punch a horse instead of, yknow, playing the

game, and hit it SO HARD that you killed it.

6 Blitz: The League 2 - Testikill Ah, wordplay.

Ain't it great?

So Testikill is an achievement you get when you've ruptured 10 scrotums in any mode

of play in the game.

Cause, that's how you play football, right?

Getting this achievement means you've had to watch this visual 10 TIMES, so, well, make

what you will of that.

There's only so many splooge sound effects one can endure.

5 Seriously 2.0 - Gears of War 2 Venturing into the land of 'dude, maybe

you've been playing this too long', we have the Seriously 2.0 achievement.

Now, consider this - completing the campaign to this game will approximately pull in around

3000 kills.

Decent amount, right?

Well, in order to get this achievement, you need to have raked up 100,000 kills.

So all things considered, that is a ridiculous amount of time devoted to this game.

Of course, worth noting that some players on youtube found faster ways of achieving

this, but if you go about getting this the old fashion way, well…. but maybe go outside

for some fresh air every now and then?

4 Portal 2 - You Made Your Point In Portal 2 on the first puzzle of Chapter

8, if you stand still and refuse to do the puzzle, you can score this achievement - called

You Made Your Point.

Personally, I don't think this is one that should be considered embarrassing.

If anything, well done.

There's something to be said about committing to a joke, friends.

That being said, if you got this one accidentally, well, that's a tad embarrassing.

But at least you can lie and tell all your friends it's because you did a funny thing

and you're a low key comical genius.

Hey, they might even believe you.

3 Sexting Seems like Metal Gear Solid 2 is full of these

achievement gems, isn't it?

If you recall from our previous list, we told you about the Snake Beater achievement, and

while this achievement - titled Sexting - may not be as embarrassing or hilarious as Snake

Beater - or aptly named, let's be honest - this one is still pretty great in it's

own way.

So you can score yourself the Sexting achievement by sending Otacon a picture of the marine

with no pants on.

Note that after you snap the photo, Snake needs to say the word "good" in order

for this to work.

Also note, there's some pretty funny dialogue from Otacon if you take as many photos of

inappropriate photos you find.

2 Turd Burglar Speaking of games that we talked about on

our previous list, we've got another one from Duke Nukem Forever.

Turd burglar.

So how does one accomplish this?

Well, you need to find AND steal a piece of poop.

But where does one acquire poop?

You can find what you're looking for in the toilets on the first level.

And once you're carrying around your turd, you can even throw it too.

Ah yes, gaming at it's finest.

1 The First Prayed Answered And lastly, on our list of shame is an achievement

that not only taints your trophy room but also adds reasonable doubt to your character.

Unless of course you're doing it for shits and giggles.

In which case, yeah, sure, I'm sure we can all see the humour in that.

So, this achievement, titles The First Prayer Answered is from Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus.

For context, the game itself is one where you're playing a school girl trying to strip

off other school girls clothes.

And some other narrative stuff but quite frankly, that's the bare bones of it.

Anyway, if you buy into the panty lottery in the game, you can win panties, and this

achievement is handed out the very first time you do so.

There we go!

Have you guys gotten any of these achievements?

Let us know in those comments below.

And hey, if you dug this video, hit that subscribe button and check out our other lists!

In the meantime, thanks for watching!

I've been Kelly Paoli for top 10 gaming and I'll catch you all in the next one.

5 Things Emotional Manipulator Do To Confuse And Drain You - Duration: 5:44.

5 Things Emotional Manipulator Do To Confuse And Drain You

Someone who constantly leaves you feeling confused, and mentally exhausted but you just

can't pinpoint why, is likely to be an emotional manipulator.

Identifying them for who they are can be tricky, but this list will help.

Have you ever found yourself in a situation with a friend or partner where you doubted

yourself because of what the other one firmly believed?

Where you honestly knew that you weren't the one at fault, yet they insisted that it

was your actions that led to the disaster which ensued?

If you recognize these behaviour patterns, you might be in the presence of an emotional

manipulator.

They are everywhere, like a plague that infects the vulnerable with self-doubt and deprives

them of the right to express their feelings.

The best thing to do in this case is cut ties with that person, but if you're finding

it hard to make that decision, lets check out the list on this video.

Here are some tactics that these emotional manipulators use on people which might help

you to decide whether they are worth keeping or not.

1.

They will persistently dismiss your emotions

If you ever tell this person how they made you feel about something they said or did

that hurt you, instead of apologizing they might calmly tell you that you're making

it more of an issue than it actually is and completely disregard your feelings.

Their apathetic attitude will eventually make you start doubting yourself, so you introspectively

gather your thoughts and start believing it is your fault and subsequently lose the motivation

to pursue the matter any further.

If their response was a bit less calm and a bit more aggressive, then it is likely for

them to lash out in rage and try to turn it around on you, making you feel as though you

are to blame for their loss of temper.

2.

They play "tit-for-tat" pretty well

If ever you become determined to confront them with what you think they are lacking

in terms of affection or intimacy or emotional support, they will respond by listing all

the things that they don't appreciate or find is lacking in you.

They might try and throw it right back at you and say things that deprive you of the

right to express your feelings like "Don't make me start raising my voice at you,"

or, " It's because of you that we now have to deal with …". Which leaves you

doubting yourself again and wondering again if you're the one overreacting.

You may start losing the ambition to communicate healthily and end up crawling further back

into your shell.

3.

They are completely different people when nobody else is around.

Everything may seem to be going just great; you're on your night out at a bar with friends,

until a couple of drinks go down and your partner starts running their mouth about the

most embarrassing stories of you to the whole world.

Your face turns bright red and you become overwhelmed with humiliation; no point in

telling them how that made you feel right at that moment so you suck it up, maintain

the appearance of being happy and just keep going with it.

When it comes to the end of the night, you've returned home with them and you mention to

your partner how you feel about what they said earlier.

Since you are now in private, if they don't just brush over it like its nothing, they

might give you some false apologies just to pacify you.

Only then will you ever see an emotional manipulator take a tiny bit of responsibility for their

actions.

4.

They try and convince you that everyone else is on their side

We all make mistakes, but if you make a mistake and you're with a partner who happens to

be an emotional manipulator, one thing to look out for is if they try and point out

to you the error of your ways and say to you that everyone else is in agreement that you

are wrong.

These apparent phantom alliances that allegedly conspire against you leave you feeling left

out and insecure, regardless of whether it is true or not, and take away whatever dignity

of yours that remains.

If you do enquire as to who exactly agrees, you probably won't recieve an answer, or

they will just openly lie to your face.

5.

To them you are not intelligent enough to understand their reasoning

An emotional manipulator is not prone to explaining their own actions to you when asked, their

reason will be that it is far too complex for your level of understanding and they don't

need to explain it any further.

They will use this refusal technique on you because they don't feel the need for genuine

communication.

Their goal is to put themselves above you by pointing out to you your lack of intelligence

by using this technique.

If your partner is persistent in withholding their needs and wants from you, you will never

know if you're doing something right.

This puts you in a place where you are vulnerable to attacks from every angle, where they could

just lash out at you if you do just the smallest thing they perceive to be wrong.

There often is no way around this one, they refuse to explain to you why so there is no

point in asking any more.

Start making plans to get yourself out of there and free yourself from their clutches.

Well, that's the 5 things emotional manipulator do to confuse and drain you.

So, really cool information isn't it?

I'd like to see your opinions on this and please do share your thoughts and experiences

in the comments below!

How To Clean Your Bike On Holiday Or Travelling | Maintenance Monday - Duration: 4:28.

- You've come away on the riding trip of a lifetime,

you've been on perfect roads in perfect weather,

and then one day this happens.

Which is a problem.

But you ride anyway, because you're hard as nails, obviously

And then, then you have an issue

because your bike is now absolutely filthy.

So what are you going to do when the sun comes out tomorrow,

because it will, and you end up

with a bike which feels horrible.

Well you need to clean it obviously, but how do we do it

if you haven't anything to clean it with?

Think we need a mission.

Firstly to the supermarket.

Oh god, it's raining!

Run!

I'm melting.

Ahhh!

If you remember high performance.

Washing-up liquid.

Wet wipes. Possible cleaning hack.

When it comes to sponges size matters.

But these might do.

Sponges, wet wipes and washing-up liquid still not enough

to clean a bike properly so we need to go somewhere else.

Unfortunately we couldn't get everything at the supermarket,

so we have come to a hardware shop,

which kind of feels like cheating, but we need a clean bike.

Bucket.

Right, we're gonna go clean some, well, bikes.

I'm only going to clean one

and everybody else can clean their own.

Well the first step was hopefully goingg to be my cheating

short cut which was the wet wipe,

my Italian is not terribly good

slash non-existent and so I imagine now

that I have probably bought the extra sensitive,

incredibly mild added moisturising,

basically not very effective.

And life is too short to do this so

I think I'm just going to rock out the big guns.

So to speak.

Oh don't worry by the way these will not go to waste.

Lloydy will find a use they can take his make up off

at the end of a GCN shoot.

Well we've got four averagely clean chain links now

but I think we need to step it up a gear so

washing-up liquid, bucket, very very hot water.

Never fails.

Right, usual five minute bike wash technique applies now.

Basically get the frame, get the wheels,

nice soapy, just start scrubbing.

I can't recommend using the scourer on your frame.

Just get grease marks off nicely.

I know you've been missing this.

It's not bad is it?

Hey

I could potentially leave it out in this rain

and it would wash off all the soap suds,

but that feels a little bit slack.

So going to put some clean cold water in there

give the bike a rinse, then we're good to go.

Right I've got hot water in.

It is that cold.

Well there you go then, clean as a whistle,

sharp as a thistle and tip top condition ready to

for when the sun comes out tomorrow,

because it will come out.

And all the bits and bobs to do this we found in a

local supermarket in a mountain town,

in Alta-Badia in Italy that's not too bad.

Do make sure you get stuck in the comment section

down here, if you have any tips, cleaning hacks

or you did just want to get stuck in

because there is one obviously incredibly controversial

ingredient in that bucket right there.

Now, do make sure you subscribe to GCN

before leaving this video.

To do so just click on the globe,

and if you're after some more content,

well we've go another one

a bit more of a thorough in depth clean.

How to give a bike a deep clean just down there.

Or for some more content from here in Alta-Badia,

from when it was sunny just yesterday,

click just down there.

The Merchant of Death - Basil Zaharoff I WHO DID WHAT IN WW1? - Duration: 10:13.

You ask for his birth certificate.

Alas!

A fire destroyed the church registers.

You search for a document concerning him in the archives of the Vienna War Office... the

document has vanished….

He was "The mystery - man of Europe", the great publisher and benefactor, the knight,

the casino owner and - above all - "The Merchant of Death" and "The Wickedest

Man in the World".

Ladies and Gentlemen, Sir Basil Zaharoff!

I'm Indy Neidell; welcome to a Great War "Who did what in WW1" special about Sir

Basil Zaharoff.

He was born Vasilis Zahariou.

This was October 6, 1849, in Western Anatolia to a Greek family.

His father, a draper, changed the name to the Slavic Zaharoff, and in the mid 1850s

the family moved to Constantinople.

Young Vasilis had to quit school and begin working when his father went bankrupt, so

he worked as a tout for a brothel, as a loan shark, and also as an arsonist for the city

fire department.

You did hear that right.

He set fire to luxury buildings so that firemen could save them and the residents' belongings,

and thus earn a nice commission for doing so, of which Vasilis got a cut.

By his late teens, he was working in his uncle's trading office, and apparently when his uncle

retracted on some sort of payment, Vasilis simply took the money from the repository

and moved to England.

There, "Basil" married Emily Burrows in 1872.

That same year he was arrested in Belgium for embezzlement.

He escaped the restitution payment he had to make by fleeing to Athens.

Once there, he impressed high society with his charm, his debonair appearance, his language

skills, and his manners, but became an outcast once the embezzlement scandal reached the

city.

However, he had made his first contacts in the armaments industry and soon became the

Balkan representative for Swedish inventor Thorsten Nordenfelt.

Make no mistake; this was a golden age for an arms dealer.

Nationalistic fever swept much of Europe.

Mass production of weapons was possible for the first time.

The major powers of Europe needed weapons for colonial expansion.

There was a huge demand.

Zaharoff worked in Cyprus for a few years before winding up in Galway, Ireland in 1883,

posing as a count and working as a shipping agent.

He wasn't there for long, and fled to Utah after receiving death threats for persuading

local girls to immigrate to Massachusetts as factory workers.

In Utah, he mingled with high society as the nephew of a Russian count exiled by the Tsar,

and in 1885 married the wealthy New York heiress, Jeannie Billings.

He hadn't divorced his first wife, though, and was eventually recognized and fled for

Europe.

His first big success in the arms trade followed.

It involved the sale of defective Nordenfelt submarines.

None of the Great Powers wanted them, so he went to Greece, and - as a loyal patriot - felt

obliged to give them a submarine on excellent payment terms.

Then he went to the Ottomans, and - as a loyal patriot - convinced them that Greece having

a sub was a threat, so he sold the Ottomans two.

Then he went to Russia, and - as a loyal patriot - pointed out what a threat the Ottoman subs

were in the Black Sea.

Russia bought two of them.

None of the subs entered service.

This practice was dubbed "Systeme Zaharoff"; turning one country against another and selling

arms to both, with the help of bribes and "favors" for officials.

Soon, he spotted Spaniard Isaac Peral's work - the first practical submarine, and

the first with electric power for underwater action.

Peral rejected Nordenfelt's offer to buy the servomotor patent, so Zaharoff managed

to permanently prevent a deal between Peral and the Spanish government, primarily using

a sexual relationship with Pilar de Muguiro y Beruete.

Her father was the leader of the Conservative party and her husband was King Alfonso's

mentally ill cousin, and her access to the palace and the government helped Zaharoff

to build a powerful lobby of military officers, businessmen, nobles, and politicians by 1890.

Zaharoff bought the Basque armament company Euskalduna and became the top player in the

Spanish arms market until his death.

In fact, in 1934, the Nye Committee of the US Senate reported that Zaharoff received

a commission of 5 - 7% of every deal between the Spanish government and the US arms industry.

Zaharoff ruined several public displays of the new Maxim machinegun, and with pressure

from Vickers and the London Rothschilds, Hiram Maxim made a deal and the Maxim - Nordenfelt

Guns and Ammunition Company was created in 1888.

Nordenfelt had a personal bankruptcy in 1890 and left the company.

Zaharoff eventually became a shareholder and it was bought again, in 1897, to form Vickers,

Sons, and Maxim.

Zaharoff and Maxim got over a million pounds - in 1897 pounds - from the deal.

Zaharoff's weapons were used by both sides in the Boer Wars and the Russo - Japanese

War.

His most profitable deal came after that last war.

Russia upgraded its armed forces and Zaharoff managed to get contracts for Vickers for an

artillery plant, shipbuilding facilities, and a dockyard.

He gained the largest share in the Russian arms market.

British ambassador, Sir George Buchanan, who helped Vickers, wrote that Zaharoff's tactics

were "too disgusting for words".

By the time the Great War broke out, Zaharoff was living in France, as a French citizen,

making and selling arms to every major power.

He had bought the French paper, "Excelsior", and his articles about French rearming caused

the German Reichstag to vote for more armament funding of its own.

(deadpan) He was also very involved with philanthropy.

The war itself was - as you'd guess - pretty good for the arms industry, though salesmen

like Zaharoff weren't needed, but Zaharoff himself was.

In many ways.

In late 1915, for example, the situation in the Balkans was pretty dire for the Allies,

and they wanted to bring Greece into the war.

Zaharoff became a personal agent of British Prime Minister Herbert Asquith and wrote that

November, "I could make Greece join the Allies and start fighting the Bulgars within

20 days...

£1.5 million, properly spent, would shorten the war by months."

Asquith gave him most of that, and he went to work - soon the British and French governments

financially supported Greece's Salonika troops, the Greek liberal party acquired its

own publishing house, and it began publishing pro - Entente propaganda to bring Greece into

the war.

Within a year Greece was in a state of virtual civil war and eventually did join the Allies.

In 1916 and 1917, Zaharoff tried to negotiate a separate peace with the Ottoman Empire.

One big problem was the Empire insisting on its territorial integrity, and Zaharoff telling

them that in any scenario, Mesopotamia, Palestine, and Syria would be handed to the Entente.

The offer rose to ten million dollars, to be personally given to Enver Pasha and his

uncle Abdul Kerim, but after an incident at the Swiss border where Zaharoff was strip

searched and forced to stand for hours in sub zero temperatures and his subsequent period

of recovery, negotiations came to nothing.

if you think he was just helping the Allies, though, you are mistaken.

In 1916, he stopped the French plans to bomb the factories at Briey, which had belonged

to an associate of his.

The Germans were using those captured factories and the neighboring blast furnaces to produce

much of the iron and steel their army used.

German sources say that if those factories were taken or destroyed, the German war effort

could only last another six months.

Postwar, the factories were returned to Zaharoff's associate.

And postwar, Zaharoff finally got what he wanted - social acceptance, after all those

years of being an outcast for his professional activity.

"I am like a child who has been promised chocolate."

British King George V personally received him; he received the Grand Cross of the British

Empire, and began calling himself Sir Basil, though he was not a British citizen.

He supported Greek postwar claims in Anatolia, and donated as much as $20,000,000 during

the Greco - Turkish War.

When the Greek army was destroyed and the surviving Greek population fled Anatolia,

Zaharoff lost a great deal of money.

He still had enough left, though, to buy Monte Carlo Casino as well as oil stocks in the

Middle East.

In 1924, he finally married his Spanish love who had helped him sabotage Peral's submarine

plans all those years ago, but she soon died, and Zaharoff went into seclusion.

He died in Monte Carlo November 27th, 1936.

He had sold weapons basically to everyone, from the US, to Japan, to Europe, to South

America, and despite all of his charities, he remained– even after his passing - the

archetypal "merchant of death" and really, a sort of pop icon of evil.

In Tintin, he was caricatured as weapons trader Basil Bazarov, he is included in the dedication

page of the Church of Satan's Satanic Bible, and Orson Welles said that Citizen Kane is

partly based on Zaharoff, and not just William Randolph Hearst.

Well, Zaharoff grew up in a world where only the ruthless survive, and he was certainly

ruthless.

It seems though, that wherever Basil Zaharoff went, he never really left that childhood

world of ruthlessness.

The Impact of John T. Chambers Technology Center - Duration: 0:28.

Chambers Technology Center has been a place where I've always felt comfortable and safe.

I spend 90 to 95% my time here, so it's like my home away from home. All of the classrooms are here, the labs are here.

The professors' offices are here. I did my research in the room down the hall. It's a place that motivates you and

It helps you have a fun and competitive environment with your other students as well.

Chatty GRWM Daytime Makeup Tutorial | Cruelty Free Makeup - Duration: 28:20.

Hey guys.

Welcome back.

This is a Chit Chatty Get Ready With Me.

If you like these long, random videos, keep watching.

I've tied my hair back out of the way, so I can put on my makeup.

I'm going to start with Too Faced Shadow Insurance.

It has been a crazy few weeks for me.

I feel like I went from prepping for Dragon Con, to Dragon Con where I was gone for about

six days.

Then I came home and had to start prepping for Hurricane Irma, which was just a lot of

work, because I was trying to do stuff so I could stay here for the hurricane.

Then we decided to take off and go to New Orleans and I feel like all I've done the

past couple weeks is prepare for something and then leave, so it will be nice to have

a couple weeks at home where I don't have to go anywhere.

I know Dave was lamenting he felt like I'd been gone a whole lot this year with a bunch

of trips and it's true.

I have traveled a lot for my blog.

All right, now that my eyeshadow primer is on I need to set.

I'm going to use the Lunatick Cosmetic Labs Setting Powder, and basically I just do that

because then it keeps any wetness or stickiness from the primer from getting on the eyeshadow.

I take this big, fluffy brush, which is the Bdellium Tools 787.

Tap off the excess and just swirl it on top of my primer.

This also has the side benefit of making it easier to blend.

Now you could just use a base shade if you'd rather do that, then use a setting powder,

but I feel like I've had better results lately by using setting powder as opposed to a base

shade.

I'm not really sure what eyeshadow I'm going to wear.

I know that people were asking what eyeshadow did I evacuate with.

Well, I evacuated with all of the same makeup that I took with me to Dragon Con, so

that was my Kat Von D Pastel Goth Palette, my custom GlamTech Palette that has a poodle

on it, and I just put in different Makeup Geek eyeshadows, some Sugarpill, and I think

I have a couple of ColorPop in here too.

I also brought my Viseart Bright Editorial Palette, because this is great for Dragon

Con for fantasy makeup of any sort.

Between these three palettes I was absolutely covered.

I think before I put on my eyeshadow I'm going to do my brows first.

This is Wunderbrow and in jet black.

The way I've been putting this on recently is I wipe off the excess on the lip and then

I will brush it onto my brows.

Then I'm going to go back with another brush to basically spread it around and clean up

the edges.

This is just an angled eyeshadow brush.

I think it's from Urban Decay, but the Wunderbrow is super dark and super pigmented and it lasts

three days or so.

Definitely lasts through going to the gym, through showering.

As long as you're not deliberately trying to scrub it off.

It is an excellent brow product in my opinion.

You know, I keep trying to decide whether or not I'm actually going to get my brows

microblading touched up, because you know, I had them microbladed last year.

I had them done very natural, and when it comes down to it, anytime I'm doing any YouTube

video or pictures or anything like that, I fill in my brows.

I feel like my brows look good just for normal around the house stuff or going out.

If I'm not doing a full face of makeup I feel like they look like nice, full brows without

it, but ... I think they look like they're nice brows without it, but I feel like with

it I think it looks better to have them filled in.

I almost feel like I should just kind of skip doing microblading again, because I had it

done so light last time.

And I think I could do it heavier this time around, but I'm just not sure it's worth it.

I guess it's where I'm at.

I have seen recently how people have been getting basically like the equivalent on their

eyelashes or along their lash line to have thicker, darker-looking lashes, which I think

that's a great idea, especially if you have hooded eyes.

But then there's the whole eek factor of having somebody put a needle right along your lash

line.

That's a little much for me.

I know whenever I had my PRK vision surgery done, since you had to do it while you're

awake, it was really freaky and I had a panic attack through it, so I can't imagine that

it would be much easier for me to have that done to my lash line, even thought you're

numbed up.

It's still a needle right by your eye, and I feel like I would flinch.

I've stopped doing lash extensions for now.

I basically felt like my lash line was getting irritated and just couldn't handle it.

I've been doing it for well over a year, but it seems like I just need a break from it

for a while.

I suppose I should use a magnifying mirror to make sure that my brows are on straight.

I really need to get my brows waxed.

Or plucked.

Not waxed.

I don't do waxing anymore.

We are still in the process of housebreaking Nyx, which, if you've never had to do that,

housebreaking a puppy, it's a lot of work.

It's definitely a lot more work than most people will realize, or I feel like it is.

We're really lucky with Phaedra because she came practically housebroken, so she was really

easy.

Nyx has been very challenging.

What I've been doing with her is basically every time she successfully goes outside and

goes potty I'm giving her treats and praising her like crazy.

Which usually that helps to work, but sometimes she still has accidents in the house.

She doesn't seem to have any tells, like signals that she's got to go, so I will just ask her

if she has to go out and if she cocks her head and sits down I take her out and then

usually she goes.

It's been fun.

I'm going to use a fluffy brush and the gray shade from the Pastel Goth Palette, which

is Dagger.

This brush is the B04 brush from Real Techniques.

It's that powder blue brush that I really, really love.

I'm just patting it onto my lid to build up the color.

I really love gray eyeshadow.

I know a lot of people don't, but I think it's because I prefer a lot of cooler tones

when it comes to eyeshadows.

I feel like gray really makes my blue-green eyes pop, but I know a lot of people don't

like gray.

Gray is my favorite neutral aside from black, so it's just what I like to use.

When I'm building up the color like this I just basically am patting the brush onto the

skin.

It's very soft, and I just try to make sure that the color is visible when my eye is open

so that you can see it, because I have hooded eyes.

It's a very, very soft amount of color, and I'm kind of doing this whole windshield wiper

thing.

Somebody asked me recently what my favorite flower was and I told them that my favorite

flowers are orchids, and the reason behind that is that there are so many different kinds

of orchids and it was one of those things that reminded me of how there are so many

different types of women.

You know, fat, skinny, tall, short.

All different shapes and sizes just like with orchids, and they're all beautiful, so orchids

have always been my favorite flower and that was one of the things that reminded me of

it.

I do also like birds of paradise and anything that's purple or black.

A lot of you probably know this, but if you have hooded eyes it pays to kind of take a

step back in the mirror and look straight at your eyes to see whether or not you can

see the color whenever your eyes are open.

Sometimes what I do is set up two mirrors on my desk whenever I'm getting ready, so

I have a closer mirror right here, and one further back so that I can just look in both

mirrors, one right after the other, to see how visible my eyeshadow is or isn't, because

doing makeup on hooded eyes, in my opinion, is more challenging than on eyes that are

not hooded.

So any little extra tip or trick I try to share.

I'm going to use this Real Techniques precision smudge brush to smudge the gray along my lower

lid.

Yesterday we took Phaedra and Nyx to the dog park and it was Nyx's first time to go to

the dog park and it was so cute.

There were a ton of dogs there, because Saturday at 4:30 is like the time to go apparently,

and most of the dogs were much bigger than her.

She, at first, hid between my legs and then slowly she came out of her shell and started

sniffing the other dogs.

It was really cute.

There were a couple of dogs that were smaller than her, but most of them were all bigger

dogs.

I was really kind of amused, because somebody had this big Husky and the husky was rolling

around, wrestling with these other dogs, and just looked so happy.

And I was surprised because you know, it's really hot in Florida, so I was surprised

to see a Husky outside and enjoying himself in the heat.

At least our dog park has a lot of shade, so you can get out of the heat and still enjoy

playing with the other dogs.

I think I want something shimmery on my inner-lid.

I'm going to use the color right here, which is Kaleidoscope by Makeup Geek.

Whenever I don't know what to wear it's a good bet that that's a color I should reach

for, just because I really like it.

Where's my All Nighter spray?

I'm also going to spritz my bush beforehand with Urban Decay's All Nighter spray, and

the brush I'm using is the Urban Decay's angled lip brush.

And I'm just going to put this on the inner part of my lid, maybe as far over as three

quarters.

And I do like the inner little corner part too.

This is basically one of my go-to eyeshadow combos, just because it's pretty quick and

easy and I really like how it looks.

And because it's a duo-chrome color, like you see basically turquoise and pink and violet

on the silvery base, it just makes it look like there's a lot more going on with the

color.

I'm going to use Sigma's Wicket Liner and let me zoom in a little bit for this.

What I'm going to do is basically tight line kind of under here, by the roots of the lashes.

Sorry if it's kind of hard to see, but basically I'm trying to go on the underside of the lashes

and use the gel liner to make them look thicker and fuller.

And then I'm going just on the top side of the lashes too.

Not a whole lot, but a little bit, and I think you can see how it makes a difference between

these two eyes.

They have just a little bit of liner on.

All right, so now I'm going to put on my lashes.

I'm using Ardell Demi Wispies.

I use these because they're, I think, the most flattering for my hooded eye shape.

Lately I have been cutting them in half and then putting them on.

I wait for about 30 seconds and then I put the outer-half on first.

The inner-half is always harder for me.

I don't know why.

I use latex-free duo lash glue, because anything else will make my eyes all weepy and swell

shut.

Once I have these on, what I like to do then is go back either with a liquid liner or more

of the Sigma Wicked Gel Liner and kind of fill in any gaps that I can see.

And for whatever reason, once you put on false lashes I feel like it makes any eyeshadow

look like a million times better.

I'm going to put on Urban Decay's Troublemaker Mascara.

This just kind of helps my natural lashes blend with the false lashes.

My lashes are still growing out from having had my lash extensions removed, so they're

still kind of funky.

They don't want to hold any curl and they just make me sad.

On most days I don't worry about it, but if I'm going to be filming a video like today,

I just decided I was going to put on some lashes.

My eyes are almost done.

The last thing I really need to do is highlight, but I'm going to wait until I get all the

rest of my other makeup on first.

I'm going to break out my Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer.

I haven't used this in a while, but I'd like to use it.

It's one of those primers that I feel like you can really see that it brightens the skin.

I'm trying to put it down just the right side of my face so that you can ... Actually it's

going to go down both sides of my nose, but ... So there it's on this side, not on this

side.

I think you can kind of see that it gives just like a subtle radiance.

It's really nice.

It's going to work really well with my foundation today.

Now that my primer is on and it's had a minute to set, I'm going to put on some foundation.

And I've actually bought a lot of foundation recently.

I picked up the Fenty Beauty foundation in the shade 100.

Not going to wear this one today, because I think I need to add oil to it.

It's super, super dry.

It's a pretty good match for my skin tone.

I also picked up the Fenty Beauty concealer that comes in a stick form in the shade ivory,

and this is too dark for me.

This was like the most neutral warm one I could find in a stick and it's just it's too

dark.

I've got swatches up on my Instagram.

I also recently picked up the Cover FX N0 cream foundation, because I haven't had this

in a while and I wanted to get a new one.

The last thing that I have was a PR sample and this is the Essence Air Cushion, and the

shade light, and that's actually what I'm going to put on today, because I wore this

the other day and was really impressed with how it looked in the video.

When you look at it in the container, it looks like it's really, really dark, but that doesn't

actually seem to translate to the skin when I put it on.

I don't like the little thing that comes with it for application, but I'm not sure what

would be better to use.

If you have tips in your ... You know, somebody who uses cushion foundation a lot, please

let me know.

I think this is the first cruelty-free cushion foundation that I've every tried, and I want

to get pictures of it out in the sun to see how well it matches, because it looked really

good on video the other night, but that was at night under all my studio lights.

I want to check and see what it looks like today under daylight.

Remember for me, I want to match my neck and my chest so that I look more uniform.

I hate it when my head is darker than the rest of me.

Here it is on one side of my face.

Naked face.

And there's my Phaedra.

Ray is watching baby Nyx while I play with makeup and make YouTube videos.

This is only the second time in I don't know how many weeks.

Like two weeks.

I have to guess it's been two weeks that I've really been able to play with makeup and it's

nice.

With all the craziness going on, makeup had to take a backseat.

And since it's, you know, my hobby, it's something that I love, it sucks when I don't have time

for it.

All right.

Let me let that sit for a minute and see how it looks.

I've never tried this foundation with that primer, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to

give it a try.

I feel like this is drying down to kind of like a sort of demi-matte finish.

Like it still looks really radiant, but I'm not sure if I should set it or not.

I think I'm going to use the Milani Prep Set Glow Illuminating Powder and just kind of

dust that all over.

I love the radiance this product gives, and I feel like it gets no love on YouTube.

Still, not sure that it doesn't make my foundation a little bit darker than it should be, but

I like the glow a lot.

All right, let's get some cheek action going on.

This is my Aromaleigh Aconitum Napellus, something like that.

It's basically the contour powder of hers that I pressed.

And I just want to

use it to add a little bit of shadow.

I have a little bit of contouring going on.

Not much.

I'm going to put on Makeup Geek's Celestial next, because that's my highlighter.

Also, going to use this to highlight my face.

You can see Phaedra sitting there.

I'm not really sure what she wants.

Probably a walk.

All right, so my highlighter is on.

I want to put on a tiny little bit of blush.

When it came to blushes, the blushes that I took with me were Urban Decay's TMI and

Urban Decay's Obsessed and Urban Decay's Rapture, although I'm not sure where that's at.

Those were the three blushes that I was like, "Okay, I need them.

They need to be with me."

I think I'm going to put on a little bit of TMI.

And really I'm just popping a little bit on right here and kind of blending it in a circle,

in-between the contour and the highlight.

I think that's really all I need.

All right, so that's good for my blush, contour, highlight.

I put this on my lips.

This is Dr. PawPaw, to prep it before I put on any lipstick.

I love this so much.

I received one of these as a press sample at CosmoProf, but I've since bought four more

just to put around my house so that I never run out of it.

Love this stuff.

It's excellent for my lips.

I think I'm going to put on the Urban Decay Hex pencil, which is kind of like a burgundy.

It's one of my go-to liners.

This is one of the colors you'll see me wearing the hell out of this Fall, because I love

it so much and it goes with so many different things.

So I really just lined the outside of my lips and I'm going to fill in with Jouer Snapdragon.

Aah, that's a

whole bunch of lip color that came off.

Yeah, I think that's it for my finished look, so I hope you enjoyed this Chatty Get Ready

With Me.
