I do the milking alone because it's a bit difficult and also because

young guys today, they don't like to work hard

you can have many jobs, but to be a sheperd is always the same
milking is around 5.30 in the morning
and you finish at around 7 in the evening
but at least is a job
it's a strange job, because
sometimes it's sunny, sometimes it's rainy
sometimes the sheep breed the lamb
and you have always to have everything under control
that's it. You get a bit tired, specially in the summer
that you start early at 4 or 5 in the morning
and the sheep stay until 7 or 8 p.m. in the fields
in the winter is soon dark so you come back at 5 p.m.

my father is 80 and he's still gardening
he had an heart attack but he still works
he wake up at 5 am and works
and he's 80 years old
That's a good area
you have both sea and mountain climate
that's why we have a so good cheese
my wife makes cheese
we have different roles

from the fields to the mountains

and here for the sheep is not so good
so I sold some of them
now I have only 150 sheep
because of this, I also cut the trees
but in the past I was just a sheperd
during winter there is not so much grass
so you have to feed the sheep
there are lots of rocks in the ground here
that's a good area for goats
my mother had some goats in the past
but I don't have goats
I like them but it's more difficult to manage them
the sheep is more calm
but the goats are always going around
they escape easily
they damage the olive trees
I don't get so much money from my job
when I see people loosing job I feel lucky to be a sheperd
I don't get very rich but at least I live good
it's because the epoch is changed
but here everyone was a sheperd in the past
they had goats and they were cutting wood
then in the 70s the factories were opening
there was a "factories boom"
otherwise the source was only farming and agriculture
some of my friends are working for factories
they work in factories or as plumbers, carpenters and so on
they finish at 4 or 5 p.m.
but if you are a sheperd you work all day
to be sheperd is hard
now everyone want to work in the office
they want comfortable jobs
for example, if you study for a long time

it's normal no one is caring about farming
you have to be strong to be a sheperd
you have to be used to it
otherwise you will find it really hard
in the past they had farms in the mountains
and the sheperds were following the sheep
now is different
they were sleeping together with the sheep
now we have the stables for the animals
we feed them
I have always been a sheperd
but I have worked as a carpenter too
then, there was an economic crisis and so I helped my father in the farm
