Tough, old woman in the wild!
The tough, old woman fell into the stream today!
I'm soaking wet!
Now we have to find a spot to camp for the night!
It's a bit scary,
to fall into the stream
with a heavy backpack!
But, it went well this time!
Follow a tough, old woman and a young, eager husky in the wild :)
We will try to catch fish this time!
This is a perfect spot for a camp,
with the creek right beside!
We have struggled a bit to reach this place.
Kiro has been carrying a heavy load.
I fell in the creek and are wet.
I want to show you my boots!
Just wait a bit.
Let's see...
Quite wet!
I'm wet up to my thighs!
But it doesn't matter!
I just want to show you!
Now that's what we call wet!
Soaking!
Mud, peat and creek water!
Tomorrow we will hike higher up in the mountains and try to find a fishing lake!
We started at Upper Birtedalen today!
Then we walked into this mountain area called Austheiane.
Now that I've wrung out my socks, the only left to do is put them on again!
It's nice with the heather!
Kiro has got a fish!
It's good for you Kiro :)
A nice spot to make my camp!
The stream runs into a small dam here,
and all around I see the mountains!
This is a high mountain :)
And there we have Kiro sniffing sheep in the air!
It's difficult to keep him under control with sheep in the area!
He can hear them too!
He hears them as well as smells them!
You can hear the creek!
I caught a little trout in the creek - just to feed Kiro a bit extra.
He was very happy!
but..... tomorrow I will try to find my secret lake :)
It looks like it's cloudy today.
Nothing has dried!
Soaking wet pants!
But it doesn't matter when I am walking!
Are you ready, Kiro?
I'm ready!
Let's see how far we get today!
Beautiful area!
This valley is called Fitjardalen!
Amazing!
And the river flows along, nice and steady!
We are in the real Norwegian wilderness :)
I like it!
Mother nature offers me a few snacks!
Delicious!
Over there you can see "my lake"!
The first thing I have to do is to find a place for my tent,
it needs to dry!
Here I am!
A camp!
Now, the tent is erected on a small slope beside the lake.
Hope it will dry in the wind!
I hope so!
Now it feels really good to have reached my destination and just relax a bit!
I have walked about 9 kilometers.
It's not that far, but it was a heavy terrain and no path.
I had a heavy backpack because of the wet tent!
Here I have landed my first fish :)
In this lake.
Then I am quite happy!
It's fun to catch fish!
"My little boy;)" - you are waiting for fish - aren't you Kiro!
I will give you the small ones, they're food for you,
the big ones are mine!
We came all the way through that valley today.
I was exhausted for a while but,
everything is ok now because of this nice fish!
It's morning again.
I sit and try to decide what to do today.
Either I stay and fish, look for berries and relax,
or I move on.
Today I will use a new kitchen kit I have got from Kaja.
It's as small as this - made for one person.
I will show you!
It comes in a nifty little polyester bag.
Then there is:
a small pot
containing a cup.
And here we have both spoon, knife and fork ;)
Then we have a burner that I'm excited to try out.
Here we have a cup.
I guess it's possible to cook with this one too, and it contains another cup.
At last, a bigger pot.
It holds 8 deciliters - you can see the markings inside.
This one is much easier to carry than our Trangia Kitchen.
Perfect to one person!
I've decided to stay until tomorrow!
Just walk around by the water -
try to catch some fish -
maybe find some berries for the tomorrows porridge.
It could be delicious!
Thank you to Kaja for the new kitchen kit!
I'm really happy about it!
Here you see my lake!
A beautiful place on earth ;)
No paths to follow in this area.
That's fine!
Then you are alone in the wilderness :)
Here's a reason to be careful with drinking water in an area with sheep!
Yuck!
There's not a lot of blueberries to be found.
This is the direction for the hike tomorrow.
I hope to reach the cabin Nutvasshytta.
The landscape is quite special here,
grags, rocks and bogs.
It's nice!
No people around here :)
I think it's fish on the line!
I am still barefoot after the night.
It's fish!
Here we have a fish ;)
A fish...
I was in fact excited this time!
A giant fish ;)
And so, we continue.
I will try to find a path marked with red T´s a few kilometers further on.
I find the direction using the GPS, and certainly my knowledge of natural markers in the terrain.
Usually Kaja uses this GPS.
It's about time I learnt how to use it as well.
Here we go!
I found the way :)
I enjoyed using the GPS!
I had the right direction all the time.
It was fun!
I just have to get to the end of this lake, then I will arrive at the path.
Then it's easy to go!
I look forward to come inside and get dry.
I've been walking with sopping wet boots for three days.
I can live with that ;)
To come into a cabin will feel good now!
There's a separate cabin here for people with dogs.
I appreciate that!
This is the main cabin.
I try to get some fish in the lake nearby the cabin.
I have to try!
You can see Kiro behind me, he waits for fish.
Without any luggage I have walked up in the terrain to get some view.
The fog makes it difficult to get the great view.
The fog is coming as you see.
The lakes down here are nearby the cabin.
I reached the top before my breakfast.
Today's breakfast is porridge with berries.
Some cloudberries, some blueberries and three lingonberries.
My tent is hanging to dry on the bunk behind me.
I'm eating my oatmeal porridge.
Simple food when I'm out on my hikes.
I really appreciate the food then:)
I will drink a cup of coffee afterwards,
and then use the day to do some fishing!
It's some good fishing-lakes around here!
Look at this roe,
there are lot of fish "babies" happening here ;)
The fish are biting on worms at the moment.
This one is in better condition than the others.
Bigger and fatter!
This was fun!
This is a nice catch!
...you are dead!
It has been a good catch today!
It's starting to get dark and I don't have a headlamp with me.
I didn't know it would be that much fun to be here :)
Beautiful sky today.
Amazing!
Tomorrow's weather forecast is better than today. Hope it's true.
This is my last night in the cabin.
It's good to have The Norwegian Trekking Association!
Thank you!
A new day.
Day 5 or 6. I'm not sure any longer.
I have stayed in this cabin for 2 nights,
and 3 nights in tent. That's 5 nights and almost 6 days.
Let's see how far we can get today.
Here we can see down to Mjåvann - it's a long lake.
We will walk along beside this lake the most of the way.
Slow down - wait a minute!
yes - no
You have to go over here!
yes
no
This way Kiro!
Climb over here!
That's good!
Good boy!!
You are a good boy!
From here, I have a nice view once again.
This is the view back towards where we came from.
I follow the red marked path.
Came from this direction.
Have walked about 5 kilometers,
may be more.
In this direction it's 10 kilometers to the car.
I haven't decided yet,
but I have to choose soon!
This is the spot I wanted to reach today.
More correctly a bit further up, closer to another nice little fishing lake.
The thing is, it would be nice to put up a camp...
but I'm longing for home!
5-6 days away from Kaja and Teddia...
It's maybe 5 kilometers to the car - or 6
maybe 7 - something like that.
I'm extremely excited about the fishing lake up there.
But I have caught fish enough.
I will go home to Kaja!
And Teddia!
If I'm able to reach the car.
If not I have to make a camp another place.
I will try!
Nice place!
Wet track!
A very muddy track!
This fishing area we will come back to.
I want to make a video from this place.
Thank you for watching!
Welcome back!
Remember to subscribe , don't jibe ;) Hi-hi - I'm just kidding.
Nice if you subscribe.
Give us comments and share the video if you like it :)
Maybe you have some ideas for other hikes, nice and exciting places in Norway.
Tove became totally exhausted!
Kiro cools down in the cold water.
Is it good Kiro?
Maybe he is a bit tired too.
How will you come up again?
oh - I am tired!!
I think my legs are completely worn out!
My goodness!
Come on! We are going up here.
What the heck!
We have been walking for three and a half hours without a real rest.
It's easy to forget the resting.
I use to forget it when I walk alone.
I forget to take a break, I always want to just go on and on.
This time my body commanding me to take a break!
