Eat oranges, protect your bones New study shows vitamin C cuts risk of hip fractures

by: Michelle Simmons

In order to have stronger, healthier bones, all you need to do is to drink orange juice

daily.

According to a report by The Daily Mail, a new study suggests that increasing your intake

of vitamin C can reduce the risk of hip fractures.

Researchers from Zhengzhou University in China carried out a meta-analysis to assess the

association of dietary consumption of vitamin C and the risk of hip fracture.

In the study, they analyzed data from a total of six previous studies on vitamin C and fracture

risk, with more than 10,000 study participants in all.

For this study, they observed the vitamin C intake of 2,899 patients with hip fracture.

Then, they compared the results with 7,908 healthy volunteers of a similar age.

The meta-analysis on vitamin C and its effect on bones revealed that vitamin C consumption,

whether by eating foods rich in vitamin C or drinking their juice, make bones stronger

and prevents fractures.

The findings of the study revealed that the risk of a hip fracture can be reduced by five

percent for every 50 milligrams intake of vitamin C per day, which is equal to nearly

one medium-sized orange or one-fourth of a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice.

This means that one eight-ounce glass of orange juice could possibly lower the risk by 20

percent, while two glasses could reduce the risk by 40 percent.

The researchers concluded that increasing the amount of vitamin C in your diet can reduce

the risk of hip fracture.

To strengthen bones, vitamin C works by triggering cells known as osteoblasts to become mature

bone cells.

Our results strongly support the idea that increasing dietary vitamin C can decrease

the risk of hip fracture, the researchers wrote.

The study was published in the journal Osteoporosis International.

The increasing incidence of hip fractures

The study is relevant as more people suffer from bone fractures.

Every year, osteoporosis causes over 8.9 million fractures in people all over the world.

Osteoporosis, as defined by the National Institute on Aging of the United States, is a disease

that impairs bones and make them fragile.

The bones are living tissues, and in order to keep them strong, the body breaks down

old bones and replaces them with new bone tissues.

However, as you get older, at around the age of 30, bone mass stops increasing.

Furthermore, around the age of 40 to 50, lesser bones may be replaced while more bones may

be broken down.

Bone fractures caused by osteoporosis are most common in the hip, spinal cord, and wrist.

Osteoporosis is commonly experienced by older people, especially older women, although it

can develop at any age.

Globally, one in every three women aged 50 and above will experience a bone fracture,

while one in every five men over age 50 will experience the same.

In the U.S., more than 300,000 people aged 65 and above are hospitalized for hip fractures

every year.

Vitamin C and its functions

Vitamin C is essential for the growth and repair of tissues in every part of the body.

It is used to form a key protein that makes skin, tendons, ligaments, and blood vessels.

It is also used to heal wounds and form scar tissue, repair and maintain cartilage, bones,

and teeth, and help in the absorption of iron.

The recommended vitamin C intake for male adults is 90 milligrams per day, while female

adults need 75 milligrams of vitamin C a day.

Aside from orange and orange juice, other citrus fruits, tomatoes and tomato juice,

and potatoes are major sources of vitamin C to the American diet.

Artismia ~ Drawing 101 - 1: Circles, Squares, and Triangles - Duration: 10:08.

you need to retrain your brain learn how to see and change your perception of the

objects around you hey is Brandon here from artismia due to the high volume of

requests for drawing tips and tutorials I've decided it has begun. Today's video

is an introduction to some very simple basics that I believe will help to

improve your drawing skills.

okay here we go now the tips and concepts I'm sharing in this video are

intended for those who would like to improve their drawing skills while

drawing objects from observation remember any time you practice drawing

you are improving your drawing skills.

For most people and probably even for

yourself when you first look at something you immediately identify what

that object is when you look at an apple a tree a light bulb a shoe you

immediately identify that object and describe it with a specific vocabulary

word okay now let's do a little exercise when I say the word house what comes to

mind how about if I say the word bird or the word son or the word man comes to

mind now for some people you probably visualize the object for others they

might visualize the word itself but sadly all you're really doing is

visualizing a symbol like this and as far as I'm concerned it the

visualization of a symbol or the word can actually interfere with or make your

ability to draw that object much more difficult now by the time you're done

watching this video I want you to stop doing that I want you to stop

identifying objects for the specific vocabulary word that they are and once

you get identify apples as apples or chews as shoes or a chair as a chair or

spoon as a spoon because the spoon is not a spoon so what do you need to do

you need to retrain yourself to start seeing things without using words a

really great way of doing that is to limit your vocabulary and force yourself

to simplify the objects that you're looking at okay so here's your first

assignment using only three words describe the objects around you or the

things that you would like to draw as very simple shapes limit yourself to

only three words circles squares and triangles force yourself to only see the

objects as either circles squares or triangles practice this anywhere that

you are anytime of the day and as often as you can this will force your brain to

see simple shapes

even when you're out shopping you should be looking for circles squares and

triangles

okay so now one thing you can do to help yourself to see shapes better or to see

these simple shapes better is they use a piece of glass like this now what I did

was I used a piece of glass from the picture frame then if you happen to have

the picture frame you definitely want to keep the picture frame alright if you

don't have the picture frame and you just have a piece of glass I strongly

recommend that you take some duct tape and protect yourself by taking the duct

tape and wrapping it around the edges of the glass now what I also did with this

one is I happen to have some extra cord hiding PVC tubing that I already had

used for a different project for something else and this was just scrap

pieces but I cut it so that I could make myself a nice protective edge so that

when I'm using this I don't cut myself on the glass

additionally for this exercise you probably want to use some sharpies okay

you want to use a sharpie something that could be easily wiped off the glass

because the Sharpie actually will work really well from writing or drawing on

glasses you can then clean it off later okay if you have some other kind of

markers that will work like that just check them out test them out first and

see the dildo erase well then I sing about a sharpie is even after like 12

months of it if it dries on the glass you can just take a razor blade or

something scrape it off of the glass and it cleans up pretty good alright

additionally you will also probably need you may want to use some kind of

tabletop easels like one of these okay here I'm gonna be I'll be using probably

something symbolist before I have a wooden one that might work a little bit

better now if you don't have a table easel you may want to just hold it with

your opposite hand to keep it from moving or use some books a stack of

books or even some clamps like this that you can place it upon it to help hold it

in place so that it doesn't fall over

now you're also going to find some sort of object that you have an interest in

that you would like to potentially draw maybe either now or in the future I got

that old shoe that a lot of people throw garbage rather than vintage but the

objective here is to be able to play set in front of you and look at it through

the piece glass but before you start using your sharpie you need to find out

which eye is your dominant eye finds an object in the room anything around you

and point at it with your finger close to your left eye and if your finger

moves right if you close your left eye and your finger moves then your dominant

eye is your left eye whatever your finger is pointing at and doesn't bounce

with is your down at night so you got to figure out if that's your left eye or

your right eye for my case my down on that eye is my right eye so I'm gonna

close my left eye and keep it closed I want to make sure the glass does not

move okay I want to make sure nothing moves and I'm gonna keep that eye closed

and I'm gonna search now for specific shapes or simple shapes that make up the

shoe and the clock that's sitting on the table there

all right now I don't want to focus on all the little details I just want to

focus on the very simple shapes okay squares circles or triangles so

when I look at that shoe I'm gonna force myself to see a triangle so now if I

take my sharpie keep my eye closed I can actually start to trace that shape of

that shoe the first shape I see is a triangle okay I see a triangle I see

another square I see a half a circle here this technique helps you to see

actually it's a way of training yourself to see contour lines now contour lines

are something I want to definitely get into later on but right now I just want

you to start forcing yourself to see simple shapes

alright so I'm gonna do it one more time here with a little teddy bear instead of

these shoes clock oh now a different technique that you may prefer that will

help you to see simple shapes would be to use technology whether it's an iPad

an iPhone or some kind of tablet or device that allows you to take a

photograph of the object and then utilize a drawing app which you then can

trace over top of the photo that you've taken to help assist you in seeing more

simple shapes now this doesn't mean I support tracing but if this technique

helps you to see simple shapes more easily and assists you in your ability

to draw well then I guess it's a good place to start

okay another exercise that I recommend doing or practice seen is take a pencil

some paper and practice making those simple shapes just on the piece of paper

drawing with the pencil now use your entire arm use your shoulder all the way

down to the tip of the pencil don't just sit there and wriggle your wrist use

your entire arm to practice making circles squares and triangles practice

making these shapes use your entire arm though while you're doing this they have

them overlap use your arm and move around the paper all right guys it looks

like that's it for this one hopefully you found this video helpful if you have

any questions or comments please leave them below I look forward to hearing

from you and remember you can find me on most social media websites which ever

went your favorite just find me there and let me know what you're working on

thanks again for watching keep practicing

we'll see you next time

Friday the 13th: Jason's Doom [Mod para Doom II] - Duration: 6:41.

Beating Jason's on Nightmare isn't quite easy. He kills you with a single blow, but let's see what happens.

Friday the 13th Jason's Doom is one of my favorite Doom mods. We already have a video about it here,

in our channel, but it is sloppy and confusing, not living up to all the fun and the quality of this PWAD.

I messed up here, but it will not make much difference, since any attack from him is enough to kill you.

I was able to play it on ZDoom 2.8.1. It does not crash or anything, but the ceiling and floor get fucked up.

This background music from the map is also sensational, perfectly matching the mod's setting.

This music was ripped from the NES cartridge. The title song, however, was taken from the movies.

When Jason dies for the first time, he drops the blue key. It allows you to get out of the cabin and pick the

shotgun up to kill him again. And using the Machete in Nightmare is for those with suicidal tendencies.

The altar with the head of Jason's mother is a highlight of this PWAD. This is macabric nostalgic.

By the way, I find it fascinating how Jason's Doom manages to be creepy with colorful 8-bit graphics.

Jason's Doom uses the Sergeant Mark IV's Universal Gore Mod T4 to have this blood splatting

effect, which adds to the map's setting. I think this is an old Ketchup Gore Mod V5 version.

Jason's Doom Weapons are one of the key components that add fun to this mod. Some are based on other

games, like Duke Nukem 3D and Quake III Arena, two are from vanilla Doom and the ammo is quite

scarce. This hinders the player's life a lot, but not to the point of making him give up to win the map.

Jason's Doom is an interesting combination of an old 8-bit game with the updated features of the

advanced Doom ports. The creepy and nostalgic atmosphere, though colorful, added to the degree of

challenge that the mod provides, is really something that pleases me a lot. I wish there were more maps!

Download and more info are in the description. Used version: Friday the 13th: Jason's Doom 2.0

"You're the only survivor left. All of your friends are dead... Except for you! You have sent Jason Voorhees

back to hell. After the authorities have arrive, you start laughing hysterically as they take

you to the mental hospital. No one will believe you, until Jason returns... Game over. "

move okay I want to make sure nothing moves and I'm gonna keep that eye closed

and I'm gonna search now for specific shapes or simple shapes that make up the

shoe and the clock that's sitting on the table there

all right now I don't want to focus on all the little details I just want to

focus on the very simple shapes okay squares circles or triangles so

when I look at that shoe I'm gonna force myself to see a triangle so now if I

take my sharpie keep my eye closed I can actually start to trace that shape of

that shoe the first shape I see is a triangle okay I see a triangle I see

another square I see a half a circle here this technique helps you to see

actually it's a way of training yourself to see contour lines now contour lines

are something I want to definitely get into later on but right now I just want

you to start forcing yourself to see simple shapes

alright so I'm gonna do it one more time here with a little teddy bear instead of

these shoes clock oh now a different technique that you may prefer that will

help you to see simple shapes would be to use technology whether it's an iPad

an iPhone or some kind of tablet or device that allows you to take a

photograph of the object and then utilize a drawing app which you then can

trace over top of the photo that you've taken to help assist you in seeing more

simple shapes now this doesn't mean I support tracing but if this technique

helps you to see simple shapes more easily and assists you in your ability

to draw well then I guess it's a good place to start

okay another exercise that I recommend doing or practice seen is take a pencil

some paper and practice making those simple shapes just on the piece of paper

drawing with the pencil now use your entire arm use your shoulder all the way

down to the tip of the pencil don't just sit there and wriggle your wrist use

your entire arm to practice making circles squares and triangles practice

making these shapes use your entire arm though while you're doing this they have

them overlap use your arm and move around the paper all right guys it looks

like that's it for this one hopefully you found this video helpful if you have

any questions or comments please leave them below I look forward to hearing

from you and remember you can find me on most social media websites which ever

went your favorite just find me there and let me know what you're working on

thanks again for watching keep practicing

we'll see you next time

Don't Mess With Mac and Cheese - Duration: 2:50.

Now, there's a new food up for debate you all,

mac' n' cheese. >> Yes.

>> Okay.

>> Yes, yes.

>> Can't get this [CROSSTALK]

>> Okay, so let's get this straight now,

because I get in my feelings about this.

Social media exploded recently after Twitter user Jan Levenson posted this pic

with the caption look at the mac' n' cheese

my coworker brought to our potluck today. >> [COUGH]

>> Bro, I'm so offended.

She literally poured cooked macaroni into a pot and put shredded cheese on top

without an ounce of seasoning. >> What?

Not even salt and pepper? >> But

the cheese isn't even melted. >> Yeah.

>> Dude, this picture was retweeted

thousands of times with the homemade mac' n' cheese getting roasted by people

including director Miss Ava DuVernay who

tweeted- >> Yes.

>> I think you have grounds to file

a workplace grievance.

>> [LAUGH]

>> It's true.

>> [APPLAUSE]

>> That is hilarious.

[CROSSTALK] >> [APPLAUSE]

>> Okay, we all,

mac' n' cheese is an American favorite, everybody across the world eats mac' n'

cheese.

>> Yes. >> Yes.

>> Do you guys think this is food

faux pas? >> Well,

first of all can we please show what true,

homemade mac' n' cheese looks like? >> Yeah.

>> [APPLAUSE]

>> Yes.

My goodness!

>> And it even has the burnt,

crisp edges. >> Yes, yes!

>> At the top of the edge.

>> All about

the burnt part. >> Where you put it in the broiler for

a couple seconds at the end, right? >> Yes, so awesome.

>> Even the Kraft Mac and Cheese,

I got the box- >> Me too!

>> I eat that crap made.

>> Don't, the blue box blues is sometimes

really good. You guys don't,

nobody wants to eat Kraft macaroni- >> Hey just,

I need you to stop. >> I love it.

>> Now, when you are hungry and

that's a quick thing to just start, it can be really tasty-

>> Yo, anybody else-

>> You add some Adobo to that, and

it's really tasty- >> [LAUGH]

>> Cheating, cheating, cheating

>> But, I actually,

with Thanksgiving coming up, I actually do the big macaroni and

cheese for my family.

>> [CROSSTALK] >> I do it.

You guys,

you have to put eggs in there. >> Yup, mm-hm.

>> You need something to hold it together.

The eggs, the milk, butter in there and

you've got to season. >> Anybody grow up with government cheese?

>> Have you ever tried to melt that?

I did not know that cheese was supposed to melt till fourth grade.

>> It's like Velveeta's usually the best,

also you've got to get that in there.

You got that different types of cheese, different flavors-

>> All kind of stuff, you know?

>> But the key is the cheese has

to be melted.

What is happening here? >> Yeah.

>> But see that's why you can't

everybody's macaroni and cheese. >> You can't.

That is true. >> You don't allow some people

>> [APPLAUSE]

>> To bring the macaroni and

cheese. >> Yes.

>> If you know you can't cook it,

don't do that. >> Have you ever had

somebody? >> Did anybody eat that?

Do we know? >> Probably not.

>> [CROSSTALK] That's noodles and cheese.

>> [LAUGH]

>> I wanted to, this is random, but

I do want to ask.

I want a picture of who made that cheese.

I just wanna look.

You get what I'm saying. >> No.

IRAN vs USA: Is the Nuclear Deal in Danger? - VisualPolitik EN - Duration: 14:23.

While everybody has their eyes on North Korea, another nuclear program still worries those

in the White House.

That is the nuclear program of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

This country has such a bad reputation that when we talk about it, it can feel like we're

talking about one of those places that only exists in the movies, one of those countries

dominated by evil leaders who dream of destroying the world...

Well, there might be some truth to this, but definitely not as much as some seem to think.

In fact, Iran is not the most religious, authoritarian or the most hostile towards women place in

this part of the world.

Saudi Arabia is much worse... by far.

Dear viewer, Iran is a country of contradictions, a country whose government claims to work

under a democratic system, but at the same time, everything is under the control of one

man: Ali Khamenei, the supreme leader.

Even though, at first glance, he isn't as scary as his predecessor: Ruhollah Khomeini,

who was scary just to look at…

The truth is Ali Khamenei can't stand anything modern.

For him, modernity might as well have come from Satan himself.

Well... except for nuclear technology, of course.

That explains why in the past few years Iran has been famous for two things:

1.

Being one of the countries, alongside with China, where the most people are executed

every year, and…

2.

Wanting to build their own nuclear bomb.

However, unlike what happened with the North Korean crisis, the US and Iran did reach an

agreement:

In 2015, President Obama lead the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, an agreement to prevent Iran

from obtaining a Nuclear Bomb, and an agreement that many have considered to be one of the

greatest achievements in foreign policy.

Although, to be fair, all signs seem to point to the conclusion that this agreement has

not kept either party satisfied.

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, is pretty clear about his opinion on

the deal: ever since he was a candidate, he has described it as "the worst agreement

ever negotiated".

During his campaign, Trump vowed on many, many occasions that his top priority would

be to put an end to such a catastrophic agreement.

And don´t think it was the typical campaign message that every politician repeats over

and over again but then soon forgets after election, not at all in fact.

During, in his first speech at the UN Assembly, Trump repeated it, loud and clear:

They haven't done so yet, but it is true that both the president and many other members

of the Republican Party loathe, yep, loathe this agreement.

And they do because, among other things, agreements were also signed with North Korea…

And these agreements did not work at all… except for allowing Pyongyang to lay their

hands on the Bomb.

Well, you might be wondering why it is such a controversial agreement.

We'll look into that.

But before we do, let´s take a look at the context in which it was signed.

IRAN: A BUDDING SUPERPOWER?

During the Cold War, it was said that the Russians were so obsessed that they saw a

Chinese man behind every tree.

Something similar might be happening between Iran and the USA:

Since the islamic revolution of Khomeini in 1979, Iran has become one of Washington's

worst enemies.

It has accused Tehran of being the first sponsor of radical and anti-American groups like Hezbollah,

Hamas or the Taliban.

Not to mention the support of the Syrian regime of Bashar Al Asad.

But there is more.

Washington knows very well that Iran isn't just any country…

Look, it's huge.

Iran has more than 80 million inhabitants and one of the greatest amounts of mineral

wealth on Earth.

And, hey, it's not just oil and natural gas, but other minerals like copper, iron,

zinc, uranium, silver...etc.

But yeah, we all know oil and natural gas are especially important.

Well, that is why I want to ask this question: What is the biggest fear of many analysts

in Washington?

Well, that is the sum of Iraq and Iran.

Let me explain.

Both countries are neighbours, have a Shiite majority, and the influence of Tehran on Baghdad

has skyrocketed in the past few years.

Well, if we add up the oil reserves of both countries, the amount is one of the largest

in the world, larger than in Saudi Arabia or Venezuela...

So, coordinated international politics between these two countries would result in a superpower,

outside the control of Washington, of almost 120 million people and many, many natural

resources.

That would be a remarkable amount of influence…

So then, what would happen if Iran got a hold of a nuclear bomb?

On the one hand it would consolidate its role as an international superpower and its influence

over allies, like Iraq.

On the other hand, it would trigger an arms race with Saudi Arabia and the Emirates, countries

that have already said that they won't be left behind if Tehran manages to get a nuclear

bomb.

The result is obvious:

Tension, risk of proliferation, risk of nuclear disaster and also, a loss of American leverage

in the area.

It goes without saying that seeing such radical governments in possession of such powerful

weapons… doesn't exactly make anyone feel very safe.

Well, this was the situation when the agreement was reached in 2015.

THE DEAL

For years, the United States has tried to stop the nuclear program with financial penalties…

but they were useless.

Did they harm the economy in Iran?

Very much, but in no way did they stop the nuclear program…

So… finally, on the 14th of July 2015, the Nuclear Deal was signed.

An agreement with a clear target: to prevent proliferation and make sure Iran only use

nuclear technology to peaceful ends.

However, since then, the deal has suffered harsh attacks.

We're going to have a look at some of the reasons cited by critics of this agreement.

But first, I think now is a good time to think about the circumstances under which this agreement

was signed.

And the first thing we need to know is that the nuclear program in Iran is very, very

advanced.

Look, according to US intelligence, if the agreement was to be broken, Iran could develop

its first nuclear bomb in a matter of months.

This is the way it is today, and it was even truer in 2015 when the Iranian program was

working at its fullest capacity.

That is why I want to take a moment to think about the 3 possible outcomes:

War, agreement, or Iran with nuclear capability…

So, stopping the nuclear program with military intervention would not have been an easy task.

It would have resulted in many victims, the cost for the US would have been prohibitive,

and the US would have had to keep military intervention in the Middle East for decades.

To compare, it estimated that this would be the Iraq's war... multiplied by 5.

Because it's one thing to destroy infrastructure and a very different thing to eliminate the

knowledge a country has to make nuclear bombs.

Obama knew that this scenario was completely impossible.

What he wanted was to get away from the Middle East, and not to get in any more trouble…

involvement in this region has been a chronic nightmare for the United States.

But sure, on the other hand… not doing anything would have meant that Iran would have gotten

their new toy… and as we have seen, it would have resulted in an arms race in the region,

which Washington didn't want either.

So, an agreement was the only option left.

"We make a deal and everybody's happy, right?"

Mmmm, wait there, because despite that, many experts, especially Republicans, don't even

want to hear about this pact.

Are they all just war hawks determined to impose their ideas by force?

Well, maybe there are some like that… but the truth is… they also have a point.

They say (and they are right) that the US already signed many agreements with North

Korea and Pyongyang never kept its word, which is why North Korea is now a nuclear power...

They are convinced that Iran will do the same… and there is no better evidence of it than

this: Iran has not stopped their ballistic missile program.

"Iran is boosting its missile capabilities to order to increase the accuracy, preciseness

and range".

Iran will not stop the missile projects".

Nader Karimi Joni, Irani journalist

And this program is being developed...with North Korean technology...by the way.

So… it seems clear which way a deal with Iran will go.

Besides, since the pact has a limited duration, Iran could still put itself in a position

to get its  arsenal the moment the deal was over--and it could be armed in a matter of

months.

However, as we have seen, the alternatives aren't any better… and you know what?

Iran doesn't necessarily need to go the way of North Korea.

IRAN, BENEFITS OF THE AGREEMENT

I'm sure many of you are thinking that comparing North Korea and Iran is easy.

After all both countries are radical dictatorships, right?

Well, not really.

To be fair...things are a bit different.

Iranian society is much more openminded than North Korean society,

In Iran, there is a well formed middle class, there are political debates, and things like

having a smartphone and access to the internet are quite common.

In fact, most Iranians, especially the younger generation, are clearly pro-agreement.

You see, it's not just a matter of international politics.

It's also a matter of quality of life.

The penalties put in place by the international community were very damaging for Iran.

Look, in 2013, when the president Ahmadinejad, the main defender of the agreement, left power,

the economy of Iran was devastated:

Foreign investment vanished, the unemployment rate skyrocketed, inflation grew to around

40% and expectations for improvement weren't high…

In short, it was a complete mess...

But thanks to the agreement the penalties started to disappear and, and since then,

oil exports have tripled, for example.

I mean, Iran is not North Korea; they need the trade and economic advantages the agreement

has brought.

"The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action will produce the comprehensive lifting of

all UN Security Council sanctions as well as multilateral and national sanctions related

to Iran's nuclear programme, including steps on access in areas of trade, technology, finance,

and energy".

Preface of the deal with Iran.

http://eeas.europa.eu/archives/docs/statements-eeas/docs/iran_agreement/iran_joint-comprehensive-plan-of-action_en.pdf

The hope for Obama´s administration was that with a more prosperous and trade-open Iran,

the younger, more open minded generation would be allowed to take power in a few years.

However, those who oppose the agreement argue it is necessary to be more demanding with

Iran, because otherwise it will eventually become another North Korea, a new nuclear

power.

Anyway, it is not an easy situation as you can see, but, truth be told, I think it would

be a mistake to think that any pact is bad until proven otherwise.

Having Tehran under pressure might be a good strategy, but let's be careful not to go too

far, or we could all lose.

So, now it is your turn: If you were the President of the United States, what would you do deal

with Iran?

Easy To Make Christmas Decorations - How To Make Fabric Tinsel - Duration: 3:07.

Hi I'm Linda from Sewing Bee Fabrics. I want to show you how you can really spruce up

your Christmas tree by making some fabric tinsel.

So first of all what you

want is a pile of knit fabric scraps. Now I'm gonna use baby clothes because th

you can get loads of different patterns with just small amounts of fabrics to be

able to switch it up in between, and also being knit you don't get any fraying so

if you want to keep it and use it year after year it's going to last an awful lot

better than if you're using cotton scraps.

So next up, you're going to want

to deconstruct your baby grows. So what you're going to want to do is to take

out all the seams, all the zippers, all the poppers, all the buttons, and everything

else so that all you're left with is just the little scraps of fabric and then that's

what we're going to work with. Now depending on the length of your tinsel

will depend on how many baby grows you're going to want. Now I made a big 6

meter piece (20ft) so I went through an awful lot. So depending on what you want, you

might want a dozen baby grows or you might want a couple of dozen baby grows. You

might want to mix it up with some t-shirts or whatever else you happen to have lying around.

So what you want to do next is to cut your fabric anywhere from

half an inch to an inch or 1 centimetres to 2 centimetres is absolutely fine you

want to vary your width vary your length because then when you tie it on it makes

it look a little bit fuzzier, a little bit fuller, whereas if it looks a bit too

uniform it doesn't give quite the same effect so you need a decent amount to

start with all sorts of different lengths and sizes.

So next up you want to

cut your length of wool so I did mine about 6 meters because I want my tree to

look really thick with it and I find it easier to do this one piece. Then at both

ends you need to tie yourself a really big knot so that once you attach

the fabric on, it can't accidentally slide off.

So the next thing really

couldn't get much simpler all you're going to do is to tie your pieces around

your string so there's the first one there and then you're just going to go

for the next one

and you're gonna keep going like this until it starts looking a little bit

like a garland, like so.

Once you've tied a few on it should be starting to look

like this where you're looking for more gaps in between what you can then start

doing is to start pushing them together and then you'll find you've got a lot

more to be able to tie on so you want to try and get them as close as possible

and the more you can push them up as close as possible

the thicker you're going to end up with it.

So when you're finished it should look

all fluffy like this and when you're at that point it's ready to go on the tree!

And if you enjoyed that don't forget to hit like and subscribe we'll bring you

more tutorials soon. We hope you have a lovely Christmas and a very happy New Year!

Mom Breastfeeding Newborn In Front of Haters - Duration: 2:46.

A mother of two has gone viral for sharing a picture of herself breastfeeding in front

of two haters who told her to cover up.

I'm going to tell you her story, here for you on IO.

Welcome back to IO, I'm charlotte dobre.

Before I get into this video, tell me in the comments below how you feel about breastfeeding?

Is it something that should be done in private?

Or do you think that a mother should be able to feed her child wherever she wants?

Brittni Medina and her family are annual pass holders at Disneyland California.

She has a ten month old son named.

If you've ever been to Disneyland, you know how long the lines can be, and that can be

daunting especially for parents with small children.

Have you ever tried to wait in a line with a kid?

Kids have not developed the understanding that you have to wait your turn, they don't

understand.

So imagine having to deal with that, and then also having to deal with a little baby who's

incredibly hungry, and the only way you can feed him is if you take out your tatas in

front of everyone.

Brittni was waiting in line to take a picture in front of the Cars Land sign.

It was almost their turn, and her baby could not wait to be fed.

So she fed her son in line.

As you can see from this photo, Brittni had a couple of haters who told her to go to a

restroom and cover up.

I mean super convenient for them because if Brittni left the line, they would move up.

Brittni is actually a mother of two, and she has an older son as well.

When her older son was little, she used to cover up.

But according to brittni, people stare and complain no matter what.

So in response, Brittney made sure her husband got her haters = in the picture, and she posted

it on the breastfeeding mam talk facebook page.

Naturally it generated its fair share of negative comments.

Some people just aren't okay with breastfeeding, but what I find crazy is, our society and

the rules that make up that society are taking precedence over rules that are essential to

human survival.

You're seriously going to deny a baby its food because you're uncomfortable about

breasts?

Plus, you're at Disneyland.

This is a place meant for children, and children need to eat.

I personally think brittni is a great mother.

In order to keep her son happy, she couldn't deny him food or a picture in front of the

cars sign.

Amazingly, this post ended up reaching the family of the women who were in the photo.

A member of their family wrote the mother to say he was ashamed of his aunts behaviour.

The younger woman commented on an article saying denying she said anything.

Don't you love the power of social media?

Anyways friends, those are my thoughts on this story, don't forget to share your opinion

in the comments below.

I'm going to take this opportunity to respond to some comments.

Charlene van as – you always make me laugh charlotte even on serious videos.

How do you do that.

I am not sure.

Magic?

Marlar house – it'll never work out between us IO.

You say potato and I say potato.

Lets call the whole thing off.

Sad it wont work out, but if the rest of you want ot keep watching IO, check out this video

Frankinsects Scientists have "edited" a yellow, wingless mosquito with three eyes as a pest control - Duration: 5:03.

Frankinsects Scientists have edited a yellow, wingless mosquito with three eyes

as a pest control strategy

by: Vicki Batts

Could mosquitoes be the next insect to fall prey to modern science?

Researchers from the University of California at Riverside have just unveiled a gene-edited

mosquito; they say their creation could pave the way for controlling the mosquito population.

But as weve seen in pollinator populations, just because scientists say their concepts

or products are safe, doesnt mean they are.

While theres little doubt that mosquitoes are one of the most-hated insects, the truth

is that they are still an integral part of the Earths ecosystem.

While many people recognize that though bees can sting, they are essential pollinators,

few realize that the tiny, blood-thirsty mosquito also plays a key roll in pollination.

Further, mosquitoes and their larvae are a source of food for many different creatures.

Mosquitoes may be annoying, but how far should we be willing to go to control their populations?

Scientists create mutant mosquitoes

Researchers from the University of California at Riverside (UCR) just published a study,

detailing how they created a three-eyed, yellow mosquito without functional wings using the

latest genome editing technology.

The experiment was led by Omar Akbari, assistant professor of entomology in UCRs College

of Natural and Agricultural Sciences.

Akbari also belongs to the universitys Institute for Integrative Genome Biology.

Using the highly controversial CRISPR/Cas9 technology, Akbari and his team were able

to disrupt normal eye, cuticle and wing development in mosquitoes.

The CRISPR/Cas9 technology is often described as a biological cut and paste tool;

it allows scientists to cut away unwanted bits of the genome and replace them with other

traits.

The teams end result?

A three-eyed, yellow, wingless monstrosity that hardly resembles the mosquitoes found

in nature.

According to Akbari, this is just the beginning.

The team created this non-functioning mosquito as a proof of concept. Basically, they

created this insect to show the world that they can manipulate the mosquitos genome

in such a way to render them incapable of reproducing.

As Science Daily reports, Their long-term goal is to use Cas9-expressing mosquitoes

together with another technology called gene drives to insert and spread genes

that suppress the insects while avoiding the resistance that evolution would typically

favor. Akbari claims that with more testing, they can ensure these gene drives do

not spread into the wild.

Concerns about gene-edited insects

Regardless of how you feel about mosquitoes, one might question the ethics of this display:

Is it really about helping people fight off diseases like malaria, or are these kinds

of experiments just a show of mans ill-conceived attempts at dominating Mother Nature?

Further, weve already seen how disastrous Big Biotechs attempts at controlling

so-called pest populations can be for the rest of the environment.

Look no further than the rapidly declining population of bees and other insects for proof

of that.

Pesticides declared safe have already yielded devastating effects on our bee populations;

for example, neonicotinoid pesticides were recently found to be harmful to bees but,

the EPA has done nothing to prohibit the use of these hazardous chemicals.

While the researchers at UCR claim that their methods of gene editing would be safe

for the environment, is it truly possible for them to predict the outcome of their GMO

mosquitoes with 100-percent certainty?

Of course not.

In fact, many scientists disagree on the safety of using gene drives in the wild.

As Quanta Magazine explains, the use of gene drives increases the likelihood of certain

traits being passed on to offspring up to nearly 100 percent.

Recent modeling of CRISPR-derived gene drives by MIT and Harvard shows that these drives

can be quite invasive.

Charleston Noble, a doctorate student at Harvard University noted that invasive means that

if even a small number of organisms with a gene drive are released to a large wild population,

its likely that the drive element could spread within that population and to neighboring

populations.

While you may not miss mosquitoes right away, it wouldnt take that long for their absence

to take its toll on the food chain.

How To Write a Band Bio That Captures Everyone's Attention - Duration: 2:56.

Your bio is a huge part of your identity as a band.

It shows up everywhere you go.

That being said, it's kind of important that you don't bore people to death with your bio.

So in this video I'll be giving you my top three tips to write a bio that will capture

everyone's attention.

Hey, I'm Jenna and welcome to Publicifi.

This channel is all about how to be a successful DIY musician so make sure you like or subscribe

if you haven't already to stay tuned on my weekly videos.

Now let's jump straight into it.

The first step to writing an amazing band bio is to find your unique story.

Most band bios I've seen follow the exact same boring formula.

Where they were from, how they got started in music, what instruments they learned first.

There's nothing memorable about that.

Storytelling on the other hand is the absolute best way to be remembered.

I'll admit, it's going to be really hard to think of your story to start with but begin

by asking yourself a few questions.

Consider how you and your bandmates met.

Consider how you grew up.

Do you have any crazy stories from the first gigs you played?

Now I'm not in a band but I had to write my own bio for Publicifi and trust me it took

me a long time to find my story.

But then I finally thought of it.

I moved to England originally from Canada for uni but I fell in love with the DIY music

scene in Leeds.

I ditched uni for two weeks, went across the UK with a band and when I came back I had

to talk myself out of an academic warning.

But it was all worth it because I followed my passion and that is how Publicifi was born.

This became my story.

And it's what people ask me about all the time now.

It's memorable.

This brings me to my second tip.

Ditch all those fancy words you're using to describe yourself and your music.

You're really not fooling anyone.

Write in the way you usually talk.

You should definitely still write your bio in the third person but put yourself in the

shoes of someone who's a fan of your band and talking about your band to their friend.

Use the same casual language they would use.

Use the same emotional language they would use.

Basically, just talk like a human.

Whenever I'm writing up a script or a blog post for Publicifi I run it through this really

cool website called the Hemingway Editor.

Basically I put my text into this website and it comes back and tells me exactly where

I've used too many complicated words, big words I don't really need or long sentences.

It makes everything super simple.

Write up a draft of your band bio and run it through the Hemingway Editor.

It will make it super easy for you to make sure your bio is clear and concise.

So you've got your cool story down.

Then you made sure you weren't talking like a posh robot.

Now it's time to bring it all home with some press quotes.

Press quotes are amazing for social proof.

They show people reading your bio that someone other than yourself think you're pretty cool.

It doesn't matter if your quotes are from the NME or from your local town radio station

they're all good to add into your bio.

So those were my top three tips on how to write a bio that won't put people to sleep.

I hope you enjoyed this video.

(Part25) (4K) 2017 4Runner TRD PRO Cement. CHEAP AIR Compressor Review!! Must See - Duration: 2:51.

Hey guys, this is Tactical Expedition.

Review of the air compressor.

So after off-roading, I'm going to fill the air back up.

I'm just using this cheap one, SLIME Sealant Air Compressor.

I want to see how fast it charges. It's at 25 PSI.

It's connected to the cigarette lighter jack.

That's the view.

When it started, it was 25 PSI.

The TRD PRO Tire Rate is at 32 PSI.

See, 32 PSI. Okay?

So, I'm just putting it to about 30 PSI.

When this goes to 30 PSI, it's actually at 32 PSI.

That's my camping system.

All packed into one.

It's dirty but... it did it's job.

And I'm carrying the 4-gallon gas tank fuel.

Emergency Fuel.

Let's see.

Rotopax with the lock in the front, no lock in the rear.

Maxtrax, locked.

That's the awning from Equipt1.

That is must have items.

Let's check on the tire.

It's at 30 PSI.

So, let's take this out.

And let's see.

See, it's at 32 PSI.

Perfect.

Anyways, this was a review of SLIME air compressor.

It's small but it does it's job.

All right . Take care.

Drunk Reviews: Blade Runner 2049 - Duration: 2:42.

We'll win the game or know the reason why

Stanford Sucks!

Alright, I'm here with a crew, and we are here to review Blade Runner 2049

So uh, what do you think, guys?

Yeah, you know, I...

Obviously, visually stunning film but I sort of found it a little...

I miss the claustrophobia of the original

I kinda disagree, you know

I think the fact that it was different from the first one,

It shows that this city, you know, future Los Angeles has changed in the thirty years that have elapsed

It was a great successor to the first Blade Runner

I thought it was very, like, Noir

Like a new vir- virtualristic?

Virtualistic

Oh no, umm Modernistic

Neo Mod- Modernist?

Yeah, like a

Rather than simplistic, there's sort of a unity within like the color palette

..maybe? -Yeah

Which I think is also inherent of that sort of like neon-noir idea

Yeah, well, it's like everything's just like bathed in neon light, which is-

it's so beautiful to have this really just like dingy, grimy city, that's so bleak otherwise,

But then you just see it's all these neon lights

You know, for all it's faults, it's still just such a thought-provoking movie

and I just loved it so much

AIGHT, SO, here's the real question - Yeah

Who's hotter?

Who's hotter? - Ryan Gosling!

Ryan Gosling I hear - Nooo, come on, Ivan

have some class, Harrison Ford. Harrison Ford.

I thought that there wasn't enough like, sex That was my feeling

Yeah, you know

Or explosions - NO!!

We need more explosions - Right, those are the two metrics

where by I measure how good the movie is

and you know, the trailer promised like there was explosions

and there was like some hints of nudity

but basically this was just like a $180 million art house film

*Ivan burps* Oh my god

- that dragged on for like three hours

I was expecting someone, you know like Michael Bay, like POW! POW! BOOM! BOOM!

Sex! Explosions! And like more sex and then crammed in between explosions

But no. It just sucks!

The movie, like, there was like three explosions - What movie are we talking about?

Who even knows?

I don't remember it, there were explosions, they were just not memorable

Yeah - You know,

Every explosion that was in the movie, you already saw in the trailer

That's very true - It's false advertising

Oh my god, that's true - Yeah

Even Ryan Gosling wasn't even naked in it

That's a cheap date - Not even once

Or even a glimpse of a nip, like no nip slip

No nips - No slips

Free the nip

How to do the Pull Up Proper Way 100% ( Common Mistakes ) Kako pravilno uraditi zgib - Duration: 2:20.

yo yo yo welcome yo yo yo

Today i will show you how to do proper pull up

As always the grip matters, not to wide not too close, just regular shoulder width appart,a little more than that

You can have under grip or over grip as i call it like that

This is the WRONG PULL UP

That swinging like a fish on the ground

What you need to do is

As the bar is straight so are you

Straight line no curves, just up and down

As you can see retracted scapula

So you can hit your back even more, beacuse then you are using back and arm pull at the start

So when you are down, retract your scapula and go up

It is harder but its better to do quality than quantity as i always say

Tipical half pull ups

Elbows not locked out,big mistake

You must go all the way down to lock your elbows out and then like i said before, retract scapula

Your head cant go like this

You are looking at the sky,big mistake, that is not chin over bar

This is the proper way

So head over the bar straight line

no neck bending

This is a proper pull up

few proper pull ups

As i said, they are harder and you will do less numbers, but it will hit your muscles more

Thanks for watching and i will see you somewhere in space hhhhh

Look at the train haha
