Youtube daily report w Mar 2 2018

Hello there!

This is the "Sounds American" channel.

In this video, we're going to talk about the American R-colored vowel /ɛr/,

as in the word "chair."

You can also hear this sound in words like

"there"-"bear"-"share" or "marry."

We'll be using special phonetic symbols — /ɛr/ — for this sound.

Let's recap what we've learned in the R-Colored Vowels Overview video:

The /ɛr/ is one of the seven American R-colored vowel sounds.

The /ɛr/ is an R-colored diphthong

and it's made by merging the /ɛ/ and the /r/ sounds.

As with all R-colored vowel sounds,

the /ɛr/ is often distorted by non-native English speakers.

The spelling for /ɛr/ could be confusing

as this sound is represented by several different combinations of letters.

Now, let's find out how to pronounce this R-colored vowel.

To make the /ɛr/ sound correctly,

focus on pronouncing two sounds and making a smooth connection between them.

This is how you do that.

Start with making the /ɛ/ sound.

Partially open your mouth, slightly spread your lips and relax them.

Now, let's place your tongue in the correct position for the /ɛ/ vowel.

Push your tongue to the front of your mouth and relax it.

Raise the middle of your tongue to the roof of your mouth.

The tip of your tongue can be lowered just behind your bottom front teeth.

Next, connect the /ɛ/ to the /r/ sound with a long gliding movement.

Slightly round your lips.

Curl back the tip of your tongue.

Now, slightly lower the center of your tongue and raise its back.

Your tongue should be tensed.

Now, let's color the /ɛ/ with the /r/ and blend the two sounds together:

Let's talk about the most typical mistakes that people make when pronouncing the /ɛr/ sound.

Number one.

Many non-native English speakers reduce the /r/ sound in the /ɛr/ vowel.

This would be fine in British English,

but an American accent requires the /r/ to be pronounced.

So, if you reduce the /r/,

your American /ɛr/ sound will be distorted and it may lead to misunderstandings.

Compare:

Number two.

Some non-native speakers pronounce the /r/ in the /ɛr/,

but they trill it.

Remember, Americans never R-colored vowel sounds.

Compare:

How do you avoid trilling?

The tip of your tongue should never touch the alveolar ridge when you pronounce the R-colored sounds.

Remember, both sounds in the R-colored vowels are equally important.

Don't reduce the /r/ and avoid trilling it!

Now, let's practice the /ɛr/ sound in some words.

This is how it works.

You'll see a word on the screen and hear its pronunciation.

Like this.

You'll have a few seconds to pronounce the word.

Make sure you complete this part and practice as many words as possible.

This is the only way to improve your American accent.

Let's begin.

You're done!

Congratulations!

BTW, did you know that the /ɛr/ sound is represented by at least eight (!) combinations of letters?

Take a look:

Most often, the /ɛr/ sound is represented by 'ar' as in "scare" or "parent."

Less often by 'er' as in "very' or "there,"

and 'air' as in "air" or "pair."

There are quite a few words with 'arr' as in "carrot" or "arrow,"

and 'err' as in "cherry" or "merry."

In some words, these three combinations are pronounced as /ɛr/:

'ear' as in "wear" or "pear,"

'eir' as in the word "their"

and 'ur' as in "bury."

While several of these combinations of letters represent the /ɛr/ sound in some words,

they may also represent other R-colored vowels in other words.

We know, it's confusing, but that's how English works.

D.C. v. Heller - Duration: 5:34.

Mr. Beat presents

Supreme Court Briefs

Washington, D.C. 2002

Robert A. Levy of the libertarian think tank the Cato Institute, seeks to challenge a DC law that made it illegal to possess handguns, automatic guns, or high capacity semi-automatic guns.

In fact, the law, which had been effect since 1976, said DC residents couldn't even keep them in their own homes.

Levy tries to find DC residents to sue the city, based on his argument that the gun ban went against the Second Amendment of the Constitution.

Levy would fund the whole thing. He found six residents with various backgrounds who agreed to sue,

among them Shelly Parker, a software designer who wanted a gun to defend herself against violent drug dealers in her neighborhood.

Levy chose her to be the leading plaintiff.

Also among the plaintiffs was a dude named Dick Heller.

Heller was a licensed police officer who got to carry a gun for his security job guarding federal buildings, yet it was illegal for him to have a gun in his own home.

Heller was passionately against the gun ban and spent years fighting it, even previously going to the National Rifle Association, or NRA, in attempt to sue the city.

The NRA had declined.

In district court, Levy and his plaintiffs had no success.

In fact, District Court Judge Ricardo Urbina dismissed the lawsuit.

However, the Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit reversed that dismissal, saying D.C.'s gun ban was unconstitutional.

The Court argued that the Second Amendment "protects an individual right to keep and bear arms."

They also argued that right existed before the Constitution existed, and that the idea of owning a gun was that it could be used for things like hunting and self-defense.

Not only self-defense from intruders to the home, but even tyrannical governments.

Woah. Man, bold statements there.

Oh yeah, they also said the only plaintiff who could claim damage, though, was Dick Heller, who apparently was the only one who had applied for a handgun permit but was rejected.

The District of Columbia appealed to the Supreme Court, and Heller was like, "yeah, please do."

You see, the Supreme Court had kept pretty silent on The Second Amendment throughout American history.

In fact, it hadn't even considered the true meaning of the Second Amendment for about 70 years, so when it agreed to hear the case on November 20, 2007, it was certainly historic,

which is why I guess I'm making a video about this case. I mean, duh, Mr. Beat.

Anyway, the Court heard oral arguments on March 18, 2008.

The big question was "Did the DC law restricting access to guns kept in the home go against the Second Amendment?"

The Court said "yes."

On June 26, 2008, it announced it had sided with Heller. It was 5-4.

The Court argued the Second Amendment wasn't just about having a well-regulated militia, and that the term "militia" wasn't just those serving in the military.

They said the Second Amendment was also about individuals having the right to have weapons to defend themselves.

So this part was independent from this part.

So banning guns commonly used for protection violated the Second Amendment.

However, the Court added that the Second Amendment is not unlimited.

Not everyone should be able to get a weapon.

It wasn't a right to have a weapon whenever or for whatever purpose.

And the type of weapon mattered. Extremely dangerous weapons, not commonly used for hunting or self defense could be banned.

Really, most of the arguments revolved around the self-defense argument.

For the dissent, Justice John Paul Stevens argued that the Second Amendment doesn't protect an unlimited right to have guns for self-defense purposes, and that it was really about the right for Americans to have weapons for military purposes.

The dissent seemed to read the Second Amendment more as a whole.

Critics accused Antonin Scalia, who wrote the opinion of the decision, and the rest of the majority of judicial activism, meaning their ruling was based on their personal opinions, not an objective interpretation of the law.

Regardless, D.C. v. Heller is the Supreme Court decision that made it clear that the Second Amendment was about an INDIVIDUAL'S right to own guns.

It was a rare time when the Court explicitly said what the Second Amendment means, although they still left some gray area, and the gun control debate is far from settled.

With the unfortunate regular occurance of mass shootings in the United States, this decision remains very controversial.

However, those who want to further limit guns in the United States likely will have more success passing new laws or even amendments to the Constitution, not new lawsuits.

I'll see you for the next Supreme Court case, jury!

I've been waiting to make an episode about that case for a very long time.

But I feel the time is right now due to the recent shift in the national dialogue about gun control.

Do you agree with the Court with the D.C. v. Heller decision?

Do you think that gun laws in the United States should change?

If so, HOW should they change?

Let me know down below.

And I will be releasing my next video on Saturday instead of Friday for two reasons.

One, I will be headed to SXSW EDU.

The second reason is because it will be a collaboration with Khanubis Productions. Thanks for watching. We'll see you next week!

R-Colored Vowel / ɛr/ as in "chair" – American English Pronunciation - Duration: 10:41.

System that's coming your way up north

Heavy heavy rain and the winds this morning or

Awful all of the ferries around in my, area the ocracoke, ferry the a

Ferry from ocracoke to hatteras the hatteras to ocracoke

Just about all of the ferries there's one or two that's still open but they're

Gonna be closing soon and they've all shut down the wind is?

Awful and i'm not getting half the stuff that you guys are but, my power has

Gone off and stayed off three times and it has flicked five times

Since i've been up this morning so let's get on with it while i can

This, is the latest briefing i'm just gonna go over these briefings as quickly as possible this is for the new. Jersey and delaware

Area in here strong to damaging winds it's the latest one as of 6. A.m.. This morning

Major, coastal storm today into

Saturday, what has changed not much folks it's coming. Your way i hate to tell you

But it looks like, by the time it gets to you

You're! going

to Have this stuff the winds are going to increase rapidly this morning peaking during the afternoon and evening before

diminishing slowly tonight and

Tomorrow, this thing just hangs around it's a slow

Mover keep that in mind okay you're, gonna have wind gusts of 50 to 60

Miles per hour with sustained winds of 25 to 35 so

More than likely you're, going to have some trees down, some power down and you could possibly

lose your power, also where is it's at everywhere the strongest gusts mainly in

pa

Delmarva southern and coastal new, jersey, okay, you are gonna have the hat a heavy rain

One and a half to two and a half inch it's locally higher

amounts the roadways are going to be bad and when these little showers come up it's not like a thunderstorm

It's just heavy heavy rain last night i could, not see

Across the water it was raining so hard i could hardly see to the edge of my

Bulkhead i'm just trying to tell

You, people i'm not trying to scare you i'm trying to tell you if you happen to get in one of these particular rain, bands

It's going to be very very very heavy

High, tide, this morning through, saturday night that's when coastal flooding is going to happen around, new

Jersey, delaware atlantic coast and delaware bay including all of the back bay's - and snow

yeah, she got some snow in

northeast

Pennsylvania and the poconos in northwestern new. Jersey you that's today and tonight and the winds for all the

mariners out there

Today and tomorrow now as we move on down, we see all this see everything is elevated?

Significant or extreme i want to move along here this is the rain gauge as you can see now

Where it's yellow, that's the heaviest most rain, this color is looking

Like probably a inch to a half an inch and as it lightens up that's lesser rain, it doesn't matter if you get the rain

The wind is going to the wind is the thing you need to look at here it's going to push all this water up

okay

Snowfall here you go

This, is what's expected? Not too, bad down around atlantic

City medford all these guys in this area right here over dover georgetown

That's zero inches when you move a little to the north up at moorestown, new

Brunswick is nothing but moistu towns can get an inch

Belvedere a lintel

You, people looking at about an inch of snow

okay

so

Please please please keep this a mud

Flooding here we go forever

Forever now this has changed a bit since last night

Last night right in this way, was major flooding all around cape

May, this morning national weather, service has at moderate flooding moderate flooding, from just north of middlesex

All the way, down the coastline all around up to cumberland, also down ends

Susake, skint all the way up now, when you get to the yellow, from minor flooding and when you get to delaware?

Philadelphia, and bucks all the way up to mercer that is spotty flooding it will flood in some

Areas, some areas it won't when you see this green

No, flooding that's what's expected, no flooding in that area

Okay, moving right on along here generally one to two and a half inches of rain lesser amounts of delmarva

You got the chance of flooding i don't have to go on with that your winds will increase rapidly this morning

25 to 35, miles per hour with gusts up 50 to 60, miles per hour

Through, this evening they should calm down

Late tonight but i'm telling you you're

Still going to have some wind i cannot believe the wind that i'm having this morning at my house

Before i go, any, further this morning i want to take just a moment to say please check on the elderly if you have

Any, elderly neighbors around. You please check on the disabled and please don't forget about pets

Please, do these things i know

When i have a. Hurricane coming, my, way it's really bad on me and

Please just check on these people if there's anything you can, do for them, make sure they're safe

And make sure your pets are safe, okay, now we're up into the

boston area this came out yesterday

Afternoon as i looked at it last night i didn't update it because the storm was going on and i was having power problems and?

It's the same they haven't changed anything yet but they, did update it at 3:13

Yesterday afternoon so this, is what it's like?

What has changed when they updated it the

Increased snow totals especially across the higher terrain of central and western

Massachusetts. How wind warning will be

Expanded, okay in the northwest into the northeast and central

massachusetts, and

Northwest rhode island now the wind advisories

Everywhere else in southern new england winter storm warnings will be issued for the berkshires and

Also, other areas coming up hurricane hurricane force wind now. You didn't have, this but you do now

Hurricane-force-wind warning

issued for

eastern

Massachusetts, waters including around cape and islands except for boston harbor as

You can, see here this flooding is going to start for you. Guys, from late, this morning and

tonight and

Tomorrow, because you've got all these different cycles of the full moon and yes the full moon is out bright i saw it at 4:00

A.m.. This morning

That's what's going to happen it's not going to just

Happen one time and go

Away it's going to build constantly and it's this is for the eastern massachusetts closed including man tucket

okay

25 to 35 foot seas

please anybody out on the water get in

The damaging winds

40 to 75 mile per hour

Plus gust

One one place i saw it already up to 80 mile-per-hour

Gust as it was headed. Your way i don't know, what you guys are getting at the moment but

Your, worst has not even gotten to you, okay now of course this

Is the same old routine for like it is for all of us things are, going to fly around trees are probably

going to fall

Excuse me and you have the greatest chance of power outages this is for all eastern maine and rhode island and especially the cape

Islands this is friday and saturday

The heavy heavy rain in eastern maryland and rhode island

That heavy rain is for today and that's gonna. Cause, some river flooding

Rain, will be changing to wet snow

The greatest risk is in the interior high terrain but cannot be ruled out across other

Locations when should this happen, this afternoon into

Tonight you can see look you got lots of extremes coastal flooding beach erosion an eastern maine extreme

Storm force winds waves over 25 feet all

Southern new england waters extreme

Damaging winds are significant, along with the freshwater, flooding that's elevated and the heavy wet snow

is

also

Significant here you go with. Your flooding, map three to four foot, storm surge is

Expected wherever you see the red

Well that's a?

Major, flooding, okay?

Moderate to, major flooding, where it's yellow. That's minor flooding

Everywhere, along the coastline here you guys are going to get

flooding now

when high tide comes up the shorter roads of course, they flood up and

Your roads act could i flood up to three feet of water and these roads are probably more than likely

Going, to be impassable many basements or probably going to flood there's going to be beach erosion and dune breaches

Sea, walls may be damaged?

Damage possible to shore line bill mainly in the historically vulnerable spots

Damage to marinas docks and piers, boy i knew about piers getting tore up small

Smaller craft may break, away from moorings especially in the unprotected areas

Ok, the timing, well with the tide cycles it's going to be friday

Through, midday into

Saturday, midday

this is a look at the wave height and wind gust you wind gust or over here everybody is in

from 60 to

69 to 68 to 67. You got the drift ok, we have

157 this should be around, high swings you get around block island

So far as your waves look at that 30 to 35

all

Around when you come right up shore these are like 12 to 15 7 to 10 you got the drift

Northwest winds are going to gust

65 to 80 miles per hour

for all of the mariners

Please be careful, hurricane-force wind gusts coupled with

The 25 to 35 foot seas is going to result in life-threatening situations

please please

get the word out and keep this in mind

Wind gusts for everybody around plymouth i want to put this up a bit you see this circle that's right here

I've been saying all along

Providence town and nantucket you guys are just going to get it

Bless your hearts, and that's the way the national weather service is looking at it now, also

providence town

Hurricane, force wind gusts, may result in property damage and

Numerous power outages in all of this area, okay you got 74 mile-per-hour

Wind gust appear?

76 down in nantucket and this just goes on and on plummets you're

Gonna be on the edge anywhere from 60 to 70 i'd say boston

62 miles per hour

newburyport 64 and even as, we come in 'ln over in foxboro 56 bedford 52

We live a, little further you can see putnam 49

over here hartford 45

The lowest, we have is in north adams?

And that's around 33 but you guys you see it i know

You've got to be prepared, by now i know a lot of you have already evacuated

if

You, choose to do so that's a good idea if you're, not used to this kind of stuff going on i would

Recommend it highly if you haven't been through a lot of this and even if you have

Still it might be a. Good idea this is like a hurricane in the wintertime

You, won't get a direct hit but it's. Gonna be so close you're, going to get all side effects right

Okay, this is a total for the brain

Looks, like i'll, do better it's going to get three to four inches and for the snow

New bedford 1 to 2 is we move on up you see 3 to 4 4 to 6 this, is what's happening here

This is the high end chance of snow if this thing, was to stick around, more than it should

Before it gets out it's gonna hang around all you, want too long anyway the bedford

Would get 4 if you hear anything that's stuff hitting, my house from the wind barring

Coventry 7 this would be if the hangs on round it's not, what is expected? Ok, but you can, see how

those totals rise

Ok, my confidence is moderate to

Major, coastal flooding on the eastern, massachusetts coast, high confidence of the damaging wind gusts across eastern

Massachusetts, rhode island and especially the cape islands modern confidence in the web snow accumulations across the higher terrain

North central and western massachusetts

So there you have it my people for your areas

Be safe be alert be prepared in every way

And last but not least, we have the long island area

They, have not put up another briefing

This is number three

Since yesterday at 4:30 so here's the latest one that you have they haven't put up one this morning they

Did this one yesterday afternoon and it looks pretty accurate, what's changed, high wind warning expanded from, new

York, city the remainder of long island and coastal connecticut and south

Westchester county winter storm warning, issued for orange county of winter weather advisory for

Putnam north travel county, is wind advisories it's just the wind folks all of this lower hudson valley

Parts of new jersey, as we've already been over the, main impacts here we go?

Of course it's this coastal impact, okay to the flooding, along the coast, well you should have

Inundation of two to three feet, above the ground in vulnerable areas

Where are these areas

New, york harbor south and east bay's of long island and long island sound as

Well as jamaica, bay

highest threat

South queen, south nassau

When should have happen

Today, this morning it should start and it should last. Through tomorrow

night

same goes for the wind i

Mean it's the same thing over and over again. You're going to get all of this high stuff

okay

Coastal flooding is elevated storm force winds have been moved up to extreme

Damaging winds and the long island

Coastal south connecticut and northern, new london county significant heavy snow orange county and higher

elevations that's elevated

and your freshwater flooding is

Significant as we look around right here

National weather service of new. York this is your coastal water

hazards

These are your watches and warnings you can, see where they are

Monitor, moderate coastal flooding is expected this morning, okay?

But that don't mean that's going to be the end of it once you see it it's going to continue till this and asking but

Storm gets out of the way?

Widespread moderate coastal flooding is possible during the times of the high tide right off the lou tonight tomorrow. Night along

Jamaica, bay southern and eastern bay's of long island including the atlantic ocean beach front, okay?

And what else is going on strong to damaging winds?

Look, out long island, wherever it's red

This is new london up here but, wherever it's ripped, long island you only have one little patch

And that's like 55 mile per hour winds everything else is above

55 mile-per-hour winds they're really around 60 and who knows. They, may

Gust even higher so

You know the deal power may go out things are going to go on

expected snowfall

Not too bad for long island itself maybe one or two inches when

we move on over to the northwest it increases

To, two to three to five to four inches in places if it were to hang around

Well of course it would be a lot more the heavy rain everywhere

Looks, like

Wherever you see this red, and this orange that is anywhere around four to five inches of rain

okay

So look out and there you go that's what it's looking like, do they have

Any uncertainty its magnitude of coastal flooding friday night into saturday night

Depending on the track and intensity of the low

Well look i'm just telling you it's full of power i'm going

Through, the wind i've got to go

Through, the wind started last night after the rain it was not windy

While it was raining it was so very calm

After the rain the wind started and now it's cold

Brr it's cold at. My house and it's going to stay that way probably for the rest of?

The weekend and probably some of next week it's cold, again

So those are a few signs you can look

For please keep this stuff in mud and be safe my friends

Wrapping this up this morning, we will take a quick look here as of around 7:00 a.m.

This, morning you can, see what's going on the rain. Has started on the coastlines

looks, like we've got a little ice

Stretch going on through here, also up in the main

Running down just a tad not very big just a little brief bit, we have snow up in the new

York, city area over in vermont, new, hampshire and maine

pennsylvania

We have some snow in west virginia this is some wet snow

Going on down in the washington area right north of washington i should say

Everybody, else is getting rain, here's what

These rain, bands are looking

Like this, one must have gone over me it was it was bad people so let's check the wind out at

This, time, what is the system looking like it really hadn't got to you yet

It's still hanging off my coast that's, why i'm getting beaten to death with 40 and 50 mile-per-hour winds right now

Okay, that's, why i'm having them stop so what, we will do is we will move it up a little bit to around

11, a.m.. This morning

You, see how this thing, moves it's such slow. People

so slow in

Movement 3. P.m.. This afternoon and as it's hanging off of my coast it explodes for you guys

When it gets to you

too, p.m. Tonight, we

Will go to

6:00 a.m. Tomorrow, morning it's getting, so big i can't even hardly get it all in the frame

I'll go to the lunchtime tomorrow

You can, see it you can understand what's going on now

All of you, guys are going to be feeling, stuff so if you have any pictures or anything, you'd like, to send me

About the storm my email addresses, and just click show

More scroll down to the bottom

You'll see it send it to me i want to thank patricia and long island for sending

Me some pictures patricia if you get a chance send me some more

Please everybody be careful, and be safe i love you i don't know, if i'll be able to get another video out

Today i'll try, my best as long as i have power

Do you agree with the Court with the D.C. v. Heller decision?

Do you think that gun laws in the United States should change?

If so, HOW should they change?

One, I will be headed to SXSW EDU.

The second reason is because it will be a collaboration with Khanubis Productions. Thanks for watching. We'll see you next week!

Zebra Sharks of Oman | JONATHAN BIRD'S BLUE WORLD - Duration: 12:15.

Today, Jonathan travels to Oman looking for a rare and exotic shark.

Welcome to Jonathan Bird's Blue World.

I have filmed sharks all over the world.

Whale sharks in the Galapagos, Tiger sharks in the Caribbean, White sharks in Mexico.

Big sharks, little sharks, tropical sharks, cold water sharks, bottom-dwelling sharks.

I love sharks and shark behavior, and I'm always looking for a new shark species to

film.

So, on our shark search, Cameraman Bill and I are heading all the way to the middle east,

to dive in the Sultanate of Oman.

I've come all the way to Oman to film a unique animal called the Zebra shark.

Oman is a beautiful country with deserts and mountains meeting the greenish-blue water

of the Gulf of Oman, part of the western Indian Ocean.

The water here is tropical in temperature but filled with plankton due to upwelling

nutrients.

As a result, the water is not as clear as you might expect for such a tropical place,

but absolutely filled with fish.

Cameraman Bill and I arrive at the very fashionable Civil Aviation Club just outside Oman's

capital of Muscat.

We'll be staying here for the week, right on the ocean.

And it's really convenient because the dive shop is located right on the property.

As we discover at breakfast the first morning, we are the only ones here, because it's

the middle of the summer.

Here we are in our morning breakfast at the Civil Aviation Club.

We have the entire place to ourselves.

We're the only guests.

Nobody shows up in July.

Nobody.

So, it's 8 in the morning, in Oman, in July, which is obviously the hot season.

And ah, it's over 100 degrees out and the humidity is stifling.

I head over to the dive shop and grab my gear to load the boat.

And it's really easy because the boat is on dry land!

I'm experimenting with a new camera system—ultra lightweight and travel-friendly.

It kind of looks like an octopus though.

Soon we're on our way.

It seems weird to be on the boat while they put it in the water, but they have no dock

here, so this is the best way.

I don't think the salt water is good for the tractor.

Once we are free of the boat trailer, the captain fires up the engines and we're on

our way to the dive site.

This area can be extremely windy, making the sea conditions unsafe.

So we are lucky that today it's really calm.

We make good time for the 20 kilometer run out to the Daymaniyat Islands, one of the

best places to dive in Oman.

Daymaniyat is a small group of desert islands surrounded by healthy reefs and protected

by the Oman government as a nature reserve.

I'm excited to get in the water and check out what Oman has to offer.

Well, it's time to go try to find a Zebra Shark!

The water is hot near the surface, but it quickly cools down as I sink below 30 feet.

And it's chock full of fish, like this big school of Blackspot snapper.

Due to upwelling there is plenty of cool, nutrient-rich water here as I descend.

This deeper layer is green with plankton, and thick with fish.

At times, the schools of fusilier block out the sun!

But's the reefs that really catch my attention.

While the underwater landscape is predominantly hard coral, there are some magnificent colorful

soft corals about.

They have that classic tropical Indo-Pacific look.

And yet nearby there are bright blue gorgonians that look like they were transplanted from

temperate waters.

There's a species of crown-of-thorns sea star I have never seen before.

A big fat pincushion star.

A pair of anemonefish frolicking in a magnificent anemone that has fluorescing tentacles!

Laced Moray eels seem to be living in every hole in the reef.

A nudibranch, basically a poisonous snail without a shell, makes its way along the reef.

A pair of tiny shrimp inhabit a branched anemone.

A sea turtle is munching away on a soft layer of coralimorphs that have encrusted the reef.

She doesn't seem to mind my camera one bit as I move in for a close up.

I might have stayed with this wonderfully cooperative animal for the whole dive, except

Bill calls me over to see something else.

He has discovered a pair of cuttlefish.

Cuttlefish are intelligent and curious.

They often approach divers without fear for a closer look.

But this pair seems more like they are holding their ground as we move in closer.

It really seems like they might be up to something that we just interrupted.

With my camera barely more than a foot away, the cuttlefish stay right in their spot over

the reef.

After a few minutes, they decide to trust me and go back to what they were doing.

And now I get it.

The male is standing guard while the female deposits her eggs in a safe place under some

coral.

This is a spectacular behavior I have never before witnessed.

The male keeps a close eye on me, but I guess they have decided that Bill and I aren't

a threat.

The egg-depositing continues in earnest, and I feel truly honored that this pair of cuttlefish

will allow us to get a glimpse into their lives.

We leave the cuttlefish to their efforts and move on.

As we swim out into a deeper, rubbly area, we find our quarry: a Zebra shark resting

on the bottom.

But as we sneak in closer, the shark gets spooked.

We had an amazing dive, and we found a Zebra shark, so we know they are around.

Now we just need to find a cooperative one.

The next morning we are up bright and early, before it gets too hot.

Back at the Daymaniyat Islands, we jump in the water and head over to the area we saw

the shark yesterday.

Along the way I find some things to film.

But then, I see a Zebra shark resting on the bottom and approach slowly.

As I get closer, I can see the distinct spots that look like a Leopard pattern.

In fact, in many places this is known as a Leopard shark.

If the Zebra shark looks a little familiar, it's probably because of the 5 ridges running

the length of its body, which make it look like a small Whale shark.

Indeed they are related to each other.

But instead of swimming in open water looking for plankton, the Zebra shark rests on the

bottom during the day and hunts for mollusks and crustaceans at night.

One thing I immediately notice about this shark is that it appears to have only 4 gill

slits.

Given that all sharks have between 5 and 7 gill slits--with the vast majority having

5--something doesn't seem right.

So I sneak around the to the other side and I can see the explanation.

On Zebra sharks, the last two gill slits are actually so close together that you can barely

tell they aren't a single gill slit.

When a Zebra shark swims, you can see that it has a really long, flexible tail.

Most sharks don't have a tail like this.

My guess is that the long tail allows the shark to swim backwards and wiggle out of

the holes and crevices in the reef where it hunts.

Having finally found the Zebra shark, its time head back to the boat, mission accomplished.

That Zebra shark was amazing!

What I couldn't believe is how much it was willing to tolerate me.

I mean, I got right up close with my video lights and I just settled down and I was filming

and it didn't even mind.

It was just sitting there, totally chill—that's the most cooperative shark ever!

After an exciting day filming Zebra sharks, we head back to the Civil Aviation Club and

enjoy a beautiful Omani sunset over the Indian Ocean.

And once again I realize how lucky I am to be able to explore the far reaches of the

Blue World.

7 Minute Basketball Dribbling Workout At Home! (2018) - Duration: 9:07.

Hi, I'm Jon from superhandles.com and in this video we're going to do a

seven-minute dribbling workout that you can do from home and it's unlike many

outdated training methods that are common today, because you'll be able to

do this workout right along with me on video. You won't have to take notes on

the drills and then go read the drills off a sheet of paper and try to remember

how I demonstrated the drill. You won't have to do that! Instead, just press play

and do the workout right along with me on video.

Does this sound good? Well, go ahead and grab two basketballs and get ready,

because it's coming up next!

As you go through this workout, count your successful number of repetitions.

Then set a goal for a higher rep count the

next time you do this workout. Are you ready to get started? We're going to

start this workout with two balls same. Pound the balls knee high. Ready, set, go!

Sit down low! Eyes up.

Make some noise with your dribble!

Stop! Now we're going to do 2-ball Alternate. Let's go! Position your weight on

the balls of your feet. Keep going hard!

Sit down low! Eyes up. Dribble quicker!

Stop! Now we're going to perform the "Go" drill with the hard crossover in front.

Whenever I say "Go!", cross both basketballs over in front and be sure to alternate

the direction of the ball that is crossed closest to your body. Ready?

Start dribbling knee high, let's go! Eyes up. Sit down low!

Stop!

Now we're going to do the "Go" drill with the between-the-legs dribble from the inside.

When I say "Go", drop, split, and pound your main basketball between your legs from

the inside while crossing your other ball over in front, then bring your feet back

to an even position and repeat under your other leg. Ready? Keep counting your reps.

Start dribbling! Eyes up! Pound your dribble! Go! Sit

down low. Go! Eyes up. Dribble harder! Sit down low. Pound Your Dribble.

Pound it through your legs. Stop! Now we have the "Go" drill with the V behind the

back dribble. Cross your main basketball behind your back while maneuvering both

hands low below your butt and crossing your other ball over in front.

Be sure to alternate the direction of your V behind the back dribble. Drop,

split, and pound your dribble hard behind your back.

Start dribbling. Pound it!

Eyes up.

Eyes up. Sit down. Pound it! Stop! Now we're going to do some one ball

drills. When I say "Go", push pull and cross the ball over in front. Then knee-high

dribble, and when I say "Go!", push pull crossover. Count one rep for each

successful push-pull crossover. Ready? Start dribbling the ball! Eyes Up!

Be quick! Eyes up! Back flat! Pound your dribble! Sit down!

Be quick! Sit down! Stop! Now we're going to perform

push-pull between the legs dribbles from the inside when I say "Go!". Ready? Start

dribbling the ball knee high. Sit down. Put a 90 degree bend in your legs. Eyes up!

Stop! Now we have the "Go" drill again,

but this time we're going to execute the push-pull V behind the back combination.

Ready? Start dribbling the ball.

Eyes up!

So, how many reps did you do? Go ahead and write this down along with the date, and

then set a goal for a higher rep count than you were just able to achieve. This

should help motivate you each time you do this workout and it can also empower

you to achieve skill mastery in the skills we were drilling in this workout.

This is a serious stationary workout and I hope you brought the heat like a fire pit.

S. Korea to send special envoy to N. Korea for first time in 10 years - Duration: 2:31.

When Seoul sends a special envoy to the North, it will be the first in more than a decade.

Inter-Korean ties and Washington-Pyongyang talks are the likely topics... but as of now,

it's unclear if denuclearization could be directly discussed.

For details we turn to our Oh Jung-hee.

South Korea's special envoy that could be sent to North Korea as early as next week...

will be the first of its kind in over ten years.

Exactly who the envoy will be is not yet decided... but there are a few potential candidates.

The front-runners are Cho Myong-gyon, Seoul's unification minister,... and Seo Hoon, the

chief of South Korea's National Intelligence Service.

The intelligence chief is seen to be at the center of mediating communication between

Washington and Pyongyang.

Both of them have visited Pyongyang several times, and South Korean President Moon Jae-in

views them... as figures that symbolize Seoul's willingness to improve ties with North Korea.

Seoul's envoy could seek to discuss both inter-Korean ties and possible Washington-Pyongyang talks.

But experts believe bringing up denuclearization directly could still be difficult.

"Pyongyang has been refusing to denuclearize, so talking about denuclearization will be

difficult.

But we will be able to hear what North Korea wants from the U.S. and see how to set conditions

for exploratory talks with Pyongyang."

After President Moon's phone conversation with U.S. President Trump on Sunday, Washington

stressed any sort of dialogue with North Korea has to be aimed at denuclearization -- talks

can't be just for the sake of talks.

Some think that such a difference in stances between Seoul and Washington on talking with

North Korea could pose concerns over the strength of their alliance... but others believe South

Korea could be a good communicator with Pyongyang, which has been isolated from the international

community for years.

"It has to be delivered to North Korea that things will become worse if it doesn't come

out for dialogue with a plan to denuclearize.

But that's difficult for the U.S. to do.

So for Washington, it's not too bad to have South Korea talk with Pyongyang."

And for Seoul,... steps to create a better environment for talks with North Korea cannot

be delayed or slowed down,... as South Korea-U.S. joint military drills are to take place in

April,... which could raise tensions on the peninsula.

Oh Jung-hee, Arirang News.

Why Google Chrome Ad-Blocker Is Good For Everyone? - Duration: 5:07.

When Ad Blockers first appeared, there was a worry that advertisers and internet users

might get into an arms race, where each is trying to get one step ahead of the other.

Thankfully that hasn't happened and google's recent announcement, that they will be automatically

filtering out certain types of ads through Chrome, shows that common sense is prevailing.

Today we're going to look at the roll out of the new inbuilt Google Chrome adblocker

and see how it's not just good for users, it's good for advertisers too.

Chrome is the world's default browser.

It's used on over 60% of desktops, 58% of tablets and just over 50% of mobile.

So, Chrome represent the typical internet experience.

Earlier this month, Google began a new system for its Chrome browser, that would filter

out so-called "annoying" ads.

This isn't about content, it's about the way the ads interrupt your online experience.

Mostly, this is videos that autoplay with sound and pop-ups that open fullscreen.

They are also targeting pages where ads make up over 30% of the content.

The Coalition for Better Ads was announced back in late 2016, with members including

tech giants like Google, Microsoft and Facebook.

Then there's the advertising groups like the World Federation of Advertisers, media

companies such as The Washington Post and Thompson Reuters, and some big product brands

like Unilever and Proctor & Gamble.

If too many terrible ads existed, then every user would be forced to use ad block software.

This would mean the brands and advertisers would have lost the battle, all because of

some bad actors.

They knew they needed to act, to protect themselves but also to protect users too.

The thing we users don't like to admit, is that we need advertising.

In fact, the whole ecosystem of the internet doesn't work without it.

I'm not saying it couldn't, but the system we have now would have to completely change.

You'd need to pay for every single service; from Google search to Facebook to Snapchat.

You might not do it as a monthly fee but it would be some other cost like in your phone

bill or added to the cost of a cellphone or laptop since they'd come pre-installed.

It's not just the internet either, the basic idea of advertising is vital to everyone in

the modern world.

Even if we forget about how TV and movies are supported by ads, advertising is how you

learn about what options are available to you and how there are solutions out there

to problems that you have.

Otherwise you're just relying on what your friends and family recommend.

Of course some ads are annoying or go to far, but many of the things you own, that you like,

are because of advertising; your favourite sneakers, shampoo, soft drink.

So, this new Chrome update is limiting the bad actors in the advertising world.

And let's be honest, most of the annoying ad formats aren't used by big brands, it's

pop ups for suspicious supplements or useless e-books, that type of thing.

By getting rid of them, users get a better experience but they get more ads that are

useful to them.

Advertiser waste money if they spam everyone but the internet allows you to be incredibly

well targeted, using demographics, interests, location, search data.

So, ad filtering and ad blocking are not anti-advertising, they are helping the good advertisers spend

their money where it will actually count.

However, one big concern is that Google are the gatekeepers.

They are enforcing these rules and no one is telling them what ads they can and can't

have as part of their search system.

We are placing a lot of trust in one company to enforce the spirit of the Coalition For

Better Ads, and it's still not clear how they are going to handle the appeals process

when sites think they have been unfairly filtered.

This will all seem familiar to people who've been following Google's attempts to deal

with advertising on Youtube over the last few months.

You're never going to have a completely fair systems so some small players are going

to be badly affected by this, and they may never get an answer back about why they have been penalised.

R-Colored Vowel / ɛr/ as in "chair" – American English Pronunciation - Duration: 10:41.

Click Like if you liked this video.

BTW, did we say that we like your comments?

A few months ago we got a comment from Lan:

"Thank you for great videos.

Do you want your videos to have Vietnamese subtitles?

I can do that."

Guess what?

We now have subtitles in Vietnamese for the most of our videos.

Thank you, Lan!

Marine Corps Horse Training - Duration: 0:55.

People think it's a lost skill, that, "Hey, we don't pack animals anymore,"

and it is still relevant.

Especially when we deal with special operations units that come out and they tell us real world stories

of them having very little experience trying to pack a mule or pack a horse or get on a horse

because it's their only means of actually infilling into an area.

You see that their is still a need for it.

That it is still a necessary skill set that's not being taught

and I think that's what makes us one, unique, and still relevant.

Trucks can only go so far, vehicles, humvees,

but your objective may be another two or three days march from the end of that road.

We can maneuver around the battlespace a lot faster and a lot more efficiently,

and then it saves our operators, so when they get to the fight they're still able to fight

because they haven't expended any of their own energy.

Does Your Car Really Need a Tune Up? Myth Busted - Duration: 2:50.

rev up your engines, today I'm going to talk about the myth of

tuning up a modern car, now when I was a mechanic in the 60s as a kid, tuneups

really meant something, you did pay to get your car tuned up, back then cars

weren't fuel-injected, they had mechanical carburetors in them, they get dirty and

gunked-up and you had to clean them with carburetor spray cleaner a lot and they

various adjustments, you had to adjust the electric choke, you had to adjust the

idle speed, and you had to turn the screw to adjust the air ratio, but modern cars

they have sealed fuel injection systems instead of carburetors

you can't even set the idle speed, even that is done by computer, and back then

your ignition system worked with the distributor, they had these little points

inside, they mechanically open and close, and open and close, and open and close

every time they fire a spark to a spark plug and being mechanical, they just wear

out you'd have to replace them, sometimes as much as every fifteen thousand miles

and when you were done, you'd have to hook up a time and gun and then time the

ignition to make sure it was correct, but modern cars, they don't use distributors

they use coil on plug ignition systems, they don't even have spark plug wire

sets, there's nothing for you to do as long as the system is working, now if you

have a gasoline engine, of course they still have spark plugs, but they're so

well made these days, in this case they're iridium plugs, have a real fine

wire in there that's made out of iridium, that makes them last a really long time, I've

seen some of these things with two hundred thousand miles on them, they've

never been changed and they're still running fine, a lot of the old spark

plugs had copper electrodes, copper is a lot softer and the electrical resistance

and all the chemicals inside as the gas explodes, would wear them out pretty fast

but these iriduim ones, they can last a really long time, so the idea of a

tune-up in a modern car is really a misnomer, there's no such thing as tuning

up a car like there was when I was a young mechanic, of course you want to

maintain your car, check the air filter every once in a while to see if it's

dirty, change the engine oil and filter a lot

check the fan belt for cracks and also check all the radiator

hoses for cracks as the car gets older, but as for tuning up an engine, that just

doesn't exist anymore, so the next time somebody tells you your car needs a

tune-up, ask them what they're going to do while they're tuning it up and what

you're actually paying for, more quick fixes on the Scotty Kilmer channel, so if

you never want to miss another one of my new car repair videos remember to ring

that Bell!

BANGKOK 7-11 SNACK FOOD TASTE TEST - Strange Snacks in THAILAND 2018 - Duration: 18:29.

Hey, what's up everyone? It's Cory here. I am in my Airbnb. Rright next door is a 7-11 and so I went there

right after I checked into this Airbnb.

And I just bought a bunch of like weird things that I've never seen before.

And I thought maybe you guys would be interested in seeing what kind of strange things are being sold.

So this is a Bangkok 7-eleven snack food taste test.

Alright one of the first things

I want to try is this thing called Shots and that's pretty much the only English on it.

It looks like sour cream and onion, but I'm not sure what the puffs are. Let's go ahead and check it out.

There's a little picture on the back that says Shots, and it looks like the character is doing like this.

So I guess this is meant to be just like a quick like grab-and-go snack.

Yeah, it smells like sour cream and onion and

it is like a little corn puff. Yeah, it looks like a Cheeto almost. Let's go ahead and try these.

It's just like cheese puffs, I don't even really taste the sour cream and onion.

It literally tastes like those round cheese puffs back in the States.

Let's see how well it handles with this like shot motion that it's suggesting on the back

Yeah, it works alright. And the next thing is, I don't know what this says in Thai,

but in the English it says "Extreme barbecue flavor."

Yeah, so same kind of similar packaging as that other one. Let's go ahead and open it up.

Oh my god, these things are so tiny.

It reminds me of like little macaroni, they're these little rings.

They taste like normal potato chips, I know this sounds really like boring, but it does taste just like a normal

like Frito-Lay potato chip, they're just in like these little mini bite-sized rings.

And this is probably the first time I'm eating junk food this year. I normally don't eat this kind of stuff.

Oh, yeah, taste the preservatives...Mmmm and all those chemicals.

There's a reason I don't eat this stuff.

But I'm just doing this for science, for YouTube, and for you guys. (Please Subscribe!^^)

Alright this next thing here is called a corn filled pie.

And it looks like an apple pie from McDonald's or something.

But it says corn filled, there were other flavors, there were like some kind of sweet varieties like strawberry and pineapple.

But corn filled pie kind of caught my attention and on the back it does say

"36% of this is creamy corn filling."

And it doesn't say I need to nuke this or anything so you can pretty much eat this at room temperature.

Let's take a look at this guy.

That is so weird, there's actually pieces of corn in there with the like buttery cream. It's okay.

I think I probably would prefer the pineapple or the strawberry one.

But now this makes me want to go and get corn soup. That snack is actually a little bit filling.

And it's a little bit salty, like subtly salty, enough that I'm actually kind of thirsty.

So I'm gonna go ahead and open up one of these two mushroom drinks.

Let's go with the black jelly mushroom beverage. It's a little bit heavy because I believe the bottle is made of glass.

Yeah, we can see it in there with this gold lid. I'm gonna shake this sucker up.

I like black jelly, they sell black jelly all over Asia. I grew up with it in Japan. They sell it in Korea.

They're huge on it in Vietnam.

So I'm just gonna remove the label because the glass is clear that way you guys can see what the inside looks like and

let me use my flashlight, so you can see the actual

color in detail

Awwww. It didn't make a pop sound, I like that pop sound.

Smells kind of sweet, like very subtly sweet, okay, let's try this out up close.

Did you see that that slimey-ness?

All right since I got my thirst fixed,

there is something here that I saw that was interesting and it's watermelon seeds.

Now, I know you can eat the seeds of like pretty much anything like pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds, but I've never actually seen

seen watermelon seeds.

I know there's probably a lot of people out there who are gonna be like what, how have you not seen watermelon seeds?

I just haven't.

So to me this is new and I'm gonna try it out.

Smells like pumpkin seeds, actually. You know, you can see it's actually pretty big.

Hmm it's a bit tougher than pumpkin seeds, but not bad.

These are good as like Anju, like this would go well with beer or like soju or something.

Hmm, I like it.

No cholesterol!

Okay, and the next thing that I really am looking forward to trying is this super sour tamarind.

And it's 93% tamarind, 3% sugar, 3%, Iodized salt, and1% chilli.

And so I'm assuming this is gonna be like kind of spicy, but also really sour. I don't know. Let's crack the seal.

Take this off.

You can you see that it's covered in salt and

sugar, and it smells really good like that is awesome. I love dried fruit, like dried mangoes.

This smells like dried mangoes.

Let's try it.

Whoa whoa

It's good, but it's.... it's sour and a little bit spicy.

There's like a spice that kicks in right away, and then it immediately goes to sweet and like slightly sour.

Well, it's really good, like this is actually very

addicting. I feel like I'm eating like candied ginger, it almost has that same

spice level as ginger. All right this next thing is very interesting. It caught my eye.

It says "Pandan custard topping sliced bread."

What is Pandan???

Okay, so I'm on Wikipedia cause I had to find out what is pandan. It says it's a tropical plant and

it's widely used in South Asia and Southeast Asian cooking as a flavoring. So apparently the pandan is medicinal.

It's also good as an air freshener, the leaves can be dried and used to weave baskets.

It's a very like versatile plant. Bbut let's open this up and try it out. I think this is gonna be a little bit messy.

Trying to open this and not get it on my fingers.

So it had this plastic covering that like kept the custard from smearing against the inside of the plastic. Check this out guys.

It looks like a some kind of like a green slime butter spread, but it actually smells really good.

Mmmmmm

It almost reminds me of like just normal custard.

Sounds so lame. It reminds me of some kind of like a melon slash custard.

Interesting.

Okay, I'm thirsty again because of the breading and stuff.

Let's try out this.

Fruit drink or nut drink? I don't know what this is. It's called Bael fruit drink.

I've never seen this fruit before. Shake it up real good.

Little juice box. Alright let's go.

Whoa

Hmm

Wow, that's really interesting, at first it tasted just like water, like there was no flavor and then suddenly there was this like intense

sweetness. It kind of reminds me of like coconut water, but not a coconut flavor. It's more of like a cinnamon flavor.

But subtle, subtle cinnamon. Okay next we got this

banana cream chocolate cake sandwich, it just looked so weird that I had to get it.

All right, comes in a little like tray.

And it looks like a brownie, it literally looks like a brownie with the crusts cut off.

You can see here's the sandwich itself. Oh my god....

It's so weird that the texture is so smooth up here. It's not like bread. What is that?

That's so weird. Let's take a look at the filling.

Oh yeah, that looks gross.

It looks like some goop.

Goop spread in there as the bread is breaking apart. Oh, no! All right. Let's eat this before it falls apart in my hand.

I feel like I'm eating sponge cake with a banana custard filling.

It's not like a brownie, not bad. It's not bad.

With the banana cream, it like kind of helps moisturize the dryness of the sponge cake texture.

That's cool. Would I ever do it again?

There's probably better food out there.

Let's dip into this other sandwich over here. This is the shredded pork with salad cream sandwich.

You can see the crust cut off, but you can see the inside. It's got like that pork floss very fine,

finely grained pork floss in there, so that's kind of cool.

I just smelled bread. I don't smell the pork floss, and I definitely don't smell that like salad cream or whatever.

Let's try this out. Where do I bite from?

Ugghhh

No

That salad cream is actually like sweet and salty together.

And then the pork floss is salty by itself, so it's like kind of salty, but with like a hint of sweetness.

Yeah, that's not good. I can't. No. And the bread is super dry like it feels like I'm eating stale bread.

This is wo bites, that's about all I can stomach right now. So next to the register

there was these little containers selling chocolate dipping sauce so I asked the cashier, like is this for dipping fruit or

candy? Like how do you do it, and she started laughing and she said no.

You gotta dip here sandwiches in it, and she pointed to all these different sandwich breads that I just tried.

She said you gotta dip it in here, so that's what she said so I'm gonna try it.

Whoa

It's like chocolate pudding in here. It's super thick and really dark .

So out of curiousity, I'm gonna try it with that pork floss sandwich that was pretty gross, but let's try it with the chocolate dipping sauce.

I mean, that's what she said to do, the cashier told me that this is what it's for so I believe her.

OH GOD, that's a terrible combination!

No no no no, this is so fudgy and chocolatey I'm gonna try it with the chocolate banana sandwich.

Make sure I get a good amount on there, you see that?

Not bad, actually I couldn't even taste the dipping sauce, that bread really overpowers everything.

that pork floss sandwich, gross! So gross. I gotta wash it down with a different drink.

So this is called honey gak and gak is a very common fruit in Southeast Asia.

Let's shake it up and try it out, ooh

Very citrusy

Mmm. I like this way better than the Bael fruit one. I mean it tastes like passion fruit or guava.

Yeah, that's really good.

Alright, so I got a mess of things here with wrappers and what not, but we've got three chips to still try.

So these two are by Lay, and this one is a ham and cheese sandwich flavored chip pack.

And this is a Miengkam Krobos flavor, and I'm going to assume that is a Thai dish.

It has a picture of what like looks like fish or shrimp or something, and some lots of chilies and lime and ginger.

Yeah, so I'm not really sure what the food is supposed to be, but let's go ahead and try this one first.

It just looks like a normal chip, right?

Let's try it out.

Got the lime. Oh my god, as I'm exhaling I'm getting more than just a lime. I'm getting like

some kind of a Southeast Asian dish.

Obviously Thai, but I don't know what it is like

I really don't know what what Miengkam Krobos is but I like to exhale, the exhale factor like gives out an extra

flavor boost.

Yeah, there, as I exhaled. Mmmm. I gotta stop eating these chips. This is the most amount of junk food

I've had in like five years. All right. Let's try the ham cheese sandwich chips. I'm really curious what this is gonna be like.

Whoa that smells legitly like a ham and cheese sandwich!

Chip looks normal like a standard chip right? The ham smell smells like a honey cured ham or something. mm-hmm

Although the flavor is not there, it smells like it.

Yeah, but then the whole ruffled textured like throws it off, and then it just doesn't even taste like a ham and cheese sandwich.

All right the last chips. I have over here. That's by this other company.

I have no idea what that says in Thai, but it says Waffle with like hashtag or sharp, waffle sharp or waffle hashtag.

I don't know, but there's no English on this other than the company and it says Tasto.

Oh, so I have no hint of like what to expect other than it says waffle.

And then there's pictures of red chillies, and there's a lot of chili flakes on this.

I'm cuurious just how spicy this is.

Oh man, that's like a very pungent like pepper smell.

Have you ever like walked up to a pile of crushed red pepper

and kind of like caught a wiff and it really burns your nostrils? I get that vaguely from this.

Can you see the red pepper flakes on there?

Yeah, I don't know, this looks a little bit dangerous. Let's try it out.

Okay, I'm getting a little bit of the spice from the pepper.

Not bad, like I like the spice on it

but I've been eating way too many chip kind of products or bread, so to me right now,

this is kind of like grossing me out.

Just cuz I don't eat this kind of stuff. But if you like spicy things and you like chips

I think this is a good match.

Yeah, so I picked up kind of like a doshirak

bento kind of a thing here, and it is stir fried basil chicken and fried egg with rice.

And I thought it was kind of interesting because of the egg like it's just like a perfect circle.

Like where did this egg come from and how did they make it like that? See all the stuff here is kind of shifting to

the bottom because I have it tilted.

But yeah, let's go ahead and nuke this a little bit.

Alright guys, it is ready.

Mmmmmmm

The spicy chicken, look at all those red peppers on there.

Mm-hmm It's really good for 7-11,

probably one of the best like bento style meals I've ever had from a convenience store.

Now to wash it down, I'm gonna try out this snow mushroom beverage.

Just take off all that wrapping so that way you guys can see the actual jelly.

Whoa it's all at the bottom. I haven't shaken this up yet really.

And it doesn't do the pop, I want like the Snapple lid, like POP, like make a nice pop sound.

Doesn't smell any different from the other one ,the black jelly.

I can't tell the difference, I mean they're both good, but if I was blindfolded

I couldn't tell the difference between the two.

Last but not least. It says Boran. Let's go ahead and open this.

And there is the red bean ice cream. Now red bean is awesome.

You know it's also known as Anko, in Korea it's known as Pat. I grew up eating this kind of stuff in Japan.

Whoa, really hard. So I thought it was like red bean, and there was like pieces of chocolate.

But it's actually red bean with pieces of the red bean itself, so you know how when you eat like a handful of like

chocolate chips, and you just eat them? It has kind of the same like texture. You can even see on the inside there,

the bean texture.

Hmm, that's a good way to end off this video. Don't you think?
