There is another new electric car being announced the Audi e-tron and this week

We're gonna go into all the details that you may have missed about the car what it includes and what's out there on it

I'm Nicolas Raimo

the time is right for electric to go Audi. There's a saying that

so the Audi e-tron

Has Audi's design language built in the car pretty much everywhere even in the light system

They have the what they call the four

But in the design language of the lights or down side the panel's they've even put it into the wheel design

There's four straight lines trying to indicate the four audi rings joint rings of Audi. The car is going to be

400 brake horsepower vehicle equivalent

to a normal horsepower car

The other leading figure on it is the 0-60 which isn't that impressive. It's

5.5 sec 0 to 60 but that's when you turn on the special Audi mode the boost mode

They're calling it in non boost mode. It's much slower now comparing that to

Tesla the Model X for example

Which is 4.9 0-60 on the 75 d it makes the Audi

Not look like that

Which is a bit disappointing it now whether this is just going to be a standard base model

and we're eventually going to see an Audi s line or s line RS version of the e-tron with a

much more up rated horsepower

It is beggars believe we don't know if we're going to see that yet, but to me audi should be making a car

which is quicker than five seconds when

they're basically later to the market than Tesla and Audi is considered a premium brand for sport and driving quick and

5.5 doesn't seem a lot. So whether they've done something where the handling is, you know just basically wipes Tesla to the floor

We don't know yet until we see road tests and people have driven it but I think five point five just isn't fast enough

For a premium brand electric car these days now normally when you see a concept car

they don't have any wing mirrors and this is just to basically make the lines look better and more smooth and

Really make the car look fantastic on a stand the Audi e-tron

Doesn't have any mirrors, it has cameras instead

It has these little sticking out stubby cameras instead of mirrors and inside the car

There is a little LCD screen that will show the vision of those mirrors and where they are now

depending on what driving mode you're in it will change the angle of the lens and

Also that will be dependent on what speed you doing

So when you're doing faster speed it will change from narrow and wide angle

And also when you're doing slower speeds and reversing I presume it will also change the direction of where the mirror is

well camera is pointing so you get a better reversing angle and it'll also probably incorporate the rear reversing camera for when you're

Reversing is well into the into the side cameras. Now. What is interesting is they have actually chosen to have an actual physical

Sticky-out mirror unlike the Tesla Roadster design where it's built in lower down into an indicator

Module so it's hidden and not seen it seemed really silly that if you're gonna put cameras on it with sticky out parts

You might as well just left the mirrors exactly how they were

It seems ridiculous to actually

Go to all the trouble of putting the camera there and they're not hiding it into the structure of the bodywork and actually having something

stick out

now the

CCTV cameras mirrors will not be available in certain parts of the world. WLTP range for this car is

400 kilometers which is

248 miles wL P is the new NEDC. It's supposed to give more realistic world figures. However

WLTP is still inaccurate and it's not the exact mileage that you'll get out of it

expect probably

210 200 miles range out of this car. It supposed to be got some

Amazing regen, which is built through the software

Now the software is designed to train you as a new electric car driver

Now most people who will buy the e-tron

Will be at Audi buyers who only want to buy audi's and they don't want to buy

Tesla's and they don't want to buy any of the other brands are available at the moment

They are Audi purest and want an Audi purist car

so the dash will give them tips on lifting up before Hills how to

use the regen effectively and this software training of the driver and also using the

intense

radar system at the front will give better regen quality and give you more regen back into the car and that's why they're able to

Get such high figures on the WLTP for what is a relatively smaller battery than some of our competitors

but supposedly the regen on this is absolutely

amazing

Now a couple of people might comment that even that's WLTP range doesn't seem a lot

However, Audi is part of the ionity charging Network. Now if you don't know much about Ionity

I am sees a new charging network that's gonna be pretty much self everywhere and they're all really have powerful kilowatt charges

Really high powerful kilowatt challenges and the idea of these new charges is they're going to self authenticate through using a blockchain

Sequence so just like the Tesla systems where you plug them in and the charge that's automatically that's the idea for the Audi

Volkswagen VAG group system for charging they're going to use the ionity network, which they're all pumping money into and

that gives them a bit of an edge because this car this etron has a

150 kilowatt charging speed and there's something which they've also done with the charging socket

Which I think's a little bit more interesting than other car makers the Renault Zoe has a front charge port right here

Is a front charge port nice and easy or is easily accessible depending on which what is long as you park your car

Forward into your charge place. You can reach you from left to right all the time. No problem

Audi on the e-tron have TWO charge points either side of the car left and right side of the car

One side will be the dedicated

CCS AC

150 kilowatt charging speed the other one will be an AC only 11 kilowatt charging speed which

Does have some versatility if you parked your car in the garage and your charge ports on the other side of the car?

And it's a bit of a pain to drag the cable all the way around the car

You've got the option of using either side for AC

But with CCS, you've only got one side

So obviously we've a rapid the cables tend to be a bit longer and you can park a better place book for home charging

Two ports on either side of a car is a great idea

But you could have done what Renault did and just put it in the front of the nose

They do have obviously some advantages over Tesla the fact that it's on both sides

So stretching the cable makes it easier, but you could have designed it into a more clever system like this and obviously the Nissan Leaf

Which have it built in directly to the front, so it's always in a centered position

Now one thing someone's not mentioned is the interactive part of Audi's new system. It's Amazon

Alexa yes, they have built

Alexa into the car with Amazon. They've also got some other partnerships with Amazon including in charging the actual charge points

But the car will essentially you'll be able to go

Alexa turn up. The car's heating Alexa do this

You'll also be able to control your smart home if you have Alexa smart home devices at home

The Future of Holograms - Behind the News - Duration: 3:11.

This is our most desperate hour. Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Their village happens to be resting on

the richest unobtanium deposit...

MATT: If I've learned anything from Hollywood,

it's that holograms are really cool -

and I want one.

Unfortunately, they've never quite made the transition

from the silver screen to actually existing in real life.

It turns out making a workable hologram

is incredibly difficult,

but people are definitely trying,

and recently these guys got their hands on something

that's pretty close.

I'm Sahib. I'm Kaartic.

And we use this volumetric display to basically model this car

into a more digital and interactive way.

OK. So it's not really a hologram.

That's why they call it a volumetric display.

But it's an interesting step in that direction.

And this school decided to use it as part of their presentation

for the F1 in Schools competition,

which is all about designing and racing your own mini F1 car.

It's probably the closest thing we have to a hologram

without the use of lasers or any mirrors.

It's basically a screen going up and down 30 times a second,

creating, you know, a visual aspect of a 3-D display.

It produces a lot of images per second

and it's so quick that we can't recognise it,

and that's why it looks like

as if it's a 3-D moving picture or animation.

And that's what helps us to really detail the components of our car

and really express what our car is made out of.

Now they're passing on some of what they've learned

to one of their schools newer teams.

ALL: We are Lickety Split.

They're currently looking at different ways

of using the technology,

to explore and demonstrate their car.

In fact, do you want me to show you how it works?

And they say there are heaps of possibilities.

Well, it's actually got a lot of different functions.

You can map out, you can use graphs,

you can do maths in it if you really want to.

You can design anything and you can display anything

of whatever your design is on this machine,

so it really doesn't have any limitations to that.

For biology, you can really get down into the nits and grits

of how the human body works.

You can... This display's capable of producing images so clear

and to such good detail that you can display, you know,

the whole human skeletal system in a very precise manner.

It is something that's amazing and innovative and creative and new.

You can even see your own reflections on this.

So while they've got a lot of work to do on their car

and deciding the best way they can show it off,

they're pretty confident this technology will help them go far.

They want new things, innovative things,

things they haven't seen before.

So that's what we're trying to push for

to discover and create and do with our team.

Maryland shooter was arguing with coworker moments before rampage - Duration: 13:29.

The transgender woman who went on a shooting spree at a Rite Aid distribution center in Maryland had been diagnosed with a mental illness in 2016 and used a legally purchased gun in the deadly rampage

Snochia Moseley, 26, shot dead three people and then herself at the Enterprise Business Park in Aberdeen shortly after 9am Thursday

 Harford County Sheriff Jeffrey Gahler revealed on Friday that Moseley had been diagnosed with a mental illness in 2016

 He said Moseley had become increasingly agitated in recent weeks, and relatives had been concerned for her well-being

 Moseley used a handgun that she legally purchased in March to fire a total of 13 rounds on Thursday morning, and died after shooting herself twice in the head

She killed three people in the attack, including Sunday Aguda, a 45-year-old male from Baltimore County; Brindra Giri, a 41-year-old female from Baltimore County; and Hayleen Reyes, a 41-year-old female from Baltimore City

Those injured in the rampage were Hassan Mitchell, a 19-year-old male from Harford County; Wilfredo Villegas, a 45-year-old male from Montgomery County; and Acharya Purna, a 45-year-old female from New York

They are all expected to recover. Witnesses say Moseley was seen arguing with another employee in the moments before she 'went off' and opened fire

As people lined up to come in the building, Gahler said Mosely cut in line and words were exchanged, but it was a 'little incident

'Less than an hour after she arrived, Moseley left the building for unknown reasons at 7

21am and returned home to get a handgun, pepper spray and handcuffs. She arrived back at the parking lot around 8

35am and entered the front door around 8.52am.Gahler said Mosely pulled a hooded shirt over her head and began shooting, striking and killing her victim, Aguda, outside the building

 Inside, where there were about 65 people, she fatally shot Giri and Reyes and also shot the three victims who survived

Two of the victims died at the scene and one was taken to hospital where they were pronounced dead later in the day

' Gahler said investigators are still working to identify the motive for the 'senseless crime'

 'We're still searching for answers as to what the possible motive was . It's a tragic situation with loss of life, and our prayers go out to the victims and the families, and we're impressed with the job law enforcement did,' he said

Mike Carre, who works at a business next door to the Rite Aid warehouse, said he called 911 after a wounded man came hobbling in, bleeding from his leg

 Carre said the victim told him the shooter 'just came in in a bad mood this morning

He said she's usually nice. But today, I guess it wasn't her day. She just came in to pick a fight with someone

''She pulled out a gun and she just started shooting at her co-workers.'Moseley had multiple outstanding tickets for registration violations and a lack of insurance, and just last week, the courts were asked for permission to take the outstanding fines to trial

 But tickets were not her only problems. A high school friend of Moseley's, Toni Coley, told the Baltimore Sun the suspected shooter often felt alienated, but she 'wasn't a monster, wasn't an angry person'

'I just believe this was emotional distress. If she did this, it was her last straw,' she said

 Coley said had come out to her family as transgender in December 2016 and wanted to begin hormone therapy

 At present, it is not known if she did commence hormone therapy, or if Moseley, known to friends as 'Sno', used male or female pronouns

   Coley and Moseley were intending to create a documentary on Moseley's life before she died, based off a manuscript the Rite Aid worker had written

 Other friends paid tribute to her on social media, claiming she had been consumed by mental illness and had reached out for help multiple times before shooting at her colleagues

One friend, who asked to remain anonymous, told the Sun he was at first appalled to hear about the shooting, but immediately felt heartbroken when he discovered who was behind it
