Hi guys!

I'm here in Gangnam and today I'm going to do a little shopping guide, show you some

various things you can pick up in Gangnam, whether you want to buy some holiday gifts

for your family, you want to buy yourself some souvenirs.

I'm going to try to mix it up, I know that last time I only showed you ice cream and

thrifting, so let's see what else we can find - let's go!

So our first stop is the subway station which I'm sure you guys know about.

Shopping in the Gangnam subway station is really popular, they prefer if you bring CASH

and they have pretty much anything you can imagine, they have shoes, they have accessories,

they have clothes, they have food, anything you want.

My ears are very sensitive to the cold, so I like to wear beanies over them, but I also

like to wear my hair up in the winter, so I bought these giant ear muffs, and they're

literally giant and just ridiculous, so I saw these really subtle and cute ear muffs

that are really trendy right now.

I am going to search for a pair, so let's go!

I'm going to be really sad if that's the best price because I don't want to walk all the

way back here.

So now we are outside and of course we have to stop at Vin Prime, this is a thrift store,

if you follow me you know this place by now, its one of my favorite places, its a chain.

And you will be able to find a lot of different sizes and styles, and its just a cool unique

piece, I always love thrifting whenever I visit a new country.

There's a Vin Prime in the subway station which I just took you to and I got the perfect

scarf it matches my hair so well, I'm super stoked about it.

It was 20% off which is great.

Now onto our next destination!

There are so many trendy indie Korean stores going on right now, especially in Gangnam,

a new store just opened called Very Very which I'll take you to.

Most of their clothes are in free size which means they're either going to be really really

big, or really small but you can kind of hope that you can find something in your size there.

And they have really cute accessories, so let's go!

My all time favorite store to buy gifts at no matter who I'm buying for, is Art Box.

They have literally everything stationary, cute toys, beauty items, honestly everything

you can imagine, right now they're going crazy because its Christmas, but definitely stop

in Art Box here's a little preview of what you can find there.

Next, I'm not going to take you to all of them, because Gangnam has any face store,

skin care store, that you can imagine, there's innisfree, aritaum, innisfree, vt cosmetics,

the face shop, literally everything is here.

But there is also, right across from the CGV, a 3 story Olive Young.

So you can get literally everything all in the same place, usually for a big sale, so

definitely go check out the 3 story Olive Young.

So if any of you guys are coming here to Korea because you want to study Korean, or you have

friends that want to study Korean, getting them a really cute Korean book I think is

such a fun gift or just for yourself ;) So our next stop is going to be the books store!

so let's go~ So now that we've been shopping til we've dropped for a while now, I say we

stop at a cafe that just opened, I've been to another location before, I brought you

guys to it once, and it just opened right now in Shinonhyeon, right across the street

from where we're standing, so let's go get some tea.

Rest our legs, rest our wallets, and enjoy the night :)

gotten away from straight six-cylinder engines, they don't have the torque and

horsepower that a v6 has, Ford is really going for v6, a lot of their big trucks now

they're throwing v6 with GDI gasoline and twin turbos on them to get

horsepower, so I doubt if they'll bring back the straight six and yeah they were

very dependable engines, they didn't have the horsepower but they could run a

really really really long time, if you really think about it most companies

don't want to make things that last a really really long time cuz they want to

sell you a new one every four or five years you know, that's our society people

want to make money, Jacob says Scotty what is the best hatchback made in the

last ten years, yeah I got one sitting in a driveway you can't beat it, it's a Toyota

Matrix 2007 it was made in Cambridge Ontario and the funny thing is, they

stopped making them a few years ago but now I

notice now they're selling Toyota Corolla hatchbacks, well it's the matrix

it's the same car you can see by looking at it, they just I didn't want to call it

matrix on it's own so now they're calling it

Toyota Corolla hatchback because the matrix was

all based on the Corolla everything anyway, same engine, same brakes, same

transmission and you can't beat them they were the best ones that were made

and there's no arguing that, GDL 30 says hey Scotty should I use a

thicker oils as my car increases in mileage thank you, okay it used to be true

for all cars, when I was a kid as cars got old, burnt a little oil, we put a little

heavier oil, but those were all pushrod cast-iron engines, now with variable

valve timing and some engines that use a 0w ten oil, you never want to put a

heavier weight oil in them, because they were designed for the lighter weight oil

and some of them do burn a little oil as they age but you basically live with it,

you don't want to put a heavier weight oil in it,

because they were designed for that and they may not run right and it can even

wear them out faster, so with most modern cars you don't want to mess with the

viscosity, you want to stick with what you've been using all those years, what the

manual says, Alex says Scotty I have the opportunity to buy

really cheap v6 front wheel drive 87 Oldsmobile 98 Regency, love the interior

but don't know about the transmission and motor, how difficult is it to rebuild

a front-wheel drive transmission, okay that's an 87, that's one of the worst

every once in a while I hear a grinding noise when I break my headlights lower

at the same time, do I have to replace my wheel bearing, well the headlights

shouldn't have anything to do with that the grinding could definitely be the

or brake shoes anywhere, could easily be a wheel bearing check that out, when you

jack it up and spin the wheels you hear any kind of rattling or have any or a

little play on it, but making your headlights lower at the same time that's

more often either your alternator is getting weak or you got a ground wire

problem, GHs are known for having ground wire problems and often ground wire

problem the headlights will get dim but just go to a place like autozone, they'll

check your battery and alternator free and a lot of times that's your alternator

just starting to wear out, Vinny Adam says my family cx-7 has a blown head

gasket I'm wondering if it's worth fixing, those Mazdas they have a lot of

problems, if it's high mileage and it's old, I'd just get rid of it, you think it

has a blown head gasket it could be a lot worse, and my experience with those

CX-7 is, they got that variable valve timing with the chain on it, that system

often breaks down, they use a motorcraft on them, Mazda and ford have of some kind

of relationship going on and

they had a lot of problems with those in them too, you never really know if the

only thing you have is a blown head gasket when you got a problem with the

engine, and you only find out when you tear the engine apart and start looking

at stuff, if it's high mileage, I wouldn't even fix, I'd just junk the car and

get rid of it, because once you take that engine apart if it's high mileage it's

probably gonna need a full rebuild with Pistons, bearings, and it's just not worth

it on those things, in that case if you could find a used engine in a junkyard

that had low mileage on it go ahead a lot of guys do that, but when it comes to

actually fixing those complicated engines, hardly anybody does that anymore,

so if you never want to miss another one of my new car repair videos, remember to

Things You Didn't Know Your Xbox One Could Do - Duration: 7:35.

We gamers would be nothing without our favorite consoles.

But, while many proud Xbox One owners probably think they know their machines inside and

out, they still might be unaware of some of its coolest bells and whistles.

Get ready to question everything you thought you knew about Microsoft's popular gaming

behemoth — because you ain't seen nothin' yet.

Xbox One allows you to connect up to eight wireless controllers to your console at once

for mega-multiplayer action—but did you know that you can also combine the inputs

from two controllers to act like one?

With Copilot mode, you can use two Xbox One controllers linked together to control your

console or play a game.

Copilot offers a leap forward in progress for gamers with disabilities.

Combining Copilot mode with controller remapping adds even more accessibility to your gameplay,

as paired Copilot controllers can be remapped iindividually.

Additionally, Copilot is a great way for parents to help their kids play a single-player game

by sharing the controls without the need to hand off a controller.

To get started using Copilot, simply activate it in the Controller section of the Ease of

Access settings.

Don't have a controller?

No problem!

Your Xbox One can be controlled directly from a tablet or smartphone using Microsoft's SmartGlass

integration.

Want to search for a show on your Xbox, or visit a website in your console's internet

browser?

No longer do you have to painstakingly type out each letter with the thumbsticks and buttons

on your controller.

Now you can just use the Xbox mobile app to connect to your console and use your device

as a controller.

You can browse your Xbox One's apps and games, see what your Xbox Live friends are up to,

and much more.

Start by downloading the correct Xbox app for your mobile device's operating system,

then sync your smartphone and your Xbox — just make sure they're both on the same wifi network!

And, voila.

Who needs a clunky controller when you've got a top-notch touchpad in the palm of your

hand?

With the rollout of backwards compatibility for an ever-growing library of Original Xbox

and Xbox 360 games, many Xbox One owners are revisiting their old favorites.

But did you know that you can load those old save points that you spent hours getting to?

While it's always fun rediscovering a game by starting over from scratch, you don't have

to lose all of your progress just because you've upgraded to a new console.

You can actually transfer and sync those save files from your 360 to your Xbox One by using

the newfangled computer-magic of cloud storage.

"Nobody understands the cloud — it's a mystery!"

Cloud storage can only be used by Xbox Live Gold members, so sign up for that first — and,

remember: Xbox 360s are limited to 512MB of cloud usage, so you might have to repeat this

process a few times if you have a bunch of large save files.

First, you'll want to move — or copy — your Xbox 360 saves to the cloud.

This can be done be accessing your storage management screen, selecting the game you

want to carry over, and then selecting the save file for that title.

Then, just shoot it over to the cloud, boot up your Xbox One, load the save, and pick

up right where you left off.

Just like that, you'll be right back in the middle of all your old favorites.

If your child spends way too much time playing video games, then the Xbox One has a secret

weapon.

By using the parental control settings, you can set a limit on the amount of time a child

can use the console.

This feature can also come in handy if you want to limit your own gaming to help keep

yourself from losing track of time and spending hours hunting down the Werewolf in L.A. Noire.

Make sure you take a look at the general parental control settings first and create a passkey

to keep them from being "adjusted" by any enterprising minors in your household.

You can set up a total hour limit, or even create a schedule designating what days and

times the child account can use the Xbox One on Microsoft's Family website.

By default, the Xbox One launches a game or movie as soon as you put in a disc.

This autoplay function definitely adds a level of convenience for owners, since you don't

have to open up any menus or apps to start a physical game or watch a movie.

That's all pretty cool — until you're in the middle of playing a digital game or binge-watching

Black Mirror on Netflix when someone sneaks in all Solid-Snake-like and slips a disc into

your console.

If want to avoid getting pulled away from the action even for a moment, Xbox One will

let you turn autoplay off.

Simply press the Xbox button on your controller, select "Settings", then choose "All Settings."

Next, select "Disc and Blu-ray" and toggle off the option that says "Play disc automatically."

Ever since the Xbox One was first released in 2013, one of the most common complaints

has been how long games take to install.

Gone are the days when you could pop a new game into your system and start playing immediately.

Even if your game came on a disc, you still have to let your Xbox One install it to the

hard drive — and that's a process that could take hours.

Microsoft put out an update to help address this issue in late 2016, but game installs

can still take a long time if you don't have high-speed internet.

If you just can't wait to start shooting your way through a new game, then here's a sneaky

Xbox One workaround you can use to speed up the installation.

Press the Xbox button on your controller, then open the "Settings" menu.

Go to "Network settings" and choose "Go Offline."

This should disconnect your Xbox One from the internet (and Xbox Live).

Put in your new game disc, and it should install considerably quicker—bypassing any patches

or updates for the game.

Keep in mind that you'll almost definitely need those patches and updates eventually,

especially if you want to play online.

Just re-connect your Xbox One to the internet and download the updates and patches another

time, when you aren't using the console.

Did you know that you can share the digital games you've bought for Xbox One with another

console?

By designating a "home" Xbox, you can access your digital games from any other Xbox One—even

from a friend who lives halfway around the world.

This feature allows you to share any downloaded games—and, if you have an Xbox Live Gold

membership, you can share that, too!

And it's as simple as inputting your friend's account information into your Xbox and setting

your console as your "Home Xbox."

If you have a friend who also loves to buy their video games digitally, you can use this

feature to share all of your digital games with them—and vice versa.

Make sure you only do this with someone you trust, as they'll have access to your Xbox

Live email and password.

And, remember: You can only change your "Home" console three times a year, so use this feature

wisely.

Removing an Xbox One as your Home console will also remove remote access to that system's

digital games.

Recording and editing Xbox One game clips is just one way to use Game DVR and Upload

Studio.

If you'd like to make a longer collection of gameplay clips, the sky's the limit with

Upload Studio's "multiclip" function.

You can use multiclip to string up to fifteen clips together, adjust their order, and meld

them into one polished video.

Want to use more than fifteen clips?

Just make several multiclip videos in Upload Studio, quit and reload the app, then combine

those multiclip videos together into a mega-montage.

Make sure you keep the length under 30 minutes total, or you won't be able to upload it to

Xbox Live from your console.

If 30 minutes just isn't enough time to showcase your formidable gaming skills, you can record

clips up to 1 hour long if you have an external hard drive connected to your console.

You can't use Upload Studio to edit and upload these super-long videos, but you can change

the capture location—allowing Game DVR to put recorded clips on your external hard drive.

After recording, just connect the hard drive to your PC to transfer, edit, and upload the

videos manually.

Playing Assassin's Creed Origins or Forza Motorsport 7 for hours can be fun, but sometimes

you just want to kill a few minutes playing something a little less engrossing.

If you've got a craving for simpler games like Minesweeper or Pong, the Xbox One has

you covered.

You can actually use your console's web browser to play these games and other popular, bite-sized

games like Flappy Bird, Bejeweled, and many more.

Start out by downloading the free Internet Explorer app from the Xbox One store.

Open up the console's browser, tap the right menu button on your controller to bring up

the address bar, then type in https://playboxie.com/.

The PlayBoxie website has dozens of free Flash and HTML5 games available for you to play

right on your Xbox One.

Ancient Athens: Ostracism As A First Line Defence Of Democracy 4K (Video) 2018 - Duration: 11:09.

Hi guys!

Welcome back to Archaeology And Travel With Zorica!

Today I will cover one of the most important aspects of democracy in Ancient Athens: the

ostracism.

Stay tuned if you like learning interesting things!

Ostracism is a practice instituted in th3 6th century BC in Athens, which was in use

till the last quarter of the 5th century BC.

I would note here that the practice of ostracism is attested in other Greek poleis like: Argos,

Miletus, Syracuse and Megara.

Before I start dealing with the mechanism of ostracism, let's see the historic background

that shaped Athenian society to start using it.

The most important process for Athenian society was synoikia.

Synoikia was the process of political unification of entire Attica.

It took them 200-300 years to accomplish the unification process.

In the 9th or 8th century BC Paralia joined the union.

Paralia is a coastal part of Attica.

The next was Diacria, a mountain region on the north Attica.

The strongest resistance was provided by inhabitants of Eleusis, on the southwestern part Attica.

Eleusis was autonomous even during the 7th century BC.

The most important source of information for the period I am talking about is so called

Constitution of the Athenians, written by Aristotle.

You can find some info about it at Herodotus, Thucydides, Diodorus Siculus and Plutarch.

After unification process was completed Attica was faced with many challenges.

One of the characteristics of Athens in the 7th century BC was an agricultural society

with minimal share of crafts.

The aristocracy consisted of eupatrids which were using any opportunity to enslave the

rest of the society.

The second class of the Athenian society were geomori, a peasants located in the barely

fertile Diacria.

The third class of the Athenian society consisted of demiurgi, the craftsmen.

It is believed that the division of the Athenian society was made by mythical king Theseus.

Apart from demos, there was a class of meticos, free immigrants without political and property

rights in Ancient Athens because they were not members of Athenian tribes.

Only members of Athenian tribes were allowed to participate in politics and to have land

in Attica.

Even though we have legends that mention the names of Athenian kings, we don't have any

proves that they actually existed.

The last of Athenian kings, Codros, died to save Athens during the Dorian invasion in

1068 BC.

It was believed that no other man was good enough to succeed him as a king of Athens.

Aristotle, on other hand, says that his (Codros's) son Medon succeed Codros as the Athenian king.

After abolition of kingship in Ancient Athens, political rule passed into the hands of 9

archons.

Archons were members of eupatrids and the oldest of archons gave the name to the current

year.

Very important part in the Ancient Athenian society had areopagus.

We have to bear in mind that areopagus was another mechanism of aristocratic rule because

the members of areopagus were old archons.

After the national assembly lost it's power, the demos lost it's instrument to fight

for rights.

That is why we see 7th and 6th century BC as a battle fields between demos and aristocracy.

It culminated with fight against tyrants and establishing the democratic rule in Ancient

Athens.

Cleisthenes reform from 509 BC mark the end of clan based society in Athens and rising

of citizen assembly.

The division of Attica into 10 territorial units broke the clan ties, leaving the

aristocracy without the influence.

In an attempt to diminish the influence of followers of tyranny, he created many important

institutions: like council of 500, collegium of 10 apodecants, which were nothing but magistrants

of finances, 10 strategos and supreme court heliaia.

Osracism represents a kind of banishment from the Ancient Athenian society.

As a part of his reform, Cleisthenes divided year into 10 pritany (periods).

Each pritany (period) lasted 35 or 36 days.

After the 6th pritany, which corresponds to the beginning of our year, they asked the

question:"Should we undertake the ostracism?".

If the answer was positive the vote took place during the 8th pritany.

It took minimum of 6000 votes to declare ostracism regular.

The candidate with most votes on ostracons was banished from Attica for 10 years.

He had 10 days to leave Attica.

I must note here that ostracism as a banishment did not included loosing political nor property

rights.

Ostracons were pottery shreds, mainly bottom of the vessel used for incising the name of

candidate for ostracism.

Now we have to bear in mind that not all the voters were literate and they needed a little

help of those who can write.

The question is:"Did they took the advantage of it?".

Between 509 and 416 BC ostracism took place between 10 and 15 times.

How do we know about it?

Well, during the archaeological excavations in Cerameicos and proximity of Acropolis,

archaeologist have discovered tens of thousands ostracons inscribed with names of candidates.

Archaeological excavation in proximity of Acropolis revealed 190 ostracons incised with

Themistocles name.

The truth is that those ostracons were hidden and during the handwriting analysis it was

concluded that 14 persons incised all 190 ostracons.

Some scholars believe that it is a proof of vote fraud.

The first ostracism took place in 487 BC and that was Hipparchos, son of Charmos.

He was ostracized due to his family ties to tyrant Peisistratos.

We even have an account that one person was ostracized twice.

That was Megacle, son of Hippocrates.

Even the members of Cleisthenes family were ostracized.

The funny thing about banishment of Hyperbolos was the fact that he tried to expel one of

his opponents, Nicias or Alcibiades.

What happened next was absolutely epic!

Nicias and Alcibiades joined forces and managed to expel Hyperbolos.

The account of this is found at Plutarch.

He states that people were tired of this practice and abandoned ostracism for ever.

The truth is that ostracism was not something new in the Ancient Athens.

A similar practice of exile existed before but it included loosing rights and property.

That way a political power shifted greatly and destabilized Ancient Athenian society

allowing tyranny to happen.

Ostracism prevented a sudden change in political forces, stabilizing society and preparing Ancient

Athens for what comes next.

Night Shopping in Gangnam, Seoul | Where to Buy Souvenirs in Korea Vlog - Duration: 7:55.

Hi guys!

I'm here in Gangnam and today I'm going to do a little shopping guide, show you some

various things you can pick up in Gangnam, whether you want to buy some holiday gifts

for your family, you want to buy yourself some souvenirs.

I'm going to try to mix it up, I know that last time I only showed you ice cream and

thrifting, so let's see what else we can find - let's go!

So our first stop is the subway station which I'm sure you guys know about.

Shopping in the Gangnam subway station is really popular, they prefer if you bring CASH

and they have pretty much anything you can imagine, they have shoes, they have accessories,

they have clothes, they have food, anything you want.

My ears are very sensitive to the cold, so I like to wear beanies over them, but I also

like to wear my hair up in the winter, so I bought these giant ear muffs, and they're

literally giant and just ridiculous, so I saw these really subtle and cute ear muffs

that are really trendy right now.

I am going to search for a pair, so let's go!

I'm going to be really sad if that's the best price because I don't want to walk all the

way back here.

So now we are outside and of course we have to stop at Vin Prime, this is a thrift store,

if you follow me you know this place by now, its one of my favorite places, its a chain.

And you will be able to find a lot of different sizes and styles, and its just a cool unique

piece, I always love thrifting whenever I visit a new country.

There's a Vin Prime in the subway station which I just took you to and I got the perfect

scarf it matches my hair so well, I'm super stoked about it.

It was 20% off which is great.

Now onto our next destination!

There are so many trendy indie Korean stores going on right now, especially in Gangnam,

a new store just opened called Very Very which I'll take you to.

Most of their clothes are in free size which means they're either going to be really really

big, or really small but you can kind of hope that you can find something in your size there.

And they have really cute accessories, so let's go!

My all time favorite store to buy gifts at no matter who I'm buying for, is Art Box.

They have literally everything stationary, cute toys, beauty items, honestly everything

you can imagine, right now they're going crazy because its Christmas, but definitely stop

in Art Box here's a little preview of what you can find there.

Next, I'm not going to take you to all of them, because Gangnam has any face store,

skin care store, that you can imagine, there's innisfree, aritaum, innisfree, vt cosmetics,

the face shop, literally everything is here.

But there is also, right across from the CGV, a 3 story Olive Young.

So you can get literally everything all in the same place, usually for a big sale, so

definitely go check out the 3 story Olive Young.

So if any of you guys are coming here to Korea because you want to study Korean, or you have

friends that want to study Korean, getting them a really cute Korean book I think is

such a fun gift or just for yourself ;) So our next stop is going to be the books store!

so let's go~ So now that we've been shopping til we've dropped for a while now, I say we

stop at a cafe that just opened, I've been to another location before, I brought you

guys to it once, and it just opened right now in Shinonhyeon, right across the street

from where we're standing, so let's go get some tea.
